Sao Paulo, Brazil (SportsNetwork.com) - Botafogo moved into second place in the Brasileiro table after coming from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Flamengo.
Mid-table Flamengo got off to a quick start with Hernane putting his team ahead after 12 minutes, but Gege Soriola equalized for Botafogo a few minutes before halftime.
The difference came in the 62nd minute when Mariano Marques netted his 10th goal of the campaign to separate the sides and move Botafogo within 10 points of leaders Cruzeiro, who lost 1-0 at Atletico Mineiro on a goal from Fernando in the 86th minute.
Gremio is level on 49 points with Botafogo after the team was held to a 1-1 draw at Fluminense, which got the equalizing goal from Rafael Sobis in the 89th minute after having a player sent off in the 72nd.
Atletico Paranaense is fourth and just one point behind both Botafogo and Gremio after a 1-0 victory over Portuguesa that saw Marcelo score the lone goal in the opening minute of the match.
Wellington Paulista scored twice to lead Criciuma past Vasco da Gama, 3-2, Internacional scored three unanswered goals over the final 45 minutes to secure a 4-1 win against Nautico, Goias found the net three times in the first 38 minutes against Bahia en route to a 3-1 triumph, while Sao Paulo and Corinthians played to a 0-0 draw after Sao Paulo's Rogerio Ceni missed a penalty kick in the 89th minute.
Dinei's goal 20 minutes from time lifted Vitoria to a 2-1 win against Coritiba and Santos topped Ponte Preta, 2-1, with goals from Everton and Walter Montillo.
