Bolts D Gudas has misconduct rescinded
Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas received some good news from the National Hockey League.
The Tampa Bay Times reported on Tuesday that the league has rescinded his misconduct from Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Florida Panthers.
Gudas was hit with a slashing minor, 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct in the latter stages of the second period in that contest after breaking his stick over the Panthers' bench in retaliation for Florida's Scottie Upshall squirting him with Gatorade.
Having the misconduct taken away saves Gudas a $200 fine that comes with the penalty, and also gives him more leeway with further infractions. Any player who accumulates three misconducts is automatically suspended for one game.
The 23-year-old Czech blueliner leads the NHL with 53 penalty minutes in only 11 games.
