Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista was named American League Player of the Month for June.
Bautista batted .271 with 14 home runs, 30 runs batted in and 24 runs scored in 27 games during June to earn his fifth career monthly award.
His 14 homers in the month established a Blue Jays' franchise record for most hit in any single month. It also marked the most hit in a calendar month since Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki hit 15 long balls in September 2010.
The 31-year-old Domincan Republic native currently leads the majors with 26 homers, ranks second with 63 RBI and is tied for fourth with 56 runs scored.
Other players considered for the award were New York's Robinson Cano, Minnesota's Trevor Plouffe, Kansas City's Alex Gordon and AL Rookie of the Month Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
