The Denver Broncos signed first-round pick Sylvester Williams on Thursday.
The Broncos selected Williams with the 28th overall pick in April's draft.
The 6-foot-2, 313-pound defensive lineman recorded 8 1/2 sacks during his two- year career at North Carolina. He was named a first-team All-American by Pro Football Weekly in 2012.
Williams will join veterans Kevin Vickerson, Terrance Knighton, Mitch Unrein and others in competing for spots in the Broncos' defensive tackle rotation.
