Arizona's Mike Iupati taken off on stretcher after collision

SEATTLE (AP) Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Mike Iupati was taken off the field in an ambulance Sunday night after a collision while making a block in the second quarter against the Seattle Seahawks.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Iupati was down on the field for about 10 minutes as medical personnel attended to him with 9:16 remaining in the second quarter. After being strapped to a backboard, Iupati was put on a stretcher and into an ambulance that was brought onto the field.

The Cardinals said Iupati had a neck injury but had feeling and movement in his extremities when he left the stadium. He was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

Iupati was hurt on a first-and-10 run by Chris Johnson. Iupati was pulling on the play and lowered his head and he collided with Seattle's Kam Chancellor. Iupati immediately fell to the turf, where he was attended to by medical personnel from both teams.

The 28-year-old Iupati, from American Samoa, signed with the Cardinals as a free agent in the offseason after five years with San Francisco. He played at the University of Idaho.

Iuptai was replaced by Earl Watford.
