Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura left Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs after being hit in the helmet with a pitch in the eighth inning.
Segura squared around to bunt and was struck by a Pedro Strop fastball above the brim of his helmet to load the bases in what turned out to be a two-run inning. He shook it off and walked down to first base before leaving the game.
It was the second time this season Segura was hit by a high pitch. He remained in an April 7 game against Colorado after being struck in the face by a pitch that glanced his helmet first.
In an April 2014 game, Segura was accidentally struck in the face by teammate Ryan Braun's bat as Braun was stretching in the dugout.
Segura is batting .289 with 10 RBI this season.
