Senior quarterback Brady Attaway threw for a Southland Conference-record 662 yards, but it didn't prevent Stephen F. Austin from falling to visiting Prairie View A&M, 56-48, Saturday night.

Attaway completed 44-of-66 pass attempts for four touchdowns and one interception. Aaron Thomas' 242 receiving yards, on 10 receptions, also set a conference record.

But Prairie View quarterback Jerry Lovelock held his own in the victory, accounting for seven touchdowns. He threw for four scores and ran for another three, totaling 406 yards of total offense.

Stephen F. Austin (2-3), coming off an upset of then-No. 3 Montana State a week ago, had 827 yards of total offense, but committed five turnovers.

Prairie View (3-2) had 582 yards of total offense as the two teams combined for 1,409 yards.
