Thunder to lose Chet Holmgren for at least 2 months with knee injury amid string of early-season NBA injuries

The Oklahoma City Thunder will have to navigate the next couple of months without one of their key players.

Chet Holmgren is expected to miss between eight to ten weeks with a right knee injury, adding to a troubling string of injury news across the NBA early in the season. Oklahoma City was already braced to be without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace for potentially the rest of the regular season. The Thunder said Holmgren began experiencing knee discomfort Sunday.

After discussions with multiple specialists, Holmgren underwent a biological treatment Friday for a small tear in his patellar tendon.

Wallace also had surgery Friday for a labral tear in his left shoulder. The surgery was performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles with Thunder medical personnel present.

The guard will be evaluated again before the end of the regular season.

Williams sustained a broken left fibula and dislocated left ankle Sunday. The Thunder already said after his surgery he also would be evaluated again before the end of the regular season.

Earlier this week, ESPN reported that Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards was expected to undergo an arthroscopic procedure to address discomfort in his right knee. The procedure is expected to sideline the three-time All-Star for up to two months.

Brewers manager reveals his biggest challenge during championship parade was not peeing himself

A championship parade comes after all the hard work is done ... or at least that's what most of us would think.

However, Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy revealed that he was put through a serious endurance test during his team's victory lap through Cream City (which sounds dirty, but I promise it isn't ... though somewhere out there, it might be. Who knows?).

The Brewers' skipper hopped on stage at the end of the parade route where he took a second to talk to Brewers play-by-play man Brian Anderson.

"I had to pee as bad as anybody has had to pee," Murphy said.

JuJu Watkins says she's dreamed of her first basket since ACL injury as USC looks to end title drought

JuJu Watkins, one of the brightest young stars in women’s college basketball, is back on the court. The Southern California guard was sidelined last season while rehabbing a torn ACL.

Watkins' first two seasons with the USC Trojans saw her score an average of 25.6 points per game. Now, she returns to a talented supporting cast as the No. 3 Trojans pursue their first national championship since 1984.

"It’s on my mind every day," Watkins said. "So much anticipation has gone into this year. I want it really badly, but also in a healthy way. I just want to have fun and really enjoy this year."

Watkins added that she's already imagined what it will feel like to see her first basket go in.

Watkins scored 18 points in 22 minutes during USC’s recent exhibition win over California, offering an early glimpse of what her return could mean.

She will share the backcourt with Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jazzy Davidson, who averaged 17.9 points last season. Although this will be their first season playing together, the duo began building chemistry while Watkins recovered from the injury she suffered in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. She could often be seen encouraging Davidson from the sideline.

"She saw me being hard on myself and I think she saw a little bit of her in me," Davidson said, "and so she kind of knew what it was like going through that. Being able to build the friendship that we were able to build, it’s a huge blessing."

USC’s stockpile of talent includes guard Saniyah Hall, who had 23 points, six rebounds and five steals in the Trojans’ exhibition, as well as forward Sara Okeke, one of three five-star recruits to join the roster.

"They have proven that they’re going to be really impactful players at a high level," coach Lindsay Gottlieb said.

Last season, Watkins would set up chairs in the locker room for the team talk on the road. It was one of the small ways she found to be useful without being on the court.

"I was able to take on a leadership role for sure, and I can’t say I really owned that role prior to that," she said. "Being able to do that and also see the game from a different perspective and seeing how can I help my team really helped grow my IQ and leadership skills."

Three killed in midair helicopter collision near Oregon airport, authorities confirm

Three people were killed when two helicopters collided midair near an Oregon airport Thursday afternoon, crashing in a field and prompting authorities to close a nearby highway.

A Robinson R22 helicopter and an Airbus H125 helicopter collided near McMinnville Municipal Airport around 2:15 p.m. local time, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) told Fox News Digital that the collision occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. local time.

The agency identified the Airbus helicopter as an AS350B2 operating on a maintenance flight and the Robinson R22 Beta as conducting an instructional flight.

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that all three people aboard both helicopters died in the crash.

The two victims aboard the Robinson R22 helicopter were identified as 22-year-old flight instructor Maddie Aasbo, of Texas, and 31-year-old student pilot Christopher James Joughin, of the United Kingdom, according to the sheriff's office.

Joughin's identity was confirmed Friday after authorities initially withheld his name pending notification of next of kin.

The sole occupant of the Airbus helicopter was identified as Tyler Delane Sturdevant, 38, of Newberg, Oregon.

The collision occurred in a field off Oregon Route 233, about one mile west of Dayton, according to Oregon Department of Transportation spokesperson Mindy McCartt.

McCartt told Fox News Digital that the highway and some nearby county roads were closed at the request of emergency responders. She said there was no estimated reopening time.

McMinnville Airport Manager John Paskell told Fox News Digital that the collision occurred off airport property and did not disrupt airport operations. The airport remained open without closures or restrictions.

Paskell said he understood that both helicopters were based at the airport but could not confirm what activities they were conducting or how the collision occurred.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) responded to the scene and are leading the ongoing investigation into the collision, according to the sheriff's office.

The NTSB said Friday that two investigators were traveling to the crash site. Once the wreckage is documented, it will be recovered and moved to a secure facility for further examination.

Investigators will examine the pilots, aircraft and operating conditions, including flight tracking data, air traffic control communications, maintenance records, weather conditions and the pilots' flight experience.

They will also review witness statements, electronic devices and any available surveillance video, including doorbell camera footage.

The agency is asking anyone with information relevant to the collision to contact investigators at witness@ntsb.gov.

The cause of the collision has not been determined.

The NTSB expects to release a preliminary report within 30 days containing factual information gathered during the initial investigation.

A final report identifying the probable cause and any contributing factors is expected within 12 to 24 months.

You’re supposed to be standing still. When I played, that was the rules. They could’ve changed the s--- now, but I guarantee he got fined."

California woman accused of killing trans son-in-law puts blame on husband in new docs: reports

One month after she and her husband were arrested for the alleged murder of their trans New York Times executive son-in-law, Shili Chen claims in new legal documents that her husband is the one to blame, according to reports.

Shili Chen, 77, and Shouyong Zhang were arrested Sept. 26 for allegedly shooting Jonathan McKinsey, 40, in a crowded park in Dublin, California.

In a new bail filing, Chen’s lawyers claim the 77-year-old watched her husband fire the fatal shots at McKinsey at the Dublin Sports Grounds from inside her car, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Her lawyer, Curtis Briggs, argued that Chen only got out of the car "to protect her husband from what she feared was an assault by Mr. McKinsey," the California Post reported.

She was allegedly seen on surveillance video firing a gun at McKinsey after Zhang fired the shots that killed him.

Chen’s lawyers argued she was kept "in the dark" while Zhang planned McKinsey’s murder.

Zhang allegedly admitted to the fatal shooting just days after when video footage of the attack was shown to him, court documents obtained by Fox News Digital showed.

Zhang told police he asked his wife to drive to the park but didn’t explain why, according to the Chronicle.

Prosecutors accused the couple of "lying in wait" at the park for McKinsey before the shooting, but her lawyer claims there isn’t enough evidence to prove that.

That special circumstance has been used to hold the couple without bail.

Both Chen and Zhang are asking for pretrial release.

In a separate filing, Zhang’s public defender argued that he didn’t pose a threat because of his age and health and because the shooting was an isolated family incident.

Chen’s lawyer argues that she wasn’t the "actual killer" since she shot McKinsey when he was already dead.

Several 911 callers reported gunfire at the Dublin Sports Grounds before a Dublin Police Services sergeant arrived and found McKinsey lying face up with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses pointed police toward a black Honda Civic leaving the parking lot, leading officers to conduct a high-risk traffic stop nearby, the filings state.

Chen was driving and allegedly had a firearm in her possession when she was detained, while Zhang was in the passenger seat.

Three witnesses identified Chen and Zhang as the shooters, while surveillance video allegedly captured the couple opening fire "in concert" on McKinsey.

Police said the couple started shooting in a crowded park's parking lot with "blatant disregard for public safety," even as several children were nearby.

Police later searched the Honda and recovered a second firearm that Zhang allegedly admitted using in the shooting.

The complaint alleges the killing involved "great violence" and acts showing a "high degree of cruelty, viciousness, or callousness." Prosecutors also allege both defendants were armed or used a weapon during the killing.

McKinsey's killing came amid a bitter divorce and custody battle with Chen and Zhang's daughter, Candice Jang.

McKinsey accused Chen of directing anti-LGBTQ slurs at him and one of his children and alleged Zhang struck him in the chest while he was recovering from double mastectomy surgery, The Mercury News reported. Jang made competing allegations of domestic violence and child abuse against McKinsey, which he disputed.

Fox News Digital reviewed court dockets showing McKinsey and Jang were locked in multiple legal battles when McKinsey was killed, including competing domestic violence restraining order cases, a child custody dispute and a pending divorce.

While there has been debate over whether recent halftime performances have crossed into the political realm, fans probably should not expect the Goo Goo Dolls' Thanksgiving night show to go there.

During a September interview on "Everything Music" with producer Rick Beato, Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik said he refuses to lecture concertgoers about politics. He noted that fans from across the ideological spectrum come together for the same reason: to enjoy the show.

Rzeznik said live music remains important during politically divided times because political and religious differences take a back seat when he performs.

Hulk Hogan's widow faces negligence claim after minor was allegedly raped at son's party: report

Sky Daily, the widow of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, and her son have reportedly been named in a lawsuit that claims a minor was sexually assaulted at a party for which she supplied alcohol.

Hogan's stepson, Hayden Hitt, allegedly threw a party while Daily was at a Real American wrestling event on March 28, and Daily is accused of purchasing the alcohol despite knowing minors would be in attendance, TMZ reported.

The reported lawsuit says that a minor, identified as Jane B. Doe, was raped by a minor boy, John B. Doe, after taking a sip of a Four Loko and losing consciousness.

Hitt, reportedly, is alleged to have advertised Jane B. Doe as "free p---y" and held an "auction" to have sex with her.

John B. Doe raped her for "several hours," the reported suit claims. She retrieved a used condom but says Daily got rid of the other two as well as blood-stained sheets. Jane B. Doe claims to have suffered from vaginal and anal trauma.

Jane B. Doe is reportedly suing Daily and Hitt for negligence and John B. Doe for sexual assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

A second lawsuit filed by a separate Jane Doe claims that Hitt was repeatedly violent with her while she lived with Hitt and Daily.

Alleged screenshots of messages from Doe to Daily said Hitt "shoved me all the way from the door into the clothes rack."

"I’m sorry he’s acting out. Now is not the time to talk sense. Always wait till the morning," Daily allegedly answered, according to TMZ.

The next day, Hitt allegedly texted Jane Doe asking if she was pressing charges but unsent the message. Jane Doe is suing the mother and son for emotional distress, Hitt for battery and Daily for a civil claim related to criminal practices.

A listed spokesperson for Daily did not respond to a request for comment.

Sheriff's department gives update on Nancy Guthrie case 9 months after kidnapping

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department gave an update on the Nancy Guthrie missing person’s case Friday, saying the department continues to work with the Nancy Guthrie Task Force on DNA analysis in an effort to advance the case.

"Earlier this month, investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance this case," the department wrote in an X post. "A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all our partners to solve this case."

The law enforcement agency reminded the public that no tip is too small.

"Even the smallest piece of information could be critical to this investigation," the department said.

NANCY GUTHRIE CASE: UNCLAIMED $1.2M REWARD SUGGESTS 'VERY SMALL CIRCLE' OF SUSPECTS, RETIRED FBI AGENT SAYS

Guthrie, NBC journalist Savannah Guthrie’s mother, was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on Feb. 1.

The 84-year-old was last seen shortly before 10 p.m. Jan. 31 after a relative dropped her off at her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson.

Authorities have struggled to identify a suspect or person of interest in her disappearance despite a masked man appearing on Guthrie's Ring doorbell camera.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, in the days following Guthrie's disappearance, confirmed that she was taken, telling reporters during a news briefing, "She did not leave on her own. We know that."

Authorities previously released two ransom notes related to Guthrie's kidnapping in July.

Late last month, investigators said they had been made aware of a possible new ransom note in relation to Guthrie's disappearance.

"The PCSD/FBI Guthrie Task Force was recently made aware of a new possible ransom note related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation," PCSD wrote in an X post in late September.

"Investigators are also aware of social media comments regarding the note and are looking further into the information to determine its credibility."

'The View' co-hosts agree Democrats should not impeach Trump if party wins back control of Congress

"The View" co-hosts agreed with former Vice President Kamala Harris Friday that impeachment would not be a good use of the Democratic Party’s time and resources if the party wins back control of Congress in the midterm elections.

"I think that going on in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea," Harris warned Tuesday on "The Parnas Perspective" podcast. "OK, just to be honest with you. Because we have limited resources, and I think the energy and the resources need to be put into accountability, need to be put into investigations. And that's where the time should be spent. Remember, I was in the Senate for the last go-round and the votes aren't there, right? So, that's how I feel."

After playing a clip of Harris' comments, "The View" co-hosts agreed with her assessment.

"In terms of Trump, no, I don't think that's what should be on the agenda," co-host Sunny Hostin said. "And then he's got a plan for the first 100 hours, which would include, you know, just undoing a lot of unpopular Trump policies. So, I think there is a plan in place that Democrats have, and it may not include impeaching Trump."

"I think that Democrats have to be realistic of what's achievable," co-host Ana Navarro said. "We are four days away from the election. So, before we start talking about what Democrats are going to do once they win, they've got to make sure they win.

"People have to focus not on all of the conversation about impeachment and what is going to happen but rather on getting out the vote and getting people to the polls so that the American people decide who they want in power in the House and in the Senate.

"There's a limit to what Democrats are going to be able to do even if they win the House, even if they win the House and the Senate, because Donald Trump is still president," she continued. "Legislation in this country needs to be signed by the president. If not, it needs to have a veto-proof majority. And I think that's going to be very difficult to achieve. I'm completely against impeachment.

"There's 100 other ways to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable," Navarro added. "Impeachment is an exercise that's moot if you don't have the 67 votes in the Senate required to indict."

Joy Behar pointed to former President Richard Nixon's resignation from office after Republican lawmakers warned him that he lacked sufficient Senate support to avoid conviction if impeached and said of Trump, "If we don't have the votes to convict, there's no point in impeaching."

DEM MAKING SENATE COMEBACK BID SAYS HE WOULDN'T SUPPORT A TRUMP IMPEACHMENT PUSH

Sara Haines also agreed, arguing that many of Trump’s supporters are now angry with him for breaking campaign promises and that Democrats could capitalize on their dissatisfaction by delivering on their own promises.

"It's important to recognize the moment," she said. "Donald Trump was elected and promised things he never touched. He's been remodeling, redecorating, working to revenge, all the things. The voters were left high and dry, which is why we're seeing some red states flip full to blue," she said. "That's why we are watching this campaigning.

"They need to see someone get in there, hold them accountable, do the investigations, fine," Haines continued. "But really show the American people that what they promised, to fix all these things, that immediately there's action taken. Even if it can't get past the president. Spin the wheels. Show the people that you are putting up policy, that you are taking things to vote, that you are actually acting for the people that put you there."

"Impeachment is not where the focus should be," Alyssa Farah Griffin said. "It costs actually a lot of money to do a trial, do the investigation.

"What I think is important is there are day one things that would be beneficial for all Americans and a lot of Republicans would be on board with that a Democratic Congress could do," she continued.

"Repealing Trump's tariffs, that is the power of the purse controlled by Congress and trying to wind down or pause the war in Iran. Those are things you should get Republican votes to do. That will bring down people's fuel prices. Those are where the focus should be."

Earlier this month, veteran Democratic strategist James Carville also warned Democrats against impeaching Trump if the party wins control of Congress in the midterms.

According to multiple reports, Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov — the reigning Hart Memorial Trophy-winner as the NHL's MVP — has informed the team that he will not re-sign and would like a trade.

Go ahead and pick your jaw up off the floor after that one.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that Kucherov had informed the team and his teammates of his plans to sign elsewhere when his 8-year, $76 million deal ends after this season.

On top of that, Friedman reports that the two-time Hart Trophy winner and two-time Stanley Cup champion has asked the club for a trade, though Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois and Kucherov’s agent, Dan Milstein, declined to comment.

The prevailing thought was that Kucherov would almost certainly re-sign with the Lightning. He's been their centerpiece through three runs to the Stanley Cup Final and the team is still playing well. They're currently third in the Atlantic Division, just two points out of first place.

The problem may be that the Lightning will want a hefty return for such a high-end player, while potential trade partners will likely want assurances that paying a high price will secure Kucherov's services beyond this season.

An Oregon elementary school teacher who fought a teenage gunman during a deadly school shooting earlier this month has broken her silence, describing the tragedy as a loss she will carry with her forever.

Cassidy Schutz, a certified learning specialist at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, released her first public statement Friday through Bend-La Pine Schools, just over two weeks after the Oct. 15 attack left three children and a teacher dead.

"There are no words to describe the depth of sadness I am feeling following the events of October 15th. This is not a story. This is a horrific and heartbreaking tragedy, and it is our real lives," Schutz said in the statement.

McKinney, Texas, is ground zero for the migration of voters from California to Texas over the past several years. On Election Day, it is these newcomers who may well tip the balance not just in the Senate and governor's races.

They may also decide whether the once ruby red Lone Star State will continue to grow bluer.

I met Oren at The Celt on the picture-postcard town square, where we played a friendly game of pool. He moved from California about a year ago "because it’s a lot cheaper to live" but is voting for Democrats because he believes that Texas needs "more social services and public transit" and more support for transgender kids.

When I gently tried to press Oren on the apparent illogic of moving away from a high-tax, big-government blue state for reasons of cost only to vote to make his new home a high-tax, big-government state, he was unmoved, almost arguing that real California progressivism has never been tried.

It turns out that Oren was not as much of an outlier as I had expected because, not long after, I met Daniel, who works at a local restaurant and moved to McKinney a few years ago with his best friend and girlfriend to start a business. He has also proudly brought his politics with him.

"It’s in the Constitution," Daniel told Fox News Digital. "We can go anywhere we want. It's meant to be that way."

When I asked him if he could understand why so many people born and raised in Texas are worried about transplants changing its politics, he shrugged and said, "Things change."

In the space of about five hours, I met two more refugees from California prepared to keep voting for Democrats. Like Oren and Daniel, they really did not see any irony in the fact that they may be recreating in Texas exactly the conditions they escaped in California.

The natives, however, do see the problem with the Californication of Texas. Terry, a longtime local in her 60s, told me, "I love to see the growth, and there’s a lot of it, but if they bring Democratic politics with them, then we stand to lose the whole thing bringing people here."

Clint, who was in town from his home just on the other side of the Oklahoma border, is worried not just about Texas turning blue through domestic migration, but even about the Sooner State eventually turning blue.

Thankfully, nobody cussed out this columnist for asking, but Clint is correct that the liberal transplants see no problem with transforming the red states they arrive in into blue states, and it's not just Texas.

Arizona and even Montana have seen influxes of liberal California voters. West Virginians have similar fears regarding their neighbors to the south in Northern Virginia, who are also attracted by the low taxes and cost of living.

In Texas, there is a kind of double-pincer political invasion because, along with the Cali converts, unchecked immigration — illegal and otherwise — over decades has also pushed the needle left in the state. The bottom line for Republicans — not just in Texas but in many red states — is that Americans are moving at stunning rates to cheaper states, which almost always means Republican states. The good news is that red states stand to gain in the Electoral College and in Congress after the next census, but that won’t matter if Democrats take them over.

EXCLUSIVE: Federal immigration officers arrested an illegal alien accused of attacking a New York City police officer Friday, ending a manhunt sparked by his release from local custody despite repeated U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer requests, Fox News Digital has learned.

Alpha Bah, an illegal immigrant from Guinea, was taken into custody at approximately 3:25 p.m. after ICE officers tracked him to a temporary residence in New York City, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official told Fox News Digital.

Officers with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) developed intelligence about Bah's last known temporary residence Friday and established surveillance in the surrounding area, the official said.

At approximately 2:22 p.m., officers spotted a man matching Bah's description leaving the residence and meeting several unidentified individuals on a nearby public street. Officers continued monitoring him rather than immediately approaching because several school-aged children were in the area.

About an hour later, officers spotted Bah alone and approached him while displaying police and ICE identification. They confirmed his identity through biographical questions, a photograph and Mobile Fortify, a biometric identification tool.

Officers informed Bah of an administrative immigration arrest warrant and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan for post-arrest processing, according to the official.

The arrest comes after Fox News Digital reported that NYC authorities released Bah despite repeated requests from federal immigration officials to hold him in custody.

ICE lodged a detainer with Queens Central Booking, but Bah was released without federal immigration authorities being notified, DHS previously said.

The case drew criticism from federal immigration officials who accused New York City's sanctuary policies of allowing Bah to return to the streets despite the pending immigration detainer.

"This illegal alien from Guinea was arrested for assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon. Rep. Tom Kean Jr., R-N.J., is responding to questions about missed congressional votes after a monthslong hospitalization for depression, saying he is "stronger than ever" as he seeks re-election in New Jersey's competitive 7th District.

Speaking on "The Fox News Rundown" podcast, Kean discussed his hospital stay earlier this year, explaining that his absence from Congress was due to a medical emergency.

"Nobody can schedule a medical emergency, and we were able to discuss and tell people while I was in the hospital that we [had] a medical situation in the family with me," he told Fox News’ Mike Emanuel.

A California father of five says his family's public charter school rejected homeschooling materials that merely mentioned God or faith, even when the books met state academic standards, forcing his family to pay out of pocket for educational resources he says other parents could access with public funds.

John Woolard told Fox News Digital he and his wife initially had no problems using a public charter school program that allowed them to educate their children at home.

But he said they eventually discovered that their curriculum choices were being scrutinized for religious content.

"Any book or curriculum purchase that we wanted to make that referenced God or faith in even, like, an adjacent sort of way was being denied," Woolard said.

He described what he called a "publisher blacklist" and said the restrictions extended beyond explicitly Christian instructional materials.

"You would think that that would be something that would be non-controversial, but those curriculum choices would be denied," he said.

For Woolard, the dispute goes beyond religious expression. As a father of five, he said, the charter school program provided a cost-effective way to tailor the curriculum to each child's individual needs.

But when the school rejected certain curriculum purchases, he said, his family was left covering the costs.

"If our curriculum choices are denied, then we have to pay for those resources. We have to pay for those curriculum choices out of pocket," Woolard told Fox News Digital.

Woolard said he pressed school officials to explain why the materials were being rejected.

"So, at the end of the day, the only objection that you have to this curriculum, our curriculum choices, is that there's a faith component to it," Woolard said he recalled asking.

He said both a teacher and principal acknowledged that the religious component was the objection.

"What that tells me is that equality only extends as far as what the government approves," he said.

Stephanie Taub, senior counsel with First Liberty Institute, characterized the policy as discriminatory toward families seeking a faith-based education during an interview with Fox News Digital.

"What we're asking here is California has a policy that singles out parents who want to give their children a faith-based education, and it excludes them from homeschooling benefits that would otherwise be available," the attorney said.

Taub said the family is seeking s after an unfavorable lower-court decision.

Woolard said he hopes the justices will ultimately force California to change its approach.

"What I really hope is for the government or for the Supreme Court to come back and tell California you got the decision wrong, and this is the way to correct it," he said.

He added that such a ruling could "break open California for a lot of families" seeking similar changes.

Taub said the Supreme Court is considering whether to take the case and that she expects to hear whether the justices will review it in the next few months.

Polish president turns plane around after 'coup' at nation’s top court

While en route to Senegal, Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki turned his plane around and returned home after police entered Poland's top court, the Constitutional Tribunal, and the tribunal’s president was suspended.

"At such a moment, the President must be in Poland," Nawrocki posted on X. "I'm interrupting my flight to Senegal. I'm returning."

Police say they secured the Tribunal after dozens of protesters gathered to demonstrate against what they called the wrongful suspension of the top court’s president by the current pro-European government.

Police said there were also dangerous objects thrown at officers outside the building.

Some protesters outside the court were seen praying, while others held posters reading "Tusk — a symbol of anti-Polish sentiment," "Down with the commies and Tusk’s regime," and "Stop destroying the state."

Poland’s top judicial bodies, including the Constitutional Tribunal, have been a major bone of contention between the current pro-European government, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and the main opposition party, national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS), which ruled the country from 2015 to 2023.

Critics accuse the PiS of imposing political control over key judicial institutions, with some reforms having led the EU to impose fines on Poland.

Nawrocki, an ally of the PiS party, refused to swear in three of six judges nominated by parliament earlier this year.

According to the tribunal’s website, Święczkowski was suspended Friday.

"Restoring the rule of law is our duty," said Tusk, who returned to power in 2023 with a promise to restore the judiciary’s independence. He posted to X, "After years of PiS-led lawlessness, this is a difficult process, sometimes painful, and it requires decisive action. There is no other way."

Since taking power, Tusk’s pro-European government’s efforts have been vetoed by two successive presidents aligned with PiS, including Nawrocki.

"Justice cannot be achieved through violence," Morawiecki said, adding that "Tusk will stop at nothing to cling to power… We do not consent to Belarusian methods in Poland!"

"It’s true: a coup d’état is underway," former PiS Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro wrote on X. "If someone were to forcibly break into the Prime Minister’s Office and take it over, we would all know what to call it… This is a blatant, criminal attack on the constitutional order… That is why I call for resistance that will be loud, firm, solidary and fearless."

"A judge whose oath was never accepted by the President Nawrocki has declared herself head of the Constitutional Tribunal and suspended its leadership, while police secured the building," added Morawiecki. "This is not how the rule of law is restored. The tribunal's crisis is real, but replacing one disputed set of rules with a more radical one only invites the next government to do the same."

U.S. Ambassador to Poland Tom Rose posted a statement on social media that read in part: "The events unfolding tonight at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal are very serious indeed. Russia's international hockey ban lifted, prompting backlash from IIHF, other countries: 'Incomprehensible'

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled on Friday that Russian teams can compete in next year's men's and women's world championships, overturning the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF)'s decisions to exclude them from its competitions.

The IIHF has excluded Russia, which has won five IIHF world titles as an independent nation, from most international ice hockey competitions since 2022 following the country's invasion of Ukraine.

Russia did not compete in Olympic hockey earlier this year, the first since 2014 which had NHL players, nor was it included in the NHL's 4 Nations Face-Off. Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, four days after Olympic competition ended that year.

The decision was not met with a warm reception from the IIHF and several other countries, including Canada, which will host the World Junior Championships later this year.

"Canada maintains, as it has since 2022, that Russia should not be represented in international sport competitions while Russia's illegal and unjustifiable full-scale invasion against Ukraine continues," Canada's Secretary of State for sport, Adam van Koeverden, said, via The Athletic. "Canada will maintain restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes at events hosted in Canada that receive funding from the Government of Canada and explore further options to ensure that the Russian government is held accountable."

"The IIHF disagrees with this aspect of the ruling and maintains that its decisions were necessary to protect the safety and security of all participants and safeguard the integrity of its competitions," ‌the ⁠federation said.

In a brief statement, CAS cited a lack of sufficient evidence to support the IIHF’s security concerns. Russia's sports minister, Mikhail Degtyarev, told state television channel Vesti that "discrimination in hockey has been brought to an end," and "this place rightfully belongs to us."

Ukraine's ice hockey federation denounced the ruling while respecting the authority of the CAS.

"We wish to express deep outrage at this decision, taken amid a full-scale war. The threats that were the reason for suspending Russian teams in 2022 have not disappeared. On the contrary, they have only intensified," the federation said on its website.

"We believe that the safety of participants and the integrity of international sport cannot be considered separately ⁠from the realities of the war that Russia continues to wage against Ukraine."

Other countries to oppose the decision include Germany, Finland, Czechia, Sweden and Austria.

The first tournament to be affected by the change will be the World Juniors, and Germany will host the World Championships next year.

Selma Blair breaks silence, weeks after arrest for alleged assault

Selma Blair on Friday apologized following her arrest after an alleged altercation with flight attendants on a Delta flight earlier this month.

The 54-year-old actress said her lawyers advised her not to say anything because of the ongoing legal matter but added, "Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life. And, so, to the people I disappointed, that I hurt, I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry."

In the emotional Instagram video, taken in what appeared to be her home, she added that she would be taking care of her health and her son "and thinking of you all with gratitude and love."

Blair was arrested for assault and arraigned Oct. 12 on two counts of second-degree assault stemming from alleged attacks on a Port Authority police officer and a nurse following her arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Los Angeles. Police had responded to a call about a "physically abusive passenger" aboard Delta Flight 938.

Blair pleaded not guilty. The judge set bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond or $60,000 partially secured bond. She's expected in court in January 2027.

"On Sunday, October 11, at approximately 11 p.m. at JFK Airport, PAPD responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938, which was parked at the gate after arrival from LAX," New York Port Authority officials confirmed to Fox News Digital.

"Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54-year-old woman. She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation."

According to court documents, Blair was restrained on a stretcher at the airport but freed her leg and allegedly kicked an officer in the face, neck and chest, causing substantial swelling. A nurse at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where Blair was taken, alleged that the actress kicked her in the chest while moving her.

Delta confirmed that law enforcement officials responded to an incident upon arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport, a flight that departed Los Angeles earlier in the day.

"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first," Delta said in a statement. Sources told TMZ that Blair punched one flight attendant and bit another in the middle of the flight.

Law enforcement officials confirmed Blair was also separately served with a summons by the FBI and is facing one charge of assault.

At the time, the New York Post reported that Blair's lawyer told the court that the actress "missed several doses of … a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms."

Representatives for Blair later shared a lengthy statement with People, saying the actress "did not intend to harm anyone."

"Since Sunday night, the public account of what happened to Selma aboard a flight to New York has been built almost entirely on a police statement and a decade-old headline," the spokesperson said.

"A handful of journalists have taken the time to report on Selma as a human being rather than a headline, and we are grateful to them," the statement continued. "But fair reporting has been the exception, and in the space left by our silence, speculation has hardened into something being treated as fact.

"We can, however, correct the record on a few points already in public circulation. Selma Blair experienced a medical emergency on the flight. There was no attempt to open the door of the aircraft. Selma did not intend to harm anyone."

The statement also addressed rumors the actress does not in fact have multiple sclerosis, a diagnosis she went public with in 2018. The spokesperson called those rumors "outrageous," noting, "What Selma has been able to do physically in the years since is nothing short of a miracle.

"There is much more to this story than has been reported, and we ask to consider the entirety of the facts before rushing to judgment, whether in the courtroom or in the court of public opinion."

It’s been an incredible 24 hours for the 26-year-old, as he performed the Lambeau Leap when the Brewers brought the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field during the Green Bay Packers game Thursday night. During his speech Friday, he made sure to let the raucous crowd know that captain Christian Yelich couldn't tackle him like a football player, either.

During Frelick’s speech, he said his best friends are all on the team and that they hang out with each other around the clock off the field. The Brewers displayed the power of friendship when they convinced the event organizers to bring hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach onstage to deliver a speech.

Now, to say Vogelbach may have had a few beers might also be an understatement. The Brewers players didn't just want Vogelbach to give a speech; they wanted him to sing karaoke.

Nicki Minaj is taking aim at Kathy Hochul, branding the New York governor an "evil woman" and urging voters to reject her in favor of Republican Bruce Blakeman ahead of the Nov. 3 gubernatorial election.

Minaj unleashed a series of posts on X Wednesday, accusing Hochul of failing to speak out against what the rapper described as harm to innocent people and calling on Black voters and Christians to turn against the governor.

"Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance," Minaj wrote.

"How much more do you need to see & hear from them?!! How dare you as black people vote for this vile wicked curse of a woman? How dare you as Christians?! She stays silent on harm being caused to the innocent & this is what she thinks of your children! Vote Blakeman!" she posted.

Minaj also reposted a video of Hochul joking about liquor store visits while promoting her inflation rebate initiative to a predominantly Black congregation at True Bethel Baptist Church in 2025.

"Don't stop by the liquor store, OK? Buy something for the kids. Buy them some food. Sometimes I have to stop by the liquor store, too. I understand," Hochul said.

"So not only does she keep horrible company & laugh at the demonic things her friends do behind the scenes to people who aren't as politically powerful…Dear God, help us," Minaj wrote in response.

The church's bishop defended Hochul's comments at the time, saying they were made "in [the] context" of his sermon that day.

Hochul pushed back against Minaj's criticism during a recent campaign appearance.

"I don’t play games in this business. This is serious," the governor said. "You can ask her what she's been, how she's been poisoned by Donald Trump," Hochul said.

"After Donald Trump and MAGA world has vanished, and they go back into their dark holes where they came from, hopefully we can have a reawakening, and people like her and others will realize that they were fed a vision of this country that is not what Americans feel. And, so, being an outlier right now, that’s her choice."

When Hochul was asked whether she would welcome Cardi B's endorsement, the governor dismissed the suggestion that the exchange was a celebrity rivalry.

Some social media users praised Hochul's response, arguing that voters should focus on her record rather than the opinions of celebrities.

At a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Sunday, Oct. 25, Trump invited Minaj onstage as he campaigned for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.
