The 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament began March 10 and was set to run through March 14 in New Jersey but was canceled over the coronavirus.
Each of the conference’s 11 teams made the tournament, though the tournament was canceled.

“In response to the immediate and ever-growing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and its Council of Presidents have unanimously decided to cancel the remainder of its current conference tournament currently being held in Atlantic City, New Jersey,” the conference said in a statement.
The MAAC also announced it was canceling the rest of the spring sports season.
“In addition, based upon the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference membership’s ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our student athletes and athletic department representatives and as a result of the growing national concern of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Council of Presidents has also unanimously voted to cancel all spring sports competitions, practices (including captain’s practices), effective tomorrow, March 13th and other athletic related activities for the remainder of the 2020 Spring semester.”
The NCAA later canceled the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments over the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the globe and put all of American sports on lockdown.

“Today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to [the] spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities,” the NCAA said
