Brest learned Thursday that it will have to go the remainder of the season without defender Paul Baysse, who ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in a friendly match on Wednesday.
"Given the severity of his injury, his season is undoubtedly over," a club statement said of Baysse's injury.
The 24-year-old was forced out of the friendly after only seven minutes. A scan revealed a rupture of the anterolateral cruciate ligaments in Baysse's left knee.
