'World's Most Beautiful Soccer Player' puts a successful beach day in the books after taking talents back home

Ana Maria Markovic may have turned her back on soccer in the United States, but she hasn't turned her back on summer. A few weeks ago, she thanked Brooklyn FC after spending just one season in New York.

The Croatian soccer player, who has been on the OutKick radar for a long time, returned home to Croatia as a member of Hajduk Split. This is the fifth different team she's played for since 2024.

Markovic is still trying to get back to where she was before suffering a major knee injury in March 2023 as a member of Switzerland's Grasshopper Club. It hasn’t been easy as she reportedly hasn’t scored a goal since the injury.

That didn't keep her from landing on a decent team. Hajduk Split is coming off of their first Croatian Women's First Football League championship title, which they won back in May.

The ups and downs haven’t kept the "World's Most Beautiful Soccer Player," a title that Markovic was once given, from putting a successful beach day in the books either.

Police nab 'armed and dangerous' New York fugitive suspected of killing father and torching home

An "armed and dangerous" New York fugitive suspected of killing his 70-year-old father and setting the family home ablaze was captured Sunday, ending a multiday manhunt that drew in the FBI and police agencies across the state.

Thomas David Ryan, 32, was taken into custody in the Gilboa area of Schoharie County, New York State Police said. Authorities had been searching for Ryan since his father, Robert Ryan, was found dead inside his burning Greenville home Thursday evening. Police said the fire was deliberately set.

Police did not say how Ryan was found or provide details about his arrest. They said more information would be released later.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT AFTER KILLING, HOUSE FIRE FOR 'ARMED AND DANGEROUS' SUSPECT

The case began around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, when state troopers were called to a house fire on Greenville Turnpike in Orange County.

After firefighters put out the blaze, a man was found dead inside the home. Police later identified him as Robert Ryan, 70.

Investigators determined the fire had been set intentionally and began treating Robert Ryan’s death as a homicide. Police soon began searching for his son.

Ryan did not live with his father and had no other known ties to the Greenville area at the time, according to State Police.

'AMERICA'S MOST WANTED' FUGITIVE CAPTURED ON SAILBOAT OFF NJ COAST AFTER 20 YEARS ON THE RUN

Investigators believed Ryan left in his father’s gray 2016 Toyota Prius. As the search widened, police repeatedly described him as "armed and dangerous" and urged anyone who spotted him to call 911 rather than approach him.

Police combed through surveillance video from homes and businesses, trying to trace Ryan’s movements after the killing. Residents in Greenville and nearby communities were asked to check footage recorded from about 6 p.m. Thursday through the overnight hours.

Police said Ryan had stayed at shelters across New York and was known to frequent the Plattsburgh area, more than 200 miles north of Greenville. Investigators checked places where he had previously stayed and worked with rail operators because Ryan was known to travel by train.

The investigation eventually involved the FBI, NYPD, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Middletown and Port Jervis, along with several State Police investigative units and other state and county agencies.

Basketball Hall of Famer Don Nelson dead at 86

Don Nelson, a former NBA player and head coach who is in the Basketball Hall of Fame, has died, his family announced on Sunday. He was 86.

Nelson played in the NBA from 1963 to 1976 and was a head coach in the league from 1977 to 2010.

"On Sunday morning our beloved husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather Don Nelson peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family," his family said in a statement, via NBA writer Marc Stein. "Throughout his last week, friends and family encircled him with love, sharing the blessing of his friendship and revisiting treasured memories."

Nelson was a standout basketball player at Iowa before he was chosen in the third round of the 1962 NBA Draft by the Chicago Zephyrs. He played one season with the Zephyrs before moving on to the Los Angeles Lakers and later the Boston Celtics.

He spent more of his 14-year career with the Celtics. In 11 years with Boston, he was a member of five NBA championship teams. He averaged 11.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in 872 games with Boston.

Nelson went into coaching a year after he retired. He spent the 1976-77 season as an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks before he was promoted to head coach in the 1976-77 season, replacing Larry Costello, who was let go after 18 games.

He coached the Bucks until 1987. He then coached the Golden State Warriors in two separate stints, the Dallas Mavericks and 59 games for the New York Knicks. He was awarded the NBA Coach of the Year three times and appeared on two lists of the greatest coaches in NBA history.

Nelson was 1,335-1,063 as a head coach. He won 540 games as a head coach of the Bucks.

NORAD fighter jets intercept aircraft near Trump’s Bedminster golf club

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said its F-16 fighter jets intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft over Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday after the planes reportedly violated temporary flight restrictions in the area.

The 1st Air Force’s Air Forces Northern clarified that two aircraft were involved in the incident.

The general aviation aircraft were safely escorted out of the restricted area by NORAD aircraft, officials said.

Former PGA Tour player Matt McQuillan suddenly passes away at just 45 years old

Former PGA Tour player Matt McQuillan has died at 45 years old.

The Canadian from Kingston, Ontario, died on Aug. 5 "surrounded by his family," according to an obituary published in the Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper.

McQuillan earned a scholarship to play collegiately at Oklahoma State, where he began his college career in 2000 before later transferring to the University of Georgia. He turned professional in 2003 and ultimately played in 32 PGA Tour events, making the cut in nine of those starts.

McQuillan's best finish on Tour came in 2011 when he finished T-3 at the John Deere Classic, which came in large part due to an impressive final round 64. He tied for third alongside two-time major champion Zach Johnson.

His most recent appearance in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event came on the PGA Tour Canada circuit in September 2016.

According to the PGA Tour, McQuillan stayed connected in the game as a teaching professional in his hometown and introduced the game to the next generation of players across Canada.

"Matty was a respected golfer, devoted son, hilarious brother, and friend. His father, Mark, started teaching him how to swing the club at the young age of ten and his passion and talent grew immensely," the Whig-Standard obituary reads.

"Starting as a junior on the Canadian Tour and making it to the PGA in 2011, Matt developed lifelong friendships while mentoring anyone who loved the game of golf. There will be a celebration of life held at the ANAF at a later date to be determined and announced by family. He will be deeply missed by many and his spirit, love and compassion will be remembered every day. Rest easy, Matty. We love you."

McQuillan earned just under $604,000 during his PGA Tour career.

The photos show Longoria laughing as she gets hit by the ocean waves, while others show her bracing for impact as she makes her way to Bastón.

The "Flamin' Hot" director met Bastón in 2013 when they were introduced by a mutual friend, and while she told People in 2017 that there wasn't an immediate connection, they met up again six months later and the rest was history.

"It was like the cliché angels singing and there was a glow around him and it was immediate chemistry," she told the outlet about their first date. "He was so charismatic, charming, sweet and funny. I thought, 'Who is this guy?!'"

Bastón and Longoria went on to tie the knot in May 2016 during a ceremony at Bastón's home in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.

RNC chair says Talarico's GOP crossover hopes are a 'pipe dream': 'Nobody is going to follow him'

Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico needs to flip some Republican voters this November to win in the largest red state in the U.S., but his opponents are calling out claims of Republicans backing him as inauthentic, if not fraudulent.

"Any chance that Talarico has building any type of Republican coalition is a pipe dream for him," Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters told Fox News Digital in an interview. "Nobody is going to follow him. He’s completely out of touch with Texans."

Gruters' rebuke came after women voters interviewed on MS NOW's "Morning Joe" claimed to be Republican crossover supporters, only to have longstanding ties to Democrats and anti-President Donald Trump groups – not exactly people that would be voting for Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton in one of the Senate's biggest ticket races in the battle for the majority.

"The people that he had come out and say that they were on his team have been proven to be basically Democrat, liberal activists that have been supporting Democrat candidates for 10-plus years," Gruters continued.

'FAKE' MODERATE TALARICO'S TEXAS SURGE TESTS PAXTON IN FIGHT TO HOLD CRUCIAL GOP SENATE SEAT

"I just don't believe it," Gruters said. "This is Kamala Harris' 'White Dudes for Kamala.' It just doesn't exist. It's a wannabe or an attempt at them to try to build some crossover support."

Talarico has emphasized building a broad coalition in his campaign, which says it intends to "go everywhere and talk to everyone" ahead of the November election.

But Republicans have seized on the political histories of some of Talarico's backers as evidence the outreach is less bipartisan than advertised.

FOX NEWS POLL: GOP DIVISIONS SHAPE TEXAS SENATE RACE

One of the women presented as a Republican mother supporting Talarico was identified in subsequent reporting as Mindy McClure. She has Federal Election Commission filings associated with her showing repeated ActBlue contributions benefiting Democratic candidates and political groups dating back to 2018, including Kamala Harris and The Lincoln Project – an anti-Trump political activist group.

"When you have policies like mutilating children, saying that God has six different genders and is non-binary and all this other stuff, you can't expect that Republicans are going to hop on and think that they're going to be on board to this liberal clown show that he's operating down there in Texas," Gruters said.

The primary-voting history of another woman featured in the campaign’s outreach was exposed by a record showing more participation in Democratic than Republican primaries.

When reached for comment Sunday, the Talarico campaign said the women have no official ties to the campaign, but the spokesperson pointed to the MSNBC interview, noting they had previously voted for Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott – one of which vowed to never do again.

Talarico has also showcased the support of former Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley, a longtime Republican who endorsed the Democrat at a recent campaign event.

REPUBLICANS UNITING TO BEAT TALARICO: PAXTON TELLS ‘RUTHLESS’

Whitley ran as a Republican judge, but his recent endorsements are on the left. The former county judge endorsed Democrat Mike Collier against Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in 2022 before backing Harris for president and Democrat Colin Allred for U.S. Senate in 2024. All those Democrats lost to Republicans, as did Beto O'Rourke to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, by less than three points in 2018.

That history has given Republicans an opening to argue that Talarico is largely attracting voters who had already broken with GOP nominees before the current Senate contest.

"He's not Beto: Beto was actually a decent candidate, as liberal as he was," Gruters said, delivering his oft-used moniker to Talarico for his "freakish" policy positions in a campaign for Senate in the deeply conservative state. "This guy makes Beto look like a conservative.

"Tala-freako has no chance, because people aren't buying into the stuff that he's peddling."

CORNYN PREDICTS TRUMP MIDTERM 'DISASTER,' THEN 'THE MOST MISERABLE TWO YEARS OF HIS LIFE'

Texas is famously a state that Trump says votes on "God, guns and oil," so the RNC chair says those not on board with Trump or those staples are "not the right candidate for Texas" and "not the right candidates for the U.S. Senate" in the state.

"We don't need weak members," Gruters said. "We need strong MAGA warriors. And that's exactly what Ken Paxton will provide is he will bring: strength to the U.S. Senate on behalf of Texas and will represent them well."

Paxton survived a potential Texas state impeachment effort just about three years ago. Two of those Republican Texas State House impeachment managers that voted to impeach Paxton in an attempt that died in the state Senate are now campaigning for Paxton.

Republican State Rep. Jeff Leach introduced Paxton at an Allen, Texas, campaign rally last week, and state Rep. Briscoe Cain introduced Paxton at a Houston rally. Both are backing Paxton over Talarico.

THE BALLOT BOX SHOWDOWNS THIS MONTH THAT YOU NEED TO WATCH

There had been some concern Paxton – endorsed by Trump – was not an ideal GOP nominee, having ousted sitting Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who was a four-term senator and won by nearly double digits in 2020. Cornyn was "a great U.S. senator for a long time," Gruters admitted, stopping short of saying whether Cornyn will stump for Paxton like those impeachment managers that have come home for him.

Fox News Digital reached out to Cornyn's office for comment.

"I think he is raising money right now for all the Republicans in the Senate, still hosting events, and so I don't know personally if he's come out and endorsed Ken Paxton yet, but I'm sure that he is still on board with making sure that we have the MAGA warriors in place to support the president's agenda moving forward," Gruters said.

The Trump endorsement is not undefeated in marquee Senate races, as Herschel Walker (Georgia) and Dr. Mehmet Oz (Pennsylvania) lost in 2022 despite Trump's backing, but those key losses were by non-politicians that do not have Paxton's state-wide campaign infrastructure.

"You got to remember Ken Paxton won this state a couple of times in the general," Gruters added. "He won a primary against a strong incumbent [Cornyn] that's been there for a long time by a couple hundred thousand votes."

DEMOCRATS BUILD MIDTERM MOMENTUM, BUT REPUBLICANS STILL IN DRIVER'S SEAT IN SENATE MAJORITY BATTLE

Paxton told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" on Sunday that he has "outraised every Republican in the country," but he urged the Senate Leadership Fund – which has long-running ties to Senate incumbents like Cornyn – now-conservative billionaire Elon Musk and Trump's $800 million MAGA Inc. coffers need to help him keep the Senate seat.

"I'm trying to raise money during the summer in Texas, which is challenging, so we're hoping the Senate Leadership Fund, Elon Musk, President Trump come in now because we're trying to accumulate," Paxton told host Maria Bartiromo. "We're raising money for October right now and September, not now.

"We don't have the money for now. So that's allowed [Talarico] to just keep advertising that he's a moderate Democrat when he's, in reality, a socialist."

Despite long-running Democrat hopes and tens of millions of campaign spending to flip Cruz's seat, Gruters predicted this Paxton-Talarico race would not be the biggest dollar one of this cycle – that will wind up being North Carolina, he said.

"People want this race to be the biggest race in the country, but it really won't be because, at the end of the day, Paxton has proven time and time again that he's a winner – he's a winner in this state," Gruters said amid slow-moving funding for Paxton's campaign against the big Talarico Democrat dollars.

"Texas is ruby red. It's not going to go left and vote for somebody who wants to mutilate children, put boys in girls locker rooms and who, you know, says he has faith on Sunday then goes woke on Monday. It's just not going to happen. Texas is a hardcore Republican state.

"And so, yes, listen, a lot of money, Texas is a massive state, a lot of resources from California are pouring in because these California liberals like Tala-freako. But I don't think it's going to help him at the end of the day. Paxton is going to win this race."

Dodgers vs Diamondbacks pitching matchup favors the under in divisional game

We cashed our main play of the player prop yesterday as Gerrit Cole continues to torment Matt Olson. Sometimes a hitter or a pitcher just has a guy's number, and that seems to be the case with Olson, who is otherwise a very good pitcher. The under in the game did not happen, though, as both teams did a fair bit of damage and the game ended up with nine runs.

Let's try to avoid that fate today as we play the Dodgers and Diamondbacks game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up the best pitcher in baseball at the trade deadline, and immediately started looking like the worst team in baseball. Just kidding. However, the Dodgers did lose seven straight games, and perhaps it was just them playing against some hot competition as the Red Sox are killing everyone, and the Cubs play very well at Wrigley Field.

Still, the Dodgers have to be happy getting a win yesterday and ending the skid. We know they are going to win 100 games and make the playoffs. They will be the favorite to win the World Series again, and they should be, even if this week was tough.

They send out Justin Wrobleski to the hill today for the start against Arizona. He has put together a nice campaign this season with an 11-3 record, 3.31 ERA, and a 1.07 WHIP. There are a lot of people who hate the Dodgers for getting free agents or trading for studs, but Wrobleski is a homegrown guy.

He is coming off his worst start of the season and back-to-back poor outings. He has allowed eight home runs in his past two starts, and a total of 12 earned runs in his last 10.1 innings. Considering he has now allowed 16 homers all season, I feel like this is a blip more than a pattern. I'm expecting to see him make adjustments and get back to what has worked.

TARIK SKUBAL'S DODGERS DEBUT ENDS IN DECISIVE 5-1 LOSS TO CUBS AS LA DROPS FIFTH STRAIGHT GAME

The Arizona Diamondbacks are actually in a position where if the season ended today, they would find themselves once again in the postseason. We aren't too far removed from them making a World Series appearance (and losing to the Rangers). Despite the Diamondbacks trading away players last year, and even some before the season started, they have put together a strong campaign. Their starting pitching has a few eye sores, but their hitting has done a good job of masking those.

One guy who has stood out for the Diamondbacks is today's starter, Eduardo Rodriguez. For the year, Rodriguez is 10-4 with a 2.71 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He has been very strong at home, and has been solid in most of his starts overall. He has had some recent struggles, in two of his past four outings, he has allowed five earned runs. Both of those games happened in Arizona as well. However, it does seem like when he has a bad outing, he makes good adjustments for the next one.

Rodriguez has faced the Dodgers a few times already this season with two wins and one loss. He's been very good in both of the games, though. He hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of the three starts. Wrobleski has faced the Dodgers just once this season, and he allowed just six hits in six scoreless innings. He didn't factor into the decision, but the Dodgers lost the game 3-2.

This is a game that I think we have to back the under again. The books hung it at nine, which is a bit of a reflection of how the starters have done recently, and a bit of a nod to the offense.

However, I do think in this divisional game, both starters will make some necessary adjustments. Rodriguez has done well against the Dodgers already, and Wrobleski has only really hurt himself because of homers. If he can keep the ball in the yard, this should stay under 9 runs.

'Outsider' House primary winner sets sights on flipping longtime GOP seat back from Dems: 'Ready for a change'

Fresh off her Republican primary win, veteran meteorologist and Congressional candidate Terri DeBoer told Fox News Digital she is ready to flip the state's Third Congressional District back over to the GOP.

"The one thing that we're really hearing over and over again is people are ready for a change," DeBoer said of her bid to unseat incumbent Dem. Rep. Hillary Scholten. "They are ready to be represented by someone who shares the same common sense West Michigan values as they do, and I'm the best candidate to fill the bill."

DeBoer, a 61-year-old mother of three who worked for several television stations in western Michigan over a 30-year career, is looking to shake up a district that was held by Republicans for decades before Scholten seized it in 2022.

DEMS RALLY BEHIND MICHIGAN PROSECUTOR TO CHAMPION PARTY IN CRUCIAL HOUSE RACE

DeBoer said the Democratic Party has lost its way and is aligning with candidates who undermine what "makes America so great."

Looking beyond her own race, DeBoer pushed back when asked whether Abdul El-Sayed’s Senate primary victory signals growing support for a progressive agenda within the Democratic Party.

"What I hear when I knock on doors, when I walk down the street, when I'm at the grocery store, people say, ‘Thank you. Thank you for being willing to step forward in a common sense way to represent our values, because quite simply, the other side is no longer representing the values of West Michigan,’" she said.

El-Sayed, a far-left progressive, narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., in one of the nation's most closely watched Democratic primaries last week.

"I believe that when people truly understand what is at stake here, the very future of America and the freedoms that we have enjoyed, that I think the choice is very clear," she said.
ROGERS OPENS DOOR TO DEMOCRATIC VOTERS AFTER EL-SAYED’S PRIMARY VICTORY: ‘THERE IS STILL HOPE’

DeBoer added there is a disconnect between Scholten's "moderate" image on the campaign trail and her voting record in Congress.

"I believe the biggest point of contrast, quite frankly, is that for the last few campaign cycles she has campaigned as though she's a very moderate individual, and yet her voting record in Congress is in stark contrast to that," she said.

Scholten’s vote against the SAVE America Act and her support for "boys in girls' locker rooms, boys in our girls' sports" are examples of this contrast, according to DeBoer. Scholten voted against a bill that would ban transgender women and girls from competing on female school sports teams in January 2025, according to U.S. House voting records,

But DeBoer, who previously told Fox News Digital she considers herself an outsider in this race, said her positions are more closely aligned with voters and that she would bring "common-sense values" to Washington if elected.

"Highlander" star Christopher Lambert suffered a medical scare after collapsing at Steel City Con in Philadelphia during a meet and greet over the weekend.

The 69-year-old had to leave the convention due to a "personal issue," according to the event's Facebook page.

The French actor was subsequently taken to a local hospital by ambulance, according to TMZ.

A representative for Lambert told TMZ that the actor was "perfectly OK" and resting at his hotel. The representative said Lambert had not gotten enough sleep the previous night and had eaten little during the day, causing his blood sugar to drop.

Steel City Con representatives told People that the actor had become overheated and dehydrated.

"Christopher was feeling a little overheated and dehydrated. He had to sit down, but he is doing great today," organizers told the outlet.

A representative for Lambert did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The convention said Lambert was expected to return Sunday for scheduled photo opportunities and a noon Q&A panel. Steel City Con’s official schedule lists Lambert as appearing Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the Aug. 7-9 event.

Lambert is best known for starring as immortal swordsman Connor MacLeod in the 1986 cult classic "Highlander." He also portrayed Tarzan in 1984’s "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" and Lord Raiden in the 1995 film adaptation of "Mortal Kombat."

Miller, who has resisted calls to end his re-election campaign, would have needed to withdraw by Saturday evening to give Republican officials enough time to select a replacement and complete the steps needed to meet Monday’s 4 p.m. certification deadline under Ohio election rules.

Instead, Miller is staying in the race despite mounting pressure from fellow Republicans to step aside over domestic-abuse allegations made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, the daughter of Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno.

Sydney Colson, who spent the 2025 WNBA season playing alongside Cunningham in Indiana, reacted to Carrington's hard foul on her former teammate and eventual ejection from the game by writing "I love a trans foul" on her Instagram Threads account on Saturday evening.

Colson's post is a play on words. Not only did Carrington's flagrant foul on Cunningham come on a transition play with the Fever star attempting a layup, but it also comes amid Cunningham making headlines after recently voicing her opinion that transgender athletes do not belong in women's sports.

"Yeah, I mean, look, it was a hard foul. I don't think that DiJonai intentionally came out to get her across the neck like she did. But it did happen, and I thought it was the right call," White said, but she wasn't done backing up Carrington.

"You know, one of the things about Nay is that she's gonna play her butt off, man. She's gonna compete. Nobody's gonna go walking in for a layup. And so, I don't oppose the hard foul. But I also don't think that she intentionally went for the neck."

Cunningham has received pushback after stating in an ESPN story published on July 21 that she does not believe women should have to compete against biological men.

"I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I'm like, 'I never once said that,'" Cunningham told the outlet. "I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men."

Certain migrant communities are helping to drive widespread fraud that has cost taxpayers billions of dollars, Vice President JD Vance told Fox News Digital.

In an interview in his office in the West Wing of the White House last week, Vance discussed his work leading the fraud task force under President Trump. Vance said his team has found a clear pattern of collaboration involving migrant communities.

"You definitely see patterns where certain communities," Vance said. "It'll start as maybe one Somali person takes advantage of the system, or realizes you don't even have to have children to get money from these programs. You could just claim that you have children, there's no verification. Then, word spreads like wildfire, and that program gets tapped into by the same members of that community."

"Or, you have autistic kids who benefit from services that are meant to go to the families of children with autism, and you have fraudsters who get rich off these programs," he added. "Sometimes they don't even have children, much less autistic children enrolled."

Vance revealed that roughly $230 billion in fraud has been uncovered since Trump took office and that $55 billion in federal payments to suspected fraudsters has been halted.

Last week, federal and state law enforcement charged 19 defendants accused of participating in schemes involving more than $4 million in claims submitted to Medicare and Medicaid, according to the Department of Justice.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday also announced a plea agreement involving the final defendant in a previously charged 21-defendant case tied to more than $1.7 million in claims in the Keystone State.

Prosecuting fraudsters is one thing, but Vance said that recouping the money presents yet another challenge, since much of it has already been spent.

"Getting money back is very hard," Vance said. "Once it's gone out the door, it's very hard to get it back."

"What we've done most effectively is actually just stop the money from going out the door in the first place, because that's the only real way to ensure the American people don't lose it."

At the end of last year, reports and social media coverage from independent journalist Nick Shirley exposed a network of daycare centers, like the "Quality Learing (sic) Center," that were allegedly fraudulent and operated mostly by Somali immigrants.

The deployment sparked a clash between local residents and federal agents that exploded into violent riots across the Twin Cities.

While the duties of a vice president vary from one administration to another, Trump has leaned heavily on his No. 2. Vance has traveled abroad twice to meet directly with Iranian leaders and regularly provides updates on the negotiations to the press. That role came after Trump appointed Vance as the head of the White House’s anti-fraud task force in May, dubbing him the "Fraud Czar."

Despite his array of assignments, Vance, who recently turned 42, and his wife, first lady Usha Vance, had their fourth child last month, making him the first sitting vice president to have a child in more than 150 years.

While social media users have likely seen the viral clip and post by now, those watching the game on ESPN may be unaware of the full story.

A player clotheslining another while she goes up for a layup, and then accusing the officials of racism, is a story on its own. But the players involved make the situation more notable.

DIJONAI CARRINGTON DECLARES 'WHITE PRIVILEGE' AFTER EJECTION FOR SMACKING SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM IN THE FACE

Cunningham is currently embroiled in controversy after stating that female athletes should not have to compete against biological males. (How dare she?) Her comments have since become a topic of discussion beyond sports, namely on cable news.

Carrington, meanwhile, has a history of controversy involving dirty play. She previously jammed her finger into Caitlin Clark's eye during a game after posting on social media about Clark's supposed "white privilege."

Are you starting to see a theme?

Despite all this, ESPN showed just one replay immediately after the foul and did not address the play at all during its halftime show, which focused solely on the Fever and Sky game itself.

Imagine a fight breaking out during an NFL game involving two of the league's most controversial players, followed by one of them making an accusation involving racism on social media from the locker room. It would be difficult to imagine the broadcast ignoring that development.

Yet the game ended without ESPN's broadcast ever reporting on Carrington's post.

ESPN did not respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital/OutKick asking about its coverage and whether the broadcast team was aware of the post.

A person familiar with ESPN's broadcast plans told OutKick on background that the broadcast addressed Carrington’s Flagrant 2 foul and ejection during the game, but did not plan to address off-court developments during the remainder of the broadcast.

The broadcast eventually showed another replay of the incident during the second half, but only while comparing it to a separate hard foul that was nowhere near as egregious.

It's not difficult to surmise why this incident wouldn't be of immediate interest to ESPN. It complicates the network's preferred narrative.

According to several ESPN commentators, the WNBA has a racial problem. They say Clark, Cunningham, and their white fans are co-opting the WNBA to spew hatred toward Black women and lesbians. It's all a lie.

The reality is quite obvious. Some of the Black women in the league and many of the people covering it are jealous of and bitter toward the popularity of Clark and Cunningham. Thus, they try to cope with their popularity by blaming it on racism and white privilege.

Carrington's hard foul is more proof, visible proof, of who the real bigots and aggressors are. It's just not the group ESPN wants its audience to think.

In fact, it's an open question who will be the first ESPN personality to defend Carrington and blame Cunningham and/or racism. Some of the options include Monica McNutt, David Dennis Jr., Chiney Ogwumike, and Stephen A. Smith.

We will go with McNutt.

Still, anyone dealing in good faith knows the truth. Carrington is a dirty player. She committed a dangerous foul. She is not a victim of racism. She is an aggressor who seemingly has a serious issue with white women.

When a team seemingly has it all but falls short or can’t put it together, it becomes increasingly frustrating for fans and sports bettors alike. There are a few teams like this in the NFL, but one that seems to keep knocking on the door of being elite but coming up short is the Los Angeles Chargers. Do we think they can get over the hump this season?

Last Year

The Chargers were one of the better teams last year, but their season ended on a bit of a sour note. The team went 11-6 overall with losses to the Giants, Commanders, Colts, Jaguars, Texans, and Broncos. They also lost to the Patriots in the playoffs, showing almost no life at all on offense. Justin Herbert, their quarterback, has now gone 0-3 in the postseason with almost no impressive performances. He has to make some progress from last year’s 16-3 loss if they can make it back to the postseason.

Offseason additions and subtractions

If anyone is going to break Herbert out of the frustrating postseason performances, the Chargers are hoping it will be Mike McDaniel. I’m not really a McDaniel fan. He is going to be the offensive coordinator after being a head coach seemingly more interested in fashion and bad jokes for the Dolphins. However, I will give him that the Dolphins offense, when healthy, was dynamic. Herbert is a better quarterback than anyone McDaniel had. They did lose Odafe Oweh to free agency, but they re-signed Khalil Mack and then drafted Akheem Mesidor with their first-round pick. They also upgraded their center, which should go with an already strong offensive line.

Roster

I like the mixture of players the Chargers have. The offense should be interesting with Herbert and McDaniel teaming up. I think that McDaniel will absolutely try everything and anything to get Herbert rolling. Omarion Hampton was solid in his rookie season, but injuries did derail it a bit. I don’t think he will be De’Von Achane good, but he should be decent. Ladd McConkey was spectacular for the Chargers and will be the main target for Herbert once again. I don’t see a ton of standout players on the defensive side of the ball, but if anyone can get the most out of them, it is head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Betting Outlook

In six seasons as a head coach, Harbaugh has had exactly one season where his team didn’t make the playoffs, and one season where he didn’t win at least 11 games. The 49ers went 8-8 in 2014, and he then left the team to go coach at Michigan. They have a total of 9.5 games this year, and I’m not sure why we would want to bet against Harbaugh. I do think the offense should be better, even if the defense will probably be a little worse. Instead of that, if I play anything on the Chargers, it will be Herbert over 3650.5 passing yards. He has gone over that number in every season except for 2023, when he fell just short and played in 13 games. I also expect him to go over 25.5 touchdowns. That is just 3-3 in his career, but he hit 25 in 2022, 20 in 2023, and 23 in 2024. With McDaniel, he should be primed to increase his numbers, not decrease.

Young conservatives reveal what’s top of mind as GOP, Democrats battle for 'hopeless' Gen Z voters

Both parties see Gen Z voters as a crucial bloc that could help tip the balance in November as Republicans and Democrats battle for control of Congress, with the GOP seeking to keep President Donald Trump’s agenda moving and Democrats pushing to retake Capitol Hill and steer the legislative agenda.

And as the Democratic Party grapples with the growing appeal of democratic socialism among young voters, Republicans are seizing on the trend to rally their own young base.

But conservative college students gathered at Young America’s Foundation’s Freedom at 250 conference in Washington, D.C., told Fox News Digital that economic pressures — from inflation to the housing crunch — are not only helping drive some of their peers toward democratic socialism but that they themselves share those same concerns.

"I think a lot of young people are feeling a little bit hopeless right now, Courtney Graves, a rising senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, told Fox News Digital. "They want to be able to have a home when they grow up. They want to be able to have a nice life and a good-paying job. And what we’ve been seeing is that when those things don’t come to fruition, people tend to go to the extremes."

Graves' comments come as financial milestones such as buying a home, have been perceived as increasingly difficult for younger Americans. A Pew Research Center survey published in July found that 87% of Americans say buying a home is harder for young adults today than it was for their parents’ generation.

A recent report from Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies found that nearly half of renters spent more than 30% of their income on housing in 2024, and nearly half of Americans ages 18 to 29 received financial help to cover an expense over the past year, according to a Federal Reserve report released in May.

But Graves, who is the granddaughter of immigrants who escaped Communist-controlled Latvia, argued that embracing free-market policies is the best way for people to achieve the American Dream and that the Republican Party needs to work on its messaging to make that case clearer to young Americans.

"I think free markets are the way to have a successful and prosperous life," Graves said. "It's what leads to job growth, it's what leads to being able to buy a home at the end of the day, have a family and just overall live a great quality of life and have a strong country."

While affordability remains top of mind for Americans this midterm cycle, Brody Baker, a University of Iowa student, praised President Donald Trump for bringing more accountability to the White House compared to former President Joe Biden's presidency.

"I think we get more clarity of what's happening with the United States as of today," Baker said.

"With the administration being able to say, 'hey, we have some criticisms,' Baker said, "there's some issues with gas being so high, with how the economy, for some it's hurting a lot, and for some, it's hurting a little."

For University of Minnesota senior Jackson Barrick, pocketbook concerns are just one slice of the pie.

He pointed to the country's immigration and border security policies and foreign policy as issues weighing most heavily on him. Barrick said Trump has done a "fantastic" job with his immigration enforcement agenda.

"I think it's a really good step in terms of making sure that we have a good future going forward in the United States and protecting the homeland," Barrick said.

But college students are also worried about a newer issue: artificial intelligence.

Nick Kammerzell, a recent University of Georgia graduate, said AI is the issue that most concerns him about America’s future.

"I think that it's very scary," Kammerzell said. "I think one of the biggest things that I'm concerned about with the AI issue is censorship and bias within AI. I think a lot of young people are becoming very dependent on it as their source of truth."

"I think there's a lot of opportunities for abuse and manipulation with that," Kammerzell added, arguing the technology could potentially be used to warp people's opinions.

Young Americans are also more skeptical of AI than older generations. A Pew Research Center survey published in June found that 48% of adults ages 18 to 29 expect AI to have a negative impact on society over the next two decades, compared with 37% of those 50 and older. Younger adults were also more likely to worry that AI could negatively affect their own lives.

Baker also expressed concerns over the algorithms created by social media companies.

"You are given by Instagram — all these big platforms — your algorithm, your viewings, and you’re leaned towards, and you push towards a certain agenda, or you’re pushed towards a certain idea," Baker said, arguing this is creating staunch political divides with Americans.

Not directly in most cases. Rather than trying to search the dark web yourself, it is safer to rely on breach notices, account alerts, credit reports and reputable dark web monitoring tools. In real life, SSN exposure usually shows up first through warning signs like a breach notice, a strange credit inquiry or suspicious account activity.

What are the first signs your SSN may be exposed?

Some warning signs are obvious, and others are easy to dismiss until they pile up.

Watch for things like:

A data breach notice from an employer, insurer, bank, retailer, school or healthcare provider
Unfamiliar credit inquiries or new accounts on your credit report
Alerts about loans, buy-now-pay-later activity, utility accounts or address changes you did not authorize
IRS, Social Security or state agency notices that do not match your recent activity

A fraud alert tells lenders to take extra steps to verify identity before opening new accounts. It is not as strong as a freeze, but it can still be a useful layer of protection.

Change passwords on key accounts

Start with your primary email account, then update passwords for banking, retirement, shopping, payment and healthcare logins. Use a reputable password manager to create and securely store strong, unique passwords for every account. Turn on multifactor authentication wherever possible. This matters because many identity theft cases begin with account takeover, not only new account fraud.

Monitor tax, government and benefits activity

If your SSN is compromised, watch for signs of tax fraud or benefits misuse. Unexpected mail, rejected tax filings or notices about claims or services you did not request should be investigated immediately.

'Dallas' star Linda Gray reveals the bizarre way Larry Hagman avoided kissing scenes

Linda Gray is ready to kiss and tell.

The actress, who played Sue Ellen Ewing, the glamorous, famously troubled wife of villain J.R. Ewing on "Dallas," is teaming up with Julien's Auctions for "Ladies of the '80s," which goes live Aug. 12.

The sale gives bidders the chance to own costumes, props, personal archives and other rare memorabilia from some of the decade's most beloved television stars. It features two of Gray's original "Dallas" scripts from the episodes surrounding the infamous "Who Shot J.R.?" saga.

ANN-MARGRET, 85, REVEALS THE HABIT THAT KEEPS HER FEELING FOREVER YOUNG

Ahead of the auction, Gray looked back on her "Dallas" years, including the less-than-romantic kissing scenes she shared with her on-screen husband, Larry Hagman, who died in 2012 at 81.

"The first time we kissed, he had a mouthful of peanut butter," the actress told Fox News Digital. "I thought, 'Oh no.' And I had to keep going with this kiss. The camera didn't know what was going on. But here I was, kissing him with peanut butter. I almost killed him. I was like, 'You are so bad and very inappropriate, Larry.' And he didn't care. He just kept laughing. He thought that was funny."

"And then it was onions," said the 85-year-old. "It was kissing him with peanut butter, onions, whatever he could find in a jar. That wasn't some romantic thing. On camera, it looked pretty good, but that was not my reality."

Gray later discovered that Hagman wasn't a fan of on-screen kisses. Rather than endure the awkward moments, he turned them into practical jokes.

"He had told me quite honestly that he didn't like kissing scenes," said Gray. "And I thought, 'Well, we're going to be kissing a lot!' So when there was a kissing scene, Larry cringed, just cringed. He did not like it. But I think the pranks, psychologically, were his way of getting over the anxiety of having to kiss me on camera."

The "Dallas" set was notorious for its practical jokes, and everyone got caught in the crossfire.

"It was a daily prank, if you can imagine," said Gray. "And you never knew who it was going to come from. But it was mainly Larry. Larry was the prankster. I remember there was one episode where Sue Ellen was in the hospital. I was attached to all kinds of tubes and things on my wrists, arms and nose — all this hospital stuff. Larry came in, and he was supposed to talk to Sue Ellen. And Sue Ellen was out of it. She wasn't speaking, which was great for me."

"So Larry sits beside my bed and starts telling Sue Ellen how much he loves her," she shared. "Very soap opera dialogue. He's going, 'Oh, Sue Ellen!' and I'm lying there with my eyes closed, my eyes rolling underneath my eyelids. Then the door opens again. I thought, 'Who is in this scene that I didn't know about?' It's Patrick Duffy. He stands next to Larry and says, 'I did not know this was in the scene. Would it help if we sang that old song we used to sing?' Larry says, 'Yes.' And then the two of them started singing this very inappropriate song. I can't even repeat the words to you."

"I just burst out laughing," she continued. "The tube came flying out of my nose. I was totally blindsided. I thought I had ruined the scene, but everyone just started laughing hysterically. That was just how it was every day."

Hagman's practical jokes were one thing. Facing Texas women in real life was another altogether.

"I was at a Dallas hotel for an event," she recalled. "I went to the ladies' room to put on lipstick. Next to me was this lovely lady with a little Judith Leiber bag. She opened it to put on her lipstick. I glanced down, and there was a gun in her purse. That was all she had in it: a gun and lipstick. I thought, 'Oh boy, I'm in Texas. Who carries a gun around?' So I said, 'Excuse me, is that a gun?' Really stupid, I know. She said, 'Of course, darling. This is Texas!'"

"I had never been to Dallas in my life," she reflected. "I remember landing in Texas. Everything was beige and flat. I thought, 'I've got to know the women here.' And where do the wealthy women of Texas go? Neiman Marcus, of course, to get their hair done. And that's what I did. I remember seeing big, big hair. It was unlike anything I saw in California. These women dressed a certain way. Their shoes were always very stylish. And apparently, they carried guns in their tiny evening bags."

Gray got a crash course in Texas high society over one unforgettable lunch.

"One woman invited me to lunch, and she wore a special outfit just for it," said Gray. "I didn't have any friends in California who would do that. We're having lunch, and then she looks at her watch. She says, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I have to go home. I have to fluff and fold.' I'm thinking, 'She has to do laundry? Fluff her towels and fold them?' No. She had to fluff her hair, put on her makeup and turn into the woman her husband expected."

If learning Texas customs was intimidating, keeping the show's biggest twist under wraps was downright terrifying.

The "Dallas" Season 3 finale ended with one of television's most famous cliffhangers: J.R. was shot by an unseen gunman, leaving viewers to wait eight months to learn not only who pulled the trigger but whether he survived.

Gray recalled that the writers were searching for a jaw-dropping way to end the season with a bang when one of them blurted out, "Let's just shoot the bastard." After a brief silence, everyone agreed: "What a great idea. We'll shoot him."

As "Who Shot J.R.?" became a worldwide obsession, Gray found herself fielding the question everywhere she went, including during an interview with David Hartman.

"I was not very smart, but I said, 'Yes, I do,'" Gray recalled when asked whether she knew the shooter's identity. "'I know, and one of my children knows.' After that, I thought, 'Oh my God, I just opened Pandora's box. I thought everyone was going to call my house and one of my kids would answer the phone and reveal who it was. And then it would be all over.'"

The moment the interview ended, Gray said she rushed to call home.

"I remember telling my kids, 'Somebody's going to call you, and they're going to ask you who shot J.R. You cannot answer.' My heart was racing because it all could have been ruined. But nobody called, thank God."

Decades after "Dallas" first captivated audiences, Gray said the memories were meant to be shared.

"I don't look at it as letting these items go," she said about the auction. "I look at it as sharing. There are a lot of people who still feel very connected with the show. And it feels good to share."

California AG Rob Bonta faces ‘political favor’ claims over Netflix-linked $1M trail in Paramount suit

California Attorney General Rob Bonta faced calls Friday from Republican challenger Michael Gates and the California GOP for an investigation into whether political funding connected to Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings' family influenced the 12-state lawsuit Bonta filed in federal court in California to block Paramount's $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Gates, the Republican nominee for California attorney general, told Fox News Digital the financial relationship warranted an investigation.

"Rob Bonta has turned his taxpayer-funded office into a favor factory for his political bosses and donors. He's pursuing politically-motivated litigation against a competitor for a company that's bankrolled his PAC," Gates said.

"This reeks of corruption, which has been an all-too-common pattern for him, and further shows why he's wholly unfit to serve as our state's top law enforcement officer. This all warrants an investigation into his activities to uncover the full truth about Bonta's conduct," he said.

Campaign-finance records reviewed by Fox News Digital show Hastings' wife, Patty Quillin, contributed $1 million to Smart Justice California Action Fund on March 16, 2022. Fox News Digital reported in 2022 that the independent committee was working to boost Bonta and other progressive prosecutors.

A subsequent California filing shows Smart Justice contributed $150,000 on May 4, 2022, to a committee called Communities for Justice Supporting Rob Bonta for Attorney General 2022.

California Republican Party Chairwoman Corrin Rankin told Fox News Digital the circumstances raised questions about Bonta’s motives.

"This smells like Sacramento at its worst," Rankin said. "Rob Bonta takes Netflix money, then turns around and uses his office to kneecap a Netflix rival. With federal investigations, arrests and guilty pleas already piling up in California’s one-party Democrat rule, is this about consumer protection or another political favor?"

Los Angeles attorney Elizabeth Barcohana, a California GOP delegate and chair of the party’s Subcommittee for Jewish Engagement, pointed Fox News Digital to an X post alleging Bonta’s challenge was intended to benefit Netflix.

"CA AG @AGRobBonta’s lawsuit to block the Paramount-WB merger is a corrupt political favor to Netflix to protect its streaming monopoly," Barcohana said.

Bonta's press office rejected the allegations in a statement to Fox News Digital, pointing to the office's February announcement that it was examining potential purchases of Warner Bros. by either Netflix or Paramount.

"The lawsuit against Paramount resulted from clear cut antitrust analysis, based on the facts and the law," Bonta's press office said. "In February 2026, our office announced an investigation into the purchase of Warner Bros. by either Netflix or Paramount."

"Following our investigation, we concluded that a lawsuit was necessary to protect competition and consumer choice. Our office's decision to file a lawsuit is always based on the facts, the law, and the protection of Californians."

The response did not directly address Fox News Digital's questions about possible communications with Netflix, Hastings or Quillin, whether Bonta considered recusal or whether the office disputed the campaign-finance figures.

Bonta's complaint alleged the merger would give the combined company approximately 27% of wide-release theatrical film distribution and basic-cable channel licensing.

The Justice Department reached the opposite conclusion after an eight-month investigation involving more than 2 million documents. Federal antitrust officials determined the transaction was unlikely to harm competition and could create a stronger streaming alternative to Netflix, Amazon and Disney.

Britain’s competition regulator cleared the acquisition Thursday, leaving Bonta’s state-led litigation as the deal’s principal remaining regulatory obstacle. Paramount agreed not to close until five days after a ruling on the merits of June 2027, with a federal trial scheduled for March.

DAVID MARCUS: Don't blame conservatives. It was the left that canceled Hasan Piker

The American left just got a taste of its own politically correct cancellation medicine as controversial podcaster and recent Democratic Party kingmaker, Hasan Piker, had his speaking engagement at the University of Washington taken off the calendar for reasons that can only be related to his, shall we say, unorthodox rhetoric.

While not explicitly attacking Hasan The Hun, as he calls himself, the school said in a statement: "Going forward, procedures will be updated to ensure the standards we have for university-hosted events like the Speaker Series are met, particularly so that we can help elevate the level of dialogue on divisive topics during a polarized time in our country."

In plain English, what they are saying is, "We have no idea if this lunatic who dresses up like Chairman Mao is going to repeat his claims that America deserved 9/11, or that Israelis are parasites, or that Stalin is misunderstood, and we don’t want to be responsible for it."

MARK HALPERIN CALLS HASAN PIKER A 'HORRIBLE PERSON' AS DEMOCRATS FACE PRESSURE TO DISTANCE FROM STREAMER

Fair enough. Even though the vast majority of conservatives and right-leaning organizations, including Turning Point USA, which knows a thing or two about having college speakers canceled, have supported Piker’s right to speak, the school is, at least, consistent in its censorship.

However, the same cannot be said for the Democratic politicians and liberal media, who have been whitewashing Piker as an important young voice who deserves to be heard and now are silent themselves when he is the victim of silencing and cancellation.

Piker said as much this week after the cancellation, complaining that, "If this had happened to Charlie Kirk or if this had happened to Ben Shapiro, this would be the number one news story on [Conservative media] for a month. Will liberal outlets cover it with the same intensity?"

No, Hasan, they will not, because they are glad it is happening. They are tired of having to twist themselves in knots to defend your offensive blatherings just because DSA candidates can use you to gin up votes in low-turnout primaries.

SOME DEMOCRATS PRIVATELY DISGUSTED BY HASAN PIKER BUT ARE AFRAID TO PUBLICLY CRITICIZE HIM, HOUSE DEM CLAIMS

Even his closest pals are realizing that Piker is general-election poison, as Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who hosted Piker at his victory party, has been oddly quiet about the cancellation.

It all makes you wonder why Piker is too toxic for the University of Washington, yet a valued and treasured voice at so many Democratic campaign events.

The left-wing politicians and pundits have spent weeks insisting Piker is a vital voice, especially for the young. But they won’t defend him when he’s silenced here, because they’re actually happy to have academia push him to the side so they don’t have to.

Meanwhile, today it is conservatives calling out the censorship of Piker for two primary reasons. First, the right always defends free speech, no matter the side, and second, they want Piker to have as big a megaphone as possible. They want to run against him in every corner and crevice of great America.

HASAN PIKER CALLS FOR DEMOCRATS WHO OPPOSE ABDUL EL-SAYED TO BE 'PUNISHED'

This Piker situation puts El-Sayed, along with Troy Jackson and James Talarico, progressives running for Senate in Maine and Texas, respectively, in a very tough spot. It is reasonable to ask if we will ever see Piker on their campaign trails.

To be sure, Piker is not without some leverage here. If he is being sidelined by the Democratic Party powers that be, he can appeal directly to his vaunted millions of young radicals to stand up against the party. But that is unlikely to happen.

Far more likely is that Piker knows and understands that his value is almost entirely in primaries. General elections are a time for the communist bear to hibernate, not to hunt.

No, Hasan Piker is not going to go rogue. He will play ball until his bomb-throwing rhetoric is needed again.

For Republicans, especially in the Michigan race between El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers, there is still plenty of Piker fodder to use, even if he currently is slowly backing into the bushes like the Homer Simpson meme.

But, if Piker does want to buck the liberals and refuse to be silenced, I am sure there are plenty of conservative groups or events who will be happy to let him speak. Put another way, they're willing to give him the rope he needs to expose his offensive communist ideology as the rotten nonsense at the core of the New Democrats that it truly is.

Newest NFL Hall of Famer needles Bill Belichick over Jordon Hudson relationship during speech

Adam Vinatieri, a four-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday and took a swipe at his former head coach during his speech.

Vinatieri played under Bill Belichick from 2000 to 2005 and nailed a few of the most clutch field goals in NFL history as he helped the Patriots to three Super Bowl titles.

In his Hall of Fame speech, Vinatieri made a joke about Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Hudson.

"Thank you for demanding excellence every single day. Your preparation, discipline and attention to detail shaped far more than my football career," he said of Belichick. "Unfortunately, Bill couldn’t make it here today. There’s a lot going on at UNC right now.

"He may be on a recruiting trip right now, looking for the next Lawrence Taylor. I thought it was because training camp had already started. But in truth, it’s because he’s judging his girlfriend’s cheerleading competition."

Vinatieri said, regardless of the jokes, he believed Belichick to be one of the greatest coaches in NFL history.

For what it’s worth, Hudson is a renowned cheerleader. The 25-year-old has won cheerleading championships as a coach and competitor. Hudson most recently won a world title back in April with Belichick watching.

Hasan Piker, a close ally of Abdul El-Sayed, is calling for "Marxist-Leninist" punishment for those who criticize Michigan’s Democratic Senatorial candidate. As radicals and antisemites like Piker flood the Democratic Party, establishment figures are struggling to justify their alliance with extremist candidates.

Ironically, Democrats are now fulfilling the false narrative that they used against President Donald Trump after the Charlottesville protests. They are maintaining that there are "many fine people" in the Democratic Socialists of America party, despite its leaders seeking to destroy our constitutional system, open our borders, defund the police and embrace virtual anarchy. Now, some of these fine people are calling for moderates to be purged as radicals take over the Democratic Party.

In 2017, the media manufactured a controversy by suggesting that Trump had praised neo-Nazis and Klansmen in 2017 as "fine people" in Charlottesville, Va. It was demonstrably false, but became the accepted truth in the media. In reality, Trump condemned the neo-Nazis, and the statement about "fine people on both sides" was in reference to the people on both sides of the debate over the removal of historic statues.

That narrative took on an added hypocrisy when some of the loudest voices later endorsed a candidate with an actual Nazi tattoo who allegedly assaulted women, mocked wounded veterans and praised terrorists. However, he promised to deliver Maine and bring figures like Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren back to power.

Democratic Party leaders like Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg brush off El-Sayed’s allies, including Mohammad Baqer Qazwini, a prominent Muslim cleric who gave a sermon that called for followers to vote for El-Sayed while also calling upon them to pray for the death of President Donald Trump and to celebrate the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Then there is the Democratic House candidate in New York, Darializa Avila Chevalier, a prison abolitionist who boasted about how she wiped her hands on the American flag in lieu of a napkin.

Chevalier and other DSA candidates are being welcomed in the Democratic Party despite anti-American views and a DSA platform calling for the destruction of our constitutional system, including scrapping the Supreme Court, the presidency and the Senate. Many are also overwhelmingly anti-Israel, with many, like Piker, displaying virulent antisemitism.

When asked about the extreme agenda of these candidates, Schumer and others repeat the mantra that they need to win in the upcoming elections. In other words, the DSA is opposed to the core institutions and values of this country, but it could be useful in returning them to power.

What is interesting is that the establishment does not appear to care what these radicals represent for their party, but the radicals care deeply about what the establishment represents. This week, former DNC Vice Chair David Hogg told establishment figures that the "big tent" of his party is not big enough for them. When asked about Democratic moderates, Hogg replied, "They don’t have the right values."

Piker has even grander plans for our post-constitutional republic, calling for mass arrests, demanding pledges from establishment figures to "arrest and prosecute every prominent member of the Trump administration" who engaged in what he views as corruption as well as "every ICE agent who committed crimes on the job."

Piker also wants to purge any Democrats who do not support El-Sayed, calling them "haters" who deserve to be punished.

"There are haters in our ranks. Notice how whenever someone comes out and says, ‘Yeah, that’s actually a bad association,’ immediately it’s weaponized by the Republicans. You can’t be out here saying like, ‘Oh, I’m a centrist Democrat. And I think Abdul is a bridge too far.’ That must be punished."

Piker, who likes to parade around in a Mao jacket, seems to be longing for the good old days of party purges under Stalin and his contemporaries in the Comintern.

He notably accused critics of the sin of "factionalism." Since the Jacobins of the French Revolution, factionalism has been the scourge of revolutionaries. In my book, "Rage and the Republic," I discuss the difference between the American and French Revolutions. Where James Madison saw factions as a natural part of a democratic system, the Jacobins sought them as a traitorous and reactionary element. Madison saw compromise as the best solution to factions, while the Jacobins saw the guillotine as the final solution.

Piker is right out of that Jacobin tradition, calling moderate Democrats "Koch payroll liberals" and "irredeemable." (Notably, the Jacobins also pushed for some of the same DSA demands, such as a unicameral legislature).

Of course, conservatives can show the same intolerance for RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), but there is an added menacing element to communists calling for mass expulsion or punishment of moderates from their party. It is chillingly familiar.

Mao regularly purged the Communist Party of those not following the party lines, declaring, "Serious offenders should be punished by law, and when they are Party members they should also be dealt with according to Party discipline."

Establishment figures continue to use the "big tent" narratives to brush off questions about the radical agenda and associations of these candidates. The only thing that they have in common is the desire for power. Once these candidates win, figures like Schumer will discover that this tent is not nearly as big as they think.

Bride cautions others before wedding day about risky beauty treatments: 'Pain wasn't worth it'

A bride-to-be who wanted to look "like a princess" on her wedding day ended up looking far worse than that after a severe allergic reaction to a fake eyelash treatment.

Polly Bibby, 26, an illustrator, decided to try classic eyelash extensions ahead of her big day compared to her usual minimal makeup look.

She had a patch test done, she said, according to Kennedy News & Media — and since she suffered no reaction, she went ahead with the procedure in early July, before her wedding day.

After getting the treatment done — which cost her about $88, she said — she was initially happy with her "dressier" appearance.

Just a few hours after the appointment, however, her eyes became watery and sore. She shrugged it off as symptoms of hay fever.

But when her eyes started to sting and then stick together due to a yellow discharge, alarm bells began going off. She called an urgent care medical line and was advised to head to the nearest hospital emergency room.

A shocking photo shows her red, raw and swollen eyes. After being seen by a nurse in the eye unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Hinchingbrooke, Cambridge, it was confirmed she'd suffered an allergic reaction to the eyelash extensions.

She was given a course of antibiotics and antihistamines, and told to wait three days for the swelling to go down before getting the false lashes removed.

"To keep the eyes safe, [artificial] lashes should be applied by an experienced aesthetician in a sanitary setting, with chemicals that are safe for your skin," said Rebecca J. Taylor, M.D., a board-certified ophthalmologist in Nashville, in a statement on the American Academy of Ophthalmology website.

"The procedure does come with risks, namely trauma to or infection of the eyelid or cornea; allergic reaction to the glue; and permanent or temporary loss of eyelashes."

Infection can also result, Taylor said, from inadequate hygiene in the salon or damage to the eye during application.

Even though her skin is now slowly healing, Bibby of Cambridgeshire, in the United Kingdom, feared her eyes would still be red by the time she said "I do" to her to 29-year-old fiancé, Benjamin May.

She said she's been sharing her experience to warn other brides about getting certain treatments so close to their big day.

"I don't wear that much makeup," she told Kennedy News & Media. "Getting married is the biggest day of your life, so I just wanted to test out different makeup and actually feel like a princess for the day."

She said it was a trial for her wedding, as she'd "never had my eyelashes done before."

About four or five hours after the appointment, her partner looked at her eyes, she said, and thought they were a little red.

"By that evening, they had gone red, raw and were stinging. The only way I can describe [how I looked] is the man from 'The Goonies' with the big puffy eyes called Sloth. I just didn't look like myself. I looked like a different person."

She said her eyes were "burning," and "it got to the point where I was losing my vision and I couldn't see at all."

Every time she blinked, she said, her "eyes were sticking together as I had discharge building up [in] my eyes ... a sticky yellow discharge pretty similar to when babies have conjunctivitis."

She said the medical staff who treated her were "quite taken back and shocked by it."

During the removal of the false lashes, she said it felt like "acid was being poured onto her face."

She said, "I was screaming, crying and tensing up. My eyes are still red, scabby and very 'rashy.' The eyelids themselves are really swollen, and I've still got quite blurry vision."

She also said, "When people joke around and say things [can] go wrong [on your wedding day] — I didn't realize it would happen to me."

Ahead of her wedding, she said, "I won't be getting eyelash extensions for the big day. Going through that pain was not worth it. If I knew in hindsight, I'd just use mascara."
