Bloodhound K-9 unit helps bring Georgia manhunt to end with arrest of suspect accused of shooting woman

A 10-hour manhunt in Georgia came to an end Tuesday after a bloodhound helped deputies track down a "dangerous" suspect accused of shooting the mother of his child and fleeing on foot.

The suspect was identified as Darian Berry Sr., 46, a convicted felon, according to the Butts County Sheriff’s Office.

The domestic incident unfolded Tuesday morning in the city of Flovilla, roughly 50 miles south of Atlanta, officials said.

"He made the choice to run, but he could not outrun the determination of law enforcement or the incredible tracking ability of the bloodhounds that ultimately helped bring him into custody," the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Deputies first responded after reports of a domestic incident involving Berry.

According to his charges, Berry allegedly attempted to confine or restrict his victim. He was also accused of arson and stalking.

As deputies arrived, Berry allegedly fled on foot and was believed to be armed with a handgun, prompting a major search effort.

The Georgia community was further placed on a BOLO ("be on the lookout") alert as authorities worked to locate the suspect.

Officials said the Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 Unit bloodhound played a key role in helping authorities locate Berry, who was taken into custody by Tuesday evening.

Berry now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, stalking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, obstruction, two counts of arson, battery, family violence and false imprisonment.

FIRST ON FOX: Former Vice President Mike Pence is calling on Congress to rename Sen. Lindsey Graham's signature Russia sanctions legislation after the late South Carolina Republican, telling Fox News Digital there would be "no more fitting tribute" to one of the Senate's most influential national security hawks.

In an exclusive interview, Pence said Graham's years-long push for tougher sanctions against Russia should become both his legislative legacy and a permanent reminder of his unwavering support for Ukraine and America's allies.

Pence argued Congress has a rare opportunity to honor Graham by passing the bipartisan sanctions package he spent years championing and sending it to President Donald Trump with the senator's name attached.

GRAHAM REPORTEDLY REFUSED MEDICAL HELP BEFORE SCHEDULED TV APPEARANCE

"I also believe it'd be altogether fitting to put Sen. Lindsey Graham's name on that bill," Pence told Fox News Digital. "Send it to the president, have him sign it into law."

Pence said Graham viewed Russia's invasion of Ukraine as one of the defining geopolitical challenges of the era and believed economic pressure was essential to forcing Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate.

"He never had any illusions about who we were dealing with — with Vladimir Putin," Pence said.

The former vice president, who has traveled to Ukraine twice since Russia's invasion, said Graham understood that Ukraine represented "a frontier of freedom" and consistently pushed both Republican and Democratic administrations to stand firmly with America's allies.

When asked whether the sanctions legislation could ultimately become Graham's greatest achievement, Pence said it may well define how history remembers the longtime senator.

"I think it could be," Pence said.

He pointed to Graham's decades-long advocacy for Israel, Ukraine and a stronger NATO alliance, saying the senator remained remarkably consistent throughout his public career.

Pence said Graham also played an important role in encouraging NATO allies to increase defense spending during the first Trump administration, while remaining one of Israel's fiercest advocates on Capitol Hill.

For Pence, however, Graham's final legislative push is inseparable from one of their last conversations together.

He still remembers the meeting vividly.

Pence and his wife, Karen, had just landed at Reagan National Airport and were making their way through the terminal when they spotted Graham heading toward another gate.

As he almost always did, Graham began by asking about Pence's family.

The senator wanted updates on Pence's son, a Marine Corps fighter pilot, and his son-in-law, a Navy fighter pilot. Pence said Graham never forgot to ask about them.

But after briefly catching up, the conversation shifted to the issue occupying Graham's attention in his final months.

"We went straight into a conversation about Ukraine sanctions," Pence recalled.

Pence thanked Graham for leading the effort and mentioned a Wall Street Journal opinion piece supporting tougher sanctions against Russia.

Graham immediately leaned in.

"He did one of those — puts his finger in my chest — and said, 'You just stay on this. This is the way we're gonna get this done. This is the way you bring Putin to the table.'"

The two men embraced before heading toward separate gates.

"We parted with a handshake and a hug," Pence said.

Looking back, Pence said that brief airport encounter perfectly captured the man he had known for decades.

Graham enjoyed talking about family and could always be counted on for a joke, Pence said, but the personal conversation rarely lasted long before he returned to public policy.

"He was a very serious legislator," Pence said. "He was a man who was deeply committed to policy."

Pence said Graham's convictions never changed, whether the issue was supporting the military, standing with Israel, protecting unborn life or confronting authoritarian regimes like Russia, Iran and China.

"He never wavered," Pence said.

The former vice president said he learned of Graham's death Sunday morning and remains deeply saddened by the loss of someone he first came to know during the Republican Revolution of the 1990s before serving alongside him in Congress and later in the Trump administration.

"I was taken aback by the news," Pence said. "I really, really have a heavy heart to this hour."

Pence said he hopes lawmakers finish the work Graham dedicated years to advancing.

"I really do believe there would be no more fitting tribute to the life and vision of Senator Lindsey Graham than for Congress to pass and the president to sign the tough Russia sanctions bill," Pence said.

"I'm going to continue to champion that in the days ahead."

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Monica Lewinsky is reflecting on her experience with shame and how she was able to overcome it.

During a recent episode of her podcast, "Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky," the 52-year-old activist spoke with actress Jamie Lynn Sigler about her memoir, "And So It Is...: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope," with Lewinsky telling her the title resonated with her.

"It's such a big part of reclaiming, actually. You really can't move through all the steps until you've had acceptance," she said. "A lot of my progress during my dark decade really came about from integration and being able to integrate like, 'OK, I couldn't leave Monica Lewinsky the White House intern in the past,' like I had to find a way to not be ashamed and bring her with me, all the things. And so you can't integrate until you've accepted."

She said there was "so much work" that went into her journey of self-acceptance and integrating the two versions of herself, noting, "It's hard enough out there. How do I make it not so hard in here?"

Having experienced such intense scrutiny in the public eye, she can "appreciate" when her friends approach her "when they're in a state and need connection and need to be heard and that it doesn't feel like a burden."

"I have to remind myself because I feel those things so often, and I think, especially in my kind of dark decade, it was really hard because I felt like there was no … it wasn't a wave like, 'Oh, I'm in this bad place, but now this good thing happened.' And that sort of it just felt like it was always bad. And when you thought it couldn't get worse, it got worse."

Looking back, Lewinsky said what she experienced is still "pretty miraculous" to her and leads her to think about "awful things" that happen to people "and how we hold them and what they end up being able to provide."

"Pre-'98, I was a really good disassociater," she explained. "I had a really rich fantasy life. Not that I fantasized making things up, you know what happened, which people accused me of for a while, but it's those things saved me."

When speaking with Fox News Digital in May, Lewinsky bluntly admitted, "There have been some very dark moments," and that she wouldn't "sugarcoat" her experiences.

She went on to say that she "was severely impacted by having billions of strangers thinking negatively about me," and that part of her healing journey involved "energy work."

"I've done an enormous amount of energy work for 20 years, which, if there are any woo-woo people in the room or anybody who saw 'The Secret,' you remember about this idea of energy coming toward you and negative thoughts being ... energy coming toward you," Lewinsky said.

She's been surprised by how seriously soccer fans take their rituals, but not by the love of the sport making its way into other aspects of their lives.

"Absolutely it turns people on. I think that a lot of the passion that fans have for their teams spills into passion in other ways," Skylar said.

"They're excited, they're celebrating, they're emotional and I definitely notice that. When all you are thinking about is soccer and the World Cup for weeks, of course it's going to become a part of your fantasies."

"My body truly was my asset as a football player," Brady recalled.

"So you're right, I was very lucky over a period of time to learn a lot of disciplines that allowed me to take the field feeling very healthy, feeling energized and excited about going out there to try to, you know, win some football games."

Brady wants to bring that same blueprint to people who don't have access to an NFL-caliber support system.

"But when I retired, I realized that there's a lot of people in life that maybe they're not professional athletes, but to a degree, we all are living athletic lifestyles," he said. "We wanna be healthy. We wanna play with our kids. We wanna play with grandkids."

Brady also praised the impact GLP-1 medications have had on helping people begin improving their health.

"There's no debate about the way that this medicine is working right now in terms of keeping people and getting people on their wellness journey started," Brady stated. "And then we do a great job keeping them on that journey."

To Brady, whether the goal is winning the QB1 job or improving someone's health, success comes down to focusing on fundamentals.

A Florida congressional candidate and former U.S. Marine is facing backlash after posting a video calling President Donald Trump "the Antichrist" and saying the president "must be killed."

William Upham, a Republican write-in candidate for Florida's 5th Congressional District who describes himself on X as a prosecutor "running to fix a broken political system," opens the nearly seven-minute video by saying he entered the race to restore bipartisanship, return power to the working class and "fix our broken political system."

The tone quickly shifts, however, as Upham says he has come to believe the country is "broken" and that America is engaged in a spiritual battle.

Later in the video, Upham urges viewers to question whether they are "worshiping a false idol" before concluding, "President Trump is the Antichrist. And he will be killed and sent to hell. God will prevail against evil."

The U.S. Marine Corps quickly condemned Upham, saying he was medically discharged May 30, 2025.

"The Marine Corps is aware of the disturbing statements made by William Upham," the service wrote on X. "The comments made by Upham are a direct violation of the oath he swore to uphold and are not in keeping with the service's values."

TRUMP FACES UNPRECEDENTED THIRD ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

The U.S. Secret Service also acknowledged the comments in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the comments made by a congressional candidate in Florida, and we investigate anything that can be perceived as a threat toward one of our protectees," a spokesperson said. "Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence."

Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao also condemned the remarks, writing on X, "Unacceptable. William Upham is no longer a Marine and does not represent our values or ethos."

Imagine going to someone's house for dinner, and they're like, "Yeah, we once used that bowl the salad is in to give our kid a bath."

It wouldn't matter if it happened decades earlier; your appetite would be gone.

I'm sure it's given a good scrub afterward... or they just hit it with a garden hose.

Los Angeles journalist goes viral keeping calm while a cockroach crawls over her during on-air report

Los Angeles KTLA 5 news reporter Rachel Menitoff went viral Wednesday after a late-night report featuring an unwanted pest.

During Menitoff's live report in Sherman Oaks on an ongoing heat wave Tuesday night, a cockroach appeared to land on Menitoff's stomach before crawling across her neck and chest.

"And it’s a lot more comfortable at this hour, but we’re still in the 80s here in the Valley," Menitoff said. "So, overnight temperatures aren’t necessarily dropping, and this leads to less recovery time from the daytime heat."

Despite the insect's arrival, Menitoff continued her report unfazed as the bug jumped onto her microphone and proceeded to fly away.

Menitoff’s colleagues covered the video the next morning, sharing video of the reporter after the live shot ended, where she began to brush the bug off of her.

The morning reporters praised Menitoff's on-air composure, joking that they would not have remained as calm as she was in the same situation.

"That’s our Rachel Menitoff, who is so professional," anchor Megan Henderson said. "She kept her cool. There’s no way I would have been able to keep going."

"I have to hand it to her. She was really calm," reporter Eric Spillman said.

"That’s terrifying," meteorologist Kirk Hawkins said. "Now we’re all going to have nightmares about flying cockroaches."

In a KTLA interview, Menitoff described that she was aware of the cockroach crawling over her but was concerned that she would not be unable to complete the report if she took action.

"I said to myself, ‘Just get through this moment and then kind of shake it off,’" Menitoff said.

"Ironically, the story was about the extreme heat in the Valley, and these cockroaches are attracted to the heat and the warm temperatures and our camera lights," she added. "So, it was sort of the perfect environment for the roaches."

Fox News Digital reached out to Menitoff for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

The clip was shared across social media by journalists and commentators who both praised Menitoff's composure and criticized Los Angeles' unclean conditions.

'She saw dollar signs': Former Obama counsel pressed over years-long Epstein ties

Former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler faced a bipartisan grilling in the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday with members of the panel questioning her account of her years-long relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Ruemmler, who recently resigned as Goldman Sachs' top lawyer amid scrutiny over her ties to Epstein, voluntarily appeared for a closed-door interview as part of the committee's probe into Epstein and his longtime associate, convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Lawmakers in both parties dismissed her claim that her relationship with Epstein was limited, while Democrats argued she should have been interviewed under oath.

"She was desperately trying to distance herself from Epstein, but the reality is, we have the emails," Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, D-Va., a member of the oversight panel, told Fox News Digital. "It's very clear that she had a pretty friendly relationship with him."

"Even when we presented her with the emails, all she could say was that she either showed poor judgment or that her jokes about his massages were in poor taste," he said. "She also admitted that she knew about the massages. She just didn't know that they were underage girls."

"She knew that this wasn't a man of good character, certainly, and someone who is a sex offender and registered as such," he went on. "But she saw dollar signs, and she decided that she would overlook all that because he was rich and powerful."

Wednesday’s interview came after emails released by the Justice Department showed that she met with Epstein numerous times and exchanged emails and gifts years after he was convicted of soliciting a minor in 2008.

The two first connected in 2014 while Ruemmler was a partner at the law firm Latham & Watkins and continued their relationship into 2019.

Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Ruemmler has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has said she was unaware of any criminal conduct by Epstein during the years they were in contact.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., also called Ruemmler’s relationship with Epstein "very concerning."

"Looking at the communication between Ruemmler and Epstein is how she tried and worked as hard as anyone — well I would say more than anyone — and tried to rehabilitate his image after he was convicted of solicitation of a minor," he said. "So this is someone that was very close with Epstein."

In conversations with reporters, House Oversight Committee ranking member Robert Garcia, D-Calif., also questioned Ruemmler’s testimony to the panel.

"I think it is difficult to see how she's being completely truthful in there with the answer that she's giving the committee," Garcia said.

"She made the decision to have an ongoing personal friendship and relationship with someone that had been accused and convicted of sexual assault with a minor, and she has no explanation as to why she chose to continue that relationship," he continued.

'Baywatch' star Carmen Electra shares what men must avoid when pursuing middle-aged women

Carmen Electra went back to her roots.

In a new interview with Playboy, the 54-year-old model and actress answered fan questions, and gave her insight into what it's like dating as you get older and gave men advice on what they should and shouldn't do when trying to get the attention of a middle-aged woman.

"We do appreciate texting or calling appropriately," she said. "What you really need to do is make sure you don’t call her and say, ‘Hey, come meet me at a bar right now,’ when it’s midnight. That’s a huge no-no."

She also gave some advice to women looking to date after a divorce, letting them know if they are in their "'40s, you’re still so young" and that they "need to go have fun, keep having fun and live your life."

Electra is speaking from experience because she's has been married twice — once to NBA star Dennis Rodman in 1998, a marriage that was annulled a few months later, and then again to musician Dave Navarro from 2003 until their divorce was finalized in 2007. At this point in her life, she is looking for someone to pursue her.

"I’m old-fashioned, so I prefer if the man makes the first move, although I have been known to do a little walk, sway the hips a little bit, you know, bat my eyelashes a little like a butterfly, and keep on walking. If they are really interested in you, they’ll talk to you or slip you their number."

The "Scary Movie" actress spoke to Fox News Digital in February and reflected on how to keep the spark alive in relationships.

She shared that, in her experience, it is important to choose a romantic partner "that you love being with" because doing so is "definitely what's gonna keep the spark live anyway."

"So someone that — you just love their spirit, you love who they are as a person, someone that's not a downer. I like artists, like people that are into art, whatever their art may be, all that good stuff."

She first posed for the magazine in 1996, returning one year later in June 1997. Her appearance in the magazine caught the eye of Hollywood executives, and she was soon cast on "Baywatch" for its eighth season in 1997.

"Once I saw the photos I was ... I had to pinch myself. I couldn't believe that I was actually in the magazine and going to be a part of such an iconic time, being a part of Playboy in general," she told Fox News Digital in November 2019.

"Marilyn Monroe started off with Playboy, and those are the women that I admire and truly have been inspired by. So, yeah, Playboy was a lot of fun. ... And I'm not shy at all anymore, by the way."

Prior to appearing on the pages of the magazine this year, Electra looked back to her Playboy roots on the red carpet at the 35th Anniversary of The Abbey Food & Bar in May.

She posed for photos at the event in a leopard-print bodysuit, which she paired with a matching pair of bunny ears.

Brandel Chamblee torches Bryson DeChambeau for missed cuts in majors ahead of The Open: 'chasing Grant Horvat'

Bryson DeChambeau was ascendant in the world of golf after winning the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst. He beat out Rory McIlroy with a remarkable bunker shot on the 72nd hole, making the short putt to win his second U.S. Open Championship.

But it's been a bit of a mixed bag for DeChambeau, at least in majors, ever since. In 2025, he finished T5 at The Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship, then missed the cut at the U.S. Open at Oakmont before rebounding with a T10 at The Open at Royal Portrush.

Hardly an embarrassment, but missing a cut as defending U.S. Open champion was a significant disappointment. But in 2026 though? Well, embarrassment might be the most apt phrase to describe his performance.

Three major starts at Augusta, Aronimink, and Shinnecock, three missed cuts. Though he was just over the cutline at the U.S. Open, along with quality players like Viktor Hovland, Patrick Reed, and Harris English. For a player of DeChambeau's caliber, that's unacceptable, to put it mildly.

It also leaves just one major tournament remaining for him to salvage some pride and put in a performance worthy of his talent. Except some of golf's most prominent commentators are the exact opposite of confident that he'll be able to do so.

"I'd say it to his face — DeChambeau has zero clue of strategy," said golf legend Nick Faldo, who does not believe he'll succeed at a links-style golf course like Royal Birkdale. "He said last year: 'I'm going to go out and attack the links'. Well, I've never attacked a links [course]. You thread it, don't you? You feed it down the fairway."

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU MAY TURN FULL-TIME YOUTUBER, PART-TIME PROFESSIONAL GOLFER

That criticism, though? Pales in comparison to what analyst Brandel Chamblee had to say about DeChambeau's recent performances.

"Probably one of the biggest surprises of the year is Bryson DeChambeau," Chamblee said this week. "It's almost like he went from chasing Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to chasing Grant Horvat. It's like he wants to outdo every YouTuber in the game of golf instead of outplay everybody in the game of golf."

Ouch.

Grant Horvat, for those unfamiliar, is one of the most prominent names in YouTube Golf and has made several videos with DeChambeau on both their channels. He's a very, very good golfer, and also far, far behind players like Scheffler or McIlroy.

So is this criticism fair? Well, yes and no.

DeChambeau opened himself up to this type of critique by going to LIV. Because he plays most of his competitive golf on a different tour that has less exposure and doesn't feature the same players, the only opportunity most commentators have to measure his level of play relative to Scheffler and McIlroy comes in majors. When you don't play well in those opportunities, there will be talk that you've lost a step.

He also, famously, does things his own way. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and most traditional golf purists would prefer that everyone do things the way they've always been done. Or at least, always been done in the modern era. DeChambeau, though, has 3D-printed single-length irons, uses shafts from upstart companies and has a unique chipping and putting technique that can be off-putting.

On the other hand, he established himself as one of the best 3-4 players in the world in 2024, all while making YouTube videos. Three top-10's, including a T2, in majors in one season is hardly a disappointment. He was making YouTube videos then too.

Has DeChambeau been at his best in 2026? Of course not. Has he had the best links strategy? No, definitely not. Does he spend much of his free time making YouTube golf videos? Also yes. Still, he finished T10 at Royal Portrush, ahead of English players more traditionally associated with links strategy like Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose. He's also dealt with several injuries this season, which might be impacting his ability to compete at an elite level.

Still, golf is performance based. And DeChambeau can silence all the critics by playing well this weekend. And then going to make a YouTube video with Grant Horvat.

Lindy Li, a former top Democratic fundraiser, believes President Joe Biden is only doing himself a disservice by promising the public another explanation of why he decided to run for re-election in 2024 despite mounting concerns about his age and cognitive performance.

In her view, Biden’s upcoming memoir, "Promise Me, America," will only serve to reopen painful wounds that Democrats have struggled to move past since the 2024 election loss. In a way, she believes the book is a bit of a microcosm of Biden’s presidency.

"They’re thinking, ‘Why can’t you just shut the f--- up?’ Prior to me leaving the party, they wanted nothing to do with this guy. It was so bad that when, finally, Biden exited on July 21, there was no goodbye party other than a staffer one in the Rose Garden. There was nothing," Li said.

"Jill has him writing books that no one wants to read instead of fully enjoying his retirement," Li said, referring to Jill Biden, the former first lady.

"Just like she had him out running for president — a presidency that no one wanted, not even Democrats — instead of enjoying his retirement. He should have been in retirement 10, 20 years ago, but they need the money."

Biden described his upcoming book in a post to X Wednesday morning.

"It’s about the challenges we face as a nation. About the decisions I made and why I made them," Biden said, igniting mockery on social media. "It’s about why I chose to run for reelection and why I chose to step aside."

"The first lie of Joe Biden’s book launch: ‘I’ve written a book,’" conservative communicator Steve Guest wrote.

"Joe Biden couldn’t sign his own pardons. Now he’s ‘written’ a book, which Democrats forced him to release after the midterms so he wouldn’t be in the news to remind people how bad he was," wrote Outkick founder Clay Travis. "Who in the world is buying this book?"

"Who do we think wrote this book," Daily Wire editor-in-chief Brent Scher wondered.

"Did the autopen write this too," Missouri Republican Rep. Jason Smith questioned.

Li, who is publishing a new book of her own, "Unburdened," later this year, was privy to many of the party’s internal discussions, research and panic behind the scenes, which indicated Biden enjoyed only shaky support even among his own camp long before he ultimately dropped out of the 2024 election.

In light of what she knows, Li doubts there is a way for Biden to spin his exit that won’t do further harm to his own image, an image his campaign went to great lengths to protect.

Li recalled how the Biden campaign confiscated her phone at a 2023 event.

"The [Democratic National Committee] was routinely confiscating the phones of top donors with social media followings," Li said, referring to a party fundraising and campaign group.

"They took away my phone because they knew I was a prolific tweeter. And I posted something on Instagram that night, and a finance director from the DNC called me at around 10 or 11 that same night to instruct me to delete everything from Instagram about Biden that I posted that day.

"The reason is because [Biden] seemed infirm. He seemed weak."

Now on this side of his presidency, Li believes he will further aggravate Democrats who have wanted to move past the 2024 election and reignite questions of why Biden wasn’t asked to step aside sooner.

"It's very clear they were trying to hide the fact that instead of having a candidate they could be proud of, they were busy hiding a candidate that they were deeply ashamed of," she added.

Argentina stuns England with thrilling comeback to advance to World Cup final against Spain

Argentina, never say die.

Once again, the Argentines came from behind, this time against England, to win 2-1 in the World Cup semifinal and keep the dream of repeating as champions alive. Argentina was held off the scoresheet for 85 minutes, and finally broke through when Lionel Messi set up Enzo Fernandez just outside of the penalty box, and the 25-year-old hooked a shot around England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford into the back of the net to knot it at 1-1.

Lautaro Martinez then played the hero as he came off the bench and into Argentine soccer lore by scoring the winning goal in stoppage. In the 92nd minute, Messi recorded his second assist after he gathered a loose ball and played a beautiful pass into the penalty area, where Martinez was waiting unmarked. Martinez headed the ball past Pickford to send the Argentine fans into a frenzy as they completed the comeback.

England tried to tie it with the remaining stoppage time, but they were unable to muster up a quality chance.

The first half was largely uneventful, as it was the first game since 1966 in which neither team recorded a shot in the first half, according to the FOX broadcast.

Anthony Gordon got the scoring started when he buried a cross from Morgan Rogers to put England on the board first in the 55th minute with an acrobatic finish. Harry Kane sparked the counter with a long pass that left the Argentina defense flummoxed for the first time all game.

However, that would end up being the lone true scoring opportunity of the game for the Three Lions. After England got on the board, Argentina's pressure was relentless, but England was able to stave off the Argentine attack for about 30 minutes.

England defender Djed Spence made a fantastic tackle in the 58th minute to help keep Argentina off the board after a breakaway from Giuliano Simeone.

Argentina goalie Emilio Martinez came up big in the 66th minute by making his first save of the game on Declan Rice to keep the score 1-0 and avoid putting Argentina in a multi-goal hole. After the save, Argentina quickly countered and went back on the attack.

Pickford, England's all-time leader in games played at the World Cup, made a remarkable save on the goal line with a header from Nicolás González just before the hydration break to preserve England’s 1-0 lead.

Alexis Mac Allister kept the pressure on for Argentina when his header in the 76th minute rang off the post. Pickford made his fourth save of the game when he clipped Fernandez's shot in the 86th minute, but the Argentine broke through later in the minute.

Off a corner kick, Messi set up Fernandez just outside of the box, and the 25-year-old hooked a shot around Pickford into the back of the net.

With the win, Argentina has the opportunity to become the first back-to-back World Cup winner since Brazil did it in 1958 and 1962.

Kelly Bensimon says she's lucky to be alive after horror head-on crash left her unconscious

Kelly Bensimon said she was "lucky" to be alive after a horror head-on crash sent the Uber carrying her and celebrity chef Andrew Molen spinning.

Bensimon and Molen detailed the terrifying moments after an oncoming vehicle slammed into the Uber carrying them, describing a violent impact that left the former "Real Housewives of New York City" star briefly unconscious and both hospitalized.

"I’m lucky to have walked away alive," Bensimon told Page Six.

"My right arm is a mess," the real estate agent added. "My head went straight into the back of the seat. It was really bad. I was unconscious for a couple seconds. I was freaking out. I thought I broke my arm."

The reality star said the violent impact left her disoriented and in agony.

"I am totally out of it, I am in so much pain," she said. "My head went back and banged [Andrew] on his chin. There were makeup marks on the airbag."

While Bensimon focused on the injuries she suffered, Molen described the frightening chain of events that unfolded in the seconds leading up to the collision.

Molen recalled seeing the car coming at them and yelling, "brake, brake."

"[The other car] came straight on," Molen claimed. "You didn’t hear brakes screech. He came straight in at full blast. We got hit so hard. Kelly went flying. I hit the ceiling. Airbags went off. There was dust everywhere."

"Kelly was out cold. She kept falling back," he said, "The car spun."

The crash didn't just leave Molen shaken. He said it also sidelined him professionally, forcing him to cancel five events as he dealt with lingering pain from the collision.

"I am in a lot of pain," he said. "They had to help us into ambulances."

The crash came less than a year after Bensimon faced another frightening health scare.

The 58-year-old underwent a three-hour surgery to remove her breast implants after one ruptured. Doctors also tested her tissue for cancer, leaving her anxiously awaiting the results.

"It was a really, really difficult time," Bensimon told In Touch. "While you're resting, you're thinking, 'Do I have something? Am I going to be OK?'"

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar misses the point on Caitlin Clark and the face of the WNBA debate

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has every right to think A’ja Wilson is a better basketball player than Caitlin Clark.

A lot of people do, and I'm not here to argue they're wrong.

Wilson is a four-time WNBA MVP, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, eight-time All-Star and three-time league champion. There’s no argument that Clark’s professional résumé is as robust as Wilson’s.

But that isn't the same argument as saying Wilson is the "face of the league" and Caitlin Clark is not.

That's where Kareem is very, very wrong.

Abdul-Jabbar wrote on his Substack about the letter sent by 11 Republican lawmakers to the WNBA asking commissioner Cathy Engelbert to address the physical treatment Clark has received on the court. The letter called Clark "the face of your league," which apparently bothered Kareem quite a bit.

He called Clark "a very good, possibly even a great, player," but argued that labeling one player the face of the league without the "on-court and cross-platform dominance" of Michael Jordan or LeBron James is insulting to other great players.

OK, fine. But Kareem is leaving out some critical context.

LeBron James did not have LeBron James’ résumé when fans decided he was the face of the NBA.

LeBron was on the cover of Sports Illustrated as "The Chosen One" while he was still in high school. He entered the NBA with a massive Nike contract, national television attention and the full weight of the basketball world already on his shoulders before he played a single minute in the league.

He won Rookie of the Year in 2003-04, but he didn't win his first MVP until the 2008-09 season. He didn't win his first championship until 2012.

In other words, what on-court accomplishments is Kareem talking about? When James was in his third NBA season, as Clark is now, the commercial anointing had already happened, even though championships and MVPs were still years away.

The Cavaliers didn't make the playoffs in either of his first two seasons. Clark, meanwhile, helped a Fever team that had missed the playoffs seven straight seasons reach the postseason in her rookie year. And, like LeBron, she was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft and won Rookie of the Year.

So what exactly is the standard?

Kareem is using the finished version of LeBron to argue against the early version of Clark. That's convenient, but intellectually dishonest. The NBA didn't wait for LeBron to become a champion before treating him like the sport’s next great commercial engine.

Remember "The Decision"? LeBron had an entire television special dedicated to his free agency in 2010. What were his accomplishments to that point? Two MVPs and zero championships.

Now, two MVPs isn't nothing. But he had never won a title and had been swept in his only NBA Finals appearance. The season prior to "The Decision," LeBron's Cavs were bounced in the second round of the playoffs. And ESPN still turned his free agency into a television event, the only TV special anyone can name dedicated to one player choosing his next team.

Nike signed 18-year-old LeBron James to a historic deal worth a guaranteed $87 million over seven years before he stepped foot on an NBA court.

As for the fans, James' No. 23 Cavaliers jersey was the top-selling jersey during his rookie season and helped the NBA shatter its previous merchandise sales records.

The media, Nike and fans didn't wait for LeBron to pile up championships, MVPs and other accolades before anointing him "the face of the league."

Does all of this sound familiar? It should.

WNBA WANTS A BIGGER STORY THAN CAITLIN CLARK, BUT TV RATINGS KEEP POINTING BACK TO HER

Clark won WNBA Rookie of the Year and set the WNBA single-season assists record. She set rookie records for points and made threes. She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds as a rookie.

Oh, and she easily led the league in jersey sales and boosted WNBA television viewership to levels it had never seen.

That doesn't make her Michael Jordan or LeBron James.

It also doesn't mean she is a better player than A’ja Wilson.

But "face of the league" is not the same as best player. It simply refers to the business reality.

And the business reality is obvious to anyone not trying desperately to pretend otherwise.

When Clark plays, people watch. Recently, she helped the league set a late-night regular-season viewership record, with Fever-Sparks averaging 1.04 million viewers across USA Network and CNBC for a game starting at 10 p.m. ET or later. That is the kind of audience the league could only dream about prior to her arrival.

That didn't happen because of A'ja Wilson, who has been in the WNBA since 2018. Clark helped a late-night regular-season game on cable draw more than one million viewers. Game 4 of Wilson’s 2022 WNBA Finals, when the Aces won their first championship, drew less than 400,000 viewers on ESPN

So Clark's Fever averaged more than two-and-a-half times as many viewers for a regular season game in mid-July starting at 10 p.m. ET as Wilson's team drew for the 2022 WNBA Finals clincher.

Clark is the one who brought millions more people into the tent. Thanks to Clark, far more people know who A'ja Wilson is today. It's not the other way around.

Tim Duncan won five NBA championships and collected two league MVPs and three NBA Finals MVPs. He was an excellent basketball player. But he was never considered the "face of the league."

Allen Iverson, a contemporary of Duncan, was a much bigger cultural force and has a stronger claim to "face of the league" in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Iverson won one MVP and zero championships. Except no one was complaining about Iverson being more popular than Duncan among fans. Everyone understood that it just happens sometimes.

That's why the blowback against Clark is so revealing.

There is a growing group of people who seem almost offended by the idea that Clark matters this much. They don't just want to argue that Wilson is better, they want to downplay Clark’s impact.

Let's return to Kareem's diatribe for a perfect example.

Kareem, like many in the media (and in the WNBA itself), tried to shift the conversation away from the abuse Clark is suffering on the court to the online abuse suffered by Black players. Recall that Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, Fever coach Stephanie White and WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert all used the same tactic.

Thomas, who drove her fist into Clark's throat, immediately claimed she was receiving racial insults and death threats on social media. She did not publicly provide evidence of either claim in that immediate response. White and Engelbert quickly acted to condemn online trolling, but stayed mostly quiet about the actual incident on the court where Thomas flagrantly fouled Clark.

Another recent example involved Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray. She posted a message she received on social media that contained a racial slur.

Gray said she received the message after the Aces played the Fever, and Hilton Grand Vacations said the accused employee was no longer with the company.

Here's what Kareem wrote: "To the people in Congress and the commissioner’s office: take the constant, deliberate, and premeditated online abuse of players as seriously as you take the occasional incidents that occur on the court in the heat of the moment. We have systems in place for dealing with what happens to players during the game, but we need to get better at helping them when the games are over."

What, exactly, is Kareem's point here? That Congress should step in and stop people from hurling racially charged insults on the internet? That's a direct violation of the First Amendment.

Is he suggesting the WNBA should step in and start policing internet trolls? Good luck.

The league has infinitely more control over what happens between the lines than what happens on social media (where they have zero control). It controls the officials, the discipline, and the messages it sends to players in the league.

That's what lawmakers were asking about.

Kareem can disagree with the framing of the letter or even the value of sending it in the first place. He's certainly not alone.

But using DMs sent by trolls to minimize the on-court treatment of the league’s biggest star is a dodge.

And it keeps happening.

Kareem is right about one thing: Caitlin Clark is not Michael Jordan or LeBron James.

At least not yet.

But if he wants to use LeBron as the example, then he has to stick to the timeline. LeBron was anointed before he won anything. He was made the face of the future because everyone could see where the sport was headed.

That's exactly what's happening with Clark. She is the face of the WNBA.

The people so fervently arguing otherwise are actually proving the point, even if they don't realize it.

Skenes said he buzzed her tower, meaning he threw high and inside to his girlfriend.

It wouldn't be "talking season" without a little bulletin board material, and that's exactly what Florida State fans and players alike got at the opening rounds of ACC Media Days on Wednesday.

To set the scene, On3 ranked their top ten quarterbacks in the Atlantic Coast Conference heading into 2026, featuring plenty of familiar names and hyped-up newcomers in the world of college football.

Depending on who you ask, however, one name was conspicuously absent from the list.

While guys like Darian Mensah and C.J. Bailey are givens, FSU quarterback Ashton Daniels feels like he belonged somewhere in the top-ten.

The Auburn transfer was asked about the perceived snub from On3 at Media Days on Wednesday in Charlotte, and the senior signal caller did not mince words.

On one hand, Daniels may have a legitimate gripe.

Seeing names like Christopher Vizzina and Lincoln Kienholz make the top-ten with virtually no experience has to hurt, especially with standout performances against ranked teams like Vanderbilt and Alabama on his resume (albeit in losses).

The experienced quarterback put up a combined 612 yards and three touchdowns through the air against both the Tide and Commodores in 2025, and he has over 700 passing attempts in his career.

With that being said, his supporting cast at Auburn featured two top-end wide receivers catching the ball in Eric Singleton Jr. and Cam Coleman, and outside of standout Deuce Robinson, Daniels may not have the same firepower to turn to in Tallahassee.

It's also worth noting that Daniels has a 24-22 touchdown-to-interception ratio for his career and has never averaged over seven yards per attempt in a season.

It is clear, however, that Daniels — and Florida State as a whole — will have to earn any respect they get by going out and proving themselves on the field.

A 7-17 record over the last two seasons doesn't earn anyone the benefit of the doubt, and although Daniels wasn't a part of those messes, they are the messes that he inherited when he signed up to play for head coach Mike Norvell.

If Daniels can go out and lead the Seminoles to eight wins and, perhaps more miraculously, buy Norvell some more time in northwest Florida, I'm sure the folks at On3 will be more than happy to eat plenty of crow come December.

Drunk wrong-way driver killed Mass trooper after 9 drinks at bar, DA report says

A drunken wrong-way driver who killed a Massachusetts state trooper in a head-on crash had been served nine alcoholic drinks at a restaurant before blowing past clear warning signs and plowing down a highway in the wrong direction, according to a newly released DA report.

Hernan Marrero, 50, of Roslindale, had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.192, which is more than twice the legal limit, when his Jeep Wrangler slammed head-on into Trooper Kevin Trainor’s cruiser around 2:04 a.m. on May 6 in Lynnfield, Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office said.

The crash killed both Marrero and Trainor, a 30-year-old state trooper from Georgetown.

A new report details Marrero’s final hours before the deadly wreck, saying he first stopped at a Waltham restaurant, where he bought food and received one complimentary drink before closing out his tab at 7:42 p.m. He then drove to Tribu Mexican Kitchen and Bar on Route 1 North in Saugus, where he sat at the bar at 9:15 p.m. and was served a margarita five minutes later, according to investigators.

Marrero later posted a photo of a margarita on social media with the caption, "Second stop!!!" the DA’s report said.

Between 9:20 p.m. and 12:53 a.m., he was served a total of nine alcoholic drinks at Tribu, investigators found.

The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has issued a notice to Tribu alleging multiple civil violations, including serving alcoholic drinks after hours and serving free drinks, according to the report. A hearing is scheduled for July 28.

The DA’s office said that after reviewing the case under applicable legal standards, criminal charges are "not sustainable."

Marrero left the Tribu parking lot at 1:56 a.m. and drove north on Route 1 for about 2.3 miles before entering a jughandle near Santarpio’s Pizza in Peabody that allows drivers to reverse direction onto Route 1 south.

But instead of properly entering the southbound side, Marrero grazed a guardrail, ran a red light and made too sharp a left turn before re-entering the northbound lanes while driving south, the report said.

Investigators said the area had clear and unobstructed "WRONG WAY," "DO NOT ENTER" and "ONE WAY" signs directing motorists not to enter Route 1 north from the jughandle.

Marrero then drove 1.8 miles southbound in the northbound lane.

A truck driver who saw the Jeep pass called 911, and another trooper broadcast a warning about the wrong-way driver to the State Police Danvers barracks and area cruisers, according to the report.

Trainor, who had just finished a public safety detail and clocked out at 1:52 a.m., had his cruiser radio on and set to the channel where the warnings were broadcast.

His cruiser was the first to encounter Marrero’s Jeep.

The vehicles collided head-on, with Trainor’s cruiser traveling between 60.4 and 68.6 mph and Marrero’s Jeep traveling between 56.4 and 61.4 mph at impact, investigators found.

Crash reconstructionists determined that Marrero’s wrong-way driving was not caused by any vehicle defect or problem with the posted signage.

Instead, they concluded that the crash was caused by Marrero’s actions and that his wrong-way operation of the Jeep resulted in both his own death and Trainor’s line-of-duty death.

Tucker said the evidence shows Trainor acted with "exemplary courage and self-sacrifice."

"His willingness to put his own life at risk to serve and protect the citizens of the Commonwealth likely prevented an even greater tragedy," Tucker said.

DOJ threatens criminal prosecution if publisher proceeds with Zachary Young spy memoir

FIRST ON FOX — The Department of Justice has threatened legal action and potential criminal prosecution if book giant HarperCollins proceeds with a planned spy memoir by Zachary Young, but the CIA-trained U.S. Navy veteran blasted the warning as "a blatant intimidation tactic."

Young, who beat CNN in a defamation lawsuit last year, has since teamed up with "American Sniper" co-author Scott McEwen for a memoir called "American Spy" for a book about his career working undercover in hostile environments and operating in the hidden world of international espionage.

Young, who signed a nondisclosure agreement during his time with the CIA, insists he informed his former employer that "American Spy" wouldn’t contain classified information and pointed out his involvement with the agency was already part of the public trial record after the CIA confirmed his background to CNN reporters.

However, the DOJ denied permission and ordered him to delete the manuscript altogether.

"It has come to the attention of this office that Mr. Zachary S. Young has prepared a draft manuscript which he intends for publication, and that the subject of this manuscript includes classified or other sensitive national security information. I write to inform you that Mr. Young is prohibited from publishing or disclosing this classified or sensitive national security information, which was known to him while he was employed with the United States," DOJ Federal Programs Branch Director Alexander Haas wrote in a June 26 letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

Haas wrote that Young is required to obtain permission from the United States before publishing or disclosing any information related to his former employment but failed to receive authorization and has been instructed to delete all copies of his "unapproved manuscript."

Haas noted that "Young agreed to comply with the provisions specified in a secrecy agreement both during his employment and following the termination of such employment for the rest of his life," and the Navy veteran is therefore "legally obligated to submit any writing covered by this secrecy agreement that he intends to disclose or publish to the relevant prepublication review entity directed by the United States."

"Proceeding with publication without providing the United States with the opportunity to review the manuscript potentially threatens national security," Haas wrote. "Failure to comply with the required prepublication review process and/or making prohibited disclosures of information subject to the applicable secrecy agreement may force the United States to seek additional measures, including, but not limited to, civil suits and referral of this matter to appropriate officials to consider criminal prosecution."

The Justice Department also made it clear that it plans to stop Young from profiting off the planned memoir.

Haas concluded the letter by stating, "At a minimum, well-established legal authority would entitle the United States to a constructive trust over all proceeds earned by Mr. Young in connection with an unauthorized publication or disclosure of information in breach of his secrecy agreements."

Young said that HarperCollins informed him Tuesday that it won’t move forward with the project until things are sorted out with the DOJ and CIA. But Young is furious and believes he has complied and hasn’t even been told what exactly the agency objects to.

"DOJ's letter was a blatant intimidation tactic, and it worked exactly as intended on my publisher. It won't work on me. I have cooperated with this process in good faith, and I take my NDA obligations seriously, but it is impossible to comply with a review process when the Agency refuses to identify a single passage they claim is classified," Young told Fox News Digital.

"The whole purpose of the prepublication review process is to work with former officers so mistakes don't happen. That's why I cooperated with it from the start and why I still want to. But that hasn't been the agency's position at all," Young continued. "Their position has been to shut everything down, presumably because they're embarrassed, and then threaten me and my publisher with lawsuits and criminal exposure. That's not good faith review. That's coercion."

Young said what "makes this especially hard to swallow" is that NewsBusters reported that the person who served as CIA public affairs director when Young’s affiliation was confirmed to then-CNN correspondent Alex Marquardt had previously worked for CNN from January 2017 to January 2020.

"That is a matter of record, proven in documents, and it happened before any of the CNN litigation began. The agency knew about the CNN trial and chose not to get involved, and now everything is publicly available," Young said.

"At this point, I don't think this is about classification at all," he continued. "I think it is about internal embarrassment."

The DOJ did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Young successfully alleged that CNN smeared him by implying he illegally profited when helping people flee Afghanistan on the "black market" during the Biden administration's military withdrawal from the country in 2021. During the trial, Young outlined his extensive training in tactics such as "brush passes" and other sophisticated ways to exchange sensitive information in hostile areas without being detected.

In 2025, a six-person jury decided Young was owed $4 million in lost earnings and $1 million in personal damages such as pain and suffering and said punitive damages were warranted against CNN. An undisclosed settlement was reached before punitive damages were decided by the jury.

"It was never my intention to write a book. I was never seeking attention. The last thing I ever wanted was to be dragged into litigation with one of the largest media entities on the planet, fight them for three years and have everything from my past dragged into the light. But I did," Young said.

Dems unite to boycott hearing on emerging threat facing America: 'Don’t want to know the truth'

The Democratic side of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee dais was empty Wednesday as Republicans questioned witnesses at a hearing on "Exposing Fraud in America," prompting GOP lawmakers to accuse the minority of ducking a politically uncomfortable issue.

Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., the ranking member on the committee, was the only Democrat present for the hearing’s opening statements. He asked a handful of questions before appearing to leave sometime before Chairman Rand Paul, R-Ky., addressed witnesses Nick Shirley, James O’Keefe and Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette.

Otherwise, the Democratic side of the dais was vacant.

Fox News Digital reached out to every Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, but none responded by press time. Fox News Digital also reached out to Paul for his reaction.

Republicans and conservative commentators quickly criticized the Democrats' absence amid ongoing scrutiny of fraud cases in Minnesota, California and other states.

Besides Peters, who did not stay for the main portion of the hearing, Democrats on the panel include senators John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Andy Kim of New Jersey and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan.

At one point, Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, pointed out the elephant — or donkey — missing from the room.

When Paul turned to call on Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., to offer his questions, Moreno said a Democrat is supposed to be given time to question witnesses after a Republican finishes.

"If there were a Democrat here, yes," Paul replied. "So, there's no Democrats present at a hearing about fraud," Moreno said, leading Paul to state for the record, "There doesn't appear to be a great deal of interest across the aisle."

The lack of attendance from the Democrats drew criticisms online.

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., labeled the no-show Democrats "cowards" in an X message.

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner asked Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., about the optics of Democrats’ half-circle of empty seats on Wednesday.

"They don’t want to know the truth about this. ... You look at these areas that have just basically turned a blind eye and have let people move forward with fraud," Blackburn said.

Blackburn previously introduced legislation that would make defrauding the federal government a denaturalizing and deportable offense, she said.

Florida political reporter Eric Daugherty commented that the Senate held an important "anti-taxpayer fraud meeting … with Nick Shirley and James O’Keefe, and … every single Democrat seat is empty."

"One hundred percent of Democrats on the committee were invited – 0% showed up. The party of fraud," Daugherty declared.

During the hearing, Shirley sounded off about what he and his reporting partner David Hoch discovered as they visited various, largely Somali-owned daycare center addresses in Minneapolis.

"When we talk about fraud, we are talking about money stolen from hardworking, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens," Shirley said.

"This issue has nothing to do with political parties, because no dollar says Republican or Democrat on it. When a fraudster commits fraud, he or she steals from all of us. The worst part is that fraud affects the most vulnerable and needy, as they rely the most on government services," he said, describing a 43-minute video he composed from touring such sites with Hoch in Minneapolis.

Shirley and Hoch’s work later earned them a State of the Union invitation from Rep. Pete Stauber, R-Minn.

With the Democratic dais vacant, Shirley noted that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced in January 2026 that he would not seek a third term, and the daycare organization with the highest level of government funding purportedly pleaded guilty to fraud and the largest "autism fraud" bust in history has occurred in Minnesota.

"Elon [Musk] was right when he said, ‘The fraudsters always complain the loudest,'" he said.

Retired math professor charged after wife, an airline meteorologist, found shot dead: cops

A retired math professor was charged after allegedly killing his wife, who was an airline meteorologist.

Police said officers responded to a home in Fair Oaks, Virginia, and found 60-year-old Chisen Jameson suffering from gunshot wounds. She had called 911 before the shooting, and officials said sounds consistent with gunfire could be heard in the background of the call, according to FOX 5.

64‑year‑old Leland Jameson was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Leland Jameson is a former professor at George Mason University and got his Ph.D. from Brown University.

The airline said in a statement it is heartbroken by the loss of Chisen Jameson.

"All Nippon Airways is heartbroken by the loss of our colleague. She was a valued member of our team and her passing has deeply affected everyone who knew and worked with her," a spokesperson for Japan's All Nippon Airways said.

The couple has two grown sons, both of whom also live in Northern Virginia.

JD Vance warns Joe Rogan a full Iran war would flood West with refugees, terrorists

Vice President JD Vance warned podcaster Joe Rogan in an interview published Wednesday that the administration is trying to establish a deal with Iran to stop a war and possible refugee crisis but claims a determined faction of the Republican Party wants to sabotage it at all costs.

"There are people who are super hawkish in the American system who have attacked the deal and, frankly, in some ways have tried to derail the deal. And what I always say to those people is, ‘What is your proposal? What is your actual argument?’" he said as he spoke to Rogan about the recent efforts to negotiate an end to the military conflict with Iran and prevent it from becoming a larger war.

He offered the Strait of Hormuz as one key example of how perilous the situation is, where Iran can shut down 25% of the world’s energy supply with cheap drones that are notoriously difficult to intercept.

Vance claimed some opposing Republicans and their allies who don't want negotiations ultimately want to "just bomb them to oblivion" or to somehow achieve regime change in Iran.

"But, look, what is our experience with doing that?" Vance responded.

"It’s not good," Rogan said.

"It’s not good," Vance agreed.

Vance argued that sending a ground invasion of 150,000 troops is "basically saying that the U.S. military should do the job for the Iranian people. We're not in that business anymore. We're just not."

The other outcome Vance warned of is "the Libya outcome," where, by the United States toppling dictator Moammar Gadhafi, "Libya basically turned into a failed state. You had a refugee crisis. You had people pouring into Europe, pouring into other parts of Asia, other parts of Africa. You had a lot of violence. A lot of terrorism came from that.

"I do think that there are people who would like that to be the outcome in Iran," Vance warned. "But then I say again, what is in our interest? How is it in the United States' interest to have 94 million desperate people flooding into Europe, flooding into the United States, to have the sort of terrorist infrastructure that can get established when you fan terrorists all over the world? We've run this experiment before."

Rogan recalled the theory that the downfall of Gaddafi was the spark that began the global migrant crisis flooding Europe in the 2010s.

"Exactly. That and Syria, another failed state that was created by bad Middle Eastern policy," Vance confirmed. "So, there is precedent for the United States doing this. Every time that it has happened, it's caused a refugee crisis. It's caused a spike in terrorism. And it's also, not incidentally to the moral considerations, it's led to a lot of innocent civilian deaths."

While Vance touted that Trump gathered a historic big tent coalition, he said the "hawkish" wing of it has repeatedly rebuked Trump when he wavers from their agenda.

"What has really annoyed me about the hawkish side of this thing is they attack any effort to negotiate. They attack the president. They attack me personally," he said, claiming they take the attitude of, "'Donald Trump is betraying me.'"

"Well, wait a second. If you want to have a hawkish policy towards Iran, the idea that Donald Trump has betrayed you because he's also trying to negotiate to get a good outcome for the American people is crazy," Vance replied.

He warned that, in the recent memorandum of understanding, there was an agreement that the United States would allow neighboring Gulf countries to invest $300 billion in Iran if it met its obligations. But the pro-interventionist faction of the Republican Party, he said, is deliberately lying and claiming the United States will be the one giving Iran $300 billion instead.

While the American people are in favor of their military being used to accomplish clear objectives, he said they have no appetite for open-ended wars like those of recent decades.

House Democrats fracture badly over Massie amendment to cut $3.3B in U.S. aid to Israel

Democrats split sharply over legislation to terminate aid to Israel, highlighting hardening attitudes toward the Jewish state as support for the Palestinian cause grows within party ranks.

House lawmakers voted 104-313 to reject an amendment that would have cut $3.3 billion in foreign aid to Israel for the next fiscal year in a vote that even split House Democratic leadership, which declined to whip members either way.

The hotly contested vote gave lawmakers their first chance this Congress to weigh in directly on taxpayer-funded aid to Israel.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., joined 97 other Democrats in opposing its elimination, while the chamber's second-ranking Democrat, Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass., joined 102 other Democrats in supporting the measure. Ten Democrats voted present.

DOZENS OF DEMS FLIP ON ISRAEL, VOTE TO BAN ARMS SALES IN PROTEST OF IRAN WAR

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., a leading Israel critic, offered the measure as an amendment to a State Department appropriations bill, calling the country the "biggest welfare recipient of the United States."

He was the lone Republican to support the amendment.

Opponents argued the measure would damage one of the United States’ most critical relationships in the Middle East amid the Iran war and hamper Israel's ability to combat terrorist organizations, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

"The same terrorists and terrorist entities that threaten Israel also threaten the United States and our people directly," Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., said Wednesday. "When we give Israel the tools and capabilities to eliminate these terrorist threats … we are making America and the American people safer."

The Florida Republican also noted that the vast majority of the funding is used by Israel to purchase American-made weaponry, supporting the U.S. industrial base.

Several prominent Democrats agreed, offering sharp criticism of the Massie amendment.

"This amendment would embolden the enemies of peace, those pursuing the complete elimination of Israel and those who seek the death of Jews," former House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said during debate on the measure.

Despite the Massie amendment failing overwhelmingly, supporters still took a victory lap.

"More Democrats than ever before voted to stop sending money to Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, despite the fact that this amendment was an imperfect vehicle for our movement," Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Greg Casar, D-Texas, said following the vote. "Tomorrow we get back to work to build a Democratic Party that spends taxpayer dollars on working people, not an out of control military abroad. We will win."

Jeffries, who announced his opposition to the Massie amendment during a closed-door meeting on Tuesday, argued the measure was poorly drafted. House Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., the third-ranking House Democrat, agreed.

"As written, it is overly broad in that it prohibits or would limit the use of funds for longstanding initiatives related to humanitarian aid, refugee resettlement, peace-building and U.S. Embassy operations," Jeffries wrote in a "Dear Colleague" letter, adding that U.S. policy toward Israel must change.

Clark, his deputy, and a bevy of Democrats rejected his position, arguing the country’s war in Gaza — an event some lawmakers have labeled a genocide — necessitated a need to end financial support to the Jewish state.

"If we hope to change Israel’s behavior, we must use our leverage," Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, said on the House floor. "The American people have seen this tragedy with their own eyes. … They do not support giving Israel more weapons."

Massie’s amendment did not include language preventing non-military aid from also being cut off.

"It's really bad for our ally, for our national security. They shouldn't be messing around like this," Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, told Fox News in June.

The Ohio Democrat also accused Republicans of putting the measure on the floor to expose divisions among his party.

Wednesday's vote comes as a growing number of Democrats take an increasingly hard line against Israel, according to recent polling.

An NBC News survey released in March found that 67% of Democratic voters have more sympathy for Gaza than Israel, while just 17% said the opposite.

Three socialists trounced establishment-aligned candidates in New York’s June primaries while largely running on opposition to Israel.

Meanwhile, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who supports terminating U.S. aid to Israel, was pressed to support Hamas’ Oct. 7 invasion of Israel during an interview with a leftist news outlet Tuesday.

Though Khanna declined to say the brutal attack was justified, the questioning was viewed by several Democratic commentators as reflective of growing hostility toward Israel within the party.

Given changing attitudes, some Democrats predicted Massie's amendment would draw significant support.

"I wouldn't be surprised if it was quite large because I don't think this is just an ideological issue. I don't think this is just a lefty thing," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., told Fox News. "I think this is affecting people all across the board."
