Oakland, CA – The Oakland Athletics have optioned pitcher Tommy Milone to Triple-A Sacramento.
The move comes one day after the left-hander allowed six runs and nine hits over 3 2/3 innings in Friday's 8-3 loss to Texas.
The setback evened Milone's record at 9-9 and raised his earned run average to 4.39 through 22 starts this season.
Righty Evan Scribner was recalled from Sacramento to fill the roster spot. Scriber gave up 11 runs over 12 relief appearances earlier this year with the A's.
