Brian Bennett hit all seven of his shots and scored 15 points with eight rebounds to lead Cal Poly past NAIA Menlo College 72-35 on Saturday night.
Joel Awich added 13 points for Cal Poly (3-3) and Reese Morgan had 11. The Mustangs made just 26 of 66 field goals, including 6 of 24 from 3-point range.
The Mustangs held a 51-26 rebounding advantage and a 38-10 margin for points in the paint.
Skyler Sexton led Menlo College with 11 points. The Oakes were held to 28.6 percent shooting from the field. Menlo was 2 of 6 from the free-throw line compared to 14 of 17 for the Mustangs.
Cal Poly led by as many as 40 points.
