Atalanta defender Andrea Masiello was arrested on Monday in connection with an ongoing match-fixing probe.
Masiello joined Atalanta from Bari last summer and has been charged with "criminal association and fraud" along with two friends, Giovanni Carella and Fabio Giacobbe.
Eight of Masiello's former Bari teammates have been implicated in the scandal, and more arrests are expected.
Reports indicate that the investigation is focused on a match between Bari and Lecce last May in which Bari, having already been relegated, lost 2-0 with Masiello scoring an own goal in the game.
