Appalachian State University officials will hold a conference call Tuesday afternoon to discuss its athletics feasibility committee's recommendation to pursue a move to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
The 11-month committee completed a seven-month study by recommending to Chancellor Dr. Kenneth E. Peacock that ASU seek membership in an FBS conference.
Director of athletics Charlie Cobb and athletics feasibility committee co- chairperson G.A. Sywassink will discuss the recommendation during the conference call.
ASU won three straight Football Championship Subdivision titles from 2005-07 and has led the subdivision in attendance three of the last four years.
Dr. Peacock has yet to make his recommendation on ASU's potential move. The university's board of trustees also must approve any conference or subdivision changes.
