Jamie Adams scored a career-high 28 points as Florida A&M took an 89-77 victory from Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference-rival South Carolina State Monday night to snap an eight-game losing streak.
Adams was 8-of-17 shooting and made a career-best six 3-pointers on 10 attempts, helping the Rattlers (5-14, 2-3) make 8 of 18 from long range.
Rattlers' freshman Trey Kellum pitched in 18 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double.
Despite Kellum's efforts, South Carolina State (4-14, 0-5) won the rebound battle 46-30 and collected 24 second-chance points to the Rattlers' 10.
The Bulldogs committed 16 turnovers, though, leading to 18 Florida A&M points.
Matthew Hezekiah led South Carolina State with 21 points, while Khalif Toombs added 17 and Darryl Palmer 15.
The Bulldogs have now dropped 11 straight since beginning 4-3.
The Rattlers used a 24-4 run near the end of the first half for a 42-35 halftime lead.
