Bale to miss two weeks with ankle injury

Tottenham fans breathed a sigh of relief on Friday as the club revealed that winger Gareth Bale will return to training in two weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in the team's 2-2 draw with Basel in the Europa League on Thursday.

Bale sustained the injury in the closing stages of the match and had to be taken from the field on a stretcher, prompting Tottenham to fear the worst.

But after undergoing tests on Friday, it was determined that Bale will miss two weeks, ruling him out of this weekend's clash with Everton as well as the return leg against Basel next Thursday.

Bale has tallied 22 goals in all competitions for Spurs this season, while Tottenham sits in third place in the Premiership table, two points clear of fourth-place Chelsea.
