DENVER (Reuters) - The Colorado Avalanche signed forward David Jones to a one year contract, locking up one of their top goal scorers through the 2011-12 NHL season, the team said on Wednesday.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but local media reported the deal was worth $2.5 million.
Jones, 26, set career-highs last season with 27 goals, giving him a share of the team lead, 18 assists and 45 points.
