DEAL, N.J. – Two-time defending champion Ellen Port shot a 2-under 71 on Sunday in the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur to top the 64 match-play qualifiers.
The 52-year-old Port, from St. Louis, was the only player to break par in two rounds of qualifying at Hollywood Golf Club, finishing at 2-under 144. She has a record four U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur titles and captained the winning U.S. Curtis Cup team in June.
Canada's Judith Kyrinis tied for second at 7 over with Caryn Wilson of Rancho Mirage, California; Andrea Kraus of Baltimore; and Brenda Pictor of Marietta, Georgia. Kyrinis had a 76, Wilson and Kraus shot 75, and Pictor had a 80.
