Stockholm, Sweden (SportsNetwork.com) - Top seed and former champion Tomas Berdych and second-seeded reigning titlist Grigor Dimitrov led the charge into the semifinals at the Stockholm Open tennis tournament.
The Czech star and 2012 titlist Berdych blew past Romanian qualifier Marius Copil 6-2, 6-2, while the Bulgarian Dimitrov came from behind to beat improving American Jack Sock 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 on the indoor surface at Kungliga Tennishallen.
Up next for the former Wimbledon runner-up Berdych will be German Matthias Bachinger, while Dimitrov's semifinal opponent will be Aussie Bernard Tomic.
Dimitrov topped Spanish star David Ferrer in last year's Stockholm finale for his first-ever ATP title.
Tomic toppled seventh-seeded Spanish left-hander Fernando Verdasco 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), while the qualifier Bachinger overcame Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 on Day 5.
This week's winner will earn $120,000.
