Blue Jackets place Boll on IR; activate Nikitin

Columbus, OH – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Jared Boll on injured reserve because of a foot injury.

Boll was hurt during a February 9 game against Dallas and has already missed four games. He is listed as week-to-week.

In 40 games this season, Boll has one goal and one assist with 91 penalty minutes.

The Blue Jackets activated defenseman Nikita Nikitin off injured reserve. He had missed the club's past 12 games with a knee injury suffered in a January 21 game against Detroit.

The 25-year-old Russian native was acquired from St. Louis on November 11 in a trade that sent Kris Russell to the Blues. Nikitin has two goals and 16 assists in a combined 38 games this season.
