Rory McIlroy makes serious accusation about LIV Golf wanting to 'destroy' the European Tour

If there is one word to describe what LIV Golf was, "disruptor" feels like the most accurate fit for the breakaway circuit.

LIV sought to change the landscape of professional golf, and it undoubtedly did for a number of years by poaching some of the best players in the world and operating with unlimited Saudi funding. There is a difference between disrupting a sport and actively trying to destroy a piece of it, and according to Rory McIlroy, LIV was trying to accomplish the latter.

McIlroy, one of the most outspoken critics of LIV, isn't making this accusation out of a place of emotion or general disdain, but from information he claims to have gathered firsthand.

DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings was interviewed by the Scotsman ahead of this week's Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship and stated that LIV was aiming to "destroy" the European circuit. Kinnings went on to explain that he had heard of LIV's mission to destroy the DP World Tour from "so many different people" that he trusts "implicitly."

While saying one business is seeking to destroy another could be perceived as just a figure of speech, McIlroy added a very real perspective when asked about Kinnings' remarks.

"I agree with everything that Guy said. They took players; they took sponsors; they turned professional golf into an arms race," McIlroy, who is teeing it up in Abu Dhabi this week, explained. "They were going around Augusta saying they wanted to destroy the European Tour."

It's no secret that LIV Golf was looking to reach the top of the professional golf mountain, and believed it could, given its bottomless pockets provided by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF). However, it adds a different level of vitriol when the most influential golfer on Earth not named Tiger Woods alleges that LIV officials were flaunting their mission to destroy the DP World Tour.

As we now know, LIV did not destroy the European circuit.

The Saudis shut off the money spigot to LIV Golf just weeks after the Masters in April, before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September.

Democrats weren't the only ones celebrating amid shattering defeats for Republicans in the midterm elections — Iranian leaders also took a victory lap Wednesday.

Iran cast the results — where Democrats made gains even in traditional Republican strongholds — as a rejection of President Donald Trump's war and a decisive referendum on the economic toll it took on American voters in the months before the election.

"The process of the US’s collapse has accelerated," Iran’s current Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, posted on an official English language account on X.

"Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message," Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who has also served as Tehran's chief negotiator in talks with Washington, posted on X.

"If the US govt betrays their public will to serve international paymasters and blackmailers, it will learn our NO comes with a Nightmare," Ghalibaf added.

Khamenei, meanwhile, appeared to signal Iran would dig in its heels rather than negotiate with the U.S.

"The Great Satan [the US] wants the surrender of the Iranian nation. The slightest inclination toward submission would cause the immense capital acquired through the blessings brought by the blood of our martyrs and the sacrifices of the entire Iranian nation to be lost," he wrote in another post on X.

"It would embolden the enemy to launch more wars, and carry out its next acts of aggression."

The declarations came after Democrats seized control of Congress Tuesday night in a political bloodbath for Republicans, delivering a major rebuke to Trump after a campaign dominated by concerns over affordability and the months-long war with Iran that the president repeatedly promised was nearing its end.

When the attacks began earlier this year, Trump said it would last a weeks — maybe a bit over a month. It has now been raging for more than eight months.

Iran was hardly the only issue driving voters to the polls — but the conflict became increasingly intertwined with Americans' economic concerns as the war sent energy prices higher and impacted the costs of gas and most goods.

Polling ahead of Election Day showed deep public dissatisfaction with the Iran conflict.

Trump himself acknowledged after the results came in that Iran "partly" played a role in Republicans' losses, even as he continued to defend his decision to go to war.

Vice President JD Vance was much more blunt, writing in a lengthy X post: "The reason we lost is the war."

"If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so," he continued. "Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest."

Other voices in Tehran also claimed vindication in the wake of the results.

Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad called the Republican losses the "aftershocks" of what he described as Trump's defeat at the hands of Iran, while a senior official in Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's office claimed the war and U.S. support for Israel had brought Republicans an historic electoral defeat.

Trump entered the conflict predicting a short war.

In the opening days of Operation Epic Fury, the president repeatedly said the campaign would take roughly four to six weeks and soon declared U.S. forces were running "substantially ahead" of schedule. American and Israeli strikes quickly eliminated senior Iranian military leaders and battered Tehran's military infrastructure.

But the war proved far easier to start than to end.

Iran retaliated by choking commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway that before the war carried roughly a fifth of the world's oil supply, while launching attacks on energy infrastructure across the Persian Gulf. Shipping through the strait nearly ground to a halt in the early weeks of the conflict, removing millions of barrels of oil from global markets and sending energy prices sharply higher.

Iranian attacks damaged oil and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and elsewhere in the Gulf, further squeezing supplies. By the end of May, more than 1.1 billion barrels of crude that would ordinarily have reached global markets had been disrupted, according to the International Monetary Fund.

What Trump initially described as a matter of weeks instead stretched across much of 2026, as the administration struggled to secure lasting freedom of navigation through Hormuz and Iran retained the ability to threaten commercial shipping and its Gulf neighbors.

The economic consequences followed Americans home.

Oil prices surged after the war began, feeding through to gasoline and other consumer costs just as Republicans headed into a midterm election already dominated by concerns over affordability.

Even after U.S.-led operations restored much of the traffic through Hormuz by the fall, oil flows remained below prewar levels and Iran continued attacking commercial vessels.

The prolonged conflict also complicated Trump's effort to argue that the war had already accomplished its central objectives. By October, the president was disputing that he had ever promised the entire conflict would end within four to six weeks, saying that timeline referred only to eliminating Iran's nuclear threat.

Democrat immediately threatens subpoenas for tech executives in wake of midterms

Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., appeared to signal a desire to issue subpoenas to technology executives following Democrats' capture of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

Responding to a social media post that read "Live televised trials of Big Tech executives when?" Markey wrote, "They are going to need to plant new forests for all of the subpoenas we’ll be printing."

Markey is the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and also sits on the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

Widely viewed as a progressive, Markey has positioned himself as a prominent critic of Big Tech.

And he's been a broad proponent of The Green New Deal, a policy framework that aims to combat climate change.

We have the technology to do it. We have the economic imperative. We have the moral obligation. We just need the political will," he said in 2021.

Markey is not the only Democrat that appears to be eyeing subpoenas.

Markey's victory came amid a broader Democratic sweep as the party captured both chambers of Congress.

Sen. Markey's office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The NBA is back tonight with a major slate and virtually every team taking the floor. Everyone had the day off yesterday for voting day, which is a joke, but whatever. It has been a fun NBA season so far with a lot of exciting games, and some very good plays so far. The problem has been that a lot of the superstars have been injured, so it feels like the teams aren't quite complete, and we are only a couple of weeks into the season. Tonight we have the Timberwolves taking on the Rockets.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 5-3 for the season, but they are without their best player, Anthony Edwards. This team has been turned over to LaMelo Ball for the time being, and we've seen how good a team can be with Ball as the main player. That could be an unfair shot at Ball, considering the Hornets were never really constructed very well (at least until last year). The Timberwolves are going to struggle without Edwards in their lineup, but the key to a good team is depth anyway.

Minnesota has won two of the past three games and is 2-2 without Edwards this year. They lost to Golden State and then lost to San Antonio. Their two wins were against the Bucks and the Clippers, both teams that are expected to be some of the worst in basketball. In order to win this game, the team will need to rely on their defense and likely on Rudy Gobert to use his advantage down low. Gobert has struggled this season, averaging just 7.4 points per game. He is still collecting rebounds, but he needs to score more with Edwards out.

The Houston Rockets look like one of the best teams in basketball. They are off to a great start with a 7-1 record, and despite Kevin Durant being rather short with media members, it seems like the team is gelling. I said this last year, but the team seemed like they were a point guard away from figuring out their offense. Fred VanVleet's return seems to have made their offense more efficient and effective. I also like the bench with Marcus Smart, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Steven Adams. Adams is out for this game, but the team still has depth and skill basically everywhere.

Alperen Sengun has been awesome this season as well. Sengun is someone the Rockets viewed as a potential mini-Jokic, and this year, he is averaging 23.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. They are 6-0 this season when he plays. He still is a bit of an issue on defense and regularly finds himself in foul trouble. Durant will still be the go-to guy, but there are plenty of guys who make a difference. If the Rockets are hitting shots and moving the ball, they might be the best team in the league.

I liked the under on this game, but I'm not going to take it any longer; it has already lowered by three points, and I think that the over might actually be the right side at this point. The Rockets are the better team, and their depth will be a problem tonight. Ball, the most effective Timberwolves player, is going to be stopped by the Houston defense. Give me the Rockets at -7.5 tonight.

Elite NYC public school pressed for answers after DSA student group backs ‘Intifada Until Victory’

A radical left-wing student group at one of New York City's most selective public high schools is facing scrutiny after signing an Instagram statement declaring "Intifada Until Victory," prompting demands for accountability and questions about what city and school officials are doing to prevent similar incidents.

The Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Manhattan’s Stuyvesant High School, according to an advocacy group, shared the post a day after the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks that saw the murder of over 1,200 people, including American citizens.

The post was also shared by several New York City DSA college chapters, including Hunter College, the New School, City College and Lehman College, according to Politico.

Michelle Ahdoot, speaking in a video shared by the Jewish advocacy movement #EndJewHatred, urged the public to demand accountability from school officials over the student group's involvement in the post.

"This is not okay," Ahdoot said.

The group has called on Stuyvesant administrators and New York City Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels to address the post.

The New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (NYC-DSA) responded to Fox News Digital's inquiry about the Stuyvesant group's involvement in the post.

"NYC-DSA was not involved in the planning or development of this post," NYC-DSA co-chair Grace Mausser told Fox News Digital.

"We also condemn attempts to attack high school students for political reasons," Mausser added.

The statement accused the Democratic Socialists of America’s New York City chapter of silencing students seeking to protest Mayor Zohran Mamdani over Israel. The signatories also criticized Mamdani’s decision to retain NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, describing her as a "Zionist billionaire."

But it was the statement’s declaration of "Intifada Until Victory" that drew particular concern. "Intifada," an Arabic word meaning ‘to rise up,’ is associated with Palestinian uprisings against Israel, including the Second Intifada, when suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks killed a over a thousand Israeli civilians and seriously injured many more, according to the ADL. Some activists use the term to describe resistance to Israeli policies, while many Jews hear it as a call for violence.

Ahdoot, director of #EndJewHatred, told Fox News Digital that the phrase cannot be separated from its violent history.

"Intifada invokes Palestinian uprisings that included suicide bombings and deliberate attacks on civilians," she said. "In this context, ‘INTIFADA UNTIL VICTORY!’ is a call for violence against Jews and has NO place in a public school community."

The involvement of a high school chapter in a statement signed predominantly by college organizations has raised questions about the group's oversight, its relationship with Stuyvesant and what responsibility school administrators have when student political activity generates concerns about antisemitism.

The controversy follows previous reports of antisemitism at Stuyvesant. In May 2025, antisemitic graffiti was discovered in a boys' bathroom, prompting school administrators to condemn the vandalism and introduce additional security measures, according to the school’s student newspaper, The Stuyvesant Spectator. The newspaper reported that further antisemitic vandalism was discovered later that month.

The latest dispute comes amid broader concerns about antisemitism in New York City public schools. An August 2026 report by United Jewish Teachers documented 250 antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents across the city's public schools between Oct. 2023 and July 2026, with nearly 65% involving direct acts such as harassment, vandalism, assaults or threats.

Questions now center on whether the YDSA chapter is officially recognized by Stuyvesant, whether it operates under faculty supervision, what oversight applies to its activities and whether administrators have taken any action since the post appeared.

Fox News Digital reached out to Mayor Mamdani's office, Stuyvesant Principal Seung Yu and the NY Board of Education asking what action, if any, has been taken, who is responsible for overseeing the student group and what steps are being considered to prevent similar incidents. Neither had responded at the time of publication.

Asked about the lack of response her organization received from education officials, Ahdoot said, "The silence from the NYCDOE chancellor, school and central admin and BOE officials is, frankly, deafening," She added, "The lack of immediate action and acknowledgment of the Jewish community’s concerns points to the sheer lack of care and urgency when it comes to Jewish civil rights."

"Students deserve a learning environment free from Jew-hatred, and families deserve to know that school leadership takes their concerns seriously!" she said.

With those questions still unanswered, Ahdoot's message to the public was clear: "Let’s apply public pressure to ensure that this situation gets the attention it needs and deserves."

Black Tiger's legendary legacy comes to Major League Wrestling as 9th incarnation forges his own path

Black Tiger has a lengthy legacy in professional wrestling. The original character made its debut in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as an opponent for the legendary Tiger Mask and has prominently been used in the promotion since the 1980s.

It’s rare that Black Tiger is seen outside of New Japan but the current pro wrestling landscape has allowed figures and characters to pop up in companies around the world. The latest incarnation of Black Tiger (who was previously known as Magnus) performs in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and has made appearances with Major League Wrestling (MLW). He’s the ninth version of the figure.

Black Tiger told OutKick Dropkick in a recent interview that representing the legendary Lucha Libre figure was important for reasons bigger than him.

"It’s very important because it’s not just about me. It’s my company, CMLL, but I also have the opportunity to be Black Tiger," he said. "At some point, I need to represent my culture, Lucha Libre in CMLL, but also I need to represent New Japan Pro-Wrestling. I need to work hard to explain to the world and to explain to the people, not just in the arena, but around the world because everybody knows now MLW has different ways to see every event.

"I think it’s very important to always be in the gym, always train because it’s not just my culture. I am a second-generation pro wrestler. So, I need to represent my company, my legacy, New Japan, all the Black Tigers since the very first Black Tiger like Mark Rocco, Eddie Guerrero. Big, big names in this business. It’s difficult, but for me, always, MLW, CMLL, New Japan, have a special place in my heart. I need to always be ready for the opportunity."

Black Tiger is one half of the tag team known as Los Depredadores with Rugido. The two hold the Mexican National Tag Team Championship in CMLL. Having the belt raises the prestige of Black Tiger but he knows there’s still a lot of work to do to make the figure a household name in pro wrestling circles.

He has big plans for that part.

"I want to do everything," he said. "For me, the first step is to get the Black Tiger name around the world, in the best companies. Now, it’s different because we have internet or different apps to see wrestling. For me, step by step, I try to make the Black Tiger name (known) around the world. I already been in UK, Japan, the States. I would like to be in, maybe, Canada or maybe Australia. I don’t know.

"I just want to make the name bigger. The last Black Tigers are good wrestlers – Rocky Romero, Eddie Guerrero – but maybe they have a bigger name not as Black Tiger. Maybe as Black Tiger, they only work in Japan. But for me, I would like to be around the world with this name. I’m sure I’m going to make it – little by little, step by step."

Getting to the casual pro wrestling fan is on Black Tiger’s list as well.

The average person may not exactly be in tune with the historical lore of Japanese pro wrestling or Lucha Libre. Black Tiger said he was aware of that and hoped to be able to showcase parts of the character’s past that have helped shape it today.

"I need to bring a little bit of every Black Tiger," he told OutKick Dropkick. "Sometimes, in some matches, just get the style of the first Black Tiger, sometimes the No. 3 Black Tiger and also, at some point, for sure, I need to explain to the world who I am. My own style. It’s a little difficult but not impossible. It’s just little by little. I’m grateful to New Japan because they trust me.

"Now, I just need to work hard just to explain who I am. I have the capacity to be in the sky and the stars with the biggest names in the business."

When he was known as Magnus, he appeared on several MLW shows and even took part in last year’s Battle Riot. He and Rugido once held the MLW Tag Team Championship for 55 days in 2025.

But as Black Tiger, he’s ready to make more of an impact on the MLW roster and leave a lasting legacy that spans three different countries and three different companies.

Fox News Voter Poll: 2026 midterm elections usher in a blue wave as Democrats win control of Congress

In a historic midterm election, Democrats swept both the House and Senate, riding a blue wave spurred by widespread voter discontent. The economy, government corruption, war in Iran and increasingly negative views of President Donald Trump's job performance created a perfect storm for Democrats to flip Senate seats in Republican stronghold states.

At the time of publication, Democrats held a 54-seat majority in the Senate and have secured 228 seats in the House. The toss-up Senate race in Alaska remains too close to call at this time.

The Fox News Voter Poll surveyed more than 100,000 registered voters nationwide from Oct. 19 to Nov. 3, 2026, combining online and telephone interviews with in-person surveys of Election Day voters.

After the strong rightward shifts in the 2024 election, this year’s midterms marked a turn back to the left. The electorate remained divided by community type, gender and education, a pattern that has become commonplace in recent elections. Suburban and urban voters, women and Hispanics sided with Democrats, while rural voters, men and voters without a college degree favored Republicans.

Groups that helped power Trump’s 2024 win — namely rural, Hispanic, young and independent voters — moved decidedly toward Democrats.

A pivotal group in his win, rural voters backed Trump by 28 points in 2024. That advantage dropped by 10 points, to just 18 points in favor of Republican House candidates.

Republicans underperformed among rural women. After Trump carried them by 21 points in 2024, Republican House candidates led among them by 8 points this year, a 13-point decline.

At the same time, suburban women marched firmly toward Democrats. Harris won them by a 14-point margin, and they broke for Democratic House candidates by 24 points.

That shift extended beyond community divides. Hispanic voters, who showed surprising support for Trump two years ago, backed Democratic House candidates by 27 points, after breaking for Harris by just 12 points. This was driven largely by Hispanic men, who after narrowly voting for Harris by 2 points in 2024, sided with the Democrats by 15 points.

Young voters also followed a similar pattern. Often considered a reliable Democratic voting bloc, those under age 30 defied conventional wisdom and narrowly backed Harris by 4 points in 2024. Now, they backed Democratic House candidates by nearly 3-to-1.

Young men made a complete reversal in their party preference, going from a 15-point margin for Trump to a 33-point margin for the Democratic House candidates, a 48-point swing.

Slightly more Democrats than Republicans backed their party’s House candidates.

While there was a small amount of defections on the right, the bigger move came from the middle. Independents backed Democratic candidates by 22 points, a 16-point shift from 2024, when they backed Harris by just 6 points.

Within the Republican Party, the divide between MAGA and non-MAGA Republicans widened. A narrow majority of Republicans (54%) considered themselves MAGA, and they voted almost unanimously for Republican candidates (99%). Fewer non-MAGA Republicans stayed with their party (85%).

Beyond the demographic shifts, this was an election cycle marked by voter pessimism, economic frustration and disillusionment with the Republican brand.

Voters cast their ballots with a bleak view of the country in their minds. Three-quarters said they felt dissatisfied or angry about how things were going, while just a quarter were satisfied or enthusiastic.

The anger divides along partisan lines: more than 6 in 10 Democrats were angry with how things were going, compared with 1 in 10 Republicans and more than a third of independents. This is a reversal from the 2022 midterms, when roughly half of Republicans were angry, compared with 15% of Democrats and 27% of independents.

Frustration with the present extended into the future. Half said they expected life for the next generation to be worse than life today, twice the share who expected it to be better.

Voters took those frustrations out on the president. Trump’s job approval stood at 38%-62%, a net rating of -24, and that disapproval was intense. More than half strongly disapproved of his job performance, double the number who strongly approved.

Eight years ago, at the midterm point in his first term, his job approval rating was a stronger 44%-56%, a net rating of just -12.

Even without Trump on the ballot, he was on the minds of many Americans. More said they cast their House vote to express opposition to him than to support him, nearly a 3-to-1 margin.

Part of that opposition came from a sense that Trump did not understand what voters were going through. More voters said Trump prioritized his own personal interests than the country’s.

They also gave him low marks on personal traits. More than 6 in 10 said he lacked the right priorities and did not fight for people like them. Narrow majorities said he was not a strong leader and lacked the mental capability to serve effectively.

The president’s standing was also a drag on his party. Two years after winning unified control of Washington, the Republican Party was -18 points underwater, a -15-point slide from its net rating of -3 in 2024.

The Democratic Party was unpopular as well, but its net rating held nearly steady, from -7 to -6.

Each party’s voters were about equally loyal: nearly all Republicans and Democrats viewed their own party favorably. Independents were more favorable toward the Democrats, with 42% viewing the Democratic Party favorably, while they rated the Republican Party negatively by about 2-to-1.

Views of the party also tracked the views of its leader. Democrats were nearly unanimous in their disapproval of Trump, while about 8 in 10 Republicans approved. Roughly 7 in 10 independents viewed the president unfavorably.

Two years ago, voters gave the Republicans a chance to bring prices down. This year, they said tariffs, inflation and a war in Iran pushed costs higher, and they used this election to call for change.

The effects of inflation were inescapable for the majority, including 1 in 5 who called that hardship severe.

Three-quarters rated the economy negatively, a stark reversal from this point in Trump’s first term, when positive ratings outnumbered negative ones by 2-to-1, as shown in the 2018 Fox News Voter Analysis survey (66% positive, 34% negative).

Almost 7 in 10 of voters who gave the economy a negative rating voted for the Democrats. Among those with a positive economic outlook, Republicans were favored.

Within the household budget, concerns about prices varied little across categories. The cost of gas and diesel was at the top, a worry that followed the Iran war and its effect on fuel prices. Healthcare and groceries were right behind, and a majority were very concerned about utilities.

Voters’ views on Iran were closely linked to fuel costs. In general, about 6 in 10 believed the U.S. made the wrong decision in taking military action, and they backed the Democratic House candidate. Nearly all voters who called it the right decision supported Republicans.

In an exclusive survey by Fox News and NORC at the University of Chicago, voters were asked about various priorities regarding the Iran war. The survey of approximately 3,000 registered voters was conducted Nov. 1–3 by phone and online using NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak panel.

More than two-thirds said it was very important to avoid a prolonged conflict in Iran, while half said the same about stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Ultimately, gas prices took priority over security threats. When asked to choose, nearly twice as many voters preferred ending military involvement to bring down gas prices as preferred restarting military action to stop nuclear weapons development.

More than 8 in 10 Democrats favored ending the conflict to bring down gas prices, as did around 6 in 10 independents. The same share of Republicans, 6 in 10, favored restarting military action. Still, just over half of Republicans saw it as very important to avoid a prolonged conflict in the region, as did a majority of Democrats and independents.

When it comes to higher-than-usual prices, voters were considerably more likely to point to Trump’s policies than to factors outside his control.

A majority said his policies had made conditions in the U.S. worse, while fewer said they improved conditions.

Tariffs were a central piece of that blame. About two-thirds said Trump’s tariffs hurt the national economy and nearly as many said they hurt the economy in their own area. About 2 in 10 said tariffs helped the national economy, and even fewer said they helped locally.

While families wrestled with high prices, voters felt Trump was more focused on his own interests than the people he serves. That frustration extended to the economic system itself: nearly 7 in 10 said it favored the wealthy.

Yet that skepticism coexisted with support for capitalism. More than half of voters viewed capitalism favorably, far more than the third who viewed socialism favorably. Voters liked the idea of the system but doubted how it worked for them.

Government corruption and the cost of living were the two main drivers of the vote, with roughly half calling each crucial. Immigration and the Iran war followed closely, each crucial for more than a third, with AI and data centers further back. Democrats were the favored party among voters who said corruption, costs, Iran and AI were crucial to their vote, while Republicans held their edge with voters focused on immigration.

Frustration with costs and corruption was reflected in how voters saw the state of the country. The economy topped the list of issues facing the country, narrowly ahead of the state of democracy. Immigration came in a distant third, followed by healthcare, foreign policy and crime.

The prominence of democracy came mainly from Democrats, who named the state of democracy as their top issue (48%), ahead of the economy (36%). Independents put the economy first (39%), with democracy close behind (34%). Republicans ranked democracy third (16%), behind the economy (41%) and immigration (27%).

Voters who named democracy and the economy as their top issue backed Democratic House candidates, while voters who prioritized immigration backed Republicans.

Democrats also held an advantage when it came to which party would do a better job handling six of the eight issues tested, though often by modest margins. Their largest edge was on healthcare, followed by transgender policies.

On the economy — the issue voters saw as the most important facing the country — Democrats led by 6 points, similar to their margins on foreign policy (+5).

On government corruption, voters narrowly favored Democrats, but a third did not trust either party to handle one of the top issues facing the country.

Republicans led only on immigration, with a 3-point lead. The parties ran even on taxes and finished within two points of each other on AI.

On healthcare, concern about costs was widespread, and those voters backed the Democratic House candidates. A clear majority favored a bigger federal role in helping Americans get care.

Consequently, they gave the Trump administration poor marks on the issue, with majorities saying its policies made it harder to get the care they needed and made their own costs worse.

On AI, voters approached this new political issue with wariness. A majority said it would do more to hurt society, a consensus reached by Democrats, Republicans and independents alike, while a quarter said it would do more to help. Among partisans, Republicans were the most likely to say AI would have a positive impact on society, at 33%.

At this point, neither party had a clear advantage on the issue: AI drew the highest share, choosing neither party as better able to handle it, and the two parties finished within 2 points of each other, with Democrats narrowly pulling ahead.

Data center construction drew a similar verdict. Three-quarters of voters opposed a new data center in their community. Those who opposed one backed the Democratic House candidates by 28 points, while those in favor backed Republicans by 45 points.

Among rural voters, data centers had emerged as a defining issue. They also split 3-to-1 in opposition to building one in their community.

On immigration, Republicans were favored to handle, but voters delivered a verdict of overreach on enforcement. A majority said the Trump administration’s actions had gone too far, with the rest split between about right and not far enough.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement received mostly negative marks, with a majority of voters disapproving of its job performance. Most voters viewed immigrants favorably, saying they do more to help the country than to hurt it.

Ratings of the institutions themselves were low. Congress drew approval from roughly a quarter, and the Supreme Court drew approval from about 4 in 10.

Voters wanted a stronger Congress. A majority said Congress was not doing enough to provide checks and balances on the presidency, and those voters backed Democratic House candidates by 49 points.

The Fox News Voter Poll is a survey conducted by SSRS with more than 100,000 registered voters nationwide. This survey was conducted Oct. 19 to Nov. 3, 2026, concluding at the end of voting on Election Day. The poll combines data collected from registered voters online and by telephone with data collected in-person from Election Day voters at precincts across the country. Raptors without Kawhi Leonard could struggle to contain Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray in Denver

The NBA took the day off yesterday because they don't think their fans can figure out a way to attend or watch games and vote on the same day. It is genuinely one of the most comical things I find with the league when they do it. No other sport even considers this, and they shouldn't. If we want to mock the WNBA for a 12:30 Finals game on a Thursday (and we should), we should mock the NBA for this type of decision. Still, we have a nice game tonight with most teams back in action.

The Toronto Raptors come into this game with a 4-3 record and are just 2-2 away from Toronto. This is a team that came into the season with rather high expectations. They traded for Kawhi Leonard, and he is once again doing what he has done for the majority of his career: sitting out with an injury. That's a really unfair thing to say about a guy who is considered one of the top 75 players of all time. However, it unfortunately is the reality. The Raptors are 2-0 with Leonard and won by a combined 53 points.

The Raptors still have some good talent on the floor, but their ceiling is much lower without Leonard available. Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Scottie Barnes are a solid combination, but the depth behind them leaves a lot to be desired, especially after the Leonard trade. Jakob Poeltl is listed as day-to-day, and he hasn't played since Oct. 30. Poeltl doesn't play many minutes anyway, but if he doesn't, good luck even attempting to stop Nikola Jokic.

It seems like the Denver Nuggets' championship window is one of those broken windows where you can't really move it up or down on the tracks. They still have Jokic, so the window is at least partially open. A healthy Jamal Murray gives the team a legitimate scoring threat to free up Jokic to be even more effective. Murray is one of the top five guys in the league when he is on a heater. There is no metric I can use to support it, but when he is in the zone, it seems like he is unguardable.

After they won their championship in 2023, the team kind of fell apart because they lost all of their depth. They haven't been back to the Finals since. However, the team has addressed those needs, and I think they're better than they've been in years. Christian Braun is not someone I'd view as a top-15 shooting guard. Cameron Johnson is a solid small forward, and Aaron Gordon continues to do a bit of everything. More importantly, DeMar DeRozan, Tyus Jones and Marvin Bagley III are a solid trio off the bench that should maintain or lead the team when Jokic is out.

The Nuggets continue to be one of the best teams in the league. They are coming off a loss, and despite being just 3-3 for the season, they haven't lost back-to-back games this year. The bigger issue is that I think the Raptors are going to have significant difficulties on defense. Quickley and Barrett can't guard Murray, and Barnes might deal with Jokic if Poeltl is out, but either option is still an advantage for Denver. The line on this one seems like Leonard will play, but he is out for sure. Give me the Nuggets -4.5.

ARI FLEISCHER: A Democratic majority means a mad dash to the left for 2028

Now that the Democrats have taken control of Congress, expect limited action on the legislative front. While Trump’s agenda and his appointments are certainly stymied, the President still has a veto, so nothing happens unless the President wants it to happen.

But that’s not the story you should keep an eye on.

Instead, look out for the influence Congressional Democrats will have on the Democratic presidential primary, which begins now. Recall the last time there was a contested Democratic presidential primary, in 2019 and 2020, a record 29 Democratic candidates declared presidential runs.

LIZ PEEK: THERE MAY BE A SILVER LINING TO TRUMP'S BRUTAL MIDTERM DEFEAT

The earliest was on August 10, 2017, when former Congressman John Delaney (D-MD) jumped the gun and became the first declared candidate, way before the 2018 midterm was held. He was followed by Andrew Yang, who also announced the year prior to the mid-term. They were followed by Elizabeth Warren’s announcement of her exploratory committee in December 2018. Before January 2019 was over, six more candidates jumped in, including Kamala Harris. Bernie Sanders announced in February 2019 and eventual winner, Joe Biden, entered in late April.

Get ready for a repeat this cycle. The 2027-2028 race will kick off now, and it’s likely there will be more than 20 Democratic candidates in the running.

Just as Donald Trump in 2015 broke the Republican Party and ushered in a populist era, the Democratic Party, even after this 2026 win, is about to break. The old Democratic Party is receding, as the newly ascendant, redistributive socialists and progressives push to get their way.

Look for Democrats to push the envelope everywhere. Compromising with Trump is not in the Democrats’ DNA, especially not after the rout the GOP just suffered. The Democrats’ significant majorities won’t shield them from the energy the left has on the party. Democrats run as moderates, but then govern from the left. See Jon Ossoff in Georgia. James Talarico and Abdul el Sayed are not going to vote purple. They’re as blue as you get.

It won’t matter next year if their legislation doesn’t have enough votes to overcome a veto. Passing laws isn’t the goal. Preparing for 2028 is.

The Democrats in 2027 will step into the on-deck circle of governance and politics. If they go too far, they’ll get hit by their own pitch.

REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: A DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY COULD EXPOSE THE LIMITS OF THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA

Medicare for All, the abolition of ICE and cutting off support for Israel are catnip for the Democrats. They will be Democratic priorities, even if the votes aren’t there. Democratic presidential contenders will call on Congress to pass these measures, and Congressional leaders will be pressured by rank and file to take them up.

The filibuster will likely be eliminated, allowing for passage of an expansion of the Supreme Court, statehood for Democratic strongholds, and nationwide billionaire and millionaire taxes. They’ll get vetoed, but in failing, the Democrats will seek to set themselves up for future legislative success.

When President Reagan in 1980 ran on supply-side tax cuts, he supported what, at that time, had been unsuccessful legislative initiatives launched by former Congressman Jack Kemp (R-NY) and Senator William Roth (R-DE) to cut taxes in the late 1970s.

President Obama’s push for Obamacare was made possible by years of Democrats in the House and Senate who unsuccessfully pushed for expansion of health insurance in the individual marketplace, while prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage based on a patient’s prior medical condition.

President Trump’s success in shutting down illegal immigration was made possible by years of Republicans calling for President Obama to secure the border. Obama didn’t do it, but Republicans were ready, and they supported President Trump when he did.

Congress’ mad dash to the left will create a mutual admiration society between the most ardent left-wingers in the House and Senate and the party’s presidential candidates. Candidates will call on the Congress to pass left wing measures so they can define themselves to primary voters, and Members of the House will endorse candidates who support their cause.

The few remaining voices of moderation and centrism among the Democrats will be overrun. They’ll be stampeded as the new Congress takes shape, with Socialists on the ascendancy and progressives in charge. President Trump ended the reign of establishment Republicans in 2016. An equivalent shift will take place among Democrats in 2027 and 2028.

If you don't count any of my tech gear (computers, studio setup, etc.), then the answer is 100% that I don't own anything that cost more than $500. You learn to live lean when you grow up in the unrelenting and downright brutal winters of rural Wisconsin.

Now, having said that, if I wanted to blow $10,000 or more on something to make my life more efficient, I feel like a private chef would be the obvious answer.

It would save me a massive chunk of time. I already eat fairly healthy, but the time that goes into cooking and meal prep could be freed up for other activities, like monitoring geo-political situations around the globe.

Majority of Americans broadly reject socialist ideology even as far left surges to power

Most Americans have a negative view of socialism, according to the Fox News Voter Poll, even as left-wing candidates across the country notched resounding victories on Election Day.

Of the 100,000 registered voters surveyed, 54% viewed socialism unfavorably, while roughly a third viewed the ideology favorably.

Attitudes to capitalism were nearly the exact inverse, with 57% holding a positive view and 32% viewing it negatively.

Voters may be skeptical of socialism, but they overwhelmingly believe the current economic system is stacked against them, with 69% saying the economy favors the wealthy, according to the poll, which was conducted by SSRS from Oct. 19 to Nov. 3, 2026.

TRUMP'S GAMBLE ON KEN PAXTON BACKFIRES AS DEMOCRAT PULLS OFF HISTORIC TEXAS SENATE UPSET

This dynamic — voters rejecting the label of socialism while also believing the rich enjoy disproportionate economic benefits — could explain why Democratic candidates like Abdul El-Sayed won, despite the opposition portraying them as too radical.

El-Sayed, who defeated Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race, repeatedly said throughout the campaign that he was a capitalist who did not support unfettered, laissez-faire capitalism.

"I believe in capitalism. I just believe that capitalism has to be regulated," El-Sayed said in a July interview with CNN's Manu Raju. "We live in a society right now where too many monopolies and oligopolies can buy politicians to get their way."

On top of his antitrust focus, El-Sayed frequently hammered away at billionaires, pledging to pursue taxation policies to make them "pay their fair share."

UNEARTHED SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS CONTRADICT EL-SAYED’S ‘CAPITALIST’ NARRATIVE

Notably, El-Sayed rejected the Democratic socialist label despite supporting Medicare-for-all and routinely campaigning with Sen. Bernie Sanders, the policy's most prominent champion and a self-described Democratic socialist.

James Talarico in Texas is another Democratic candidate who won big on Tuesday after explicitly pairing his strong belief in capitalism with a sharp critique of wealth and income inequality.

"We have got to take on these monopolies, this consolidation, because again, it’s fundamentally anti-capitalist," Talarico said during a CNN town hall in October. "Right now, again, because billionaires can buy politicians, all of the gains in this economy, all of the growth is going to the top. All of the wealth is being accumulated by the top 1%."

The Fox News poll's results suggest that at least some voters who embrace capitalism and reject socialism were still comfortable supporting candidates like El-Sayed and Talarico, who ran to the left of the typical Democratic nominee without embracing socialism themselves.

The distinction is notable given the political landscape El-Sayed and Talarico faced. Both men were repeatedly branded socialists or Democratic socialists by Republicans, but each responded by defending their preferred form of regulated capitalism.

Democrats will hold a majority of the nation’s governorships after a series of victories on election night, shifting control of one of the most influential levels of government in the country to the political party opposite of the White House.

As of Wednesday morning, Democrats controlled 28 governorships to Republicans' 20. Two races, Kansas and Alaska, have yet to be called.

The results mark a significant reversal from the political landscape heading into the election, when Republicans held 26 governors’ offices compared with 24 for Democrats. Democrats needed a net gain of at least two seats to take the majority.

While congressional control typically generates the most attention, governors across the country play a central role in setting state policy, approving or vetoing legislation, managing state agencies and directing responses to major issues, including public safety, education, healthcare, immigration and abortion. They also oversee state elections and frequently serve as the most prominent political figures in their states.

The Democratic gains will give the party greater influence over policy in state capitals across the country, even as Republicans continue to control many state legislatures. The impact of the shift will vary by state, particularly in places where the governor’s party does not control both chambers of the legislature.

The election-night results in gubernatorial races across the country could also play a role in the 2028 election cycle as Democrats will have a broader bench of governors to potentially choose from ahead of the 2028 presidential contest. Governors often become national party leaders, presidential contenders, and prominent surrogates during congressional and White House campaigns.

Vice President JD Vance delivered a blunt assessment of Republicans' sweeping midterm losses Wednesday morning, pointing at the Iran war as the driving force behind the party's election-night defeats.

"But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone," said Vance on X.

"The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. But a data analyst warned him that some Trump-Vance voters were angry and might vote Democratic, even if they still showed up.

Vance said that forecast proved accurate, arguing that defections among 2024 Trump-Vance voters were a bigger problem than turnout. He also cited a pollster’s view that Republicans’ economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough late in the campaign.

The progressive streamer closely tied to Michigan Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed, who was cast as a boogeyman by the GOP during the midterm campaign, threatened jail time for at least two of his conservative online counterparts — despite having no real power to make that happen.

Hasan Piker mocked God as sweeping victories, including in traditional Republican strongholds, rolled in for Democrats Tuesday night.

"WE'RE GONNA PUT YOUR ASS IN JAIL EVERYONE GET MORE WOKE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," Piker said on X, replying to conservative commentator Matt Van Swol, who was bemoaning what he described as a "blue tsunami" on election night.

"YOURE [sic] GOING TO JAIL JIGSAW (for being criminally ugly)," he later said to far-right personality Laura Loomer, an ally of President Donald Trump.

Piker was a major source of controversy on the campaign trail after El-Sayed invited him to Michigan near the end of his primary race, which he ultimately won over establishment Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens, who was seeking a promotion to the upper chamber.

The Los Angeles streamer continued associating himself with the most radical wings of the Democratic Party when he appeared in the final days of the campaign in Minneapolis alongside embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., to rally with her following a raid of her Washington, D.C., home tied to an immigration fraud probe.

Piker was born in the United States but raised in Turkey before returning to America in 2019. He previously said, "America deserved 9/11," praised Mao Zedong and Communist China, said capitalists should be murdered in the streets, and is known for expressing antisemitic sentiments, among other controversial comments.

El-Sayed was asked to condemn Piker on multiple occasions, but refused, instead insisting his campaign was not about a "streamer from California." Still, images emerged of the two partying together on the day of the primary election this summer.

Some of Piker's comments drew condemnation from Democratic Party leaders, including him saying in September that Jews were causing violence against themselves due to their support for Israel.

"The malicious claim that American Jews are inviting violence against themselves is dangerous and antisemitic," House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. said in response.

Piker celebrated Sen.-elect James Talarico's historic win in Texas by repeating a controversial comment from the Democrat that Republicans used to attack him during his race.

The soon-to-be senator was painted as too extreme for once saying "God is nonbinary."

Democrats flipped both chambers of Congress Tuesday night in historic fashion, and hopes from Republicans that far-left elements of the party might hinder their chances in taking back control went unrealized.

So far, Democrats stand at 54 Senate seats after sweeping wins in typically red Texas, ruby-red Kansas and other Republican strongholds like South Carolina.

Votes are still being counted into Wednesday in a tight race in Alaska, that could see Democrats winning yet another seat in the Senate and widening their majority over the GOP.

The outcome of the midterms could have massive implications for the 2028 race, as well, where Republicans will face one of their biggest-ever challenges in trying to flip back the upper chamber.

Political observers will rank the midterm elections of 2026 alongside the epic sea changes of 1994, 2010 and 2018.

It's generally thought that the 1994 midterm, which propelled Newt Gingrich to the House speakership, was the most seismic. That’s largely because Republicans hadn’t controlled the House in 40 years. But 2026 will likely rival 1994, because of how Democrats overperformed in House races in Trump-favored districts, overcame redistricting in Texas and Florida, and won in states like South Carolina and Kansas.

Don't forget that heading into this cycle, 23 of the 35 seats favored Republicans. On paper, this looked like a favorable year for the GOP.

The question is just how large the margins might be for Democrats, and what that means when it comes to working — or not working — with President Donald Trump. The president has signaled he’ll veto extreme measures which come from Congress under Democratic control, but also offered to work together on certain issues.

TRUMP CONGRATULATES DEMOCRATS AFTER DOMINANT MIDTERMS, SAYS HE LOOKS FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THEM

Democrats could argue the vote was a mandate to rebuke the president. Some won’t be willing to work with him at all. Trump is out the door in a little over two years. He suffered historic losses in states and districts which he carried by double digits two years ago. Democrats are already threatening administration officials they'd better "lawyer up," promising a host of inquests into alleged corruption and influence peddling.

Yes, there will be lots of attention on Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed, D-Mich., and DSA-affiliated members coming to Washington like Reps.-elect Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez of New York, Melat Kiros of Colorado, Donavan McKinney of Michigan and Chris Rabb of Pennsylvania. They will push "Medicare for All" and efforts to defund ICE and will oppose money and aid to Israel.

But how much of that truly gets across the finish line?

While Democrats made extraordinary gains in both the House and Senate, they did so with moderates. Newly minted House Democrats who flipped solid GOP turf are the true majority-makers, not progressives. So while hard-left Democrats might pitch bills to pack the Supreme Court or convert Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico into states, the pathways for those measures are challenging. Democrats, regardless of where they reside on the political spectrum, won on a message of affordability. Democrats must show they can move the meter on gas prices and the cost of groceries.

AMERICA SAW THE BLUE WAVE COMING — BUT DRASTICALLY UNDERESTIMATED THE EXTENT OF THE DEM TSUNAMI

Rep.-elect Don Leonard, a Democrat, upset Republican Rep. Mike Carey in central Ohio. Rep.-elect Rebecca Cooke, D-Wis., defeated Republican Derrick Van Orden. Rep.-elect Christina Bohannan, D-Iowa, defeated Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Rep.-elect Fred Wellman, D-Mo., unexpectedly toppled Rep. Ann Wagner. Democrats are just renting these districts for now. They will be in play again in 2028. However, for the first time in years, Democrats have seriously encroached into Republican turf in the Midwest and the South.

That phenomenon is emphasized even more so by the victories of Sens.-elect Adam Hamilton of Kansas, Josh Turek of Iowa and Annie Andrews of South Carolina. These moderates didn’t get there by tying themselves to the Left. They can’t support some of the more extreme themes propounded by progressives and the DSA. So it’s doubtful those left-wing ideas go anywhere.

That sets the table for a schism between moderates and progressives and could spark an internecine firestorm inside the Democratic Party.

This is also about the math.

It's possible that Democrats land more than 240 House seats and build on their current 54 seats.

Let’s say the House and Senate do pass some legislation which President Trump promises to veto. If the legislation is semi-bipartisan, it would only take about 50 House Republicans to join in with Democrats to meet the two-thirds threshold of 290 votes to override a veto. In the Senate, 67 votes are necessary to override. It may be a little tougher to cobble together the votes of 13 Republicans to join Democrats. Trump will always have his allies on Capitol Hill, but Republicans in both bodies may veer away from him based on Tuesday night’s rout.

The next measure of Trump's political influence among congressional Republicans comes early next week. House Republicans must decide who leads their conference in the minority. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is signaling he won't run for minority leader, while sources tell Fox News Digital that Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., plans to announce a run for minority leader, with Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, also seeking the role.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., is signaling he intends to run again as whip.

It’s not unprecedented for a House speaker to accept a demotion to minority leader. House Speaker Joe Martin, R-Mass., was minority leader in the 1940s and 1950s, then speaker, then back to minority leader. House Speaker Sam Rayburn, D-Texas, was minority leader in the 1940s, then speaker, then minority leader, then back to speaker. And, like Rayburn toggling back and forth, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was minority leader, then speaker, then minority leader, then speaker again.

REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: A DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY COULD EXPOSE THE LIMITS OF THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA

Jordan’s pitch for minority leader is simple. He tangled with the Democrats during the first impeachment of President Trump in 2019 and 2020 and during the Biden administration. It’s unclear what Democrats will be able to approve legislatively with their new majority, but Democrats have promised scorched-Earth investigations of the Trump administration: inquests into family members; questions about crypto; alleged pay-to-play schemes with donors, friends of the Trump family and business; investigations into Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Republicans predict it will be brutal.

The question is the mood of the House Republican Conference. After such a loss, do they want to lean on the same team that got them to this point?

Jordan and Scalise are both tight with Trump.

Jordan has been running for years. He’s crisscrossed the country, raising money for candidates, campaigning for Republicans and burnishing his image among rank-and-file GOPers after Republicans ditched Jordan as their nominee for speaker when he lost two votes on the floor in October 2023.

The question is: Whom does Trump want in that job? And, more importantly, does that even matter anymore to rank-and-file Republicans after Tuesday night’s debacle? Will Republicans move to change course? That’s the most significant metric to test the president’s authority in the near term.

Back to the issue of the president wanting to make deals. He may need to make some soon, especially with Republicans while they still control the House and Senate. Government funding evaporates on Dec. 11. That could trigger a shutdown. Keep in mind that Democrats will be in no mood to deal since they will control the keys to the congressional car early next year. And, remember the progressives and DSA members? They’re not even in office yet. But they certainly don’t want to see House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., cutting deals with Republicans in the lame duck when they are on the verge of commanding Congress next year.

Another big issue which is lurking: FISA. Congressional authorization for FISA Section 702 expired in the spring. The program has continued – without congressional blessing. But, the intelligence services have warned Congress that reauthorization is necessary later this month before the spy program starts to be in trouble. Telecom companies have been willing to provide the intelligence services information without congressional approval for months, but that goodwill could soon dissipate.

A football team up by 35 points with a minute and a half to go in the game certainly isn't squandering away the win, and there are plenty of other examples of leads that are virtually insurmountable.

Hockey fans thought they had an idea of what that number was for pretty much the entire history of the sport until last night, when the Montreal Canadiens were absolutely bending the visiting Winnipeg Jets over a barrel at the Bell Centre.

New York Times gleeful over Democrats' huge midterm victories, says it's time to ‘feel pride’

The New York Times editorial board took a victory lap Tuesday night following the Democratic Party's sweeping wins in the midterm elections, insisting that now is the time for Americans to "feel pride."

"In the face of the president’s many attempts to manipulate the midterm elections — through extreme gerrymandering, false claims of voter fraud, efforts to block mail voting and more — tens of millions of Americans responded by turning out and rejecting the Republican Party that has enabled him," the Times’ Editorial Board wrote in the piece, titled "The American People Have Repudiated Trump."

The article went on to list the key races in which Republicans lost Tuesday night, adding that the party "lost because many independents and even Republicans consider Mr. Trump’s second term to be a failure."

"The outcome creates a crucial check on Mr. Trump’s autocratic behavior," the editorial board wrote. "It empowers Democrats to investigate his corruption and law breaking and pass legislation that offers an alternative to his counterproductive agenda. The country already feels changed, and it will in fact be changed in January."

The comments come after Democrats recaptured both the House of Representatives and the Senate, while also winning several key gubernatorial races, in an electoral setback for President Donald Trump and Republicans.

Notably, Democrats netted significant wins in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kansas, Iowa and Texas, where Senator-elect James Talarico — a current state senator — defeated Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in an upset victory.

"We just took back Texas," Talarico told a crowd of supporters Tuesday night.

By Wednesday morning, Democrats were on track to secure a 250-seat House majority — marking yet another unprecedented victory for the party.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, White House spokesperson Lauren Bis asserted that "President Trump was not on the ballot last night," while doubling down on Trump's success in his second term.

"The New York Times Editorial Board endorsed President Auto-Pen in 2020 and does nothing but peddle Democrat talking points," the statement continued. "Despite the failing New York Times refusing to cover it, the President has delivered countless wins for the American people including the largest tax cut in American history, the most secure border in American history, the largest decrease in violent crime in history, and the largest decrease in the cost of prescription drugs in nearly 70 years."

While the editorial board conceded that the country "still faces many long-term problems to which neither party has offered clear solutions," it added that "nonetheless, this is a day to feel pride."

"Aspiring authoritarians often use legislative elections to cement their power and further undermine democracy," the article reads. "In 2026, the American people refused to allow Mr. Trump to do so. The system has held."

The board also praised who it described as "key workers" in the electoral process, patting the backs of "election workers, legal advocates and judges."

"In many states, election officials took specific actions to stop interference from the Trump administration," the board wrote. "Last year, the Justice Department demanded that states provide the federal government with voters’ birth dates, driver’s license information and partial Social Security numbers. Officials, including several Republicans, refused to comply."

The Times concluded by asserting that "the challenges ahead should not overshadow what Americans accomplished" in the midterm elections and that the country should be proud that "election workers, lawyers and judges defended the rules that protect the vote."

"And tens of millions of Americans went to the polls to exercise their most fundamental democratic right," the article reads. "Americans showed that the power to choose their leaders belongs to them. Now they must remain vigilant until officials certify every race and the winners take office."

In light of Tuesday night's election results, Democratic strategist Kaivan Shroff signaled to Fox News Digital that the party's overhaul of traditionally Republican states could signify a significant shift throughout the country.

"The easiest mistake Democrats can make is reading this as America suddenly falling in love with Democrats. It didn’t. Voters looked at the last two years and said, very clearly, ‘enough.’ When Republicans are losing places they should not even have to worry about, that is not some normal midterm correction. That is voters putting a brake on a presidency they think has gone too far," Shroff told Fox News Digital.

Federal investigators found a key piece of the private jet that crashed in Florida on Sunday broken apart and scattered miles from where the plane went down.

The Learjet 60 took off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport around 10:37 a.m., headed for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Just before 1 p.m., it went down in Palm Beach County, killing everyone aboard.

Investigators recovered a part that controls the plane's pitch in three separate pieces, one of them nearly four miles from where the Learjet 60 went down.

NTSB FINDS 'NO EVIDENCE' OF MAR-A-LAGO CONNECTION AFTER FLORIDA JET CRASH KILLS NINE PEOPLE

Investigators recovered the left tail elevator, a "very important piece of evidence," National Transportation Safety Board member Thomas B. Chapman told reporters Tuesday.

Chapman said that pieces of the left tail elevator were found anywhere from 1.3 to 3.8 miles away from the crash site, explaining that it likely separated from the plane before crashing. Investigators will study it to determine whether losing the part helped bring the plane down or whether forces acting on the aircraft tore it loose.

Former NTSB investigator Greg Feith told Fox News that the debris points to an in-flight breakup, possibly caused by one of the pilot's efforts to try and level the jet and over-stressing its structure.

"One of the clues here is that there was an in-flight breakup and that a critical flight control, as the board member said, did come off in flight," said Feith. "You can see that the airplane leveled off at about 8,000 feet for a very short period of time. That may have been one of the pilots trying to control the airplane, level the airplane, and in doing so over-stretched the structure of the aircraft, causing those parts to fail and come off."

A Rivalry Built in One Season

The Flagg vs. Wembanyama story started badly for Dallas. In Flagg’s NBA debut in October 2025, Wembanyama put up 40 points and 15 rebounds in a 125-92 blowout. By the end of the season, Flagg was holding his own, trading baskets with the 7-foot-4 Frenchman and finishing at the rim over him. Flagg went on to win Rookie of the Year. Wembanyama led San Antonio to 61 wins and a trip to the NBA Finals.

That gap between the two teams hasn’t closed yet. When they met on Oct. 24 in Dallas, the Spurs were double-digit favorites with Flagg sitting out, and the Dallas frontcourt was already thin.

San Antonio’s Edge

The Spurs have one of the deepest young cores in basketball. De’Aaron Fox runs the offense, Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle give them two more guards who can create, and Wembanyama spent the offseason sharpening his post game. When the offense runs through him on the block, there’s no one on the Mavericks’ roster built to stop it.

The bigger issue for Dallas is on the glass. If the Mavericks’ bigs are limited again, Wembanyama will have his way on the boards at both ends.

Dallas’ Path

The Mavericks need Flagg on the floor and aggressive. He’s taking on a much bigger role in Year 2, and with Kyrie Irving back in the backcourt, Dallas has enough shot creation to hang around if it can stay out of foul trouble against San Antonio’s size. Keeping Wembanyama off the offensive glass is the whole game plan.

This is the cleanest angle in the game. Dallas’ frontcourt has been depleted, and the last time these teams met, the Mavericks were already shorthanded inside. After winning re-election on Tuesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., told supporters early Wednesday that Democrats' overwhelming victories across the country sent a message to "the bigot in the White House and his friends that we are not going to be a pawn in their game."

Omar referring to President Donald Trump as a "bigot" comes after his repeated attacks on the congresswoman whom he has called "garbage," a "disaster" and a "disgrace to our country." He has also said Omar, who became a U.S. citizen in 2000, should "go back" to Somalia.

Omar won her race this cycle with more than 76% of the vote, continuing her string of landslide general election victories in one of the bluest congressional districts in the country.

The two federal criminal investigations she faces — both of which became public just over three weeks before Election Day — did not appear to dissuade voters in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District from supporting her.

In her speech, Omar appeared to reference Operation Metro Surge, which deployed thousands of federal immigration officers primarily to Minneapolis and St. Paul to carry out removal operations. The operation drew fierce local opposition and large-scale protests, during which two protesters, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were killed.

"When this administration came for Minnesotans, we knew that we could respond by showing up in the streets and protecting our neighbors, but we also knew when Election Day came that we were going to provide an answer by directly rejecting them in the ballot box," Omar said.

Omar also addressed the federal probes examining whether she fraudulently obtained U.S. citizenship and whether there were discrepancies in her financial disclosures, framing them as an attempt by the White House to intimidate her and her supporters.

"When they decided that they were going to come for me, they thought that they were going to find someone who was going to cower," Omar said. Omar shouted out Democratic victories in the Ohio, Maine and Texas Senate races, arguing it proved there had been a backlash against the Trump administration's policies over the last two years.

She concluded her remarks by echoing Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., who said after the Democratic wave that the Trump family should "lawyer up." Come January, Garcia is set to become chairman of the House Oversight Committee, which has subpoena power to compel testimony and obtain documents.

"He said, 'You better lawyer up.' Because your time of harassment is over. It is our time for accountability and transparency. And if you thought that the Democrats took it easy on you in 2019, wait until you meet these kind of new Democrats," Omar said.

Accused Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson's attorneys are again asking a Utah judge to block cameras from an upcoming hearing, this time arguing that President Donald Trump's online post elevates a risk of prejudicing the potential jury pool against their client.

The 23-year-old Robinson's lawyers have routinely objected to the presence of news cameras in the courtroom and failed to convince the judge to block them. They've targeted both still photography and video cameras.

With Robinson due back in court next week, they seized on a presidential Truth Social post from late October.

TRUMP SAYS JUDGE IS 'DESECRATING' CHARLIE KIRK'S MEMORY AMID FIGHT OVER ASSASSINATION TRIAL DATE

"The judge in the Charlie Kirk case is doing a terrible job!" Trump wrote after Robinson's lawyer proposed a trial date in the third quarter of 2029. "This case should be tried within a month, not three years — and it should be over with! The judge is desecrating the memory of the Great Charlie Kirk, while taking forever to ask questions that people already know the answer to. The whole Country is mocking him and our 'Legal' System. JUSTICE FOR CHARLIE!"

In addition to reiterating a standing objection to the court's procedure for challenging cameras, Robinson's lawyers again claimed that "continuing [electronic media coverage] threatens Mr. Robinson's rights to a fair trial by an impartial jury by perpetuating bias in the public against Mr. Robinson."

"The President’s post only heightens the prejudicial impact of EMC at the November 9 hearing," they wrote, claiming that cameras "create an unnecessary risk" that statements made in court can spread without context.

"Such out-of-context statements provide unnecessary ammunition for public commentary, including by politicians, that risks exerting undue pressure on the proceedings," they added. "Even still photography creates risks of prejudicial dissemination and out-of-context interpretation."

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Robinson's lawyers noted that the upcoming scheduling hearing will not include any presentation of evidence or witness testimony.

"Any resultant scheduling order will be publicly accessible, and the proceeding will remain open to the public and members of the press, who may attend and report on it," they wrote.

And although there are no witnesses expected to testify next week, Robinson's lawyers also renewed their objection to cameras "because this Court's procedure for adjudicating the request does not allow any opportunity for witnesses to address privacy or security concerns."

The Cleveland Browns suddenly have an uncertain quarterback situation ahead of their Week 9 game against the New Orleans Saints because starter Deshaun Watson has entered the NFL concussion protocol three days after his last game.

The Browns released a statement Wednesday morning explaining how Watson is now in the league's head trauma protocol:

"Deshaun was cleared by the UNC and returned on the Browns’ next offensive series. As part of the protocol, the team’s medical staff evaluated him again postgame and Monday morning. Both times he showed no symptoms, passed his evaluations, and was cleared.

"On Tuesday morning, he reported to the medical staff that he began experiencing concussion symptoms Monday night and was immediately placed in the concussion protocol."

Delayed concussion symptoms are not unheard of but far from typical, particularly in the NFL because the focus on players and testing is so intense.

Browns backup Shedeur Sanders will presumably get the starter's repetitions in practice as preparations for the Saints begin.

Watson will remain in the concussion protocol until he clears the various steps and that typically takes multiple days, which is the reason there is uncertainty about a starter for the Saints game.

Prominent House Republicans are beginning to fight over who will be President Donald Trump's top defender amid a likely barrage of Democrat-led investigations.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., has begun informing his colleagues that he intends to run for the GOP's top leadership spot after Republicans lost their chamber majority in the 2026 midterms, two sources told Fox News Digital.

One source described his pitch: "His number one goal will be to lead the conference back into the majority. He is a proven and tested leader who is ready on day one. He’s spent his career unifying Republicans, and he is prepared for the big legislative and oversight battles ahead. The conference knows him, how he fights, and that he’s a trusted leader."

Scalise has spent more than a decade in House GOP leadership, but prior bids to ascend to the top spot have failed. That includes his October 2023 bid to succeed exiled former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., when Scalise ultimately failed to get enough support to move to a House-wide vote.

Cleveland’s new backcourt of James Harden and Donovan Mitchell is the kind of pairing that punishes a thin defense. Without Holmgren protecting the rim and Wallace chasing on the perimeter, the Cavs should be able to get downhill.
