Rubio accuses Iran of flying IRGC personnel into Yemen as Houthi threat escalates

Houthis have declared a blockade targeting Saudi-linked vessels in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, threatening global trade

Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran on Wednesday of flying members of its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps into Yemen, saying Tehran’s actions helped ignite a renewed confrontation between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

"They decided to send direct flights from Tehran into Yemen, carrying IRGC elements and others into the country," Rubio told reporters. "And the Saudis responded to it."

Rubio did not identify the flights, specify how many IRGC personnel were allegedly transported or provide evidence supporting the allegation.

RUBIO SAYS US REMAINS OPEN TO IRAN TALKS BUT WARNS THERE 'WILL BE CONSEQUENCES'

He made the remarks while attending an annual gathering of Association of Southeast Asian Nations foreign ministers in Manila, Philippines, where the U.S.-Iran conflict and threats to international shipping were among the central security concerns.

The Houthis have declared a blockade targeting Saudi-linked vessels in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, threatening to widen the conflict and disrupt another critical global trade route.

The rebels say they are targeting ships connected to Saudi Arabia or traveling to and from the kingdom’s Red Sea ports in retaliation for Saudi restrictions on Yemen and a recent attack on the airport in the Houthi-controlled capital of Sanaa.

IRAN-BACKED TERROR PROXY HOUTHIS THREATEN FRESH ATTACKS AFTER YEMEN AIRPORT STRIKE

The Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for the airport attack, which they said was intended to stop a flight carrying Houthi leaders home from Iran. Rubio disputed that account and alleged that Tehran was using direct flights to transport IRGC personnel and others into Yemen.

The Houthis later launched missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport, marking one of the most serious confrontations between the two sides in years.

Rubio said U.S. officials had spoken repeatedly with Saudi officials during the past week about the Houthi threat.

IRAN CALLS ON HOUTHIS TO PREPARE TO CUT OFF RED SEA GATEWAY — CAN THE TERROR GROUP DO IT?

"Anything that restricts shipping through the Red Sea would be problematic for the same reasons that the Strait of Hormuz is problematic," Rubio said. "So we’re watching that closely."

Saudi Arabia’s military has vowed to keep Bab el-Mandeb open and respond firmly to Houthi threats against commercial vessels using the waterway.

The narrow strait connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and serves as a major shipping corridor linking Europe and Asia through the Suez Canal. Around 12% of global trade and roughly one-quarter of worldwide container traffic normally pass through the route.

Its importance has grown as the U.S.-Iran conflict has sharply curtailed shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi Arabia has increasingly relied on Red Sea export routes to transport oil to international markets.

The Houthi-run SABA news agency claimed six vessels had altered course after receiving warnings from the group, a claim that could not be independently verified.

The Houthis say the blockade is limited to Saudi-linked shipping. During their earlier campaign connected to the war in Gaza, however, the rebels attacked more than 100 vessels, including ships with little or no apparent connection to Israel.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the latest Houthi threat had not materialized.

"So far, it hasn’t happened," Trump told reporters. "I think that if there is something like that, we’ll just have to take care of business."

Rubio’s accusation came as the U.S. military carried out an 11th consecutive night of strikes against targets in Iran. U.S. Central Command said the latest targets included aircraft hangars and drone storage sites.

Speaking to Southeast Asian leaders, Rubio also warned that allowing Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz, collect tolls and attack ships that refused to comply would set a dangerous precedent for international waterways around the world.

"If we create a precedent in the Middle East where a nation state can decide that they are going to control an international waterway, charge a toll and if you don’t pay them blow up your ships, we have created a very dangerous precedent which will repeat itself in other parts of the world, including in this region," Rubio said.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Rubio said Iran’s support for the Houthis reflects a broader pattern of backing armed groups across the Middle East.

"The Houthis, Hezbollah, the militias in Iraq, Hamas — this is what Iran spends its money on," Rubio said. "It’s not on its people. It’s on supporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing actors in the region."

Wildlife photographer stays ice-cold as massive brown bear walks right up to his camera

Matt Addington said he never felt fear despite sitting at the feet of North America's 'ultimate apex predator'

Being a wildlife photographer isn’t for the faint of heart.

It takes patience, preparation and enough knowledge of animal behavior to understand when to stay put, when to move and when to get the heck out of there.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE FROM OUTKICK

And sometimes, it requires a little ice in your veins.

Wildlife photographer Matt Addington recently went viral after sharing a video from Alaska that shows a massive brown bear sow casually grazing her way to within inches of his camera equipment.

In the 16-second clip, Addington sits low in the grass as the bear slowly approaches. She stops beside his enormous camera lens, sniffs around and continues eating as if the photographer sitting directly in front of her is barely worth acknowledging.

For the millions of people who watched online, the scene was equal parts incredible and terrifying.

For Addington, though, it was something else entirely.

"Contrary to what the millions and millions of people who have chimed in on this think, it honestly was one of the most surreal and peaceful encounters that I’ve ever had," Addington told OutKick Outdoors.

Despite sitting at the feet of what he called "the ultimate apex predator on the North American continent," he said there was never a moment when he felt afraid.

"There was never a moment of fear or anxiety," Addington said. "This was the complete opposite. It was, again, one of the more peaceful, serene, surreal moments that I’ve ever had."

That doesn’t mean Addington believes all bear encounters should be treated so casually.

A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO NOT GETTING MAULED BY A BEAR WHILE HIKING OR CAMPING THIS SUMMER

He explained that this particular encounter took place in Katmai, where the bears had abundant food and the sow was contently grazing on sedge grass. Addington was also accompanied by experienced bear-viewing guides Scott and Jackie Stone, and the group took deliberate precautions to avoid startling or interfering with the animals.

The bears initially stood roughly 100 to 150 yards away before slowly grazing closer. The group positioned itself upwind so the bears could smell them, spoke normally to announce their presence and allowed the animals to move freely.

"We didn’t go marching or barging in and say, ‘We’re going to get as close as we can to this bear,’" Addington said. "Everything that we do as photographers — and Scott and Jackie would say this 1000 times over — is to stay back enough that you let bears be bears."

In this case, the sow simply decided to keep eating until she was nearly on top of him.

"She happened to want to just keep curiously eating right up to my feet," he said. "Which was, again, insane."

Watch Matt Addington's full interview with OutKick Outdoors here:

The internet, of course, had plenty of theories about what it was watching.

Addington said he received thousands of comments in a matter of days accusing him of using AI to fabricate the footage. Given how quickly AI-generated animal videos have flooded social media, he understands the skepticism — even if it is misplaced here.

"I’ve got 45 minutes of 6K footage on two different cameras that will prove otherwise," Addington said. "That would be pretty hefty AI."

And he has no plans to trade the real wilderness for a computer screen anytime soon.

"I feel fortunate that I do get to go out with a real camera and have these real experiences," he said. "I’ll continue to seek those over building something on the computer any time."

An avid outdoorsman based in Minnesota, Addington photographs wildlife across the world, including bears, lions, elephants, elk and white-tailed deer. His work also stretches into hunting, fishing, agriculture, outdoor lifestyle campaigns and portrait photography.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Still, even for someone who has stood near lions, been charged by rhinos and photographed bull moose from below, having a giant brown bear eat grass off the foot of his boot is a tough day at the office to beat.

Love all things wildlife and outdoors?
Birth tourism could soon carry a severe new consequence few would risk: 'Existential crisis'

Rep. Randy Fine says anyone who comes to the U.S. solely to 'create an anchor baby' should go to prison

FIRST ON FOX: A new House GOP bill would create new barriers to birth tourism in the United States after the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship in a blow to President Donald Trump's agenda.

Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., is introducing legislation proposing criminal penalties for people residing outside the U.S. who travel to the country solely for the birth of their children. It would also make it a crime to misrepresent that purpose when entering the country.

Fine told Fox News Digital that the Supreme Court's ruling spurred his new bill.

BIRTH TOURISM CRACKDOWN EXPANDS AS HOUSE CHAIRMAN RAISES CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY CASE

"What we need to do to work around this situation is make it extremely unpleasant for people to come to the United States to create an anchor baby," Fine said. "And to anyone who disrespects our nation that much that would come here in order to create a paperwork American, should go to prison and should never be able to come to America ever again."

The bill would not eliminate birthright citizenship. Instead, it would impose prison terms of 10 to 25 years on adults who are neither U.S. citizens nor lawful permanent residents and who travel to or facilitate travel to the United States for the purpose of giving birth.

A federal judge would also be required to issue an order of deportation against those parents which, in theory, would make it significantly harder for that child to stay within the country.

SEN ERIC SCHMITT SEEKS TO END BIRTH TOURISM, REVOKE CITIZENSHIP FOR BABIES OF FOREIGN DIPLOMATS

"You may have a baby and that baby may be able to stay in America, but you won't. And I think what we need to do is make it as unappealing as possible to have a baby illegally in the United States in order to reduce the desire to do it," Fine said.

Fine said birthright citizenship rights created an "existential crisis" for the United States.

"We won't have a country if anyone who wants can show up here anytime and have a baby, which by the way, becomes effectively a ward of the state — because who do you think pays for everything associated with that illegal immigrant baby? You're saddling the American taxpayer with hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions of dollars of cost," he said.

VANCE CALLS SCOTUS BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP RULING A 'MAJOR MISTAKE,' WARNS OF MORE BIRTH TOURISM

Birthright citizenship is guaranteed under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a right the Supreme Court reaffirmed late last month. Supporters of the decision say birthright citizenship is a core tenet to the American ideal of equality and promoting assimilation into U.S. society.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

But opponents have said that the right to be born an American inside the country's borders has been misused and abused both by people entering the U.S. illegally and wealthy foreigners seeking a foothold within the U.S.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll taken in June showed 55% of respondents were opposed to ending birthright citizenship, while 41% were in support.

Cade Cavalli's pitch mix and Nationals' strong road record make them a smart MLB betting play

The Nationals sit at 51-51 while Colorado's Gabriel Hughes has allowed just five earned runs over 14.1 innings

This week is proving to be one of those moments where I feel like there are too many ugly losses to justify following my picks. I still put my nose to the grind and find the winners, but yesterday I took an under that was obliterated pretty quickly.

Monday, I had a loser on the Minnesota Twins almost instantly. Putting these out publicly can be difficult, but I remind myself that the next win is around the corner and I've been more profitable than in debt for betting. Let's try and get out of this mini slump with a win between the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies.

The Nationals are the talk of a lot of trade scenarios at the moment. They are 51-51, which is significantly better than most people expected them to be at this point in the season. There are only two issues — one, you can't really expect them to win the division because all of the teams (save the New York Mets) are good this season; and, two, this team was expecting to be bad this year, so the original plan was to trade pieces away and build for the future.

The team has been really good on the road this season, which is surprising. They are 31-20 away from home. Looking to improve on that mark is Cade Cavalli. For the season, Cavalli has a 6-4 record with a 3.78 ERA, and a 1.31 WHIP. His ERA is a bit lower on the road, but nothing all that remarkably different. He has a decent mixture of outs from strikeouts, flyballs, and ground balls. He has posted quality starts in four of his past five outings, but also has two starts of less than three innings in two of his past six. Only Troy Johnston has hit against Cavalli and he is 0-for-3.

The Rockies are about as bad as expected. Some were predicting them to be the worst team in baseball, and that seems a bit far. The Mets and Angels might compete for that this season. Still, the Rockies have very little to be excited about this year. They are 41-62 for the season, but are at least successful at home with a 24-28 record. They have some interesting trade pieces themselves as Hunter Goodman and Jack McCarthy might be of interest to multiple playoff pushes. This Rockies team needs to build their farm system, so it does make sense to trade some players away.

The bigger issue is that they will always need pitching. The team has never really had a reliable arm in the rotation. Sure, they signed Mike Hampton years ago, but that didn't go great. It does seem like even when they try to make a splash in free agency for hitters, it doesn't work out (read: Kris Bryant). It is far too early to say Gabriel Hughes will be reliable, but today's starter does look good in his first few games for the Rockies. He has allowed just five earned runs over 14.1 innings (two starts and one relief appearance).

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

I was able to grab a win on the Reds when they faced Hughes the other day and I think we can get another one here. The Rockies aren't a great hitting team, and despite them being better at Coors Field, I don't think they are going to do well against Cavalli. Part of what I like about the Nationals is how Cavalli mixes pitches and can get outs in many different ways. Pitching at Coors is always an issue, but I'll be taking the Nationals to win this one.

For more sports betting information and plays, follow David on X/Twitter: @futureprez2024

Denver Broncos 2025 betting outlook: Why the over on 9.5 wins looks like the right play

Bo Nix, Sean Payton and an elite defense should carry Denver past a tougher schedule this season.

We are at team number three in this journey of trying to cover every team from the NFL before this season kicks off. This is a good exercise for anyone who is into any sport. It helps with futures betting, obviously, but also gives you a good understanding of what each team did in the offseason, which hopefully helps you get out of the gate on the correct foot. The Denver Broncos are a team looking to get out to a great start after a tough end to their season.

Last Year

Denver, in 2024, surprised some people with a solid season. The Broncos made the playoffs but lost to Buffalo. Last year, there was no surprise; they were the dominant team in the division (which had been owned by Kansas City for years). They had one of the best defenses in football, and their offense did just enough to get the wins. After starting the season 1-2, they ran off 11 straight wins. In the postseason, they beat the Bills in a wild game, winning 33-30. Bo Nix, their quarterback, was injured in the game and ultimately didn’t play in the next game. That was against New England, who won a boring 10-7 game. To Jarrett Stidham’s credit, he did what he could, but it wasn’t enough as both defenses fought tough, but New England did just a bit more.

BRONCOS STAR QUARTERBACK BO NIX UNDERWENT SECOND PROCEDURE ON SURGICALLY REPAIRED ANKLE: REPORT

Offseason additions and subtractions

Sometimes when you’re that close, you have to just knock the door down and go for it. Denver traded away three picks (they did get one back) to get Jaylen Waddle onto the roster. He is a good complementary wide receiver for the Broncos, but I think that was a lot to pay for a guy that I think is only slightly above average. They didn’t really lose anyone on defense, which might be the best offseason move they could make. One player they lost was defensive tackle John Franklin-Meyers, who is good, but I think replaceable enough.

RED MURDOCK BECOMES LATEST 'MR IRRELEVANT' AFTER BRONCOS TAP HIM LAST IN DRAFT

Roster

When I look at the depth chart for the Broncos, I am not overwhelmingly impressed with their offense. I know Bo Nix played very well last year, but I also don’t know if this is a guy who will be great every season. I think the Broncos were very lucky last season, and some of that will regress. The strength of the team is defense. They should once again be an elite unit in the league. Sean Payton is still a good coach and creative on offense, so maybe I’m dogging the offense when I shouldn’t.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

Betting Outlook

I think the books have dropped the Broncos back a bit too much. At 9.5 games, they should be able to achieve this total. You’re still likely to get two wins against the Raiders; I would think they can split or beat Kansas City both times. It will be a tougher schedule, no doubt, but I think 10 wins seems like a very achievable number. This defense will still compete, but probably take a step back with a very tough schedule. Give me the over 9.5 wins.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

For more sports betting information and plays, follow David on X/Twitter: @futureprez2024

Rep Gill challenges 'genuinely insane and objectively offensive' Democratic socialists after viral hearing

Gill argued mainstream Democrats have let socialists and anti-capitalism ideas become their party's base

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, urged Republicans to force far-left Democrats to defend their own ideas during a Tuesday appearance on "Hannity," arguing that many of their positions are impossible to justify when subjected to scrutiny.

"We have gone so long letting the left say the most crazy, outlandish things," Gill said.

"I think it's time that we call the left out on this stuff and put them on the spot and make them answer for this, make them explain to the American people what they really mean whenever they say that being polite is somehow evidence of White supremacy, and that's what we tried to do there," he added.

WATCH: SMITHSONIAN DIRECTOR PRESSED ON WOKE EXHIBITS: ‘IS MICKEY MOUSE RACIST?’

Gill was referring to his recent viral exchange with the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig, whom he questioned over museum materials that associated traits such as politeness with "White supremacy culture."

Gill said the exchange illustrated why Republicans should force progressives to publicly defend their beliefs, suggesting that many of their ideas lose support once they're fully explained to voters.

"These things are genuinely insane and objectively offensive, I think, to a lot of Americans," he said.

SOCIALISM’S RISE INSIDE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NOW THREATENS THE AMERICAN DREAM

CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE

Gill broadened his criticism beyond self-described Democratic socialists and progressives, arguing that mainstream Democrats have allowed far-left ideas to become normalized by refusing to challenge them.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"I think your average rank-and-file Democrat in the House right now recognizes that the Democratic socialists are no longer the fringe in their party. That is the mainstream. That's where their base is, and they're not going to speak out against that, because they don't want the backlash from their base," he said.

Gill added that mainstream Democrats are now facing the consequences of years spent elevating increasingly progressive ideas such as anti-capitalism and criticism of police, arguing many leftist lawmakers are now "reaping what they've been sowing for so long."

Trump warns Houthis after shipping blockade threat: 'We take care of things'

His comments came after the Houthis announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia Monday

President Donald Trump said Tuesday the U.S. would "take care of things" if Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis follow through on threats to impose a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, as his administration reportedly backed Riyadh's renewed military campaign against the group.

His comments came after the Houthis announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia Monday, only days after Saudi forces struck Sanaa International Airport and after Iran reportedly instructed the group to prepare to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if the U.S. attacks Iranian power infrastructure.

TRUMP THREATENS TO EXPAND STRIKES ON IRAN, SAYS POWER PLANTS ARE NEXT TO GO: 'HIT THEM HARD'

"So far, it hasn't happened, might happen, but we take care of things," Trump said in the Oval Office. "If something like that happens, we take care of it."

Saudi forces targeted Sanaa International Airport on Monday after an Iranian Mahan Air flight carrying Houthi officials back from Iran was forced to divert, according to Axios. A U.S. official told the outlet the aircraft was believed to be carrying weapons, missile components and Iranian military personnel intended for the Houthis.

Trump's warning comes as the administration has expanded military operations against Iran while the Houthis threaten to disrupt shipping in the Red Sea. The developments have fueled concerns that Washington could become increasingly involved in efforts to secure one of the world's most important maritime trade corridors while simultaneously confronting Tehran in the Persian Gulf.

The prospect of simultaneous disruption at the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb has become one of the biggest concerns for global shipping markets: together, the routes normally carry roughly one-third of global seaborne oil trade and serve as critical arteries for energy shipments between the Middle East, Europe and Asia, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data.

The Houthis already have shown they can disrupt one of the world's busiest shipping corridors. Since late 2023, the group has carried out more than 190 attacks on commercial shipping, forcing major carriers to abandon the Red Sea route in favor of the far longer trip around Africa.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sought Trump's approval before launching the latest strikes against the Houthis — and that approval was granted, according to the Axios report.

The White House could not be reached for comment. The Pentagon and U.S. Central Command declined to comment.

For years, the Houthis have evolved into one of Iran's most effective regional partners, allowing Iran to pressure global commerce while avoiding a direct military confrontation with the United States or its allies. The group has repeatedly launched missiles and drones at commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea, disrupting international shipping and forcing vessels to reroute around southern Africa.

IRAN-BACKED TERROR PROXY HOUTHIS THREATEN FRESH ATTACKS AFTER YEMEN AIRPORT STRIKE

Although direct fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis largely subsided following a U.N.-brokered truce in 2022, the group continued expanding its missile, drone and maritime capabilities with Iranian support. This week's exchange of Saudi airstrikes and Houthi missile attacks marked the most significant cross-border escalation between the two sides in roughly four years.

Bridget Toomey, a research analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said the latest escalation was driven by Saudi concerns that Iran and the Houthis were attempting to establish a dangerous new status quo by opening a direct air link between Tehran and Houthi-controlled Sanaa.

She said such flights would create an easier route for Iran to move weapons, drones and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps advisers into Yemen, posing a threat not only to Saudi Arabia but also to broader U.S. and international security interests.

TRUMP WON’T RULE OUT KHARG ISLAND TAKEOVER: WHAT A US ASSAULT COULD LOOK LIKE

"A direct air connection between Tehran and Sanaa would be a serious threat, not just to the international community, but also to Saudi Arabia," Toomey told Fox News Digital.

Rather than signaling a return to the yearslong Saudi-led intervention in Yemen, Toomey described Riyadh's response as "a measured escalation" intended to demonstrate it would not allow such an air bridge to become normalized.

That objective appeared to shape one of Saudi Arabia's most consequential strikes this week.

The Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden, is one of the world's busiest maritime choke points. Nearly 15% of global seaborne trade passes through the corridor each year, making it a critical route for commercial shipping and energy supplies moving between Asia and Europe.

The latest threat comes as commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has also faced disruption amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. While the two waterways are separated by hundreds of miles, together they form the principal maritime corridor linking the Persian Gulf with Europe. Serious disruption to both would place additional pressure on global energy exports, increase shipping costs and deepen supply chain disruptions.

Toomey said the Houthis occupy a unique position within Iran's regional network because of where they are located.

"They're crucial to Iran's broader ability to expand the conflict," she said. "Iraqi militias or Hezbollah don't sit on a maritime choke point."

Still, she cautioned against viewing the Houthis simply as an extension of Tehran, noting that Iran's command and control over the group has historically been less direct than its relationships with some of its other proxy organizations.

Gregg Roman, executive director of the Middle East Forum, said Trump's backing of the Saudi operation and his latest warning to the Houthis point to an administration willing to support regional allies while confronting Iranian-backed groups that threaten maritime commerce.

"The Iranians are trying to project power. The president is supportive of any effort to limit that projection," Roman told Fox News Digital.

Roman said the airport strike reinforced Saudi Arabia's long-running effort to prevent Iran from establishing a direct supply corridor into Houthi-controlled Yemen.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"We're certainly not going to allow you to have any shipments to reinforce the Houthis," he said.

If the campaign continues with Washington's backing, it would place one of Iran's most strategically valuable regional partners under renewed military pressure while increasing the cost of Tehran's broader effort to project power across the Middle East.

FIRST ON FOX: House Republicans are staking out their position as congressional permitting talks heat up with a sweeping legislative package aimed at lowering energy costs, strengthening grid reliability and speeding up the construction of new energy projects.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie, R-Ky., will introduce the 96-page "Permitting Our Way to an Energy Resurgence (POWER) Act" on Wednesday, describing it as a "discussion draft" as the panel continues to hear feedback from lawmakers and industry stakeholders.

The measure combines nearly 20 Republican proposals that would streamline approvals for pipelines, transmission lines, power plants and manufacturing projects while addressing rapidly growing electricity demand tied to artificial intelligence data centers.

Beyond permitting, the mammoth legislation seeks to shield ratepayers from price hikes by requiring data centers to bear the costs of grid upgrades.

TRUMP’S REINDUSTRIALIZATION AGENDA FACES ITS BIGGEST HURDLE — AMERICANS

The legislation would also give dispatchable power plants priority over intermittent sources such as wind and solar in interconnection queues, expand federal regulators' authority to keep power plants online and overhaul portions of the Clean Air Act.

"To win the race to AI dominance, onshore jobs, and deliver reliable and affordable power for families, America needs a permitting system that works for their communities," Guthrie said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital.

"The POWER Act cuts the red tape holding back American energy, protects hard-working families from higher electricity costs, and keeps the lights on for generations to come," he continued.

Guthrie said the energy package is the result of months of collaboration among GOP members across the committee.

"For too long, burdensome regulations that fail to meet the moment have held back American innovation and growth," he said. "I’m proud to introduce commonsense legislation that will make energy more affordable for every American."

The legislation’s introduction comes as bipartisan negotiations over permitting reform have long proven elusive, despite widespread acknowledgment of the need for reforms to the federal government’s complex permitting process.

It is unclear whether House GOP leaders will bring Guthrie's package to the floor before the midterm elections. Lawmakers have less than two dozen legislative days left on the calendar heading into November.

FOX NEWS POLL: MOVE OVER BIG BROTHER, VOTERS SEE BIG TECH AS GREATER THREAT TO US

Among the package's most consequential provisions is legislation from Rep. Troy Balderson, R-Ohio, that would check the federal government’s ability to issue far-reaching environmental regulations.

His measure requires federal agencies to submit major actions affecting electricity generation to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for review to ensure they do not negatively impact grid reliability.

Republicans say Balderson's Reliable Power Act is intended to ensure burdensome regulations from agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency do not jeopardize the nation's power supply.

Another marquee proposal, authored by Rep. Gabe Evans, R-Colo., would require large commercial electricity users, including data centers, to front the full cost of infrastructure upgrades.

The provision effectively codifies Trump’s "ratepayer protection pledge," under which large companies committed not to pass data center development costs on to everyday consumers through utility rate hikes.

"America must build the energy infrastructure necessary to win the global AI race and outcompete adversaries like Communist China — but hardworking families should never be forced to subsidize that growth through higher electric bills," Evans said Wednesday after the measure advanced out of committee with bipartisan support as a standalone bill.

The package also includes several other long-standing GOP energy priorities, including Evans' FIRE Act, which would shield states from Clean Air Act penalties tied to wildfire prevention efforts such as prescribed burns and brush clearing.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

That provision has taken on renewed urgency after Canadian wildfire smoke blanketed a swath of the United States over the weekend, with some GOP lawmakers slamming the country’s forest management.

Pancreatic cancer vaccine shows promise in first human trial, preventing disease in high-risk patients

No participant developed pancreatic cancer after 16.5 months, with immune responses up to 18 times stronger

A new vaccine for the prevention of pancreatic cancer has shown promise in an early study at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.

A phase 1 trial published in Cancer Discovery, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research, tested an experimental vaccine called mKRAS-VAX in 20 people, according to a press release.

Participants had an inherited risk of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the most common and aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, along with an abnormality detected in imaging, typically a pancreatic cyst. These individuals had not been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

NEW PANCREATIC CANCER PILL NEARLY DOUBLES SURVIVAL TIME IN BREAKTHROUGH TRIAL

Four injections were administered to participants during weeks one, three and five, along with a booster at week 13.

The vaccine targeted six common mutations of KRAS. Changes in this gene drive more than 90% of PDACs.

The vaccine triggered a mutant KRAS-targeted immune response in 18 of the 20 participants (90%). On average, immune activity increased about 18-fold, although responses varied. Half of participants responded to all six KRAS mutations included in the vaccine.

Researchers also found the vaccine generated two types of T cells — one to attack abnormal cells and another to provide longer-term immune memory.

TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ

The vaccine appeared to be safe, with participants experiencing only injection-site reactions and temporary flu-like symptoms.

While the phase 1 trial was designed primarily to evaluate safety rather than effectiveness, after about 16.5 months of follow-up, no participants had developed pancreatic cancer. At the same time, 37.5% of vaccinated participants experienced shrinkage or disappearance of the pancreatic cysts that had put them at increased risk for the disease.

Study co-author Neeha Zaidi, MD, associate professor of oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University, commented that the long-lasting response of this vaccine is "particularly noteworthy when assessing for possible interception of cancer, which requires long-lasting immunity."

"In addition, the vaccine was safe and well-tolerated, supporting its use in larger cancer interception studies," she said in the press release. "Overall, this study represents the first proof of concept for the use of vaccines for interception of pancreatic cancer in human patients."

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER

Co-author Michael G. Goggins, MD, professor of pathology, medicine and oncology and the Sol Goldman Professor of Pancreatic Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, also commented on the findings.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE HEALTH STORIES

"We observed evidence of stability or regression of the pancreatic cysts in association with the induction and durability of KRAS-specific T-cell responses," he said in the release. "However, larger studies are needed to demonstrate that this effect was in fact due to the vaccine."

The authors noted the study was limited by its small sample size and because it was not designed to determine clinical efficacy.

Fellow senior author Elizabeth Jaffee, MD, deputy director of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, commented that prevention and interception "save lives and reduce the morbidity associated with cancer development and progression."

"This is especially important for cancers whose early-onset frequency is increasing and for which we do not have effective methods for early detection," she added in the release.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Jaffee noted that this research highlights the need for more funding to support developing strategies for preventing cancer in high-risk individuals.

"More studies are needed to find the best vaccine approaches, the best targets and the ideal timing for vaccination," she said.

'Looksmaxxing' influencer Clavicular rejects incel label, faults 'both' men and women

The 20-year-old streamer defended his self-improvement movement and shared his views on modern dating culture

Viral influencer Clavicular revealed his thoughts on "incel culture" — an online subculture of mostly young, heterosexual men who identify as "involuntary celibates," and are often stigmatized as misogynistic — as well as modern dating culture amid his controversial streaming antics.

The 20-year-old internet personality, whose real name is Braden Peters, sat down with Fox News host Sean Hannity for the July 21 episode of "Hang Out with Sean Hannity." When asked about his content strategy and his views on women, Clavicular defended his "looksmaxxing" movement and accusations that it promotes "incel culture."

"People will often try to associate looksmaxxing with incel culture and being super resentful of women, when it's actually the antithesis of that, right?" he said. "Looksmaxxing is trying to escape inceldom, if anything, so for that link to try to be made makes no sense to me whatsoever."

CONTROVERSIAL STREAMER CLAVICULAR EXPLAINS VIRAL 'LOOKSMAXXING' TREND AS GEN Z ADOPTS EXTREME REGIMEN

"Looksmaxxing" is a strict health regimen that is meant to perfect one's appearance, and includes practices such as taking stimulants and bone smashing, which Clavicular describes as striking your facial bones with a hammer in an effort to stimulate bone growth.

The streamer also mused about how incel culture may be affecting the dating scene and connections between men and women.

"Every time I talk about hypergamy and why the dating market is hard, I'll talk about how maybe women on dating apps will go for the top profiles and this and that," he said. "But then I'll also say right after, you know, can you really blame them with the generation of men that's out there for them? So I think it's a problem on both sides. It's not just women, it's not just men — it is holistic."

AI IS CHANGING MODERN DATING, BUT EXPERTS WARN IT'S MAKING PEOPLE 'RELATIONALLY STUPID'

Clavicular was previously pressed about whether he identifies as an incel during a tense sit-down interview with "60 Minutes Australia" correspondent Adam Hegarty in April. He lashed out at the reporter and criticized the question.

"I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow-up after you asked me about my relationships to women?" he replied. "I mean, that’s quite literally the worst sequence of questions I think I’ve ever heard."

Hegarty repeatedly pressed Clavicular about his alleged ties to the incel community and his connection to fellow internet personality Andrew Tate, but he denied any links to the group.

DANA WHITE MOCKS CONCERNS ABOUT SO-CALLED 'TOXIC MASCULINITY,' WARNS SOCIETY HAS 'DISPLACED' YOUNG MEN

"I’m not linked to that group in any way," he countered. "Looksmaxxing is self-improvement, right? So it’s about potentially even ascending out of that category. So that would be kind of one of the goals — to dissociate from being an incel and overcome that. So that doesn’t make sense."

Clavicular ended the interview abruptly, storming off the set.

Conversely, Hannity left Clavicular with some encouraging words after their wide-ranging conversation, wishing him "all the success in the world" and advising him to be "careful."

The controversial viral star was arrested in March on a battery charge after police alleged he instigated a fight between two women and posted the video to social media. The incident sparked additional concerns about his treatment of women, especially on his livestreams.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Fox News' Nora Moriarty contributed to this story.

IDF says Palestinian soccer players it targeted served Hamas and Jihad terror groups

Israeli military names 11 athletes it claims served in terrorist military wings while being portrayed as innocent civilians

EXCLUSIVE: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has told Fox News Digital that soccer players representing the Palestinian Authority it targeted with military strikes were allegedly also working as terrorists for Hamas and Jihadist groups.

"In recent weeks, false claims have been circulated alleging that the IDF deliberately targeted innocent Palestinian soccer players throughout the war," the IDF said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"In light of these claims, the IDF is now revealing the identities of Palestinian soccer players, referees, and coaches who were presented as athletes and innocent civilians, but who in fact served as terrorists in the military wings of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, and were struck and eliminated by the IDF during the war.

IDF CLAIMS TO HAVE TAKEN OUT HAMAS COMMANDER WHO PARTICIPATED IN OCT 7

"Following an intelligence assessment, the IDF can now disclose these terrorists’ organizational affiliations and operational roles. In many cases, they were portrayed internationally only as players, with no mention of their affiliation with terrorist organizations."

The IDF identified the players as Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Barakat, Mahmoud Kamal Mohammad Ali Al-Rifi, Mohammed Mansour, Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Abu Al-Atta, Abdullah Riyadh Abdullah Khattab, Ali Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Kurd, Mohammad Emad Ata Hussouna, Tariq Ziad Hussein Al-Hour, Mohammed Ziad Hussein Al-Hour, Mahmoud Osama Al-Jazzar and Mohammad Nidal Mohammed Al-Hawajri.

According to the IDF, three of the players were allegedly involved in the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre, and others allegedly served in other terror operations and leadership roles.

"The false campaign portraying the IDF as deliberately targeting members of the soccer community, which was created as part of a broader effort promoted by various actors against the State of Israel, accompanies other false narratives advanced throughout the war," the IDF added.

"In those campaigns, Palestinian terrorists struck and eliminated by the IDF were presented as journalists, humanitarian aid workers, and other civilian professionals, while their involvement in terrorist activity was deliberately concealed in order to promote false claims that they had been targeted because of their civilian professions."

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations for a response to the IDF's claims.

IRAN ALLEGEDLY USED SOCCER CLUBS TO SPY ON CITIZENS, OPPOSITION GROUP URGES FIFA BAN REGIME BEFORE WORLD CUP

The official Palestinian Football Association (PFA) reported earlier this month that about 1,009 members of its athletic community had been killed by IDF forces since the war began in October 2023, according to Al Jazeera.

The IDF's exclusive disclosures come against the backdrop of a fierce diplomatic and public relations battle on the global sports stage.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

For over two years, the Palestinian Football Association, headed by Jibril Rajoub, has aggressively lobbied the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and FIFA to suspend Israel from international competition. Rajoub and the PFA have repeatedly cited the mounting death toll of Palestinian athletes and the destruction of sports infrastructure in Gaza as grounds for an immediate, indefinite ban.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

The campaign reached a boiling point at recent FIFA Congresses. However, following extensive legal reviews, FIFA's Disciplinary Committee ultimately rejected the PFA's demands to suspend Israel entirely.

Instead, FIFA recently opted to impose a fine on the Israel Football Association (IFA) for unrelated disciplinary breaches and ordered the Israeli team to display a "Football Unites the World – No to Discrimination" banner during upcoming matches.

However, FIFA did not let the IFA walk away completely untouched. In a compromise measure, FIFA's Disciplinary Committee opted to penalize the Israeli association for unrelated disciplinary breaches.

The IFA was fined 150,000 Swiss francs (approximately $190,700) for multiple breaches of anti-discrimination obligations. Additionally, FIFA ordered the IFA to implement a mandatory anti-discrimination prevention plan and required the Israeli team to prominently display "Football Unites the World – No to Discrimination" banners during upcoming matches.

Angelina Jolie achieves 'complete cutting of ties' between kids and Brad Pitt as twins turn 18: expert

Five of Brad Pitt's children have distanced themselves by dropping his surname, with three making the change legally

A decade after one of Hollywood's most bitter divorces began, Angelina Jolie has finally achieved a "complete cutting of ties" with ex-husband Brad Pitt.

With the former couple's youngest children now 18, the last legal thread connecting Jolie and Pitt has effectively been severed, a family law expert explained to Fox News Digital. The expert argued the Oscar winner has reached the outcome she had been seeking since filing for divorce in 2016.

"For those that followed the Pitt/Jolie divorce since 2016, it should be no surprise that Angelina Jolie is finally able to achieve what she attempted to get in the 2016 divorce — a complete cutting of ties between the children and Brad Pitt," Holly Davis, cofounder of Kirker Davis LLP, told Fox News Digital.

BRAD PITT FACES FRESH FAMILY BLOW AS DAUGHTER CLEARS MAJOR HURDLE TO DROP HIS LAST NAME

Pitt and Jolie share six children: Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox and Vivienne.

Twins Knox and Vivienne reaching adulthood on July 12 means custody issues are no longer before the court, giving Jolie the freedom to make decisions that previously required court oversight.

"Because she was unable to achieve this result in the parties' divorce, she had to wait until the youngest children were 18 to be able to do the things that the court would not allow her to do," Davis explained.

What ultimately drove the children's estrangement from their father remains impossible to know from the outside, according to Davis.

"Whether or not she influenced them in hating their father based on the legitimate problems in her romantic relationship with Brad, or whether they all suffered similar difficult moments as a family which lead to their decision to no longer see him, will be anyone's guess," the family attorney said.

Jolie and Pitt's daughter Vivienne is seeking to remove "Pitt" legally from her last name — from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie — just over a week after turning 18, according to People magazine.

The petition was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, with the reason for the name change noted as "personal," per the outlet, with the hearing scheduled for November 2.

Two years prior, Vivienne worked on the Broadway play "The Outsiders" with mom Angelina, and was credited as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill. Vivienne worked as a producer assistant on the musical while Angelina served as a producer.

BRAD PITT FIGHTS FOR SURVIVAL IN 'HEART OF THE BEAST' TRAILER AS FANS SAY HE'S 'COOLER' THAN YOUNGER ACTORS

Jolie may have effectively severed the remaining legal family ties, but experts say the public fallout might not significantly damage Pitt's Hollywood standing.

"Brandwise, it’s not that big of a hit to Brad Pitt’s name or brand," entertainment attorney Tre Lovell told Fox News Digital. "He’s such a universally well-known star, and his divorce with Angelina Jolie and strained relationship with his kids have been well publicized."

"Most of the public would chalk it up to an unfortunate problem with the relationship with his kids, but as far as his brand, it’s still strong and would survive any type of criticism in this area," the lawyer for Los Angeles-based Lovell Firm explained.

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER

Five of Pitt and Jolie's children have distanced themselves from the actor by dropping his surname, with Vivienne and three of her siblings choosing to make the change official legally.

"[Pitt's] talent remains unquestioned. But when multiple adult children publicly choose to stop using your surname, the conversation inevitably shifts from career to character," crisis communications expert Kaivan Shroff told Fox News Digital. "Whether fair or unfair, that’s the kind of narrative no amount of good publicity can easily overcome."

Zahara filed to formally remove "Pitt" from her surname in June. If granted, her legal name will change from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. Her name change follows Shiloh's name change in 2024. Maddox also reportedly filed a petition in May.

"This isn’t about a single family decision… it’s about accumulation," he added. "One child dropping a famous last name might be dismissed as an isolated event. When it happens repeatedly across multiple adult children, it stops looking like celebrity gossip and starts becoming part of a public figure’s legacy."

LIKE WHAT YOU'RE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

The public's reaction to the family drama, however, remains open to interpretation. While some experts believe the repeated rejection of Pitt's surname could become part of his public legacy, others contend the developments may instead generate sympathy for the Oscar-winning actor.

"One of the primary things that parents should focus on in a divorce is the well-being of the child, and that often means striving for the child to have a healthy relationship with both parents," Jordan Matthews told Fox News Digital.

The entertainment attorney for Los Angeles-based Holtz Matthews LLP argued that while the decision to drop Pitt's last name was "highly personal," it is likely to leave many members of the public "sympathetic to Pitt’s position."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Football influencer Kay Adams turns in worst Heisman pose ever, 7'9 first pitch & thick Chip Kelly

The football broadcasting influencer, who turned 40 in April, posted the self-deprecating moment on Instagram

The sun is out, the Canadian wildfire smoke suddenly doesn't exist anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains & it's time to pump out a fresh edition of Wednesday Screencaps for those of you who are just trying to pass the time until your next week off before football season.

Let's get rolling with Kay Adams, the football broadcasting influencer, self-admitting to turning in one of, if not the worst, Heisman poses in influencer history. She was at Fanatics Fest over the weekend and was hired to do some chat with famous athletes, including Joe Burrow.

I'm not a huge Kay Adams fan like OutKick's Zach Dean to the point where I'd take a bullet for her, but I get her appeal. Kay turned 40 in April and is one of the only women in the broadcasting game who seems fun, hasn't pivoted into a yoga instructor and doesn't tell guys that they're perverted for finding her attractive.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN AND DEFEND CODY RHODES' AWFUL, TERRIBLE PLACEKICKING PERFORMANCE

For those of us in our 40s, Kay is a unicorn. I get it. We're used to being called pigs by the COVID-era, Sarah Spain types who ruined the sports/pop culture world for about six years. There was a brief period right there before 2020 where the Spain types ruled.

Thankfully, those days are history.

"Wanna see the worst Heisman pose of all time? 🙋🏻‍♀️what was I trying to do here? i need to take a lap," Kay cheekily wrote on her latest Instagram post.

KAY ADAMS HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CALL FOR PUNISHMENT AFTER FEET END UP ONLINE, LIKELY LEAVING DMS IN SHAMBLES

Sold. The last time the South seceded it didn't turn out all that well.

Plus, if they break away, no more College World Series - which, realistically, is the SEC's only solid chance to claim a national championship these days ...

– Chris W. in California is living through this right now: I feel for Brad S. and the locust like scourge of having a bunch of teenage boys over at your house. Especially during the Summer we have an ever rotating group of my sons' friends hanging out at our house, all of them in the 10-14 year age range.

I'm pretty certain you could feed most small armies for less than what it costs me to keep food in my house. A $120 Taco Bell bill is one of the many reasons I make sure we have enough stuff so we don't have to order out very often (And when we do it's either pizza or blessedly, because we live in California, In-N-Out which is still the best bang for your buck in all of fast food), but I have both a Sam's Club and Costco membership because they are the only ways to keep the horde sated. When there's a sleepover I dread waking up the next morning to see the remnants of the blitzkrieg on my pantry and fridge, and I know no matter what I'm going to have to run out to get more eggs and bread (teen boys eat SOOOO much bread) to make breakfast happen.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

Yes, it's a pain, yes it's expensive, but I look at it the same way I do how much time and gas money I spend on driving my kids around to all of their activities, it's just a sign I have healthy, active boys that aren't couch potatoes, kids that are going out and getting stuff done. If my grocery bill has to look like a second mortgage as a result, that's a small price to pay.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

######################

That's it for this random Wednesday in July. The first two NFL training camps open today. Carolina and Arizona will battle on August 6 in the Hall of Fame game. Guys, we're so close, but, as always, we do not waste summer days. Go out and make today count.

Fake password-manager alerts could put your vault at risk

A convincing policy update leads to a fake DocuSign page and a suspicious download. Here is how to spot the scam before your vault is at risk.

You open your inbox and see a message about updated security policies. Nothing about it screams scam. The email looks polished, the wording sounds official and the button promises a quick way to review the changes. That is exactly what makes it dangerous.

LastPass is warning users about a newly identified phishing campaign that uses lookalike domains and a fake DocuSign page to lure people into downloading suspicious software.

The good news is that LastPass says its systems were not affected. The bad news is that scammers are counting on you to trust the logo, overlook the web address and click before taking a closer look. Here is what to watch for before one routine-looking email puts your entire password vault at risk.

Free live CyberGuy class: Sick of Spam? Its known subject line reads, "Action Required: Review Updated LastPass Security Policies." Inside, the message claims LastPass has made service policy changes. It mentions enhanced SaaS monitoring. It also claims administrators can reset master passwords and that the admin console has improved.

Those details make the email sound like a real company notice. However, the sending domain belongs to the attackers. LastPass says lastpassnewsletter[.]com has no affiliation with the company. The email includes a Review & Access Terms button. That button creates the next layer of the trap.

Fake LastPass page sends you to a DocuSign lookalike

Clicking the button sends you to lastpasscompliance[.]com. The landing page copies the look of DocuSign and claims a document is ready for review. That choice makes sense from a scammer's perspective. Many people receive electronic signature requests at work or while handling personal paperwork. A familiar layout can lower your guard before you inspect the web address.

We have seen the same trust trick in other fake DocuSign email scams. The brand name gives the request a sense of legitimacy, even when the sender and domain do not match. LastPass says Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Cloudflare classified the phishing site as malicious. The page also prompted visitors to download software that claimed to work on Windows and macOS.

LastPass was still investigating the download when it published its warning. Therefore, you should treat the file as dangerous and avoid opening it. The site also displayed a live support chat box, although it was unclear whether the chat worked. The malicious page had gone offline by the time the campaign was reported. However, attackers can quickly replace blocked domains with new ones.

Similar Bitwarden emails widen the warning

LastPass users are not the only targets. Bitwarden customers have received similar messages from hello@bitwardennewsletter.com. Those emails directed recipients to bitwardencompliance[.]com. The matching format suggests attackers may be reusing the same campaign structure across password manager brands.

That matters because password manager customers present an attractive target. One stolen master password could put many saved accounts at risk. Multi-factor authentication may still block access, depending on your security settings.

A password manager remains valuable protection. In fact, autofill can help expose a fake website because the manager should recognize the legitimate domain. You can compare current options in our guide to the best password managers for 2026 at cyberguy.com

LastPass users have faced several phishing lures in 2026

This campaign follows other LastPass-themed phishing attempts from earlier this year. In January, fake messages warned that users had only 24 hours to back up their vaults before maintenance. Then, a March campaign used fabricated email threads about unauthorized account access.

Both approaches relied on urgency to push people into acting before they verified the message. The new compliance notice uses a calmer approach. It looks like paperwork rather than a crisis. That may make it especially effective because policy updates feel normal and boring.

REDHOOK ANDROID MALWARE CAN QUIETLY HIJACK YOUR PHONE

Ways to stay safe from the LastPass phishing scam

A few careful steps can keep one convincing email from turning into a much larger problem.

1) Do not click the policy review button

Delete the message or report it as phishing. Do not reply. Avoid opening its links or downloading the file it offers.

2) Open LastPass on your own

Use the official LastPass app or type lastpass.com into your browser. Check for account notices after you sign in through the trusted route.

3) Read the full domain before entering anything

Lookalike domains often add a trusted brand name to words such as "newsletter" or "compliance." Check the website address before the first slash. A legitimate LastPass address should end in lastpass.com, such as support.lastpass.com, rather than merely containing the word "LastPass."

4) Pay attention when autofill stays silent

A password manager may refuse to fill your credentials on a fake domain. Treat that as a warning. Do not copy and paste the password to get around it. Instead, close the page and access your account through the official app or website.

5) Change your master password if you entered it

Use a trusted device and go directly to LastPass. Change the master password immediately. Then review your vault for unexpected activity, as LastPass recommends. Next, change passwords for sensitive accounts stored in the vault if you see signs of access. Start with email, financial accounts, cloud storage and social media. Use a different password for every account.

AMAZON RECALL TEXT SCAM COMES WITH RED FLAGS

6) Treat the download as dangerous

Do not open software offered by a security notice you reached through email. If you already opened the file, disconnect the affected device from the internet. Then use strong antivirus software to inspect it. Our current best antivirus protection guide at cyberguy.com can help you compare tools that block malicious websites and dangerous downloads. It also covers protection against malware. You can also follow these steps after you clicked a suspicious email and entered information.

7) Turn on multi-factor authentication

Enable multi-factor authentication for your password manager and other important accounts. An authenticator app or security key can add a barrier if someone steals your password. However, never approve a login request you did not initiate. A second security step only helps when you treat unexpected prompts as a warning.

8) Reduce the personal information scammers can find

Scammers often use information from data broker sites to make phishing emails feel more personal. That could include your phone number, home address, relatives or past employers. A data removal service can help find and remove some of that information from people-search websites. It will not secure a compromised password manager, but it may give scammers fewer details to use in future attacks. Check out my top picks for data removal services and get a free scan to find out if your personal information is already out on the web by visiting Cyberguy.com

9) Report suspicious LastPass messages

Forward questionable LastPass-branded emails to abuse@lastpass.com. LastPass says no one from the company will ever ask for your master password.

Kurt's key takeaways

What makes this scam dangerous is how normal the email looks. Most people expect password manager alerts to sound urgent. This one arrives dressed up as a boring policy update, which may make you less likely to question it. The biggest red flag is the web address. A company name inside a domain does not mean the company owns it. Before entering a master password or downloading anything, close the email and open the password manager directly. Your master password protects everything stored in your vault. Treat any request for it like someone asking for the keys to your house.

Have you ever received a security email that looked so real you almost clicked?
'Dutton Ranch' star Ed Harris blasts producers, says he wanted to void contract: 'Get me the f--- out'

Harris says a cut scene involving his character Everett McKinney pushed him to his breaking point

Ed Harris says he came close to walking away from Taylor Sheridan's "Dutton Ranch."

The veteran actor revealed he felt "underused and inconsequential" while filming the show's first season, prompting him to tell his team to "get me the f--- out of here" before production wrapped.

"Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do — and that I was one of the four main characters," Harris told Variety. "And that wasn't really the case."

COLE HAUSER SAYS HIS FAMILY HELPED SHAPE MONTANA AS FANS FOLLOW TAYLOR SHERIDAN FROM TREASURE STATE TO TEXAS

The Oscar-nominated actor, who plays veterinarian Everett McKinney in the "Yellowstone" spin-off, said he felt "misled" about the importance of his character after allegedly being promised a much larger role before production began.

By the middle of filming, Harris said he'd reached his breaking point.

Harris said he confronted the production about his concerns, though he did not identify Sheridan by name.

LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? "I'm being told my character will have a little bit more to do [in Season 2]. I was just a little frustrated, to tell you the truth."

Looking back after watching the finished season, Harris admitted his perspective changed.

He called "Dutton Ranch" "pretty good" and said Everett ended up feeling "relatively important to the story." Still, he said that wasn't how it felt while cameras were rolling.

Harris said he filmed a sequence in which Everett is invited to sing in a bar — only to discover it had been axed from production.

"So, there's this scene in there … I'm talking to [Beth Dutton] at the bar, and [Rip Wheeler] comes in and says, 'OK, Everett, come on, it's your turn,'" Harris said. "I walk up to the mic, and they cut it… They cut the song out. I'm going, 'F--- you, people.'"

According to Harris, producers told him the musical moment was removed because it was "too 'up' for the dark ending of that episode."

Harris said he felt that was "enough reason to say I'm voiding my contract."

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER

Despite his blunt remarks, Harris remains signed on for two seasons of "Dutton Ranch," and it remains unclear whether he is seriously considering leaving the series.

Sheridan's latest chapter in the "Yellowstone" universe debuted on Paramount+ in May.

The series picks up with fan favorites Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they trade Montana for South Texas, where they're determined to build a ranch — and a new life — from the ground up.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Joining Reilly and Hauser is an ensemble cast that includes Harris, Annette Bening, Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R.
Biden administration forced a false choice on Americans about immigration

My daughter Katie was killed because of the left's failure to protect our border

Economist Thomas Sowell famously observed, "There are no solutions. There are only trade-offs."

Few ideas better explain America's immigration debate.

During the Biden-Harris administration, politicians, activists and much of the media often spoke as though weakening immigration enforcement came without cost. Border security was portrayed as the enemy of compassion. Anyone who questioned the consequences of illegal immigration risked being labeled anti-immigrant, xenophobic or worse.

MOM FROM VIRAL RO KHANNA DEBATE SAYS DEMS CAN'T CLAIM TO SUPPORT BOTH SECURE BORDERS AND SANCTUARY POLICIES

The American people never accepted that false choice.

Neither did my parents.

They immigrated legally from a developing country in the early 1960s because they believed America was a nation of opportunity built on the rule of law. They never saw legality and compassion as competing values. They understood that one depended upon the other.

AMERICA NEEDS WORKERS, BUT TRUMP'S POLICIES ARE SHARPLY CUTTING LEGAL IMMIGRATION

Since my daughter Katie was killed in January 2025, I've been told more times than I can count that advocating for stronger immigration enforcement somehow makes me anti-immigrant.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The polling tells a different story than the rhetoric. If Americans had truly become anti-immigrant, support for legal immigration would have collapsed. It didn't. What collapsed was confidence that the government was willing to enforce the laws governing immigration.

HUNDREDS OF JAILED ILLEGAL ALIENS RELEASED BACK ONTO BLUE-STATE STREETS DESPITE ICE DETAINERS, RECORDS SHOW

That distinction matters.

Katie was 20 years old when she was killed while visiting friends at the University of Illinois. According to court records, the man responsible had previously been deported before unlawfully reentering the United States in 2022 during the unprecedented surge in illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris administration. Illinois then compounded those failures through policies that, in my view, reduced cooperation with federal immigration authorities and failed to account for foreseeable public safety risks.

Katie became one of the foreseeable consequences of those policy choices.

That is the trade-off too few leaders were willing to discuss.

Every public policy creates benefits, costs and risks. Honest leaders acknowledge them. Responsible leaders weigh them. Wise leaders build guardrails to reduce foreseeable harm. Reckless leaders pretend the trade-offs don't exist.

Compassion is a virtue. So is public safety. So is the rule of law.

A mature society should never have to choose among them.

Yet during the Biden-Harris administration, Americans were repeatedly told that enforcing immigration law "terrorized" communities while questioning illegal immigration reflected a lack of compassion. That rhetoric didn't elevate the debate. It distorted it. It turned the rule of law into the villain while too often dismissing the families whose lives were forever changed by foreseeable policy failures.

My family is one of them.

The overwhelming majority of immigrants who come to America legally enrich our nation. They build businesses, strengthen communities, serve in our military and pursue the same opportunities my parents sought decades ago.

They deserve better than an immigration debate that blurs the line between legal and illegal immigration.

They also deserve leaders willing to acknowledge that every public policy carries foreseeable trade-offs. Ignoring those trade-offs doesn't eliminate them. It simply transfers the costs to someone else.

That may be the greatest irony of the Biden-Harris administration's approach to immigration.

Those who claimed to be defending immigrants may have done more than anyone to undermine public confidence in immigration itself. By refusing to distinguish between legal immigration and illegal immigration — and by insisting that concerns about enforcement were rooted in intolerance rather than legitimate questions of governance — they weakened the public trust upon which every successful immigration system depends.

Sowell's insight was never merely about economics.

It was about leadership. Trade-offs exist whether politicians acknowledge them or not. Ignoring them doesn't make them disappear. It only determines who pays the price.

My daughter Katie was one of those people.

America has not rejected immigrants. It has rejected the false choice that says we must choose between compassion and the rule of law.

We don't have to.

We never did.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION

If we want America to remain the most welcoming nation in the world, we must restore public confidence that our immigration system is lawful, orderly and honest about the foreseeable trade-offs of the policies our leaders choose.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

That isn't anti-immigrant.

It is pro-immigrant, pro-rule of law, and, ultimately, the only way to preserve both.

CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM JOE ABRAHAM

Fox News Power Rankings: Democrats lead in the House, but redistricting keeps the GOP in the game

The GOP banked about a dozen seats from new district boundaries, but a blue-leaning cycle leaves toss-up races up for grabs

The president’s party has lost an average of 25 U.S. House seats in Trump-era midterm elections. Given that Democrats only have an edge on the generic ballot and in party affiliation, so far, they look like they’re on track for an "average" night.

Republican redistricting wins change that calculation. The GOP is likely to bank about a dozen seats from new district boundaries drawn by Republican-controlled state legislatures, up to nine of those in Florida and Texas alone.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom scored his party an extra three to five seats after voters approved his gerrymandering referendum, but overall, the GOP won this battle in what now looks like a redistricting "forever war."

WHERE TRUMP, GOP VS DEMOCRATS REDISTRICTING BATTLE HEADS NEXT IN WAKE OF KEY COURT RULINGS

Together, this adds up to a small Democratic lead in the House. They start with 211 races in their categories, or seven short of the 218 they need for a majority. If they win more than a handful of toss-up races, they will have enough to flip the chamber.

There is enough room for the Republicans to maintain control on a good night for the party. Since toss-up races tend to be won and lost together, they could even improve on the slim majority they currently enjoy.

Five races that tell the story

Redistricting is at the heart of many key races this year, but the top of the ticket in each state, candidate quality and ground game are still important themes. Here are five districts to watch.

New York’s 17th district

The 17th district, up in the Hudson Valley, is the quintessential median district: a place that, on any given day, could swing in either direction.

Voters elected Republican Mike Lawler here by 6 points in 2024, but also voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris by 0.3 points, making it one of the rare ‘crossover’ districts of that election, and arguably the top target for Democrats in a more favorable political environment.

The party got moderate and combat veteran Cait Conley through the primary, despite competition from a progressive challenger, and she’s charted a center-left, anti-Trump course to flip the district. She’s one of the top 10 fundraisers in competitive districts this quarter.

Lawler won’t go down without a fight. He has Trump’s endorsement but disagrees with him at times, including over his refusal to sign a bipartisan housing bill.

This is a competitive race in a blue-leaning year, so it starts at Lean D.

Pennsylvania’s 7th district

Democrats fought hard to elect Gov. Josh Shapiro in Pennsylvania in the last midterms. This time, they’re in the driver’s seat. Shapiro has the support of 53% of voters in a July poll, and the GOP isn’t likely to invest in flipping it.

The House is a different story. The Keystone State is tied only with California for the largest number of highly competitive districts: four across the state, all on the east side.

MIKE JOHNSON PREDICTS GOP COULD GAIN UP TO EIGHT SEATS IN MIDTERMS, DEFYING HISTORICAL TRENDS

The seventh district is notable for its candidates: Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, the Republican who flipped the district in 2024 and whose mother, Milou, is a popular state representative in the Lehigh Valley, and Bob Brooks, a local firefighter who enjoys the endorsements of both Shapiro and Senator Bernie Sanders.

The race offers a clear look at whether a Democrat who seems to have unified both wings of his party can also appeal to White working-class voters who have swung toward the GOP during the Trump era. It’s a toss-up.

North Carolina’s 1st district

Republicans took a knife to North Carolina’s district boundaries last year to make this seat, in the northeast corner of the state, more Republican.

Under the new lines, the district has fewer Black voters, and that includes the seat’s current congressman, Rep. Don Davis, a moderate Democrat whose home in Snow Hill was moved to the 3rd district.

Davis is still running in the first district these midterms (congresspeople don’t have to live in the districts they represent), where he will face Republican and retired Army Colonel Laurie Buckhout, a pro-Trump conservative who is leaning into her military experience.

It’s a close race by many measures, including fundraising, with both candidates raising $1 million in the last quarter.

Republicans will flip the seat on a good night, to be sure. But in what looks like a favorable cycle for Democrats, it’s not yet clear that the GOP has an edge. It starts as a toss-up.

Alabama’s 2nd district

Alabama’s second district is currently home to Rep. Shomari Figures, a Democrat who flipped the seat for the first time in over a decade after a federal court ordered the state to redraw it with a higher Black population in 2023.

He probably won’t occupy it much longer.

After the Supreme Court’s ruling to narrow a key provision of the Voting Rights Act in April, Gov. Kay Ivey restored the original map; White voters now make up nearly two-thirds of the district’s population.

Figures is still running; he’s likely to face Trump-endorsed state Rep. Rhett Marques in the general election in a race that the National Republican Congressional Committee is investing in.

It’s a redistricting win for Republicans, and a Likely R pickup in the forecast.

Florida’s 14th district

Other redistricting efforts might not yield such clear-cut results.

In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new map could yield up to four more Republicans in November, but it depends on what kind of night the GOP has across the country.

As the Wall Street Journal pointed out in April, "making a blue district more Republican means making a red one less Republican." (Florida’s 26th district is a great example of the latter, though it’s still ranked Solid R in this forecast.)

The delicate balance has also meant creating new Democratic-incumbent districts that, yes, have more GOP-leaning voters in them, but not so many as to guarantee a flip.

Florida’s 14th district is a perfect case study. Under its new lines, it would’ve voted for President Trump by 11 points in 2024. Given Florida’s rightward drift, it would usually start as a likely GOP pickup.

That’s not the case this year. Incumbent Democrat Kathy Castor doesn’t have a competitor yet, but she has $1.5 million in cash on hand and support from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, so she’s not out of this fight.

It’s a Lean R race.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Tomorrow, the full governor’s forecast, with rankings for Iowa, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Wisconsin and 30 other states.

Israel's new exhibit exposes years of Hamas terrorist planning before Oct 7 massacre

The 600-square-meter exhibition features weapons, Hamas tunnel replicas and footage of Israel hostages reuniting

The "Return to October" exhibition offers an immersive reconstruction of the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, combining video with declassified Israel Defense Forces intelligence and planning materials recovered in the Gaza Strip that reveal how the Palestinian terrorist group planned and carried out its cross-border assault.

The 600-square-meter exhibition was assembled by the Israel Intelligence Heritage & Commemoration Center (IICC), a nonprofit dedicated to commemorating fallen members of Israel's intelligence community.

The exhibition features vehicles used in the attack, a film on the abduction of Israeli hostages, a mock Hamas tunnel, and excerpts from the Israel Defense Forces' 47-minute compilation of raw footage from the assault.

INSIDE ISRAEL'S MISSION TO TRAIN CIVILIANS TO STOP THE NEXT OCT 7-LIKE TERROR ATTACK

"The main conclusion of this exhibition is that Hamas prepared this terror invasion over a long period in a highly organized and professional manner. It gathered extensive intelligence over many years, and visitors can see examples of that intelligence-gathering effort throughout the exhibition," Yossi Kuperwasser, head of the Institute for the Research of the Methodology of Intelligence at the Israel Intelligence Heritage & Commemoration Center, told Fox News Digital.

Kuperwasser said the exhibition's most significant feature is its collection of documents seized by the IDF in Gaza that Hamas sought to keep hidden. Among them are materials indicating that Hezbollah chose not to fully join the Oct. 7 attack out of concern that Israel would respond with a major offensive. The documents also shed light on the relationship between Hamas and Iran, including the extent of Tehran's involvement.

"The most important lesson is that Israel's enemies are constantly planning large-scale terrorist attacks. They seek to wipe us off the map, and if you become complacent and assume they are not preparing such attacks, you are mistaken," he said.

ISRAEL'S MILITARY ELIMINATES HAMAS TERRORIST WHO HELPED ABDUCT AMERICAN-ISRAELI HOSTAGE, 3 OTHERS

The exhibition's first room features a map marking 114 points where terrorists breached the border into Israel on Oct. 7. Red circles identify the communities that were attacked, while a dotted red line traces where the attackers were ultimately stopped. According to the exhibition, about 4,300 Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terrorist operatives entered Israel at the start of the assault, followed by another 1,500 to 1,700 Gazans described as "uninvolved civilians."

Displayed in the room are Egyptian, North Korean, Russian, Chinese and Iranian-made weapons, alongside arms supplied to Hamas by Hezbollah.

The tour guide Eyal, whose last name could not be disclosed, displayed a kidnapping kit containing handcuffs, electric shock devices and syringes intended to sedate hostages, alongside what he described as a "spiritual kit" containing a miniature Quran and a fatwa, or religious ruling, calling for the killing of Israelis.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PROBES UNRWA OVER ALLEGED EMPLOYMENT OF 1,500 TERRORISTS

Another display features military gear belonging to former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, as well as a handwritten document recovered by the IDF from the European Hospital in Gaza.

"Here, he instructs Hamas terrorists to attack the Zionists, burn villages, kill and kidnap people, humiliate soldiers, and document everything using GoPro cameras for social media," Eyal said.

The document also states that Sinwar hoped Iran, the Houthis, Hezbollah, Arabs in Judea and Samaria, and Arab citizens of Israel would join the assault.

Also on display are aerial photographs that Hamas used to map Kibbutz Be’eri, identifying individual homes, the armory and the security chief’s residence; an operational plan dated Oct. 6 that was shared only with Hamas commanders to prevent leaks; and a booklet translating Arabic phrases into Hebrew.

The exhibition also highlights Hamas education and incitement. Shelves display books recovered from Gaza, including copies of Mein Kampf found in schools, while photographs show children posing with weapons after attending Hamas summer camps.

"It begins in childhood," Eyal told Fox News Digital.

Another room focuses on Hamas’s exploitation of journalists and UNRWA for terrorist purposes, featuring displays that organizers say show 60% of reporters killed in Gaza were Hamas members or affiliated with the organization, a photograph of a UNRWA school allegedly used as a combat headquarters, and a map of Israel labeling towns and cities with Arabic names.

A garage-like room displays a white Toyota pickup truck and motorcycles used in the terror assault.

"We found that 153 pickup trucks and 350 motorcycles entered Israel that day. Many of these Toyotas were imported into Gaza through Ashdod Port in Israel," Eyal said.

Another room shows excerpts from the IDF’s 47-minute compilation of raw footage from the attacks. Many journalists chose not to watch because of the graphic content, while some who remained in the room left in tears.

Toward the end, a corridor displays the names and photographs, in alphabetical order, of the 1,224 people killed during the attacks, including soldiers, police officers, civilians, Jews, Arabs, Christians, and Druze.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"When we fail in our mission, this is the situation we arrive at," Eyal said.

The final room features footage of Israeli hostages reuniting with their families and concludes with an optimistic painting depicting a flourishing southern Israel.

GOP senators unveil move to memorialize communism victims on CCP's doorstep amid Dem civil war: 'No tolerance'

The bill would place the memorial in International Park honoring those killed from Mao Zedong's rule to the Uyghur genocide

FIRST ON FOX: Sens. Rick Scott, R-Fla., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced legislation Tuesday to create a memorial in Washington, D.C., honoring victims of genocide, crimes against humanity and political persecution committed by the Chinese Communist Party as the Democratic Party deals with a socialist civil war in its ranks.

The bill, titled the Honoring the Victims of Communist China's Tyranny Act, would require the State Department to establish a memorial in International Park, across from the CCP Embassy, honoring victims of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution. The memorial would commemorate victims from Mao Zedong's rule, whose policies historians estimate killed tens of millions of people, to the Tiananmen Square crackdown and the genocide against Uyghurs recognized by the U.S. government.

"The people of China deserve nothing less than the God-given liberty and unalienable rights America's founders fought for 250 years ago," Scott said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"America should have zero tolerance for Communist China and its crimes."

REPORT DETAILS RISING PRESSURE ON UNDERGROUND CATHOLICS AS CHINA DENIES CRACKDOWN

Scott added that Xi Jinping and the CCP are "responsible for some of the worst human rights abuses in history," citing forced slave labor, torture, forced sterilizations and organ harvesting as well as several "other horrors."

In an X post on Tuesday, Scott criticized far-left political influencer Hasan Piker, who previously praised Zedong as "one of the great leaders of this world" and "a man who changed the entire universe, the entire planet." Piker, who has roughly 10 million followers across social media, has also drawn criticism for past inflammatory remarks, including saying the United States "deserved" 9/11, and recently campaigned with Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan.

HASAN PIKER VOWS NEVER TO CRITICIZE MAO ZEDONG IN RESURFACED VIDEO, HAILS HIM AS ‘GREAT LEADER’

"Mao Zedong's dictatorship of the CCP resulted in the deaths of tens of MILLIONS of people," Scott wrote.

"We know Hasan Piker shills for communists, but praising a dictator who is known for mass murder & causing one of the worst famines in human history is beyond the pale. This is the new face of the Democrat Party."

Blackburn echoed that sentiment, telling Fox News Digital that the CCP "is guilty of the worst human rights abuses imaginable."

"Our legislation would honor victims of Communist China's tyranny by allocating existing funds and donations to build a memorial that will ensure America never forgets the human cost of the CCP's oppression," she said.

MORNING GLORY: WILL XI FREE LAI?

Citing jailed Hong Kong publisher and democracy activist Jimmy Lai as an example, Scott said anyone who speaks out against the Chinese government will "pay the price." Lai is serving a 20-year prison sentence under Hong Kong's national security law, which Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called "unjust and tragic."

By placing the memorial across from the CCP Embassy, Scott said Chinese officials would be reminded daily of the CCP's crimes.

"As Xi's henchmen at the embassy walk into work every day, they should have to face the litany of crimes in which they've been complicit," he said.

The bill would require the memorial to express "solidarity and friendship of the people of the United States with the people of the People's Republic of China" and "the hope and prayer that the Chinese people may one day enjoy the blessings of liberty."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

The memorial would include exhibits documenting "the genocide of Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minorities in Xinjiang," as well as efforts to suppress the culture, religion, history and language of Tibetans and Southern Mongolians, according to the bill.

The legislation limits taxpayer funding for the memorial to $500,000 while permitting private donations to fund the remainder.

Trump administration has lost or abandoned hundreds of lawsuits against anti-ICE protesters, migrants: report

Homeland Security describes 'massive increase in violence and threats against federal law enforcement'

The Trump administration has lost or abandoned hundreds of cases in which it accused anti-ICE protesters and migrants of assaulting federal immigration agents, a report said.

An analysis from The New York Times showed that of the 558 people charged, 191 cases were dismissed, and 22 people were acquitted. Only four were convicted after trial, while 246 pleaded guilty and another 95 cases are pending.

The newspaper reported the Justice Department typically has a record of more than 90% of defendants pleading guilty or being convicted at trial. The Trump administration’s strategy in court has been leaning on 18 U.S.C. 111, a statute that makes it a federal crime to assault or forcibly impede a government officer and carries punishments ranging from a fine to 20 years in prison, it added.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department for comment.

NEW YORK TIMES TORCHED FOR 'FALSE' REPORTING ON ICE INVESTIGATIONS, OUTLET FIRES BACK

DHS spokeswoman Lauren Bis told The New York Times that "it should come as no surprise that there’s an increase in criminal referrals under 18 U.S.C. 111 as there’s been a massive increase in violence and threats against federal law enforcement."

"Federal prosecutors are correct to prioritize these prosecutions and hold individuals accountable to the fullest extent of the law," added Justice Department spokesman Wyn Hornbuckle, describing how prosecutors, at times, reduced or dropped charges based on "mitigating factors identified in a case."

The New York Times cited another Justice Department official as saying that prosecutors in some of the cases dropped charges when the defendants were deported from the United States.

The newspaper said it based its analysis on court filings, hearing transcripts, videos of encounters and interviews with witnesses and federal officials.

ICE RESUMES NATIONWIDE TRAFFIC STOPS UNDER NEW POLICY REQUIRING BODY CAMERAS

It reported that in dozens of the cases that were lost or abandoned, court records and video showed that federal agents initiated physical struggles, such as shoving, tackling and pepper spraying defendants. Other defendants were able to successfully argue that the assaults they were accused of committing against the federal agents were acts of self-defense, the newspaper added.

Two of the judges overseeing the cases discovered agents purposely destroyed evidence, including demanding that a defendant delete images from their cellphone, according to The New York Times.

Officers also charged more than two dozen people who allegedly filmed or followed agents, sometimes honking car horns or shouting phrases like, "La migra is coming!," despite no allegations of physical contact with agents, the newspaper reported.

In one case, a judge dismissed assault charges against an immigrant after ruling that the agent involved was cut by glass from a car window that the agent had smashed, and in 65 instances, prosecutors abandoned or dropped charges before deadlines to present evidence to a grand jury or judge, the New York Times also said.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

The report did note one occasion when federal immigration officers were seriously hurt by protesters and migrants, including the dragging of an officer who had his arm inside a car window.

ESPN laying off Karl Ravech leaves fans fuming, but the writing has been on the wall for years

The layoffs also included Ryan Clark, Cam Newton, and Tom Pelissero as ESPN continues distancing itself from MLB

What a week over at ESPN. It looks a little different today, if you haven't heard.

The World Wide Leader laid off dozens of employees this week, starting with Monday's on-air debacle with Ryan Clark. OutKick broke that story, by the way, despite what the PR folks at ESPN want to tell you.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there.

Clark was let go, along with Cam Newton and Tom Pelissero, among others. Clark was the biggest name because he was the biggest gaslighter, but the other two were somewhat stunning, too.

Newton had become a fixture on First Take, while Pelissero is well-respected — although he was more of a casualty of the merger with NFL Network. A lot of cooks in the NFL insider kitchen now.

The biggest stunner, however? How about ESPN deciding to cut ties with longtime baseball voice, Karl Ravech? That one shocked the internet.

Furthermore, it infuriated the internet. Everyone was pretty mixed on Clark. You either loved him or hated him.

But Karl Ravech? The 33-year vet? The voice of Sunday Night Baseball? The voice of Baseball Tonight? The voice of the College World Series?

That one upset people:

ESPN had been distancing itself from MLB for years now

I could go on and on. It's a war zone over on Elon's app right now, and rightfully so.

Ravech, by the way, was also the voice of the Little League World Series, which is set to start next month. Brutal move.

Look, layoffs are all part of the job, especially in this business. I've only been in it for 10 years, but I've seen at least four rounds of layoffs already. Never been part of one (mainly because I don't get paid enough), but I assume I will someday.

I remember years ago I was out covering a Stetson baseball tournament game when a massive round of layoffs hit the office, particularly the sports department. I came back that afternoon and we had lost two sports editors and a writer. Doesn't sound like a lot, but that was half our staff at that point.

I left in the morning and it was a regular day, and came back to three empty chairs. It was a bloodbath. Wild.

Anyway, firing Karl Ravech is a gut-punch to anyone who grew up watching baseball and ESPN. Remember the glory days of Ravech, Peter Gammons, Harold Reynolds and Steve Bethiaume?

Man, we had it all:

Lordy. What a time to be alive. I miss it so much.

Anyone whose been halfway paying attention knew this was coming, by the way. ESPN put all of its eggs in the NBA basket years ago, for some asinine reason.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

ESPN also continue to distance itself from MLB, evidenced by the nasty fallout between the two last year that resulted in Rob Manfred shopping around the TV rights. That really got the ball rolling in terms of cutting the cord, and this latest move is the next logical step.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

As for Ravech, I'd imagine he'll land on his feet pretty quickly — if he wants to. MLB Network is the obvious name to watch.

And yes, that would be a home run.

Republicans say they'd welcome Fetterman as GOP eyes bigger Senate majority

Fetterman has said he would leave if Democrats officially become 'the anti-Israel party' over Gaza and Iran policy

Republicans are ready to embrace a maverick Democrat eying an exit from the party to further grow their thin majority.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., recently drew a sharp line in the sand on what it would take to leave the Democratic Party, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., would be happy to have him officially cross the aisle.

"Yes, we would welcome him," Thune said. "And I haven't talked to him recently. I have had conversations with him in the past, as have many of my colleagues, about the challenges he faces in his caucus. And, you know, there are many of us who I think would welcome the opportunity to have him join the Republican conference."

TRUMP FACES REPUBLICAN REBELLION OVER DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME AS SENATE BILL NEARS DEAD END

Fetterman, who helped clinch a historically thin Democratic majority in 2022 running on a progressive platform, has transformed into a staunch advocate for Israel at the same time his Democratic colleagues in the Senate have begun pulling away from supporting the Jewish State.

He has routinely broken with his party in his support of the war in Iran and Israel’s campaign against Hamas in Gaza. And that has fueled many of his policy positions on key votes in the upper chamber.

Fetterman told the Hill earlier this month that if Democrats continued to pull further and further away from supporting Israel, he’d leave.

"If our party ever becomes — and just makes it official — the anti-Israel party, that’s when I would leave because that’s been a moral clarity for me," Fetterman said.

WARREN DEFIES SCHUMER AS DEM CIVIL WAR EXPLODES OVER MUST-WIN SENATE RACE

Each time Senate Democrats have brought forward a war powers resolution to rein in Trump’s authority in the region, and force the administration to come to Congress for approval, Fetterman has joined Republicans to vote it down.

Earlier this year, Fetterman argued, "Something like this is much more important than just voting what your base might demand."

"Because I think things are much bigger and more important than that," he continued. "And Iran with a nuclear bomb is one of those things."

DEMS SCORE WIN AS GOP SENATOR HELPS ADVANCE IRAN WAR POWERS RESOLUTION

Fetterman’s edict on his party’s possible evolution came after 103 House Democrats — over half of the caucus — voted to end $3.3 billion in taxpayer-funded aid to Israel.

And earlier this year, Senate Democrats showed their slow creep backward against Israel, too, following the release of photos of starving children in Gaza.

Forty Senate Democrats voted to halt arms sales and military bulldozers to Israel as an act of protest against Trump’s war in Iran in April.

The two resolutions from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., combined would have blocked nearly $500 million in arms and equipment sales to Israel. One resolution would have halted the sale of roughly $295 million in Caterpillar bulldozers, while the other would have stopped the sale of nearly $152 million worth of 1,000-pound bombs.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Still, Thune said as much as Republicans would want to add him to their ranks, particularly with his seat up in 2028, the decision remains with Fetterman.

"I mean, this is a party that's moving further and further, more radically, and to the more extreme left on a lot of issues," Thune said. "And I think people like John Fetterman, who have views that probably reflect a more moderate or at least historically moderate Democrat position, are really kind of people without a home."

"So if he ever comes to the conclusion that he's ready to move, we would certainly welcome it," he continued.

‘Hero' mom dies after using last strength to save 4-year-old son from Florida river

Nicole Grayson jumped in after her son fell into the river at Ed Stone Park in Volusia County on Saturday

A Florida "hero" mom died after using all her strength to keep her 4-year-old son above water when he fell into the St. Johns River, allowing rescuers to pull the boy to safety, authorities and her family said.

Nicole Grayson, 43, jumped into the river after her young son fell into the water at Ed Stone Park, west of DeLand, around 4 p.m. Saturday, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the child had been playing with an unidentified object near a wooden fence along the river’s edge when he dropped it over the barrier. The boy fell into the river while attempting to retrieve it.

OFF-DUTY ICE OFFICER RELIES ON 'SIXTH SENSE' TO SAVE DROWNING CHILD BEFORE DELIVERING MESSAGE TO CRITICS

Grayson immediately went in after him.

"My guess is he was trying to get it. He slipped in the water, deep, he slipped away in the water," Grayson’s oldest son, Dafino Devega, told FOX 35. "And then my mom, I guess she panicked, and she went in the water and tried to save him."

CROCODILE ATTACK HORROR UNFOLDS AS COUPLE TRIES TO SAVE VICTIM: ‘WE FELT SO HELPLESS’

As Grayson struggled to keep her son above the surface, a witness at the park flagged down a passing boater, who threw two life preservers toward the mother and child, the sheriff’s office said.

Grayson eventually became submerged while continuing to hold her son above the water.

A frantic 911 caller told dispatchers that rescuers had managed to reach the child but were still struggling to recover his mother.

FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE PULL YOUNG WOMAN FROM SEWAGE-FILLED RAVINE AFTER DAYS TRAPPED IN 104-DEGREE HEAT

"Hey 911, can you come to Ed Stone Park?" the caller said in audio obtained by FOX 35.
