Patriots tight end Eli Raridon and wife Anna share heartbreaking news of the death of their baby boy

New England Patriots tight end Eli Raridon will report to work on Wednesday, almost definitely with a heavy heart.

The rookie out of Notre Dame and his wife, Anna Raridon, announced Tuesday that they lost their baby boy to anencephaly, a fatal birth defect that stops the forebrain and cerebrum from forming in the womb.

There is no cure or standard treatment for the condition. About 75% of affected pregnancies end in stillbirth. Infants born alive usually pass away within a few hours or days.

"When Eli and I went in for our 20-week anatomy scan, excited to see our sweet baby boy, our hearts were forever changed," Anna wrote on her Instagram account. "Our little one was diagnosed with anencephaly, a fatal condition in which he would not survive outside the womb.

"While we are absolutely devastated that we were unable to bring our baby boy home, I am grateful to have loved him deeply, kept him safe, and had been his home for the past 9 months before he was called back to Heaven."

What comes next is a mother who, rather than getting lost in the unspeakable pain of losing a baby, chose to lean into her faith during a time of deep tribulation.

"I have often found it easy to glorify the Lord when life is going well, but it is in our deepest trials that we are drawn closest to Him," Anna continued. "We may never understand the why behind this journey, but one thing we know with certainty is that God promises to care for His children.

"I believe our little boy was lovingly knitted together in the womb by God, knowing how deeply he would be loved by our families, our friends, Eli, and me. Though his time with us was brief, his life still precious, his purpose still meaningful, and he will forever be a part of our story."

And then the Raridons left a message for their baby boy:

"I have loved you every second of your life and will miss you every second of mine. What a sweet sweet reunion ours will be🤍"

The CDC Data and Statistics on Birth Defects reports that about 1 in every 4,762 is born with anencephaly. That is roughly .02% of live births.

But while the defect is not necessarily common it is quite personal. Literature states that the recurrence rate after one pregnancy is affected by anencephaly jumps dramatically to between 2%-5%.

And while that means there is a 95%-98% chance the Raridons will never be touched by this condition again, their concern must be real.

USMNT gets into bench-clearing brawl after Chilean player kicks at goalkeeper in closing seconds of friendly

International friendlies in late September nearly four full years out from the next World Cup typically leave a lot to be desired, but that was not the case on Tuesday with the U.S. men's national team playing host to Chile in St. Louis.

The match entered the break knotted at 1-1 before the two sides traded goals just six minutes into the second half. The USMNT was able to break the tie courtesy of a Chris Richards goal in the 72nd minute before 17-year-old Mathis Albert added some cushion with a tally in the 93rd minute to secure a 4-2 victory.

While it seemed likely that Albert's goal in stoppage time would be the final noteworthy moment of the match, that was very much not the case.

Nearly a full minute beyond the five minutes of allotted stoppage time had come off the clock; USMNT goalkeeper Brian Schwake fell on a loose ball, looking to milk the final seconds of the contest.

Chilean forward Leandro Hernandez continued his jog towards Schwake and appeared to take a small kick at the ball. Richards saw Hernandez's kick at the ball, took exception, and within seconds every player on the field was pushing and shoving.

The benches cleared with personnel from both teams sprinting onto the pitch, and that included USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who was caught right in the middle of the altercation.

"It’s a crazy situation," Pochettino said after the final whistle. "You try to divide the players and calm down. Sometimes, when you are winning you have to understand the opponent may go to the line and walk over the line in frustration."

USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams was the most animated of the bunch as cameras caught him pointing towards Chilean players shouting at them while being held back by teammates.

After the two sides were finally separated and all had cooled off, Richards and Hernandez were the only two players who were given yellow cards.

While the two sides trading shoves and expletives capped off the night, Albert's tally in stoppage time was a historical moment for the USMNT as he became the youngest player in team history to find the back of the net for the red, white, and blue.

Flydubai passenger says co-pilot stabbed captain before terrifying plunge, emergency landing

A Flydubai passenger said the co-pilot apparently stabbed the captain during a cockpit altercation before the Israel-bound jet plunged thousands of feet, triggering a terrifying scene aboard the aircraft and an emergency diversion to Saudi Arabia Wednesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later said one of the pilots stabbed the other and apparently attempted to crash the aircraft, which was carrying mostly Israeli passengers. Netanyahu said a passenger and crew member managed to enter the cockpit and overpower the alleged attacker as he tried to sabotage the aircraft's systems, allowing another crew member to stabilize the plane.

"I salute the heroes who showed extraordinary bravery and, according to the passenger's account, saved many lives," Netanyahu said, according to an unofficial translation of his remarks. He added that the pilot accused of carrying out the stabbing was arrested and was being investigated by Saudi authorities.

The passenger told Fox News that accounts of what happened remained conflicting, but said passengers understood that the co-pilot had stabbed the captain and then collapsed onto the controls.

"There are many different accounts, but apparently the co-pilot stabbed the captain and collapsed onto the controls, shutting down the entire instrument panel. We began plunging downward for several minutes. Everyone on the plane was screaming, the overhead compartments opened, and the power went out. We were sure we were going to die. It was very scary," the passenger said.

Flydubai later confirmed that an "altercation occurred in the flight deck," saying on-duty Flydubai crew traveling aboard the flight secured the aircraft, diverted it and landed safely in Tabuk. The airline did not confirm the reported stabbing and said the underlying reasons and motives remained under formal investigation.

MIDAIR SCARE FORCES PACKED PASSENGER JET INTO EMERGENCY LANDING, TRAVELERS HOSPITALIZED

Saudi Arabia's Tabuk airport said both pilots were hospitalized after suffering injuries, according to Reuters. An investigation into the incident remains underway.

The Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and everyone aboard was reported safe, according to officials.

A regional official briefed on the incident said an altercation broke out in the cockpit and apparently involved the pilots, though it was not immediately clear what sparked the confrontation. Israeli media, citing security officials, also reported that a dispute between the two pilots was behind the emergency.

"The crew have been questioned as part of the investigation," the regional official said, according to The Associated Press, without saying whether anyone had been detained.

The incident prompted an immediate security response in Israel, where authorities initially feared the plane — carrying more than 100 Israeli passengers, according to The Jerusalem Post — could have been hijacked. Israel scrambled fighter jets as the situation unfolded.

AMERICANS WARNED AGAINST TRAVEL PLANS AS TERRORISM THREATENS POPULAR DESTINATION

Two Israeli officials told Reuters that Israel's assessment was that the incident may have been an attempted "terror attack." The Jerusalem Post separately reported that the growing assessment among Israel's security establishment, including the IDF, Mossad and Shin Bet, was that the incident was intended as an act of terror.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz went further, calling the incident an "attempted jihadist terrorist attack" that was thwarted by Israeli passengers who entered the cockpit and overpowered the alleged attacker.

"According to the preliminary information available to us, the terrorist had one intention: to crash the aircraft with everyone on board," Katz said.

The aircraft transmitted an emergency alert during the flight, according to publicly available flight-tracking information. Flight FZ1073 had departed Dubai and was headed for Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv before diverting to Tabuk.

Flightradar24 data showed the aircraft suddenly plunging nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds before the first emergency signal, according to Reuters.

Capt. Meidan Barr, former chairman of the Israel Airline Pilot Association, told Fox News Channel that such a rapid loss of altitude would ordinarily resemble an emergency descent, such as one performed following a loss of cabin pressure.

"Losing like 15,000 feet in two or three minutes, that is something that you do in, like, an emergency descent when you lose pressure," Barr said, adding that the aircraft's safe landing was significant and would allow investigators to determine what went wrong.

Flight-tracking data also showed the aircraft transmitting emergency transponder code 7700 before briefly switching to 7500, a code used to signal unlawful interference with an aircraft, and later returning to 7700.

Passengers described a tense scene aboard the aircraft as the emergency unfolded. Travelers told Israel's Channel 12 by phone that they heard shouting from passengers near the front of the plane who had apparently heard the cockpit altercation. They also said the aircraft dipped steeply before landing in Saudi Arabia.

The account provided directly to Fox News offered a more harrowing description of the sudden descent, with the passenger saying people screamed as overhead compartments opened and power aboard the aircraft went out.

Yasmin Abukasis, whose daughter was aboard the flight, told Fox News at Ben Gurion International Airport that her daughter described passengers rushing to intervene during the cockpit confrontation.

Abukasis said her daughter told her that a man had a knife and that passengers grabbed his hand and forced him to the floor amid significant bleeding. She also said two other pilots subsequently took control of the aircraft.

After landing, passengers remained aboard the plane as a heavy Saudi security presence surrounded the aircraft, according to their accounts to the Israeli outlet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office later said the situation was under control and that Israeli authorities were working to bring the passengers home. The scare came as Netanyahu has warned in recent days about unspecified heightened security threats facing Israel.

Netanyahu convened security consultations over the incident and cleared the remainder of his schedule to manage the crisis, according to Reuters. The Jerusalem Post reported that Israeli airspace was temporarily closed before reopening after the aircraft landed in Saudi Arabia.

Flydubai said it deployed two replacement aircraft to Tabuk to relieve the passengers and crew and that the incident had no impact on its other scheduled operations.

"At this early stage, the underlying reasons and motives behind this event are unknown and remain subject to a formal investigation," a Flydubai spokesperson said. "We urge all parties to refrain from premature speculation while authorities gather the facts."

The exact circumstances surrounding the reported cockpit confrontation remained unclear Wednesday.

While disputes between pilots serious enough to affect a flight are rare, similar incidents have occurred. Two Air France pilots were suspended in 2022 after fighting in the cockpit during a flight from Geneva to Paris. That aircraft did not divert and landed as scheduled.

The initial hijacking fears carried particular weight in Israel, where aviation security has long been shaped by a history of attacks on Israeli travelers and aircraft. Palestinian militants carried out a series of hijackings and attacks involving Israelis during the 1960s and 1970s. Israel has not experienced an aircraft hijacking in decades and maintains stringent security procedures for Israel-bound flights.

After finding success on stage and screen, and during one of the peaks of his career, the comedian discovered that he was essentially broke and his older half-brother, Darryl McCauley — who also served as his business manager — was on the run with a fraction of his fortune.

Cook, 54, exclusively told Fox News Digital that the betrayal not only devastated him financially, but also impacted his mental health as he attempted to reconcile his brother's actions while finally speaking out in the new documentary, "Funny Money: The Dane Cook Story."

"It was the scarlet letter of humiliation that I felt like he branded on me," Cook said.

Cook noted that the health and wellness aspect of his entire career was "trying to regulate that and share not only through my comedy, but the back channels of MySpace or the communication of like, 'I'm just like you, but I just did it.'"

"That's happening back channel," he said. "Publicly, I'm the bell of the ball, all the cool stuff that's happening there, but he knew, only he knew that I'd come home every day after school with panic attacks and dreading the next day having to go to school because I was just so scared of people."

He added, "I was so scared to be around other kids."

McCauley pleaded guilty in 2010 to multiple counts of larceny, forgery and embezzlement, while his wife, Erika McCauley, also pleaded guilty to larceny charges. In addition, they were both ordered to pay restitution, a fee which Cook waved against Erika for her participation in the documentary.

"It's like, the money can come and go, and fame can come and go, and that's life. There's so many things that are out of your control," he said. "But that part that he knew about of me was, like man, he let that happen to me."

While Cook resented his brother's action, the comedian also warned that he's "the son of a different dad" as McCauley was his older half-brother.

"I'm the son of George Cook, and he forgot that I am my father's son," Cook declared. "We are conditioned, I think, the DNA of the Cook family is like, we put wins in the win column, and we take our losses and we reconfigure."

"We don't sit in them and go, 'Oh, the engine broke,' and tell people we used to have a good engine. That's just not, that's not me. That's not us."

He added, "I think part of him probably sitting in that courtroom when I read that impact letter was going like, 'Damn, I think he's going to come back stronger from this,' but neither of us knew when at that time, or if."

While Cook isn't sure if he'll ever see any of the money his brother stole or speak to him again, he found support from his sisters and wife Kelsi.

"This documentary wouldn't be here without her," Cook said of his bride of three years. "I wouldn't have a deeper faith ... She's brought faith back into my life in ways that were just absolutely lovely."

Democrats split on AOC as some battleground candidates distance themselves from 'Squad' lawmaker

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is fast becoming a central figurehead in the 2026 midterm election cycle, and a polarizing one at that.

Some moderate candidates are shunning the progressive rising star's endorsement, Axios reported this week, while others in tight races are welcoming her with open arms.

Several Democratic strategists who spoke with Fox News Digital said they were not shocked that some on the left are keeping her at arm's length.

"It wasn't especially surprising, like, her numbers with independent voters aren't always great, and it's very circumstantial depending upon where you would want to deploy somebody with that type of background and somebody who, you know, a lot of Americans have an impression of already — sometimes positive, sometimes negative," Mike Nellis, a former political advisor for former Vice President Kamala Harris, told Fox News Digital. "I always just encourage people, like, you do what you gotta do, cause it's hard to play coalition politics."

And there are at least two candidates who appear to think the original "Squad" member is more of a liability.

Cait Conley, who is running to unseat Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., in a district near Ocasio-Cortez's, told CNN's "State of the Union," "I'm good" when asked if she would campaign with Democratic socialists like her or New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Conley's campaign did not return a request for comment by Fox News Digital by publication time.

And Sam Forstag in Montana reportedly removed all mention of Ocasio-Cortez's endorsement from his campaign website. He told Axios, "I don't intend to be having a lot of folks from out of state campaigning with me over these next 40 days."

Forstag's campaign did not return multiple emailed requests for comment by Fox News Digital.

"In the final days leading up to an election, you want to make your message specific and local and repeatable and national celebrities just don’t help with that," a veteran Democratic strategist who works on House and Senate campaigns told Fox News Digital.

The strategist, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely, said "AOC is more of a celebrity" than most of the other potential 2028 Democratic presidential contenders. "I think AOC is one of the few Democrats who has transcended to just culture generally, which makes her visits heavier in the discourse."

And that celebrity status is being used in other key races. Ocasio-Cortez joined forces with fellow progressive champion Sen. Bernie Sanders to headline a trio of rallies for left-wing candidate Abdul El-Sayed in July, a couple of weeks before the Democratic Senate primary in the key battleground state of Michigan.

El-Sayed ended up narrowly edging more moderate Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., in a nomination battle that highlighted the ongoing battle between the left and the center for the ideological future of the Democratic Party.

While Ocasio-Cortez has yet to return to Michigan since the early August primary, El-Sayed’s campaign says they’d welcome her return to the campaign trail.

"There are a lot of Michiganders who can't wait to have AOC back in town," El-Sayed campaign communications director Roxie Richner told Fox News Digital.

El-Sayed and former House Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., are facing off in the race to succeed Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich. The midterm showdown is a must-hold for the Democrats as they try to win back the Senate majority from the Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez also appeared in Florida recently alongside far-left Senate candidate Angie Nixon, who is running an underdog campaign against Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla.

A Democratic victory there is a long shot, but Ocasio-Cortez's campaign trail travels come as speculation mounts about her own future political plans.

The Democratic socialist is widely seen as a potential successor to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., when he is through in the upper chamber. But there's also buzz about a potential 2028 presidential campaign — something Ocasio-Cortez has not confirmed nor denied.

"I think she's a unique political talent. She's clearly got, like, a large group of people in the country who would get behind her, and those are the beginnings of what you need to build an operation to run for president. So I think she'd be stupid not to think about it," Nellis said. "At the same time, you know, do you take a 5% chance of being the Democratic nominee... or do you take like a much better than 50-50 chance of being the next United States senator from New York? If it were me advising her, I'd probably tell her to run for Senate."

Season one ended on March 21, 2026, and fans have been eager for new episodes for one very simple reason:

TAYLOR SHERIDAN'S 'LANDMAN,' 'THE MADISON' SNUBBED BY EMMYS AS EXPERT HAILS HIM AS TV'S 'SIX-TIME CHAMPION'

Season two was filmed before the series premiere even aired.

Well, viewers finally starting to get an idea of when "The Madison" will return for season two, and it won't be in 2026.

"I got cast in the show back in 2024, and our first season came out in 2026, and then season two is going to come out top of 2027. And we’ll be back shooting season three for top of 2027 as well, so stay tuned," actress Danielle Vasinova, who plays Kestrel Harris on the series, told US Weekly.

Actor Kevin Zegers further told the outlet, "It was mostly nice to shoot a second season before anyone had seen the first season, just because I think sometimes the show comes out and the vibes change on set because everyone’s kind of like the thing you’re making has been consumed. So, having made the second now, we’re going back to make the third at the beginning of next year."

Now, fans know season two will arrive at some point in 2027 – likely early in the year – and production on season three will begin roughly the same time.

That means fans are looking at a late 2027 or early 2028 release for the third season of the hit show with Russell and Pfeiffer.

Will there be a fourth season? Time will tell, but given the early success of "The Madison" and Sheridan's habit of stacking success on top of success, I wouldn't rule anything out.

Welcome to the final Wednesday Screencaps of September and sorta my final Screencaps of the week as I prepare to head out of here for a couple of days to get in one last mini golf trip with friends before winter sets in.

It's a bittersweet moment this time of the year. On one hand, it's nice to get out on the open road to see what the golf gods have in store for us. On the other hand, I know that once this 48-hour rendezvous is over, it's time to prepare for hunkering down. Sure, there will be random Sundays where it's 74 in November and I get out, but there's something about that energy that runs through the body over a golf trip.

This one will be interesting. It was supposed to be back in northern Michigan, but the weather is going to be tricky up there. With rain in the forecast, my buddy Diesel says we have to go south or east. I'm leaving this up to him.

My biggest takeaway from Danica's trip content is that it must be nice to have New Zealand golf trip money. According to Gemini, a mid-range golf trip half-way around the world to New Zealand would cost somewhere around $4,000-$5,500. That would include 5-6 rounds and an Airbnb.

As for Te Arai Links where Danica's group played, that will cost you around $600 a round, but this time of year, Gemini reports greens fees are around $430 BEFORE you pay for the caddie, which will cost you $140, plus a tip and if you're using a forecaddie, that's another $140 for the group, PLUS a tip.

Let's face it, guys, we'd have to budget $10k for a trip like this. I'm not buying Gemini's estimations. After figuring in golf bets, booze, Ubers closer to the entertainment districts, the AI bot is now up to $7k-$10k just like I thought.

USC radio announcer's description of the Dante Moore hit is one of the most embarrassing things ever

The only thing more shocking than the hit from USC linebacker Desman Stephens on Oregon QB Dante Moore last Saturday was radio announcer Pete Arbogast's description of it.

I know home team radio guys are known to be homers, and that's fine. I get it. That's expected. But this might just take the cake.

For those who missed it, Stephens hit a sliding Moore in the helmet during the second quarter, knocking Moore out of the game and sending the star quarterback to the hospital down the street on a stretcher. The hit was brutal. Stephens' reaction to the play, while Moore was lying lifeless on the turf, was even more brutal.

DAN LANNING BLASTS USC AFTER OREGON'S WIN, AS LINCOLN RILEY OFFICIALLY ENTERS HOT SEAT IN LA

Oregon coach Dan Lanning called the entire sequence "disgusting," which was a fair description. Moore was suspended for one game, and both he and Trojans coach Lincoln Riley issued apologies after the game.

Moore is fine, but obviously in concussion protocol and out indefinitely.

OK, we all caught up now? Good. Let's now leave the field and head up the USC broadcast booth, where Arbogast delivered the following description of the hit in real-time to his listening audience:

"He did not try to slide feet first. Stephens went in helmet-first, but he kind of ran into Dante Moore, who ducked into that hit. I did not see him put his feet out first. I saw him dive forward."

Amazing. What a sequence. What analysis. I've never seen anything like it. Just stunning.

Even when the rest of the crew told Arbogast that Moore did, indeed, slide feet first, he offered this bit of incredible spin.

The look to the camera from color analyst Shaun Cody immediately after that analysis was just perfect. He's just as stunned as we are listening to it. Cody, by the way, is a former USC All-American. If he's telling you it's a dirty hit ... it's a dirty hit, Pete.

Just incredible commentary here from USC's longtime play-by-plan man. I can't believe this isn't AI. Seriously, I'm stunned this is real.

Republicans have a midterm problem. Reagan’s American vision is the answer

Now in the autumn of this critical political season, a midterm loss of Congress for Republicans feels inevitable, as the last five midterm elections saw the party in power lose seats in Congress.

This trend goes back even longer than the 2000s. Since 1946, the president’s party has lost seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in 18 of 20 midterm elections (90% of the time).

President Donald Trump ran into this trend in his first term when, in 2018, Republicans lost 41 seats in the House — though they did gain two seats in the U.S. Senate.

MIDTERM HISTORY MASSIVELY FAVORS DEMOCRATS. BUT THEY ARE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE

Despite the pattern, a loss is not inevitable. Consider Ronald Reagan’s 1980 election eve address "A Vision for America." This speech came at a time of great national peril and discontentment, so, to give clarity to his positive vision, Reagan drew on American heroes from astronauts to John Wayne:

"Last year I lost a friend who was more than a symbol of the Hollywood dream industry; to millions he was a symbol of our country itself. And when he died, the headlines seemed to convey all the doubt about America, all the nostalgia for a seemingly lost past.

REPUBLICANS NEED A REAGAN-STYLE VISION TO WIN THE BATTLE OVER AMERICA'S FUTURE

"'The Last American Hero,' said one headline, ‘Mr. America dies,’ said another.

"Well, I knew John Wayne well, and no one would have been angrier at being called the 'last American hero.'

"Just before his death, he said in his own blunt way, 'Just give the American people a good cause, and there’s nothing they can’t lick.'"

Republicans have done a poor job giving the American people a good cause. The thing is, the right cause is what led to the two exceptions.

REPUBLICANS FACE BRUTAL MIDTERM HEADWINDS. SIX FORCES COULD HELP THEM DEFY HISTORY.

The last exception to the party in power losing seats in a midterm was in 2002, when Republicans under George W. Bush gained eight seats. This occurred during a time of high presidential approval ratings after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The other modern exception was in 1998, when Democrats gained five seats under Bill Clinton during a time of high presidential approval thanks to a strong economy (ironically, in part because Republicans, under Speaker Newt Gingrich, balanced the budget and strong-armed a temporarily weakened Clinton into agreeing to welfare reform).

So, both of these exceptions came at times of strong national unity. But, to be more precise, the exceptions came when voters rallied to the party in power for largely nationalistic reasons.

This, if articulated cleanly, could and should benefit Republicans, as the Democrats have turned so far left that the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) official platform now feels like it could be the next platform for the party of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

OUR CLOSING ARGUMENT: THE MIDTERMS ARE A REFERENDUM ON WHO RUNS YOUR LIFE

But how can Republicans not only show this stark contrast to voters, but also unleash a national fervor for truth, justice, and the American way, as the American comic book hero Superman once put it?

As Reagan did, the best way to do this is to herald our heroes.

America has innovators, entrepreneurs, capitalists, and heroes in blue and green; we have armed citizens who defend themselves and others; we have civil-rights champions like Harmeet Dhillon; we have explorers who would go back to the moon and then to Mars thanks to entrepreneurs like Elon Musk... these and other heroes can also be juxtaposed beside the so-called heroes of today’s left (the deep-state bureaucrats, anti-Israel activists, open-border politicians, proponents of allowing men into women’s sports, gun grabbers, and more) to show who is actually for American freedom.

Do voters want the low taxes, pro-freedom agenda of, say, Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis, or do they want the high taxes and increasing special-interest squalor of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s California? Do voters want our heroes in blue to maintain what is now the lowest violent-crime rate America has seen in more than half a century, or do they want George Soros-backed district attorneys to give criminals get-out-of-jail-free cards again and again so they can prey on us?

Do voters want Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement to let us know what is in our food and more, or do they want big food to go back to writing our guidelines?

Do voters want to be led by an elite class of "experts," such as we were during Covid by Anthony Fauci, or do they want the individual autonomy to freely decide for themselves?

Each issue needs to be shown in vivid and very human terms. Reagan, again, understood this. Near the end of his "Vision for America" speech, Reagan spoke of American astronauts who had lost their lives in the quest to reach the moon before saying, "These were not the deeds of men who set out to be heroes. In many ways, they were ordinary Americans whose spontaneous response to time and circumstance gave us a glimpse into the soul of this country and the enduring vigor of her people."

Americans right now are not getting enough of this kind of pro-American vision of our future, but the vast majority of them want it so badly.

NASCAR star sends chilling warning as series drops hammer on 'cowards' who attacked driver

NASCAR has dropped the hammer on the crew that jumped, attacked, and beat two-time Cup Series winner Corey Heim in front of a Martinsville hot dog shack last weekend.

The series issued several major penalties and suspensions to both Chad Bryant and Steve Civatarese, suspending both indefinitely from NASCAR events — as well as the 2027 event at Martinsville. Both are also on probation for a year.

Bryant, the team owner at the center of last Saturday's confrontation, was fined $2,000 and must attend anger management through a NASCAR-approved program. Civatarese was fined $1,000. Five others were also fined and put on probation.

Denny Hamlin warns NASCAR over recent fights

A couple things right off the bat ...

I believe this is one of the biggest, if not the biggest penalty handed down by NASCAR for a late model race. Remember, this wasn't an ARCA, Truck, O'Reilly or Cup race. This was a late model race. The sanctioning body rarely gets involved with those races.
The fines are fairly tiny, if we're being honest. Five other crew members were also fined $500 each. Not sure NASCAR is really setting a precedent there. I could afford that, and I ain't exactly getting paid the big bucks over here.
Chad Bryant having to attend anger management is probably fair given the video. I wonder if he reduces his suspension/probation time when he's done?
Again, this is abnormal for NASCAR to get involved in a race at this level, which shows you A) how bad it was, but B) they listen to drivers/fans/social media more than any other sport.

Speaking of drivers ...

Denny Hamlin, who is the unofficial spokesperson for the entire Cup garage, went on his "Actions Detrimental" podcast on Monday, absolutely ripped everyone involved, and then sent a fairly strong warning to NASCAR.

"Complete Classlessness. Yeah. From Chad Bryant, the owner and his team to wait on Corey ... Listen to what they did. Those cowards waited on Corey Heim to leave his car and leave his team and then jump him while he was on the way to his hauler," Hamlin said. "I don't know who's in charge of NASCAR regional, but there's absolutely no way that though any of those guys should be in a pit lane for the next year at least.

"I want them to say publicly what they do to them. And if it's nothing, I will have a major problem. But none of those cowards should be in a pit lane in the foreseeable future."

Hamlin went on to say that NASCAR had to "get control" of Martinsville, adding that it was "spiraling out of control."

Not sure these penalties and suspensions did quite that, but I suppose they do send a message. I reckon we'll see down the road if anyone received it.

Turn on lost-phone settings before you need them

Or maybe somebody walked away with it. The worst time to start figuring out your phone's tracking features is after it disappears. 8 BIGGEST THINGS WE LEARNED FROM APPLE'S 2026 EVENT

Turn on Find My iPhone in iOS 27

Apple's Find My system can help locate an iPhone when it is online. With the right settings enabled, supported iPhones can also remain findable when they are offline or for a period after they have been turned off.

How to turn on Find My iPhone

Open Settings
Tap your name
Tap Find My
Tap Find My iPhone
Turn on Find My iPhone
Turn on Find My network
Turn on Send Last Location

Find My network lets nearby Apple devices securely help locate your iPhone when it cannot connect to Wi-Fi or cellular service. On supported iPhones, Apple says the Find My network can locate the phone for up to 24 hours after it is turned off or up to five hours while it is in power reserve mode. Meanwhile, Send Last Location automatically sends your iPhone's location to Apple when its battery reaches a critically low level. That could give you one more place to check if the battery dies before you realize your phone is missing.

Turn on Stolen Device Protection too

While you are there, I would check another iPhone security feature called Stolen Device Protection. Open Settings > Face ID & Passcode and enter your passcode. Tap Stolen Device Protection, then make sure it is turned on. By default, Apple applies its added security requirements when your iPhone is away from familiar locations such as home or work. You can make those protections stronger by choosing Always under Require Security Delay. Stolen Device Protection can require Face ID or Touch ID for sensitive actions. Certain account changes can also trigger a one-hour Security Delay followed by another biometric check. Find My cannot be turned off while Stolen Device Protection is enabled. That extra hurdle can be especially useful if someone steals your iPhone and has also seen or learned your passcode.

STOLEN IPHONES FUEL SCARY PASSCODE SCAM

Google Pixel owners should check Find Hub

Google now calls its lost-device service Find Hub. If you have added a Google Account to your Pixel, Find Hub is usually enabled automatically. Still, I would check these settings before you ever need them.

How to check Find Hub on a Pixel

Open Settings
Tap Security & privacy
Tap Lost device protection
Tap Find Hub
Make sure Allow device to be located is turned on
Tap Find your offline devices
Choose the offline-finding option you prefer

For the broadest coverage, choose With network everywhere if that option appears on your Pixel. This lets nearby Android devices help locate your phone when it cannot connect normally.

You should also open Settings > Location and make sure Use location is turned on. Google recommends setting a PIN, pattern or password too. A screen lock helps your Pixel use Find Hub's end-to-end encrypted offline-finding network. Supported newer Pixel phones can also remain findable through Find Hub for several hours after the battery runs out or the phone is powered off. For that feature to work, Bluetooth, Location and offline finding should be enabled before the phone shuts down.

Check your Pixel's theft protections too

Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Lost device protection. From there, review the additional theft safeguards available on your Pixel. Depending on your device and software version, you may see Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, Remote Lock and Identity Check. These features can automatically lock your phone in certain situations or require biometric authentication before sensitive account changes are made. Find Hub helps you locate the phone, while these additional protections can help secure it if someone takes it.

Samsung Galaxy owners have two finding systems

If you use a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can take advantage of both Google Find Hub and Samsung's own device-finding tools.

How to turn on Samsung Lost device protection

Open Settings
Tap Security and privacy
Tap Lost device protection
Tap Find My Mobile
Turn on Allow this phone to be found
Turn on Send last location
Turn on Offline finding

You will need a Samsung account on the phone to use Samsung Find and SmartThings Find. Send last location can preserve the phone's last known location. Offline finding lets nearby Galaxy devices help update the location when your phone cannot connect normally. Samsung says that if the phone is powered off, you may only see its last known location. That makes turning these protections on ahead of time especially useful.

Check Google Find Hub on your Galaxy too

I would keep Google Find Hub available on a Samsung phone as well. Samsung's current instructions say you can verify it by opening Settings > Google Services > Find Hub > tap on your device > Settings and checking that Allow device to be located is turned on. That gives Galaxy owners another way to locate or secure a missing phone through their Google Account. You may see slightly different wording depending on your Galaxy model, carrier or software version. Samsung notes that some menus can vary between devices.

What to do when your phone actually disappears

If an iPhone goes missing, open Find My on another Apple device or use Apple's Find Devices service through iCloud.com. From there, you can view the phone on a map, play a sound or mark it as lost.

Google Pixel and other Android owners can open the Find Hub app on another Android device or use Google's Find Hub through a web browser. You can locate the phone, play a sound or mark it as lost. You can also erase the device remotely if recovery looks unlikely.

Samsung Galaxy owners can use Samsung Find or SmartThings Find through their Samsung account in addition to Google Find Hub.

If the phone appears to be sitting somewhere nearby, playing a sound can save you from tearing the house apart. However, if the map shows your phone somewhere unfamiliar and you suspect it was stolen, avoid trying to recover it yourself. Contact law enforcement instead.

Watch out for scams after your phone is stolen

Losing the phone can also open the door to another problem. Thieves have used convincing Apple-style texts and fake Find My websites to trick stolen iPhone owners into revealing their passcodes. A message may claim that your missing phone has suddenly been found and include a link where you can supposedly see its location. Avoid tapping those links. Instead, open Find My yourself or go directly to Apple's official Find Devices service. The same basic rule applies to Android. If a message claims your missing device has been located, open Google Find Hub or Samsung Find directly rather than signing in through a link somebody sent you.

Pro tip: Use strong antivirus software. Strong security software can help warn you about malicious links, phishing sites and other online threats that may appear after your phone is stolen. It adds another layer of protection, but you should still avoid clicking unexpected messages claiming your missing phone has been found. A few minutes now can save a lot of panic later

Most of us do not think much about these settings while our phone is sitting safely in our hand. Then the phone disappears and suddenly every one of them becomes very important. I would check them now. Make sure your phone can be located, make sure offline finding is enabled and confirm that you know which account you would need to sign in to from another device. You may never need any of these features. If you do, you will already know where to start.

Ireland’s elites have found their new religion: Hating Israel

For proof that antisemitism destroys everything it touches, look no further than the Republic of Ireland.

Once a famously friendly country, wishing "A hundred thousand welcomes" to every visitor, Ireland now seethes with Israelophobia.

What went wrong?

IRISH NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT SHAKING HANDS WITH ISRAELI OPPONENTS

The extent of Ireland’s fear and loathing of the Jewish state was apparent in its soccer clash against Israel on Sunday.

The two teams met as part of the UEFA Nations League. From the minute the fixture was announced, Ireland was gripped by rage. "Why would we want to play against those genocidal lunatics?" asked Dublin’s keffiyeh-adorned chattering class.

A Maoist fury descended on the Emerald Isle. A campaign was launched – "Stop The Game" – to try to save "our boys" from the shame of sharing a pitch with Israelis.

Sportspeople, politicians, the media and the Dublin left clubbed together to demand the match be called off. Irish soccer players should not be made to mingle with "genocidal murderers," they cried, conjuring up a demented vision of the boys in green being set upon by wild-eyed Israeli players.

At one point, the keffiyeh mob gathered outside the Dublin hotel the Irish soccer team was staying in, barking through megaphones for the game to be stopped.

In the end, it went ahead. For security reasons, it had to be played behind closed doors in a neutral country – Hungary.

Yet even at the game, the Irish couldn’t resist landing a smug blow on Israel. The Irish players bowed their heads during the Israeli national anthem. They wore black arm bands for those killed in Israel’s "genocide."

Worse, they refused to shake the Israeli players’ hands, as if they were morally diseased; as if you might catch the genocide bug simply by touching those people. It was churlish, narcissistic and profoundly unsporting.

Ireland has been consumed, head to toe, by the anti-Israel frenzy. Hating Israel is now the moral glue of the cultural establishment. They define their "virtue" through their animus for the Jewish homeland. The more you hate Israel, the more virtuous you become.

The mania is everywhere. The media is obsessed with what it falsely calls Israel’s "war crimes."

A recent analysis found that between January and May this year, four of Ireland’s main media outlets, including state broadcaster RTE, published 3,007 reports about "Israel-Palestine." That’s 20 a day. More than on any other topic.

The hate is rife in political circles, too. Politicians openly refer to the "disgusting Zionist regime."

The Irish government has even agitated for a watering down of the meaning of "genocide" in order that we might finally find Israel guilty of it. Shorter version: Let’s stitch up the Jews.

Ireland’s biggest cultural exports – from rap outfit Kneecap to bestselling author Sally Rooney – speak of little else besides Israel.

You can feel the anti-Israel animus everywhere. Not only in Dublin, Europe’s undisputed capital of Israelophobia. Also in the countryside. I was cycling in the West recently when I saw a Palestinian flag in a random field of sheep. Sheep for Palestine? How fitting.

Things got so bad that Israel took the extraordinary decision to shut its embassy in Dublin in 2024, citing Ireland’s "demonization of the Jewish state."

The Irish will say they are just "criticizing Israel." Surely no one’s buying this anymore? "Criticism of Israel" crosses the line into antisemitic bigotry when it becomes disproportionate and obsessive. When it promotes the great, toxic falsehood of our age – namely that Israel is a uniquely barbarous nation, not unlike the Nazis of the 1930s.

There are only around 3,000 Jews in Ireland. As for the Jewish state – it is 2,500 miles from Dublin, a distant nation over which the Irish have no influence whatsoever.

So why have Ireland’s elites become so feverishly obsessed with that tiny country?

I think it stems from Ireland’s own moral disarray. Ever since the slow-motion collapse of the Catholic Church, Ireland has been on the hunt for a new system of morality, for a new narrative of good and evil.

And it has found it in the Israel-Gaza crisis. Israel has become a kind of Satan substitute for post-Catholic Ireland, a demonic entity against which the Irish might measure their virtue.

Irishness is now defined almost entirely by its antipathy to Israel. Ed Sheeran, who calls himself "culturally Irish," found this out following the Macklemore scandal. Sheeran was virtually unpersoned in Ireland for failing to be sufficiently venomous about the Jewish state. He should "never feel welcome in Ireland ever again," fumed one columnist.

There you have it: to be Irish is to hate Israel. Antisemitism has always been an all-consuming mind virus, a blinding conspiracy theory where the Jews come to be seen as the source of every earthly ill. And right now, Ireland has got this virus bad.

Details emerge in incident between Aces star A'ja Wilson and Fever fan during playoff game

Caitlin Clark put together a historic performance as the Indiana Fever cruised to a 99-89 victory in Game 2 of their playoff matchup against the Aces on Tuesday, forcing a win-or-go-home Game 3 in Las Vegas.

The biggest story is what happened off the court, though.

With four minutes left in the game, A'ja Wilson drew a controversial blocking foul on Sophie Cunningham. She then saw a fan sitting a few rows back in the baseline courtside seats and took exception with him pointing and saying something to her. She then went out of her way to go two rows deep into the crowd to confront the fan, who had since sat down.

The Amazon Prime Video broadcasters all considered the male Fever fan guilty before details of what actually happened came out, scolding him on air for his behavior. They had no facts to back up their claims and pronounced Wilson a victim of unsportsmanlike fan behavior as the man was escorted from his seats by security.

The fan was quickly deemed innocent by the Fever saying, "Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena. We consider the matter closed."

A fan sitting next to the man involved in the confrontation with Wilson shared details with OutKick about the incident.

According to the fan, the man simply said: "It (the foul) is on you!" while pointing at Wilson.

The fan also said that Wilson kept yelling, "You don't point at me!"

That’s it. Nothing sexist. Nothing race-related. No profanity. Just a fan being a fan. Wilson was set off by a fan sitting courtside, who believed the blocking foul to be a charge. Oh, the horror!

The fan also told OutKick when the man returned to his seat minutes later, he received "thunderous applause" and was "high-fiving other fans."

Wilson even admitted postgame that her confrontation with the fan wasn't because she was offended by what he said, but that his action of taking a half step forward toward the court was "unacceptable."

"If I see a man stepping towards me, I don’t give a damn what you said … That’s unacceptable," she said.

The fan also refuted the claims that the ejected fan was "coming at her." He said, "He was not obnoxious or louder than anyone else. There was never any sense of "coming at her." He was seated by the time she was near him." He also mentioned that the fan was escorted out quickly because "the Aces were so adamant he left."

Now that the truth of what was said is out there, further proving the man's innocence, we can determine that there was no justifiable reason for Wilson to enter the seating area, the Amazon Prime broadcast team should apologize, and the WNBA should give an explanation as to why Wilson was not ejected.

According to Rule 12A, Section V: Any player, coach, or trainer who deliberately enters the spectator stands during a game will be automatically ejected.

The rulebook also explicitly states that the first row of seats is considered the beginning of the spectator stands.

Wilson's actions seem to have warranted an ejection by the letter of the law.

This was just another unnecessary fan incident involving a Fever supporter that was ejected and then proven innocent. It's happened multiple times this season alone.

Aces' Jackie Young had two male Fever fans escorted from their seats at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They were both proven innocent by arena security, just like the fan from Game 2 Tuesday. Also, Amazon Prime was covering that game and the broadcasters considered the men guilty before proven innocent.

This is just another mess for the WNBA, a terrible look for A'ja Wilson, and wildly unprofessional from Amazon Prime Video.

'Ruthless' breaks down election details neglected by mainstream media

As midterm races gear up for the November elections, the "Ruthless Podcast" discussed the latest financial allegations against prominent Democratic candidates in two marquee contests that the hosts said the mainstream media have neglected to cover.

"It's just a couple of stories about states that you might not live or vote in, but you need to understand the kind of people Democrats are putting forward to represent their party," podcast co-host John Ashbrook said of two stories.

Ashbrook's comments followed reporting from the Washington Free Beacon that Troy Jackson, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine, co-sponsored a 2024 bill that called for $13.4 million in additional funding for Maine Maritime Academy while his son, Chace Jackson, served as the school's legislative designee. Jackson had also backed a 2023 state budget that provided the academy with an additional $2 million per year.

"[These stories] are indicative of this larger thing that we've talked about, which is Democrats get into government so they can steer funds to their preferred parties," podcast co-host Josh Holmes said. "Sometimes they benefit directly, as they do here, and sometimes they have preferential constituencies that they then pay to vote for them to stay in office, like Minnesota."

Jackson will face Republican Sen. Susan Collins in a high-profile U.S. Senate race. The former president of the Maine Senate replaced Graham Platner as the party's nominee in July after Platner withdrew following a sexual assault allegation, which he denied.

Across the country, the Free Beacon previously reported that while state assemblymember, Rep. Adam Gray, D-Calif., helped advance gas tax legislation that directed funds to his cousin’s newly established construction company.

"This vote made the state of California have the highest gas tax in the nation," Ashbrook said of the importance of this particular legislative measure. "So everybody's paying for it. That is unbelievable."

Gray, who is running for re-election in a battleground seat in the Golden State, is also a part-owner of Marvulli Inc., according to his financial disclosures.

"I mean, there were multiple [instances] early in the 2000s [that ended] historic congressional careers and [ushered] in the ban on congressional earmarks for precisely this issue."

Fellow co-host Comfortably Smug also highlighted how these actions were far worse than any congressional earmark of the previous era.

"That's the thing is, for so long, the whole thing was like, oh, you're trying to pass this kind of like pork barrel legislation to benefit like a donor in your district who then you're hoping cuts you a $5,000 check," Smug said. "This guy's like, no, no. Just give me $500,000."

Cult-favorite drink finally returns to store shelves after monthslong shortage

Topo Chico is bubbling back onto store shelves after a monthslong absence that left fans of the cult-favorite mineral water scrambling for alternatives.

Texas grocery giant H-E-B confirmed to Fox News Digital that supplies of the Coca-Cola-owned beverage have begun returning, although availability remains limited.

"It's slowly hitting store shelves in limited quantities," an H-E-B representative told Fox News Digital.

Coca-Cola did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the apparent return.

"Oh my GAWD! Topo Chico is back! Let's rejoice! So happy!" one Reddit user wrote in a Sept. 20 post after reporting a sighting in Texas.

Other shoppers have posted photos of newly stocked cases at retailers around Texas.

"We are so back," another user declared in a Sept. 23 post. Asked whether the newly purchased Topo Chico tasted like the original, the user replied, "The burn I have missed for months 🤤 Refreshing."

The sightings may also be beginning to spread beyond Texas. A Reddit user on Sept. 29 reported finding Topo Chico back in stock at a Sam's Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"The Topo Chico is spreading," one commenter responded, while others asked when the mineral water would return to California.

The gradual reappearance follows a monthslong shortage that began earlier this year.

Fox News Digital reported in April that Topo Chico had been largely unavailable nationwide since February as Coca-Cola made upgrades to facilities at the water source and production sites in Mexico.

At the time, Coca-Cola told Fox News Digital that the work was tied to the company's safety and quality priorities and said, "We aim to have Topo Chico Mineral Water back later this year."

The shortage came as Americans' appetite for premium mineral water was growing, with shoppers turning to competing brands as Topo Chico disappeared from shelves.

Evangelical leader slams Palestinian official’s Bible claims as ‘contemptible’

A leading American evangelical leader has condemned remarks made by a Palestinian official claiming the Bible as a "Palestinian book."

Palestinian Ambassador to the U.K. Husam Zomlot made the comments earlier this month at the University of Bradford as the revisionist argument takes shape asserting Jesus was a Palestinian.

Zomlot’s claims that the Bible is a "Palestinian book" and that, by extension, all Christians are Palestinian has drawn sharp criticism from those who say the remarks advance a contested historical narrative about the land.

"The Palestinians aren’t the ‘people of the Book.’ When the ‘Book’ was written, the term Palestinian had not yet been coined," Pastor John Hagee, founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), told Fox News Digital.

"The Palestinian ambassador’s attempt to claim the Jewish mantle of religion and history as his own is the clearest indication that his own narrative lacks both," he said, adding: "Such attacks are contemptible, but their danger is decided by who will listen and who will challenge such bigotry."

Hagee argued that describing Jesus as Palestinian because Bethlehem is today in the Palestinian-controlled West Bank would be anachronistic, comparing it to calling television personality Dr. Phil Cherokee simply because he was born in Oklahoma.

"History also disproves what the ambassador is saying. The Romans intentionally adopted the name ‘Palestine’ as a replacement for ‘Judea’ in an effort to erase the Jews from the land, roughly a century after Christ was crucified," he added.

Hagee, whose group counts over 10 million members, added, "no reasonable person should entertain its existence in the future — given the horrors of October 7 and the ongoing effort by radical Islamists to annihilate the Jewish people."

Zomlot made the comments on Sept. 3 during a conversation with Humza Yousaf, the former first minister of Scotland, at the University of Bradford. He recalled that, during a private audience with the late Queen Elizabeth II arranged by the British Foreign Office, he told her, "Jesus is our gift to you."

"The Bible is a Palestinian book, and it has been used against us. It has been rewritten to be used against the people of the Book," Zomlot continued. "We are the original Christians, all the names that you see here, all the saints that you hear about came from my land and I am so proud about that, spreading Jesus’ message worldwide."

Critics contend the Palestinian Authority has sought to shape the international historical narrative surrounding the land through institutions such as UNESCO and the United Nations. They point to UNESCO’s designation of the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron in the name of the "State of Palestine" in 2016 and its 2023 designation of Tell es-Sultan near Jericho as a World Heritage site in "Palestine."

They also cite a 2021 U.N. General Assembly resolution that referred to the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site, only by its Muslim name, "Haram al-Sharif," as well as P.A. chief Mahmoud Abbas’ 2024 assertion that the site is the "exclusive property of Muslims." Critics also point to efforts to use Arabic names for sites with longstanding Jewish associations, such as Rachel’s Tomb in Nablus (Shechem), which is referred to as the "Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque."

Ze’ev Orenstein, director of international affairs for the City of David Foundation in Jerusalem, told Fox News Digital that the origins of Islam date to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, about 1,300 years ago, while Jesus lived about 2,000 years ago and King David about 3,000 years ago.

Orenstein noted that Jesus himself was Jewish, as were his disciples, and that he knew the Hebrew Bible, observed the Sabbath and Jewish dietary laws and celebrated Jewish festivals including Passover.

"To somehow say that Jesus was a Palestinian or that the Bible comes from 'Palestine,' no. Jesus lived in a place called Judea, and Jews come from Judea," he said.

Orenstein said Zomlot was attempting to appropriate the religious and historical identity of Jews and Christians by attributing the foundations of their faith to a country he said did not exist in that form at the time.

"It’s an act of cultural and historical appropriation; it’s identity theft, an attempt to rewrite the foundations of faith, history, heritage, values and ideals for billions of people around the world. And so, it sets a very dangerous precedent," he said.

Actor Chad Lowe and his family are mourning the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, remembering the "smart, creative" teen who loved to dance as the "light of our lives."

"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona," the family said in a statement provided to Page Six on Tuesday.

"She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance," the statement continued. "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

Fiona celebrated her 13th birthday in November 2025, when her father marked the milestone with an Instagram tribute.

Senate hopeful's 'treading water' narrative crumbles under $500K campaign payouts to family

Independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn repeatedly said his family is "treading water" financially because of rising grocery and gas prices last week, but federal campaign finance records show his campaign has paid more than $500,000 to members of his family since launching his Senate bid.

Speaking at a Capitol Hill press conference on Sept. 24, Osborn said, "My family, we're treading water here, and it feels like every day it's hard to keep your head above water" because of the economy and rising grocery and gas prices.

Later that day, during an NBC News interview, he made nearly identical remarks, again describing his family as "treading water."

Americans for Public Trust, a government ethics watchdog that has previously scrutinized Osborn's campaign spending, estimates Osborn and members of his family received nearly $480,000 from his campaign and affiliated PACs through the first quarter of 2026. The organization told Fox News Digital that figure does not include additional campaign spending disclosed in Osborn's second-quarter filing, which was filed in July. Fox News Digital's review of that filing found additional payments to family members that pushed the total above $500,000.

The largest share of those payments went to Osborn's wife, Megan Osborn, who has worked for the campaign since its launch. Campaign finance records also show payments to the candidate's daughter, Georgia, who Osborn has described publicly as a part-time dancer who still needs help paying her bills. His daughter has been paid by the campaign for work including event staffing and campaign activities, alongside other relatives and entities tied to his family.

Amid the scrutiny, Osborn's wife stepped away from consulting firms she had a stake in, which were receiving thousands of dollars from Osborn's campaign coffers, including from his 2024 war chest, even though that campaign was defunct.

"It’s rich for Osborn to be co-opting the real financial pain of Nebraskans when he and his family have been profiting from his campaign since it launched," Americans for Public Trust Executive Director Caitlin Sutherland told Fox News Digital. "He was all too comfortable using his campaign to enrich his immediate and extended family and only hastily restructured when he was caught. Nebraskans know better than to fall for this type of self-serving behavior."

Earlier this year, Osborn and his wife announced they were restructuring how she was compensated by the campaign after Americans for Public Trust filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging Osborn had steered campaign funds to relatives through a network of consulting firms and affiliated political action committees. The complaint alleged the payments violated federal campaign finance law, while the Osborn campaign rejected the allegations and argued the payments were for legitimate campaign work.

While paying family members is not illegal, it must be for bona-fide campaign services. Critics have challenged the political expertise and background of Osborn's wife and other family members.

As part of the restructuring, Osborn's wife stepped away from two consulting firms that were receiving campaign payments — including Independent Campaigns LLC, in which she held a one-third ownership stake — and instead became the campaign's full-time operations manager with a monthly salary.

Osborn told the Omaha World-Herald at the time that his wife had been "instrumental" to the campaign and said he would not let political opponents dictate who ran it.

But Sutherland argued the restructuring did not resolve the broader questions raised in the complaint.

"Dan Osborn only restructured how he pays his wife after we filed a complaint with the FEC that he was running afoul of campaign finance laws," Sutherland told Fox News Digital at the time. "However, questions still remain regarding his payments to his daughter, his brother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law, and his control over two federal PACs. Rest assured, Osborn may have changed tactics, but he isn't off the hook in his attempt to funnel campaign cash to his entire family."

Panthers' Xavier Legette grateful for teammates, including QB Bryce Young, experiencing his country lifestyle

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette loves the game of football, but back home in Mullins, South Carolina, a true country lifestyle is how he, his family and friends love to spend their time.

Whether it’s taking care of his horses, which NFL fans have come quite familiar with since the Panthers took him in the first round in 2024 out of South Carolina, fishing, or riding around town on what he calls a "trail ride," Legette’s southern roots are shown in full force whenever he’s back home.

Before the 2026 season, Legette was able to show some of his Panthers teammates what it’s like in his small South Carolina town that has less than 4,000 residents, including his quarterback, Bryce Young. Sports Illustrated was along for the ride, as Legette showcased a day in his life with the entire town alongside him for the trail ride.

It was an experience that had Legette quite grateful, not just for himself and allowing his teammates to experience the special side of his life off the field, but for the people in Mullins.

"To tell you the truth, man, that part of it was great -- for them to be able to come and do those things. But I think the best thing really in my eyes about the whole situation was them boys being able to come in my community," he told OutKick in a recent interview, while highlighting his partnership with Bojangles. "People in my community being able to see other people other than me, you know what I’m saying? Because they always see me."

Legette, with his southern accent and unique hobbies, has become a fan-favorite in the Panthers community, as well as the NFL in general. Legette is nothing but positive and genuine, two of the many characteristics he had growing up surrounded by the people he loved most in his small town. Now that he’s at this stage of professional life, all he wishes to do is give back and grow the place he still, and will always, call home.

Having Panthers teammates there to see that meant the world to him.

"I grew up there and I’m one of the first ones to be able to be in this position that I am being from Marion County." he added. "So just being able for them to see other faces, they was excited.

"Everyone know everybody, but my family, it stands out to me, you know what I’m saying? They’re the ones that helped me able to [do this]. They shaped me into being who I am today. I got my love for them. It’s out of this world and being able to just go through the growing pains with them, ups and downs, and then it’s nothing but smiles on their face. That’s what I love to see."

Oh, and one of those viral moments mentioned before includes his admittance to eating raccoon, squirrel and other animals that he and his family find on hunts. When his teammates were in town, they had to try the local cuisine.

"Oh yeah, we had the raccoon out there. A couple of them tried it," Legette said, noting that Young left early before it was ready. Fellow receiver David Moore was among those who tried the raccoon.

COUNTRY MEETS SPOOKY

Legette’s southern lifestyle is one that came to life for a one-of-a-kind content series by Pepsi and Bojangles, and it stars one of his prized horses, affectionately known as Dime Piece, as Halloween and football come together.

Legette had a smile ear-to-ear as he discussed the Bojangles Bite Box which, starting Oct. 1, will come with limited-edition haunted house packaging.

"I think it’s a great collab. It’s one of the biggest ones I’ve ever did, and man, I hope we can come up with something else for the future.

"They understand my love for the horses and they wanted to bring that to life with this commercial. It’s great."

Heavy drinking surges among Americans in one age group as other generations cut back

New research shows that U.S. alcohol use has declined for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but drinking remains above pre-pandemic levels — with one particular group showing a sharp increase in heavy intake.

A study led by the University of Southern California/Keck Medicine found that among adults ages 50 to 64, alcohol use increased by nearly 4% from 2018 to 2024, while heavy drinking increased by more than 36%.

Across all age groups, alcohol use declined by nearly 2%, and heavy drinking declined by more than 8% from 2022 to 2024. However, overall alcohol use remained above pre-pandemic levels.

Among Gen Z adults, alcohol use declined by more than 5%. Millennials drank approximately 17% less from 2022 to 2024.

The findings, which were published on Sept. 21 in Annals of Internal Medicine, were based on self-reported data from the National Health Interview Survey, which included 114,352 U.S. adults from 2018 to 2024.

Heavy drinking was defined as five or more drinks per day or 15 or more drinks per week for men within the preceding 12 months and at least four daily drinks or eight weekly drinks for women.

Men were found to have a larger alcohol decline than women (2.4% vs. 1.1%), but women had a larger reduction in heavy drinking (9%) compared to men (7.7%).

"Women’s heavy drinking rose more than men's during the pandemic and is still about 13% above where it was in 2018," lead study author Brian P. Lee, M.D., associate professor of medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, told Fox News Digital. "Women develop liver damage at lower levels of drinking than men, so that number carries more weight than it looks."

The study was funded in part by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and the National Institutes of Health.

Study limitations

The chief limitation of the study is that people reported their own levels of drinking, which tend to run low, according to Lee.

"It also can't tell us why drinking changed, only that it did," he told Fox News Digital. "And we have two years of decline after four years of increases, so I'd describe this as a promising turn rather than an established trend."

The researchers also did not investigate the reasons younger adults reduced alcohol consumption.

Potential reasons older adults are drinking more

Dr. Chris Tuell, clinical director of addiction services at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, said many factors may contribute to the increased rate of drinking among older adults.

"As we approach our 50s and 60s, we start reflecting on our lives, and changes start to happen," Tuell, who was not involved in the study, told Fox News Digital.

The loneliness epidemic in the U.S., and the fact that people are more "polarized" and "disconnected," may also come into play, according to Tuell.

Grief and loss may also lead to increased drinking as people seek a way to escape or cope with the loss of friends and family members.

"One out of four people will experience some mental health issue … depression, anxiety, loss, grief — these are real things that are impacting people," Tuell said. "And it's at a time where a person might feel very vulnerable."

As people age, there may also be increased issues related to chronic pain and medical issues, resulting in reduced function.

"Now I have these aches and pains, or maybe I'm diagnosed with something more serious," Tuell said as an example. "So that becomes a problem that I now have to deal with."

Many aging adults are also approaching retirement age, which can result in a loss of structure and change the identity they’ve had for decades, the expert noted.

"I wake up and something I've done every day for many, many years is no longer happening. So I'm more bored. What do I do with my time? This is unfortunately a perfect storm for things like substance use."

Risks of alcohol for older adults

As older adults experience body changes, they don't metabolize alcohol the same way they once did, Tuell noted.

"What I used to drink maybe five years ago … that same amount now can affect me differently, because I'm not metabolizing it like I used to," he said.

Women are especially impacted by alcohol, Tuell said, likely because they may have less body fat and don't have as much water in their bodies.

Lee noted that while alcohol doesn't harm everyone equally, the risk starts at low levels and goes up with every additional drink.

"There isn't a level the evidence shows to be safe."

Red flags

To determine whether someone has a problem with alcohol, Tuell recommends using the "three Cs."

Control: "Is there a loss of control? I can't manage this behavior any longer."
Compulsive: "I can’t stop doing it. I continue to do it despite the negative consequences. Knowing that I could lose my job, I could lose my marriage, I could lose lots of things in my life, I do it anyway."
Can’t: "I can't stop thinking about it — it might be the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning or the last thing I think about when I go to bed."

Alcohol can still be problematic even if someone doesn’t have an addiction, Tuell noted.

For example, they might drink more than they should, to the point where they get a hangover or put themselves at risk.

"Maybe it's impacting my interactions with other people, interpersonal relationships, hobbies, interests," he said. "Maybe it's affecting my sleep."

In a normal sleep pattern, people go through a cycle four to five times per night, but when they drink, it's more like two to three times, Tuell said. "So, we're not getting good rest during that period."

It’s never too late to seek help with alcohol dependency, he pointed out.

"I've treated people in their 80s who still have a lot of life left," Tuell said, pointing out that Americans are living longer. "So we're aging, we're getting older, and there are a lot of life changes happening … physically, emotionally, psychologically."

For those who are over 50 and drinking more than they did before 2020, Lee recommends asking a doctor about liver health, "even if nothing feels wrong."

"There are clear increases in cancer and liver risk with alcohol, even at low levels," he warned. "Even advanced liver disease might have no symptoms, and the earlier alcohol-related liver damage is caught, the more of it can be undone."

Cruise invited the royal couple after learning that William, who previously served as a pilot with the Royal Air Force, was a huge fan of the original film. The Prince and Princess of Wales later attended the London premiere of "Top Gun: Maverick" at the invitation of Cruise.

At the time, Cruise told PA News Agency that he and William had "a lot in common," explaining, "We both love England, and we're both aviators. We both love flying."

The actor later appeared in King Charles III's 2023 coronation concert and previously took part in Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

"Cruise, perhaps more than most Hollywood stars, has had a fairly up close and personal relationship with the royal family," Andersen noted.

Having witnessed both Diana's extraordinary popularity and Middleton's rise within the royal family, Andersen explained he believes Cruise's admiration is well-founded.

A new poll shows 43% now have a positive view of socialism. An astonishing 65% of Democrats have a positive view. Socialism is now the rage on the left.

Like clothing styles, if you wait long enough, socialism tends to come back into style with generations with no memory of past failures. However, it is an astonishing trend in one of the most prosperous nations on Earth that outlasted a history cluttered with the broken failures of socialist and communist systems.

A new slick packaging of socialism has emerged with leaders such as Zohran Mamdani offering to teach people of the "warmth of collectivism." The Democratic Socialists of America are enticing voters with narratives like "Imagine the end of capitalism." Those words promise voters that there is a brave new world without landlords, debt, mandatory work hours and "food, education, energy, medicine and transportation… are common goods and utilities."

As with the original Jacobins, those demanding these changes are not the working class but professors, pundits and young college-educated voters.

Pushing this analogy to a more menacing level, another poll shows that roughly 60% of Democrats responded positively to the idea of a military coup to remove President Donald Trump.

Taiwan analysts say Trump-Xi summit produced no policy shift but real test lies ahead

TAIPEI — Taiwanese officials were watching carefully for signs of policy changes toward the island as President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit last week in Washington, D.C.

Xi’s visit was of high interest in Taiwan, a regular target of China’s threats. On Saturday, a panel that included scholars, a retired U.S. military officer and Taiwan’s deputy foreign minister at the Institute for National Policy Research (INPR) in Taipei assessed what the third Trump–Xi meeting of Trump’s current term means for Taiwan. Most expect no change in U.S. policy toward Taiwan.

"Both of them got what they want and what they need," Kuo Yu-jen, INPR’s vice president and a professor at National Sun Yat-sen University’s Institute of China and Asia-Pacific Studies, told Fox News Digital. Trump can point to economic results from negotiating with Xi, while Xi can return to Beijing with the prestige of a high-profile U.S. reception, Kuo said. He called claims by some that Trump had "sold out" Taiwan excessive speculation.

XI PRAISES US STATE VISIT 'PERFECTION' AS TRUMP CALLS MEETINGS 'VERY PRODUCTIVE'

As expected, Xi reportedly pressed Trump to say the United States opposes Taiwan independence. Washington’s preferred description is that it does not support Taiwan independence, a distinction that, much to the relief of Taiwan government officials, Trump maintained.

Speaking exclusively to Fox News Digital after the forum, Taiwan’s Deputy Foreign Minister François Wu said Beijing wants more than a change in diplomatic language. It wants the world to view Taiwan as a domestic Chinese issue. If that argument succeeds, Wu said, Beijing could claim other countries have no right to respond to its actions against the island.

"The so-called independence of Taiwan is just an issue made specifically by the Chinese government," Wu said. Taiwan already has a president and government elected by its people, territory and its own currency, he said. "We just don’t need to declare any independence. We are a sovereign country."

Wu had expressed concerns prior to Trump’s visit to China in May, when he told Bloomberg that "What we are most afraid of is to put Taiwan on the menu of the talk between Xi Jinping and President Trump."

China’s Foreign Ministry claims Xi urged Trump to maintain the "correct position" to oppose Taiwan independence. Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry rushed out an objection on a public holiday in Taiwan, and repeated Taiwan’s own clear position on its sovereignty.

The White House summary of Xi’s visit announced no change in Taiwan policy and instead emphasized more favorable tariff treatment for $30 billion in goods in each direction, an AI incident communication channel and U.S. concerns about rare earth and critical-mineral supplies.

The visit nonetheless raised questions in Taiwan about what Xi might have obtained from Trump in private. Analysts cautioned that if there was a deal over Taiwan, it would only become clear in the coming months. Taiwan awaits Trump’s approval for more arms sales, visits to Taiwan by senior U.S. officials and a potential transit stop in the U.S. for Taiwan’s president. China objects to all of these, so how Trump handles them must balance relations with China, maintaining support for Taiwan and Trump’s priorities.

Dong Li-wen, executive director of the government-funded Foundation on Asia-Pacific Peace Studies, described the leaders’ shared approach as delaying difficult decisions while waiting for circumstances to change. For Xi, Dong argued, that is a longer-term strategy. For Trump, it is a temporary tactic. The two sides can keep talking and set aside issues they cannot settle, but their underlying competition remains.

The argument over Taiwan’s status is almost 80 years old. China claims the island as its territory, but the People’s Republic of China has not governed it for even a single day. The Republic of China government relocated to Taiwan after the Chinese Nationalists lost the civil war to Mao Zedong’s Communists in 1949.

The governing Democratic Progressive Party’s 1999 Resolution on Taiwan’s Future described Taiwan as an independent sovereign state called the Republic of China under its existing constitution. All of Taiwan’s democratically elected presidents have said something similar in interviews with international media, including Lee Teng-hui to The Washington Post in 1997, Chen Shui-bian to the BBC in 2010, Ma Ying-jeou to CNN in 2010, and Tsai Ing-wen to the BBC in 2020. Current President William Lai Ching-te said the same thing to Time in 2024, adding an oft-repeated insistence that the Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China are not subordinate to each other.

That status quo — which amounts to Taiwan being a de facto independent state — is what Taiwan intends to defend, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Wu. Xi left Washington having restated China’s demands. Analysts at the gathering said whether Xi managed to nudge U.S. policy in any way will soon be tested in decisions over arms sales and other issues, with some predicting weapons packages could be scaled down or "unbundled."

Speaking separately to Fox News Digital, Ross Darrell Feingold, a political analyst and assistant professor at Tamkang University’s Department of Diplomacy and International Relations, noted that with a local election in Taiwan this November, followed by presidential and legislative elections in January 2028, Taiwan’s domestic politics could also be a factor in U.S. decisions. "Although the U.S. is likely to back President Lai’s re-election; agreeing to arms sales, visits by Trump administration officials or Lai’s desired transit stop in the U.S. will need to be balanced against coming across as too blatantly interfering in Taiwan’s election, as well as the inevitable anger from China."
