49ers bring back Deebo Samuel to fill void left by Ricky Pearsall's knee injury: report

The San Francisco 49ers’ receiving corps took an early training camp hit as Ricky Pearsall’s knee injury became a growing concern.

That uncertainty led San Francisco back to a familiar name. Former All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel agreed Thursday to return to the 49ers on a one-year deal worth up to $7 million, ESPN reported.

Samuel's NFL career started in the Bay Area after the 49ers spent a second round draft pick on the South Carolina standout in 2019.

Samuel went on to spend the first six years of his NFL run with the Niners and helped the team reach the Super Bowl twice. He earned All-Pro honors in 2021 when he had 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns.

Samuel was traded to Washington in 2025 for a fifth-round draft pick and had 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns for the Commanders last season.

He became a free agent in March and now will join the Niners to provide reinforcement with Pearsall out.

Mystery stranger vanishes after family says frantic warning saved their lives during devastating house fire

A mysterious stranger is being hailed as a hero after waking a sleeping Las Vegas family, helping them escape a predawn house fire and then disappearing before anyone could learn his name.

The family is now searching for the man they say pounded on their front door, screamed "Fire!" and even grabbed a garden hose to battle the flames before quietly leaving, hoping to thank the person they believe saved not only their lives, but their neighbors' lives as well.

The fire broke out shortly before 5 a.m. on July 5 at the family's home in the Las Vegas Valley.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, homeowner Danna Shabtai said she had gone to bed after asking children across the street to stop setting off fireworks near her home on the night of July 4. Hours later, at 4:51 a.m., she woke to someone frantically ringing the doorbell and pounding on the front door.

"My dog started barking, so I woke up and I stumbled to the door," Shabtai said. "I opened the door and the gentleman was yelling, 'Fire! Fire!'"

"He pointed toward the back of the house, and I turned around and I could see the French doors to the backyard. I just saw orange — like a wall of orange."

After realizing the fire was far more serious than she initially thought, Shabtai said her sister grabbed the family's garden hose and rushed outside to fight the flames while she scooped up her 14-month-old son and ran next door to wake her neighbors.

"I started banging on their windows and their door trying to make noise, like, 'Wake up! Wake up!'" Shabtai said.

She said two women joined her in pounding on the neighbors' door until everyone inside made it out safely.

Meanwhile, the stranger grabbed a hose from the neighboring home and tried to keep the flames from spreading.

"He went to those neighbors' house and grabbed their hose from the front yard, and he was trying to put out their fire," Shabtai said. "So not only did he wake us up, he was trying to put out the fire with my sister."

Shabtai believes the man's actions prevented an even greater tragedy.

"If he wasn't driving by at that time, I don't know. It would have been a lot worse before we would have even noticed or woken up that there was a fire," she said.

The family has since taken to social media in hopes of identifying the mystery man so they can thank him in person.

"You're an angel. You saved our lives, and I'm really thankful for everything that you did," Shabtai previously told Fox 5 Las Vegas. "You didn't have to stop. You could have driven by and said, probably someone already called it in. But no, you took the time, and you woke us up, and you're a hero."

Speaking directly to the mystery man, Shabtai thanked him for stopping when others may have driven by.

"You saved probably two households and a bunch of pets because it would have been way too far gone before we would have realized," she said. "You saved our lives. You're a hero."

Shabtai said she believes the fire began after children across the street continued setting off fireworks despite being asked to stop.

She said she heard debris landing on a neighbor's gazebo and believes she saw a glowing ember drift over a roof toward the neighboring property before everyone went to bed. She believes the ember may have smoldered for hours before igniting the fire, though officials have not determined an official cause.

In a Facebook post after the fire, Shabtai credited the unidentified passerby with saving multiple families and expressed frustration over what she believes caused the blaze.

"This is why you leave fireworks to the professionals," she wrote. "This guy who just happened to drive by saved our lives and our neighbors' lives. Next year I'll be standing outside with my garden hose and hosing down any feral kids lighting up fireworks in my neighborhood."

She later shared a video of the aftermath, writing that while her family was fortunate to remain in its home, others were not.

Fox News Digital reached out to the North Las Vegas Fire Department for additional information about the cause of the fire but did not immediately receive a response.

Spain deploys military after thousands of migrants overwhelm border enclave, at least 9 dead

Spain is deploying its military to the North African enclave of Ceuta after thousands of migrants overwhelmed the territory's border with Morocco, prompting a major security response as officials confirmed at least nine people died during the crossings.

The Spanish government said the Armed Forces will support the Civil Guard in restoring order after local officials warned the city could no longer handle the influx. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska are expected to visit Ceuta as Madrid scrambles to contain the crisis.

The surge marks one of the largest migrant waves to hit Ceuta since 2021, when more than 8,000 people entered the Spanish territory over two days, triggering a diplomatic dispute between Spain and Morocco.

"The situation is absolute chaos," Rachid Sbihi, who heads an association representing Spain's Civil Guard officers in Ceuta, told The Associated Press. "It's not possible to give precise numbers, but there are thousands of migrants crossing."

Video from the area showed large groups of migrants entering Ceuta through the Tarajal border area, with many arriving by swimming around coastal barriers separating Morocco from Spanish territory. Most appeared to be young men, though families with women and children were also among those crossing.

Spanish authorities said Morocco is cooperating with efforts to regain control of the border. Authorities have not identified a single cause for the sudden surge, though Ceuta officials have pointed to a recent Spanish Supreme Court ruling that limits the immediate return of migrants who arrive by sea without due process. Some migration advocates, however, questioned whether the ruling alone could explain the dramatic increase, arguing many migrants would likely have been unaware of the decision.

The crisis has reverberated beyond Spain. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni threatened to suspend Italy's participation in the Schengen open-border agreement with Spain, saying the move would be necessary "to defend our borders and ensure the safety of our citizens."

Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason has filed for a domestic violence restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, 32-year-old Marilyn Maritza Melo Rodriguez, alleging she physically assaulted him, destroyed roughly $92,000 worth of his clothing and threatened to kill him.

According to court documents obtained (via TMZ), Eason says he drove Rodriguez home at her mother's request. After arriving, the two got into an argument, during which Eason alleges Rodriguez punched him in the face with a closed fist.

According to the filing, Rodriguez didn't leave the dispute behind. Eason alleges she went to his Airbnb residence and poured liquid bleach over his prized designer garments, causing roughly $92,000 in damage.

The filing also describes an alleged phone call from one of Rodriguez's associates. According to Eason, the caller warned that Rodriguez would "break both of my legs" and "kill me."

The 25-year-old has averaged 10.4 points and 6.3 rebounds over his career.

Hopper appeared on News24 in Australia to discuss Fauci's decision to invoke his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times during his congressional hearing Wednesday, refusing to answer any questions.

Before reacting to Fauci's hearing, the independent journalist, who previously worked for CBS News Los Angeles until 2022, gave her own history reporting on Fauci and how he was deified by the mainstream media.

And I got in trouble and pulled off air for a couple of days because I started questioning him.

"You weren't supposed to question the agenda and the narrative at that point. And I apologized, and I went back on air covering what I was supposed to do as I've mentioned before on here. I was their puppet on mainstream media for so many years. Hopefully, more and more people are waking up to, you know, really, the lack of journalistic integrity that we're seeing."

"The six feet apart thing that he made up, wearing masks outside with not a single soul around us, you know, there were so many questions that were left unanswered and … let me give him the benefit of the doubt.

"That first year, many of us — we had no idea what was going on, but then when we started to learn more and more and started to really use journalistic integrity, which maybe that’s just been thrown out the window … news agencies jumped on the bandwagon with him and just feared so many Americans."

"Cristina was a devoted wife, mother and friend whose strength, grace and resilience touched all who knew her. She was a constant source of love and support to Jeff, their family and the broader Falcons community.

Ulbrich became the Falcons’ defensive coordinator last season after serving in the same role with the New York Jets since 2021.

It’s his second stint with the Falcons, the team he joined in 2015 to become a linebackers coach. He was a part of the infamous loss in the 2017 Super Bowl, when the New England Patriots stormed back from a 28-3 deficit to defeat the Falcons in overtime to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

In 2020, Ulbrich was promoted to assistant head coach and linebackers coach, and in October of that year, he was named defensive coordinator under interim head coach Raheem Morris.

Ulbrich eventually joined Robert Saleh in New York in 2021, and, in 2024, he was named interim head coach after the Jets fired Saleh. Ulbrich finished 3-9 as interim head coach that year before rejoining Morris, who was named full-time head coach, last season to serve as his defensive coordinator.

Morris was fired after one season, but the Falcons kept Ulbrich in his role while hiring Kevin Stefanski as their next head coach for the 2026 season.

Nancy Guthrie update: DNA couldn't be profiled from crime scene hair sample, sheriff says

TUCSON, Ariz. — Investigators couldn't obtain a DNA profile from a hair sample recovered inside Nancy Guthrie’s home, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Fox News Digital in a new interview Thursday as the case nears its six-month mark.

"Yes, there was a hair. We had it and thought, 'OK, well, we'll do the DNA first,' right? You're going to do DNA before something else," he explained.

Working with the FBI, investigators sent the sample to a California laboratory for additional DNA testing.

"It came back ... there's no DNA," Nanos said. "But does that mean the hair isn't that of the suspect? We won't know that till we have the suspect's hair. You don't just destroy it."

Investigators have preserved the sample, and it still may be of use later, he added.

"There's other things that hair may prove valuable for, but right now it was just about, 'Is there any DNA there?' And the answer was no," the sheriff said. "That was just a matter of weeks ago."

Guthrie is the 84-year-old mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie. She will have been missing for six months on Saturday.

Nanos indicated the hair was only one part of the broader DNA work underway, though he did not specify how many other samples are being tested.

DNA testing remains a priority in the case, and Nanos said investigators continue working with multiple crime labs to analyze evidence collected from the home.

"Anything we can grasp onto with DNA is a part of this investigation," he said.

That includes investigative genetic genealogy research, which is used to generate leads from a family tree. He noted rapid advances in DNA technology.

At least one suspect was recorded by Guthrie's Nest doorbell camera. According to the FBI, he is between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a mask, long sleeves and gloves, and the backpack he carried has been identified as a black Ozark Trail bag.

The family is urging anyone with information to dial 1-800-CALL-FBI.

EXCLUSIVE: While Massachusetts boasts some of the premier hospitals in the world, it also suffers from some of the highest healthcare costs in America.

GOP gubernatorial candidate Mike Minogue believes that is no coincidence.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the former longtime medical devices CEO says the commonwealth can boost access, cut costs and reduce regulation through innovation as opposed to government mandates.

"I think the most important thing that can help health care is to have a 'patients first mindset.' When I was the CEO of Abiomed, everyone rallied around the patients-first culture, commitment and every action.

"Every decision that we took really was focused on, ‘Does this improve the patient outcome? Does this help the physicians and the nurses make it easier to use? Does it help us save money for the system?’"

He cited the weighty regulatory burden imposed on nurses and doctors as part of the problem.

"We [must] have a focus that we're really going through areas that allow for patients to get access to their physicians, their nurses, and also utilize innovation, things that are breakthrough and things that can minimize the burden on the physicians and the nurses with regulations and documentation.

"I'm optimistic because I've seen it firsthand. I've worked with healthcare systems all over the world. I specifically know how hard physicians and nurses work, and they're the heart of that system. So, what we're going to focus on is a patients-first health care plan that brings access to quality, affordable care."

Healthcare is a top concern for Bay State voters, and Minogue hopes to use the issue to his advantage in a tough battle to challenge incumbent Democrat Gov. Maura Healey.

He notes that the often stark disparity between healthcare access and quality between the metro Boston area and the rest of the state is a perpetual problem that needs a remedy.

"Right now, if you look at what's happening around Massachusetts, we're losing innovation and treatment in areas that do not now have opportunity for high-risk procedures, whether it's maternity, cardiac or stroke.

"We have areas now in communities that might have a 50-plus minute drive to get to the nearest area. An example is Norwood. The hospital closed. So, if you have a cardiac event in Norwood, you're looking at a 55-minute-plus drive at best to get to Boston."

Minogue promises that, during his tenure, he will work to improve coverage and care statewide.

"This is the role of the governor — to provide hub-and-spoke innovation in healthcare for the whole commonwealth, not just Boston."

Yet, Minogue argues, the current system poses not merely a geographic problem, but a fiscal one.

"Our regulations strangle the rest of the commonwealth and almost mandate that all procedures are being done in Boston in the highest-cost environment. If you go to outpatient centers and surgery centers, you reduce the cost of procedures, you lower the overhead and it's a much easier process than driving all the way into Boston. We have incredible hospitals here, but we also have some of the lowest numbers of outpatient clinics and surgery centers as a state. We need to improve that."

Given his business background, Minogue is intimately familiar with the economics of providing healthcare coverage for thousands of families.

"As a CEO, I bought health insurance for 19 years for my employees. I never saw an increase that wasn't double-digit every year. … We need to lower the costs.

"We also have to minimize mandating every single treatment and procedure onto every healthcare plan. We need to allow people to have the ability to select what care they want."

Minogue believes patients should have more flexibility in choosing their coverage while ensuring families are protected from financially devastating medical emergencies.

"We do need to cap the catastrophic. … At Abiomed, what we did every year is we paid the extra amount so that we would always cap what it would cost the patient. We combined that with a health savings account, which is a great way for people to take more control over their own healthcare plan. Everything that you do in a patient's first mindset solves a lot of problems."

With a mental health crisis surging across the state, Minogue has a solution for matching patients and therapists.

"We do have an extensive amount of counselors, but most of them are on private pay. … We don't allow general practitioners or counselors to get paid outside of private pay, so that's why most of these patients are going to the emergency rooms.

"It would be simple and more efficient if we also allowed the subsidized government pay to allow those patients to see the same people in the clinics that private-pay people have access to."

Minogue's plan has specific provisions for addressing an area where the mental health crisis has been particularly acute.

"One of the areas that I'm most focused on for mental health or PTSD is our correctional facility officers in Massachusetts have some of the highest suicide rates in America.

"We know veterans with PTSD also have high suicide rates. These people are all ending up in emergency rooms, and that's not a very good solution."

Hands-on experience with frontline healthcare workers is what Minogue believes gives his plan the credibility to set the Bay State on the right track again.

"I've been very fortunate because I have a network of physicians and nurses and counselors that have been working with me for months.

"We've collaborated so that we can come up with this patients-first plan.

"If you put the patient at the center of that, the treatment plans can be very specialized for better outcomes at lower cost."

Finally, Minogue has a specific plan to root out waste and fraud, a particularly timely topic following investigations across the nation that have unveiled a costly web of corruption in social services at the taxpayer's expense.

"The most important thing is to recognize that better outcomes and a patients-first mindset actually can reduce costs. … But we have an additional area of cost savings. It's called inefficiency, waste and fraud.

"We'll identify inefficiency, excess and fraud, and I believe we're going to find hundreds of millions of dollars in savings at a minimum.

"I'd like to use some of that money as an incentive on outcomes and make sure physicians and nurses can share in the success of improving outcomes. Great quality will lower our costs."

Minogue won the Massachusetts GOP endorsement at the party's state convention in Worcester and is widely expected to win the Republican primary Sept. 1 to face off against incumbent Gov. Maura Healey.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson accepted embattled Police Chief Shon Barnes' resignation Thursday following mounting criticism over his handling of a deadly mass shooting, his absence from the city and other controversies.

Barnes was asked to resign during a meeting with the democratic socialist Wilson after he abruptly left a silent vigil for the victims of Sunday’s Bite of Seattle shooting, five sources told FOX 13 Seattle.

Wilson's office announced Thursday evening that she had accepted Barnes' resignation.

Wilson appointed Deputy Chief Andre Sayles, a law enforcement veteran with more than two decades of experience, to serve as interim police chief.

"Chief Barnes has served this department and this city with dedication, and I am grateful for his service," Wilson said in a statement.

"The courage and professionalism that the officers of the Seattle Police Department showed deserves to be honored. I share Chief Barnes’ hope that we can return our focus to addressing youth gun violence and ensuring that every family can feel safe in their neighborhood and across the city."

Barnes said in a statement that it had been an "honor" to serve the Seattle Police Department and the city.

"The members of this department show up every single day with professionalism and dedication, and what they did in the aftermath of the Bite of Seattle tragedy reflects the very best of who they are," Barnes said.

Barnes said he remains confident in the department's future and its community policing efforts, while calling youth gun violence Seattle's most pressing public safety challenge.

"I am proud of the work we have done, believe in the direction the city is headed, and have full confidence that the department will achieve success in tackling its most urgent public safety challenge, addressing youth gun violence and preventing more tragedies," Barnes said. "That work is too important, and Seattle deserves nothing less."

Barnes was feeling the heat from the media for his alleged frequent weekend absences, reportedly due to the fact he is originally from Chicago, where his family still resides.

"Those reports are wrong, do you understand?" Barnes told a reporter during a tense exchange earlier in the week.

A staffer stepped between Barnes and the reporter as the chief defended his commitment to the city.

The confrontation followed criticism of Barnes’ absence when gunfire erupted Sunday evening outside the Seattle Center Armory during the Bite of Seattle festival. Seven people were struck, including three who died and four who were hospitalized.

Barnes was in Dallas attending the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives’ annual conference when the shooting occurred. Assistant Chief Tyrone Davis eventually led the department’s first public briefing several hours after the gunfire, a delay that drew criticism from residents and local officials seeking information about the attack.

Barnes appeared alongside Wilson at another news conference Monday and defended being out of town during the crisis.

"I wish that I had a crystal ball, and we could schedule gun violence, but we can’t," Barnes said.

Notably, amid the reports of Barnes' ouster by Wilson, there is an 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. local) protest planned at Seattle City Hall by Black community leaders, including the Seattle NAACP, Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and the MLK Coalition, according to posts on X.

Barnes had been expected to address questions about his travel and residency during one-on-one interviews with local media Wednesday. Those interviews were abruptly canceled, and the department released portions of his calendar instead. Hours later, Barnes attended the 9:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. local) vigil at Seattle Center before leaving for his meeting with Wilson.

The removal represents a sharp reversal for Wilson, who had previously announced that she would retain Barnes and work with him to emphasize professionalism, accountability, compassion and community partnership within the department.

Barnes was appointed and sworn in just a year ago by Wilson's predecessor after a nationwide search, bringing on the police leader from the Midwest to the Great Northwest.

Barnes previously led the police department in Madison, Wisconsin, and held law enforcement leadership positions in Chicago, as well as Greensboro and Salisbury, North Carolina.

After arriving in Seattle, Barnes promoted a data-driven strategy he called "Seattle-Centric Policing," which identified precinct-level crime priorities and emphasized cooperation among officers, businesses, schools, government agencies and community organizations.

Barnes’ departure leaves the department facing another leadership transition as detectives investigate one of the city’s deadliest recent acts of gun violence. A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting, while police continue seeking evidence and other people believed to have been involved.

Sen Mark Kelly warns far-left policies that ‘don’t make sense’ could cost Democrats seats

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., said Thursday during an interview on "Next Question with Katie Couric" that far-left calls to abolish police, eliminate prisons and the border and defund the Pentagon were partly responsible for Democrats' low approval ratings because voters associated those positions with the broader party.

"There are folks out there that say things that just don’t make sense to the American people, like abolish the police or get rid of jails and prisons, get rid of the border, defund the Pentagon," Kelly said.

"Those things don’t make sense."

Couric asked Kelly whether the Democratic Party’s ideological divide could hurt its candidates during the midterm elections and its eventual 2028 presidential nominee.

"It could cost us some seats," Kelly said. "I think that’s very, very possible."

Kelly distanced himself from the party’s left flank, saying voters sometimes attributed its most progressive proposals to every Democratic candidate.

"Some of them, I think, associate it with Democrats," Kelly said. "That’s not the Democratic Party I’m in. Those aren’t the policies I support."

Kelly's remarks followed months of bleak polling for Democratic leaders. A Fox News poll conducted in April found that 42% of registered voters viewed the Democratic Party favorably, while 58% viewed it unfavorably. Sixty-one percent said Democrats were focused on the "wrong" issues.

A Quinnipiac University poll released in May found that 20% of registered voters approved of the job Democrats in Congress were doing, while 72% disapproved. Even among Democratic voters, 41% approved and 50% disapproved.

Kelly issued his warning after democratic socialist candidates scored several prominent primary victories.

DSA-backed candidate Melat Kiros defeated longtime Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., while DSA member Darializa Avila Chevalier ousted veteran Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y.

DSA-endorsed New York state lawmaker Claire Valdez also won the Democratic primary to succeed retiring Rep. Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y.

Kelly said he is "seriously considering" a 2028 presidential campaign and that his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords, was encouraging him to enter the race. He said his decision would depend on his family and whether he believed he could win.

"She’s about, you know, what’s the best thing for the country?" Kelly said of Giffords. "She is all about public service, and everybody needs to do their part.

"If we come to the conclusion that, you know, I’m the right person for this and my family’s on board, and we also consider what it takes."

The Arizona Democrat has also built a political operation capable of supporting a national campaign, saying he had directed millions of dollars to candidates he considered electable while avoiding campaigns centered on unrealistic proposals.

"I have the ability to, you know, raise money. I'm pretty good at that," Kelly said.

"I have raised or given away combined $10 million during this election cycle," he continued. "I tend to steer away from the stuff that is never going to happen, that is just about creating a lot of noise."

Despite the party’s poor image, a Fox News poll released last week found Democrats leading Republicans by seven points among registered voters, 53% to 46%.

The poll also found that 68% of Democrats were extremely motivated to vote in November, compared with 57% of Republicans. Democratic support was the highest either party had recorded on Fox News’ generic congressional ballot since 1996.

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., brushed aside President Donald Trump's threat to withdraw acting Attorney General Todd Blanche's nomination Thursday, arguing the White House must instead honor what he says was an earlier commitment to win his vote.

"That's his prerogative," Tillis said of Trump’s threat to withdraw Blanche’s nomination.

Tillis’ comments come after Trump called out both Tillis and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, on Truth Social Thursday morning for blocking the president’s efforts to make Blanche the nation’s top prosecutor.

Trump then threatened to pull Blanche’s nomination until the two Republican senators leave office next year. Tillis is retiring, and Cornyn lost his primary in his run for re-election.

Tillis argued Trump cannot resolve this nomination standoff "unless we fulfill what we thought was the commitment from the administration."

The North Carolina senator has withheld his support for Blanche unless the administration agrees to permanently eliminate the nearly $2 billion anti-weaponization fund and rewrite Trump's audit immunity language in a settlement agreement. Negotiations over those demands remain ongoing.

"The best thing is, take the win, get Blanche confirmed and get this agreement out of the way," Tillis told Fox News Digital.

When asked what it would take to get Tillis to vote to confirm Blanche, he said, "exactly what Blanche committed to."

"I believe that one of the president's advisors who were part of this agreement is the problem. And they need to own it."

Tillis also pointed out that there is no certainty that the Senate would be any more accepting of Blanche next year, particularly as Republicans have more seats in danger than Democrats in the Senate.

"The best-case scenario is you come back with the same number of people next year, and our members are not going to be any more supportive of this than they are today."

Trump could still keep Blanche as acting attorney general for months even if he withdraws the nomination. If Trump were to pull Blanche's nomination Thursday, Blanche could remain in the role until late February.

Despite Trump's public threat, Tillis said negotiations with the administration remain ongoing and said he is "not a no" on Blanche.

Influencer accused of targeting wealthy dating app matches back behind bars

A Los Angeles influencer accused of targeting wealthy victims before stealing from them is back behind bars after authorities said she allegedly removed her ankle monitor while awaiting trial.

Adva Lavie, 28, who also goes by Mia Ventura, was arrested Tuesday night in Beverly Hills just months after she was released on electronic monitoring while awaiting trial on felony burglary charges.

Prosecutors said Lavie violated the conditions of her release by allegedly removing the electronic monitor she was ordered to wear. A judge has since revoked her release, ordered her held without bail and scheduled a bail review hearing for Friday in Van Nuys.

Court records also show Lavie was arrested on an outstanding Riverside County warrant in a separate grand theft case.

Newly obtained court records show Riverside County prosecutors charged Lavie in April with felony grand theft after accusing her of stealing more than $11,000 in luxury items during the 2025 Coachella Music Festival.

Prosecutors said Lavie failed to appear for her scheduled May arraignment, prompting a judge to issue a $20,000 arrest warrant. As of Thursday afternoon, she had not yet been booked into Riverside County, and no in-custody arraignment had been scheduled.

The Riverside case centers on allegations Lavie stole an approximately $8,600 Rolex watch, Louis Vuitton Aviator sunglasses valued at about $700 and a Louis Vuitton cardholder worth about $1,800 from a man she attended Coachella with.

Investigators said the man invited Lavie to stay with him at an Airbnb in Indio during Coachella weekend. After the pair argued, she allegedly helped herself to the luxury items from his unlocked Tesla Cybertruck before leaving.

According to an arrest warrant, surveillance cameras at the Airbnb captured the alleged theft, and detectives later identified Lavie from the video. Investigators also noted she was a suspect in another theft reported at the same property.

Lavie's latest arrest comes nearly four months after Los Angeles County prosecutors accused her of carrying out a dating app burglary spree targeting wealthy victims across Southern California.

Prosecutors allege Lavie spent years using dating apps and "Sugar Daddy" websites to build relationships with wealthy older men and younger women before posing as a girlfriend or travel companion to gain access to their homes.

Once inside, authorities said, she stole cash, gold, credit cards and luxury designer items from victims in Westlake Village, West Hollywood, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

Lavie has pleaded not guilty to six felony charges, including two counts of grand theft, two counts of first-degree residential burglary and two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information. She was released from custody on an electronic ankle monitor before her latest arrest.

When announcing the case in March, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said prosecutors intended to prove Lavie exploited the trust she built through online relationships.

"At her trial, we will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this defendant exploited trust built through online relationships to gain access to victims' homes and steal from them," Hochman said. "Her ability to deceptively influence others, whether in person or online, has now come to an end."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department previously released a public bulletin identifying Lavie as the suspect in the dating app burglary investigation and published photographs of luxury vehicles investigators said she drove, including a white Mercedes-Benz coupe and a black Porsche SUV.

Fox 11 Los Angeles previously reported that Lavie's fiancé, billionaire entrepreneur Stephen Cloobeck, was arrested on separate felony charges alleging he attempted to dissuade witnesses from testifying against her.

Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese doesn't care about the PR damage control the WNBA is currently going through.

The WNBA was mercilessly criticized Wednesday after sharing, then deleting, a video featuring Reese and Wings player Paige Bueckers.

The league's social media team inadvertently highlighted one of the most sensitive issues in professional sports: gambling.

Reese and Bueckers agreed to a $400 bet ahead of Wednesday's matchup in Arlington.

"Yeah, I’ll be requesting my Apple Pay after this," Reese said postgame.

Critics questioned whether this kind of "lighthearted" banter would ever fly in leagues like the NBA.

Others wondered whether Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham would've received the same treatment. Just look at the firestorm surrounding Cunningham, then ask whether the sports media is holding Reese and Cunningham to the same standard.

Under Section 5(c) of the WNBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement, players are strictly prohibited from placing wagers, directly, indirectly, or even as a side bet, on any league game. Violations give the commissioner broad authority to impose severe penalties, ranging from fines and suspensions to permanent banishment in order to protect the integrity of the league.

The post sparked immediate questions about potential violations of the league's anti-gambling policy, prompting the WNBA to release a statement addressing the deleted clip on Thursday (as reported by OutKick's Mark Harris).

The league characterized it as a "lighthearted exchange" and announced no discipline.

"While the social media post was intended to be lighthearted, WNBA players are well aware of the league's policies prohibiting betting on WNBA games and receive training every year reinforcing those policies," the statement read.

OutKick reached out for comment on its internal decision-making. We have not received a response.

"We recognized that the post missed the mark, removed it shortly after it was published, and addressed the matter internally. We will also use this as an opportunity to reemphasize with the players involved that conversations about wagering on WNBA games, even when intended as a joke, can have negative consequences."

Mamdani's 'this is only the beginning' announcement cracking down on food delivery tips sparks outrage

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing fresh criticism after taking credit for a reported $104 million increase in delivery worker tips that critics say was made possible by legislation enacted before he took office and will likely only exacerbate cost of living issues in the city.

The criticism comes after Mamdani declared at a press conference Wednesday and in a social media post, "We've put $104 million back in delivery workers' pockets," citing changes to Uber Eats' and DoorDash's apps that made tipping more prominent.

"This is only the beginning," Mamdani wrote.

Those changes stem from a city law approved by the New York City Council before Mamdani became mayor. Former Mayor Eric Adams neither signed nor vetoed the measure, allowing it to become law after 30 days. The rules took effect in January under the Mamdani administration, which implemented and enforced the requirements.

The law required the companies to make tipping more prominent, and city officials say the resulting changes have since generated an estimated $104 million in additional tips.

Mamdani's office rejected the criticism that the mayor was taking credit for someone else's work, arguing that while the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection pushed for the reforms before he took office, the rules were implemented under his administration beginning Jan. 26.

"A law is only as good as its implementation," a spokesperson for Mamdani told Fox News Digital. "We have been intentional about enforcing the laws on the books so that we are putting money back into the pockets of working New Yorkers."

Conservatives and political commentators on social media quickly blasted Mamdani for the already high costs of goods and services in New York City, and some accused the mayor of taking credit for legislation that was born before his term.

"This guy is a fantastic lying politician," actor Michael Rapaport posted on X. "He had literally nothing to do with this. City Council passed the bill last August and 419 Eric Adams never signed it. 30 days the bill became law. It went into effect when Mamdani was in office. He just taking the credit."

When couples take wedding pictures, they usually want to get as many as they can of just the two of them.

But, on the off chance an NHL legend happens to come wandering through the frame, well, you might as well get that photographer you're paying by the hour to start snapping.

That's what one couple in Russia did when none other than the NHL's all-time leading goal-scorer, Alex Ovechkin, happened to stumble upon their photo sesh.

The Great 8 was in his native Russia this offseason, and there, he took part in a charity game called the Match of the Year that included a bunch of familiar names from the NHL and KHL.

In fact, this year, Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov scored a slick Michigan move goal that made the rounds on social media.

Anyway, while he was in Saint Petersburg for this match, Ovechkin found himself strolling down a hotel staircase, where a nice couple just so happened to be getting some photos taken to commemorate their big day.

Easily the best part of that video is when you see the blade of the hockey stick come into frame and you know what's about to happen. It's like when Kramer would come sliding through the door and into Jerry's apartment.

Also, the fact that he was just wandering around with a CCM twig in his hands is just perfect in general.

That's how you become an elite goal-scorer, kids: cart the lumber with you just about everywhere.

Ovechkin will be headed back to the States in a little over a month for the Capitals' training camp.

Elijah Bieniemy, the son of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, won’t make a court appearance until he has completed a mental health competency evaluation, court records show.

The 27-year-old was arrested Monday after allegedly shooting his mother, Mia, who sustained "multiple gunshot wounds" at their home in Ashburn, Virginia, Sunday.

Elijah was arrested on charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling, the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

A new court filing has Elijah’s public defender arguing Elijah "appears to suffer from significant mental health issues," according to The Athletic.

The filing also said Elijah "does not appear able to assist in his own defense at the present time."

Elijah’s preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 9, days before the Chiefs take on the Denver Broncos on "Monday Night Football" to begin the 2026 NFL season.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave an update on Mia Wednesday while addressing the media, saying "she’s doing great."

"She’s doing better and great from where she was," Reid said at training camp. "Out of the ICU unit, happy about that. EB is still with her. That part’s important."

After the arrest, Elijah was transported to the Loudon County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

The Chiefs' coaches and the team report to camp at Missouri Western State’s campus Friday after veterans reported Tuesday.

The 56-year-old Bieniemy returned to the Chiefs as their offensive coordinator this offseason following time with the Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears and UCLA.

Hamas agrees to complete disarmament under 'historic' Gaza agreement: Trump

President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.

The diplomatic breakthrough, brokered by his Board of Peace alongside mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, will pave the way for a new Palestinian government in Gaza, Trump said.

"Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

The agreement represents a "major milestone" in implementing Trump’s 20-Point Plan, a framework introduced last year aimed at ending the war and rebuilding Gaza.

The president said the multiphased disarmament agreement marks a "critical step" toward Gaza being governed by a new Palestinian government with the support of the Board of Peace.

He added the city will no longer be used as "a base for terror attacks."

A new police force will also be established in Gaza with the support of the International Stabilization Force, keeping the region "safe for its residents and its neighbors."

Israeli forces will withdraw from the region as the disarmament process moves forward through the structured phases.

"One year ago there was a violent raging war, humanitarian crisis and hostages kept in brutal captivity. We have made historic progress and there is still much work to do," Trump said. "The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild!

"Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its PEOPLE."

Trump further thanked all the parties involved in the historic agreement.

"I want to thank the mediators — Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye — for their important efforts, and especially my outstanding team, whose tireless work made this historic breakthrough possible."

Hours later, the Board of Peace released a statement saying the agreement holds significant "promise" for a better future across Gaza and Israel.

"For the first time, Hamas officially has committed to an actionable plan for relinquishing all its weapons, which will be followed by Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. It holds the promise of delivering significant benefits to the people of Gaza, who have waited for too long for a better future, and security to the people of Israel," the Board of Peace said in a post on X.

The Board of Peace said the next phase will focus on implementation, with Gaza beginning a phased transition toward "full authority," while accelerating efforts to establish the rule of law, improve security and advance humanitarian conditions.

"The agreement concludes months of intensive, good faith negotiations to advance President Donald J. Trump's vision for establishing new governance, security, humanitarian relief, reconstruction, and economic recovery in Gaza as set out in the Comprehensive Peace Plan and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803."

Father who bought AR-15 for Georgia school shooter learns fate in first-of-its-kind conviction

Colin Gray, the father of Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray, was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison after a Georgia judge said he "failed as a parent" by ignoring escalating warning signs before the 2024 school massacre.

Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm sentenced Gray, 55, to concurrent prison terms after telling him "the warning lights were flashing brighter and brighter" before the shooting and that he failed to remove his son's access to guns or get him needed mental health treatment.

"It is clear you failed as a parent," Primm said before handing down the sentence. "The weight of your crimes is tethered and tied to the acts of someone else, your son."

A jury convicted Colin Gray in March on 27 counts, including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, after prosecutors argued he gave his son the AR-15-style rifle used in the attack despite mounting concerns about the teen's mental health. He is the first parent of a school shooter to be convicted of murder.

"They will miss his guidance, his encouragement, his hugs and all the milestones he should have been here to witness — birthdays, graduations, weddings and everyday moments that make up a lifetime will forever be marked by his absence."

She argued that while Colin Gray did not pull the trigger, his failure as a parent and gun owner helped make the tragedy possible.

In explaining the sentence, Primm said Colin Gray's crimes stemmed from criminal negligence because he failed to intervene despite obvious warning signs. The judge said Colin Gray could have locked the family's guns, removed the ammunition or stored the weapons elsewhere while seeking mental health treatment for his son, telling him that, had he taken those steps, "you wouldn't be here today."

The shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County killed teachers Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53, along with students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14. Nine other people were injured.

Prosecutors said Colin Gray ignored warning signs about his son's deteriorating mental health and continued providing him with access to guns, including the AR-15-style rifle authorities said was used in the attack.

Gray is among a small number of U.S. parents criminally charged in a shooting carried out by their children and the first in Georgia.

Friday marks Apalachee High School's first day back for the new school year.

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville warned Thursday that far-left candidates winning elections are a liability for the party at the national level.

A wave of democratic socialist candidates winning Democratic primaries in New York City, Abdul El-Sayed's competitive bid for the Democratic nomination for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat and Francesca Hong's frontrunner status in the Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor have signaled a significant shift to the left for the party.

On the "Politics War Room" podcast, Carville's co-host, Al Hunt, said that while he disagrees with the narrative that the far-left is ascendant or poised to take over the party, he warned that "it could create problems for other Democrats with a hyped-up narrative that the left is taking over the Democratic Party" and the attention on such candidates "really do pose problems for what otherwise is a good Democratic year."

"I agree, and the problem with Michigan and Wisconsin is what happens in the Michigan Democratic primary doesn't stay in the Michigan Democratic primary," Carville said. "What happens in the Wisconsin Democratic primary for governor doesn't stay in Wisconsin, and they're going to be tagged as part of the Democratic Party,"

SCHUMER DODGES QUESTION ON WHETHER DSA BELONGS IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY

While Carville has repeatedly predicted big wins for Democrats in the midterm elections, his mood has somewhat soured in recent months to the point he has proposed a schism to keep the rising far-left flank out of power.

On Thursday, he rhetorically asked democratic socialists, "Why don't you get another name? Why are you dragging our names through the mud with your bulls---? If you don't like it, call yourself something else."

Carville joked that the term "Democratic" can be appropriated even by tyrannical regimes like the Democratic Republic of North Korea and that America’s democratic socialists are genuinely confusing voters.

"If you're so against everything, then create your own name. Don't use our name. Don't be tainted," Carville exclaimed. "But I got to tell you, I hope that voters in the primaries in Michigan and Wisconsin understand you're not just voting for a nominee for Senate in Michigan.

"You're not just voting for a nominee for governor of Wisconsin. You're voting on the image of the entire party, and there's a lot at stake here. And this is not time for a vanity vote. Not at all. And that's what this is — a vanity vote and nothing more."

Hunt responded by recalling that, after the death of George Floyd in 2020, some Democrats embraced the agenda of defunding the police, which enabled the Republicans to paint the entire party with that agenda. He warned that the same could happen with this new wave of democratic socialists’ far-left ideas.

Carville argued that one key policy from Hong would represent "lunacy of the highest level" to the point it would be a liability for other Democratic candidates when Republicans grill them over it.

"The problem we face right now in Wisconsin: This candidate doesn't want to defund the police. She wants to abolish the police," Carville warned. "So, if we had a Republican gubernatorial nominee in the state of, I don't know, Colorado, pick a state, Tennessee — that was advocating lunacy of this level ... and this is lunacy of the highest level you can imagine ... we would be totally justified in taking that message nationally.

"We would be totally justified in saying you've got to ask these people when they make an appearance if they agree with this," he continued. "Well, they're going to do that to us. And I got to say, you go to a person in a tight race — you go to Roy Cooper, you go to Jon Ossoff, you go to Troy Jackson — and you say, ‘Your nominee in Wisconsin said this. What do you answer?’ That's not a chicken-s--- question at all. And you're just opening yourself up for all of that crap."

A college football hero was in jail after allegedly posing a serious threat on a bus in Miami.

Former LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd was arrested after allegedly getting into a heated argument with a passenger and brandishing a blade.

The arrest report, according to the New York Post, said Byrd asked the passenger, "Who wants to die?"

Byrd was allegedly yelling at other passengers, and the person he got into the argument with tried to calm him down. But that was when he allegedly pulled the blade.

Online records say Byrd was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and he was being held on $5,000 bond.

Byrd also has a domestic violence warrant.

He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers but never saw the field.

Hiker's unexplained death exposes deadly alcohol withdrawal risk many don't recognize

When hiker Joanna Ruth Shields, 37, was found dead near Sykes Hot Springs in California’s Ventana Wilderness, initial speculation pointed to foul play, according to a press release from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

However, official coroner's reports revealed her cause of death to be probable alcohol withdrawal seizures brought on by chronic alcohol use disorder.

Friends who were hiking with Shields said she had gone to the river that morning. A short time later, one of them found her unresponsive in the water, according to reports.

"This is a probable seizure that occurred as a result of chronic alcohol use disorder, but there was nothing that stood out that indicated any type of criminal activity," Andres Rosas, commander and the primary public information officer for the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, told KSBW 8.

Given the results of the investigation and forensic examination, no further investigation is taking place.

The incident highlights a little-known danger of severe alcohol dependence, as suddenly stopping alcohol can trigger life-threatening neurological events.

Alcohol acts as a depressant on the central nervous system. When someone drinks heavily over a prolonged period, the brain adapts by ramping up chemical signals to keep bodily systems functioning, according to experts.

When alcohol is abruptly stopped, that blocker on the central nervous system is removed. The brain then enters a state of dangerous overexcitation, leading to severe hyperarousal.

Withdrawal symptoms typically begin within six to 24 hours after the last drink, with the risk of seizures peaking between 24 and 48 hours.

In wilderness settings or isolated locations, a sudden seizure can result in immediate loss of consciousness, trauma, respiratory arrest or an inability to seek emergency care, experts note.

Clinical guidelines from the National Institutes of Health categorize alcohol withdrawal by the following key progression stages.

Stage 1 (6 to 12 hours post-drink)

This may include minor withdrawal symptoms, including insomnia, tremors, anxiety, gastrointestinal upset, headache, diaphoresis (excessive sweating), heart palpitations, anorexia, nausea, tachycardia (abnormally fast resting heart rate) and hypertension.

New Orleans Saints star receiver Chris Olave agreed to a four-year extension worth $132 million with $90 million guaranteed, sources confirmed to OutKick’s Armando Salguero.

Olave was set to play the 2026 NFL season on his fifth-year option, and he was a hold-in at training camp because of it. He wanted a new deal before taking part in practices.

The Saints decided to reward their 2022 first-rounder with his desired extension before potential free agency in 2027.

Olave will remain a cornerstone piece for the franchise alongside new starting quarterback Tyler Shough, who was drafted in the second round in 2025.

This deal marks the highest the Saints have dished out to a receiver since Michael Thomas received a five-year pact worth up to $20 million per season in 2019. At the time, it was a record.

Olave will be making $33 million per season, cementing him as one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.

The Ohio State product earned that during his rookie deal with the Saints, especially last season. In 16 games, Olave notched career highs in yards (1,163), touchdowns (nine) and receptions (100).

Olave started thriving once Shough took over as the team’s starting quarterback, quickly finding chemistry with his new signal-caller, and the Saints clearly believe that connection will lead them to playoff glory once more.

The Saints have not reached the playoffs since the 2020 campaign, though they have sprinkled in 9-8 seasons in there. However, they’ve gone 11-23 the past two seasons, and head coach Kellen Moore’s first year ended at 6-11.

But there were positives that came out of the lackluster record, with the offense being the main highlight. The Saints are excited to see what Shough can do with a full offseason understanding he’s the starting quarterback as well as working more in Moore’s system.

Olave benefited from that system, and the Saints bolstered their offensive weapons by signing Travis Etienne Jr. to their backfield.

With Saints legend Alvin Kamara returning for another season, the running back depth chart is filled with explosive playmakers, while Olave, tight end Juwan Johnson and 2026 first-round pick Jordan Tyson out of Arizona State have this group primed for success.
