The Milwaukee Brewers activated third baseman Aramis Ramirez from the 15-day disabled list and he was in the lineup as the cleanup hitter for Tuesday's 5-1 win against the Texas Rangers.

Ramirez, who hasn't played since July 6 due to left patellar tendinitis, ended 0-for-3. He is batting .266 with five homers and 26 RBI in 55 games this season. He has had two stints on the DL this year, also April 6 - May 2 due to a sprained left knee.

The Brewers also optioned outfielder Caleb Gindl to Triple-A Nashville Tuesday. Gindl has batted .282 with a homer and six RBI in his first 32 major league games.
