Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel had minor surgery on his left knee Sunday morning in Buffalo.

Manuel sustained the injury in Friday night's preseason game against Minnesota. The team released a statement the next day saying Manuel would have surgery and miss the rest of the preseason.

The 23-year-old Manuel will be re-evaluated at the start of the regular season. In the meantime, Kevin Kolb will be Buffalo's starting quarterback.

Manuel was the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played well in his first two preseason games, completing 26-of-33 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns.
