Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Cincinnati Bengals middle linebacker Rey Maualuga will not play in Thursday's game at Miami after spraining his left knee during the current AFC North leaders' most recent outing.
Maualuga sustained the injury, as well as a concussion, during the second quarter of Cincinnati's 49-9 rout of the New York Jets this past Sunday. The fifth-year pro is expected to miss multiple weeks.
The Bengals will be without a few other defensive contributors for Thursday's matchup with the Dolphins. Cornerback Leon Hall (torn Achilles) and safety Taylor Mays (shoulder) were each placed on injured reserve in the last couple of days, while backup tackle Devon Still has also been ruled out due to an elbow injury.
Left offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth (knee), who was held out of Wednesday's practice, is listed as questionable to face the Dolphins along with wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (shoulder), defensive end Wallace Gilberry (groin), linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring) and running back Rex Burkhead (hamstring).
