Kelsey Plum heads to Phoenix Mercury in blockbuster deal hours before WNBA trade deadline

Kelsey Plum is headed to Phoenix.

The Los Angeles Sparks traded the five-time All-Star guard to the Phoenix Mercury late Saturday night in exchange for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.

The blockbuster deal came just hours before Sunday afternoon’s WNBA trade deadline and sent the biggest available name on the market to a Mercury team trying to make another postseason run.

Plum, a two-time WNBA champion, has not played since June 21 because of a lower left leg injury. She was expected to return Sunday against the Portland Fire on a minutes restriction, though it is not yet clear whether she will be available when Phoenix visits the Chicago Sky on Monday.

The 31-year-old was putting together one of the best statistical seasons of her career before the injury. Plum is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists through 12 games — both career highs — and led the league in scoring earlier this season.

Her time in Los Angeles lasted only a season and a half.

The Sparks acquired Plum before the 2025 season in exchange for the No. 2 overall pick, hoping the veteran guard could help accelerate a rebuild centered around Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson. Seattle eventually used that selection on Dominique Malonga, who became an All-Star in her second season.

But the gamble never produced the turnaround Los Angeles envisioned.

The Sparks missed the playoffs in 2025 and currently sit at 10-17 after losing six straight games. They have gone just 2-9 during Plum’s latest absence and are in danger of missing the postseason for a sixth consecutive year.

Los Angeles also parted ways with general manager Raegan Pebley in July, leaving assistant general managers Zach Knowlton and Nate Nielsen in charge on an interim basis.

Plum was set to become a free agent after the season and reportedly did not plan to re-sign with the Sparks, making her the league’s most prominent trade candidate ahead of the deadline. The New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream had also shown interest.

Instead, she lands with a Phoenix team that appears determined to keep pushing forward despite its own disappointing record. The Mercury are 11-19 and six games behind the eighth-place Liberty for the final playoff spot.

So Plum has her work cut out for her.

She should immediately provide Phoenix with another proven scorer, secondary playmaker and championship-tested guard. She could also take some of the offensive burden away from Alyssa Thomas, who leads the Mercury with 8.3 assists per game.

The move marks only the fourth time in WNBA history that an All-Star has been traded during the season.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio raised concerns about Cuba’s ability to infiltrate and influence top-level U.S. institutions, detailing what he described as a dangerous Cuban spy network that is undermining American interests.

"A failed state 90 miles from our shores that happens to be aligned with adversaries to the United States is a national security threat to our country," he told "My View with Lara Trump" on Saturday.

His comments follow the State Department’s recent release of a 100-page report detailing Cuba’s influence operations in the U.S., linking the nation to Antifa and radical activism while labeling it the "capital of 21st-century communism."

"They actually are an influence and espionage superpower," Rubio said. "If you look at the history of espionage in the United States, Cuba is the only country that consistently has implanted and embedded spies in our system without even paying them," he said.

"We had… a U.S. ambassador, who ended up being a Cuban spy and was recently convicted," he continued. "We've had them penetrate the highest levels of Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)."

Former U.S. ambassador and national security official Manuel Rocha pleaded guilty to and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for acting as a secret agent for Cuba for decades.

Rubio mentioned Ana Belén Montes, a DIA analyst who was found passing American secrets to Cuba, represents one of the "single biggest intelligence failures" and potentially the most serious penetration in U.S. history.

The secretary also told Fox News that Cuba employs networks of protesters across the country to advocate for different causes in an effort to pressure U.S. lawmakers.

The secretary claimed that pro-Hamas, anti-ICE and pro-Maduro protests are all linked to the same network of Cuban-hired protesters.

"There's nothing organic about it. It is funded, it is organized and Cuba is a part of that network and in some cases a critical part of the network," Rubio said.

"And it's a network they will weaponize against us," he continued. "And they talk about it openly, about how they will use that network to pressure American policymakers."

"If you look all throughout Latin America, every communist left-wing insurgency that's destabilized governments across the region, every single one of them over the last 40, 50 years has found its support, its help, in many cases, its birth, from a Cuban influence operation," the secretary said.

Critics of the State Department’s report suggest the report chronicling how Cuba poses a threat to the United States is a scare tactic to potentially justify U.S. military action against the country.

Rubio dismissed Americans who sympathize with Cuba’s one-party communist republic led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

"I know there are plenty of people in American academia and, frankly, in American press that sympathize with the Cuban regime and have for a very long time," he said. "Part of it is motivated by their anti-Americanism and part of it motivated by ideological affinity."

"But it doesn't mean we can ignore this threat," he warned.

GOP Rep Max Miller pushes back against abuse allegations: ‘I have nothing to hide’

Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, went live on X Sunday morning, denying allegations from his ex-wife that he abused her and their daughter.

"They frame me as an abuser," Miller said, saying there is "no evidence" against him.

"No court or agency has even substantiated any allegation against me," he added. "Every single one of these allegations were already investigated."

Miller insists that there is evidence that undermines the allegations against him, and that he will release communications in a public Dropbox folder that he says support his innocence.

"I have nothing to hide," he said.

Faced with a narrow path to winning control of the U.S. House, Democrats are seeing fresh opportunity in a northeast Ohio congressional seat where the Republican incumbent is facing mounting pressure over allegations that he abused his ex-wife and daughter in a bitter and drawn-out dispute with his former spouse.

Allegations against Miller, a White House adviser during President Donald Trump's first term, have been public for years but have recently drawn increased media scrutiny amid an escalating legal back-and-forth with his ex-wife, who is the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio. That has Democrats sensing Miller could be vulnerable in a district he won two years ago with just over 51% of the vote.

Over the past week, they have called for Miller to resign, requested a congressional ethics investigation and suggested more help could be directed in the fall toward his Democratic opponent, union ironworker Brian Poindexter. Buffalo Bills moved on from Sean McDermott but their offseason moves won't be enough for a title

At what point do you give up on a team? When do you say "enough is enough" and make the decision to just believe it won’t happen for a squad?

I’m at that point personally, as I can’t support the Buffalo Bills winning a Super Bowl anymore. Last season had virtually everything break correctly for them, and they couldn’t get it done, so why do we think they will this year?

Last season

As mentioned, they didn’t win the Super Bowl, and they actually lost a playoff game in yet another heartbreaking fashion. The regular season was… odd. They started with four straight wins and looked dominant. They came back in a thriller to open the year and win 41-40 over the Ravens. Then they lost back-to-back weeks to the Patriots (who turned out to be very good) and the terrible Falcons. Their other losses came against the Dolphins, Texans, and Eagles. The Dolphins and Falcons were the only two-score losses they had during the year. They struggled to beat the Jaguars, then lost in overtime to the Broncos.

Offseason additions and subtractions

I think the team also said they’ve had enough as they finally moved on from Sean McDermott. I don’t think you can really blame McDermott for everything, but sometimes you do need to switch it up and get rid of the coach. They hired Joe Brady, who is more offense-focused, and I’m not sure that was their major problem. They added DJ Moore to the team, and he might have his best seasons behind him. They added another guy who might have his best behind him in Bradley Chubb as well.

A team that probably could use help on defense doesn’t seem to have done much to address the issue. The best defense for the team is keeping Josh Allen on the field, I guess. Allen is still elite and will keep the Bills relevant no matter what the rest of their unit looks like. It just feels like this team is being pieced together with randomness instead of a full plan. I want to see them start making moves that will push them ahead, not just keep them winning double-digits and relying on luck and Allen’s magic in the postseason.

I think the Patriots take a bit of a step back, as mentioned, but I really don’t see that happening with Allen under center for the Bills. They still have a tough schedule, but 10 wins does feel like the floor for this team every year, right? They’ve had 11 wins or more every year since 2020. I don’t see that changing here. I think a fun bet for them this year is over 4.5 division wins. I think they split with the Patriots, and they should sweep the Jets and Dolphins which gives you five wins. Since 2020, they have gotten five or more division wins three times. It is +115, so I like that look for them as well.

'Remember the Titans' star Ethan Suplee issues warning about weight loss drug craze

Ethan Suplee pumped the brakes on the GLP-1 craze, warning that the wildly popular weight-loss drugs aren't the miracle fix many people believe they are.

As millions of Americans continue turning to blockbuster GLP-1 medications, Suplee said the drugs are only one piece of the puzzle. Drawing from his own decades-long weight-loss journey, the actor said sustainable success comes from building healthier habits instead of relying on medication alone.

Suplee has been candid about his decades-long battle with obesity. The "Remember the Titans" actor weighed roughly 500 pounds at his heaviest and ultimately lost around 300 pounds through years of diet and lifestyle changes. He has also undergone multiple skin-removal surgeries and now hosts weekly discussions on his show, "LifeLONG with Ethan Suplee," about long-term weight management.

The 50-year-old actor started dieting at just five years old and later, by his own volition, at age 24. "And when I didn't communicate to anyone else, I didn't actually figure out what I really wanted."

After decades of trial and error, Suplee said his own experience taught him there isn't a shortcut to lasting weight loss. While he acknowledged the weight-loss drugs can be an effective tool, he argued they aren't a replacement for building healthier habits.

"As a kid, I wanted a magical diet drug so badly. And now we have what is a magical diet drug," he said. "I think, unfortunately, it's also not a one-stop shop. I think you can hop on a GLP-1 and experience weight loss. You can see the scale go down week over week for a long time without having to do anything else."

"... I think when people imagine their ideal — I don't think the GLP-1s get anyone to their ideal."

But Suplee said the conversation becomes more nuanced for people hoping to reach an "ideal" weight or transform their physique.

"I think for those people, just hopping on a GLP-1 is not enough," Suplee added. "I think it also will require some resistance training to preserve lean tissue ... maybe increase protein a bit ... I just think [they] aren't a one-stop shop."

The "My Name is Earl" star said his own experience ultimately shaped a simple philosophy: There's no single answer when it comes to long-term weight loss. He said lasting success comes from addressing the many factors that influence a person's health and relationship with food.

"I don't think it's ever going to be one thing," Suplee explained. "I think it is partially the amount of food you're consuming, partially the types of food you're consuming, partially how sedentary you are, and partially your emotional and potentially mental behavior and relationship with food."

"There's an ecosystem to everybody's life."

It's a lesson Suplee said became even clearer after he reached his goal weight.

"I found maintaining weight loss to be a hell of a lot harder and more complicated than losing weight," he admitted.

Suplee said he still grapples with the same cravings he experienced before losing roughly 300 pounds.

"If I see an advertisement for McDonald's, I want McDonald's," he said. "I'm hungry. This is true today as it was 20 years ago."

He was quick to clarify that long-term weight maintenance isn't about completely cutting out fast food, including McDonald's.

"But it's not eating it emotionally, not eating it to cure my anxiety, not eating it out of compulsion, and then not overeating it," Suplee added. "Like, these are all the factors I have to deal with to maintain my weight."

When asked what has allowed him to maintain his weight loss over the years, Suplee pointed to a less obvious factor: learning to be honest with himself by opening up to others.

"I found I could become more honest with myself by opening up and being honest with other people," Suplee said. "And I think that really made a huge difference in my ability to maintain this weight loss as long as I have."

Ancient Book of Revelation city gives up stunning secret buried for 1,500 years

An ancient mosaic was recently revealed in a Turkish city long known for being one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

The artwork was uncovered in the ancient city of Smyrna, an archaeological site in modern-day İzmir, Türkiye, according to Turkish state news outlet Anadolu Agency (AA).

Smyrna — along with Ephesus, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea — is one of the seven churches of Asia Minor addressed by Jesus in the Book of Revelation.

Revelation 2:8 states: "To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again."

The mosaic was found during infrastructure work at the archaeological site. It dates to between the fourth and sixth centuries A.D., according to officials, and measures roughly 16.4 by 8.2 feet.

Photos show archaeologists brushing away centuries of dirt to reveal the remarkably preserved 1,500-year-old mosaic and its geometric and floral motifs.

Excavation director Akın Ersoy said the mosaic was first found last year, but archaeologists did not fully excavate the artwork until this year, according to AA.

"In connection with this, we also found traces of the walls that defined the space," said Ersoy.

"We believe that a structure was built over the mosaic during the Ottoman period in the 19th century, and that the new layout was created while avoiding damage to the mosaic floor as much as possible."

The most striking motif is the heart-shaped ivy leaf, which is made of red tesserae, or mosaic tiles.

Though modern people see the heart as a symbol of love, Ersoy said the mosaic was created long before the symbol came to represent romance.

"It was not very clear in the early periods that the heart represented affection and love. We see the heart emerge as a symbol of love in paintings during the Renaissance," he said.

Rather, Ersoy said the heart-shaped ivy leaf was intended to symbolize loyalty.

"The ivy leaf clings to trees and walls," he said. "It came to symbolize loyalty and has been used from antiquity through the centuries."

Archaeologists also uncovered bags, cooking pots and earthenware vessels dating to the late Ottoman Empire and the early years of the Turkish Republic, suggesting the space was reused roughly 1,500 years after the mosaic was laid.

"We can say that the people of that period consciously protected it because there is very little damage," the archaeologist said.

"The space was brought back to life after 1,500 years."

The latest discovery is one of several recent archaeological finds in cities mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

Last summer, archaeologists uncovered a massive Roman council hall in Laodicea, which featured carvings linked to early Christian worship.

Starting Thursday with my Carolina Panthers taking on the Arizona Cardinals in Canton, Ohio, we're going to have football from now until February. That's great news if you ask me.

I'm more than ready for the season. The Panthers ended their playoff drought in true Panthers fashion and despite losing in the Wild Card round, I'm hopeful the team is going to be better than last season's version.

Evidently, this jet ski influencer passed out and ran into a dock

A viral video showing a man riding a jet ski then passing out performing a stunt called a "nose ride" looks like AI. That's the first thing I thought when I watched it.

Not because Dillan Stapler, a 32-year-old jet ski influencer, passed out on his jet ski, but because he then slams into a dock and someone ends up being launched between two of the posts on the dock.

His buddy riding alongside him and recording it all seems to think he's pretending to be asleep at first. He starts to get concerned about Dillan when his warnings are ignored.

Here's the viral footage of the crash and his rescue after he was sent flying through the air before landing in the water.

According to Dillan, this is a move he's done a million times and he's not sure what went wrong this time. He doesn’t remember any of it.

His follow-up on the apparent real accident shows the damage the crash into the dock did to his jet ski. He explains he has some repairs to pay for and passing along some safety tips to all the weekend warriors out there.

Probably the most important tip was to not try the stunts he and his pals perform. Jet ski stunts go sideways, even for the professionals.

Thanks for the support. I have to be honest. It is a lot of work scouting "Insta talent." But it's work I feel is important work. Work that is a part of what helped build Screencaps into the juggernaut it has become over the years.

As a guy who has been known to enjoy a burnt hot dog or two from time to time, I don't mind hot dogs of all kinds. Burned included.

It's hard to tell from his photo, but it looks like it might be a Manhattan (bourbon or rye, sweet vermouth, bitters, cherry).

Southern university requires business suits, bans du-rags and other headwear in new dress code

Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Dr. Mark Brown, president and CEO of Tuskegee University in Alabama, is bringing forward a "professional educational environment" to one of the nation's most prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Students will be required to bring a business suit and shoes to campus for business-like meetings and cannot dress unprofessionally in the classrooms or cafeterias. Head coverings will also be barred, with exceptions for those that serve religious or medical purposes.

"The university has developed a new policy for student attire on campus, classroom attendance, and cell phone use in classrooms," Brown wrote in a message to students. "Tuskegee students now have a dress code for public and professional places."

"The Student Handbook requires students to arrive on campus with a business suit and proper shoes for a business meeting," the message said. "Students are prohibited from wearing revealing clothing in class, to the cafeteria or in official settings like Convocation. They are also not able to wear bedroom shoes, bonnets, or du-rags to class or the cafeteria."

The Alabama school is also restricting revealing and sexually explicit clothing as part of a broader push to prepare college students for the workforce.

"Employers are less forgiving and too often presentation may overrule stellar preparation.

"Tuskegee University continues to prepare the best and brightest for a lifetime of success," Brown added. "With these changes, we want to ensure every student is as prepared as they can be. I look forward to seeing you in August."

Tuskegee’s fall orientation guidance lists business attire for career fairs, meetings, interviews and other professional occasions, but the guidance does restrict unprofessional attire in classrooms, too.

"Hats, bonnets, head scarves, caps, hoods, du-rags, bandanas, sunglasses, and other non-religious or non-medically required head coverings should be removed while in the classroom or cafeteria unless they are required for documented medical, religious, cultural, or University-approved purposes," the Dress Code Policy for Students that accompanied Brown's message read.

"Pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts should be worn in a manner that is appropriate for a professional educational environment. Clothing should fit properly and not expose undergarments or other private areas. Excessively short shorts, swimsuit bottoms, body suits, sleeveless undershirts, and similar casual garments are not appropriate for professional classroom settings," the guidance continued. "T-shirts worn as dresses and sagging pants are not permitted. Baggy or loose fitting pants must be worn with a belt that fits around the waist."

Faculty members will be authorized to respond when students are dressed in violation of the guidelines, though the president’s message did not specify potential penalties.

Some elements of the announcement reinforce standards that were already on the books. Tuskegee’s 2025-26 student handbook required students to dress "in good taste," prohibited sleepwear outside residence halls and barred men from wearing "do rags," stocking caps, bandanas, baseball caps and other headwear inside university buildings. It also prohibited sagging pants in academic facilities.

The revised rules have fueled a wider debate over professionalism, cultural expression and the expectations placed on students at HBCUs. Critics online have described restrictions on du-rags and bonnets as respectability politics that unfairly target clothing associated with Black culture.

Supporters argue that colleges should teach students how to present themselves during interviews, meetings and other professional situations.

Several alumni have defended the university’s approach. Tuskegee graduate Gwen McKinney told NBC4 Washington that the policy was "a breath of fresh air," saying there is "a time and place and a setting for every kind of dress."

"A critical part of being ready for and confident in business environments is being appropriately dressed," Director of the Career Education and Leadership Development Center Walter P. Cooper, Sr., said.

"We know that every workplace doesn’t require business attire – our center includes business casual and casual attire, too – but as our students prepare to enter those workplace scenarios that do, it is important that access to the right wardrobe is not a barrier."

For students that might not have the proper attire, there is The Golden Tigers Community Closet to help outfit needy students.

"One of the key pillars of Tuskegee’s Renaissance Era is our focus on career readiness for our students," Brown said. "Academically, we are equipping our students to stand shoulder to shoulder with any candidates competing for roles in the global economy.

"The Golden Tigers Community Closet is an important way to ensure that every student can also feel confidently dressed when they step into those spaces."

The dress code is part of a larger set of classroom and career-readiness rules being introduced as Tuskegee expects its highest new-student enrollment in 32 years. Cellphone use will be prohibited unless authorized by an instructor.

"Faculty will be empowered to respond to students who are inappropriately dressed based on these guidelines," Brown's message to students added.

"Faculty will also be able to respond to a different classroom challenge – cell phones. Unless directed by the professor, students are no longer allowed to use their cell phones while in class. They should be turned off to eliminate any distraction from the instructor’s lesson."

Fox News Digital reached out to Brown's office and the university for further comment. VP of Stragetic Communications Thonnia Lee confirmed the details of the president's message to students and the dress code here but declined further comment.

The Women’s Pro Baseball League started Saturday with a game between the Los Angeles Queens and the New York Heights but sports fans were seemingly drawn to the festivities before the first pitch was thrown.

Martha Reeves, the lead singer of the Motown group Martha and the Vandellas who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and have one of their hits, "Dancing in the Street," listed in the United States Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry, was among those who were tapped to sing the national anthem before the game.

Reeves, 85, and two other women left a lot to be desired as their rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" was panned on social media. The fans who packed Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois, as well as some of the players were taken aback by the performance.

It was a sour tune to start an otherwise historic night for women’s baseball. It was the first women’s pro baseball game played in the U.S. in nearly three decades.

Mo’ne Davis may have been the most recognizable face on the field. Davis, who captured the hearts and minds of sports fans during the Little League World Series in 2014, started in center field for the Queens. She managed to cross the plate once in Los Angeles’ win.

Queens left fielder and pitcher Maggie Foxx, was 2-for-2 with two RBI. She also struck out two batters.

"When I walked on the field I started crying because of how much this moment meant, and how much it meant to everybody," she said. "It means everything to us."

Heights catcher Denae Benites was 4-for-4 with two RBI on the evening. She spoke about 99-year-old Maybelle Blair throwing out the first pitch. Blair played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which ran from 1943 to 1954 and inspired "A League of Their Own."

"I think that’s pretty incredible," Benites said. "Maybelle’s been sticking with us since the beginning of this journey. She’s paved a path for us, really. ... She’s a special person and I’m so happy that she got to make it out here and do that today."

A Florida man is behind bars awaiting trial after allegedly killing a young woman who traveled from the United Kingdom to pay him to carry out their plan for her to be "sexually abused, tortured, and murdered," court records show.

Sonia Exelby of Portsmouth, England, was reported missing in October 2025 by her family when she failed to return home from a trip to the United States, records show.

Text communications to one of Exelby’s friends suggest she’d regretted her decision and wanted to back out of the deal she’d allegedly made with Hall to torture and kill her, records show.

But it apparently was too late.

Days later, investigators found her body in a shallow grave in a wooded area in Ocala, Florida.

Now 54-year-old Dwain Hall of Ocala, Florida, faces charges of premeditated, first-degree murder and kidnapping. His trial is scheduled for Nov. 5 in Marion County, Florida.

Hatching a deadly plan

In 2023, Hall and Exelby met on a "fetish website" where they discussed "bondage, suicide, and her desire to have someone kill her," according to court records.

Hall, a self-described sadist, allegedly started what he described as a process of "mentoring" Exelby, investigators who reviewed their messages said.

A Facebook page attributed to Hall shows a fascination with Anubis, said to be the Egyptian god of the underworld.

In the year leading up to her death, Exelby offered to "help Hall with money he owed to the IRS," their online conversation showed, according to investigators.

They allegedly agreed that Exelby would pay him $4,000 cash to pay his debt in exchange for his help achieving "what she wanted," court records show. And they allegedly came up with a "cover story," to tell their families, and potentially law enforcement, records show.

After two years of online messaging, the young woman with a love of singing booked a flight from England to a rural area of North Florida to meet Hall, investigators said.

It wasn’t the first time she’d hatched a plan for her death, reports show.

Authorities in the United Kingdom thwarted a 2024 attempt by Exelby to travel to meet "online individuals who would be willing to kill her violently," court records show. And she had "known mental health diagnoses," investigators said.

This time, court records show, Exelby left evidence on her computer indicating that she was "again suicidal and traveling to the United States to be possibly sexually abused, tortured, and murdered by unknown individuals living in the United States."

Exelby flew to Gainesville Regional Airport in Gainesville, Florida, on the evening of Oct. 10, 2025. She had a return flight scheduled for Oct. 13.

Investigators said Hall picked up Exelby in a vehicle and took her to an Airbnb 40 minutes south in Reddick, Florida. She’d reserved it in her name, court records show.

Before picking her up at the airport, Hall purchased gun cleaner, 50 feet of rope, Lume spray deodorant, and sturdy, nylon, parachute cord at a Gainesville Walmart.

After paying for the items, he went back for one more thing—a shovel.

Those alleged details were gathered by investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, who reviewed Walmart receipts and surveillance video.

‘So scared’ and ‘So broken’

On Oct. 11, after spending one night with Hall, Exelby sent "long, and at times disjointed" messages to a friend through Discord, investigators said.

Exelby allegedly wrote that "last night was so bad," and Hall had her "locked in" and had taken her phone because "he doesn't trust me with it," records show. She noted there was poor cellphone signal "in the middle of nowhere."

She fretted about regret and a gruesome choice.

"I thought he'd do it quick and not give my mind time to stew," she wrote. She said she knew it would be her last communication "if I don't take his offer of shooting him," she wrote.

In the messages, she said the person she was with "made her record three disclaimer videos and write a letter to her family because he thought it was ‘funny,’" investigation notes show.

"I'm so so scared I'm so broken and in so much pain all I can do is lay here," Exelby wrote. "I'm sorry I don't even know what I'm saying and I'm trying to be quick and my time’s up."

Missing, then found

On Oct. 11, the same day Exelby messaged her friend, Hall’s bank account for his roadside assistance business charged Exelby's debit card seven times within about 10 minutes.

After Exelby didn’t show up for her Oct. 13 flight home, she was reported missing.

Shortly after, charges to Exelby’s debit card paid to Hall’s business helped lead investigators to him.

On Oct. 17, law enforcement found Exelby’s body buried in a shallow grave in a wooded area of Marion County, court records show. Four stab wounds were found on the side of her body. The label for the shovel Hall bought at Walmart was found in the top layers of dirt, investigators said.

That same day, Hall was spotted by sheriff’s deputies and was pulled over while driving his black Jeep Cherokee on Interstate 75 in the Ocala area.

Before being taken into custody, investigators said Hall allegedly messaged a friend over Facebook about a package he was sending that contained "precious and valuable personal items." "Will need this back in 6 months if this storm passes over with no lingering fallout," Hall allegedly wrote in the messages reviewed by investigators. "Please for the love of shadows don't lose this box."

Investigators later recovered the package contents from Hall’s friend. They found a bracelet and a black, seven-inch, steel knife "designed for piercing and stabbing," court records show.

The knife blade was engraved with the words: "Dorkworf pointy end goes in the other guy." The friend told investigators that "Dorkworf" was "making fun of Hall's use of the Darkwolf name while online."

DNA from blood samples recovered from the knife matched Exelby’s.

Initially, Hall denied to investigators that he knew Exelby, court records show.

But eventually, he described how he’d taken a video of her, but that she "was not behaving right so he deleted it."

Investigators later recovered the video that Hall recorded the same day Exelby messaged her friend. It had been deleted three seconds later, records show.

The 4-minute-and-16-second video shows a bruised, "disheveled" Exelby "sitting on a piece of furniture" in the Airbnb. Hall allegedly can be heard asking her questions and directing her answers, reports show. In the video, Exelby "rarely looks up towards the camera where Hall would be positioned, becomes visibly upset with tears in her eyes, exhales deeply, swallows hard, and is very hesitant to answer Hall's questions," investigators wrote in an affidavit.

When Hall asks Exelby to tell him "why she is here," she responds, "Because I'm an awful person."

When pressed by Hall, Exelby explains, "I've crushed everyone who ever loves me."

When pressed further to say how she "would want to die," Exelby hesitates, then says she wants to be stabbed.

Under his questioning, she reveals that she’s been beaten over the past days. When asked if she was coerced, she silently shakes her head.

Instead, she gave him her debit card to charge. But he was only able to get $1,200 from it after it was declined several times. Hall is being held in the Marion County Jail on six felony charges and could face the death penalty. His legal representative did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

America hits major marijuana milestone as daily weed use surpasses daily drinking

Marijuana is officially leading the pack for the most-used daily drug among Americans.

New data from the 2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), reveals that there are 21.4 million daily or near-daily marijuana users in the U.S.

This surpasses the 19.9 million people who smoke cigarettes and the 17.2 million who consume alcohol.

The annual federal survey of Americans age 12 and older defines daily or near-daily use as consuming marijuana on 300 or more days in the past year. Daily cigarette smokers were characterized as those who smoked on all 30 days of the past month.

The number of Americans using marijuana daily or almost daily rose about 21% between 2022 and 2025 — from 17.7 million to approximately 21.4 million. This amounts to an increase of about 3.7 million frequent users.

The biggest jump occurred between 2021 and 2022 with an increase of roughly 2.8 million users, according to SAMSHA.

This pattern in higher marijuana use is driven mostly by adults, particularly those age 26 and older, rather than teenagers.

Between 2021 and 2025, the number of adults 18 and older using marijuana daily or almost daily increased about 22%, from 17.2 million to 20.9 million.

Although marijuana is now the most commonly used substance on a daily or near-daily basis, alcohol remains the most widely used substance overall. During the previous month, about 129 million people drank alcohol while 43.8 million used marijuana.

Cigarette and broader tobacco product use has been on a decline, decreasing from 20.1% of Americans in 2021 to 15.9% in 2025. Meanwhile, general marijuana use rose from 13.2% to 15.1% during that same period.

A recent report by San Francisco-based workplace mental health platform Modern Health found a concerning increase in the number of workers turning to substances to manage stress, especially THC and marijuana products.

The survey of 1,000 full-time employees in April 2026 found that 63% of the workforce engages in at least one form of self-medication after the workday, while 52% have self-medicated during the workday.

Gen Z is the only generation of workers where THC use exceeded alcohol use after work – 59% report using marijuana products compared to 50% who drink alcohol. In that group, 51% reported using THC during the workday.

Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel said the SAMHSA data reflects a "very disturbing trend."

"Too much attention has been put on the bogus or exaggerated uses of marijuana for pain, insomnia and anxiety, when in fact it increases anxiety exponentially, especially in those with underlying mental health issues," he told Fox News Digital.

"Too little attention has been paid to the growing THC content in all cannabis products, which makes it far more dangerous in terms of mental performance, judgement, memory and all forms of impairment."

THC has been associated with a growing share of fatal motor vehicle crashes, Siegel said, arguing that increased acceptance of marijuana use is "feeding a dangerous trend."

Satellite images show evidence of oil leak spreading from sanctioned vessel near Oman

A sanctioned tanker loaded with crude is leaving a growing trail of oil in protected waters off the coast of Oman, according to newly reviewed satellite images, as experts warn the stranded vessel could break apart during the region's rough monsoon season.

Satellite images reviewed by The Associated Press show an oil sheen covering roughly 20 square kilometers, or about 8 square miles, around Dhofar's Qibliyah Island, part of Oman's protected Hallaniyat Islands. Dark patches of crude have also reached the shoreline. Experts say the leak has worsened in recent days, fueling fears that rough weather could trigger a much larger spill.

"The last few days, the imagery indicates an increase in oil coming out, as the size of the sheen is growing," Wim Zwijnenburg, an environmental expert with the Dutch peace organization PAX, told the AP.

REPORT WARNS RUSSIA USING SHADOW FLEET TO PROBE NATO DRONE DEFENSES

He said the biggest risk is that the vessel could break apart as strong winds and rough seas during the annual monsoon season continue to pound the ship's hull.

The 899-foot, Cameroon-flagged Caroline Bezengi has been stranded off Oman's southern coast since June after its crew reported an onboard explosion, according to maritime news outlets. Reuters, citing maritime security sources, reported the vessel first ran into trouble on June 8 near the Yemeni port of Mukalla, where initial assessments suggested a blast may have occurred. The cause has not been confirmed.

Ship-tracking data reviewed by Reuters showed the tanker had loaded Russian crude at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk before its latest voyage. The vessel has been sanctioned by the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada and Switzerland for allegedly transporting Russian oil as part of Moscow's so-called "shadow fleet" — a network of aging tankers used to bypass Western sanctions imposed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The spill threatens a protected marine reserve in the Arabian Sea that is home to endangered petrels and other rare wildlife. Greenpeace Germany warned that oil has already polluted stretches of coastline and damaged the area's fragile ecosystem.

"With oil apparently continuing to leak and the tanker stranded in a difficult location, there is a serious risk of a much larger oil disaster, with even more devastating consequences for the region's coastlines and marine ecosystems," Greenpeace Germany's Nina Noelle told the AP.

And I got to this place with myself where I was like, 'It's not my problem. I'm putting myself out there. If someone doesn't like what I'm doing, they have the right not to like it.'

"I came to terms with that. And once I came to terms with that, my followers changed a lot. Every once in a while, somebody will say something negative. I ignore it, whatever. For the most part, it's all about love."

"I have a tattoo on my wrist that says 'love,'" she shared. "I've always been about love. I've always come from a place of love. And if we could all do that, what a wonderful place we could be in. If you really mess with me, I don't know how much love you're going to get. But I truly believe in love. And I feel it from my followers. Look, sometimes I'm trying different things on my Instagram page. Not everyone's going to love those things, and you might not get as many likes. But you turn around and boom, my fans are there."

After making a splash in Hollywood, Electra has discovered what makes her feel most confident, and it has nothing to do with looking glamorous. For her, it's being booked and busy.

"I feel the most confident when I'm working, and I've been working a lot," she said. "When I'm working, I'm really happy. It's weird; you would think that by now I'd be over it. But I'm just not. I love it. And the more I work, the more confident I feel. When I'm in love, I feel confident. But I don't have someone in my life right now. But I'm still confident because I'm working."

These days, Electra is happy to pass the red rescue can to the new cast of "Baywatch," which is getting the reboot treatment. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model Brooks Nader is set to star as series regular Selene.

The series was announced by Fox in 2025, nearly 25 years after the original ended in 2001.

"My advice to the ladies is to be in the best shape of your life because you're really going to be out there on the water, and you're going to be doing all of these activities," she said. "You're going to be running through the sand, diving through waves, jumping over waves and diving off boats. You're going to be doing some crazy stuff. So just get into your best shape and be ready."

Republicans are sounding the alarm that President Donald Trump’s demand to cancel August recess could cost the GOP seats in the midterms.

As the upcoming jailbreak from Washington, D.C., fast approaches, Trump’s most-prized legislative push remains stalled. He wants Republicans to stay put until it’s finished, but the political reality says otherwise.

And it comes as Republicans are desperate to get out of the Beltway and sell their accomplishments, rather than their shortcomings, to voters on the campaign trail. The GOP has more to lose than Democrats this cycle, too, with three vulnerable incumbents and a handful of others on the periphery.

Thom Tillis, R-N.C., told Fox News Digital.

"It's the same sort of thought process," he continued. "It's thinking that one branch runs this country and it doesn't. If we don't keep majorities, people are gonna regret it."

Several of Tillis’ colleagues, however, disagree, and want the Senate to stay put until the SAVE America Act passes, be it through the party-line budget reconciliation process or by nuking the filibuster.

Trump’s pressure, the online zeitgeist and the political hot potato of the situation have put incumbents in a tough spot: go home and admit defeat, or stay put and push legislation that so far has not gone anywhere.

For many Republicans, they openly acknowledge that it’s a math problem in the Senate — the GOP does not have the votes to pass the SAVE America Act. Some argue that keeping the Senate in town likely wouldn’t change the minds of those who oppose it.

"If it would make a difference in the outcome, I'm fine with that, but it won't make a difference, which I don't believe it will, that it's an act of futility," Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital.

Both Cornyn and Tillis are retiring — Tillis opted to get out during the tumultuous period that was passing the "big, beautiful bill," and Cornyn was kneecapped by Trump, who backed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over him in a grueling primary battle.

But Cornyn noted that if he was still running for office, he might have a change of heart.

"I don't know how that would come out, but if I was running for reelection, I would vote to stay," he said.

Cornyn’s point is the line that some vulnerable Republicans are toeing. Two Republicans running in tight races, Sens. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, and Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, told Fox News Digital that they have been voraciously pushing for the SAVE America Act.

But, Sullivan said that he didn’t want to comment on the president’s push to cancel recess, while Husted said it was always preferable to be back in Ohio with his constituents.

"But I also have a job here, and if the job requires me to be here, then I'll be here," he said.

Others in less tight races who support the legislation still understand the reality in the upper chamber: without changing the minds of a cohort of Republicans who have voted against it and flipping several Democrats, the SAVE America Act is going nowhere.

"I think to cancel the whole recess would be a problem, but I think to keep us up here another week or 10 days, certainly, I'm willing to do it. I'd stay here till November if I thought it would change things," Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., told Fox News Digital.

But he acknowledged that coming home empty-handed was a problem, too.

"The base would be mad if we don't make the best effort possible to get this voter ID across the finish line," Marshall said.

Iran's war on Americans began decades ago. These families still carry the scars

Nearly two decades before the latest war with Iran, an explosively formed penetrator tore through a U.S. Army vehicle on a Baghdad road, killing Staff Sgt. William Brooks and leaving Sgt. (Ret.) Robert Bartlett with injuries so severe that he says he "died three times."

The weapon was part of a broader Iranian campaign that armed and trained proxy forces to target American troops in Iraq, according to federal court findings. In cases involving hundreds of U.S. victims, judges found that Iran manufactured or supplied the weapons used in the attacks and that the assailants were trained or directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"It cut me in half from my temple down through my jaw, and then took my gunner’s legs off, and then took the top of my truck commander’s head off," Bartlett told Fox News Digital. "I would end up dying three times and spent four years at the old Walter Reed receiving surgeries, reconstruction and rebuilding."

Bartlett was driving an armored Humvee on Route Pluto in Baghdad, May 3, 2005, when an explosively formed penetrator tore through the vehicle. Staff Sgt. William Brooks was killed, while Bartlett and two other soldiers were wounded. Bartlett suffered massive facial trauma.

The Army casualty report described Bartlett as "very seriously injured," with massive facial and dental trauma. He was the vehicle’s driver during the route-security mission when an explosive detonated from its right side.

Bartlett said the weapon was an Iranian-supplied explosively formed penetrator linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ campaign to arm militias attacking American forces in Iraq.

"When you’re blown up, you don’t know what’s hit you," he said. "You get the information after, when the intelligence reports come down and command lets you know what you got hit by."

Bartlett’s survival places him alongside two Gold Star families who say Iran’s long-running campaign against Americans did not begin with the latest fighting — and cannot be understood solely through the current headlines.

Capt. Shawn English was killed by an explosively formed penetrator in Baghdad Dec. 3, 2006. Maj. Stuart Wolfer was killed when a rocket struck a gym inside a U.S. base in Baghdad’s International Zone on April 6, 2008.

In the federal cases involving Sgt. (Ret.) Robert Bartlett, Capt. Shawn English and Maj. Stuart Wolfer, the courts found both that Iran manufactured or supplied the weapons used in the attacks and that the assailants were trained or directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Federal courts later held Iran liable for providing weapons, training, financing and other material support to the proxy forces responsible for attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq.

For their loved ones, those findings offered formal acknowledgment of Iran’s role. They did not end the grief.

‘It’s really hard to only have memories’

"He really was my best friend," Wolfer’s sister, Beverly Wolfer Nerenberg, said in tears before her voice broke. "Sorry, even 18 years later, it doesn’t get easier to talk about."

At her wedding, she chose not to have bridesmaids. Instead, her brother stood beside her as her "man of honor."

"I couldn’t think of anybody else who I was closer to, who really understood me and knew me," she said.

Wolfer was 36 and the father of three young daughters when he was killed.

His sister said he had gone to exercise with a friend when an incoming-fire warning sounded. Those inside the gym had only seconds to react and dropped to the floor because there was no time to reach a protected space.

A military investigation found that a rocket struck the gym’s roof at approximately 3:28 p.m., sending shrapnel into the building. Wolfer and Col. Stephen Scott were almost directly beneath the point of impact and suffered severe injuries. Wolfer was transported to a combat support hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wolfer’s daughters were approximately ages 5, 3 and 18 months old when their father died, according to his sister.

"I’m beyond grateful and proud of my nieces and how they’ve grown up," Wolfer Nerenberg said. "But it’s really hard to only have memories."

She described the family as the keepers of Wolfer’s memory, preserving it for children who had little time to know him.

Her family was told soon after the attack that the rocket had come from the direction of Sadr City, Iraq, and was Iranian, she said.

"This war began a long time ago," Wolfer Nerenberg said. "For many of us, the past 18 years has been one long continuous war."

The weapon he feared killed him

Tricia English said her husband understood the threat posed by explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs —sophisticated roadside bombs designed to punch through armored military vehicles — before one killed him.

During a period of leave shortly before his death, Capt. English appeared distracted and remained awake late into the night working on his computer, she recalled.

"He told me that there were these weapons —specifically called them EFPs — that they had discovered," she said. "They knew where they were coming from, and it was really bad."

"He knew it was Iranian," she added.

English was serving on a military transition team working with Iraqi forces when the EFP struck his vehicle during a convoy operation.

An Army investigation said his mixed American-Iraqi patrol was traveling north when an explosively formed projectile struck the right side of his vehicle. English was evacuated to a combat support hospital and died from his wounds.

His widow said he remained conscious during part of the evacuation and that she was told his last conscious message was: "Tell Trish and the boys that I love them."

"You think after 20 years it wouldn’t be this hard," she said, struggling to continue.

English said the military initially described the weapon simply as a roadside bomb or improvised explosive device. The legal proceedings later exposed her to evidence about the weapon, the people who supplied it and the broader network behind the attack.

"Sitting in the courtroom, I then got so much more information about what really happened and what this really looked like," she said. "That was traumatizing. But he deserved it. I needed to stand up for him."

‘Doing right by them’

Bartlett said he joined the litigation not only for himself, but for those who never returned.

"My buddy died, and plenty of my guys — plenty of people — died over there at the hands of the IRGC," he said.

"If I was sent back, if I died and saw the other side and came back, and I’m not doing right by them and their families who didn’t get to have their child come home, then I’m not doing justice," he said. "I’m not living my faith, and I’m not living what I fought to protect, which is the truth."

The legal cases were brought under the terrorism exception to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, which allows certain American victims to sue designated state sponsors of terrorism.

Iran generally did not appear to defend the cases, resulting in default proceedings. However, the judges still required the plaintiffs to produce evidence demonstrating that Iran’s material support was a substantial factor in the attacks.

The resulting judgments found that Iran, acting through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Quds Force, supplied Shiite militia groups with funding, training, weapons and technical assistance used to target Americans. Iran has not voluntarily paid the judgments, and the plaintiffs continue to face significant obstacles collecting the money they were awarded.

‘We weren’t at war with Iran’

Iran saw the fall of Saddam Hussein as both an opportunity and a threat.

With its longtime enemy removed and U.S. troops stationed next door, Tehran sought to shape Iraq’s political and security system, expand its regional influence and pressure Washington without confronting the U.S. military directly. The Quds Force cultivated Iraqi militias as proxies, providing weapons, funding and training that allowed Iran to attack American forces while maintaining a degree of deniability.

The Treasury Department has described the Quds Force as Iran’s main instrument for supporting militant groups to advance the regime’s national interests.

Tricia English said the distinction matters because American troops in Iraq were being targeted by a country against which the United States had not formally gone to war.

"We weren’t at war with Iran," she said.

The EFP attacks required Iran’s expertise, money, intelligence, manufacturing and organized networks to transport and deploy the weapons, she said.

"To have such a sophisticated, targeted, supported, funded (operation) — it was so sophisticated," she said. "I think it’s important for Americans to see that."

For Bartlett and the English and Wolfer families, the latest war is not the beginning of America’s confrontation with Iran. It is another chapter in a conflict they have carried in their bodies and families for nearly two decades.

"This war began a long time ago," Wolfer Nerenberg said. "For many of us, the past 18 years has been one long continuous war."

For those who buried their loved ones or carried the effects of Iranian-supplied weapons home in their bodies, Iran’s war against Americans did not begin with the latest fighting — and it has never truly ended.

The court cases presented evidence that the IRGC’s Quds Force built, funded, armed and directed Shiite militia networks, supplying them with sophisticated anti-armor weapons designed to penetrate American military vehicles. The litigation also examined Iranian support for Sunni terrorist organizations operating in Iraq.

The cases challenge the perception that the attacks were solely the work of an organic Iraqi insurgency. Instead, the court findings described a broader Iranian system of proxy warfare that allowed Tehran to target American personnel through militia groups operating on the ground.

She said successive administrations have invoked Iran’s record of killing Americans when convenient, while the families have continued waiting for meaningful accountability.

"Shawn did his job every single time his country asked him to do it, regardless of who was in power," she said. "It’s been a little disheartening to watch our country — various administrations, people in power—not do theirs when it comes to this."

Bartlett said Americans exhausted by decades of war must still confront the history behind the current conflict.

"You can’t add to truth and you can’t take away from it," he said. "It just is what it is."

For the families, that truth is measured not only in court judgments or military reports, but in missing fathers, brothers and friends—and in wounds that still hurt as sharply as they did when the telephone first rang.

Trump is proving that the way to better our military is to secure our supply chains

On July 20, President Donald Trump ⁠ signed an important executive order designed to ensure U.S. defense contractors no longer buy critical minerals from China. This is just the latest in a series of administration moves to enhance the security of our most critical supply chains.

The Pentagon has been leading the way with a sharpened focus on increasing production across our nation's defense-related industrial base. Simply stated, we cannot allow Chinese control of any material vital to our war-fighting capabilities.

Supply chain vetting is entirely consistent with the administration's strategy for U.S. economic growth, which relies on a renewed push to onshore manufacturing rather than rely on imports from unregulated and unreliable suppliers. That's good for the U.S. labor force and a great benefit to our national security.

TRUMP MUST CLOSE THE BACK DOOR CHINA USES TO EXPLOIT NORTH AMERICAN TRADE

The good news is that we don’t need to do it all ourselves. We should never hesitate to partner, especially with our G7 allies and other close partners, as long as production takes place on U.S. soil.

Consider a recent agreement signed between U.S. company ReconCraft and Ukrainian company Uforce to produce drone boats in Portland, Oregon. The deal marks the first time a U.S. manufacturer will produce drone boats as part of the Pentagon's push to increase its capacity of autonomous weapons. In a proof-of-concept kinetic strike earlier in July, U.S. drone boats successfully targeted an Iranian submarine facility at a naval base in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition to equipment and their respective work forces, the U.S. and Ukraine will share the warfighting doctrine for effective use of the boats in conflicts. Ukrainian drone operators have developed this doctrine from years of battlefield experience in the face of a relentless Russian invasion.

Relevant applications for the U.S. military are many, including in the Middle East, where the war with Iran requires our use of the most advanced drone and counter-drone technology available. We need these force multipliers to reinvigorate our defense industrial base.

Similar thinking is being applied to the U.S. supply chain for semiconductors and their precursor components, essential for the production of drones. Last December, Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn led the effort to eliminate a significant semiconductor supply chain vulnerability by introducing the Chip EQUIP Act. The act would prevent companies receiving CHIPS Act funding from purchasing specialized technology, including semiconductors, from businesses owned or controlled by China.

Warning that the "the United States must secure its semiconductor supply chains by ensuring American semiconductor companies don't buy manufacturing tools from Communist China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran," Blackburn emphasized that "the Chip EQUIP Act would prevent U.S. labs that receive CHIPS funding from utilizing manufacturing tools made in adversarial nations."

The WNBA had three head coaches in two days enrage WNBA followers with answers to questions on the protection of women's sports.

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White, who oversees superstars Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, gave her answer during a pre-game press conference on Friday.

"I don't know that I would say I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don't ever believe that exclusion is the answer. I just don't. I do think that when we think about various levels of sport, various governing bodies of sport, and things that go into that, like I said, I'm not educated enough at the different levels. I know growing up I played with the boys all the time," White answered.

It triggered a social media meltdown among WNBA followers who were dissatisfied with her platitude. Actor Rob Schneider and New York Giants Super Bowl champion Jake Ballard were among those to criticize White for her answer.

After the game, the Fever drew further criticism after they did not make Caitlin Clark available to reporters, and then abruptly ended the press conference when an OutKick reporter attempted to ask Aliyah Boston about Cunningham's recent stance in support of protecting women's sports.

Liberal sports journalist Jemele Hill even criticized the Fever for not making Clark available.

Portland Fire head coach Alex Sarama also came under scrutiny when he gave his answer on whether biological males should be allowed to compete in women's sports before his team took on the Fever on Friday. Sarama was asked an hour before White was asked.

"My focus is as a basketball coach. To be completely honest, I don't think I've ever had to think about that. I'm completely supportive of people from all communities, people from all walks of life, so that's my stance, completely, I'm support of everyone in the Portland community," Sarama said.

His answer also triggered a tsunami of criticism, but White's answer ultimately overshadowed his and drew attention away from his as the night went on.

Then on Saturday, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who will lead her team against Indiana on Sunday, was asked her thoughts on the recent rallies that have followed the Fever to celebrate Cunningham's stance in supporting the protection of women's sports.

Reeve defended the right of "Save Women’s Sports" demonstrators to gather outside Sunday’s game, but also said that the scenario of "biological men" in girls' locker rooms is "not the case."

"It is not the case that we have 'biological men' in girls' locker rooms. The way it's being phrased, the innuendo there that transgender women are predators of some kind in the locker room. There's a lot of narrative that is problematic that we need to address," she said.

While Reeve also drew criticism, she also garnered praise from pro-trans social media users.

The national debate over trans athletes in women's sports has gripped the WNBA after Cunningham revealed her stance on the issue in an ESPN article last month. The two rallies that have taken place at Fever games since then have garnered mainstream national attention.

The first rally in Seattle resulted in a national controversy when Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton allegedly berated two young Cunningham fans who attended, as the owner was later suspended for five home games and fined. The second rally in Portland on Friday saw a crowd of counterprotesters show up, some in costumes.

Hotel Wi-Fi phishing attack targets Microsoft logins

Hackers are tampering with Wi-Fi equipment at hotels and conference centers, turning an everyday internet connection into a path toward fake Microsoft 365 login pages. The hotel Wi-Fi phishing attack poses a particular risk to business travelers. You might connect before a meeting, open your laptop and see what appears to be a normal Microsoft sign-in screen. However, the hotel's compromised network may have quietly sent you to a page controlled by hackers.

Cybersecurity company ReliaQuest says the campaign has been active since at least June. Researchers found compromised Wi-Fi gateways in several U.S. cities. Organizations in financial services, professional services, legal, health care, energy and retail connected through the affected equipment. That broad range suggests the hackers may be targeting traveling employees rather than one specific industry. Here is how the attack works, which warning signs to watch for and the steps you can take to protect yourself while traveling.

Hackers are changing hotel Wi-Fi DNS settings

A Wi-Fi gateway controls how connected devices reach the internet. Once hackers gain administrative access, they can change the gateway's Domain Name System settings. DNS works like an address book for the internet. It translates a website name into the numerical address needed to reach the correct server.

In this campaign, hackers alter that process. When someone tries to open a legitimate Microsoft login page, the compromised gateway may direct the browser to a fake site instead. Your device can still appear connected normally. The hotel name may show up in your Wi-Fi settings and other websites may continue loading. That makes the attack difficult to notice before you enter sensitive information.

How attackers may be breaking into Wi-Fi gateways

ReliaQuest has not confirmed how the attackers first gained access to the affected appliances. However, the researchers identified several possible entry points. Some gateways may expose administrative tools directly to the internet. Hackers could search for weak passwords, vulnerable web dashboards or poorly protected remote management services.

Older Wi-Fi appliances may also run software with known security flaws. If a hotel or event venue delays an update, an attacker may exploit that opening and take control. Once inside, the hacker can change the DNS configuration without touching each guest's phone or laptop. One compromised gateway can affect many people who connect during an event.

WHAT YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER, WEBSITES AND ADVERTISERS SEE

Fake Microsoft 365 pages capture business logins

ReliaQuest says the attackers registered at least four domains for the fake Microsoft portals:

m365-owa[.]com
owa-ms365[.]com
ms365-device[.]com
ms365-live[.]com

These addresses contain familiar Microsoft terms. A traveler moving quickly between meetings may overlook the unusual domain name. The fake page can collect a Microsoft 365 email address and password. A stolen account may expose business email, private documents and company cloud services. Hackers could also use the account to impersonate an employee. That creates opportunities for payment fraud, internal phishing or further attacks against coworkers and clients.

A device code prompt may bypass MFA

Some incidents involved a more deceptive device code authentication flow. A user reached a fake Microsoft page that displayed an authorization prompt. The prompt appeared to be part of a legitimate sign-in process.

Behind the scenes, however, the hacker had already started an authentication session. When the user approved the request, Microsoft issued a legitimate OAuth token to the attacker's client. That token could give the hacker account access without requiring the attacker to steal a password or intercept a one-time code.

This technique can get around multifactor authentication because the user completes the approval. The security system sees a valid authorization even though the attacker initiated it. A login prompt that suddenly asks you to approve a device deserves extra scrutiny. Stop and verify the request through your company's IT department before continuing.

Researchers also spotted attempts to abuse WPAD

In roughly one-third of the cases, the attackers attempted to abuse Web Proxy Auto-Discovery, commonly called WPAD. Windows can use WPAD to find network proxy settings automatically. The attackers responded to those requests with a malicious proxy auto-configuration file.

In theory, that file could send traffic from Windows applications through a proxy controlled by the hackers. That may give attackers another chance to observe or manipulate network activity. ReliaQuest could not confirm whether those WPAD attempts succeeded. Still, the activity shows that the attackers may be looking beyond Microsoft login credentials.

Public DNS services may not stop the attack

Switching your device to a public DNS service such as Google's 8.8.8.8 may sound like an easy defense. Unfortunately, ReliaQuest says that step alone cannot block this campaign. Traditional DNS requests travel across the network in plain text. A compromised Wi-Fi gateway can forge the response before your request reaches the public resolver.

Your device may think it contacted the DNS service you selected. In reality, the gateway can answer first and point you toward the hacker's server. Encrypted DNS offers stronger protection because it prevents the local gateway from easily reading or changing those requests. However, you need to configure it in strict mode so your device does not quietly fall back to an unencrypted connection.

Ways to stay safe on hotel and conference Wi-Fi

Public Wi-Fi can still be useful, but you should treat it as an untrusted network. These steps can reduce your exposure while traveling.

1) Use an always-on full-tunnel VPN

A full-tunnel VPN encrypts your internet traffic and sends it through a trusted VPN server. Services can help protect travelers using hotel, airport or conference Wi-Fi. Make sure the VPN covers all traffic rather than selected apps. Connect it before opening email, checking financial accounts or signing in to any sensitive service. 2) Consider using your phone's hotspot

Your phone's cellular hotspot can help you avoid the hotel gateway entirely. This works well when you need to access email or business documents for a short period. Check your mobile data allowance first. Large downloads and video calls can use a significant amount of data.

3) Verify every Microsoft login address

Before entering a password, look closely at the full web address. A domain containing "Microsoft," "365" or "OWA" does not make the page legitimate. Use a saved bookmark for your company's Microsoft 365 portal. You can also open the official application instead of following a prompt that appears after connecting to Wi-Fi.

4) Be cautious with device code requests

Do not approve an unfamiliar device code simply because the page looks authentic. Ask why the request appeared and confirm that you started the login process. Contact your IT or security team when a prompt feels unexpected. A quick verification can prevent an attacker from receiving a valid session token.

5) Keep your devices and browsers updated

Install operating system, browser and security updates before traveling. These updates can close vulnerabilities that attackers use alongside network-based attacks. Restart your device after installing an update when prompted. Some fixes do not take effect until the restart finishes.

6) Use strong security software

Strong antivirus software can help detect malicious pages, suspicious downloads and other threats that follow a phishing attempt. Keep its web protection features turned on. Security software cannot repair a compromised hotel gateway. However, it can add another barrier when an attacker tries to deliver malware or send you toward a known phishing site. 7) Ask your company to review Microsoft settings

ReliaQuest recommends disabling Microsoft Entra ID device code authentication when an organization does not need it. Companies should also review login records for unusual locations, unfamiliar devices or suspicious application approvals. IT teams can disable WPAD where business systems do not require it. They should also investigate unexpected proxy configuration activity on Windows devices.

In-N-Out president says ‘heart is broken’ after employee, customers killed in Idaho shooting

In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder said her "heart is broken" after an employee and customers were killed when a gunman opened fire at one of the burger chain’s newest restaurants in Idaho.

Three people were killed and seven others injured, some critically, in the Saturday afternoon shooting at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, city spokesperson Josh Palmer said. Police found the suspected gunman dead near the restaurant, though Palmer said it was not immediately clear whether the shooter was included in the city’s reported death toll.

"We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight," Snyder said in a statement posted to Facebook. "She was taking care of our most important asset — our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own."

Snyder said the gunman fired both on and away from In-N-Out property before ending his own life shortly after killing the employee and customers.

Officials had not released the names, ages or other identifying details of the victims as authorities worked to notify their relatives.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators were also working to identify the suspected shooter and determine a motive.

"We believe the threat to the community is over," Hicks said during a news conference. "It was a very chaotic scene."

The shooting unfolded at about 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza where hundreds of people were in the area, according to Palmer.

Video recorded from across the street appeared to show a person dressed in black carrying a long rifle toward a white vehicle. The person opened the driver’s door and then the trunk before reaching inside, prompting the driver recording the scene to leave out of concern that the shooter might be retrieving additional weapons.

Multiple victims were taken to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. A hospital spokesperson said the facility was working with law enforcement and emergency personnel as they responded to the shooting.

The restaurant first opened on July 24, barely a week before the attack, as part of In-N-Out’s expansion into the Gem State.

Snyder said the company would mourn alongside the victims’ families and support the employees and customers who experienced the violence.

"I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough, and my heart also goes out to all of the Associates and Customers who were there during this traumatic event," she said.

She urged the In-N-Out community to "turn to God, not in anger, but seeking comfort and strength for those who are hurting."

"We will stand together, and we will do everything we can to learn from this situation," Snyder added.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting local authorities with the investigation.

Twin Falls, a city of roughly 56,000 residents, is about 130 miles southeast of Boise.

'Today' show intruder who allegedly hurled slur sent to Rikers without bail after probation violation

The man accused of slipping past security at NBC's "Today" show studios and hurling a racial slur at co-host Craig Melvin was ordered to be held at Rikers Island without bail after violating the terms of his probation, according to court records.

Andrew Truelove, 41, was remanded to the Rikers Island jail complex without bail on Wednesday after violating parole tied to a criminal mischief charge he pleaded guilty to in May, court records show. Truelove is accused of sneaking into a vestibule that is near Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center on July 16 and going up to Melvin, allegedly hurling a racial slur.

Truelove was allegedly searching for Al Roker but encountered Melvin instead. He faces hate crime charges of burglary, a felony, and menacing, a misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.

The man has a criminal history that extends beyond New York.

During those court proceedings, a psychiatrist testified Truelove had bipolar disorder symptoms and stopped taking medications.

His rap sheet also includes charges of trespassing, destruction of property, making bomb threats and multiple probation violations, according to Virginia court records.

The "Today" show said in a statement it was reviewing security protocols after the incident. A security guard who reportedly failed to keep Truelove out of the studio was fired.

We are reviewing the incident and our security protocols and remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for everyone who works at and visits our studios."

Is Mickey Mouse inherently racist?

That’s the impression you would get if you visited the exhibit on Entertainment Nation at the American History Museum on the National Mall — the Smithsonian Institution’s flagship museum that explains to between 2 million and 4 million visitors every year what America is all about, and why.

You won’t find any permanent exhibit on the Founding Fathers or the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

But you will find a display that claims one of America’s most beloved and iconic cartoon characters, Mickey Mouse, was actually inspired by blackface minstrelsy — an entertainment trend directly linked to the demeaning of African Americans in our past.

The 1619 Project proclaiming that slavery, not freedom, lies at the root of our identity as a nation, has been heavily integrated into exhibits at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture — even though the project itself has been debunked as a tissue of historical distortions and outright lies.

The African American Museum also has a lurid fascination with violent Marxists such as Angela Davis and Stokely Carmichael, while it was only after considerable protest and outrage that it finally conceded part of an exhibit to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Two national monuments outside Washington, D.C., Monticello and Montpelier, have fully embraced the woke agenda, and turned the homes of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison into propaganda centers for leftist messaging regarding slavery in America instead of celebrating the contributions of two of our greatest founders.

SMITHSONIAN PUSHED ‘REVOLTING’ SOCIAL ACTION TRAINING AFTER ‘WHITENESS’ CHART APOLOGY: EXPERT

This takeover by the radical left has been going on for years, as its practitioners have crafted a view of history that systematically denigrates America, while turning words like diversity and inclusion into guided missiles for attacking our most important institutions.

And the blame falls squarely on conservatives.

They watched as the radical left took over our universities and colleges, and did nothing.

They frowned a little as the left took over K-12 education, but did nothing.

They squirmed when the left took over Monticello and Montpelier, but again did nothing.

Now a DSA-style agenda has infected our most important museums in the nation’s capital.

The shame is, there’s such a great story that our national museums could be telling.

It’s a story of how our founding on the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has been the guiding light in our history for 250 years. Our most dramatic episodes, from the American Revolution and the Civil War to the building of the transcontinental railroad and the rise of American industry and technology, all show that same Founders’ spirit and drive that animates what we call American exceptionalism.

It’s also a story of how women, African Americans, Native Americans and immigrants of every color and background have struggled but also triumphed in their pursuit of the American Dream. Their story is an inspiring saga which we continue to see unfold before us — one that still draws millions to our shores in pursuit of the same dream.

In short, America’s story is one of the greatest, most exciting, and most inspiring, adventures in all history. The radical left, however, is determined to turn that story into an extended horror movie. Our Smithsonian museums are only their latest theaters for spreading their lies and distortions.

Now, finally, Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill and his colleagues have publicly exposed the threat through their hearings. So has the White House, with its Domestic Policy Council report detailing how the Smithsonian has been captured by a radical, activist ideology. It’s time for ordinary Americans to stand up against the radical denigration of their country and its culture.
