Multiple injured after floatplane makes emergency landing, catches fire off Washington coast

Multiple people were injured Thursday after a Kenmore Air floatplane made an emergency landing off the Washington coast before catching fire, prompting a massive rescue operation, authorities said.

The U.S. Coast Guard said it received a report around 5:25 p.m. local time that a Kenmore Air seaplane had made an emergency landing in North Beach Shallow Bay off Sucia Island before bursting into flames.

Authorities said all 10 passengers and the pilot were accounted for.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office said multiple people suffered injuries ranging from head trauma to broken bones and lacerations.

Kenmore Air said four passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities said one person was in critical condition. No fatalities were immediately reported.

The airline said it was working closely with investigators and would provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

Kenmore Air CEO David Gudgel said the company's immediate focus was on those aboard the aircraft.

"We are grateful that everyone aboard has been accounted for, and our immediate focus is ensuring our passengers and pilot receive the care and support they need," Gudgel said.

"We extend our sincere thanks to the United States Coast Guard, local emergency responders, and everyone assisting in the response," he continued. "Kenmore Air is fully cooperating with the investigating authorities, and we will continue providing verified information as it becomes available."

The airline said the aircraft involved was a de Havilland DHC-3 Otter operating near Sucia Island.

According to the sheriff's office, the flight departed Seattle's Lake Union and was headed to Roche Harbor Marina on San Juan Island.

A Kenmore Air spokesperson told Fox News Digital the route between Lake Union and the San Juan Islands is a routine flight for the airline.

"If you live here, you would be potentially taking a seaplane up there," the spokesperson said.

The sheriff's office said multiple agencies responded by deploying boats and emergency personnel to the scene.

The U.S. Navy also responded, while three air ambulance helicopters transported injured passengers.

Orcas Island Fire & Rescue, Lopez Island Fire & Rescue, San Juan Island Fire & Rescue and San Juan County Parks also responded.

Two found shot to death inside car on University of Chicago campus: report

Two people were shot and killed inside a vehicle on the University of Chicago campus on Thursday, according to local reports.

The victims — a 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man — were discovered inside a vehicle on the 5900 block of South Ellis near Midway Plaisance Ice Skating Rink and Harper Quad at around 5:35 p.m., police said, per NBC 5 Chicago.

Both victims had a gunshot wound to the head, according to police.

The man and woman were transported to the university hospital in critical condition, but were later pronounced dead.

A firearm was recovered from the scene, police said.

Video of the scene showed that the vehicle, which was damaged, appeared to have crashed either during or after the shooting, NBC 5 Chicago reported.

The incident remains under investigation.

"This incident is currently under investigation, and we cannot confirm details at this time," a Chicago Police Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The Indiana Fever are facing new scrutiny after former player Brianna Turner accused the organization of firing a male staff member over sexual harassment allegations during her time with the team, weighing in after Sophie Cunningham's comments on trans athletes.

Turner, a Fever player in 2025 and now with the Las Vegas Aces, made the allegations on X after Cunningham defended women's sports for biological females during an ESPN interview.

Cunningham said she wants to "protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men."

She madly defended trans inclusion, pointing to former WNBA player Layshia Clarendon, who was born female before later identifying as transgender.

"To date there's been one out trans player in the league. They caused zero problems," Turner wrote on X.

"Protecting our players and employees and maintaining a respectful, professional workplace is our top priority," the Fever said.

"Our policy is to take concerns seriously, investigate thoroughly, and act promptly when appropriate to protect the people in our organization and ensure everyone is treated with professionalism and respect."

The team concluded, "Fostering trust and safety in that process means we do not comment on personnel matters involving former employees."

It remains unclear whether the WNBA will review Turner's allegations.

California mayor's hot mic catches candid exchange after audience sends meeting off rails

A live microphone exposed a behind-the-scenes conversation between Sacramento's mayor and vice mayor as they discussed whether disruptive protesters could be barred from future city council meetings after a heated immigration-related debate descended into chaos.

"We should go over this disruptions thing, because if we want to ban somebody in the future, like to take them out, we have to point out specifically…" Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes is heard saying.

"I know, but the city attorney said we can't do that," Mayor Kevin McCarty replied.

"We did it last time," Talamantes responded.

"We can't," McCarty said, shaking his head. "I spent my first six months going over this. I wanted to give people, like, probation, like, you can't come…"

Talamantes then appeared to realize the microphone was still live and quickly reached over to switch it off before continuing the conversation, according to the publicly available city council livestream reviewed by Fox News Digital.

The awkward exchange unfolded Tuesday after Sacramento City Council recessed and ordered the public removed from the chambers following repeated disruptions during a fiery debate over the city's continued participation in a regional intelligence-sharing center.

The confrontation escalated after Talamantes defended accepting federal funding for the Central California Intelligence Center, or CCIC, arguing Sacramento's sanctuary city policies and immigrant protections made the city better suited to oversee the grant than other jurisdictions.

"The city of Sacramento is a sanctuary city," Talamantes said during the meeting. "If we don't pass these dollars, other counties will apply for these dollars, they will get those dollars and we will have no safeguards to protect our immigrant communities here in Sacramento."

Dozens of speakers had earlier urged the council to reject the agreement, arguing the intelligence center could facilitate information sharing with federal immigration authorities and undermine Sacramento's sanctuary city policies.

Police officials repeatedly disputed those claims during the meeting, telling council members Sacramento does not share personal identifying information for civil immigration enforcement and complies with California's sanctuary law, known as SB 54.

As public comment grew increasingly heated, one speaker repeatedly demanded McCarty pay attention.

Following Talamantes' remarks, another round of shouting erupted inside the council chambers.

"You're a pick-me b----," one attendee shouted at Talamantes, while others yelled, "Shame on you."

McCarty responded with what he described as a "final notice."

"This is the final notice," the mayor said. "We're going to continue with the deliberation, and if there's any more outbursts, we're gonna have to ask the audience to leave."

Seconds later, the disruptions intensified.

"You can't do this behind closed f---ing doors!" one attendee shouted.

"We are the community," another yelled.

"You represent us. You are our f---ing audience," another voice exclaimed as council members attempted to continue the meeting.

Council officials then paused the meeting and cleared the chambers after repeated disruptions prevented deliberations from continuing.

Following the meeting, McCarty said the private conversation focused on existing meeting procedures, not new restrictions.

"Every Tuesday, Vice Mayor Talamantes and I are responsible for overseeing and ensuring transparent, accessible, and open Council meetings," McCarty said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"Unfortunately, when meetings are repeatedly disrupted, we must discuss existing policies and rules to ensure Council meetings remain effective, orderly, and respectful for both the residents in attendance and the Councilmembers. We are committed to ensuring that all members of the public can access and engage safely without distraction or intimidation."

The Sacramento City Attorney's Office declined to address McCarty's reference to legal advice during the hot-mic exchange.

"The City Attorney's Office has no comment and will not be providing comment on this matter," the office said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The city's published meeting rules state that members of the public receive two minutes per agenda item and may speak on no more than four items during a meeting, limits intended to help the council conduct city business.

The hot-mic exchange quickly drew criticism from some activists, who argued Talamantes appeared interested in silencing vocal opponents.

Joshua Masias, a volunteer organizer with the Sac Immigration Committee, told The Sacramento Bee the conversation showed an authoritative approach toward members of the public.

"It's very authoritative how she wants to use her power," Masias told the outlet. "It stuck out to me that she was the only one to try to silence the crowd."

Resident Leanna Hunt, one of the council's most outspoken critics, also defended the protesters' frustration.

"I'm fed up," Hunt told the Bee. "It's not even a tactic — I'm just tired of being treated like we are an audience and that the king is deigning to see us peasants today and when the peasants are unruly, the king gets upset."

Massachusetts Democratic Party chairman admits to sufficient facts in June drunken driving case

The leader of the Massachusetts Democratic Party was arrested during a traffic stop on alleged drunken driving charges last month and days later admitted to prosecutors there were sufficient facts to support a conviction, according to state court records.

A judge on June 15 — two days after the traffic stop in the town of Southborough — continued the operating under the influence (OUI) liquor charge without a finding after Steve Kerrigan, chairman of the state's Democratic Party, entered an "admission to sufficient facts," a Massachusetts legal disposition in which a defendant acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence to obtain a conviction, according to Westborough District Court records.

In addition to the OUI charge, Kerrigan, 54, faced a negligent operation charge and a marked lanes violation. The negligent operation charge was dismissed, and he was found not responsible for the marked lanes violation.

The judge sentenced Kerrigan to a year's probation, suspended his driver's license for 45 days, ordered him to pay $600 in fees and required him to complete an impaired driving education program.

Kerrigan was elected chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party in 2023. He was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in 2014, and previously served as an executive with the Democratic National Convention Committee. He also serves as president and CEO of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center.

According to a Southborough Police Department report, an officer stopped Kerrigan shortly after midnight on June 13, after observing his BMW traveling on or over the lane divider.

The officer wrote that Kerrigan's eyes appeared "glassy" and "bloodshot red" and that his speech was slow and slurred. The report states the officer could not detect the smell of alcohol because of what was described as an "overwhelming odor of cologne."

Kerrigan told the officer he was driving home from a restaurant and said he had consumed two beers around 6 p.m. before dinner, according to the report.

Police administered field sobriety tests before Kerrigan provided a breath sample that registered a 0.089% blood alcohol content, according to the report. The legal blood alcohol limit in Massachusetts is 0.08%.

Kerrigan acknowledged the incident in a statement provided to Boston.com through his attorney, Andrea Levy.

"In June, I was pulled over for a marked lanes violation and blew a .089 on the breathalyzer," Kerrigan said. "I regret and take full responsibility for my actions and their consequences and appreciate the Southborough Police Department and the Westborough Court for their professionalism and service."

The Massachusetts Democratic Party did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Rubio unveils visa restrictions targeting cybercrime networks

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Thursday a new visa restriction policy targeting foreign nationals responsible for or complicit in cybercrime and cyber-enabled crime.

"This policy targets individuals responsible for, or complicit in, cybercrime and cyber-enabled crime, such as those involved in cyberscams, and sextortion," Rubio said in a statement.

Certain immediate family members of people covered by the policy may also be subject to the State Department's new visa restrictions, according to Rubio.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order earlier this year titled "Combatting Cybercrime, Fraud, and Predatory Schemes Against American Citizens" directs federal agencies to develop measures against foreign scam centers, transnational criminal organizations and cyber-enabled financial fraud.

The administration, Rubio said, "is taking action to counter an unprecedented threat from online investment scams."

Trump DOJ withdraws subpoenas targeting New York Times journalists amid leak probe

The Justice Department withdrew subpoenas Thursday it had previously filed against three New York Times journalists as part of a leak probe.

The DOJ sought the grand jury testimony and phone records of Times journalists Tyler Pager, Julian Barnes, Eric Schmitt and Eric Lipton, all of whom had a byline on a report published earlier this month revealing President Donald Trump flew home from Turkey on his old Air Force One instead of the new Qatar-donated Boeing 747-8 he flew into the NATO summit amid security concerns, something Trump denied.

The Times report, citing anonymous sources, prompted a leak probe by the DOJ, hoping to target those who gave the Times journalists the sensitive information.

"We value and appreciate the important role that the press plays in this country, but DOJ also plays an important role to make sure that the people entrusted with our nation's secrets do what they're supposed to do with that information, which means not sharing classified information," a DOJ spokesperson said at the time. "We recognize there may always be natural tension there, but we are not going to ignore the law and stop investigating the people who work in the administration and think it's okay to leak classified information impacting national security."

Suspect arrested after allegedly yelling ‘Allahu Akbar,' stabbing 2 men in NYC attack

A suspect is in custody after allegedly yelling "Allahu Akbar" while stabbing two men in what officials are describing as an apparent antisemitic attack in Manhattan's Upper West Side Thursday afternoon.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) said one of the victims is Jewish and that witnesses reported hearing the suspect yell "Allahu Akbar" during both assaults, which took place near West 84th Street and Central Park West, a large Jewish community.

Investigators are evaluating whether the reported attacks should be classified as a hate crime and identified the suspect as Raul Morales, 51, in both assaults.

According to the NYPD, the victims were stabbed in what appeared to be two separate attacks that happened near one another.

A 57-year-old man was reportedly attacked near West 84th Street and Central Park West just after 1:30 p.m.

Officials said officers found him conscious and alert with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Investigators later found a 50-year-old man nearby with a stab wound to his torso. He was also conscious and alert and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Initial NYPD findings suggest mental health may have been a factor.

"While the perpetrator has no known mental health history with the NYPD, the initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor," Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

WABC reported that police are investigating whether the suspect used a knife or a screwdriver during the alleged attacks.

Hours after the attack, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who recently called on the federal government to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said he had been briefed on what he described as "horrifying stabbings" and noted the victims were an Asian man and a Jewish man.

"According to witness and victim statements, the perpetrator yelled 'Allahu Akbar' during both attacks," Mamdani said. "The NYPD responded immediately and arrested Raul Morales in connection with both assaults — and I am grateful to the officers for their swift response."

Mamdani issued his statement roughly two hours after City Council Speaker Julie Menin and about 45 minutes after Gov. Kathy Hochul.

"We must remain united in condemning antisemitism and ensuring those responsible are held fully accountable," she added. "I thank the NYPD for its swift response in apprehending the assailant."

New York Assembly member Micah Lasher, a Jewish representative of the area, said he was also in contact with investigators.

"I am in touch with the NYPD and community leaders about the stabbing of two individuals on the Upper West Side today," Lasher said. "The NYPD responded immediately and has apprehended a suspect. I am praying for the survival and recovery of the victims and will provide more information as I have it."

Hochul posted on X, saying she is "disgusted by what appears to be another senseless attack on New Yorkers simply because they’re Jewish."

"The strength of New York has always been our ability to live together across every faith and background," Hochul added. "Anyone who tries to tear that apart will be met with the full force of the law. New York will stand with our Jewish community today, tomorrow, and always."

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Gideon Sa'ar added he was "appalled but sadly not surprised" by the incident, blaming Mamdani for creating "a climate in which Jews are targeted."

"I am appalled by the horrific antisemitic stabbing attack in New York. Appalled but sadly not surprised," he said in a post on X.

"This violence did not happen in a vacuum. Months of incitement against the Jewish state from Mamdani have helped create a climate in which Jews are targeted. Words have consequences. Mamdani must end the incitement, confront antisemitism with resolve, and act now to protect the city’s Jewish community."

Mamdani's office, along with the FBI, did not immediately respond to further inquiries from Fox News Digital.

The Open Championship just closed out the 2026 major championship season, and somehow one of the most unexpected winners in recent memory, Ryan Fox, hasn't been the story.

Instead? It's once again Bryson DeChambeau. DeChambeau was a lightning rod for criticism ahead of The Open when analysts Nick Faldo and Brandel Chamblee had harsh words for his approach. Faldo said he lacked the "strategy" to succeed in links golf, that he hits driver as far as he can and hopes for the best instead of trying to "thread" it down the fairway.

Chamblee had a broader complaint: He believes DeChambeau has spent more time chasing YouTube golf star Grant Horvat than trying to run down the best in the world, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. So how did Bryson respond? In the most Bryson way possible.

He immediately put himself in contention with a strong 3-under 67 first round. Afterward, he said in his media appearance that he had been very "strategic" when playing Royal Birkdale, a clear response to Faldo. Round two, however, was where he really became the center of attention.

After the round was completed, a seeming 4-under 66, rules officials brought DeChambeau back to the fifth hole, where they assessed him a two-stroke penalty for improving the area around his backswing. DeChambeau was furious, and apparently threatened to withdraw from the tournament in protest.

Some players, like Xander Schauffele, came to his defense. Scottie Scheffler also was adamant that the 32-year-old is not a "cheater."

One player who didn't come to his defense? Rory McIlroy. McIlroy was clear in his post-round comments that he doesn't care for DeChambeau and believed he deserved the penalty.

"I won’t pretend to be up here and defend Bryson," he told reporters during the tournament. "I’m not particularly fond of him. I think a lot of it is performative. I think a lot of it’s for attention.

"To hold the tournament hostage like that and to have all of us — players, volunteers, everyone — waiting on him to depart, I didn’t feel like it was a great look," McIlroy said.

This marked the latest entry in the budding rivalry between the two big names and big personalities in professional golf. They're on opposite sides of Ryder Cup battles. DeChambeau was one of the earliest and largest stars to depart for LIV Golf, while McIlroy became a sort of player spokesman defending the PGA Tour. McIlroy has never done a full 18-hole match on YouTube, while DeChambeau's made his channel into a behemoth, filming rounds with President Donald Trump and many others.

Ahead of this week's 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota, Scheffler was asked whether he believes the rivalry is good for golf, and gave a typically incisive answer.

"I think golf's different in a sense of a lot of other sports because my biggest rival week in and week out is the golf course that we're playing," he told the media. "I mean, I could never stop somebody from doing anything in golf. I felt like when I played basketball there would always be rivalries in basketball because you're going to play defense against a person and that is much more personal in a sense like because I'm actively trying to stop...like if you and I were going to go out and play one-on-one, it would turn into a rivalry because I'm actively trying to stop what you're doing.

"But in golf, we're always competing against ourselves on the golf course. I've never been a big fan of personal jabs. I don't think that rivalry is a big thing in golf just because, like I said, my biggest rivalry week in and week out is the golf course."

There have been a few instances of McIlroy and DeChambeau facing off with a tournament on the line, though they've never gone head-to-head in a Ryder Cup. Most of the rivalry seems to be McIlroy disliking Bryson for either his personality or his departure for LIV, and DeChambeau playing into it, because as he's put it, "rivalries are good" for golf.

Which is what makes the rivalry so fascinating. It's not competitive, it's personal. Scheffler and McIlroy have faced off in Ryder Cups, for example, yet there seems to be only mutual respect between the two.

Timothy Olyphant revealed he had to resurrect an old computer in an attempt to log on to the "SmartLess" podcast. Ultimately, he wound up using a friend's office to make the interview happen.

"I needed a computer," Olyphant, 58, told hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. "I guess you can't do your show if you don't own a computer."

As the hosts pressed him, Olyphant doubled down on his surprisingly low-tech lifestyle.

The "Five-Star Weekend" actor then explained that while he technically owned a desktop computer, it had been sitting unused long enough to become a project in itself.

"We went… I had a… we went and got out an old desktop computer that we still have in the house and plugged it in and started it up, and they were all USB things."

The aging machine proved to be another obstacle. After digging out the outdated desktop and getting it running, Olyphant joked that appearing on the podcast required far more effort than expected.

"There's a lot of sacrifices that went into this guys," he admitted. "And don't get me wrong, I appreciate ... I'm super honored, and it is a pleasure to be here. I'm a big fan. I listen – I don't listen – but I read the transcripts. And the show's very good. Very, very, very good."

Bateman wasn't ready to let the conversation go, continuing to question Olyphant's aversion to computers.

"But wait, but Tim, you've never been tempted to buy a laptop or a desktop just to see the landscape out there, like all the different sites you can go visit to expose yourself to?" Bateman said.

"Felt condescending," Olyphant replied.

"The Daily Show" host Desi Lydic asked Rapinoe about the red card given to U.S. player Folarin Balogun in their Round of 32 match, which was eventually suspended. Trump admitted to calling FIFA President Gianni Infantino to ask for a review of the red card.

"How do you think that affected the men's team?" Lydic asked Rapinoe.

"Certainly not well, it didn't give them the boost, maybe, that they were thinking it would or that Trump was hoping that it would," she responded. "I don't know. It seemed like it kind of like, threw them off their game."

"I think I was struck by the conditions these folks were being held in," Talarico said.

"When I first walked in, I looked at one of the security monitors and saw these things strewn around the floor, and I realized they were human beings being held in these tiny rooms. The standard I use is: would I allow my child, my parent, my grandparent to be held in one of these facilities? And the answer, after my visit, was a resounding no," Talarico said.

His resurfaced comments continue to raise questions about his views on border policy as he looks to flip a Republican-held Senate seat in Texas.

Like progressives in the party, Talarico has called on lawmakers to "tear down" Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has characterized voter ID requirements as a method to rig elections and, in the past, even criticized President Barack Obama’s record on immigration.

In one 2019 remark, Talarico famously called Obama the "deporter-in-chief."

His past comments have left some observers believing his record makes the case for him.

"There is a very concerning pattern with James Talarico siding with pedophiles, criminal illegal aliens and cartels while slandering the brave men and women of law enforcement who keep Texans safe," Zach Kraft, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee (RNC), said in a statement, referring to detentions highlighted by the Department of Homeland Security.

He raised the issue in the 2019 interview.

"How are we spending close to a billion dollars every year on border security when these border patrol agents told us firsthand they didn’t have the resources, basic logistical items that would help the situation better for them and for the people being held?" Talarico said.

Talarico argued that poor standards don’t speak to individual facility needs but rather reflect broader problems with immigration enforcement.

"This is not a matter of some bad apples at a Border Patrol station. This is a systemic problem that even the Border Patrol agents identified as something morally wrong and something that needed to be solved," Talarico said in an interview.

"I believe this is a statewide problem; this is a stain on all of our reputations. It violates a lot of the values we have as Texans."

Texas spent roughly $800 million on border security in 2019, according to the state’s legislative budget board.

He’s the only candidate in this race to unveil a border security agenda endorsed by Republicans and Democrats that will add more border patrol agents and improve technology at the border to better detect threats. For too long, both parties have failed our border communities by grandstanding on the issue instead of finding real solutions. James is running for Senate to keep our country safe by deporting criminals instead of locking up moms, babies and small business owners who have been contributing to our economy for decades," a campaign spokesperson said.

Having secured the Democratic nomination, Talarico will face Republican nominee Ken Paxton in the Nov. 3 general election.

"Maybe some of you out here are like me. I always feel bad saying that I actually don't want children. I love children, I love my friends' children, I'm a great aunt. But, it was never my dream," the 36-year-old said.

A U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance’s security detail is being investigated over allegations of leaking sensitive information.

"A member of the Vice Presidential Protective Division is the subject of an administrative investigation, and potential criminal inquiry, involving allegations of compromising operational and information security," Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement to Fox News.

The agency would not comment on the specifics of the case, Guglielmi said, but noted that "any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated."

The MS Now report noted that current and former Secret Service agents pointed out that prior vice presidents "eschewed using such expensive government perks for the convenience of their children’s schedule."

Agents said the "off-the-record" (OTR) trips sometimes force them to cancel personal plans and require them to construct security plans in a hurry.

"The detail is tired of them not giving notice on things and making everything an OTR," a person familiar with the detail’s frustration told the news outlet. "[Vance] thinks he can still move around like a U.S. senator."

A Vance spokesperson told Fox News the family is grateful to the Secret Service.

There is no room for compromise."

The frustration among agents reportedly led some to create custom coins and stickers mocking the frequency of Vance's last-minute travel, referencing the vice president's Secret Service code name, "Bobcat."

The Trump administration acknowledged that last-minute trips can arise unexpectedly.

"Most past presidents and vice presidents have not had young children, and therefore the detail has not been presented with this nature of protective mandate," the administration told Fox News.

USA Today columnist Nancy Armour accused the Heritage Foundation of "coming for" Title IX on Thursday, shortly after facing backlash for her controversial Caitlin Clark column.

Armour cited the conservative think tank report titled "Title IX’s Failed Experiment: Why Accommodating Sex Differences Beats Engineered Parity," released earlier this month, which criticized the modern application of the 1972 federal civil rights law barring sex-based discrimination in education activities or programs that receive federal funding.

The report's author, Scott Yenor, senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation's American Citizenship Initiative, wrote that stricter interpretations of the law have enforced rigid equality in school sports to the detriment of both male and female student athletes.

Armour claimed that this signaled the organization is seeking to remove protections for female sports and roll back women's rights.

"Our bodies, our self-confidence, our independence — they’re not going to stop until women have the same rights and opportunities they did before the 1970s. Which were almost none," Armour wrote.

The USA Today columnist dismissed the idea that the Heritage Foundation’s efforts "will go nowhere" despite the law's widespread support.

The Heritage Foundation wants a United States that reflects their White, Judeo-Christian and heteronormative 'values,' and is steadfastly working to eliminate anything that deviates from them," Armour wrote.

She added, "It’s also about enforcing a specific definition of femininity. It started with banning transgender women from sports. Now that that’s been accomplished, the Heritage Foundation and their ilk are going to try and make the rest of us women conform."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Heritage Foundation for comment.

Though Armour suggested that the Heritage Foundation is seeking to eliminate Title IX, Yenor instead argued in favor of reforms to the law that focused less on proportionality in male-dominated sports and more on opportunities for female-centric athletics such as cheerleading, gymnastics and volleyball.

Accused killer's alleged disguises unravel as sheriff releases new clues in month-long manhunt

A Florida sheriff's office has revealed new identifying marks on a fugitive murder suspect accused in the death of a man found buried in a shallow grave, warning that she may have changed her hair and appearance as a monthlong manhunt continues.

Isabelle Johnson, 38, is wanted in connection with the murder of Jason Coulthart, 43, whose remains were discovered June 25 on a property in Freeport, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

"One month of searching for Isabelle Johnson, and our search has not slowed," the agency wrote in a new appeal for tips.

Investigators now believe Johnson has several distinctive tattoos that could help members of the public recognize her despite any attempts to disguise herself.

She is believed to have a rose or flower tattoo on her left hand, beginning below the thumb and extending toward the index finger, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities believe Johnson may have dyed and cut her hair in an effort to alter her appearance.

Johnson has previously been linked to several aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly "Denise."

Authorities say she has ties to Walton and Okaloosa counties in Florida, parts of Georgia and lower Alabama.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office has described Johnson as "cunning" and a "master manipulator," while urging anyone who may be helping her to stop.

"Every lead is pursued. Every tip is investigated. Every day brings us one step closer," the agency wrote. "Someone knows where she is."

Coulthart was reported missing May 24 after he was last seen leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville.

During the missing-person investigation, detectives developed information that led authorities to a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport. Investigators obtained a search warrant and found Coulthart's body buried in a shallow grave that evening, according to the sheriff's office.

The District 1 Medical Examiner's Office later identified the remains through DNA testing.

Five people have since been arrested in connection with the case. Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton and Sandra Leaverton have been charged with accessory to a capital felony after the fact.

Authorities previously alleged that White knowingly helped Johnson evade law enforcement, while Morris admitted providing Johnson with transportation and supplies and misleading investigators about whether she had been at her home, according to local reporting.

Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson has warned that anyone still helping Johnson hide could also face charges.

"If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face consequences," Adkinson said previously. "This is a homicide case. We will not allow anyone to get in the way of this investigation."

A combined reward of up to $16,000 remains available for information leading to Johnson's arrest.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Walton County Sheriff's Office seeking any additional updates on the investigation.

The sheriff's office ended its latest appeal with a warning aimed at Johnson.

An Associated Press social media post about transgender aid workers in Nepal turning to sex work after losing their jobs due to U.S. foreign aid cuts sparked a wave of conservative backlash, with critics arguing the video made the case for defunding USAID rather than saving it.

The AP post said that in Nepal, where "a conservative culture leaves openly transgender people with few legal job options," around 100 LGBTQ aid workers left jobless by U.S. funding cuts had turned to sex work to survive. An accompanying video focused on Rubi Lama, a former HIV outreach worker who said USAID-funded programs had provided free condoms, lubricant and HIV-prevention medication before the cuts.

"When USAID funding was there, condoms were free, lubricant was also distributed … for free," Lama said in the video, adding that HIV treatments, including PrEP, were also available without cost. "But, now it is gone."

USAID later told partners to pause new funding obligations and issue stop-work orders or suspensions for existing awards, while critics have said the review led to major disruptions, staff reductions and the cancellation of critical foreign-assistance awards.

But Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway argued the AP post exposed misplaced priorities, particularly among the media, saying the outlet presented U.S. tax dollars flowing to a "trans Nepalese job protection program" as though it was a good use of public money.

There might be some tough choices to make for wedding guests, and I imagine some brides-to-be were less than jazzed when they learned that their wedding wasn't going to be the only one that day.

But, if you're a would-be wedding guest, this is great.

Now, who knows if every person on the team is invited to all four weddings, but it's reasonable to assume that some will be.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani remained silent for serveal hours on what officials described as an antisemitic stabbing in New York City on Thursday afternoon, choosing to instead post about his millionaire housing tax initiative — even as the attack drew attention from other state officials.

"I have been briefed on today’s horrifying stabbings on the Upper West Side, where an Asian man and a Jewish man were attacked. According to witness and victim statements, the perpetrator yelled "Allahu Akbar" during both attacks. I am relieved that both victims are in stable condition," Mamdani wrote in a statement.

"The NYPD responded immediately and arrested Raul Morales in connection with both assaults—and I am grateful to the officers for their swift response."

The delayed response from Mamdani played into the fears of some observers that his critical stances towards Israel, views shared by many progressives, are feeding into hesitations about supporting Jewish communities in the U.S.

Authorities reported that a 57-year-old man was reportedly attacked near West 84th Street and Central Park West just after 1:30 p.m. local time. He was found conscious and alert with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Investigators later found another 50-year-old man nearby with a stab wound to his torso. He was also conscious and alert and was taken to a nearby hospital.

City officials described the violence as an "antisemitic stabbing," though police have not yet identified a motive or said whether the attacks are being investigated as a hate crime.

Raul Morales, the suspect, is in custody, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) told Fox News Digital.

Even as the incident captured attention online, Mamdani remained notably silent on the attack. Instead, he made a post on his recent housing tax plan, a strategy to dissuade wealthy New Yorkers from purchasing and keeping an outsized number of residences.

"If you have a second home in New York City worth more than $5M, check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs — because you've got mail. Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon," Mamdani wrote at 3:55, almost two and a half hours after the attack.

The owner of a Michelin-starred restaurant in South Korea is facing up to a year in jail and a fine of roughly $13,510 after the eatery allegedly served ants atop its sorbets.

The proprietor of the Seoul restaurant, not identified in court documents, acknowledged serving ants, which are not among the insect species approved for human consumption under South Korea's Food Sanitation Act. The law approves 10 other insect species for human consumption — but not ants, the BBC reported.

The country's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety discovered the violation through customers' social media posts and online reviews mentioning ants, according to reports.

Defense attorneys disputed that figure, according to The Chosun Daily.

Ants were offered as an optional garnish for the sorbet, the restaurant owner's defense argued, and only 60% of diners chose them over other options, including fermented vinegar and edible flowers, the South Korean newspaper reported.
