Fitness influencer's vacation getaway takes scary turn after headache leads to ICU

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 16:14:45 -0500

A 23-year-old fitness influencer's vacation took a frightening turn after she suddenly became seriously ill in Bali.

Australian fitness coach Khiana Smith said in a TikTok video that she was hospitalized after developing a severe headache and sensitivity to light. She later revealed in another video that she had been diagnosed with meningitis.

Smith said she knew something was wrong when she woke up with what she described as the "worst headache."

DEADLY LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE OUTBREAK SPARKS CONCERN IN MAJOR US CITY: KNOW THE SYMPTOMS

"I couldn't even get out of bed," Smith said in the TikTok video. "It was so intense I couldn't even open my eyes properly. I was really sensitive to light. I couldn't stand up without falling over."

She initially waited to see whether she would feel better, but said she woke up the following morning feeling "10 times worse." She was eventually taken to a hospital by ambulance, where testing revealed the infection.

Dr. Alfred Joshua, a California-based board-certified emergency room physician and former chief medical officer, told Fox News Digital that Smith's reported symptoms included several warning signs that should be taken seriously.

"She started having symptoms of severe headache, having difficulty with light," Joshua said. "And then she started having difficulty walking, and then eventually slurred speech."

Meningitis occurs when the protective layers surrounding the brain and spinal cord become inflamed, according to Joshua.

Symptoms can include headache, fever, stiff neck and sensitivity to light. Trouble walking or speaking, confusion and extreme tiredness are more serious signs that should prompt immediate medical attention, Joshua said.

The seriousness of the illness can also depend on what is causing it.

Joshua said viral meningitis often resolves on its own, while bacterial meningitis can progress rapidly and requires prompt treatment with antibiotics.

"Certain strains over a couple of hours [can cause] the person [to] get really, really sick," he said.

Doctors initially did not know whether her meningitis was bacterial or viral, according to Smith, so she was being treated for the bacterial form as a precaution.

Smith's condition later appeared to improve enough for her to leave the ICU, but she said she had to return after continuing to experience head pain, light sensitivity and slurred speech. She also reported memory loss, and said swelling in her brain was preventing her from flying home.

When meningitis is suspected, Joshua said doctors can use blood tests, brain imaging and a lumbar puncture to determine whether the infection is bacterial, viral or caused by something else.

Smith's experience has highlighted a concern for travelers who become seriously ill far from home.

Joshua said recommended vaccines can protect against some forms of bacterial meningitis, and advised travelers to consider insurance that includes medical evacuation coverage.

Smith's mother also stressed the importance of travel insurance, saying her daughter's hospital expenses were covered because she had purchased a policy before leaving Australia.

Joshua said worsening symptoms, including changes in speech, walking or other brain functions, should not be ignored.

"When symptoms are progressing in a more complicated manner with neurological dysfunction, do not wait and try to see this out," he said. "Go and seek prompt emergency treatment."

Knicks defend Taylor Swift's fandom after guard Tyler Kolek calls her support 'very performative'

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 16:13:34 -0500

The New York Knicks are taking no chances with pop star Taylor Swift’s allegiance to the franchise.

The team pushed back after Knicks guard Tyler Kolek questioned Swift's fandom, calling it fake, during a stream this week. In a statement sent to OutKick, a Knicks spokesperson said:

"Taylor Swift has been a Knicks fan for many years, has a long history with Madison Square Garden, and we are incredibly appreciative of her support of the organization."

ESPN'S MONICA MCNUTT APOLOGIZES TO TAYLOR SWIFT, BUT HER COMMENTARY FOLLOWS AN UGLY TREND

Asked to identify the "fakest" celebrity fan sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden following the Knicks' title run, Kolek was brutally honest.

"At the Knicks games, I would say it's very performative, because they want to be seen at the game," Kolek told teammate Deuce McBride during a recent livestream. "They're not necessarily fans."

When pressed for a name, Kolek pointed to Swift: "Maybe Taylor Swift? I don't know if I've seen her at any other games." Kolek paid homage to MSG royalty like Ben Stiller.

McBride clocked the landmine in real time, warning him that Swifties were already coming for his head.

In his third season in New York, the 25-year-old backup guard was on the Knicks’ 2026 championship roster. His Garden ties predate his NBA ring, having led Marquette to a Big East championship at MSG in 2023.

Swift's actual sightings at MSG have been rare: a 2003 halftime show at age 13, a 2014 courtside appearance with Carmelo Anthony and a 12-year gap before returning for the 2026 Finals. MSG also displayed "Just Married" after she and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce tied the knot at the arena in July.

Call it performative, but Swift moves the sports needle like no one else, and the Knicks weren’t about to let a backup point guard jeopardize that kind of clout.

I tested this FOX reader-favorite candle warmer lamp — now $20

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 16:05:30 -0500

As days get shorter, make cold evenings feel cozier with this FOX reader-favorite candle warmer lamp. It casts a warm glow while gently melting scented candles without an open flame. It’s currently 50% off, bringing the price down to $20. Shop the deal while it lasts.

Candle warmer lamp: $20 (50% off)

Original price: $40

I tested the candle warmer lamp in my own home, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. At first, I wondered why someone would use a warmer instead of simply lighting a candle. I quickly understood the appeal: There’s no open flame to monitor or worry about extinguishing before leaving the room. If I forget to turn it off, the automatic shutoff provides an added layer of convenience, which may be especially appealing to households with pets or young children.

Another unexpected benefit is that the warmer slowly melts the wax instead of burning through it with an open flame. In my experience, my candles last longer and remain usable until nearly all the wax has melted — not just until the wick burns out.

MAKE YOUR HOME COZIER FOR FALL WITH THESE UPGRADES UNDER $50

What makes this a good deal?

In addition to offering a flameless way to enjoy scented candles, this warmer adds a decorative touch with its fluted glass shade, brass-tone hardware and solid wood base. Its adjustable height accommodates candles of different sizes, while the wide base can hold three-wick candles. The controls include two-, four- and eight-hour timer settings, a dimmer and two halogen bulbs. At 50% off, the warmer costs just $20 — a strong value for its cozy glow, convenient design and slow, even wax melting.

What do reviewers think?

Amazon shoppers and FOX readers agree: This candle warmer lamp adds a decorative touch to counters and tabletops, may help candles last longer and offers a flameless way to enjoy their fragrance.

"I originally bought this candle warmer lamp as a gift for my sister-in-law, and she was fascinated by it," one five-star reviewer wrote. "The elegant design adds a cozy touch to any room. I ended up buying one for myself, too, because I love the warm, relaxing atmosphere it creates. It's a beautiful home decor accent and a wonderful gift."

Another reviewer said they noticed their candles lasted longer: "I've been using this daily on a candle for over a month, and it fills my home with subtle fragrance while the candle still looks brand new."

What could be better?

Wax can build up on the lampshade over time, but it’s easy to clean. Unplug the lamp and let it cool completely, then wipe the shade with a soft microfiber cloth. Gently lift any hardened wax with a plastic card or spatula, and avoid using water, metal tools or sharp objects near the lamp. Always check the product manual for model-specific care instructions.

Underdog Promo Code FOXNEWS: Play $10, get $50

Fri, 11 Sep 2026 20:26:01 -0400

New Underdog users can enter promo code FOXNEWS in November 2026 to play $10 and get $50 in bonus entries. It’s available to new customers in Underdog’s 42 legal states, and signing up takes just a few minutes.

Nine NBA Cup games are on tonight’s schedule, and the stakes go well beyond a single regular-season result. Thirty teams are spread across six groups of five, and each team faces the rest of its group once. When Group Play wraps, the six group winners and one wild card from each conference advance to the knockout rounds starting Dec. 4, with the championship on Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Because every team gets just four Group Play games, a single slip can end a Cup run before Thanksgiving, which is why these matchups feel more like playoff games than early-season tune-ups.

Only the six group winners and one wild card from each conference move on to the knockout rounds, which begin Dec. 4, and the championship will be played Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. With so few group games, one November loss can sink a team’s Cup hopes, so expect playoff-level intensity across the board.

This non-toxic cutting board is up to 40% off — and it even sharpens knives

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:55:19 -0500

Meal prep often means reaching for multiple kitchen tools — and cleaning them all afterward. The multipurpose Tibo Cutting Board combines several prep essentials into one: a titanium side for meat, poultry and fish, a wheat straw side for produce and other foods, plus a built-in ceramic knife sharpener. There’s even a textured area for grinding ingredients like garlic and ginger.

Unlike wood or bamboo boards, the nonporous surfaces are designed to resist warping and cracking and can be washed with hot, soapy water after use. Right now, FOX readers can save up to 40%.

Tibo Cutting Board: Starting at $50

Original price: $70

This two-sided cutting board gives you dedicated surfaces for prepping meat and produce, plus built-in tools for sharpening knives and grinding ingredients.

Use the titanium side for meat, poultry and fish, then flip the board over to the wheat straw surface for fruits, vegetables, bread and cheese. A groove around the edge helps contain juices and spills, while the textured grinding area gives you a convenient spot to prep garlic or ginger.

AMAZON'S HAVING A SALE ON NINJA, KEURIG AND MORE — UP TO 60% OFF

What makes this a good deal?

A single board starts at $49.99, down $20 from its original $69.99 price. Buying multiple boards increases the savings: Buy two and get one free, or buy three and get two free for savings of up to 40%.

Beyond the discount, the appeal comes from how many kitchen tasks it handles. The reversible design essentially gives you two prep surfaces, while the built-in knife sharpener and grinding area can reduce the number of tools you need to pull out. Buy one for your kitchen or take advantage of the multipack offers for holiday gifts.

What do reviewers think?

Reviewers highlight the cutting board’s versatility and easy-to-clean design, with several calling out the built-in knife sharpener and grinding area.

"It’s easy to clean and looks great," one Amazon reviewer wrote. "It has a knife sharpener, grinder area, and a channel around the outside to catch overflows."

Another shopper liked being able to consolidate several kitchen tools: "This is a great find! Easy to clean, knife sharpener included, spot to grate garlic or ginger. One cutting board replaced 5 plastic ones that I had."

A third reviewer highlighted the reversible design and sharpener: "It’s very easy to clean and helps keep meat separate from the cutting boards used for other foods. I was surprised by how handy the built-in knife sharpener is."

What could be better?

The Tibo Cutting Board isn’t dishwasher-safe, so you’ll need to wash it by hand after use. Some reviewers also report that the titanium surface scratches easily and can show hard water spots, which may matter if you want your cutting board to look pristine.

Betr Picks feels like a little bit of a stripped-down DFS app, but there really isn’t anything missing from it. If you’re looking for major tournaments, this probably is not the app to use. This is mostly a player prop parlay builder app.

Final take: As far as pick’em options go, this is one of the better ones for you to go with. It is straightforward, easy to navigate and fun.

Underdog

Underdog is one of the more popular DFS apps available. Most of its games are centered around Pick’em and Best Ball events. It is available in more than 40 states and is open to players 18 and older in most of them.

Underdog App Experience

Most users utilize the app, and that isn’t just due to convenience. The desktop site works, but the app is sleek, easy to use, and in just a few taps, you’ll be locked in for your first bet.

Underdog Contest Types and Formats

Pick’em lets you choose more or less on player stat lines and combine up to eight picks, with higher payouts based on how many picks you combine. Best Ball drafts and daily drafts are more traditional daily fantasy tournaments where you pick players and score fantasy points.

Coverage spans the major sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and college football, making Underdog one of the more versatile daily fantasy sports apps available.

Underdog User Reviews

Users who provide positive feedback about the Underdog DFS app say how easy it is to draft their teams, the great promotional offers and the ability to combine sports for a bet. It isn’t all roses, though. Some users report constant crashing, bugs (such as auto-drafting players despite not being on auto-draft) and slow loading times in critical situations.

Underdog Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payouts

Underdog supports common payment methods such as debit cards, PayPal and online banking. Withdrawing money is generally easy, but payouts can sometimes be delayed. Typically, withdrawals are processed quickly and reach your bank within 24 hours.

Is Underdog Legal in My State?

Underdog is available in more than 40 states and is open to players 18 and older in most states. You can verify availability and any exceptions when registering.

Outkick's Take on Underdog

Underdog is one of the easier-to-use DFS apps in the industry. It tends to set the bar for its competitors and generally offers everything you could be looking for.

Final take: If you’re interested in trying a DFS app, Underdog is one of the best DFS apps for beginners and a great place to start.

Dabble

Dabble is a social-first DFS app that combines More/Less real-money pick'em entries with a social media-style activity feed. Android App Rating: 4.4
Contest Types: More/Less Pick'em, Social Copy-Entry Slips and Banter Channels

Dabble App Experience

Dabble is mobile-only. The user experience feels similar to using Pinterest or Instagram and other DFS apps. Between its "Banter" channels, live chat rooms, and a customizable feed of trending community slips, you can track game stats and jump into social discussions on the same screen.

Dabble Contest Types and Formats

Dabble keeps things focused with its More/Less Pick'em format. You pick higher or lower on two to eight player stat projections. Multipliers scale aggressively—starting at 3x for two picks up to an industry-leading 1,000x for eight-pick entries. If you’re not sure how to, or really like following people’s bets, its Copy Play capability allows you to browse public feeds and replicate another user's entire multi-leg slip with a single click.

Dabble User Reviews

Users love the community aspect, the ability to copy picks from top-performing players, generous multipliers and instant free bonus offers upon registration. Constructive feedback focuses on occasional app lag during high-volume sports hours, longer identity verification checks and withdrawal processing times taking up to 48–72 hours.

Dabble Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payouts

Dabble provides payment options like major debit/credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) and Apple Pay. Withdrawals are handled directly via direct bank transfer or online banking, with funds typically reaching your bank account within 1 to 3 business days.

Is Dabble Legal in My State?

Dabble is legal for real-money Pick’em contests in 27 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C. Players must be at least 18 years old in most states, 19 or older in Nebraska, and 21 or older in Massachusetts and Arizona.

Outkick's Take on Dabble

Most people use help in the form of statistical sites or finding someone on X who is good at Daily Fantasy Sports. Dabble takes that idea and allows you to instantly copy their bets to your own portfolio. It is a cool and simple feature that helps all users.

Final take: If you enjoy social media interaction, sharing your picks or easily copying research from other daily fantasy players, Dabble is a must-try app.

Sleeper

It is always interesting to see how a company and website evolves. Amazon used to sell only books. Sleeper originally was a social-first platform for season-long and dynasty fantasy leagues. Now, its daily fantasy experience focuses heavily on Pick'em formats, live group chat integration, and custom multiplier payouts. It is legal in over 25 states for daily fantasy picks and over 40 states for traditional drafts.

iOS App Rating: 4.7
Android App Rating: 4.7
Contest Types: Sleeper Picks (More/Less Pick'em), Sleeper PicksVS, Daily Drafts and Mock Drafts
Legal States: 25+ states for Picks; 40+ states for Daily Drafts
Standout Format: High-multiplier Pick'em entries combined with built-in social league chats and live group tracking

Current Sleeper Promo and Welcome Bonus November 2026

Free $20 plus 100% first-deposit match up to $100

Sleeper App Experience

Sleeper was built for those on the go, offering one of the sleekest dark-mode interfaces in fantasy sports. Coupling live stat updates with integrated social feeds, it is easy to swap between your Pick'em tickets, group chats, and real-time game tracking without needing to leave the app.

Sleeper Contest Types and Formats

The main draw for DFS players is Sleeper Picks, where you predict whether players will go higher or lower on dynamic stat projections. You can combine up to eight selections into a single entry with multipliers reaching as high as 100x. These, like other sites, are essentially legal parlays. Sleeper also features dynamic payout scaling based on individual player probabilities, as well as classic Daily Drafts for real-time snake drafting.

Sleeper User Reviews

Users seem to enjoy Sleeper’s modern design, seamless social features, real-time news alerts and promotions. Critical feedback bashes the push notification delays during heavy traffic windows, withdrawal verification times for new accounts and sudden line shifts.

Sleeper Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payouts

Sleeper accepts deposit methods such as major debit cards, PayPal and direct online banking through Plaid. Withdrawals are straightforward and typically processed into your linked bank account or PayPal within one to three business days. Keep in mind that some banks may block transactions with gaming or daily fantasy apps.

Is Sleeper Legal in My State?

Sleeper’s traditional fantasy features and Daily Drafts are legal in more than 40 states. Paid Pick’em contests are available in more than 25 states, including California, Texas, Florida and Illinois. Players must be at least 18 years old in most participating states, 19 or older in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 or older in Massachusetts. This makes Sleeper a widely available daily fantasy sports app.

Outkick's Take on Sleeper

Sleeper has found a way to combine the social aspect of sports with fantasy games. Most people start fantasy leagues with friends. Sleeper allows you to make new connections and do Daily Fantasy all in one place.

Final take: This is the app for trash-talkers, sports lovers and chronically online people. Sleeper is not one to be slept on.

ParlayPlay

ParlayPlay is a bit less known than others on the market, but shouldn’t be underestimated. Focusing on player-vs-house prop picks with unique twist formats, dynamic payouts and built-in entry protection, ParlayPlay is trying to make you rethink the options available to you.

iOS App Rating: 4.6
Android App Rating: 4.6
Contest Types: More/Less Pick'em, HitPicks and Free2Play weekly contests
Legal States: 26 States plus Washington D.C.
Standout Format: Multi-pick More/Less entries featuring "Insured" options and high multiplier payouts up to 110x

Current ParlayPlay Promo and Welcome Bonus November 2026

$5 free entry plus 100% deposit match up to $100

ParlayPlay App Experience

The app sports a distinctive black-and-yellow theme that is intuitive to navigate. Browsing through player prop lines and building a multi-leg entry takes just a few seconds, with clear visuals indicating payout multipliers before you confirm your submission.

ParlayPlay Contest Types and Formats

The cornerstone format is More/Less Pick'em, where you pick whether two to seven players will go over or under their projected stat lines. This is fewer inputs than you can do with other apps, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. You can opt for "All-In" entries for maximum multiplier payouts, or use "Insured" entries, which still pay out if one or two selections miss. ParlayPlay also features HitPicks (predicting exact stat ranges) and weekly Free2Play contests offering real cash prizes.

ParlayPlay User Reviews

Users love the platform's user-friendly layout, deposit match and insurance options on multi-leg entries. Criticism usually mentions a higher withdrawal minimum threshold ($30) compared to competitors and limited traditional draft/salary cap contest availability.

ParlayPlay Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payouts

ParlayPlay accepts standard deposit methods including major debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and online bank transfers. Withdrawals are handled primarily via direct ACH bank transfer or e-Check, usually completing within 1 to 5 business days.

Is ParlayPlay Legal in My State?

ParlayPlay is currently legal and available in 26 U.S. states, including California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Georgia and North Carolina, plus Washington, D.C. Players must be at least 18 years old in most states, 19 or older in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 or older in Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts and Vermont.

Outkick's Take on ParlayPlay

ParlayPlay allows users to place entries with a bit of insurance. This is a great option for new users because it gives them a little more protection if a pick misses. The DFS app is easy to use and keeps the games from becoming too complicated.

Final take: If you enjoy prop-style fantasy entries and want the safety net of payout insurance on your picks, ParlayPlay is definitely worth adding to your phone.

Boom Fantasy

Boom Fantasy is a prop-based daily fantasy app known for its ultra-straightforward question formats and clean, quick-entry user experience. Rather than managing complex salary caps or drafting rosters, players make quick, higher/lower or match-up choices on individual athletes' performances.

iOS App Rating: 4.6
Android App Rating: 4.2
Contest Types: Toss-ups, Over/Under, Long Shots and Free-to-Play Contests
Legal States: 25+ States and Washington D.C.
Standout Format: High-multiplier "Long Shots" entries offering up to 40x payouts on target player predictions

Current Boom Fantasy Promo and Welcome Bonus November 2026

$20 minimum deposit. Play $5, Get $40 in Free entires

Boom Fantasy App Experience

Boom Fantasy wants you to make your mark quickly, so their interface is very easy to use and avoids clutter. You can swipe through slates to pick what you need and make picks in seconds.

Boom Fantasy Contest Types and Formats

Boom Fantasy breaks its pick'em games into three primary formats:

Over/Under: Choose whether a player will record more or less than their projected stat total.
Toss-ups: Pick which of two listed athletes will perform better in a given statistical category, e.g., Who will score more points: LeBron James or Stephen Curry?
Long Shots: Select whether an athlete will achieve an aggressive target threshold, e.g., Will Patrick Mahomes throw for 300+ yards and 3 TDs? For boosted payout multipliers up to 40x.

Boom Fantasy User Reviews

Positive reviews praise Boom Fantasy's intuitive question-style picks, unique Head-to-Head Toss-up format and reliable promotional offers. On the flip side, some users note slower withdrawal processing times during peak sports seasons and occasional app lag when submitting last-minute picks before games kickoff.

Boom Fantasy Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payouts

Boom Fantasy supports standard deposit options, including Visa, Mastercard and direct online banking options. Withdrawals are typically processed via ACH bank transfer or PayPal, taking between 2 to 5 business days to clear, depending on your financial institution.

Is Boom Fantasy Legal in My State?

Boom Fantasy is legal for real-money entries in more than 25 states plus Washington, D.C. Players must be at least 18 years old in most eligible jurisdictions, 19 or older in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 or older in Massachusetts.

Outkick's Take on Boom Fantasy

If you’re into sports betting at all, Boom Fantasy options will feel very similar. You’re essentially making player prop bets into a parlay. The toss-ups are nice because you can do either or options. The long shots are also like creating a same-game parlay on an individual player.

Final take: If you prefer question-based pick'em games over salary-cap drafts, Boom Fantasy is an engaging, easy-to-use option for your daily fantasy lineup.

How to Choose the Best DFS App and Promo for You

Choosing the Best DFS App and promo is no easy task. They all have various offers that make them worthwhile to use. We’ve compiled a list of the best for various situations to give you some extra consideration.

Best for Traditional Fantasy Players: Sleeper

Plenty of options are available to try in Sleeper. Drafting is often the best part of a fantasy league and Sleeper provides that with real-time snake drafts

Best Player-vs-House Props: ParlayPlay

A clean, beginner-friendly props experience with daily free-to-play contests. This is also a good one for the multipliers

Best Social Experience: Dabble

It is probably the most unique because you can search through pictures of plays and select them to your own account.

Best Low-Barrier Pick'em: Betr Picks

Quick betting is made simple, and they offer frequent entry discounts.

Best Welcome Bonus: Betr Picks

Two no-sweat entries worth up to $200 back in bonus, plus a free pick, is the biggest headline value from Betr.

How DFS Promos Work (Promo Types Explained)

If you aren’t familiar with the steps to claim a promo, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. For the most part, all DFS Apps make it simple to claim their offers. They want you to use them and their app.

Deposit Match

The app matches a percentage of your first deposit in bonus funds or bonus entries, often up to a cap.

Play-and-Get (Bonus Entries)

Play a small qualifying contest and receive bonus entries, as with an Underdog play $10, get $50 offer.

No-Deposit and Free-to-Play

Many DFS apps run freerolls or beginner contests you can enter without depositing, so you can try the format first.

First-Entry Insurance

Some apps refund your first entry in bonus funds if it loses. Note the cap and terms.

Ongoing Promos

After you get the welcome bonus, prepare to be inundated with other offers to keep you using the DFS app. These could be daily, weekly or even monthly offers that provide you with odds boosts, discounts or even free entries.

How Bonus Entries Work (Bonus Entries vs Cash)

Bonus entries and bonus funds usually carry a playthrough requirement before winnings can be withdrawn. They cannot be withdrawn for real money.

How to Claim a DFS Promo

Claiming a promo is often as simple as a tap on your phone screen or inputting a small promo code to get the promotion.

Confirm the DFS app is available in your state and you meet the minimum age.
Tap the offer link to open sign-up (add affiliate link once available).
Create your account and complete identity verification.
Make the minimum deposit or qualifying entry.
Receive your bonus entries or bonus funds per the terms.
Play through the bonus as required before withdrawing any winnings.

DFS vs Sportsbooks: Key Differences

If you are a sports bettor, a lot of this will feel very familiar. However, DFS companies operate under a different legal framework because their contests are considered games of skill.

Contests are games of skill, so DFS apps are legal in more states than sportsbooks.
Many DFS apps are open to players 18 and older, while sportsbooks are usually 21-plus.
DFS focuses on player-stat contests and lineups; sportsbooks offer many bet types across many markets.
Pick'em entries can feel similar to parlays, but they are considered fantasy contests, not wagers, and rules vary by state.

Are DFS Apps Legal? State Availability

The most common question is if DFS is legal in your state. It is available and legal in almost every state, but age and requirements can change, so be sure to check prior to signing up.

Pick'em-style contests face restrictions in some states, so a given app may offer drafts but not pick'em in your state.
The minimum age is 18 in many states and higher in others. Always confirm before playing.
Leading operators back responsible play, including a national self-exclusion program launched through the Coalition for Fantasy Sports.

How We Rank the Best DFS Apps and Promos

App experience, entry building and contest lobby quality.
Range and depth of contest formats (pick'em, drafts, salary cap).
Real value of the promo relative to the required deposit or entry.
Payout speed and banking options.
State availability and minimum age.
Trust, licensing where applicable and responsible-play tools. Rankings are editorially independent and refreshed regularly.

DFS Apps and Promos FAQ

What is the best DFS app in 2026?

This depends on specifically what you are looking for in a DFS app, but DraftKing Fantasy and Underdog are the two best from our analysis.

What is the difference between DFS and sports betting?

DFS games are considered skill games. There are some very strong similarities, but in almost everything, you need multiple things to go correctly in order to win. With sports betting, you can bet on one individual event to happen to claim a victory.

Are DFS apps legal in my state?

This varies from state to state, but there are significantly more legal DFS apps across the United States than sportsbetting apps.

What is a pick'em contest?

A pick’em contest is typically choosing two to eight players performing better or worse than a listed line. For example, Steph Curry will score more than 26.5 points, and Luka Doncic will have under 7.5 assists.

Are there no-deposit DFS bonuses?

There are some DFS apps that will offer incentives and bonuses without having to make a minimum deposit. Check sites regularly to see the offers.

How do DFS bonus entries work?

A bonus entry is typically paid out without including the bonus stake. With a cash entry, if you risked $20 at 2x, you’d take home $60 with a win ($40 plus your original $20 bet). Bonus entries would just pay you $40.

Can I use more than one DFS app?

Of course. You can use multiple DFS apps and compare their contests, lines and payouts. You can also build the same play on more than one app to see if the available options or potential returns differ.

Which DFS app is best for beginners?

The best DFS app for beginners depends on what you’re looking to get out of it. Betr is quick to learn and use while Dabble lets you follow other players and make the same picks they do.

iOS App Rating: 4.8
Android App Rating: 4.0
Desktop Site: Yes
Legal States: 22 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico

Current BetMGM Welcome Offer November 2026

First Bet Offer: Get up to $1,500 back in Bonus Bets if your first bet doesn't win +$50 BetMGM Reward Bonus. This high-value safety net is ideal for players taking a bigger swing on their initial wager, offering a complete refund in site credit (divided into five 20% bonus chunks for bets over $50) if your wager falls short.

BetMGM Betting App and Site Experience

If you’re a fan of the New Orleans Saints, you’ll love the look of this app. With a black, white, and gold visual aesthetic, the app is very sleek. Navigation is straightforward, featuring a top horizontal slider for major leagues and quick-access tabs for live in-play betting, current promotions, and your active bet slip.

On desktop, BetMGM presents a spacious three-column layout that makes building parlays or analyzing game markets seamless without jumping between pages. This is very helpful if you’re not 100% sure what you want to bet on when you first come to the site. It can be a bit hard to navigate at first, and the site is bulky, so if you don’t have cookies on or don’t visit often, you may get frustrated with load times.

BetMGM User Reviews

BetMGM holds strong sentiment overall across major app marketplaces. Positive user feedback frequently highlights the seamless integration with MGM Rewards, generous daily odds boosts, and reliable payout processing. Negative reviews focus primarily on occasional app lag during high-volume sports hours, strict geolocation checks, and a slightly higher learning curve for absolute beginners navigating the deep prop menus. It is hard to identify why Android users like the app much less than iPhone users.

Standout BetMGM Features

MGM Rewards Integration: If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas or another MGM Resorts destination, you’re in luck. Eligible BetMGM rewards can be used during your visit.
Edit My Bet: Modifying a wager in the middle of a bet is a nice advantage for users. This is not something always available, but when it is, it is worth using.
Easy Parlay Builder: A dedicated interface that streamlines building standard or Same Game Parlays across various sports on a single screen.

BetMGM Odds, Markets, and Market Depth

BetMGM shines in its expansive market variety. Beyond comprehensive coverage of mainstream U.S. sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, College Sports), it delivers extensive global options like European soccer leagues, tennis, golf, rugby, and cricket. Market depth is particularly strong for player prop alternatives and game futures, with pricing that consistently competes with top-tier sportsbooks.

BetMGM Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payout Speed

BetMGM supports online banking, debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, VIP Preferred ACH and cash withdrawals at participating MGM properties. Withdrawal requests are typically reviewed within 24 hours, while e-wallet payouts are generally the fastest option.

Our Take on BetMGM

BetMGM’s biggest advantage is its connection to MGM Rewards, giving bettors a reason to use the book beyond the app itself. The mobile experience can feel heavier than some other sportsbooks, but BetMGM offers a deep menu of mainstream and international markets.
Final take: A strong choice for bettors who want a full sportsbook and rewards they can use at MGM properties.

FanDuel

FanDuel has grown well beyond its daily fantasy roots and is now one of the biggest sportsbooks in the country. Bettors like the app’s clean navigation, frequent odds boosts and wide selection of markets, making it an easy option for both newcomers and experienced players.

iOS App Rating: 4.8
Android App Rating: 4.5
Desktop Site: Yes
Legal States: 24 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico

Current FanDuel Welcome Offer November 2026

Bet $5 per day for four days and get $200 in Bonus Bets. For users looking to get into the sports betting lifestyle, this is a great offer. You can make low-risk investments and get a nice return (paid out over four days at $50 per day in bonus bets).

FanDuel Betting App and Site Experience

FanDuel’s app is clean and easy to navigate. Bettors can search by sport, use the top banner to jump into popular leagues or start with prebuilt bets if they don’t want to build a parlay from scratch. The bet slip is simple enough for newcomers without getting in the way of more experienced bettors. The desktop site is easy to use, but finding a specific market can take more digging than it does on some competing sportsbooks. You may have to move through multiple categories before reaching the exact prop or bet type you want. It’s a minor issue, but bettors who prefer to compare several markets quickly may find the layout a little less efficient.

FanDuel User Reviews

FanDuel has more than 300,000 Google Play reviews, with positive feedback often highlighting the app’s easy navigation and quick payouts. Negative reviews commonly mention customer-support frustrations, occasional glitches and lag during busy betting periods.

Standout FanDuel Features

Same Game Parlay and SGP Plus: combine legs within and across games.
Fast, visual live betting with live stats and a responsive in-play slip.
Quick bet builder options, pre-made betting options, and promotions are easily available.

FanDuel Odds, Markets, and Market Depth

If you can bet on it, there are likely odds listed on FanDuel. They offer all the major sports and a wide variety of options on virtually every game and future ticket you can think of. They also cover more obscure sports, including snooker, Korean baseball and darts. In general, the odds are in line with most other major sportsbooks, though it’s always worth comparing lines before placing a bet.

FanDuel Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payout Speed

It is simple to both deposit and withdraw money from FanDuel. Online banking and credit cards are options, as are Venmo and PayPal. These options are generally secure and quick. Payouts are processed quickly, and the money is often in your bank account within two or three days.

Our Take on FanDuel

FanDuel is a good app for beginners and experts alike. Beginners get a solid welcome offer and a straightforward app for placing bets, while experienced bettors will appreciate the wide range of markets and quick payouts.

Final take: One of the easiest sportsbooks to use and one of the few that almost every sports bettor should consider.

Fanatics Betting App and Site Experience

Fanatics took a mobile-first approach, designing its app from the ground up for smartphones. The navigation relies heavily on personalized feeds, quick search features, and an intuitive betting slip that lets you track live bets effortlessly.

Unlike legacy sportsbooks, Fanatics focuses almost entirely on its app rather than a traditional desktop site. While desktop access is restricted primarily to account management and QR downloads, the app is the primary focus. The layout eliminates unnecessary menu clicks by prioritizing targeted games, live events, and tailored recommendations right on the home screen.

Fanatics User Reviews

Fanatics maintains high customer satisfaction across hundreds of thousands of app store reviews. Users consistently praise the reward system, fast load times, and sleek layout. Critical reviews mostly focus on the lack of a full desktop experience, strict daily opt-in requirements for promos, or withdrawal verification delays.

Standout Fanatics Features

FanCash Rewards: This is the ultimate reward for fans of sports memorabilia and Fanatics gear. Earn up to 5% FanCash back on every wager.
Live NFL Streaming: Stream select live broadcasts directly inside the mobile app while monitoring real-time in-play odds.
Smart Search & Discover Feed: A personalized home screen that serves up tailored bets, trending markets, and quick parlay suggestions based on your preferences.

Fanatics Odds, Markets, and Market Depth

Fanatics offers comprehensive betting markets covering all major leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports) along with international sports like soccer, tennis, golf, and motorsports. Their prop market depth and Same Game Parlay coverage rival top competitors, featuring competitive odds pricing and daily profit boosts across high-profile match-ups.

Fanatics Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payout Speed

Depositing and withdrawing money on Fanatics is direct and secure. Supported options include online banking, debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and wire transfers. Because of their modern payment architecture, digital wallet withdrawals, like PayPal and Venmo, are often processed in a few hours.

Our Take on Fanatics Sportsbook

Fanatics Sportsbook is a top choice for sports fans who value mobile-first technology and real-world perks. Beginners will appreciate the intuitive mobile layout, while sports enthusiasts will love turning their regular wagers into rewards they can use on team jerseys and apparel.

Final take: An innovative, reward-heavy sportsbook, but its personalization can be either helpful or concerning, depending on how you view technology.

theScore Bet Betting App and Site Experience

theScore Bet’s greatest advantage lies in its seamless synchronization with the main "theScore" sports news app. Users can research team stats, monitor breaking updates, and build a bet slip directly within news feeds before jumping over to place the wager in seconds.

The desktop site mirrors the app’s clean, content-first presentation. Navigating between odds, live stats, and active slips requires very little clicking, allowing users to track their action alongside real-time game updates without feeling overwhelmed by complex menus.

theScore Bet User Reviews

theScore Bet receives strong marks from users. Positive reviews often point to the media app integration, slick interface and rapid live-score updates, while negative feedback focuses on occasional sync delays between the media app and sportsbook, stricter Android location checks and a slightly smaller selection of niche props than legacy sportsbooks.

Standout theScore Bet Features

Our Take on theScore Bet

The most beneficial thing about theScore Bet sportsbook app is the ability to review news in real time. Using the app and seeing stats and other information is nice, so you’re not bouncing between things.

Final take: You should always be informed when betting, and theScore Bet makes it easy to find stats and then wager.

Hard Rock Bet

Hard Rock Bet is not spread across the country quite as much as other betting platforms, but there is one major advantage they have — they are the only online sportsbook in Florida.

iOS App Rating: 4.9
Android App Rating: 4.7
Desktop Site: Yes
Legal States: 10 states (including exclusive online access in Florida)

Current Hard Rock Bet Welcome Offer November 2026

Bet $5 and get $500 in Bonus Bets. The Bonus Bets are given as five $20 bonus bets over five weeks. The five-week payout is a little frustrating, but if you are using them for football betting, it really isn’t a big deal.

Hard Rock Bet Betting App and Site Experience

Hard Rock Bet boasts one of the highest-rated sports betting apps on the market and has the highest iOS rating of any app listed here. The interface is clean, dark-themed and responsive, prioritizing smooth scrolling over dense menus. Searching for specific games, player props or daily odds boosts takes minimal effort thanks to the intuitive search feature and smart category tabs.

The desktop experience mirrors the app’s modern design without relying on complex, multi-column layouts that require excessive clicking. Navigating through different markets is straightforward, making it easy to build parlay tickets or jump into live betting lines.

Hard Rock Bet User Reviews

Hard Rock Bet maintains elite user feedback across both iOS and Android stores. Positive reviews consistently praise the app's fast loading speeds, simple layout, and daily "Overdrive Boosts". Critical feedback mainly centers on its smaller geographic footprint compared to FanDuel, as well as fewer withdrawal options relative to legacy operators. There have also been complaints about limiting winners after big payouts.

Standout Hard Rock Bet Features

Flex Parlay: A unique tool that lets you build parlays while still earning a partial payout if one or more legs lose.
Unity Rewards Integration: Earn loyalty points on wagers that link directly to Hard Rock’s global hotel, casino, and dining rewards program.
Overdrive Boosts: Daily, high-value profit surges on popular props and big games that often beat industry-standard lines.

Hard Rock Bet Odds, Markets, and Market Depth

Hard Rock Bet provides lines for essentially every sport you could imagine. Its game lines and player prop offerings for major sports are priced competitively.

Hard Rock Bet Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payout Speed

Funding your account on Hard Rock Bet is simple, fast, and secure. Standard payment options include online banking, credit/debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, ACH/e-check, and cash at participating Hard Rock retail casino cages. Payouts are processed efficiently, with digital wallet and online banking withdrawals typically clearing within 24 to 48 hours.

Our Take on Hard Rock Bet

Hard Rock Bet provides a visually appealing app. It isn’t available everywhere, but if it is offered in your state, it is worth using. The ability to deposit at participating casinos is a nice touch if you plan to visit one anyway.

Final take: Hard Rock Bet offers some strong bonuses and player props. Its limited availability hurts it a bit, but it might be worth adding to your sportsbook arsenal if it is available in your area.

Sports Betting Apps Ranked by App Store Ratings

Before we go to the movies or to dinner, we often check the reviews and ratings to decide if it is worth our time and money. Sportsbetting apps should be no different. Check out the table below to see how these sports betting mobile apps stand out for their ratings, usability and overall customer experience.

How to Choose the Best Betting App or Site for You

The best betting app for you may not be the same one another bettor prefers, which is why comparing several sportsbooks matters. Maybe welcome promos are most important to you. Perhaps you like reviewing stats before you bet. Or maybe you’re in Florida, where there is really only one option. If you can, consider using multiple sportsbooks, since different apps offer different lines, markets and promotions.

Highest-Rated and Easiest to Use: FanDuel

For bettors looking for the best sportsbook experience, FanDuel is one of the easiest apps to navigate. Finding games and lines is very easy with navigation or search.

Best Odds and Lines: bet365

Consistently competitive pricing and early lines; the book that hangs its hat on odds over promos.

Best Loyalty and Rewards: BetMGM and Fanatics

If you’re interested in travel, BetMGM might be the best in the market because you can use the rewards at many Las Vegas casinos. Fanatics offers a lot of loyalty and bonuses that can be used on memorabilia and clothing.

Best Bet Reset Offer: theScore Bet

Bet reset up to $1,000 gives new users a sizable second chance

Best Live Betting: bet365

bet365 has a great interface for betting live sports. It is easy to track and view options.

Sports Betting Apps and Sites FAQ

What is the best sports betting app in 2026?

The best sports betting sites offer different advantages, so the right choice depends on the odds, promos and features you value most. Each sportsbook offers fairly similar betting options, but the lines can be drastically different. There are also plenty of welcome and promo offers to evaluate before choosing the right app for you.

Are betting apps and betting sites different?

Typically, the navigation will be slightly different. Some sites, like Fanatics, are built more for mobile accessibility than desktop navigation. For the most part, though, all offerings are the same on both channels. Most betting apps and desktop sites use the same account and offer access to the same basic sportsbook markets.

Can I use the same account on the app and the website?

Yes, you can use the same account for the sportsbetting app. You can typically register for the sportsbook on either the app or desktop.

Do sports betting apps and sites offer the same odds?

Yes. The app and website for a sportsbook should offer the same odds. However, the odds will vary between betting sites such as FanDuel.

Can I sign up for more than one sportsbook?

Yes, you can sign up for more than one sportsbook as long as each book is legal in your state and you meet its eligibility requirements. Using multiple betting sites also lets you compare lines and find the best price before placing a wager.

Which sportsbook has the fastest payouts?

Almost all sportsbooks now pay out within 24–48 hours of the request. Larger payouts may require more time to process.

Are sports betting apps legal in every state?

No. Although sports betting has expanded rapidly, many states still do not have legal sports betting apps. Check your state’s current laws before signing up or placing a wager.

Which sports betting app is safest?

Legal sports betting apps use identity verification, geolocation and security protections to keep accounts safe. The safest choice comes down to using a regulated sportsbook in your state and choosing an app you trust.

Tue, 29 Sep 2026 21:42:34 -0400

Whether you are new to sports betting or a seasoned veteran, you should always be on the lookout for promos and offers from your favorite sportsbooks. Some sportsbook promos will be offered daily, weekly, or for an entire month. Sportsbook welcome offers are a bit different, as you really only have access to them once. We will take a look and see what sportsbooks are currently offering for promotions, and how they stack up against each other in terms of value, conditions, and ease of claiming. These offers are for the month of November and will be updated regularly.

This Week's Best Sportsbook Promos for November 2026

Last updated: Nov. 6, 2026

Best Sportsbook Promo for Every Type of Bettor

With all of these different offers, it may be hard to figure out which is the best for you. Don’t worry, we’ve taken care of that for you as well. Check out which might suit you best as you start sports betting and take advantage of the welcome offers.

Best for a Big First Bet: BetMGM

Have you ever felt really confident in something and wanted to put a big bet on it? BetMGM would be the best for you as it gives you back up to $1,500on a lost bet. That’s the largest return offered on any of these books.

Best for Newcomers and Small Stakes: FanDuel

If you’re willing to try out a fairly small investment, $5, and will consistently bet each day for four days, FanDuel is your spot. This gets you back $250 in Bonus Bets, a 10x return.

Best Second-Chance Offer: theScore Bet

A lot of sites have "risk-free" bets, and theScore Bet is currently offering the best welcome offer of up to $1,000. A nice safety net if you happen to lose the bet, getting back the full amount in five equal bonus bets. Note: this is available in AZ, CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MO, NC, OH, TN, and VA.

Best Rewards Value: Fanatics

While almost all of these companies offer points and bonus values, Fanatics provides FanCash and betting options. This is a bit subjective — if you’re not interested in Fanatics clothes, memorabilia, etc., you might not like the rewards. However, the FanCash can be used for more bets, which is nice.

Best in Florida: Hard Rock Bet

Sometimes all you need is to be the only game in town. Hard Rock Bet is the only online sportsbook in Florida, but they still offer a nice welcome bonus of $500 in Bonus Bets when placing a $5 bet.

Types of Sportsbook Promos Explained

In our table, we listed a few types of sportsbook promos and offer types. If you’re new to sports betting, you might not be familiar with what they mean, so let’s take a second to explain what the different offer types are.

Bet-and-Get (Bonus Bets)

This is somewhat self-explanatory. You bet a set amount of money (often as low as $5), and you get bonus bets paid out in one day or over multiple days.

First-Bet Safety Net (First-Bet Insurance)

If your bet loses, you receive bonus bets in the same value. Sometimes they will be issued as one bet, but in the case of theScore Bet, you receive five equal bets over five days. For example, if you lose a $1,000 bet, you’ll get five $200 bonus bets, one each day.

Reward Bonus

A reward bonus is typically given on top of other promotions. So it may be as simple as depositing $100 and receiving an additional $20 bonus.

Deposit Match

The book matches a percentage of your deposit in bonus funds, often tied to a playthrough requirement.

Bet Reset

A second-chance credit if your qualifying bet loses. This is different from a welcome offer, because this can be provided by the sportsbook at any time. As long as your bet qualifies and loses, you’ll be given tokens or bonus bets. Keep in mind, those tokens or bonus bets tend to have expiration dates on them.

Odds Boosts and Profit Boosts

Increase the payout on a selected bet or market. Common in ongoing promos rather than welcome offers.

How Bonus Bets Pay Out (Bonus Bets vs Cash)

Bonus bets return winnings only, not the stake. For example, if you have a $100 bonus bet and it hits a +100 bet. You’re only collecting $100 total. If you bet that same bet in cash, you’d collect $200.

No-Deposit Sportsbook Bonuses

No-deposit sportsbook bonuses sound appealing because they give new users a promotional credit before they deposit or place a bet with their own money. The catch is that these offers are rare at regulated U.S. sportsbooks, which typically require a qualifying deposit and wager.

When no-deposit offers do appear, they are often tied to a new state launch or a limited sign-up promotion. The bonus is usually small and may come with minimum odds, playthrough and withdrawal requirements, so read the fine print before claiming it. For most bettors, a low-risk bet-and-get offer will provide more practical value.

Best Welcome Promos by Sportsbook

BetMGM

BetMGM runs one of the most protective welcome offers for bettors who want to start bigger: Up to $1,500 back in bonus bets if the first bet loses. This gives you a chance to make a big splash immediately. If you win, you don’t need the bonus bets. If you lose, you’re still getting a chance to make money back.

Offer: Get up to $1,500 paid back in bonus bets if you don’t win
Offer type: First-bet safety net
Key terms: Players receive a First Bet Offer Token to use on any bet within the first seven days of opening an account. Losing wagers will receive bonus bets that expire within seven days.
Best for: bettors placing a larger first wager who want a cushion if it loses

How it compares: The $1,500 cap is among the largest safety nets available. Remember the refund is bonus bets, not cash, so real value depends on converting those tokens into wins.

How to Claim the BetMGM Bonus:

Tap the offer link to open BetMGM sign-up.
Create your account, enter the promo code, and complete identity verification.
Deposit the minimum and place your first bet.
If your first bet loses, receive up to $1,500 back in bonus bets (keep in mind if you only bet $100, you’re only getting $100 back in bonus bets)

Our Verdict: If you feel very confident in something, and it is your first time betting, this is the spot for you as it provides a bit of a safety net.

Fanatics

One of the nice things about Fanatics is that they offer a few different options to new users. This helps to cater to the wide variety of people interested in picking up sports betting.

Offer: Use promo code FOXNEWS350 to earn up to $1,000 in FanCash through the 10 days of $100 Bet Match promotion, or bet $20 and get $350 in FanCash, paid as seven daily $50 FanCash credits. Bet $1 and get $50 FanCash, while new users in eligible states can also receive 10 instant 100% Profit Boost Tokens with no deposit or bet required.
Offer type: Bet-and-get
Key terms: FanCash, in some cases, expires after 24 hours.
Best for: those looking for daily sports betting.

How it compares: Instead of just one offer, Fanatics provides a wide variety of offers. You can bet anywhere from $1 to $100 and receive bonuses.

How to Claim the Fanatics Bonus:

Tap the offer link to open Fanatics sign-up.
Create your account, enter the promo code, and complete identity verification.
Deposit the minimum and place your first bet.
With these three options, you can bet $100 each day for 10 days using promo code FOXNEWS350 to receive up to $1,000 in FanCash. For the $350 offer, no promo code is needed; you just need to have a bet of $20 or more within your first seven days. The $1 bet for $50 in FanCash allows you to opt in via your bet slip.

Our Verdict: Fanatics are playing for all bettors, not just the big bettors. There is something for everyone here.

theScore Bet

theScore Bet provides a safety-net-style welcome bonus similar to BetMGM, designed for bettors who want protection on a larger opening wager.

Offer: First Bet Reset up to $1,000 in bonus bets if your first bet loses; you do need to claim this before you place your bet.
Offer type: Bet reset
Key terms: Minimum $10 deposit and $10 qualifying first bet required; if your initial wager loses, the refund is split into five equal bonus bet tokens (each worth 20% of the losing stake, up to $200 per token); bonus bets expire 7 days after receipt and pay out winnings only (stake not returned)
Best for: Bettors who want to place a higher-stakes initial wager with built-in protection and prefer having their bonus returned in multiple smaller tokens rather than one lump sum

How it compares: theScore Bet directly competes with BetMGM's safety-net tier. It caps out slightly lower ($1,000 vs. BetMGM’s $1,500), but splitting the refund into five equal 20% tokens gives you much more flexibility to spread out secondary wagers across different events. Just make sure you use them before they expire.

How to Claim the theScore Bet Bonus:

Tap the offer link to download the app and open theScore Bet sign-up page.
Create your account, complete identity verification, and manually enter the promo code when prompted.
Deposit at least $10 and place your first real-money wager.
If your wager wins, keep your cash payout; if it loses, receive 100% of your stake back as five bonus bet tokens totaling up to $1,000.

Our Verdict: The 5-token split makes recovering secondary value noticeably easier than platforms that issue a single massive bonus credit because you don’t need to take a big risk immediately again.

FanDuel

FanDuel is a top-tier option for small-stakes bettors, focusing on high engagement and high-frequency value over single high-risk wagers. Rather than issuing its welcome reward in a single lump sum, FanDuel utilizes a multi-day incentive format that rewards regular participation during your first week on the platform.

Offer: Get $200 in Bonus Bets when you wager $5 for 4 days ($50 Bonus Bets per day)
Offer type: Multi-day "Bet & Get" welcome bonus
Key terms: Minimum $5 initial deposit; must place a qualifying real-money wager of $5 or more each day for 5 consecutive days starting from your first qualifying bet; each qualifying daily wager unlocks $50 in bonus bets (up to $250 total); bonus bets expire 7 days after issuance and are non-withdrawable
Best for: Active bettors who plan to place daily wagers during their first week, but not necessarily large amounts.

How it compares: FanDuel is essentially trying to establish a habit. They get you using the app and making bets four days in a row. Compared to some other sportsbook's guaranteed upfront drop, FanDuel offers a significantly higher potential bonus cap ($250 vs. $200), though it requires consistent daily $5 activity over four days to unlock the maximum reward.

How to Claim the FanDuel Bonus:

Tap the offer link to open the FanDuel Sportsbook sign-up page.
Create your account and complete identity verification (no promo code needed).
Deposit at least $5 into your new sportsbook account (though, you’ll need $35 minimum if you bet $5 per day for four days).
Place a $5+ real-money bet each day for 4 consecutive days to receive a $50 bonus bet batch every single day.

Our Verdict: If you’re going to bet on something every day anyway, but don’t want to bet a lot, this is ideal because you get $200 back.

bet365

bet365 frequently changes its welcome offers, and several promotions may appear online at any given time. At the time of review, however, the sportsbook’s website featured one primary offer: Bet $10, Get $200 in bonus bets, win or lose. It is not the biggest promotion in this guide, but the low qualifying wager and guaranteed bonus still make it a worthwhile option for new bettors.

Offer: Bet $10, Get $200 in bonus bets, win or lose
Offer type: Bet-and-Get
Key terms: Minimum $10 deposit required; "Bet & Get" requires a $10 first wager on odds of -500 or longer to unlock $200 in bonus credits upon settlement
Best for: Anyone looking for bonus bets issued out all at once instead of over time.

How it compares: bet365 gives you $200 regardless of the outcome of your wager, and they give you those bonus bets immediately, not over time. If you want to bet small ($10) on your first bet, you can bet a bit bigger the next time with the $200 bonus bet.

How to Claim the bet365 Bonus:

Tap the offer link to open the bet365 sign-up page or download the app.
Create your account, complete identity verification, and enter the promo code.
Deposit at least $10 and place your wager.
Place your qualifying wager of $10 or more. Receive $200 in bonus bets once it settles (win or lose).

Our Verdict: This is a nice option for anyone who wants to get started, but give yourself options for a larger wager after the initial bet.

Best Ongoing Promos and Boosts (Beyond the Welcome Offer)

While the welcome offer is a one-time incentive, there are monthly, weekly, and even daily offers from sportsbooks to keep you playing. Profit boosts, same-game parlay insurance, and no-sweat bets are common offers from sportsbooks.

Best Sportsbook Promos by Sport

You’re not going to find an NBA promo in August, just as you won’t find an NFL promotion until the season starts. Maybe there will be a promotion you can use in the future or on a future bet, but each book will update options daily for sport-specific promos.

NFL and College Football Promos

Expect same-game-parlay boosts, touchdown-scorer specials, and Sunday and game-day profit boosts during the season. A lot of the promos from these focus on player props.

NBA and College Basketball Promos

There are typically moneyline and spread parlays offered to give you odds boosts on games.

MLB Promos

Home-run and player-prop promos and weekly boost days during the season.

Soccer and Other Sports

bet365 in particular runs strong soccer boosts and early-payout offers. Many sites will offer odds boost for "Make the Cut" parlays in golf. In tennis, you can usually find good odds boosts or parlay options for big tournaments.

How to Claim a Sportsbook Promo

Claiming a sportsbook promo is very easy. It is pretty straightforward and similar at almost every sportsbook app.

Confirm the sportsbook is legal and live in your state.
Tap the offer link or widget to open sign-up.
Create an account and complete identity verification.
Enter the promo code if one is required (see the offer table).
Make the minimum qualifying deposit.
Place the qualifying bet at or above the minimum odds.
Receive bonus bets or a bet reset per the terms, then use them before they expire.

How to Get the Most From Your Bonus

For a daily sportsbook bonus, you’re likely going to just place one bet (a parlay or straight bet), and it either hits or not. You have instant gratification (or frustration if your bet loses). With welcome bets, you really need to decide how you want to use bonus bets. The big key is to check expirations so you don’t let them go to waste. Outside of that, you need to know if you have one big bet, or multiple smaller wagers. When you place your initial bet, you might want to plan out how you’ll use the bonus bets over the next few days.

How We Rate Sportsbook Promos

A big headline number does not automatically make a sportsbook promotion a good deal. We look at the offer’s real value compared with the required deposit and qualifying bet, along with the type of promotion and the amount of risk it places on the bettor.

We also consider how clear and fair the terms are, including minimum odds, token restrictions and expiration dates. Ease of claiming, how quickly the bonus is credited, and the strength of ongoing and sport-specific promotions also factor into our rankings. Our ratings are editorially independent, tested when possible and refreshed regularly as sportsbook offers change.

Sportsbook Promo Glossary

Short intro line: a quick reference for the terms used across sportsbook promos.

Deposit match: The book matches a percentage of your deposit in bonus funds.

FanCash: The Fanatics rewards currency, redeemable for bonus bets or merchandise.

Sportsbook Promos FAQ

What is the best sportsbook promo this week?

The best sportsbook promo depends on your state, budget and betting style. Bettors making a larger first wager may prefer BetMGM’s offer of up to $1,500 back in bonus bets if the first bet loses. If you mainly bet parlays, an ongoing odds boost or same-game parlay promotion may offer more value than a standard welcome offer. There are differing options for each sportsbook that can change from week to week, so it is up to the bettor to decide what is the current best offer.

Do I need a promo code to claim an offer?

Not always. Some sportsbook promos apply automatically through the correct sign-up link, while others require a promo code during registration. Check the offer’s terms before depositing or placing a qualifying bet.

What are bonus bets and how do they work?

Bonus bets are promotional credits awarded after you meet a sportsbook’s qualifying requirements. If a $100 bonus bet wins at +100 odds, you receive $100 in winnings, but not the original $100 stake.

What is the difference between a bet-and-get and a first-bet safety net?

A bet-and-get sportsbook promo awards bonus bets after you place a qualifying wager, often whether you win or lose. A first-bet safety net refunds a losing first wager in bonus bets, up to a stated limit, rather than returning the stake as cash.

Are there any no-deposit sportsbook bonuses?

No-deposit sportsbook bonuses are rare at regulated U.S. sportsbooks, which usually require a deposit and qualifying bet. Some offshore sportsbooks may advertise them, but read the terms carefully because they can include strict playthrough, minimum-odds and withdrawal requirements.

Can I claim promos at more than one sportsbook?

Yes! You can claim as many promos as you are eligible for. You just need to adhere to all of the rules, but this is a great way to get the most out of your money and the offers available.

Do bonus bets and bet resets expire?

Yes. Bonus bets and bet resets usually have expiration dates, so check the sportsbook’s terms and use them before the deadline or they may be forfeited.

Are sportsbook promos worth it?

Sportsbook promos are worth it as protection for your bet or as an added incentive for your continued use of their book. It does often require you to use your own money, but the promotions tend to give you better odds than the normal payouts, or give you free bets to make.

Are these promos available in my state?

Sportsbook promos and legal betting apps vary by state, so an offer available in one location may not be offered in another. Confirm that the sportsbook is legal where you live and check its current terms before signing up. Check each sportsbook for more information.

Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock uses interesting analogy to explain how he knew Sam Darnold was hurt

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:48:34 -0500

Sam Darnold and Drew Lock: An old married couple or quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks? Lock would say both.

Darnold, who will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals because of a quad injury, also suffered a cracked rib on the second play of Monday night’s 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears. Lock said he knew right away Darnold was hurt despite the starter not saying anything.

"Are you married?" Lock asked a reporter who had asked him how he knew Darnold was hurt.

"I’m not, no," the reporter responded.

"Did you have a girlfriend for a really long time?" Lock asked, and the reporter said he did at one point.

"You know when she’s upset, she doesn’t have to say anything to you? I spent a lot of time with Sam, practice, watching every rep, games, watching very single rep. I just – I could tell," Lock said.

While Darnold’s rib injury occured on the second play of the game, the quad injury he suffered came on the final drive of the Seahawks’ loss on Monday. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald praised his quarterback’s toughness.

"So he’s playing the whole game without even making a thing of it and playing his tail off and competing," Macdonald said. "I think it’s worth noting how tough this guy is. He’ll be back sooner than later, I’m sure."

Macdonald said Darnold likely could continue playing through the rib injury, but the quad injury is keeping him out of the lineup. The 29-year-old is considered week-to-week and will not be placed on injured reserve.

For Lock, this will be his second start of the season. Darnold’s first injury occurred early in the Week 1 game, and Lock ended up playing most of the game, leading Seattle to a win over the New England Patriots.

In his lone start against the Cardinals in Week 2, Lock was fantastic. He completed 19 of 26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.

This season, he has completed 35 of 48 passes for 422 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Lock has been dealing with a sore elbow over the last two weeks but will start Sunday. Jalen Milroe will serve as the team’s backup quarterback.

The 4-4 Seahawks will look to beat the 3-5 Cardinals for the second time this season at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, climb above .500 and keep pace in the NFC West.

What else? I've got an incredible national anthem out of Golden State last night, reader mail from the week and Hooters is BACK in NASCAR! What a comeback.

It's been a while since Hooters was in the sport after getting evicted from the series last season (true story), but the girls are back for this weekend's finale in Homestead.

That's how you end the week strong, folks. I feel better already.

Grab you a pencil and scorebook and try to keep up with all the LSU points from last night ... and THEN settle in for a Friday 'Cap!

HOOTERS RESTAURANTS KEEP CLOSING EVEN AS CEO SAYS THERE'S MORE TO THE STORY

The LSU women showed no mercy last night

It's a Friday, the sun is finally out here in Florida after historic flooding earlier in the week, and we've got potentially the greatest Saturday of college football staring us in our fat, American faces.

So, we're not beating around the bush today. Let's get after it, and then get on outta here a bit early.

First up? I know all eyes were locked in on last night's terrible NFL game, but there was also a college basketball game taking place between LSU and Texas Southern.

LSU, for those who don't follow women's hoops, is the No. 9 team in the nation. Texas Southern came into the game 0-1 with a 40-point loss to Tulane.

Guess how it went?

Speaking of a wild night of basketball ...

Lordy. I've never seen anything quite like it.

The biggest blowout EVER in D1 history against another D1 opponent. A scoreless second quarter (40-0!). A 106-9 run over the final three quarters.

The most mind-blowing stat? Texas Southern went 13 possessions without even getting the ball inside the three-point line in the second quarter.

Goodness.

YES, ALABAMA'S COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKING IS ABSURD, BUT ONE TEAM GOT ROYALLY SCREWED BY THE COMMITTEE

For those wondering, LSU's NIL valuation sits around $6 million this season — good for second-highest in women's hoops. You'll be shocked to know that Texas Southern's NIL valuation wasn't readily available.

Go figure.

What do we think? Should Kim Mulkey had let off the gas just a bit down the stretch? Or is this big girl college basketball and Texas Southern knew what they were signing up for?

I think I'm in the first camp. I played for the worst DIII college baseball team in America for four years and we once lost to MIT 27-1. I have no pity.

Suck it up, buttercup!

Next? Let's stay on the hardwood and head out to San Francisco (reluctantly), where the Warriors held their mandatory Pride night last night and kicked things off with a totally normal national anthem:

Reader mail & Hooters is BACK!

What a week for the left. When you're hot, you're hot!

We all knew after Tuesday's bloodbath that Woke 3.0 was inevitable, and the folks out in San Francisco wasted no time in getting back to business.

A tiny rainbow flag. During the national anthem. During the actual national anthem.

You wanna talk about disrespectful. This makes the WNBA nonsense from last month look like child's play.

Woke 3.0 is off to a BLAZING start, folks. Singer Jason Brock ain't backing down, either.

"Wow I didn’t interpret it like this, but I wasn’t watching the players," he said in an X post. "Just because they were laughing doesn’t mean it was because of the anthem."

It's gonna be a long two years. Heads on a swivel, everyone! Woke 3.0 is officially underway.

OK, let's rapid-fire this Friday class into a big weekend of FOOTBALL. First up? You know what? It's been a while since we checked the mail.

Let's empty it so we can start fresh next week.

Yesterday — in honor of National Donut Day — I said the simpler the donut, the better. I'm tired of all these fancy donuts taking over America. Give me a Boston Cream, a blueberry donut, a glazed donut, and leave me alone. I'm all set.

From Jerome D:

"Have you tried the Sriracha yet? There’s something to a salty spicy donut!!"

I love Sriracha as a sauce. I use it all the time (although nothing beats Crystal). But on a donut? Nope. I just can't get into it. I've tried it and it just doesn't work.

Next? Earlier this week, I said Wake Forest got HOSED in the first batch of CFP rankings. I stand by that, by the way. The Demon Deacons are overlooked.

Luke P. disagrees:

"Wake Forrest got hosed? Cmon bud GTFOH. Last 3 games vs a now 5 loss VA team, a now 6 loss Cal team, and now 4 loss NC St team that's interviewing cringy past subway ambassador for HC. Oh before that they put up big on a now 5 loss Stanford squad. I guess we'll find out if wake is real this weekend against Merrimack who has lost to Rhode Island, Delaware, Tarleton St, Yale and Dartmouth but recently fought hard for a W over ...Wagner. ?!?"

Fair points from Luke. I can't argue that, beyond the fact that Wake has blown out everyone on their "weak" schedule. No. 4 Indiana, meanwhile, needed overtime to beat Michigan and Minnesota — two terrible teams.

Just saying.

Finally, let's check in with NB, who did NOT appreciate me mocking the NBA and Luka Doncic the other day:

"Why do you watch the NBA if it’s so awful to you? You realize you have your opinions and others are allowed them as well. You have to watch the NBA you have to react to it because your paycheck depends on it. What a sad sad little life you have made for yourself. If you didn’t have these leagues to write about you would be unemployed. Your life depends on the, as you said the "softest league in sports" writing about something you hate is WILD. Hope Fox has good medical coverage because you need a shrink.

Have a good day being miserable and letting the world know. I bet it’s fun to know your echo chamber has a few bored people willing to call you out. My huge s–t is done. Wish I could wipe my a– with this article but I’d have to get it out of your a–."

I mean, do we have the best readers, or what? These people are amazing. What an email! It's perfect. No notes. It's already on my fridge, front and center.

FOX, by the way, has excellent medical coverage.

OK, that's it for today — and this week. Good work, everyone.

On the way out, here are the HOOTERS girls returning to NASCAR for the first time in 18 months.

Welcome back.

Houston mayor bolts early from ICE cooperation after blue wave crashes in Texas

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:35:23 -0500

The Democratic mayor of America's fourth-largest city is reversing course on cooperation with federal immigration authorities despite an executive order from defeated Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott that threatened the loss of millions in state funding for noncompliance.

The Lone Star State swung blue for the first time since its new senator-elect, James Talarico, was born, and Houston Mayor John Whitmire wasted no time Friday announcing new restrictions on cooperation with ICE.

Whitmire told The New York Times that city police are not permitted to notify ICE if they encounter an illegal immigrant in "nonviolent contacts" like traffic stops or minor offenses.

'WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS': TEXAS DEMOCRATS STUNNED AS BLUE WAVE TOPPLES GOP STRONGHOLD

"If they’re charged with a new crime, we’ll let ICE know as we get them to the jailhouse," he told the paper Friday.

Abbott lost his bid for a fourth term Tuesday, and Talarico flipped one of the state’s Senate seats blue for the first time since Clinton Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen won his final re-election bid in 1988 — seven months before the current senator-elect was born.

Texas’ most recent Democratic governor, Ann Richards, the mother of former longtime Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, was elected shortly thereafter in 1990.

Whitmire did not respond to a request for comment but signaled to the Times that he made the decision at least in part because Abbott’s order requiring DHS contact caused "anxiety" among Houstonians.

In a statement put out Friday afternoon, Whitmire said, "I have signed an executive order directing HPD to no longer contact ICE for nonviolent offenses, helping reduce fear in our communities. Thank you to Chief Diaz, our state and local leaders for their collaboration. A step toward building a stronger Houston. Let’s Go to Work."

He also acknowledged Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa won’t take office until January but characterized his decision as "responsible" and "more effective policy."

A DHS spokesperson responded to Whitmire's move in comments to Fox News Digital.

"We remain disappointed that sanctuary politicians seek to limit cooperation with ICE, as our law enforcement are simply fulfilling their sworn duties to serve and protect our communities," the spokesperson said.

"Partnerships with law enforcement are critical to having the resources we need to arrest criminal illegal aliens across the country. Seven of the top 10 safest cities in the United States cooperate with ICE. When politicians bar local law enforcement from working with DHS, our law enforcement officers have a more visible presence so that we can find and apprehend the criminals let out of jails and back into communities.

The spokesperson pointed to some recent criminal illegal aliens captured by ICE in Houston – including Alexander Montano of Cuba, convicted of willful homicide, burglary and forced entry into a residence.

Vietnamese national Ding Nguyen, also convicted of homicide, along with Guatemalan national Julio Camey, convicted of sex offense against a child, were also mentioned by the spokesperson.

"You write a citation or you warn them, and they go about their way. No contact with [ICE] over nonviolent, non-jailable offenses," Whitmire told the AP.

A previous policy enacted in March by Whitmire and Police Chief Noe Diaz stipulated that if a background check revealed an immigration-related warrant, a sergeant would be called to oversee ICE involvement, according to Houston’s FOX affiliate.

The policy also said that if ICE could not make it to the stop within half an hour, the subject would be released.

The Houston City Council subsequently approved an ordinance in April limiting how long officers could detain individuals while awaiting ICE agents, but Whitmire backed revisions after Abbott threatened to withhold more than $100 million in state funding and then-Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an investigation into the city's immigration policies.

The revised policy restored greater discretion for officers to contact ICE and wait for federal agents during encounters involving civil immigration warrants. Whitmire's latest announcement would instead limit such notifications to encounters involving jailable offenses, marking a return to the restrictions city lawmakers initially sought.

ESPN's Matt Barrie is a man of the people, tells audience to 'unfriend' anyone with a wedding this weekend

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:30:08 -0500

I've said it numerous times before, but college football is practically a religion to the fans who consume it every weekend.

Saturdays during the fall are seen as sacred days where people put their differences aside and come together to cheer for their team.

By that logic, anyone who tries to disrupt a college football fan's Saturday should be seen as someone whose views are incongruent with the hardcore fan's, even if their intentions are pure.

A LIST OF THE BEST COLLEGE GAMEDAY SIGNS AT LSU DURING SHOW'S 500TH EPISODE

All that is to say, the war being waged between college football fanatics and fall weddings is one that isn't slowing down anytime soon.

I've gone on record as saying that if you choose to get married on a college football Saturday, you can expect a gift on your registry from me and an empty seat, because I ain't going.

JOSH PATE DISCUSSES NEW ESPN SHOW, FOUR FACES OF ESPN, PAT MCAFEE AND FUTURE OF MEDIA COMPANY WITH OUTKICK

Some may call this childish or accuse me of putting my hobbies before my friends and family, but I'm not alone.

There are millions of other psychos in this country who have also adopted this stance, and one of them is none other than ESPN's Matt Barrie.

Barrie is known for his college football coverage for The Worldwide Leader, and during Thursday night's game between UTSA and FAU, the longtime CFB host decided to lobby against fall weddings with an impassioned plea to all the other fellow psychos.

"I need to say something, and I've never been more serious about something in college football," Barrie said while looking at a juicy weekend slate full of ranked-on-ranked matchups. "If you've got anyone getting married this Saturday, unfamily them or unfriend them, and don't go."

One. Of. Us.

Matt Barrie is alright in my book, because although this will get him skewered by all the uptight casuals, he understands his true audience.

PAT MCAFEE HAS OFFICIALLY SURPASSED STEPHEN A SMITH AS THE FACE OF ESPN

Anyone who was intently watching UTSA and FAU duke it out on a Thursday evening is someone who resonates with every word Barrie uttered.

As a matter of fact, I think it's safe to say Barrie was preaching to the choir.

If you're watching an AAC game on Thursday instead of doing literally anything else, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell you're going to a wedding this Saturday.

Not to worry, Matt! There will be no need to "unfriend" or "unfamily" this weekend.

One popular fruit may support brain and heart health as you age, experts say

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:30:04 -0500

A cup of blueberries can give your breakfast a boost and experts say it may also support heart and brain health.

Walter Willett, an 81-year-old Harvard nutrition researcher known for decades of work on diet and chronic disease, recently told The Washington Post that he eats blueberries almost every day, usually adding them to oatmeal with Greek yogurt and nuts.

"In study after study, berries appear to be protective against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease," Willett told the outlet. "It's an area where we need more research, but berries do seem to stand out, especially blueberries."

NATURAL COMPOUND IN BLUEBERRIES AND GRAPES MAY UNLOCK FAT-BURNING PROCESS IN MUSCLE CELLS

The fruit is one of the most researched, along with apples, bananas and citrus fruits, according to experts, and studies have long examined blueberries' effects on blood vessels and cognition.

In a six-month study of 115 adults with metabolic syndrome, participants who consumed the equivalent of about a cup of blueberries daily showed improvements in blood-vessel function and arterial stiffness, Dr. Nadim Geloo, Virginia-based senior medical director of Abbott's structural heart division, told Fox News Digital.

That doesn't mean they directly prevent heart attacks or strokes, however.

"Most [studies] small and short, often use freeze-dried powder rather than whole fruit, measure markers like blood vessel function rather than actual heart attacks or strokes and are frequently funded by the blueberry industry," Geloo said.

Some studies have also found improvements in memory and other cognitive measures, especially among older adults, though Dr. Michael Aziz, an internist and physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, noted that those effects were modest and research has not shown blueberries can prevent Alzheimer's disease.

COMMON KITCHEN STAPLE MAY SHARPEN YOUR BRAIN, AND IT ONLY TAKES 2 TABLESPOONS

California-based biomedical researcher Rhonda Patrick also recently spoke about blueberries' benefits for heart and brain health on her FoundMyFitness podcast.

"The strongest benefit is vascular," she said.

Patrick called blueberries "one of the better-supported polyphenol-rich foods," referring to their antioxidant properties, and also said a "practical dose" is about a cup a day.

THE 8 HEALTHIEST BEANS YOU SHOULD BE EATING MORE OFTEN, ACCORDING TO NUTRITION EXPERT

She noted that studies in older adults have also found improvements in some measures of memory and cognitive flexibility.

Longer-term observational studies have also linked berry intake with slower cognitive decline, but they cannot prove blueberries caused the difference.

Nonetheless, experts say it's still worth eating them.

"While there is no 'magic bullet,' there's nothing to lose by including more berries in your diet," Elisa Bremner, a New York-based registered dietitian nutritionist, told Fox News Digital.

She, too, eats them nearly every day, Bremner said.

TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ

"I have heard blueberries called 'brainberries,' due to all the research on cognitive function associated with them," she said.

One cup of blueberries also provides about 3.6 grams of fiber, Bremner noted, which helps slow digestion, and pairing blueberries with protein-rich foods such as yogurt may further slow the release of sugar.

Fresh and frozen blueberries are both practical options, Bremner said, noting that frozen fruit can be a convenient, lower-cost way to eat fruit year-round.

Since the evidence does not show that everyone needs to eat exactly a cup daily or that blueberries can prevent disease, Bremner recommends eating a varied, balanced diet rather than relying on one fruit.

Willett also told The Washington Post that his overall approach emphasizes whole grains, fruits and vegetables, plant-based proteins, healthy fats and modest amounts of meat and dairy.

Russell Brand police interrogation video emerges as new rape investigations loom after conviction

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:22:13 -0500

Russell Brand insisted he had never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity as he faced rape and sexual assault allegations that would ultimately lead to his conviction.

Newly released police video obtained by Fox News Digital shows Brand defending his sexual history during questioning by London's Metropolitan Police.

In a December 2023 interview, Brand, now 51, sat alongside his attorney and delivered a lengthy prepared statement to detectives, maintaining that his encounters were consensual.

RUSSELL BRAND FOUND GUILTY OF ONE COUNT OF RAPE AND THREE COUNTS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

"As I’ve repeatedly stated publicly … I led a very promiscuous life in the past, which I’ve spent years openly denouncing. I’ve never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity," Brand said.

He then criticized the September 2023 investigation by several media outlets, which first brought numerous allegations against him into the public spotlight.

Brand described the reporting as "defamatory and fictitious," suggesting encounters that had been consensual were later "invented or reimagined" as misconduct.

"At present, I don’t recall the names of the complainants or meeting them," he told investigators. "However, it’s entirely possible that I may have encountered them, and we may have engaged in consensual sexual activity, or physical contact."

Brand also described kissing hundreds of members of the public during press events, book signings and other public appearances.

"I did my best to be accessible and non-discriminatory and loving," he said. "I spent a lot of time at these events."

The actor acknowledged making provocative jokes and comments to people and occasionally asking casual sexual partners to leave shortly after an encounter.

RUSSELL BRAND ACCUSED OF RAPE, SEXUAL ABUSE OF 4 WOMEN; COMEDIAN DENIES ‘SERIOUS CRIMINAL ALLEGATIONS’

But when detectives pressed him about specific allegations, Brand largely declined to elaborate, repeatedly telling officers he had "nothing further to add."

"I do not intend to respond to your questions without sufficient time to consider the information to answer accurately," he said.

The video was released Thursday, Nov. 5, following a jury's decision to find Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

The actor denied the charges throughout the proceedings.

The comedian was taken into custody following the verdict and is due to be sentenced Monday, Nov. 9, at London's Southwark Crown Court, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Brand's legal troubles could extend beyond his four convictions.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that detectives are continuing to investigate rape allegations made by two additional women.

"The Met's investigation into allegations of rape made by two women remains ongoing," a spokesperson said. "The suspect has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with the allegations."

The spokesperson added that case files had been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service and that detectives remained in contact with prosecutors as further investigative work continued.

Brand faced three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault involving six women between 1999 and 2009 during his trial.

During the trial, Brand acknowledged being "reckless" and using his fame to pursue sexual relationships but maintained that the encounters were consensual. He told jurors that consent was "fundamental, essential and necessary."

Brand denied forcing any of the women to engage in sexual activity against their will.

PUT YOUR ENTERTAINMENT KNOWLEDGE TO THE TEST AND SEE HOW YOU SCORE

The prospect of prison was already hanging over Brand weeks before the jury delivered its verdict.

During an Oct. 11 episode of "Sunday Service with The Brands," his wife, Laura Gallacher, read a message from a supporter who had spent five years in prison and offered the comedian words of encouragement.

"You will get through it … The presence of God is everywhere — in prison as well," one supporter wrote.

Brand immediately interrupted.

"I don’t like things where it’s like, you might have to go to prison," he told Laura.

"No, I know," she responded, acknowledging that incarceration was a possible outcome of the trial.

"That's the nature of what a trial is," Laura said.

Brand conceded that possibility.

"That’s one of the challenges," he replied.

The couple ended the episode by praying to God "for peace and love and for all the participants in this trial or any trial."

Florida dad makes final FaceTime call to wife before dying in flash flood

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 15:02:19 -0500

A Florida father died after his vehicle became trapped in flash floodwaters, with his wife now sharing the details of a desperate final call before his death.

Joshua Bennett, 34, of Palm Bay, died Monday after heavy rainfall triggered flooding in Brevard County, along Florida's east-central coast.

Bennett had reportedly left home to buy coffee when he encountered the rising floodwaters, according to WESH 2 News.

MOM OF 2 WHO DIED RESCUING SONS DURING BAHAMAS SNORKELING TRIP IS IDENTIFIED

His wife, Stacy Petit Bennett, told the outlet her husband called her in a panic as his truck became surrounded by floodwaters on San Filippo Drive.

"He called me on FaceTime, and he was just crying, like, 'I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do,'" Stacy Petit Bennett said.

"And he said he's in the middle of a river, and his car is, like, submerged with water all around."

Stacy Petit Bennett urged her husband to break a window before the call abruptly disconnected. She said she called 911 and spent hours trying to get help for her husband.

Bennett's widow described him as an "amazing husband and dad."

"Every life is important, and everyone deserves a chance to be rescued. To be saved. He was just 34 years old. His kids are young," she said, according to WESH 2 News.

Bennett was a father of four, including three children with special needs, according to his wife.

His children include twin daughters who were born prematurely.

Reporter's Notebook: A user’s manual to upcoming leadership elections in the House and Senate

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 14:49:02 -0500

Internal party House and Senate leadership elections are some of the most fascinating exercises that unfold on Capitol Hill.

Both House and Senate Democrats and House and Senate Republicans will choose their leaders in the coming days. And the changes are going to be seismic.

But not everyone is on board with heir apparent leaders. That’s what makes this process so intriguing.

However, there are only two rules in leadership elections: You can’t beat someone with no one. And, perhaps more importantly, it’s about the math.

PROGRESSIVES FUME AT HAKEEM JEFFRIES FOR SAYING DEMOCRATS WON'T 'GET EVEN' WITH TRUMP

There are some progressives and DSA-affiliated Democrats who will be House Members next year who want someone other than House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. Who? Well, no one has said. Again, you can’t beat someone with no one. And, frankly, it’s hard to believe that Democrats would not elect the first Black speaker of the House.

But drill down on the math.

For the sake of argument, let’s say Democrats have 260 House seats in the new Congress. First, Democrats must tap a nominee for speaker in their caucus. That needs a simple majority. So, surely Jeffries will score at least 131 votes in a private ballot for speaker.

The speaker of the House is the constitutional officer for the legislative branch of government, much like the president is for the executive branch and the chief justice of the United States for the judicial branch. Thus, the ENTIRE House votes for speaker when it convenes the new Congress at noon on Jan. 3.

There are 435 members. If all members cast ballots, Jeffries simply needs 218. Jeffries could lose 40 votes or so and still prevail. So, that is not going to happen. It might not even lose more than a couple votes, frankly.

Now let’s look at the GOP and their case for minority leader. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., is running against Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.

If Democrats have 260 seats, Republicans would have 175. All INCOMING House Republicans (including non-voting delegates from U.S. territories) are allowed to vote in CONFERENCE. The selection of minority leader does NOT go before the entire House like speaker. So, the winning candidate only needs a simple majority. That would be 88.

The same for the race between House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., and Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, for minority whip.

MIKE JOHNSON'S NO 2 LAUNCHES GOP TAKEOVER BID AS HOUSE FALLS TO DEMOCRATS

The Senate Democratic Caucus and Republican Conference work much the same way as the House. A simple majority wins for majority leader in the Democratic Caucus and minority leader in the Republican Conference.

However, the selection of Senate majority leader is not a vote that plays out on the floor. The concept of "Senate majority leader" has only been around since the early 20th century and is not mentioned in the Constitution. Remember what we said about the House speaker being the head of this branch of government.

It would be hard to envision a scenario where Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., would not become majority leader after Democrats flipped the Senate in a beatdown.

First, who else is running? Well, Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, is popular among Senate Democrats. But he’s running for majority whip to succeed retiring Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill. One could see Democrats defaulting to Schatz if something happens with Schumer.

Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed, D-Mich., has said he wants to look at his options and has endorsed Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., for majority leader.

But Van Hollen isn’t running. Sen.-elect Annie Andrews, D-S.C., told colleague Bret Baier she wants a "generational change" in leadership. Sen.-elect Troy Jackson, D-Maine, and Sen.-elect Adam Hamilton, D-Kan., both said they would oppose Schumer.

FIRST MUSLIM SENATOR, FIRST BLACK FEMALE GOVERNOR: 2026 MIDTERM ELECTION RESULTS MAKE HISTORY

But again, you can’t beat someone with no one.

Here’s the math: Let’s say Democrats do win Mississippi and Alaska, giving them 56 senators who caucus with the Democrats. All Schumer needs is 29 Democrats to support him in the Caucus, and he’s the next majority leader.

There has not been as much rumbling about the future of Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D. Heretofore, President Trump has not called for new leadership in the Senate.

But Senate Republicans would choose Thune or anyone else on a secret ballot in the Senate GOP Conference. A simple majority would win. If Republicans are down to 44 seats, the winner would just need 23 votes.

Prepare for outages: This mini generator from Amazon dropped to 40% off

Fri, 02 Oct 2026 10:58:08 -0400

With sudden, intense storms becoming more commonplace, having backup power is a must. The BLUETTI Elite 10 Mini provides reliable power for all your electronics and select small appliances, without you having to run to the garage to power up a giant generator. At just four pounds, you can quite literally take it anywhere. Right now, for October Prime Day, get it now for 40% off.

BLUETTI Elite 10 Mini portable power station: $120 (40% off)

Original price: $199

If a full-size generator purchase is intimidating or simply out of your budget, the BLUETTI Elite 10 Mini still offers the power of a larger machine in a compact, countertop-friendly power station. Better yet, it's on sale right now for just $120 — nearly $80 in savings.

With an AC outlet and multiple USB and DC ports, this BLUETTI runs your must-have countertop appliances at home during blackouts, keeps your devices charged on road trips and powers a basic camping setup.

The whole setup weighs just four pounds, so it’s easy to move from room to room or throw in your luggage when traveling. Managing the system is just as easy with Bluetooth mode. Track the charging status in real time and switch between the three lighting modes — a helpful feature for emergencies.

Why is this deal worth it?

Winter is on the way, which means more frequent storms that cause blackouts. Having backup power, like this BLUETTI, on hand can help you make it through an outage without causing a huge interruption to your normal routine.

The price of this power bank is also at a sweet spot right now, and hasn’t been this low since August. A 40% discount saves you nearly $80 and gives you an entry-level mini generator that doesn’t take up a lot of space and doesn’t require any hardwiring.

What do reviewers think?

Hundreds of rave reviews land the BLUETTI Elite 10 Mini 4.3 out of 5 stars. One reviewer called it "power in a pint-sized unit," explaining that it’s an "extremely versatile and very, very compact power station."

Others also love it for its portability, even when flying:

"It’s also surprisingly lightweight and not bulky at all, which makes it easy to toss into a bag without thinking twice," a reviewer said. "TSA approval was a big reason I went with it, and it made airport security a non-issue."

Its small size doesn’t mean it’s less capable, however.

"Don't think because it is small, that it's not functional like her big brothers," said a reviewer. "I already have a BLUETTI EB3A and this Elite 10 Mini is perfect because it fills the gap where the EB3A is too big. Just keep in mind that this 10 Mini is better than a regular power bank because it has its own AC Outlet port up to 200W."

What could be better?

The most common complaint with this power station is its inability to work with Starlink. Multiple reviewers found that it’s not powerful enough to keep the connection.

"The only problem is it does not work well with a Starlink Mini satellite receiver, no matter how many connectors you try," a reviewer explained. "It doesn’t have enough power to power the satellite."

Another reviewer had the same issue:

"My BLUETTI AC200L has the same rated USB-C 100W port and powers the Starlink Mini just fine. However, despite having the same rated port, the Elite 10 leaves the Starlink Mini in an endless reboot loop."

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: $589

If you need more power but still want a portable option, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 offers three 1,500-watt AC ports, multiple USB ports and a DC port. It’s priced at a 30-day low and has hundreds of positive reviews.

"I love this power station! It’s super quiet even on regular charging mode," said a reviewer. "It’s simple to use, the app has an easy-to-use interface, …and the build of the station is very rugged."

Anker SOLIX S2000 portable power station: $1,200

Need something to power up your fridge in case of emergencies? The Anker SOLIX S2000 gives up to 35 hours of fridge backup. It’s a little heavier at 35 pounds but makes up for it in power, with eight outlets between the front and back. Reviews found that it still holds up after constant use:

"[I] powered my entire entertainment setup with it, and have done other things like cooking a steak and rice with an induction cooker and Instant Pot while off grid. So safe to say I have put the Anker to some real use, and it passed every test I threw at it."

BLUETTI FridgePower power station: $899 (47% off)

Original price: $1,699

Keep your refrigerator running for up to four days with BLUETTI’s FridgePower backup. Unlike some of BLUETTI’s other bulkier models, the FridgePower is ultra-sleek and can slide right next to your fridge for easy connecting. Reviewers largely find that the power bank works well and stores away neatly.

"It does exactly what it needs to do, which is power my fridge when the power goes out, and it does so while being out of sight and out of mind," a reviewer said. "We've had a few power outages between a few minutes up to four hours, and the fridge has stayed on as expected. We have this battery sitting on top of the fridge, and because of how it's pushed into the cabinetry space, you can't see this thing unless you're 6 feet or taller."

EBL portable power station: $590 (16% off)

Original price: $700

Save on EBL’s portable power station and get 2,400 watts to run all your devices. It supports up to 12 devices, making it the ideal camping companion or tailgating support. During outages, emergency power mode automatically switches on in seconds, so you stay online with few interruptions. One reviewer called it the "perfect power station."

"I’m really happy with this portable power station. It’s compact and easy to carry, but has plenty of power for charging phones, laptops, lights and other small devices. I especially like the multiple ports and wireless charging option. The display is clear and easy to read, and it feels solid and well-made."

Chicago Bears and NFL reopen talks with Illinois leaders to keep franchise from moving to Indiana

Fri, 06 Nov 2026 14:35:35 -0500

The Chicago Bears appeared poised to leave not only Chicago but Illinois months ago, but the club’s direction has apparently changed as efforts are underway to keep the team in the state and perhaps even in Chicago.

Earlier this week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and other NFL officials accompanied club officials, including owner George McCaskey and Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren, to a meeting with Illinois legislative leaders in Chicago.

At the meeting, the group agreed to continue working to lay a path for authoring legislation that could result in the Bears agreeing to build their new stadium in Arlington Heights, Illinois or perhaps even Chicago.

CHICAGO POLITICIANS ARE DOING WINDY CITY POLITICIAN THINGS TO TRY TO KEEP THE BEARS IN TOWN

This comes after the Bears announced in August that their "sole focus" for undergoing such a project was in Indiana.

"The Chicago Bears remain committed to building a world-class stadium and mixed-use district for our fans, the Chicagoland community and the team," the Bears said in a statement on Friday. "We continue to work collaboratively with local and state leaders in Indiana to advance our stadium development plans in Hammond, where we are finalizing due diligence details across two sites in the Wolf Lake area."

Fine, but here comes the new stuff:

"At the same time, we appreciate the recent engagement from Illinois leadership to explore legislation which allows us to share our feedback. We expect productive dialogue with both leadership teams in the coming weeks.

"We have a responsibility and obligation to explore every option available to the club, and we look forward to developing a transformational project that will attract global events and deliver jobs and economic growth to all Chicagoland."

Translation: The Bears said in late summer they were close to leaving Illinois after state lawmakers failed to offer the tax relief Indiana did.

But seeing the possibility of losing a legacy NFL franchise that is more than 100 years old to another state finally got Illinois legislators moving.

And so the Bears, who don't really want to leave town, are promising to hear them out even if it means extending what has become a stadium relocation drama.

CHICAGO MAYOR MAKES STUNNING ADMISSION ABOUT ATTENDING BEARS GAME WHILE TRYING TO KEEP TEAM IN CITY

The politicians in Illinois seem optimistic.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker said this week legislation meant to keep the Bears in Illinois is coming.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

"Well, you know, we've been working with the Chicago Bears, and we've been working with the city of Arlington Heights, as well as the folks in the city of Chicago, on where the Bears might want to build a stadium, and what that legislation will look like," Pritzker said. "I think it'll get taken up in the Veto session in mid-November and early December.

"What I can do is make sure that there is a piece of legislation that would work for the Bears. And then it's up to the Bears where they want to put their stadium, and we want to make sure that the opportunity for them is in the state of Illinois."

Illinois lawmakers previously failed to provide the tax and infrastructure certainty the Bears sought, which is what caused the franchise to turn to Hammond, and on June 5, 2026, its board voted to "advance" the Indiana project, saying it would "transform the region."

In August, Warren declared, "Our sole focus at this point in time is working on a world-class stadium and mixed-use development in Hammond, Indiana," while also saying Indiana had an "excellent deal" and that the team was working "to bring that to life."

But the NFL doesn't love that idea behind the scenes. And the Bears don't necessarily want to do that either.

No one is going to admit that publicly. The public stance remains, as the statement Friday reads, that Hammond remains the site where due diligence is being finalized and is very much a possibility.

Until it is not.
