Europe will one day thank Trump for 'shaking' it out of its 'complacency': UK defense chief

The U.K.'s new defense secretary said Sunday that Europe will ultimately thank President Donald Trump for waking up the continent from its complacency and forcing NATO allies to take responsibility for their own security.

Speaking on Sky News, Wes Streeting also signaled a rebalancing of the U.K. government's transatlantic stance under new Prime Minister Andy Burnham while stating that Britain continued to refuse to back U.S. offensive military action against Iran.

"The first thing you do is you don't suck up, and… my impression is President Trump, his administration… that's not what they're looking for, actually," Streeting told Sky News anchor Trevor Phillips, stating his perspective on Washington.

"He's a straight talker. He says what he means and means what he says."

"I don't know him, but I do trust the United States," he added.

Streeting took charge of the U.K. Ministry of Defence on July 20, the same day Burnham became prime minister.

"I've not even been in the job a week. I've always been aware that the alliance between the U.S. and the U.K. is unlike any in the world, and of course, that's historic, it's cultural, it's political," Streeting said. "It's driven by self-interest as well as mutual shared interests."

During his first week in office, Streeting also had a call with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to discuss maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and broader NATO commitments.

"But just in my first week as defense secretary, I have had a unique insight into just how close and integral that relationship is when it comes to defense and security," Streeting explained.

"And it's one of the reasons why I was very keen and pleased in the first week to meet with my U.S. counterpart, Pete Hegseth, where I was clear that we've not supported offensive action in Iran, and we won't support offensive action in Iran," he continued. "But there are plenty of things that we can and should do together when it comes to securing the Strait of Hormuz, in making sure that Iran doesn't develop nuclear weapons, in terms of investing in our capability and NATO's capability."

Trump has long criticized European NATO members for failing to spend enough on defense, arguing they should shoulder a greater share of the alliance's security burden.

At July's NATO summit in Turkey, Trump pressed allies to follow through on their commitments to increase defense spending.

"And one of the things I'd say about President Trump specifically: we don't always like what he says, we don't always like his methods," Streeting said. "But I genuinely think when this period of history is written, Europe will thank President Trump for shaking us out of our complacency and forcing us to stand on our own two feet and end the period of overreliance on the United States for defense because what he said about Europe isn't unique to President Trump, the MAGA movement or the Republican Party."

"This has been a longstanding grain of U.S. frustration with Europe under Democratic and Republican presidents, and in the world we live in, it is right that we can act to secure ourselves," he added.

Streeting also said the U.K. could "act with our allies here in Europe and, of course, work with the United States without being overly dependent to the extent that NATO and Europe has been."

Popular children's YouTube educator "Ms. Rachel" faced criticism Sunday after a federal filing showed she gave $3,000 to Abdul El-Sayed's Michigan Senate campaign, supporting the progressive Democrat in a nationally watched primary increasingly divided over Israel.

The donation prompted National Republican Senatorial Committee spokeswoman Samantha Cantrell to warn parents about both figures, The New York Post reported.

"Abdul El-Sayed and Ms. Rachel are one and the same, forcing their socialist, they/them, anti-America agenda on our children," Cantrell told The New York Post. "Parents should be worried when they head to the ballot box."

Rachel Griffin Accurso, who produces children's content under the name, "Ms. Rachel," was listed in a Federal Election Commission 48-hour notice dated July 19, according to the New York Post. The filing did not make clear whether the payment was a contribution or a loan.

The transaction connected Accurso, whose YouTube channel has more than 20 million subscribers, to El-Sayed, who has called for an arms embargo against Israel and accused the country of genocide in Gaza.

El-Sayed, who is backed by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was asked during a July appearance on "Inside Politics Sunday" whether the United States should designate the Israeli government as a foreign terrorist organization.

"It’s certainly a rogue state," El-Sayed said. "I mean, they did a genocide."

Israel has repeatedly rejected genocide allegations, maintaining that its military targets Hamas and works to limit civilian casualties.

El-Sayed also held Michigan rallies in April with far-left streamer Hasan Piker, who previously said "America deserved 9/11" and later apologized. When Fox News host Will Cain pressed El-Sayed about their association in May, the candidate rejected the suggestion that campaigning with Piker meant endorsing all his remarks.

"Because he said something one time, you think I automatically believe that," El-Sayed said.

Accurso has kept her Gaza advocacy largely separate from her children’s programming. During an August PBS NewsHour interview, she defended speaking publicly about Palestinian children while responding to accusations that her advocacy promoted anti-Israel messaging.

"I think it’s sad to take someone’s dedication and love for all children and try and make that wrong," Accurso said.

Accurso previously gave $3,500 each to Brad Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier, two congressional candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani who defeated Democratic incumbents in June, the New York Post reported.

Accurso's husband, Aron Accurso, also gave $1,500 to Chevalier, according to FEC records.

The YouTuber has increasingly entered politics beyond campaign contributions. She told NBC News in March that she was working with lawyers and activists to close the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas after accusing the facility of "neglect and child abuse," Fox News Digital reported.

She embraced the political label during the interview while explaining her immigration advocacy.

"I am political," Accurso said. "It’s political to believe that children are worthy of love and care, and that every child is equal, and that our care shouldn’t stop at what we look like, our family, at our religion, at a border."

CoreCivic, which operates the Dilley facility, disputed Accurso’s allegations in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying it provides families with "safe, humane and compassionate care."

Accurso continued her immigration advocacy in June by meeting with families outside the Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, before traveling to Washington with letters and drawings from children in ICE custody to urge lawmakers to end family detention, according to The Washington Post.

Home cocktail maker says Gen Z isn't giving up alcohol — they're changing how they drink

The alcohol industry has long relied on young adults eventually becoming regular drinkers. Now, Gen Z is forcing the industry to shift as they embrace "sober-curious" lifestyles and search for quality beverages.

A 2025 Gallup poll found that the percentage of U.S. adults who said that they consume alcohol fell to 54%, the lowest rate in the 90 years it had been tracking. From 1997 to 2023, Gallup found that at least 60% of Americans reported drinking alcohol. The figure fell to 58% in 2024 and again to 54% in 2025.

The alcohol industry faces a new challenge. Rather than simply getting young adults to become lifelong customers, they now must convince them that their product is worth the price.

Ryan Close, the CEO and founder of Bartesian, said he is seeing consumers choose quality over quantity. He said they are not looking to consume more or less alcohol, but rather they're searching for better and higher-quality beverage options.

"I'm not gonna argue with the data, you know, they probably are drinking less alcohol. I think they're drinking less, but with the expectation that 'I want better,'" he told Fox News Digital, regarding Gen Z's drinking habits.

Bartesian makes an automated at-home cocktail machine that allows users to create bar-style cocktails by inserting flavor capsules and adding their own spirits.

Close told Fox News Digital that before starting Bartesian, he noticed people were mostly drinking wine and beer at home, despite ordering cocktails while out at bars and restaurants. He said many found cocktails to be too difficult and that they did not want to gather all the necessary bitters and other ingredients. Despite having years of bartending experience, Close struggled to make a classic cocktail: the Old Fashioned, a flavor that is available in Bartesian pods.

Close said that his company was built around the idea that consumers wanted premium cocktails at home that are made with good ingredients.

"We only use real ingredients so we're not putting anything artificial, no artificial colors or flavors in the cocktails, so, you're just getting that true quality freshness," he said.

HIGH-ALCOHOL, READY-TO-DRINK COCKTAILS SPARK OVERCONSUMPTION CONCERNS FOR GEN Z DRINKERS

Industry research suggests Close is not the only one noticing the shift toward a search for quality. In a Jan. 2 report outlining five consumer trends shaping the alcohol industry, NielsenIQ (NIQ) identified a similar pattern among drinkers. NIQ found that 67% of spirits drinkers and around half (52%) of average drinkers said they would be willing to pay more for higher quality drinks. Though NIQ's report looked at on-premises patterns, not at-home drinking.

Close believes the shift is going beyond what consumers drink and expanding to why they're drinking in the first place. He argued that Gen Z consumers are not looking to "drink for the sake of drinking," but are instead seeking to have a shared experience. Bartesian not only allows users to pick different flavors of cocktails, but also what kind of spirits and how much alcohol goes into the drinks, something Close said leans into this idea of wanting an experience.

"I just think the younger generation is more intentional and it's not about, 'Hey, I don't wanna drink at all,' it's, 'I wanna drink better, less often, and more quality,'" Close told Fox News Digital.

Many older Gen Z consumers turned 21 during the COVID-19 pandemic, as restaurants and bars across the country were closed or operating under tight restrictions. Close said he believes younger consumers are increasingly viewing the home as "an extension of restaurants and bars," creating a demand for premium at-home cocktail experiences.

Close said rising cocktail prices have only accelerated that shift, as consumers become more selective about how they spend their money. He recalled that during a recent trip to New York City, he found himself paying around $24 for a martini that was missing a key ingredient — blue cheese olives.

"I'm not looking to spend $75 on martinis when I know — especially without the blue cheese — when I can go home and make that exact same cocktail for $3 or $4," he said.

The trend, according to Close, is not about replacing bars and restaurants altogether, but rather meeting consumer demand who are more deliberate about what they drink, where they drink it and the value of experiences.

ICE prepares major operation targeting Haitians losing TPS after Supreme Court ruling

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to dramatically ramp up operations to locate and arrest Haitian nationals whose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is expected to end imminently, multiple federal sources told Fox News.

The expanded operation is expected to begin as soon as this week.

The Supreme Court’s certified judgment is expected to be transmitted to the lower courts Monday, clearing the way for the Trump administration to proceed with ending TPS for more than 300,000 Haitians.

Federal sources told Fox News that Ohio will be heavily targeted because Springfield, Ohio, has a large Haitian population. ICE leadership has been notified of the operational plans, the sources said.

Last month, the Supreme Court reversed lower-court judgments that had postponed the administration’s TPS terminations for Haiti and Syria while litigation continued.

TPS was first granted to Haiti following the country's devastating 2010 earthquake. The designation allows eligible foreign nationals from countries experiencing armed conflict, natural disasters or other extraordinary conditions to temporarily live and work legally in the United States.

SUPREME COURT WEIGHS TRUMP EFFORT TO TERMINATE TEMPORARY PROTECTIONS FOR HAITIAN, SYRIAN MIGRANTS

The anticipated enforcement operation follows the Trump administration's long-running effort to end Haiti's TPS designation, arguing that the program was never intended to become a permanent form of legal status.

Following the Supreme Court's decision, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson called the ruling "a tremendous win" for the administration.

"Today, the Supreme Court affirmed what President Trump has always maintained: temporary protected status is, by definition, temporary. It was never intended to be a pathway to permanent status or legal residency," Jackson told Fox News Digital. "The Trump Administration continues to lawfully end the egregious abuses to our immigration system that have hurt Americans for years."

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) General Counsel James Percival also praised the ruling in a post on X.

"The Court vindicates DHS yet again," Percival wrote. "The T in TPS stands for TEMPORARY, yet many of these designations became de facto amnesty. This is a win for the rule of law and common sense."

Skipping sleep may pack on pounds faster than you think, new study finds

Regularly cutting back on sleep could cause the number on the scale to creep up, according to new research.

A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that adults who got about 90 minutes less sleep each night for six weeks gained roughly one pound on average compared with periods when they got enough rest.

Researchers at Columbia University Irving Medical Center studied 95 adults who were already at risk for heart or metabolic disease, comparing six weeks of adequate sleep with six weeks of cutting about 90 minutes of sleep each night.

DOCTORS SAY 8 FORGOTTEN HABITS COULD HELP FIGHT STRESS, OBESITY AND CHRONIC DISEASE

By the end of the sleep-restricted phase, participants weighed about one pound more on average and had slightly larger waistlines. They also spent more time sitting, although their levels of moderate and vigorous exercise remained about the same.

While participants gained weight, researchers did not detect significant changes in body fat or muscle mass. They also did not track how much participants ate, so it's unclear what drove the increase.

Dr. Somi Javaid, an Ohio-based OB-GYN and founder of HerMD who was not involved in the study, told Fox News Digital that sleep plays an important role in regulating the body's metabolism.

Javaid said chronic sleep deprivation can make it harder for the body to regulate weight, but noted that women going through menopause may be especially vulnerable because sleep problems become more common during that stage of life.

"We are destroying women's sleep at the exact life stage when their metabolism is [the] least able to absorb the hit, then telling them to eat less and exercise more," Javaid said.

She added that the American Heart Association now recognizes sleep as one of its "Life's Essential 8" for heart health and recommends adults get seven to nine hours of sleep each night.

"Chronic short sleep is not a lifestyle quirk," Javaid said. "We need to treat sleep as a vital sign of health."

While the findings suggest regularly getting less sleep may contribute to weight gain, the researchers noted several limitations of the study.

They said the six-week study may not have been long enough to detect meaningful changes in body fat, which can take longer to develop than changes in body weight.

The researchers also noted that the study's relatively small sample size limited their ability to compare results among different groups of participants. In addition, some hormone measurements were collected only in the morning and may not have reflected fluctuations that occur throughout the day.

The pay raise quarterback Jacoby Brissett was looking for was finally given to him by the Arizona Cardinals.

Unlike most hold-ins/hold-outs, Brissett wasn’t looking for a new extension from his club, but rather a raise heading into the 2026 NFL season where he figures to be the starting quarterback. He was set to make $4.88 million as his base salary.

Now, Brissett is set to make $15.5 million in base pay for 2026, according to multiple reports. The new 2026 contract could also get up to $21 million with incentives.

This stalemate between the journeyman quarterback and the Cardinals sparked some debate over whether it was even right that Brissett was asking for a raise.

But following the release of Kyler Murray , who eventually signed with the Minnesota Vikings, Brissett was in line to be a starter, and he wished to be paid accordingly. His new deal isn’t remotely close to top starter money, however, Brissett appears happy to finally get to common ground.

It’s yet another regime change for the Cardinals, with Mike LaFleur assuming the head coach role left vacant after the firing of Jonathan Gannon. Brissett sits atop the depth chart after the Murray cut, while Arizona drafted Miami quarterback Carson Beck and signed Gardner Minshew II for competition at training camp.

Brissett took over starting duties during the 2025 season after Murray suffered a foot injury. It wasn’t soon before Brissett was operating the Cardinals’ offense more efficiently than his injured teammate, with players like tight end Trey McBride and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. seeing an uptick in their own stat lines.

Brissett is scheduled for free agency after this season, but perhaps he can remain in good favor with the Cardinals with another good year. The offense around him was also bolstered, especially with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love being drafted third overall back in April.

Brissett has been working out with his teammates to begin training camp, including newcomers like Love, but he hasn’t been participating in 11-on-11 sessions of practice. That should change now after the raise agreement.

But the pay raise doesn’t necessarily mean Brissett is guaranteed the starting role come Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He will have to earn that spot over Minshew and Beck, though he has the rapport necessary with the team’s top pass game options to think he will do just that.

At least one person was killed, and six others were injured after gunfire erupted at a massive party in rural California Saturday night, sending hundreds of attendees scrambling for safety, authorities said.

The incident unfolded shortly after 10 p.m. local time in Morgan Hill, about 25 miles south of San Jose, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the gathering was an unsanctioned party promoted on social media that drew more than 300 attendees.

WNBPA says it did not ask WNBA to drop USA 250 All-Star patch after union officer publicly objected

The WNBA Players Association says it did not ask the league to abandon a reported plan to place USA 250 patches on its All-Star uniforms, despite public criticism of the idea from one of the union’s elected officers.

In a statement to OutKick and Fox News Digital, the WNBPA said members of player leadership contacted the league after Sportico reported that the patches would appear on the uniforms during Saturday’s All-Star Game in Chicago.

According to the union, the WNBA said at the time that no final decision had been made. The league later informed player leaders that it would instead commemorate the country’s 250th anniversary through "America 250" signage in and around the arena and by honoring veterans during the game.

"The league did not seek union input nor was the matter put before player leadership for action," the WNBPA told OutKick/Fox News Digital.

The statement undercuts the claim that the union formally demanded that the patches be removed, or held a vote opposing them. It doesn’t explain why the WNBA decided against putting the patch on the uniforms after Sportico reported that the league planned to do so, or whether the public objection from WNBPA treasurer Brianna Turner influenced that decision.

The WNBA did not respond to questions from OutKick and Fox News Digital about the union’s statement, who made the final decision or why the league chose not to use the patch.

The patches are part of a national initiative that has included the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, NASCAR, UFC and WWE. Every player wore one during the Super Bowl, while NBA players wore them throughout the Finals.

The WNBA was not listed in the initial Fanatics and America250 announcement, but Sportico later reported that the league planned to use the patches during All-Star Weekend.

Then the proposal reached the WNBA.

Las Vegas Aces forward Brianna Turner, who serves as treasurer of the WNBA Players Association and sits on its executive committee, publicly criticized the reported plan.

"Whoever called for the WNBA all-star uniforms to have the USA 250 patch should have thought that through considering no WNBA players would have been free 250 years ago," Turner wrote on social media.

She added that the league’s players are among the world’s most elite female athletes, but that 250 years ago they would have been "breeders or in the fields working all day."

"Be so serious rn," Turner concluded.

Turner’s comments came before members of player leadership contacted the league about the Sportico report. The WNBPA now says those conversations were limited to seeking information and that the union neither provided input nor considered formal action on the patch.

WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike later confirmed that the Sportico report prompted players to raise the matter directly with league leadership.

"As players, we did ask about it," Ogwumike told reporters Friday, one day before the All-Star Game. "I think being in a league where you’re able to have that type of conversation with your leadership is important."

Breanna Stewart, another member of the WNBPA executive committee, was asked Friday whether the patches would appear on the All-Star uniforms.

"No, they’re not on the jerseys," Stewart responded.

At the time, neither Ogwumike nor Stewart explained whether players had objected to the patches during their conversations with the league. The WNBPA’s subsequent statement says the matter was never presented to player leadership for action.

What remains unclear is what happened inside the WNBA after player leaders asked about the report. The union says it offered no input and was never asked to take action, but the league has not explained why it ultimately chose arena signage and a veterans tribute rather than the uniform patch.

OutKick and Fox News Digital asked the WNBA whether it initially planned or agreed to use the patches, whether the WNBPA or individual players asked that they be removed, whether any All-Star said she would refuse to wear a uniform featuring one. We also asked who made the final decision and whether the league plans to recognize America’s 250th anniversary in another way.

The league didn’t respond by publication.

Several reports and social media posts described WNBA players as "refusing" to wear the patches, but the WNBPA statement cuts against that framing. The union says player leaders neither offered input nor took formal action on the issue, and there remains no public evidence that any All-Star threatened to reject a jersey featuring the patch.

The WNBA’s only public statement came shortly after the Sportico report and Turner’s criticism.

"Like other major sports leagues, we are exploring how best to commemorate the country’s 250th anniversary," the league told USA Today. "Nothing has been finalized at this time."

That statement gave the WNBA plenty of room to retreat without taking responsibility for the final decision. It also avoided the obvious problem with Turner’s argument: America’s founding ideals were not the cause of the injustices she cited. They provided the moral and legal foundation Americans later used to defeat them.

Turner later softened her initial comments, telling USA Today that she was thankful for what the country had provided her but believed America had not yet achieved "true equality for everybody."

See, here's the problem with all the people who say things like "not everyone is equal in America." Faced with the obvious counterargument, "Please name one law in the United States that proves all citizens are not equal under the law," they never have an answer. Turner didn’t provide any examples of Americans not having "true equality."

If she means that every American does not have the same income, experiences or outcomes, she is correct. No society in human history has produced that form of equality, and holding a country up against a hypothetical utopia is a ridiculous standard that no society could ever reach.

If she means Americans are not equal under the law, however, she is simply wrong.

The Constitution guarantees equal protection of the laws, while federal civil rights statutes prohibit discrimination based on race and sex in employment, education and other major areas of public life. That doesn't mean discrimination never occurs, prejudice has vanished or every person is treated fairly in every interaction. Laws are broken every day, and injustice will always exist as long as human beings exist.

But Turner’s claim treats the continued existence of unfairness as proof that legal equality does not exist. Those aren't the same thing.

There are countries in the world today where women face genuine, government-enforced inequality. Under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, women and girls have been banned from participating in sports and pushed out of education, employment and public life. United Nations experts have said no other country imposes a comparable nationwide prohibition on women participating in sports.

That is legal inequality, and it exists in the world in 2026.

But Turner lives in a country where women can become professional athletes, labor leaders, executives, judges, elected officials and business owners. She earns a living playing basketball in the most prominent women’s professional league in the world. She is free to criticize her employer, the government and the country without facing government punishment.

Her public objection was defended by the president of her union. Whether Turner’s criticism influenced the league’s decision remains unanswered, and the WNBPA says player leadership didn't formally participate in that decision.

That's not evidence that America has failed to make progress. It's evidence of exactly the opposite. It shows just how much progress the country has made.

Turner’s argument freezes America in 1776 and ignores the 250 years that followed. The founding principles she treats as irrelevant became the framework Americans used to expand citizenship, voting rights and equal protection under the law. The WNBA itself, and Turner’s ability to earn a living as a professional athlete while publicly criticizing the country, are products of that progress.

Essentially, the existence of the WNBA is the perfect argument for American greatness. Yet, it's sad to see how many players and coaches in the league seem unwilling to acknowledge that.

Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve offered a more measured explanation Friday, describing the patch question as a "difficult balancing act." She said the league represents people with different political views and should be capable of recognizing the country’s anniversary while continuing to address social issues.

Fine, but wearing a small patch acknowledging America’s 250th birthday doesn't actually require "balance."

The patch didn't endorse a political candidate or claim that the United States had never done anything wrong. It didn't ask WNBA players to abandon their beliefs or stop advocating for their preferred causes.

It was a bare-minimum acknowledgment of the founding of the country in which the league operates and the freedoms that allow its players to speak as loudly as they do and the one that allows them to earn a living playing basketball.

That freedom is not universal: World Bank Group data says women are legally barred from certain jobs and industries in 77 economies.

Professional sports remain one of the few areas of American life where people with dramatically different political views regularly gather around a shared team, city or country. Patriotic moments in sports work because they don’t need to be complicated. Athletes representing the United States hear the national anthem and understand that they are competing for something larger than themselves. Fans see the flag and take pride in the country those athletes represent.

The WNBA often seems determined to turn even the simplest patriotic gesture into an unnecessary ideological debate.

Players have the right to do that. Turner is free to believe America’s founding is not worthy of celebration because the country failed to live up to its stated ideals in 1776. Ogwumike and the WNBPA are free to amplify that argument and question the league’s decisions.

The public is equally free to find the position ridiculous and hypocritical, and choose to support other leagues that better represent their feelings.

The WNBPA has now provided its account of the jersey patch controversy. It says player leaders sought information, offered no input and were never asked to take action on the patch.

That leaves the WNBA with several unanswered questions. Why did the league move away from the uniform patch? Did Turner’s public criticism factor into the decision? Did any individual player express opposition? And why did the league choose less visible arena signage rather than join other major sports organizations in putting the commemoration on its uniforms?

The union has answered for itself. The league has not.

The WNBA is one of the clearest examples of the progress Turner claims has not produced "true equality." Women earn a living as professional athletes, exercise influence through a powerful labor union and publicly criticize their employer and country without government retaliation.

Yet when the league reportedly considered putting a small symbol of America’s 250th anniversary on its All-Star uniforms, the patch never appeared.

The WNBA still has not explained why.

Apple, Google news algorithms suppressed negative stories on Michigan Senate hopeful El-Sayed, study says

Apple News and Google News displayed no negatively framed headlines about progressive Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in the top 20 morning stories reviewed after Feb. 10, according to a Media Research Center study published Friday as voters prepared for next month's primary.

MRC President David Bozell warned that the feeds' selections could leave voters without a complete picture of a candidate.

"Most Americans don't search dozens of news websites every day," Bozell said. "They open Apple News or Google News and read what’s presented to them."

The conservative media watchdog said it identified at least 104 stories from right-leaning outlets about El-Sayed's record, statements and policies that did not appear in the feeds it reviewed. Apple News and Google News each featured only one headline about Michigan's Senate race, MRC found, and neither headline focused on controversies involving El-Sayed.

MRC said its researchers tracked the top 20 Google News stories each morning from Nov. 1 through July 21 and Apple News from Nov. 3 through July 21. Researchers searched for "Michigan," "Abdul" and "El-Sayed," then used sentiment analysis to classify relevant headlines as negative, neutral and positive.

MRC said researchers logged the top 20 stories each morning at 8:30 a.m. ET on a "clean" computer, clearing search histories and cookies before every review to prevent personalization. The group said it tested whether sources and story types changed throughout the day before launching the tracker and found no statistically significant differences. Researchers examined Google News’ default home tab, not its search engine.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, MRC President David Bozell connected the latest findings to the group’s previous investigation of Google News coverage involving former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. Platner was forced to exit the race after a rape accusation from a former girlfriend that was the latest of numerous scandals and controversies during his candidacy.

"MRC’s investigation found that Google News did not feature more than 250 stories covering controversies involving Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner," Bozell said. "During the same period, 69% of the outlets featured in Google News’ top news selections were left-leaning, compared with just 3% that were right-leaning."

Bozell said the findings raised questions about whether the platform was giving users a comprehensive view of major political stories.

"Google News presents itself as a comprehensive news product, but Google News consumers should not have to wonder whether major, newsworthy reporting about candidates is being left out of what they see," Bozell said.

"Our findings raise serious questions about whether Google News is providing users with the complete picture they expect," he said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Apple, Google and El-Sayed for further comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Stories identified by MRC addressed questions about El-Sayed's use of the physician title, his campaigning with far-left streamer Hasan Piker, his acceptance of an endorsement from Arab American Political Action Committee leader Osama Siblani and his support for Medicare for All, abolishing ICE and shifting funding away from police departments.

El-Sayed also faced scrutiny after CNN's Manu Raju asked him in April whether he considered the Israeli government to be as evil as Hamas.

"Yes, killing tens of thousands of people makes you pretty damn evil," El-Sayed said. "Hamas: Evil, Israeli government: Evil. We can say both."

The Aug. 4 primary narrowed to El-Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens after state Sen. Mallory McMorrow suspended her campaign. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer endorsed Stevens on Friday.

The findings concerning El-Sayed followed an earlier MRC study alleging Apple News and Google News failed to promote at least 112 stories scrutinizing Platner between November and May.

Google disputed that analysis, saying it relied on a single daily snapshot from one account and failed to account for updates, interests and location.

"These claims are totally false and based on a completely flawed methodology," a Google spokesperson told Fox News Digital in reference to coverage of Platner.

Apple said its Top Stories are selected by editors and appear the same for every user, while other portions of its Today feed can be personalized.

Disgraced coach Sherrone Moore puts Ann Arbor home on market for $1.7 million after Michigan affair

Sherrone Moore, the ex-Michigan Wolverines head coach who was fired after his affair with an executive assistant, and his wife are trying to leave town.

Moore has listed his Ann Arbor, Michigan home for $1.7 million, according to Realtor.com. The listing is about a 15-minute drive to the university.

The Detroit News identified the home on Walnut Ridge Drive as Moore’s. The five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom residence has a half-acre of property and was last sold at $1.3 million in 2023.

Moore was on Jim Harbaugh’s staff that year, serving as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach before serving as acting head coach for one game due to Harbaugh’s suspension.

Moore would later take over as Michigan’s head coach, getting the promotion after Harbaugh took the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coach position following a national championship-winning campaign.

Moore has since been sentenced to 18 months of probation and spared jail time after pleading no contest to two misdemeanors, which came after his actions post-firing.

Shriver disclosed the relationship to Michigan officials, ultimately leading to his firing.

Kelli Moore, the coach’s wife, was by his side in court this past April, where she also wrote a letter to the judge presiding over the case, asking for leniency in her husband’s sentencing.

"There is a certain irony in a lot of this - the person quite frankly, Mr. Moore, who is saving you from the full wrath of this court is the one you betrayed," Judge Cedric Simpson said to Moore, referencing his wife also stating her will to stay in the marriage. "I don’t know where your wife, Kelli, finds her strength.

"When all the circumstances are happening and they’re happening to her and she’s absorbing them in real time, she does not once lose her focus. She not once bats an eye to sort of doubt you. She not once wants something terrible to happen for you."

Now, the Moore family is looking to recover from the scandal, and where exactly they wish to move to if they sell the home remains to be seen.

It’s hard to think, however, that Moore will land another coaching job in football despite his expertise.

Moore was also ordered to pay just over $1,000 in fines as part of his plea deal. He also must continue mental health treatment and may not use alcohol or marijuana, may not have any weapons, and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

A top Democratic socialist leader on Sunday embraced abolishing the Senate, national borders, prisons and more, laying bare the movement's sweeping agenda as ideological divisions within the Democratic Party continue to deepen.

Speaking to Fox News' Shannon Bream, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) national co-chair Megan Romer fired off a series of "yes" and "true" responses when asked whether the organization's platform calls for dismantling major American institutions.

"[You're advocating for] abolish[ing] the Senate?" Bream asked.

"True," Romer responded.

She said some proposals, including abolishing borders and prisons, are part of the organization's long-term vision.

Explaining the push to eliminate the Senate, Romer called the chamber "an anachronistic institution" that was designed to limit the influence of ordinary Americans.

"The Senate was part of the system that was made to make sure that the people didn't have too much of a say. So we want to expand Congress significantly, but make it a unicameral legislature," Romer said.

Romer also defended the DSA's decision to field candidates on the Democratic ballot line despite criticism from party leaders who argue the organization should build its own political party.

"The two parties have, over years and decades, created a system where ballot line access is extremely difficult for third parties," Romer said.

"We run on the Democratic ballot line where it makes sense. We run independents sometimes where that is a viable possibility, but it's a ballot line. What matters is what the voters think, and the voters are overwhelmingly choosing our candidates," she said.

The comments come as a growing number of prominent Democrats warn the party risks alienating voters by embracing positions championed by the Democratic Socialists of America.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani of "fomenting hate," arguing Sunday the democratic socialist's anti-Israel rhetoric is dividing New Yorkers and making the city's Jewish community feel unsafe.

"Look what he's doing. He's fomenting hate. He's supposed to be the mayor of all New Yorkers, Jews, Christians, Muslims, everyone, but he's trying to turn one group against the other," Netanyahu told "Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo.

Netanyahu said Jewish Americans in New York have told him they are growing more fearful.

The Israeli leader was referring to last week's stabbing outside a Manhattan synagogue, where authorities allege 51-year-old Raul Morales stabbed a Jewish man in the chest with a screwdriver while shouting "Allahu Akbar."

Reports also allege Morales yelled the same phrase during a separate stabbing of a 57-year-old Asian man.

Netanyahu appeared to be referring to Mamdani's remarks from last week, in which Mamdani acknowledged that New York City officials lack the legal authority to arrest Netanyahu under the International Criminal Court's (ICC) warrant, but urged federal officials to do so.

Mamdani called Netanyahu a "war criminal" and "the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people" during the address.

"I'm not concerned [about Mamdani]," Netanyahu said.

Some e-bikes can reach speeds of up to 28 miles per hour, increasing the potential severity of crashes on sidewalks and streets.

Fox 2 Detroit spoke with emergency room doctor Robert Sherwin of the Detroit Medical Center, who reported seeing everything from minor injuries to major trauma related to e-bike incidents.

"These Class 3 bikes are probably more like motor vehicles," he said. "They travel up to 28 miles an hour, and a lot of riders aren't expecting that, might not be experienced in that."

"These e-bikes are heavier than regular bikes, and they travel much faster, but the human body doesn't change just because a bike has a motor."

Fox 2 Detroit also spoke with local bike shop owner John Hughes, who suggested the "real issue" has always been sharing the road with cars.

"Cars aren't looking out for bikes... people don't respect bikes as a form of transportation, and that's where it gets dangerous."

Hughes continued, "There's a ton of traffic out there. Everyone is on their cellphones. They're texting and driving constantly."

E-bike rider Cam Cason told Fox 2 Detroit that he takes his e-bike to work and school, crediting it as a "very efficient way" to get around.

"Way better than a car, in my opinion," he said. "When you don't have to spend $30 or $40 just to get some gas, use the electric bike to get where you need to go."

As concerns over e-bike safety grow nationwide, states are beginning to tighten regulations. In New Jersey, a new law enacted this year requires e-bikes to be registered, and riders must be at least 15 years old and possess either a valid driver's license or an e-bike license to operate one.

The law was enacted amid growing concerns about e-bike crashes, including the death of a New Jersey teenager. Supporters argued that licensing, helmet and registration requirements would promote responsible riding and reduce bodily harm.

NYU Langone Health released an advisory in April on the surge in brain and spine injuries related to e-bikes and scooters among riders and pedestrians in New York City.

According to a study published in the journal Neurosurgery, medical emergencies involving pedal-powered and electric bikes and scooters accounted for nearly 7% of trauma patients admitted to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.

One-third of the 914 patients treated for injuries involving pedal-powered and electric bikes and scooters suffered a traumatic brain injury. More than two-thirds required hospital admission and about 30% needed intensive care.

Physical harm linked to electric bikes and scooters increased from less than 10% of cases in 2018 to more than half by 2023, according to the study. The most common cause of injury, accounting for about half of all cases, was a collision with a car or truck.

Fewer than one-third of riders wore helmets, which was linked to a "significantly higher rate" of brain and facial injuries. The study found that 20% of patients tested positive for alcohol, which was associated with more severe head trauma and lower rates of helmet use.

Pedestrians struck by electric vehicles suffered brain injuries at nearly twice the rate of riders, according to an analysis of 69 pedestrian cases.

Corresponding author Hannah Weiss, MD, a resident in the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, commented in a statement that these findings suggest "micromobility injuries are producing serious brain and spinal trauma that demands neurosurgical care at a scale we haven’t seen before."

"In a busy urban setting, we are seeing more and more of these injuries firsthand," she went on. "The data point to actionable solutions – helmet use, safer bike lane design and enforcement – that could prevent many of these injuries and better protect both riders and pedestrians."

Paul P. Huang, MD, associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and chief of neurosurgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, added that the study highlights that "urban infrastructure must continue to improve to keep pace with the rapid rise of electric bikes and scooters."

"Future studies should track these injuries across multiple cities and measure whether protected bike lanes, helmet programs and speed enforcement actually reduce the number of brain and spine surgeries we perform," Huang said.

Berlin Pride attack suspect killed in police confrontation: AP

A suspect in the attack at Berlin's Pride festival that left one person dead and at least 29 others injured was killed during a confrontation with police in a nearby suburb, The Associated Press reported, citing authorities.

German authorities on Sunday launched an intensive manhunt for Abdul Ballout, a German citizen with Lebanese roots. Ballout was killed following a nearly 24-hour search. Prosecutors said he had previously sought to join the militant Islamic State group.

"Everything we see here points to us dealing with an Islamic terror attack," German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said.

The minister said the suspect had previously come to the attention of authorities for multiple crimes, as well as his "radicalization and belonging to the Islamist scene."

Dobrindt said Ballout was born in Germany and that his mother became a naturalized German citizen in 2002, three years before he was born. He said the suspect previously received a suspended prison sentence of one year and 10 months but did not disclose what he had been convicted of.

Police said a white van drove into a crowd in Berlin's Tiergarten park around 10 p.m. on Saturday before crashing into a tree. Authorities say the suspect then attacked several people with a machete before fleeing.

The attack happened a few hundred yards from Berlin's annual Christopher Street Day Pride celebration — one of Europe's largest LGBTQ+ events — but not on the parade route or at the festival's closing event near the Brandenburg Gate. Investigators said the victims appeared to include both Pride attendees and other people who were in the park.

Organizers stopped the celebration shortly after the attack, cutting off a live performance and urging people to leave the area.

Police spokesman Florian Nath earlier said the suspect was known to investigators because of his alleged ties to Islamic groups in Berlin.

"We still have no information whatsoever regarding his specific motives, the exact sequence of events, or his role in the crime itself."

Clark was told the news on Monday during a taping of ESPN's 'NFL Live' after OutKick had obtained the information and had asked the network for comment. ESPN acted in such a manner, telling Clark during a taping, in an attempt to keep OutKick's Dan Zaksheske and Bobby Burack from breaking the story.

TikTok influencer who accused estranged husband of pedophilia found dead in possible murder-suicide

TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, also known as Sara Duffey, posted weeks ago alleging that her husband was a pedophile. The estranged couple has since been found shot to death in the woman's Oklahoma home in what is reportedly believed to have been a murder-suicide.

Gilson, who had recently filed a protective order against her husband, 48-year-old Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey, posted the TikTok video on July 11. It was captioned, "Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile." The video was still visible on her account as of Saturday.

Thirteen days after she posted that video, police reportedly responded to a domestic call on July 24 at 41-year-old Gilson's home. When officers arrived, they found Gilson and Duffey dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to local outlet KTUL.

KTUL cited an extended family member who identified the pair as the dead bodies in the home and said that Jeremiah, who went by Shawn, allegedly broke into the home, killed Sara and then himself. Police insisted there was no threat to the public at this time, according to KRMG.

On the same day she filed her protective order, another woman filed for a separate protective order against Duffey after he was allegedly spotted "kissing and fondling" her 15-year-old daughter, who played on the youth basketball team Duffey coached, according to The Oklahoman.

What's more, Texas isn't relying on a single boomtown. Dallas-Fort Worth added more residents than any metropolitan area in the country over the past year, while Houston, Austin and San Antonio also ranked among the nation's fastest-growing metros.

That unusual breadth gives Texas multiple engines of economic growth, providing businesses with larger labor pools, diversified industries and a broader customer base than states anchored by a single dominant city.

BILLIONS IN TAXPAYER INCOME ARE LEAVING TWO ICONIC STATES — AS A NEW ECONOMIC MAP EMERGES

The population boom has been accompanied by an influx of wealth. IRS migration data analyzed by the Tax Foundation show the Lone Star State gained more than $5 billion in adjusted gross income from interstate movers, while California and New York recorded multibillion-dollar losses.

Black bears invade Lake Tahoe homes as break-ins surge and locals fortify defenses

Black bears are increasingly breaking into homes around Lake Tahoe, leaving residents to spend thousands of dollars protecting their properties from hungry wildlife.

So far this year, South Lake Tahoe police have received 174 bear-related calls, compared with 97 during the same period last year, according to The Wall Street Journal. Several incidents involved bears making their way into homes.

One local couple told the publication they were washing dishes when they looked up to find a bear standing in their living room.

The animal wandered through the house, sniffed a tube of toothpaste in the bathroom and urinated on the floor before leaving. It was the couple's second bear break-in within the span of a month, the publication said.

As encounters become more common, some homeowners have begun installing electric mats, reinforced doors and other deterrents that can cost thousands of dollars.

Resident Margaret Deanesly Ziegler has installed everything from electric deterrents to a steel door to protect her summer cabin from bears, spending about $7,500 in the process, WSJ reported.

"I heard the most god-awful noise," the retired physician told the publication. "I heard the house being wrenched, the wood being torn apart."

"The bears are winning," Ziegler said. "I'm the one that's spending the money."

Similar encounters have occurred across the Lake Tahoe Basin in recent weeks.

Fox News Digital previously reported that a California man deployed bear spray after a black bear charged toward him outside his vacation home over the Fourth of July holiday. He spotted the animal rummaging through a garbage can inside his garage.

Video of the encounter captured the bear rushing toward the homeowner before he deployed the spray, sending the animal running away.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife notes on its website that black bears are "highly food-motivated" and naturally investigate attractive smells in search of food.

The department recommends eliminating food attractants and blocking access to them with bear-proof containers, electric fencing or electric mats. It also warns that bears accustomed to human food can become increasingly bold and destructive, while cubs often learn those behaviors from their mothers.

The increase in encounters has also sparked debate among Lake Tahoe residents over whether bears or people are driving the problem.

"We don't have a bear problem, we have a people problem," one Reddit user wrote.

Another resident shared that a bear broke into their home earlier this year despite keeping trash secured, writing that they eventually installed bear mats because "it's just the price we pay to live side by side with bears."

Others said bears have remained a routine part of life around Lake Tahoe and that conflicts can often be avoided.

On Tisha B'Av, the saddest day in the Jewish calendar marking the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem and the long history of catastrophes that followed, an assailant armed with a knife walked up to two men on Manhattan's Upper West Side and stabbed them. One wore a yarmulke.

Witnesses said the assailant shouted, "Allahu Akbar." The victims, ages 50 and 57, survived. A suspect is in custody, and police are examining the motive. But New York City did not need to wait for a formal designation to understand the gravity of the crime that had been perpetrated.

Only a day earlier, Zohran Mamdani, the mayor of the city with the largest Jewish community in the Diaspora, released a video accusing Israel of war crimes and genocide — and declared that Benjamin Netanyahu, the elected leader of the region's only democracy, should be arrested.

SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY YELLING ‘ALLAHU AKBAR,' STABBING 2 MEN IN NYC ATTACK

The mayor of an American city has no such power. Municipal leaders are forbidden by law from carrying out their own foreign policy. Nevertheless, Mamdani’s public relations stunt, amplified not only on social media but by the media of record, used language decrying the Jewish state as a criminal enterprise and suggesting that its defenders are fair game, setting the stage for bloodshed.

Jewish organizations had warned that the climate in the city was becoming dangerous. Their prescient warnings became prophetic as police officers cleaned up the crime scene.

It would not be appropriate to claim that any politician placed the weapon in the hands of the man who allegedly stabbed two innocent New Yorkers while attempting to terrorize the American Jewish community.

JEWISH LEADERS FAULT MAMDANI RHETORIC AS UPPER WEST SIDE STABBING, HATE CRIME PROBE CONTINUES

I contend something far more uncomfortable and dangerous: words and ideas lead to such actions, and a public culture that brands the Jewish state as genocidal or apartheid and treats "resistance" as a virtue normalizes a permission structure — in the dockets of justice and in the halls of power — in which such violence becomes thinkable.

This is the argument of a report that the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism & Policy (ISGAP) published on Mamdani in 2025. It is the argument that the events of this week have tragically underscored.

The report traces the origins of Mamdani’s worldview. As a student at Bowdoin College, Mamdani co-founded a chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. In the aftermath of Oct. 7 — the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust — he downplayed the atrocity while characterizing Israel's legally justified defensive response as genocide.

FAR-LEFT STREAMER HASAN PIKER DEFENDS HIMSELF FROM ANTISEMITISM ACCUSATIONS IN INTERVIEW WITH JEWISH OUTLET

He repeatedly declined to condemn the slogan "globalize the intifada," offering only that he would "discourage" its use, as though a call to export anti-Jewish violence to the streets of America were merely a matter of etiquette. He introduced legislation to punish New York charitable institutions that support Israel. His first act as mayor, before addressing police unions and garbage collection, was to remove the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism from the city’s lexicon.

He accepted a $100,000 donation from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an organization identified by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism-financing case, and he has associated with figures such as Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who served as a character witness for the man convicted of masterminding the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

These are not stray data points. His close friend, influencer Hasan Piker, and political candidates Mamdani has openly endorsed assert that the United States deserved what it got on Sept. 11, 2001 — a travesty as we prepare to honor the 25th anniversary of the attack on New York City itself. Mamdani’s words and actions form a dangerous pattern, and that pattern has a name: the Muslim Brotherhood.

ISGAP research on the Brotherhood's strategic entryism into North America describes a century-long campaign that its own internal documents lay out plainly. "The Project" of 1982 and the "Explanatory Memorandum" of 1991 — evidence entered in federal court — describe a strategy the authors call "civilization jihad": to exploit the freedoms of Western democracies to hollow them out from within, patiently, over generations, until the host society no longer recognizes what has been done to it.

Front organizations advise governments, shape civil-rights policy, embed themselves in universities and cultivate media, all while presenting a moderate face. Qatar underwrites much of it. Students for Justice in Palestine and American Muslims for Palestine sit within this ecosystem, and Hamas, which calls itself the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and which the U.S. has designated a foreign terrorist organization, is what the ideology produces.

The Brotherhood is Sunni; the revolutionary regime in Tehran is Shia. On almost everything else, they are rivals, yet they converge on one project: the destruction of Israel and the humiliation of the West. When an American mayoral candidate adopts the same moral and political map, in which Israel is the aggressor and its enemies are the aggrieved, he is not dissenting bravely from consensus. He is translating a dangerous ideology into the fluent, sympathetic idiom of Western progressivism, where it does its most effective work precisely because it no longer seems foreign.

This is why the antisemitism at the center of Mamdani's politics cannot be waved away as a mere progressive ideology. Antisemitism is the oldest early-warning system a society has. It begins with Jews, and it never ends there. The same worldview that marks Jews as obstacles also marks pluralism, free exchange and the liberal democratic order itself as enemies. An assault on the Jews of New York is an assault on the idea of New York, on the essence of the American democratic experiment.

Listen closely to how Mamdani talks about his own city. The wealthy, landlords and the "billionaire class," in his telling, are a shadowy few who hoard the city and lock everyone else out. The language is reminiscent of Der Sturmer and the films produced by Joseph Goebbels. Presented as economic justice, this is familiar and dangerous rhetoric.

The oldest antisemitic libels have always relied on the image of a rich, rootless minority pulling the strings while ordinary people suffer. When a politician's economic populism runs on the same rails as his hostility toward the Jewish state, the two are not unrelated. They draw from the same well. This is why the assault is not merely on Jews or Israel. It is on the very fabric of the U.S. — on the idea that a free society is built through commerce, contract, and pluralism rather than resentment, expropriation and the search for an enemy within.

A man was knifed outside a synagogue on the saddest day of the Jewish year in a city whose mayor spends his energy accusing the Jewish state of genocide. We must say clearly what connects the rhetoric to the risk, refuse the normalization of hatred dressed up as social justice, and insist that words that prepare the ground for violence be named for what they are before the next knife is drawn.

Unrestrained by his theatrical and ineffectual call for Netanyahu’s arrest, Mamdani now calls for massive demonstrations when the Israeli leader visits the city for the U.N. General Assembly in September.

It was a bit of a dull weekend on the diamond. I haven't been all that impressed with the matchups. Usually, baseball has some really good pairings for the weekend, but now and then, there aren't too many impressive series. I do like the Seattle and Texas one, but we've covered them once, and I don't have a great read on the game today. So, I'm going with the other game that I like - New York vs. Philadelphia.

The New York Yankees are just two games back in their division, but for whatever reason, it feels like this team is on the verge of a collapse. Maybe I'm exaggerating here, but something about the conversation from the media is that the Yankees are falling apart. I don't quite see it, but they do have a very talented roster on the injured list, so maybe that's the issue. The good news for them is that Ben Rice is having a fantastic season, their players could all return healthy in plenty of time, and they are still a likely playoff team.

The Yankees are looking for a sweep today, and they send out Will Warren to get the job done. Warren has been fine this year. He has been reliable, tossed a reasonable number of innings, and hasn't missed any time due to injury. He did, for some reason, pitch for less than an inning in relief on Wednesday. His numbers are seven wins and four losses, with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. Philadelphia hitters have seen him 31 times and gotten eight hits, with only Kyle Schwarber launching one over the fence.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been one of the better teams in baseball this season. They are 5.5 games back of the Braves at the moment, but this was a division that looked like Atlanta would lock up by the end of May, so this has been some progress. Looking at the team and players' statistics, the one thing that has stood out to me is that Schwarber leads them in homers, Brandon Marsh leads in average, and Bryce Harper leads in RBIs. It isn't just that three different guys lead them in three different categories; it is that there are even more on the team having really strong years. They have six guys hitting .240 or better.

It shouldn't be surprising that a good team has players performing well. Part of what makes the Phillies so dangerous is their ability to not need just one guy to carry the load. In the rotation, I will say one guy, tonight's starter, does seem to be carrying his weight and then some. Christopher Sanchez is having another solid year with a 12-4 record, 2.64 ERA, and a 1.19 WHIP. Sanchez has been fantastic at home with a 1.03 ERA as well. Honestly, the only bad home start he has had was the All-Star Game. Yankees hitters are hitting just .200 against him in 45 at-bats.

I'm sure we can find a player prop if you're looking for that sort of thing. Ever since sports betting became legal basically everywhere, I feel like the daily fantasy stuff is not as popular. Maybe it is, and I'm just not paying attention. Either way, Cody Bellinger is someone you might want to add on the team, and Ryan McMahon is someone to fade.

For the game, there are two options here - the Phillies, despite losing the first two games of this series, should win tonight. Sanchez has been great in Philadelphia. Paying -193 for them to win is not something I'm interested in. Instead, I am going to take the Phillies on the Run Line tonight. I've made this point before and need to follow it more. The Yankees have had 25 1-run games this year, and the Phillies have had 27. In 105 games, that's less than 25% of their final scores being decided by a run. Give me the Phillies -1.5.

Everyday Revolutionary War heroes take center stage in Trump's 'Spirit of '76' exhibit

EXCLUSIVE: Beneath a towering 23-foot bronze figure holding the Declaration of Independence aloft, designer Matthew Taylor stopped beside an equestrian statue that many Americans have likely never seen, or even heard of.

"Most Americans have never heard of Caesar Rodney," Taylor told Fox News Digital during an exclusive tour of the new Spirit of '76 exhibition at Freedom Plaza. "But we owe this man an enormous debt of gratitude."

The temporary installation, unveiled as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration, transforms Freedom Plaza into an open-air gallery honoring Revolutionary War figures whose names rarely appear in history textbooks.

Commissioned by President Donald Trump, the exhibition features 22 statues and sculptural installations, including a restored equestrian monument of Rodney, a towering "Spirit of Liberty" centerpiece, bronze figures representing Revolutionary soldiers, and an immersive memorial honoring Americans who died aboard British prison ships during the Revolution.

According to the National Park Service, the exhibit was created to honor the "heroes and martyrs of the Revolution" during America's semiquincentennial and is intended to celebrate the enduring "Spirit of '76' that continues to live on in every American heart."

The centerpiece installations include the Caesar Rodney equestrian statue, the "12 Soldiers of the Revolution," the Prison Ship Martyrs memorial and the 23-foot Spirit of Liberty statue.

Rather than beginning with George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, however, Taylor chose to introduce visitors to Rodney.

The Delaware statesman, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, is remembered for his legendary overnight ride from Dover to Philadelphia in July 1776. Suffering from severe illness, Rodney rode roughly 80 miles through a storm to cast the vote that broke Delaware's deadlock in favor of independence.

"Of all the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Caesar Rodney is one of the most exciting," Taylor said. "When Delaware's delegation was deadlocked, he rode through the night to cast the vote that helped secure American independence."

THE REVOLUTIONARY LANDMARKS WHERE WASHINGTON, ADAMS AND JEFFERSON CHANGED AMERICA

For decades, the bronze statue stood in Wilmington's Rodney Square before being removed in 2020. It now occupies one of the most prominent locations in the nation's capital, just blocks from both the White House and the Capitol.

From Rodney's ride, Taylor naturally guides visitors into the next chapter of the American story.

Arranged around the plaza are bronze sculptures representing 12 Revolutionary War soldiers. Rather than depicting famous generals, the statues celebrate ordinary Americans whose individual stories reflect the sacrifices of the Revolutionary generation.

"These are ordinary citizens who did extraordinary things," Taylor said. "Every one of these statues tells the story of someone who answered the call during the Revolution."

Among them is Samuel Whittemore, who fought British troops at age 78. According to Taylor, Whittemore was bayoneted multiple times, shot in the head and left for dead before surviving and living into his 90s.

Another figure, Simon Knowles, enlisted at just 15 years old and served alongside George Washington throughout much of the Revolutionary War before returning home to live as a farmer.

Taylor said those stories represent the exhibition's central message.

"Unlike monuments to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, these statues honor ordinary Americans who did extraordinary things," he said.

Nearby, another installation tells one of the Revolution's lesser-known tragedies.

Designed as visitors physically walk through its narrow bronze panels, the Prison Ship Martyrs memorial recreates the outline of a British prison ship. According to the National Park Service, nearly 12,000 Americans died aboard prison ships during the Revolutionary War; even more than were killed in combat during the conflict.

Taylor said the memorial is meant to immerse visitors in that experience.

"As you walk inside, you hear the water from the fountain," he explained during the tour. "It helps place you inside the story."

The fountain itself has also become part of the experience. Taylor noted it was recently restored to operation after years of sitting idle, providing the soundscape surrounding the memorial while complementing the plaza's redesign.

Towering above the entire exhibition stands the Spirit of Liberty, a new bronze figure inspired by iconic American monuments while looking toward the country's next 250 years.

Standing 23 feet tall, the statue holds an exact bronze replica of the Declaration of Independence in one hand while raising a sword skyward with the other. Around its base are reliefs depicting three defining moments of the Revolution: the signing of the Declaration of Independence, George Washington crossing the Delaware River and the British surrender at Yorktown.

"The Spirit of Liberty represents the sacrifices that gave birth to this nation," Taylor said.

During Fox News Digital's visit, visitors gathered around the plaza to photograph the statues against the Washington skyline. Low-angle views of the bronze figures framed them against bright summer skies, while Rodney's horse appeared frozen mid-stride as though continuing the historic ride that helped shape the nation's founding.

For Taylor, whose career has largely been spent both behind the camera and behind the scenes designing historical works, the exhibition is about more than commemorating famous names.

Instead, he hopes visitors leave thinking about people they had never encountered before arriving at Freedom Plaza.

If you watched the Super Bowl last year, you were probably a bit disappointed. I’m sure you weren’t if you were a Seahawks fan, and I know that I was happy about some of the outcomes, but the game itself was a bit boring. That was a lot different than the NFC Championship game, which was a fantastic back-and-forth battle between the Seahawks and the team we break down here, the Rams.

Last Year

As mentioned, the Los Angeles Rams made it to the NFC Championship before falling short against the Seahawks. It was a good run, but the Rams did look vulnerable in each of their playoff games. They started against the Panthers and seemed like they were going to lose until they had some Matthew Stafford heroics. Speaking of Stafford, he ended up with one of the best seasons of his career and the MVP award. In the Divisional Playoffs, he capitalized on a bad route or bad throw (depending on who you ask) from the Bears and stole a 20-17 overtime win. He was great against the Seahawks, but the Rams defense couldn’t get a stop.

Offseason additions and subtractions

That inability to get a stop may be part of the reason that Los Angeles went out and made a major splash this offseason. They traded for Myles Garrett, arguably the best defensive player on the planet at the moment. It was so big that even Aaron Donald is considering coming back to the team, and out of retirement. Stafford is coming back after contemplating retirement, so they shored up that concern. They added Trent McDuffie, one of the better cornerbacks in the league, and grabbed Jaylen Watson from free agency to address the other side of their secondary. Their defense should be even better.

Roster

If Donald comes out of retirement, he probably won’t be quite as elite as he was in the past, but I have to imagine he is still in shape and would be ready by the time the season starts. It doesn’t look like he is coming, though. Still, this defense, which was solid but not great last season, could be amazing this season. I don’t know that Stafford will lead the league in touchdowns and yards, but he still has Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. If his offensive line protects him and gives him time, he will carve up even the best defenses he faces.

Betting Outlook

I am all in on the Rams this year. I think they are the best team in the NFL and have very few exploitable weaknesses. They are in a tough division – the Seahawks will still be good, the 49ers are always a tough team – but I think 11.5 wins is an over for them. I have them at 13 wins for the year. I also like them to win the Super Bowl at +550. Maybe I’m overconfident in their defense with Garrett or a 38-year-old quarterback, but I think the Rams have all the pieces and will close the deal this season.
