The Anaheim Ducks have traded defenseman Bryan Allen to the Montreal Canadiens for forward Rene Bourque.
The clubs announced the deal Thursday.
Allen has one assist in six games during an injury-slowed season, his third with the Ducks. The stay-at-home defenseman will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Bourque has no goals in 13 games this season with the Canadiens, who put him on waivers and sent him to their AHL affiliate in Hamilton. The 32-year-old scored eight goals in 17 playoff games last spring for Montreal.
Allen also has played for Carolina, Florida and Vancouver. Bourque has suited up for Calgary and Chicago.
