NEW YORK – Three Houston Astros were among six more minor leaguers suspended for 50 games each under baseball's minor league drug program.
All three Astros tested positive for Methylhexaneamine: pitcher Daniel Meszaros of Triple-A Round Rock, and shortstop Marcos Cabral and catcher Jonathon Fixler of Double-A Corpus Christi.
Zachary Dotson, a New York Mets pitcher in the Gulf Coast League, also tested positive for Methylhexaneamine, as did Zachary Hurley, an outfielder with Oakland's Class A Vancouver farm team.
Free agent pitcher Luis Mercedes was penalized for testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.
Major League Baseball announced the suspensions on Thursday.
There have been 73 suspensions this year under the minor league program. Cincinnati pitcher Edinson Volquez was suspended under the major league program.
