Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson has been suspended for three games in the wake of offseason misconduct.
Benson served a 20-day jail sentence in Texas on a charge of misdemeanor assault, after pleading no contest following a 2010 incident involving an employee in an Austin, Texas bar.
The seven-year pro will appeal the suspension, according Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, who quotes a source close to the situation.
