The San Francisco 49ers signed defensive tackle Tank Carradine and tight end Vance McDonald to four-year contracts on Thursday.
The 49ers selected Carradine (40th overall) and McDonald (55th overall) in the second round of last month's draft.
Carradine is coming off a torn ACL last November at Florida State. As a senior in 2012, he recorded 80 tackles and 11 sacks while earning First-Team All-ACC honors.
The 6-foot-4, 276-pounder played in 25 career games (11 starts) for the Seminoles, tallying 118 tackles and 16 1/2 sacks. He began his collegiate career at Butler Community College in Kansas.
McDonald played in 42 career games (28 starts) for Rice. A two-time First-Team All-Conference USA selection, McDonald finished his career ranked seventh in school history with 119 receptions, sixth in receiving yards (1,504) and tied for fifth in touchdown receptions (15).
