Crowd erupts as Vance smacks down protester waving Mexican flag: 'Get your a-- over there'

Vice President JD Vance blasted a heckler waving foreign flags and yelling at him from the GOP convention floor during his primetime keynote address Thursday night.

The rabble-rouser emerged from the crowd waving Mexican and Palestinian flags, catching Vance's eye as he delivered his rallying cry to thousands of GOP voters at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The incident wasn't captured by the convention's official television feed, but Vance described it for viewers at home.

"What the people at home missed is that we just had a protester interrupting us and waving the Mexican flag.," he said. "Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your a– over there. I'll buy you the plane ticket."

The crowd erupted into chants of "USA! USA! USA!" as the troublemaker was escorted out of the event.

Vance delivered a deeply nationalistic keynote focused on America First principles.

"I believe the Founders built this nation on a promise that echoes our Creator: That every American child is born an heir, born with a birthright," said Vance. "Born with the right to inherit the blessings of this country. Not because of who their parents are. Not because of what they look like or where they come from. But because they are Americans."

Throughout his speech, event attendees interrupted with a chorus of "JD! JD! JD!" chants, and the roared as finished and departed the stage.

One year after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University, the people who stood feet from him when he was killed returned to the campus Thursday night in what Turning Point USA (TPUSA) described as a deliberate effort to "reclaim" the space in his honor.

"We’re doing an event in Utah right now at UVU, a deliberate act reclaiming that space in his honor and for his legacy," TPUSA spokesman and "The Charlie Kirk Show" Executive Producer Andrew Kolvet told Fox News host Jesse Watters Thursday night.

Andrew Sypher, TPUSA’s chief field officer, told the gathering at UVU in Orem that he had been standing about 10 feet to Kirk’s left when the fatal shot rang out on Sept. 10, 2025.

"Steps from these doors is the ground where evil unfolded," Sypher said. "We did not come back to rehearse the crime scene."

Instead, Sypher said, they returned because "this is where they tried to end him" and "this is where we refuse to let the last word be a gunshot."

For the students of UVU’s TPUSA chapter, the anniversary marked a return to the campus where some witnessed Kirk’s assassination.

"A year ago, our lives changed forever," chapter President Sage Lloyd told the crowd.

Lloyd said students experienced "fear, grief, confusion, and heartbreak" and had every reason to walk away.

"We could have packed our bags. We could have stepped away," she said.

Despite the tragedy, the TPUSA chapter stayed.

"The same students who witnessed a political assassination are willing to stand up, speak out and keep moving forward," Lloyd said.

"We can let it define us through fear, or we can let it strengthen us through courage," she added. "The Turning Point chapter at UVU has made our decision, and we chose courage."

Sypher also revealed what he said was a text Kirk sent him on the morning he was assassinated.

"Andrew, I’m not here to pick a fight. I am here to show them kindness," Kirk wrote, according to Sypher.

"That was the assignment this time," Sypher said. "To talk with students who hate you. To share the truth, and to not become cruel doing it."

Soon afterward, Kirk was fatally shot.

"Charlie’s assassination did not put our faith to death," Sypher told the crowd. "It woke it up."

The service was marked with worship performances and video tributes to the fallen conservative leader, as well as an unveiling of a new statue to stay on campus at UVU.

Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, separately marked the anniversary with a black-and-white photograph from their wedding showing the couple holding hands.

Across the image were two words: "...until Heaven."

The university closed its campus for the one-year anniversary. UVU itself did not organize the memorial, but university President Dr. Jon Anderson previously told Fox News Digital the school supported TPUSA using campus space for its event.

Lloyd closed her remarks with a message about what returning to UVU meant for Kirk’s student movement.

"Our chapter is still here, we are still speaking, and we are nowhere near done," she said. "And that is how his voice lives on."

Clippers face federal criminal probe after NBA punishes team over Kawhi Leonard deals

Federal prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into allegations that the Los Angeles Clippers arranged secret, off-the-books sponsorship deals for Kawhi Leonard to circumvent the NBA’s salary cap, first reported by The New York Times.

The inquiry is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn, which has previously pursued major sports integrity cases involving NBA referee gambling and FIFA corruption.

Federal authorities began scrutinizing the Clippers’ alleged conduct before the NBA announced its penalties, including a $30 million fine, the forfeiture of five consecutive first-round picks from 2029 through 2033 and a one-year suspension for owner Steve Ballmer. Two top Clippers executives also received suspensions.

The Times reported that a grand jury has already issued at least one subpoena in the investigation.

Investigators are zeroing in on undisclosed endorsement deals, including a reported $28 million agreement with Aspiration Partners.

The green finance company later collapsed into bankruptcy, while co-founder Joe Sanberg was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for fraud.

Prosecutors are examining whether Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and team executives helped facilitate side deals that compensated Leonard beyond the NBA’s salary-cap limits.

The SEC has also entered the investigation. Daktronics, which supplied displays for the Clippers’ Intuit Dome, confirmed that regulators requested records tied to its sponsorship agreements with Leonard.

The federal investigation significantly escalates the Clippers’ scandal, which the NBA called a "pattern of misconduct" after a yearlong review by the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

Leonard’s uncle and manager, Dennis Robertson, received a five-year ban from the NBA, while Leonard was ordered to pay $700,000 in restitution.

The Clippers strongly rejected the NBA’s findings, accusing the league of conducting a biased investigation designed to justify a predetermined narrative.

"We vehemently reject the NBA’s findings, which are the result of a heavily biased investigation seeking to justify a predetermined narrative rather than facts and evidence," the franchise said in a statement.

The team added, "We intend to vigorously challenge these findings and penalties through every avenue available to us and look forward to an ethical and impartial arbitration process."

David Kelley, Ballmer’s attorney, called the NBA’s investigation a "witch hunt" and a "gross injustice" in a letter to Commissioner Adam Silver.

Kelley argued that league officials privately acknowledged facts that contradicted the NBA’s public position.

"League counsel has acknowledged in our discussions that the league does not believe there was an agreement between the Clippers and Aspiration to funnel money to Kawhi Leonard," Kelley wrote.

He also emphasized that federal authorities previously determined Ballmer was "a victim of Joe Sanberg’s fraud, not a participant."

Leonard defended his conduct while acknowledging mistakes by members of his inner circle.

"Integrity and respect for this game are fundamental to who I am," Leonard said. "I accept full responsibility for lapses in judgment by people within my inner circle and regret the distraction this situation has caused the fans and my family."

Leonard added that he entered into his Clippers contract and the other agreements "in good faith," with no knowledge of any effort to circumvent the salary cap.

Ballmer and the Clippers are considering a federal lawsuit against the NBA to block the sanctions.

The criminal investigation could complicate that effort. Civil litigation may be delayed if key witnesses invoke their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.

Spokespersons for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Clippers and the NBA declined to comment on the investigation.

Juror on Lindsay Clancy trial says 'we let down Lindsay' following mistrial

A juror on the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts said she believes the jury "let down Lindsay" and that it was "hard to separate the children from what our task was."

Clancy was on trial for strangling and killing her three young children in January 2023 after sending her then-husband, Patrick, out to pick up medication and takeout. When he returned, he found Clancy injured outside after an apparent suicide attempt and the children unconscious in the basement. Two children died that night, while the third was airlifted to a Boston hospital and died several days later.

The trial ended in a mistrial last week after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Eleven jurors sided with finding Clancy not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility — Massachusetts’ version of an insanity defense — while one holdout favored finding her criminally responsible.

"Everybody says you're not supposed to feel like you failed, but you have a task to come out unanimous. And we tried everything we could to get to that end. And I feel like we let down Lindsay," Paula, 65, who was one of the jurors who sided with the majority, told WCVB.

Clancy's legal team did not dispute that she killed her children but argued that she should not be found criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. Clancy also admitted in court filings to killing her three children, but claimed that severe mental illness left her not criminally responsible.

Paula said the jury's majority believed that Clancy needed help and that the healthcare system failed her, adding that she thinks the medical community should do more to support women with postpartum mental health issues.

"There was a clear indication that the medical community failed her and not just her, but her whole family, because something like that affects the whole entire family. And if everybody can be educated in a better way, then it will help the whole family unit," Paula said.

After attorneys made their arguments, Paula said the jurors were sent to deliberate with 297 pieces of evidence, including Patrick's emotional 911 call, which she said some jurors had trouble listening to during deliberations.

"We all tried to help each other. It was hard to separate the children from what our task was, and it was very emotional," she said.

The jurors polled themselves at the start of deliberations, at which point eight believed Clancy was not guilty due to lack of criminal responsibility, two thought she was guilty and two were undecided, Paula said.

The majority eventually came to the belief that Clancy was not guilty due to lack of criminal responsibility.

Prosecutors argued during trial that Clancy was criminally responsible for the killings despite evidence that she suffered from mental illness.

"We did not start out 11 to one," Paula said. "Everybody had different opinions and different reasons and different ways that they got there."

Paula said the majority had a hard time understanding why the one holdout wanted to vote to convict Clancy.

"We did not feel that he was following the law because he admitted that he had doubt at different times, that he had doubt about the case that was presented, and the way that the rule read to all the rest of us is if we had doubt, then we could not convict her of first-degree murder or second-degree murder or manslaughter," Paula said.

The foreperson then sent a note to the judge saying the jury could not reach a verdict and accusing the holdout of refusing to apply the law on reasonable doubt.

Judge William Sullivan called up each of the jurors and individually asked them if they could apply the law as he had explained it, and they reportedly answered in the affirmative.

"The judge has to believe that people are telling him the truth. And so, you know, 11 people told the truth and one maybe didn't. And I will never know why," Paula said.

Paula said she believed it would have been worth restarting deliberations with an alternate if the court had removed the holdout.

"If our holdout juror had given us evidence to support his reasoning, we would have felt differently about what we told the judge," Paula said.

Other jurors have also spoken out in recent days to take issue with the holdout's position.

"He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children," juror Kellie Farina previously told NBC10 Boston.

On Thursday, Clancy's defense filed a motion arguing the prosecution failed to meet its burden and asked the judge to enter a required finding of not guilty, which the defense argues would prevent a retrial.

Patrol sergeant accused of murdering sheriff’s captain in yearslong romantic dispute over woman they dated

A North Carolina highway patrol sergeant has been indicted in the murder of a sheriff’s captain following a years-long romantic dispute involving a woman both officers dated, according to authorities.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol Sgt. Nekime Matu Oxendine, 44, reportedly shot Cumberland County Sheriff’s Capt. Adam Bean on March 27 outside the woman’s home in Hope Mills following a confrontation between the two men, according to authorities and CityView.

Police arrived to find the woman, Tara Lynn Whitman, performing CPR on Bean as Oxendine remained nearby, according to search warrant filings. Bean was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The fatal shooting followed years of escalating tension surrounding Whitman’s relationships with both men, state investigators wrote in court filings.

According to investigators, Oxendine had displayed persistent jealousy and insecurity over the years regarding Whitman’s connection to Bean.

According to the warrant, Whitman began dating Bean in 2022 after ending a long-term relationship with Oxendine. She eventually ended that relationship and returned to Oxendine.

While Whitman was with Bean, Oxendine appeared to exhibit increasingly concerning behavior, according to text messages cited in the warrant. Whitman and Bean had described some of his behavior as "stalking," documents reported.

"I seen u have been talking to Adam!!! Best wishes!!!" Oxendine wrote in one message.

"Better tell that Mother F—er to get ready too!!! " he added.

Oxendine also sent messages questioning Whitman’s decision to stay with Bean, demanding to know the truth and claiming he knew where Bean lived, according to the warrant.

In December 2025, Whitman eventually resumed her romantic relationship with Oxendine, moving out of the home she shared with Bean.

For the next three months, however, Oxendine continued to show insecurity over Bean, asking Whitman whether Bean was more attractive and accusing him of having the power to "lure u in and out of my life on demand." He also sought continued reassurance about Whitman’s commitment, according to the warrant

Then, on the night of March 27, Bean asked Whitman to come to his residence after work to talk. Whitman initially agreed but later stopped responding to his messages.

When Whitman did not show up, Bean messaged her, "F— it, I’ll come to you," and threatened to blow his car horn and cause a scene if she did not come outside.

When Bean arrived, he became irate after seeing Oxendine’s vehicle parked outside, according to the warrant.

Oxendine stepped outside and fired about two warning shots into the ground. Bean continued advancing toward him, and Oxendine then opened fire two to three more times, according to the warrant.

Bean collapsed onto his back in the yard, according to the warrant. Police said they found a handgun and magazine nearby.

Oxendine has been charged with first-degree murder.

Bean had served with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years and most recently served as assistant chief of detectives with the rank of captain.

Restaurant chain once frequented by Kardashians files for bankruptcy after 36 years

Another longtime American restaurant chain is fighting to keep its doors open as mounting debt and financial losses batter the dining industry.

Marmalade Cafe, a 36-year-old Southern California brunch favorite, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sept. 2, citing "rent disputes and mounting supplier debts."

It owes more than $1 million to Gilmore Farmers Market, US Foods, Sysco Ventura Inc., the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration and others, according to multiple reports.

The Encino-based company listed total assets of $12.7 million in the filing but reported a net loss of $680,314, according to the New York Post.

Over the years, the chain, which first opened in Santa Monica in 1990, evolved from a grab-and-go spot to offering private dining and catering to businesses, including Boeing, Mattel, CBS and Warner Bros. Studios. The Calabasas location was even a favorite of the Kardashians, according to reports.

It was operating just four locations across Southern California at the time of the filing after closing four others in recent years. The company cited hardships, including "unsustainable financial losses and a lack of rent relief," according to the filing.

The Calabasas restaurant closed after construction disrupted parking and drove down sales; its Santa Monica location shuttered amid losses tied to the Palisades Fire; and the Original Farmers Market outpost closed after failing to regain pre-pandemic business, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"Unfortunately, the ongoing construction throughout the shopping center has resulted in a devastating decline in business," the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post in July about the Calabasas closure.

"Despite our best efforts to weather these challenges, and after seeking rent relief from our landlord during this extended construction period, the landlord declined to help," the statement continued. "With construction expected to continue for an extended period, we simply cannot sustain the financial losses any longer."

That closure was reportedly a main catalyst for the bankruptcy filing.

Marmalade Cafe's four remaining locations in El Segundo, Malibu, Sherman Oaks and Westlake Village remain open, and a representative told the Los Angeles Times they are "very healthy and very strong."

Longtime restaurants are being squeezed by simultaneous increases in rent, wages, insurance and utilities, chef Andrew Gruel, founder of American Gravy and a Huntington Beach city councilman, told Fox News Digital.

"Marmalade's Chapter 11 filing is a prime example of how difficult the restaurant business has become, particularly in California," Gruel said.

"Longevity and a loyal customer base are valuable, but they don't necessarily protect a restaurant when the underlying cost structure changes faster than the business can adapt."

The filing also stated that the company had downsized from more than 200 employees to about 50 as of this year.

Marmalade Cafe is the latest in a string of restaurant bankruptcies and closures across the Golden State and nationwide.

Other recent casualties include Fireman Hospitality; Salad and Go; FAT Brands, the parent company of Fatburger; Johnny Rockets and other chains. Red Lobster, Carl's Jr. and On the Border locations have also recently shuttered.

The closures do not necessarily mean the restaurants were poorly run, Gruel added. Rather, rising costs can catch up with even established businesses, part of an industry reset he expects will bring more closures.

"The operators who survive will likely be those who can adapt their menus, staffing, hours, footprint and overall business model while maintaining the experience that brings customers back," he said.

President Donald Trump used his appearance in Dallas to dunk all over the Mavericks’ infamous trade of Luka Dončić.

Speaking at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention on Wednesday night, Trump stood in American Airlines Center, the old home of Dončić before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he added a major jab to the Mavericks midway through his remarks.

"I must tell you, I don’t understand the trade," he said. "That trade is not good."

Dončić, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris were traded to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round draft pick in February 2025.

It was a deal that sent a shockwave through the entire NBA. In fact, sports fans in general were baffled that Dončić would be teaming up with LeBron James out west, while the Mavericks traded away their franchise cornerstone.

After all, Dončić carried the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals just the season prior.

So, Trump didn’t mince words about how he felt this trade would go down in history.

"It’s not going to go down as the greatest trade in the history of sports," he said. "It might go down as the worst trade in the history of sports."

Trump did say, though, that Babe Ruth being traded from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees remains the worst trade in sports history. But he thinks the Mavericks will get to the point where they regret dealing Dončić away.

He even joked to "redo" it.

"Maybe we can redo that trade?" Trump said. "I redo deals all the time."

Vance recalled Kirk’s message to young men that few callings are greater than falling in love, starting a family and becoming a father — words that have taken on new meaning for the vice president since he and second lady Usha Vance welcomed their son Alec in July.

He used Kirk's legacy to transition into touting the "birthright" exceptionalism Americans have.

Vance used the opportunity to outline his vision for rebuilding the nuclear family — taking shots at Democrats.

"I think about what the Democrats have said about our shared birthright as Americans, or frankly, the lack thereof in Michigan. One Democrat in particular, one candidate has said, and I quote ‘f the nuclear family.’ What are you even talking about?" said Vance.

"They come not from a desire to serve you or our fellow Americans, but they come from a very deep emptiness in the soul," he added.

A protestor emerged with a Mexicana and Palestinian flag to which Vance responded, "What the people at home missed is that we just had a protestor interrupting us and waving the Mexican flag."

"Well. Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your ass over there. I'll buy you the plane ticket," the vice president said.

Vance said he should be waving the American flag, adding, it is a symbol for the fight for the American dream.

"This fall, the Democrats are running candidates who will tell your children what they're allowed to say, how they're allowed to live, and importantly, who they ought to hate. Because that's what the Democrat Party is about in 2026. It's not about you, it's about foreign fraudsters, and it's about who they hate," said Vance.

Vance spoke about the economy former President Joe Biden left, pointing to housing costs and Americans competing against illegal immigrants in the job market.

"Our nation became a place where you had to be rich to enjoy what used to be the birthright of every ordinary middle class life," he said.

Vance touted his wins from leading the White House Task Force on fraud and calling out Democrats for "refus[ing] to prosecute the crime."

He said the task force has found $250 billion of fraud just since he was appointed fraud czar.

Vance took aim at Michigan Democratic senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, who he has been dealing with in recent weeks after the socialist made cruel comments about the second family.

"He saw me describing what a decent man and my papa was genuinely a decent and good man. He saw me talking about my papa and his work and his history and what he loved and what he cared about. And you know what old Abdul did? He asked mockingly whether I'd be willing to bring Usha back in time to meet Papa," Vance resurfaced.

Vance said that El-Sayed saw "the color of his skin, sees his background, and decides that he could never have loved my wife."

"Abdul himself was raised by his own white step-grandparents. He knows exactly that kind of bond and what it looks like in a family, and he chose any way to say that a man like my grandfather couldn't have love from the bottom of his heart," added Vance.

"They're not the party of FDR or JFK. Hell, they're not even the party of Bill Clinton anymore. The Democrats are the party of hatred. They're the party that despises America and the people who built it," said Vance.

Family of critically missing DC mother says police still treating home as active crime scene

The sister of a Washington, D.C., mother who vanished last week said a series of alarming discoveries inside her home immediately signaled something was wrong as police continue investigating her disappearance after reclassifying her case as a critically missing person.

Antoinette Forbes, 53, was last seen around 3 p.m. Friday at her home in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Police are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.

According to family friend Elizabeth Northrup, police initially classified Forbes as a missing person before reclassifying her as critically missing in less than 24 hours. Under Metropolitan Police Department guidelines, a critically missing person is someone believed to be in danger or facing life-threatening circumstances.

"I knew immediately something was wrong," Forbes' sister, Aileen Forbes, told Fox News Digital.

The sisters had spoken over FaceTime on Saturday morning while making plans to visit their mother in Florida over the holidays.

By Labor Day, Aileen said she had tested positive for COVID-19 and texted her sister because she has an underlying health condition that can make the illness more dangerous. When repeated texts and FaceTime calls went unanswered, she grew concerned.

She contacted close family friends who live near Antoinette's Washington home. The friends, who had a key to the house, entered the home and immediately noticed several troubling signs.

"The text I got from Margarita ... I think something happened to me that made my heart stop," Aileen said.

The family immediately contacted police.

Aileen said investigators have told the family the home is being treated as an active crime scene and that no one, including relatives, has been allowed inside.

"No one has access to Antoinette's home, not even me," Aileen said. "In some ways, it's my home too, and I have not been able to step foot in it."

"I know that they have been working tirelessly since Monday afternoon ... around the clock," Aileen said.

Aileen said nothing about her sister's life suggested she would voluntarily disappear.

"Antoinette has a full, rich life," she said. "She's an incredibly successful woman professionally, personally. She's a happy woman."

She described her sister as a devoted mother whose world revolved around her 10-year-old son, Nathan, and the family's dog, Max.

Asked what she would say if her sister could hear her, Aileen responded, "Antoinette, you know how much we love you. You know who loves you. Keep the faith. We are not going to give up. We are going to bring you home."

An online petition led by family members of people killed on Sept. 11 — signed by over 100,000 people — has called on Mamdani to skip the memorial.

"Mr. Mamdani has praised Brooklyn Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been linked to radical Islam, was named as an alleged co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and served as a character witness for the 'Blind Sheikh,' who was convicted in 1995 of plotting terror attacks against the United States," the petition said.

"Mr. Mamdani has endorsed candidates such as Aber Kawas, who described 9/11 as an attack 'a couple of people did in the context of U.S. capitalism, racism, White supremacy, and Islamophobia,' and who also expressed sympathy for Ahmed Ferhani, who pleaded guilty to plotting to blow up a Manhattan synagogue," it added.

Mamdani and other socialist candidates' association with far-left activist Hasan Piker has also gotten intense scrutiny over Piker's past comments that the United States "deserved" the attacks, remarks he promptly walked back at the time but continue to haunt him and his political circle. Mamdani has also condemned the comment.

DALLAS, Texas — The 30-minute U.S. military operation that removed Nicolás Maduro from power has helped clear the way for a sweeping expansion of Venezuela’s battered energy sector, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said, sharing that the country’s national energy production will more than double by the end of 2027.

"Chevron is going to more than double their energy production. In fact, that national energy production in Venezuela will more than double by the end of next year from the intervention on Jan. 3 this year," Wright told Fox News Digital on the sidelines of the RNC Midterm Convention.

Wright said the military actions in Venezuela helped open the door for a major increase in oil production as the administration has increasingly taken an active role in the socialist country as part of a broader push to expand U.S. influence and investment.

U.S. forces entered Venezuela for Operation Absolute Resolve Jan. 3, capturing Maduro and his wife Flores. War Secretary Pete Hegseth said the attack was part of "massive joint military and law enforcement raid" and lasted less than 30 minutes.

Chevron scored an investment of more than $7 billion over five years and more than double its Venezuelan oil production to 600,000 barrels per day, according to its press release.

Venezuela controls more than 300 billion barrels of crude reserves, roughly 20% of the world’s total. Despite holding an estimated 17% of the world’s oil reserves, Venezuela produces only about 1% of global output after years of political instability and deteriorating infrastructure undermined its energy industry.

Lindsay Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, forcefully defended Patrick Clancy in a new interview with Fox News, rejecting online speculation that the father of three was somehow involved in the deaths of his children, calling the ordeal he endured "horrific."

Speaking to Fox News' Bryan Llenas after the mistrial in Lindsay Clancy's murder case, Reddington said he has continued to hear claims accusing Patrick Clancy despite years of investigation.

"My response to those people is, at some point, maybe you get a chance to listen to that 911 tape, and then you look me in the eye and tell me that you think Patrick Clancy did this," Reddington said. "What this guy has been through is horrific."

When asked if there was "no way" that Patrick Clancy was responsible, Reddington doubled down.

"How was he neglectful?" Reddington said. "The man was with her, took her to the doctors, tried to advocate on her behalf, was supportive of her."

He said Patrick Clancy witnessed Lindsay Clancy struggle with sleeplessness and other symptoms that the defense has argued were consistent with severe postpartum mental illness.

Reddington also defended Patrick Clancy's decision to remarry after the horrific deaths of his children, saying he's "entitled to move on with his life." It is something that Lindsay Clancy herself understands.

"The government takes the position that this was planned," Reddington said. "Well then, why would she Google the distance of nine minutes and three minutes to CVS?"

He said the searches were consistent with the defense's argument that Lindsay Clancy was struggling with severe postpartum mental illness rather than carrying out a calculated plan.

"If she was, she would have Googled as she did, and she would've been spot on on every single symptom of postpartum psychosis," Reddington said. "She was telling the truth."

Reddington also dismissed claims that Lindsay Clancy fabricated hearing a voice to bolster her postpartum psychosis defense. Critics had argued the reported voice seemed convenient, a theory Reddington rejected.

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., attacked ABC, CBS and other networks in a pair of deleted X posts Thursday after hearing reports about Jimmy Kimmel's upcoming interview with Democratic Texas U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico.

The late-night host announced Wednesday night he would be interviewing Talarico.

But, out of concern for the FCC under President Donald Trump, he added that he would be releasing the interview on YouTube instead of airing it on his show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Lieu accused ABC and other networks, like CBS, of "bending the knee" to authoritarians by refusing to air interviews of elected officials.

"You know what else you can do @ABC and @CBS? Offer Ken Paxton the opportunity to come onto late night talk shows where the hosts can legitimately skewer Paxton by asking him about all his scandals. But instead you groveled and chose the path of self-censorship. Shameful."

Fox News Digital reached out to ABC, CBS and Lieu's office for comment but did not immediately receive responses.

Kimmel similarly accused the FCC of targeting his show and ABC based on "guest bookings it would seem they don’t like."

"And, so, out of consideration for our local stations, especially our ABC affiliates in Texas who have to deal with this nonsense, my interview tomorrow with James Talarico will not air on television. It will be posted on YouTube instead. It will not be on TV."

The situation was reminiscent of former late-night host Stephen Colbert's interview with Talarico ahead of the Texas Senate primary, in which Talarico competed against Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

Colbert's show, which has since been canceled, did not air the interview with Talarico and only posted it to the show's YouTube channel in February. Colbert announced at the time that CBS had stopped the show from airing the interview.

However, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr clarified to Fox News at the time that the interview would have potentially violated the equal-time rule, which requires broadcast stations to provide equal opportunities to opposing political candidates during an election season.

"Jimmy Kimmel thinks he's being cute or even brave by thumbing his nose at the FCC, but he's likely to end up in hot water for this. The equal time rules are what they are," Houck said.

"Kimmel and his clapping seals in the liberal, elitist media are telling on themselves when they try to explain away the record of Kimmel and his fellow network late-night hosts as virulent partisans with guest disparities that can only be rivaled by ABC's ‘The View.’"

BERLIN — Megan DiLeo will be looking to lead Team Spain to an upset win over the U.S. in the FIBA Women's World Cup semifinal on Saturday. That means she will be taking on her old friend Caitlin Clark.

But DiLeo, Spain's star center and a 2025 WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces, may have to wait for Clark to come off the bench before seeing her on the hardwood. USA coach Kara Lawson has opted to start veteran Chelsea Gray over Clark at point guard for the U.S.'s first four games, despite Clark putting up superior numbers and playing more minutes.

But DiLeo doesn't believe that Clark not starting will make things any easier for Spain on Saturday.

DiLeo added, "We just gotta be ready for her and for the rest of the roster. They're talented, they're deep. It kind of doesn't really matter who comes in."

Saturday will be a reunion for the two Iowa alumni, as DiLeo played for the Hawkeyes from 2015-19, before Clark showed up on campus one year later.

DiLeo said Friday that she helped recruit Clark to Iowa back then.

"I was actually part of the recruiting process that she was kind of going through, figuring out where she wanted to go, as far as that, and she chose Iowa," DiLeo said. "Whenever I go back to visit campus and stuff and she was still playing we would get to interact and stuff, we check in on eachother every once in a while now. Just super happy we get to represent Iowa."

DiLeo added that she hasn't spoken to Clark since they arrived in Germany for the World Cup due to scheduling constraints, but she's "excited" to see Clark on Saturday.

DiLeo won consensus National Player of the Year honors in 2019 and finished her college career with 2,804 points and a school-record 1,460 rebounds. Iowa later retired her No. 10.

Clark became a two-time consensus National Player of the Year and finished her career with 3,951 points, the most in NCAA Division I basketball history. She also led Iowa to consecutive national championship games before the school retired her No. 22.

Saturday will not be the first time they have faced each other internationally.

The U.S. defeated Spain 84-70 during the World Cup qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico in March. DiLeo scored 15 points for Spain, while Clark finished with seven points and seven assists. Clark was later named the tournament’s most valuable player after leading the Americans to a 5-0 record.

DiLeo became a naturalized Spanish citizen in 2023 and made her debut for Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She averaged 18 points and 9.3 rebounds during that tournament and has remained one of the country’s most important interior players.

She helped Spain reach Saturday’s semifinal with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting during an 89-66 quarterfinal victory over Australia. Spain shot 50% from the field and made 13 3-pointers while eliminating the Opals.

The Americans delivered an even more dominant quarterfinal performance. They defeated Hungary 108-56 while setting World Cup quarterfinal records for points and assists.

Clark scored 10 points and recorded a game-high nine assists in 20 minutes. She is now third among all players in assists per game at the tournament.

Her best performance came in the opening game against China, when she recorded 14 points and 11 assists without committing a turnover. She struggled during the Americans’ 55-52 escape against Italy but responded with nine points and seven assists against Czechia before nearly recording another double-double against Hungary.

Lawson has continued to use Clark with a younger group of reserves that includes Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese. The decision has drawn criticism from some fans, but it has not stopped the U.S. from reaching another semifinal with a 4-0 record.

Spain will enter as a significant underdog based on the countries’ history. The U.S. has won all 11 previous meetings listed by FIBA, including the 2014 World Cup championship game and the gold-medal game at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Americans have also won 34 consecutive World Cup games since losing to Russia in the 2006 semifinals. They are two victories away from claiming a fifth straight World Cup championship.

Spain, meanwhile, is back in the tournament after failing to qualify in 2022. The country has won three World Cup medals but has never captured gold.

A socialist "Never Trumpers" protester blamed "conservative provocateurs" for a tense confrontation with police that resulted in multiple arrests just outside the Republican National Committee's midterm convention in Dallas.

Videos posted on social media Thursday afternoon showed what appeared to be hundreds of Never Trumpers confronting Dallas police just blocks from where the president was set to deliver his convention-closing speech. Authorities responded with a strong show of force that included officers in apparent riot gear.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed with Fox News Digital that two protesters were arrested on charges related to their actions during the protest. The department said that officers assigned to the area arrested the two protesters after it said they "assaulted a counter-protester" and "obstructed a road."

The department said the suspects’ names and specific charges will be released after they are booked into jail.

Majumdar said that the protest was organized by the Dallas Against the Trump Agenda Coalition, which, he said, consists of 16 "faith-based organizations, pro-immigrants’ rights groups and labor organizations."

"We're here to protest the Republican agenda, the Trump agenda and all its policies that it has enacted over the last few years," he explained. "The march is an important event, we feel, against this convention that's happening for the last two days."

He said that, during the group's march, "we encountered some street closures by the police" and that officers arrested a couple of protesters who "were at the front of the group."

Pressed on why the protesters were arrested, Majumdar said, "Those people were trying to draw people away from rioting provocateurs, and I think the police heard something. And they immediately tackled two of them and arrested them, and some of them even pulled out their guns as well."

The protest came amid heightened concerns over political violence and the targeting of public figures. It also coincided with the first anniversary of the assassination of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

Joseph diGenova has resigned from his Justice Department role investigating the alleged "Grand Conspiracy" surrounding the Trump-Russia investigations, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Fox News has learned diGenova lost the confidence of both the Justice Department and the White House. According to sources familiar with the matter, he had been effectively sidelined well before his departure.

His resignation comes after months in which his role had diminished internally, ending his involvement in the investigation amid questions about his standing within both the administration and DOJ leadership.

ABC News first reported his resignation.

"It was an honor and a privilege to serve the president and the department," diGenova told CBS News.

DiGenova’s wife, attorney Victoria Toensing, who also joined the federal prosecution team in South Florida, is expected to leave the Justice Department on Friday, according to CBS News.

The so-called "Grand Conspiracy" investigation is based out of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Fort Pierce, Florida. It examines whether Obama- and Biden-era officials were involved in a long-running effort to prevent Trump from returning to political office.

The probe has scrutinized officials involved in past investigations of Trump, including former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. DiGenova was also overseeing a separate criminal investigation into whether Brennan lied to Congress about the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 election.

The investigation has issued dozens of subpoenas over the past year. A cruise line reportedly shut down hot tubs and heated whirlpools aboard one of its ships as a precaution after three confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease involving former passengers.

The cases involved three travelers who sailed aboard Norwegian Prima, a 3,200-passenger vessel, in May and July 2026, the blog Cruise Fever reported.

The source of the exposure has not yet been determined.

"We can confirm that three guests who sailed aboard one of our ships recently were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease following their travels," a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line told Fox News Digital this week.

"While it has not been confirmed if the exposure occurred on the ship or elsewhere, we are working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to investigate these cases, as well as mitigate any further incidents, and have notified the appropriate guests and crew directly per the CDC’s guidance," the spokesperson added.

"We have elevated our sanitation procedures as part of our routine measures to ensure a safe environment on board and will continue to take any necessary measures to protect our guests and crew," the spokesperson continued.

Legionnaires' disease is a type of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria, which can spread when people inhale small water droplets containing the bacteria.

The cruise line said the ship's hot tubs and heated whirlpools would remain closed as a precaution while testing continues, according to the Cruise Fever report.

"As a precaution, all public hot tubs and private balcony heated whirlpools will remain closed and will reopen only after sampling has been completed and any necessary remediation measures have been carried out in accordance with CDC guidelines," the blog noted.

However, in a comment to Fox News Digital, a Netflix spokesperson denied the post was supposed to be a reference to Kirk and called the comparison "ludicrous."

"This post directly references a plot point from our U.K. series, 'The Gentlemen,' which launched its second season on Sept. 3. Suggestions that it has any link to sensitive real world events are inaccurate and ludicrous," the spokesperson said.

As of Thursday evening, the post was still viewable on the Netflix UK & Ireland account.

Ahead of the one-year anniversary of Kirk's death, multiple universities drew criticism after reports of students planning "Kirkiversary" celebrations.

Though TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez admitted that she has more concern over her safety since Kirk's death, she told Fox News Digital she also feels more encouraged to keep reaching across the political aisle.

Country music star Ernest reconnected with his faith after taking a step back from the spotlight.

The "Gettin' Gone" singer, whose full name is Ernest Keith Smith, checked in with his fans on social media Tuesday, weeks after dropping out of Ella Langley's The Dandelion Tour.

Ernest, 27, admitted on Instagram he was "lost" and actively searching for answers in life but was grateful for the people who stood beside him with "love and support."

Ernest recognized that he spent "too long" relying "on my own (dumba--) way and thinking I can outsmart my better judgment [sic]."

"I can’t define it and don’t know if anyone really can… I just know that I have a beautiful life, family and friends that deserve me at my best. I deserve that for me too."

Federal appeals court compares Trump migrant detention policy to Japanese American internment

A Trump administration policy to detain migrants on bond without a chance for release harkens back to the mass detention of Japanese Americans during World War II, a federal court said Thursday.

In a 2-1 decision, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the administration's mass detention policy, a major part of President Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda.

"Mass detention of marginalized individuals without due process harkens back to some of the darkest moments in our country’s history," the court wrote.

BIDEN JUDGE OVERRULED ON KEY TRUMP IMMIGRATION POLICY

Nine federal appeals courts have now separately ruled that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) new mandatory detention policy is illegal, concluding it could apply to recent arrivals at or near the border but not to migrants determined to be living elsewhere within the country.

Two other appeals courts have upheld it, meaning the U.S. Supreme Court is likely to take up the case in its upcoming term.

Immigrant rights groups say basic due process is being violated when longtime residents are denied bond hearings during removal proceedings.

Mass arrests of suspected illegal immigrants during President Donald Trump's second term have prompted widespread protests, particularly in Democratic-led cities like Chicago. In July 2025, the administration announced it would detain every migrant found anywhere in the U.S. whom ICE determines was not granted permission to enter.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said the agency was disappointed with Thursday's decision but said it recently sought a Supreme Court review of a similar decision from the 6th Circuit.

Writing for the majority, 4th Circuit Judge Nicole Berner invoked the mass internment of Japanese Americans during World War II as a warning against sweeping executive detention authority without due process.

"The stain of these detentions on our nation — and the judiciary’s abdication of its obligation to protect basic freedoms — continues to haunt us," Berner wrote.

Charlie Kirk assassination allegedly mocked on campuses across country with celebrations, look-alike contests

Celebrations and apparent Charlie Kirk "look-alike contests" are popping up on college campuses across the country on the first anniversary of the conservative activist’s assassination with anonymous posts and flyers advertising events tied to Georgetown University, the University of South Carolina, the University of Maine and New York University, among others.

The latest apparent event surfaced in NYU’s Yik Yak community, which is not officially affiliated with the university, where an anonymous user posted an image of a flyer advertising a "KIRKAVERSARY C. KIRK LOOKALIKE CONTEST" at "WSQ Park" at 10 p.m. Sept. 10, offering a $5 prize and instructing attendees to "BYOB."

The NYU-related post followed similar apparent contests advertised through anonymous campus social media platforms at Georgetown in Washington, D.C., and the University of South Carolina, turning what initially appeared to be an isolated controversy into a broader phenomenon surrounding the anniversary of Kirk’s killing.

DEMOCRATIC STUDENT GROUP TO PROTEST CHARLIE KIRK MEMORIAL AT CAMPUS WHERE HE WAS KILLED

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated Sept. 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback Tour.

Students at Georgetown University allegedly planned a Kirk "lookalike contest" for the anniversary of the conservative activist’s assassination, and the event drew thousands of upvotes on Fizz, an anonymous social media platform popular with Georgetown students, according to screenshots shared with Fox News Digital from the school’s Turning Point USA chapter.

Similarly, an apparent Kirk look-alike contest called "Kirkiversary" is being advertised at the University of South Carolina for Thursday.

The screenshot featured an anonymous Yik Yak post circulating on social media advertising a "Charlie Kirk look-alike contest" on Greene Street outside USC’s Russell House at 7 p.m., offering a $50 prize and telling prospective participants, "Be there or be square."

The University of South Carolina replied to the Libs of TikTok post saying, "We have no record of any registered student organization planning such an event. No university resources will be used to support this. DM us if you’d like a contact here that can help verify claims like this ahead of posting."

Georgetown also told Fox News Digital it was not tied to the event, saying, "We have seen no activity on campus related to these posts. Georgetown is not planning such an event and, to our knowledge, no student organization is hosting or planning such an event."

Other schools appear to be celebrating Kirk’s death with images circulating on social media and shared by Libs of TikTok that appear to show flyers mocking Charlie Kirk’s death posted at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The flyers include an image of Kirk and the words "REST IN PISS FOREVER MISS" and "THE MASTERBAITER." A social media post circulating the images also claims that additional flyers have been posted around campus and that events celebrating Kirk’s death are being planned.

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville also condemned messages that celebrate political violence after mysterious "Kirkaversery" [sic] flyers advertised a gathering apparently marking one year since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, declaring, "WE WILL CELEBRATE THE FIRST NEW YEAR AK (AFTER KIRK)."

At Rochester Institute of Technology, flyers circulating online by Libs of TikTok appeared to advertise a "CHARLIE KIRK LOOKALIKE COMPETITION" at the Kate Gleason dorm quad on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m., with a prize listed as "$10 + FAME + TROPHY." The flyer did specify that the look-alike contest was not affiliated with RIT.

A second flyer advertises a "Twerk for Kirk" competition with a $10 entry fee and monetary prizes.

Libs of TikTok also shared screenshots of a series of posts appearing in the University of Maine’s Yik Yak community on the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Screenshots circulating online showed multiple anonymous posts using the term "Kirkiversary" and apparently mocking Kirk’s death and the manner in which he was killed. Among the posts visible in the screenshots are messages stating, "HAPPY KIRKIVERSARY!!!! TODAY IS A GREAT DAY!!!," "Carotid arteries out for Charlie Kirk!" and "Woke up with a horrible pain in my neck," accompanied by an image of a man experiencing neck pain.

Similarly, purported internal messages attributed to members of the UNC Charlotte university community discussing the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination were also shared on X by Libs of TikTok.

The messages, published on social media, appear to include individuals discussing how to celebrate the anniversary, joking about Kirk’s assassination and, in one instance, expressing hope that President Donald Trump would die.

REPUBLICAN CONVENTION ATTENDEES SHARE HEARTFELT TRIBUTES TO LATE CHARLIE KIRK ON ASSASSINATION ANNIVERSARY

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Wiley Norvell, senior vice president for university relations and public affairs at NYU, said, "No recognized student group is organizing any such event, nor is one taking place in an NYU building or space. University resources would never be used in this way. We are reporting these posts for misusing NYU's name. We strongly condemn any elevation of political violence."

The University of Maine told Fox News Digital in a statement that the university "condemns violence, threats of violence and rhetoric that celebrates or makes light of violence in any form. The safety of our students, employees and visitors is a top priority. We take credible threats seriously, investigate them promptly and work with law enforcement and public safety partners when appropriate.

"The UMaine chapter of Turning Point USA held an event on campus Wednesday evening. The event was approved in advance and held in accordance with established university policies and procedures governing campus events. UMaine Police were present to support campus safety and security. The event concluded without incident, and the university received no threats of violence associated with the event, either before, during or after it.

"Yik Yak is an independent, third-party open and anonymous social media platform that is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or administered by the University of Maine. The university does not operate or control the platform and does not have access to information identifying individuals behind anonymous posts. Any credible threat involving members of the university community or campus safety is taken seriously and addressed in accordance with university policies and established public safety procedures."

A UNC Charlotte spokesperson gave the following statement to Fox News Digital: "UNC Charlotte did not generate these messages. They were posted on Yik Yak, an anonymous third-party platform, and the university does not know who authored them. UNC Charlotte does not condone the posts. If the university receives credible information indicating that a member of our community has made a threat or violated university policy, we will review it and respond appropriately."

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln spokesperson also addressed the controversy in comments to Fox News Digital.

"The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is aware of flyers that were taped to bus stops on campus that contained imagery of the late Charlie Kirk. There is no indication that anyone affiliated with the university is responsible for the creation and/or distribution of the flyers," the spokesperson said.

"The university does not condone or support messages making light of violence or the loss of life. The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors are our highest priority. The university encourages anyone who becomes aware of an immediate safety concern to report it through UNL Report or by calling University Police."
