Oakland, CA – The Oakland Athletics placed catcher Derek Norris on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left big toe on Friday.
The move is retroactive to Aug. 21.
The 24-year-old was batting .232 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 84 games with Oakland this season. This is his first career stint on the disabled list.
Oakland acquired catcher Kurt Suzuki from Washington earlier on Friday.
