Monchengladbach, Germany – Bayern Munich wrapped up its title-winning Bundesliga season in typical fashion, running out to a 4-3 victory over Monchengladbach at Borussia Park on Saturday.
Martin Stranzl and Mike Hanke got the home side off the mark with a goal apiece inside the opening five minutes of the match, but Javi Martinez cut Bayern's deficit in half in the seventh minute.
Havard Nordtveit restored Monchengladbach's two-goal advantage in the 10th minute while Franck Ribery's goal eight minutes later brought the visitors back to within one.
Monchengladbach remained in front until the 53rd minute when Ribery struck once more to level the score for Bayern, allowing Arjen Robben's goal in the 59th to hold up as the eventual game-winner.
The victory completes a dominating league campaign for the Bavarians, who finish the season with 91 points and a 25-point gap ahead of second-place Borussia Dortmund. Bayern's comeback at Borussia Park also leaves the club in good stead for next weekend's Champions League final against Dortmund at Wembley.
Monchengladbach ends the season in eighth place on 47 points.
Augsburg 3, Greuther Furth 1
Augsburg, Germany - Augsburg managed to avoid relegation thanks to a 3-1 victory over lowly Greuther Furth on Saturday.
Markus Weinzierl's side entered the final Bundesliga round in the drop zone with 28 points, but Saturday's victory at the SGL Arena sees the club climb to 15th place to remain in the German top flight for another season.
Furth spurned a tremendous opportunity to take the lead inside five minutes when Edgar Prib failed to convert a penalty kick, a miss the visitors would rue when Tobias Werner and Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker handed Augsburg a two- goal lead.
That advantage was cut in half by Florian Trinks in the 62nd minute, but Dong- Won Ji scored for Augsburg 15 minutes from time to secure the victory.
Hoffenheim 2, Borussia Dortmund 1
Dortmund, Germany - Hoffenheim managed to pull off a 2-1 defeat of Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday to earn one more chance to remain in the Bundesliga next season.
The club improves to 31 points on the season to clinch a spot in the relegation playoff.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for Borussia Dortmund in the sixth minute, but Sejad Salihovic converted two penalties in the span of five minutes to hand the visitors the lead.
Dortmund had a goal disallowed in the third minute of stoppage time, which would have kept Hoffenheim in the relegation zone. Instead, the visitors held on to collect three points and keep their hopes of top-flight football alive.
Bayer Leverkusen 1, Hamburg 0
Hamburg, Germany - Stefan Kiessling scored the lone goal in Bayer Leverkusen's 1-0 defeat of Hamburg at the Imtech Arena on Saturday.
Kiessling's strike came in the 90th minute, ensuring his place as the Bundesliga's leading scorer this season with 25 league goals.
Leverkusen finishes the season with five straight wins to nail down third place with 65 points. Hamburg ends the campaign in seventh place with 48 points.
Schalke 2, Freiburg 1
Freiburg, Germany - Schalke claimed a 2-1 victory at Freiburg on Saturday with an own goal from Julian Schuster proving to be the difference between the two sides.
Julian Draxler put the visitors in front in the 20th minute, a lead that they held until Jonathan Schmid's equalizer in the 54th minute.
But Schalke's fortuitous goal three minutes later helped the club finish the season on a high as the Royal Blues seal the final Champions League qualification spot with 55 points on the season, four points clear of fifth- place Freiburg.
Hannover 3, Dusseldorf 0
Hannover, Germany - Hannover handed Dusseldorf a miserable end to life in the Bundesliga by claiming a 3-0 win at the AWD Arena on Saturday.
Mame Biram Diouf scored in the 36th minute before Didier Ya Konan's second- half brace wrapped up the victory, which brings the club to a ninth-place finish with 45 points.
Dusseldorf concludes the campaign in the relegation zone with 30 points, managing just three points from its final 12 league matches of the season.
Eintracht 2, Wolfsburg 2
Frankfurt, Germany - A late own goal from Ricardo Rodriguez helped Eintracht claim a point from a 2-2 home draw with Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Jan Polak and Diego scored in the eighth and 19th minutes, respectively, but the home side was granted a way back into the match in the 35th minute when Makoto Hasebe was sent off for his infraction in the penalty. Alexander Meier cut Eintracht's deficit in half by converting the ensuing attempt before an own goal from Rodriguez in the 90th minute saw the two sides finish level.
Eintracht ends the season in sixth place with 51 points while Wolfsburg finishes in 11th place with 43 points.
Nurnberg 3, Werder Bremen 2
Nurnberg, Germany - Nurnberg ended the Bundesliga season with back-to-back wins after claiming a 3-2 defeat of Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Kevin De Bruyne's opener was erased after Per Nilsson, Sebastian Polter and Tomas Pekhart recorded one goal apiece in second-half action. De Bruyne bagged a late goal for Bremen, but it proved to be nothing more than consolation strike.
Nurnberg finishes 10th in the German top flight with 44 points, 10 points better than Werder Bremen.
Stuttgart 2, Mainz 2
Stuttgart, Germany - Stuttgart and Mainz played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday with all four goals at the Mercedes Benz Arena coming in the first half.
Chinedu Ede got visiting Mainz off the mark in the 16th minute, but it was canceled out by Christian Wetklo's own goal six minutes later. Stuttgart climbed in front through Arthur Boka in the 33rd, but Nicolai Muller earned Mainz a share of the spoils by equalizing three minutes before the break.
A scoreless second half saw Stuttgart finish on 43 points, one point ahead of Mainz.
