CHICAGO - The Blackhawks have extended senior adviser of hockey operations Scotty Bowman's contract and promoted Marc Bergevin to assistant general manager.
The team announced the moves Wednesday.
Bowman joined the Blackhawks in 2008. His son Stan is the team's general manager.
Bergevin spent the past two seasons as the team's director of player personnel and is entering his seventh season in the organization. He replaces Kevin Cheveldayoff, who was hired as general manager of the Winnipeg club.
The Blackhawks also promoted Norm Maciver to director of player personnel and Kyle Davidson to hockey administration co-ordinator.
