(SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Broncos will place their franchise tag on Demaryius Thomas, according to both ESPN and NFL.com.
The designation means the star wide receiver will receive a one-year deal for the average of the top five salaries at his position, which figures to be roughly $12.8 million.
Thomas has made the Pro Bowl each of the last three years and set a Broncos single-season franchise record with 1,619 yards receiving this past season.
The 27-year-old Georgia Tech product has caught 351 passes for 5,317 yards and 41 touchdowns in 69 career games. He was selected by the Broncos with the 22nd overall pick in the 2010 draft.
