Framber Valdez and wind-blown Wrigley Field make Tigers vs Cubs under 8.5 a compelling MLB play

Detroit's Tarik Skubal trade speculation looms as Valdez faces David Peterson with wind blowing in off Lake Michigan

Yesterday brought a loss on the Twins as I was backing the wrong horse in the race, apparently. The normally reliable Joe Ryan looked awful and allowed a bunch of runs early. I actually prefer to lose this way because I don't need to pay attention to it. It was the wrong read, and I can start looking at the next day of games. That was a game between two AL Central teams; I'm going to try one with another from the division as the Tigers take on the Cubs.

The Detroit Tigers are still below .500, but no one in the division has run away with the lead, so there is still a chance they can turn it around. You don't need to give them a big reminder about how August and September can change a division race. They were massive favorites last year to win the division, and the Guardians had a phenomenal stretch to steal the division. The Tigers got the last laugh as they won in the playoffs. Still, this team needs a jolt in one way or another, and all the talk surrounding them is about if Tarik Skubal will be traded or not.

During the offseason, they knew they would have to come to a decision about Skubal, and they signed Framber Valdez, the best available starter, to kind of soften the blow of losing Skubal. For the year, Valdez is 5-6 with a 4.10 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. Those numbers aren't terrible, but they also aren't exactly top-of-the-rotation quality, either. Valdez has done a pretty good job of keeping the ball down, overall. He has 178 ground balls as opposed to 158 fly balls, and that doesn't count his strikeouts. Cubs hitters haven't done particularly well against Valdez, either, batting just 4-for-32 against him.

The Chicago Cubs are basically in the same spot they were last season. They were solid as a club, but they are still looking up at the Milwaukee Brewers. They are one of the streakier clubs in baseball, and if their offense starts to slow down, they are really going to struggle. That's mostly because the pitching staff seems to be held together by duct tape and Band-Aids. They've made a couple of trades to get some arms that might help them for the year, but no one you really want to go into the postseason with.

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

One of those trades they made was for today's starter, David Peterson. His numbers are pretty ugly, but the Cubs either thought they could turn him around or saw something in him that made them think it was a worthwhile investment. He is 4-7 with a 6.45 ERA and a 1.64. He was much better in his last outing for them than his first. Against the Orioles, he went five innings and allowed two hits and one earned run. Against the Cardinals, he allowed 10 earned runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings. The Tigers are 3-for-8 against him.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Some ballparks have a bigger impact on betting than others. When the wind is blowing out at Wrigley Field, the ball flies out, and it seems like the total can't be high enough. Tonight, the wind will be blowing in. Peterson is more of a fly ball pitcher, but there shouldn't be too much damage against him, considering the wind can knock stuff down. Valdez is more of a ground ball pitcher. I think this game will go under the 8.5 total tonight thanks to both pitchers being aided by the wind. The Tigers also aren't a major offensive force to begin with. Give me the under.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

For more sports betting information and plays, follow David on X/Twitter: @futureprez2024

Jalen Brunson says Knicks haven't discussed White House visit despite owner saying they were going

The star guard told Variety the team will 'cross our bridge when we get to it' after the owner accepted Trump's invitation

New York Knicks owner James Dolan may have jumped the gun when he said his championship-winning squad would be White House bound.

Days after winning the team's first title in 53 years, Dolan announced that the team "receive[d] an invitation from the White House, which we accepted."

"Still have to figure out the details, but, yes, of course, I invited the president to come down to the game, right? He is a friend. I've known him for 30 years, and I'm very proud to bring the team to the White House," Dolan said at the time.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Well, Jalen Brunson is holding the horses.

"That’s something that we actually haven’t discussed as a team," Brunson told Variety in a recent interview. "And so, obviously, people are making assumptions and saying everything, but together we haven’t discussed it yet. And so we’ll cross our bridge when we get to it."

The Knicks would be the first NBA team to visit Trump in either of his terms, a note Brunson found "interesting."

President Donald Trump attended the Knicks' Game 3 loss to the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden. It turned out to be the only loss for the Knicks, who went on to win the NBA Finals in five games.

KNICKS CHAMPION JORDAN CLARKSON CAUGHT IN TRAVIS SCOTT NIGHTCLUB CHAOS AFTER STEPPING IN

Trump criticized the NBA for being "highly political" in 2020. NBA players were given the option to wear social justice messages on their jerseys, and numerous players knelt for the national anthem. During his trip to the Finals, Trump said basketball was "a little left-wing" but "great entertainment."

Knicks star Josh Hart has been critical of Trump in the past.

Dolan and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani got into a war of words during the Finals regarding watch parties. Dolan then appeared to take a shot at Mamdani during the team's victory celebration at City Hall and did his best to stiff him in a photo op.

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

The Dolan-Mamdani beef is hardly new. The spat began during the election cycle when Mamdani used the Knicks logo for his campaign, and the team issued a cease-and-desist letter. The White House then used the Knicks logo in a post shortly after last year's election to say, "Trump Is Your President." The Knicks reached out to the White House, which then removed the post.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"The Knicks remain neutral on political matters," the team said in a statement at the time.
Trump admin pausing over $1B in Medicaid payments to Minnesota, California over fraud, compliance concerns

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says states must prove payments were legitimate before receiving another taxpayer dollar

The Trump administration is freezing more than $1 billion in federal Medicaid funding to California and Minnesota over suspected fraud, with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. warning Tuesday that states won't receive another taxpayer dollar until they prove the payments were legitimate.

"If Governor Gavin Newsom or Governor Tim Walz wants this funding released, all they have to do is provide basic documentation showing that these services are legitimate and not fraudulent. And that's common sense," Kennedy said during a news conference on Tuesday.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

This is a developing news story; check back for updates.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher rips 'f—ing fata–' umpire for getting in defender's way on ground ball

Caleb Ferguson was already irritated, having allowed a grand slam earlier in the inning

Things are just continuing to go from bad to worse for the Cincinnati Reds.

After starting the season with a 20-12 record, they are just 25-43 in their last 68 games, and they were handed an 8-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

But the Reds suffered an absolute facepalm moment in the bottom of the seventh inning, which had already gone awry thanks to Cal Raleigh's grand slam.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

However, the Reds didn't get much help afterward. Mariners outfielder Victor Robles hit a grounder to short, and second baseman Edwin Arroyo tried to make a play. However, he found umpire Bill Miller in his way, and the ball squeaked into the outfield while also getting past shortstop Elly De La Cruz.

Relief pitcher Caleb Ferguson was not happy, shouting obscenities at the umpire and ripping him for his appearance.

"F—ing fata–! Out of the way motherf—er," Ferguson, who had just allowed the Raleigh grand slam, appeared to yell at Miller.

THREE OF THE WORST-RATED UMPIRES IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON

Seattle then had runners on the corners, but the Reds stopped the bleeding.

Reds manager Terry Francona ordered Ferguson to intentionally walk Dominic Canzone to load the bases and face Raleigh, but the decision totally backfired.

The slumping catcher, who finished in second place in last year's AL Most Valuable Player voting with his 60-homer season, is hitting just .163 this season, but he pounced on the first pitch and turned on a hanging breaking ball, sending it 408 feet into the left-field bleachers to break the game open. It was just his 10th home run of the season.

"I know what Raleigh’s hitting and, he still worries me," the veteran skipper said with a laugh. "But, I thought that was our best chance to have them not score. We could play the infield double-play depth. And, the worst possible outcome happened."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Seattle jumped into the AL West lead with the victory, which also brought them to 51-50 on the season.
‘Misleading voters’: Ossoff warns donors he’s falling behind despite leading Senate fundraising

The Georgia Democrat's campaign has $42.6M cash on hand yet sends urgent emails saying it needs $5 to stay on the air

Sen. Jon Ossoff is warning supporters that his campaign is falling behind and needs more money to keep its ads on the air, despite having one of the largest campaign war chests in the country.

The Georgia Democrat has raised $68.7 million since 2025, slightly more than Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, the next highest fundraiser, who brought in $65.9 million after launching his campaign in September 2025. While securing massive donation hauls, Ossoff’s campaign has simultaneously told prospective donors that it needs money to keep ads running and that it is consistently behind on its fundraising goals.

In July alone, the Ossoff campaign — which the most recent available disclosures show to have $42.6 million in cash on hand — sent multiple emails to supporters claiming that it urgently needs money to keep its advertising push going.

FOX NEWS POLL: AN EARLY LOOK AT THE GEORGIA SENATE RACE

"$5 to keep us on the air," the subject line of a July 2 email reads, according to archive records.

"And the more donations we receive right now, the further we can spread our message to persuade and turn out the voters we need to win big in November," the body of the email reads. "So I need your help — not just to keep this ad on the air, but to spread our message even further. Will you contribute $5 or whatever you can afford to keep our ad on the air and defeat Trump puppet, Mike Collins?"

A campaign spokeswoman told Fox News Digital when asked about the fundraising that Ossoff faces an extraordinary level of Republican spending because he is the only Democratic senator seeking re-election in a state President Donald Trump won in 2024.

"As the only Democratic Senator up for re-election in a state Trump won in 2024, Senator Ossoff is already facing millions of dollars of Republican spending against him, including an initial $44 million from the leading Republican Super PAC and countless more to come from Republican dark money groups empowered by a recent Supreme Court decision that allows them to open the floodgates for unlimited sums of money to prop up candidates, including scandal-ridden Mike Collins," the spokeswoman said.

WATCH: CORY BOOKER UNLEASHES FIERY CALL FOR 'FOOT SOLDIERS' AT MICHIGAN DEM CONFERENCE

Google ad records show that Ossoff is spending millions of dollars on messaging in states besides Georgia — including early presidential primary states such as Iowa and South Carolina as well as swing states like Pennsylvania and Michigan. The behavior, which is abnormal for Democrats in high-profile Senate races, is fueling speculation that Ossoff may launch a run for the presidency in 2028.

In a June 18 email, Ossoff's campaign told supporters that "it’s looking like we’re on pace to miss our fundraising goals for the month." The campaign made similar claims in April and March, according to archived emails.

Despite these lamentations, a short time later, the campaign said it has an "unstoppable grassroots momentum" after its fundraising numbers were publicly released.

"Jon Ossoff is misleading voters as he prepares to ditch Georgia for a shot at the White House," National Republican Senatorial Committee press secretary Bernadette Breslin told Fox News Digital. "But no amount of out-of-state ad spending can erase his failed record — from enabling Joe Biden’s reckless spending agenda to supporting open-border policies that allowed Laken Riley’s killer to roam free."

DEMOCRATS BUILD MIDTERM MOMENTUM, BUT REPUBLICANS STILL IN DRIVER'S SEAT IN SENATE MAJORITY BATTLE

While Ossoff has raised over 10 times more than GOP Senate nominee Rep. Mike Collins has this year, national Republican committees, such as the NRSC, have brought in significantly more cash than their Democratic counterparts.

These national committees have already pledged tens of millions of dollars to defeating Ossoff. Outside groups spent over $170 million against Ossoff and in support of his GOP opponent during the 2020 general and 2021 runoff elections in Georgia, leaving some expecting a similarly expensive race in 2026.

A recent Supreme Court case has also granted political parties greater leeway in coordinating their spending with individual candidates, which has been characterized as a victory for Republicans.

JON OSSOFF SILENT ON SPLC INDICTMENT AFTER TAKING MORE THAN $700K FROM AFFILIATE OF INDICTED GROUP

The fundraising emails reviewed by Fox News Digital for this story appear in the Archive of Political Emails, a project run by the right-of-center Defending Democracy Together Institute.

Screenshots of fundraising texts from the Ossoff campaign have also circulated on social media, attracting criticism from some given the significant financial resources already available to it.

GEORGIA REPUBLICANS HAMMER OSSOFF OVER SILENCE AFTER ICE DETAINER IN ALLEGED CHILD RAPE CASE

"This Ossoff mf texted me two days ago that he had no money," one anonymous X user posted, responding to a screenshot showing the nearly $100 million he has raised since 2021. The user then posted a screenshot of a text message they reportedly received from the Ossoff campaign where it claimed to be behind on its fundraising goals.

"Jon you have a bajillion dollars what are you talking about," the user texted back.

"He was BEGGING too," another user responded, posting a picture of a separate reported fundraising text they received from Ossoff’s campaign.

Beyond emails to supporters, the Ossoff campaign has also publicly complained that it needs more money.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Most polls for Georgia’s Senate election, including those funded by Republicans, show Ossoff leading Collins.

Joe Biden mandated all new vehicles come installed with a 'kill switch.' This Republican wants to repeal it

GOP Lawmaker Scott Perry calls the Biden-era auto mandate a civil liberties violation, introducing a brief bill to roll back required anti-impaired driving technology

Rep. Scott Perry, R-Penn., wants to kill the kill switch.

A bill Perry is seeking to push through Congress would rescind a provision in former President Joe Biden's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that mandates all new cars to come preinstalled with technology that ostensibly monitors whether a driver's blood alcohol levels are above the legal limit and can shut their vehicle off remotely.

"If you don't know what a kill switch is," Perry explained in an interview with Fox News Digital, "it's exactly what it sounds like. It kills your vehicle. The vehicle itself decides whether it appreciates and approves of your driving based on a series of algorithms, computer metrics, etcetera, about how it thinks you should be driving. And if you're not comporting with that, it shuts the vehicle off."

The two-paragraph No Kill Switches In Cars Act, shorter than the law it seeks to repeal, would nix the Biden-era provision that mandates all new cars contain technology which "monitors a driver's performance to identify driver impairment" and which "must also prevent or limit vehicle operation if the system determines the driver may be intoxicated or impaired."

Perry argued the law was an encroachment on the civil liberties of Americans, and that it would violate the Constitution's Fourth Amendment and make vehicles unnecessarily expensive.

DAVID MARCUS: WHY I'LL TAKE MY CLUNKER OVER ANY NEW CAR WITH A GOVERNMENT KILL SWITCH

"Cars are expensive and one of the reasons they're expensive is because we have all these systems on them. I'm a person that uses my mirrors to back up," Perry explained.

"I've never had an accident backing up or parking, but yet, if I buy a new car, I don't have an option whether I get a camera in the car or not. Maybe I want a new car, but I can't afford the camera and the lane assist, and now all these other features that are in the car monitoring me. I'm not allowed to buy that car. My goodness, this is America. We should be able to buy what we want. If you can't afford that stuff or don't want that stuff, it should be your choice.

Perry explained that he was all for efforts to mitigate drunk and impaired driving, even admitting that he's had family members affected by the phenomenon, but explained that the Biden-era provision was "a bridge too far."

TRUMP ADMIN INVESTIGATING 75 TRUCK DRIVER SCHOOLS FOR FRAUD, HELPING NON-CITIZENS GET LICENSES

"We've had impaired driving incidents within my own family. So we're well aware of the consequences, the pain, and the potential bad, catastrophic results of driving impaired. Whether it's drinking or something else, we get that. And that's why I think that we are supportive of other measures and enforcement of those measures, but not trying to seek to punish every single person that drives a car for the sake of the few that abuse that."

Perry imagined a number of scenarios in which a kill switch could improperly result in a driver who wasn't under the influence of alcohol losing access to their vehicle.

"My wife was pregnant at one time, and we did leave to go deliver the baby. And I can just tell you, as a guy that's had a pregnant wife, they're very intensively interested in getting to the hospital in a timely fashion," Perry joked wryly.

"And I just picture somebody that they're trying to, maybe they're trying to get themselves to the hospital, maybe they are the husband, or the father of the child is not around, and they're driving differently than they have been in the past and the car just shuts off. Or another circumstance that I've envisioned where some young lady is leaving a store or some establishment and someone is following her, and she's scared, and she decides, 'Well, I think I'm just going to go to the police station. I've got to find the police station.' So while you're driving, You're trying to look it up. Where is it? And the car decides you're driving erratically and shuts off, that's the worst time for the car to shut off," he said.

"I live in central Pennsylvania, but it's hot in Arizona right now. I've been there. There are long stretches of highway. It's over 100 degrees. Your car decides to shut off, and you're left walking out in 100 degrees, maybe you're impaired, maybe the heat affects you physically. And, you know, there's a million scenarios that haven't been envisioned right now, where Americans' rights are being taken away, and the nanny state is forcing itself upon us."

"The intentions are fine," he continued. "We all want to stop drunk driving. But you don't punish everybody else for the sake of the few that violate the law. We don't do that in the United States of America, but yet we're choosing to do it here."

To Perry, the kill switch law is not simply about mitigating drunk driving, but indicative of a broader encroachment of corporate and biometric surveillance into the civil liberties of Americans everywhere.

DUFFY UNLEASHES ON BUTTIGIEG WITH SWIPE OVER WHICH ADMIN HAS ACCOMPLISHED MORE: 'MOVED LIKE A SLOTH'

"Couple it with all the other things that are happening at the same," Perry said. "Consider artificial intelligence, with facial recognition software, with gait analysis... with central bank digital currency," he continued. "One of the major car companies just applied for patents to monitor while you're driving your pupils, your respiration, your breathing, your heart rate, your conversation... and then the censorship of people online for their opinions. All that is part of the same conversation. I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. And the constitution says that American citizens are not subject to unlawful search and seizure, and I think that this is a pretty good indication that there is unlawful search."

Perry again noted that "nobody is for drunk driving" but argued that mitigation efforts should be focused on enforcing existing laws and cooperating with law enforcement.

"What we should be for is punishing those and dealing with those who choose to drive impaired or unwittingly do it, but you don't punish everybody else for the sake of the few that do. I happen to not drink at all. So why should I… why should anybody have their privacy monitored and interrupted without a warrant, but also be forced to pay for it?" Perry asked.

'SLAP ON THE WRIST': ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER'S SENTENCE IGNITES OUTRAGE AFTER CRASH KILLED 3

Though Biden's bill required the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to codify the law in its vehicle manufacturing regulation code, the agency missed a 2024 deadline, in part due to the logistical challenges of a lack of available monitoring technology.

A spokesperson for the agency told Fox News Digital that NHTSA is currently evaluating public comments on the agency's research into monitoring and into the rule.

The spokesperson noted in particular a line in the agency's 2024 report to Congress which cast doubt on the immediate availability of passive impairment monitoring technology.

"Of the technologies reviewed, most were in an early state of research and development or were not designed for in-vehicle use. Though the two 2024 reports documented some promising technologies, neither report found commercially available technology that detects driver alcohol impairment accurately and passively," the report read.

"Currently, detection technology around the legal limit continues to have an error rate that would be unacceptably high," the report also read.

Though Perry has picked up a growing number of GOP lawmakers to support his bill — 21 lawmakers have joined the original 14 introducing members as co-sponsors — advocacy organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) disagree entirely with the premise of the term "kill switch."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"MADD does not support government surveillance, remote vehicle control or shutdowns, GPS tracking, or the collection, sharing, or sale of personal driving data," the organization told Fox News Digital in a statement.

"The law directs the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to develop a federal vehicle safety standard through an open, transparent rulemaking process that must include public input, rigorous testing and strong privacy safeguards. Once fully implemented, the law will save more than 10,000 lives every year. Americans should not have to choose between protecting individual privacy and preventing drunk driving. We can, and should, accomplish both. In 2024 alone, 11,904 people lost their lives to this entirely preventable crime. We believe Americans deserve every reasonable protection available to stop drunk driving tragedies while protecting privacy and civil liberties. Unnecessary delays based on inaccurate descriptions of what the law actually requires only prolong the devastating toll drunk driving continues to take on families and communities across the country," the statement concluded.

EXCLUSIVE: The delay in allowing the FBI to assist in the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's suspected abduction may have cost crucial video evidence due to the elaborate process involved in recovering Nest doorbell footage from the crime scene when the victim did not have a cloud subscription and her physical camera was missing as well, according to the FBI director.

Guthrie, the mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie, was taken from her Tucson, Arizona, home in the early hours of Feb. 1, according to authorities.

The FBI worked with Google to recover cached video from Guthrie's Nest camera that was not intended for long-term storage and was on the verge of deletion, Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital.

If there was more, it was lost before the FBI became involved, and its evidentiary value remains unknown.

NANCY GUTHRIE SHERIFF SCOLDED COUNTY OFFICIAL FOR SHARING TIP WITH FBI, SHE CLAIMS IN INTERVIEW

"We were looking for the needle of all needles in all haystacks, because since she didn't pay for it, they didn't record that data," he said. "But there was a chance that it was located in their cache just before it was being deleted."

That's where investigators found the video and still images that Patel made public on Feb. 10, in the hope that someone would recognize the suspect and turn him in.

A short time later, FBI experts had generated a rough physical description. The masked suspect is described as between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black Ozark Trail backpack.

NANCY GUTHRIE CASE: FORMER COP SHOWS HOW MISSING MOM COULD VANISH JUST YARDS FROM HOMES

A masked man appeared on Guthrie's Nest camera at least twice — once on the day of her Feb. 1 abduction, and once about three weeks earlier, Fox News Digital has reported previously. Authorities have not publicly ruled out the potential for additional suspects in the case.

There is only a single still image publicly available from the earlier visit. Experts say it's likely that video existed at one point.

If the FBI were involved sooner, agents may have been able to recover additional evidence, which potentially may have included a suspect vehicle, more footage of the masked intruder or even additional imagery from a prior visit to Guthrie's home, Patel said.

NANCY GUTHRIE SHERIFF DEFENDS PACE OF INVESTIGATION MORE THAN 4 MONTHS INTO SEARCH

"What we do know is that the longer you wait, there's no chance of recovering the video," said Morgan Wright, the CEO and founder of the National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases. "The earlier you get started, the better your chances. Waiting four days may have been fatal to the recovery of some video that could have been more illuminating."

FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST TRUE CRIME NEWS

Because Google and the FBI were able to recover at least some video through this process, it's fair to infer that earlier video would have existed as well, Wright told Fox News Digital.

WATCH: Nancy Guthrie's Nest doorbell cam records masked suspect

SEND US A TIP

"If this was recovered from a backend cache, and it was almost deleted, that implies that another video was deleted because they would have been able to recover more than what they did," he said. "Timing is always an issue."

At this point, however, whatever may or may not have existed remains unknown and unavailable to investigators.

"Time is the enemy of all investigations and the thief of vital evidence," Wright said. "You can never go back and get this evidence once it's gone. Time is the most critical factor in any investigation, whether it's finding the suspect, finding the victim, or finding the evidence."

Patel has previously said the FBI was ready to help on day one and explained this week that he wanted to deploy scores of FBI personnel from the outset. However, local authorities didn't request the FBI's assistance for four days.

LISTEN TO THE NEW 'CRIME & JUSTICE WITH DONNA ROTUNNO' PODCAST

By the time the FBI arrived, the crime scene had already been released. People had been allowed to knock on Guthrie's front door, where her blood was on the porch. It was secured once more, and FBI agents spent hours examining the home and the yard, collecting additional home security cameras.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has countered that an FBI task force member was present during the initial stages of the investigation — however that officer is not a federal agent.

The sheriff's department declined to comment for this story.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Anyone with information on Guthrie's kidnapping is asked to dial 1-800-CALL-FBI or 520-88-CRIME to remain anonymous.

The combined sum of rewards in this case is more than $1.2 million.

EXCLUSIVE: ESPN to part ways with Cam Newton as part of talent layoffs that also included Ryan Clark

Newton served as Stephen A. Smith's primary Monday co-host on First Take during the show's highest-rated day.

ESPN is parting ways with Cam Newton, multiple sources told OutKick.

The network will include Newton in a round of layoffs that could be announced as soon as Tuesday. OutKick reported Monday that NFL analyst Ryan Clark would be among the on-air employees let go.

ESPN featured Newton over the past two seasons as a debate partner for Stephen A. Smith on "First Take."

Last season, the network elevated Newton to replace Shannon Sharpe as Smith's primary Monday co-host during football season, the show's highest-rated day of the week.

Sources say ESPN will look for a permanent replacement for Newton on the Monday editions of the show.

Newton and Smith engaged in a public back-and-forth last spring after Newton invited Jason Whitlock, whom Smith has said he "hates with a passion," onto his podcast.

Smith criticized Newton for not defending him when Whitlock cited what he described as fabrications in Smith's 2023 memoir.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

Newton responded that he didn't challenge Whitlock because, in his view, there was "nothing to correct."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

In any event, Smith will be without his two main analysts during the football season in Newton and Clark.

This is a breaking news story.
Ed Harris says he was ready to leave Dutton Ranch after feeling misled about his role

The Yellowstone spinoff star told Variety his character was pitched as one of four leads but that 'wasn't really the case'

Ed Harris didn't hold back when talking about his experience working on "Dutton Ranch."

The "Yellowstone" spinoff from Taylor Sheridan became an instant hit on Paramount+ when season one premiered. It felt like the perfect continuation of the Dutton saga.

Harris stars in the show as veterinarian and war veteran Everett McKinney – a man with a kind heart and violent capabilities.

DUTTON RANCH STAR NATALIE ALYN LIND DROPS BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOS AHEAD OF SEASON FINALE THIS FRIDAY

Everett was one of my favorite characters in season one, but it turns out Harris didn't have a great time filming the show.

Ed Harris shares surprising comments about "Dutton Ranch" experience.

Harris revealed in an interview with Variety that his early experience on the show was so bad that he was ready to say, "Get me the f** out of here."

"Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do and that I was one of the four main characters. And that wasn’t really the case," Harris said in an interview with Variety.

TAYLOR SHERIDAN SHOCKS 'YELLOWSTONE' FANS WITH NEW SPINOFF SERIES, PROVIDES VIEWERS WITH DARK RIDE

He explained that when watching the season that he realized his character was "relatively important to the story but the doing of it did not feel that way."

The popular actor also teased an expanded role in season two with "a little bit more to do."

You can watch his full comments below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

TAYLOR SHERIDAN SAYS HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT CRITICS THINK, ADMITS TO 'RAGE BAITING' THEM ON PURPOSE

Well, in terms of being blunt and honest, good luck finding someone in Hollywood who gives more straightforward comments.

I think it's safe to say Harris was very disappointed with how the situation unfolded behind the scenes. The interesting thing is the fact that Everett definitely feels like a major character.

Top four?

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

Probably not. Key to the story? Absolutely.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Despite my assessment of the situation, it's clear that Harris didn't have that impression while filming the series.

Now, the question is how will things change in season two for Everett's storyline? I hope some big things are on the way. Let me know what you think about Harris' comments at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

CNN legal analyst calls out 'utterly ridiculous' claim by Mamdani about Netanyahu arrest

Elie Honig called the NYC mayor's suggestion 'utterly ridiculous,' noting the ICC warrant has no legal effect in the United States

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig called out New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday for saying he was looking at whether the city's authorities could arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits.

"So, Elie, give us a reality check here. Can Mamdani have Netanyahu arrested?" CNN's Brianna Keilar asked Honig.

"Absolutely not. It is utterly ridiculous for the mayor of New York City to even suggest that he might have the authority to order the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu or any visiting foreign head of state. First of all, the mayor of New York City has zero law enforcement authority. He does not tell the Manhattan D.A., the NYPD, who to arrest, who to indict," Honig responded.

Honig noted that the U.S. was not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC), and therefore the arrest warrant the ICC issued for Netanyahu has no impact here.

MAMDANI’S ‘DERANGED’ ISRAEL TAKE RESURFACES AS HE TARGETS NETANYAHU

"Second of all, this warrant that we're talking about here was issued by the ICC, the International Criminal Court, which we are not signatories to here in the United States. So, that warrant, issued by the ICC, has zero legal effect here in the United States. In fact, we have a federal law here in the U.S., passed 24 years ago, that says, if necessary, the president can send military troops to pull our people and our allies out of the ICC. So, that warrant has zero impact," he said.

Honig added, "The Constitution is quite clear that the conduct of foreign diplomacy, foreign affairs, is entirely up to the federal government. It's certainly not up to local and county governments in New York City or elsewhere."

"So, I know the mayor is having his best lawyers look at this right now. Let me save them some time. You do not have the authority to do this," the CNN legal analyst concluded.

In remarks first reported by The New York Times, Mamdani called Netanyahu a "war criminal" who "belongs in The Hague" and said his administration is in an "active conversation" with the city's Law Department over what legal authority New York City possesses should the Israeli prime minister travel to the Big Apple.

"Whatever the law allows me to do in New York City, that’s what we will do," Mamdani said, adding his administration would not write new laws for that purpose.

NETANYAHU FIRES BACK AT NYC MAYOR MAMDANI'S VOW TO ENFORCE 'BOGUS ARREST WARRANT'

When reached for comment by Fox News Digital, the mayor's office referenced Mamdani's statement from an unrelated press conference on Monday.

"When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, we are talking about someone who's the subject of an international criminal court arrest warrant," Mamdani said. "And he's the subject of the arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity for war crimes, and he's the architect of the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza as Israel's prime minister. These are not facts of my personal assessment; they are facts of public record. And I believe that when someone is charged with an international criminal court warrant, it's something that should be taken seriously, whether it's Benjamin Netanyahu or it's Vladamir Putin or whomever else."

"What I've also made clear is my administration will follow all applicable local laws," Mamdani said. "That is our commitment, that is something we will follow through on when it comes to adherence to local law and that's all I have to add on that."

He continued, "My point is that if someone is charged with a warrant by the international criminal court for these kinds of crimes, that's something that I believe should be honored, and I've also said that we will follow our local laws."

CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW FOX NEWS MEDIA AND CULTURE ON FACEBOOK

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz slammed Mamdani's remarks as "pure political theater," saying the mayor has no legal authority to arrest Netanyahu.

In a post on X, Waltz argued that the U.S. is not party to the ICC's founding treaty, the U.N.
WNBA All-Star charity initiative supports sports group that says it is ‘moving beyond the binary of girl’

Girls in the Game says it welcomes LGBTQ+ youth regardless of gender identity or expression

The WNBA is celebrating its milestone 30th season with a new All-Star initiative that the league says is designed to help keep girls involved in sports.

But one of the Chicago-area organizations selected to benefit from the league’s $100,000 All-Star prize pool says on its own website that it is "moving beyond the binary of ‘girl’" and welcomes "gender-expansive participants regardless of gender identity or expression."

The organization is Girls in the Game, the charity affiliated with "Team Spoon" in the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game.

According to the league’s July 15 release, the WNBA All-Star teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool benefiting two Chicago-area organizations "dedicated to keeping girls involved in sports." The winning team’s organization receives $70,000, while the runner-up’s organization gets $30,000. Team Coop is playing for Angels Athletics, while Team Spoon is supporting Girls in the Game.

MEGAN RAPINOE'S LATEST DEFENSE OF MALES IN WOMEN'S SPORTS COLLAPSES UNDER ITS OWN HYPOCRISY

The WNBA described Girls in the Game as an organization that "partners with schools, parks, and community centers in Chicago to offer sports, health, and leadership programs."

That sounds straightforward enough until you dig deeper into the Girls in the Game website.

OutKick/Fox News Digital reviewed the organization’s website and found language that raises obvious questions about how Girls in the Game defines "girl."

Under the heading "We stand for inclusivity," Girls in the Game says: "Moving beyond the binary of ‘girl’, we welcome LGBTQ+ youth and gender-expansive participants regardless of gender identity or expression."

Wait, what?

Girls in the Game is not a generic youth charity that happens to work with girls. The organization repeatedly frames its mission around girls, girls’ sports and girls-only spaces. So when it says it is "moving beyond the binary of ‘girl,’" people deserve to know what that actually means.

OutKick/Fox News Digital has not been able to confirm whether any biological males have participated in Girls in the Game’s girl-centered sports programming.

According to its 2025 annual report, Girls in the Game served 3,059 participants in FY25. The report says its Chicago After School program alone served 921 participants and girls "play sports, learn about healthy lifestyle choices, and improve their leadership skills in an all-girl setting." The report also says the program provides a "safe, non-competitive environment for girls to learn and be physically active."

The organization’s public-facing program materials do not clearly state whether participation is based on biological sex, gender identity or another eligibility standard.

But Girls in the Game’s own LGBTQ resource pages also point users toward gender-identity-related services. One page lists Howard Brown as a resource that includes "gender-affirming health care" and "trans and non-binary care," along with a support group intended for "BIPOC, trans, non-conforming, questioning individuals" and the Trans Lifeline hotline.

Another Girls in the Game LGBTQ resource page lists "Gender Affirming clothing, makeup, community resources," along with God’s Closet, which it describes as offering "clothes and tailoring for gender-nonconforming/trans people." That page also lists a support group for "BIPOC trans, non-conforming, questioning individuals" and Trans Lifeline.

MARTINA NAVRATILOVA SAYS SHE TRIED TO WARN KAMALA HARRIS' CAMPAIGN ABOUT TRANS ATHLETES: 'NOBODY WOULD LISTEN'

If the WNBA is promoting this as an initiative to keep girls involved in sports, and if one of the beneficiaries says it is moving beyond the binary definition of "girl," then the league and the organization need to explain who is eligible for those programs.

OutKick/Fox News Digital reached out to Girls in the Game and asked whether biological males who "identify" as girls, transgender girls, "nonbinary" or "gender-expansive" are eligible to participate in its girl-centered sports programming.

OutKick/Fox News Digital also asked whether any Girls in the Game programs operate as girls-only spaces, whether those programs are limited based on biological sex or gender identity, whether parents are told before enrollment that the organization is "moving beyond the binary of ‘girl,’" and whether the WNBA All-Star money would be unrestricted or directed toward a specific program.

Girls in the Game did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

OutKick/Fox News Digital also contacted Angels Athletics, the organization affiliated with Team Coop, to ask whether its girls basketball and girls sports programs are limited to biological girls or open based on gender identity. Angels Athletics also did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Then there’s the WNBA.

OutKick/Fox News Digital asked the league whether it was aware of Girls in the Game’s "moving beyond the binary of ‘girl’" language before selecting the organization for the All-Star initiative.

OutKick/Fox News Digital also asked whether the league believes an organization that says it is moving beyond the binary definition of "girl" fits an initiative described as keeping girls involved in sports, whether the WNBA asked Girls in the Game about eligibility for biological males who identify as girls or "gender-expansive" participants, and whether the WNBA supports biological males participating in girls’ youth sports programming if they "identify" as girls.

The WNBA did not respond to OutKick/Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Maybe there’s a simple explanation.

Girls in the Game might argue that its programming is non-competitive or centered on youth development rather than formal leagues. But that wouldn’t answer the important question. The WNBA did not announce a prize-pool initiative to help keep "gender-expansive" youth involved in sports. It said the money would benefit organizations dedicated to keeping girls involved in sports.

Girls in the Game, meanwhile, describes some of its own programming as taking place in an "all-girl setting," while also saying it is "moving beyond the binary of ‘girl’" and welcomes participants regardless of gender identity or expression.

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON RIPS CALIFORNIA TRANS ATHLETE ‘COMPROMISE,’ TELLS NEWSOM TO ‘PICK A SIDE’

Whether the sports are competitive or non-competitive is not the only issue. The issue is that an organization built around girls’ sports spaces is openly advertising that those spaces are not necessarily just for girls.

As for the WNBA, maybe the league will say it selected the organization for its broader youth-development work and never asked about eligibility because the money is not tied to competitive girls’ sports.

These are not difficult questions. This whole mess could be cleaned up with a simple email response. Instead, Girls in the Game, Angels Athletics and the WNBA have not provided one.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

The WNBA is using its All-Star Game, one of its biggest events of the season, to promote an initiative framed around "keeping girls involved in sports."

The league wants credit for helping keep girls in sports, a noble endeavor to be sure.

But before the commissioner’s office pats itself on the back too hard, it should probably explain what it means by "girls."

Coffee lovers can take heart: Up to 5 cups a day appears safe for most adults, experts say

New American Heart Association statement says 400 milligrams of caffeine daily appears safe for most healthy adults

Coffee drinkers may not have to feel guilty about reaching for another cup.

A new scientific statement from the American Heart Association says that consuming up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day — the equivalent of about five 8-ounce cups of black coffee — is generally safe for most healthy adults and may even be linked to a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, heart failure and Type 2 diabetes. The findings were published Monday in the journal Circulation.

The review also found that the potential benefits are most consistently seen with plain black coffee rather than beverages loaded with sugar, flavored syrups or heavy cream.

SCIENTISTS USED ELECTRICITY ON COFFEE AND DISCOVERED WHAT MAKES IT TASTE GOOD

"For most healthy adults, up to about 400 milligrams of caffeine a day, which is roughly five cups of black coffee, appears safe," South Carolina-based registered dietitian Lauren Manaker, who was not involved in the research, told Fox News Digital.

"And the latest research links moderate coffee drinking with a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, heart failure and Type 2 diabetes. That's reassuring news for coffee lovers."

Manaker cautioned, however, that what people add to their coffee matters.

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER

"How you take your coffee makes a real difference," she said. "The benefits show up most clearly with plain black coffee. Once you start piling on sugar, flavored syrups and cream, you may be trading away some of the good you were hoping to get."

The American Heart Association also emphasized that coffee should not be lumped together with energy drinks, which often contain much higher doses of caffeine and other stimulants.

Higher amounts of caffeine — particularly from energy drinks and energy shots — have been associated with elevated blood pressure and irregular heart rhythms.

"Coffee and energy drinks are not the same thing, and we shouldn't treat them that way," Manaker said.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE LIFESTYLE NEWS

"Energy drinks and shots can pack three to four times the caffeine of regular coffee, often with added ingredients, and higher doses have been linked to raised blood pressure and irregular heart rhythms. That's the source I'd steer people away from."

The researchers also noted that caffeine doesn't affect everyone equally. Factors including age, medications, genetics and how quickly the body metabolizes caffeine can all influence an individual's tolerance and risk.

TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ

More research is still needed, particularly because much of the existing evidence is based on observational studies.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"There's no one-size-fits-all caffeine limit," Manaker said. "Your age, your medications, your genetics and how quickly your body clears caffeine all shape how you respond. What feels fine for your co-worker might leave you jittery or awake at 2 a.m."

A Florida man was arrested Monday inside an IHOP restaurant in Orlando after police say he stabbed a rideshare driver.

Jovaughn Nathan Matthie allegedly stabbed the driver after the individual "refused to provide a ride without a request through the rideshare app," according to the Orlando Police Department.

Police have not released the driver’s condition. Matthie has been charged with attempted murder.

After the stabbing, Matthie fled to a nearby IHOP in northeastern Orlando, police said.

DHS SEEKS CUSTODY OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER TRUMP DEPORTATION, BIDEN RELEASE

Body camera footage released by the department showed multiple officers surrounding Matthie as he sat and drank a hot beverage.

The restaurant appeared to have been cleared out, as there were no other customers around, according to the footage.

Officers repeatedly told Matthie to get on the ground, lie on his stomach and place his hands behind his back.

FLORIDA EXECUTES 74-YEAR-OLD FOR WIFE'S MURDER, BECOMING OLDEST INMATE PUT TO DEATH IN STATE'S MODERN HISTORY

When Matthie was slow to put his hands behind his back, an officer holding a police dog warned that he would be "dog bit" if he did not comply.

After he was handcuffed, two officers got him to his feet before noticing he had a "long" object in his pocket, according to the video.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Another officer carefully reached inside Matthie's sweatpants and found an item he identified as a knife wrapped in white cloth.

The Orlando Police Department has not released additional details, saying it is withholding certain information to "protect the integrity of the investigation."

Utah hiker killed by lightning just steps from mountain summit during trek with brother

Craig Nelson, 59, collapsed near the top of American Fork Twin Peaks in Utah

A Utah man hiking with his brother was killed last week after a lightning bolt struck him just steps from the summit of the highest peak in Salt Lake County, authorities said.

Craig Nelson, 59, set out Saturday morning with his brother for the summit of the east peak of American Fork Twin Peaks after the pair rode the Snowbird tram partway up the mountain. The brothers had made the hike together several times before, Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said during a news conference on Monday.

Rivera said that around 10:30 a.m. the brothers stopped to eat lunch and noticed the weather was beginning to change. The surviving brother later told investigators they watched the sky and, because they never saw any lightning, decided to keep going.

HIKER WHO SET OUT IN WARM SPRING WEATHER FOUND DEAD AFTER SNOWSTORM IN NEW HAMPSHIRE MOUNTAINS

"As we know in Utah, the weather changes very frequently," Rivera said, later adding that the weather is "very unpredictable."

About an hour later, the brother reached the east peak first and turned around to head back down after noticing the weather had worsened, Rivera said. Nelson continued toward the summit. The brother told investigators that he saw Nelson suddenly collapse about 20 feet away from him and believed he had been struck by lightning.

The brother rushed back toward the Snowbird tram until he regained cellphone service and called 911 shortly after noon.

RESCUERS FREE CLIMBER TRAPPED BENEATH 16,000-POUND BOULDER ON OREGON'S MOUNT HOOD IN COMPLEX OPERATION

A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter quickly located Nelson near the summit, but rescuers had to wait for the storm to move through before they could safely reach him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Snowbird Ski Patrol later helped escort Nelson's brother off the mountain, according to the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team.

American Fork Twin Peaks rises to 11,461 feet and is the highest point in Salt Lake County. Rivera emphasized that mountain weather can change with little warning and urged hikers to check the forecast before heading out. She said hikers should leave exposed ridgelines and summits as soon as storms begin moving in.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

The sheriff's office also urged hikers to move to lower ground, stay away from isolated trees and bodies of water, and, if they cannot reach shelter, crouch low with their feet together until the storm passes.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains open while the Utah medical examiner determines Nelson's official cause of death.

Blue state mocked after 'Sex and the City' actress tapped to recommend top judges

The 'Sex and the City' actress will help evaluate Court of Appeals nominees despite having no legal background

New York State is drawing mockery after the chief judge of its highest court appointed "Sex and the City" actress Cynthia Nixon to a commission that screens and recommends candidates for the state's top judicial posts.

Nixon, who played attorney Miranda Hobbes on the 2000s hit series, will be one of four members of the 12-seat Commission on Judicial Nomination that are required to not be licensed members of the New York State Bar to practice law in the Empire State.

She was appointed Thursday by Chief Judge Rowan Wilson.

"Only in Kathy Hochul’s New York could playing a lawyer on HBO qualify you to pick the judges on our state’s highest court," Rep. Michael Lawler, R-N.Y., told Fox News Digital on Monday.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST ACTRESS CYNTHIA NIXON HANDED POWERFUL ROLE IN HELPING CHOOSE NEW YORK TOP JUDGES

"Selecting far-left activist actress Cynthia Nixon to help select New York’s top judges will not bring ‘Justice In The City,’" remarked the National Review’s John Fund in a tweet.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley added on X that the move is the latest in a pattern wherein the "New York legal system continues to make a parody of itself."

SOCIALISM’S RISE INSIDE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NOW THREATENS THE AMERICAN DREAM

Other online critics mocked the fact Nixon’s character was a lawyer but that she is not one in real life.

One posted an image of "ER" actor Noah Wyle – who played a doctor -- riffing that he could be the next Surgeon General. "I played the part of an astronaut in a school play when I was maybe 10 years old. Should I prepare my resume for NASA?" another wrote.

Saritha Komatireddy, the Republican challenging state Attorney General Letitia James, said that appointing a "celebrity activist with zero legal background to help shape the future of our judiciary sends the wrong message entirely."

SOCIALIST SURGE: MAMDANI FLEXES GROWING POLITICAL MUSCLE AS HE TAKES ON DEM ESTABLISHMENT

"This is part of a broader trend in New York: politics increasingly taking precedence over public safety and common sense," Komatireddy told the New York Post.

Nixon is aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America and unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2018 in a primary against Andrew Cuomo.

She campaigned for former Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2013 and current Mayor Zohran Mamdani in 2025.

At least one Democrat also sounded off against Nixon’s appointment, appearing to blame farther-left members of his party for dispensing with Gov. Kathy Hochul’s original nominee to Rowan’s seat.

"The price New Yorkers will pay for the bigots and haters who took out the immensely qualified Justice LaSalle is that Cynthia Nixon now gets to vet the judiciary. Excelsior!" tweeted Assemb. Kalman Yeger, D-Borough Park, riffing on the state’s "Ever Upward" slogan at the end.

Hochul settled on Wilson after New York State Senate Democrats torpedoed her nomination of fellow Democrat Hector LaSalle to lead the court’s highest bench for appearing too conservative and amid opposition from activist and labor groups.

Republicans will also get their shot at appointing a member to the commission alongside Nixon.

SIGN UP TO GET THE POLITICS NEWSLETTER

State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt, R-Niagara Falls, has been allotted one appointment following a recent retirement vacancy, according to the Albany Times-Union.

Fox News Digital reached out to Nixon via the Commission and the Senate Republicans’ office for comment.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

The top Republican on the New York Senate Judiciary Committee told Fox News Digital that Nixon's pick should "alarm every New Yorker" that political activism appears to be "a requirement for consideration to serve on the bench."

"The appointment of a far-left, non-lawyer, Hollywood actress to the Commission on Judicial Nomination further reinforces the fact that the courts of New York have become entirely partisan," said Sen. Anthony Palumbo of Suffolk.

"We should all be outraged by the abuse of this branch of government that is supposed to be immune from politics."

With Nixon now serving on the commission, she will help evaluate and recommend future Court of Appeals nominees to the governor, a role that could allow progressive critics' objections to LaSalle to continue influencing the state's highest court long after that confirmation fight ended.

Fitness influencer Clavicular says he started taking testosterone at 14, calls natural training 'a waste'

The 'looksmaxxer' told Sean Hannity he began using testosterone and performance-enhancing drugs in middle school

Clavicular revealed on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast that he abandoned natural weightlifting as a teenager in favor of taking testosterone.

On Tuesday's episode, the fitness and looksmaxxing personality – known for his controversial focus on "looksmaxxing" – called traditional training without performance-enhancing drugs a "complete waste of time."

Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, told Hannity that his interest in fitness began in his family's basement gym in Hoboken, New Jersey. After researching workout routines online, he decided that making progress naturally was too slow.

LOW TESTOSTERONE? HEGSETH SPARKS CONVERSATION AS DOCTORS REVEAL WARNING SIGNS EVERY MAN SHOULD KNOW

"I started reading different articles and forum posts about how to properly train as one would being a beginner to the gym, and that's sort of where I came to the conclusion that there's no reason to train naturally," Clavicular said.

"It's a complete waste of my time when I have this mechanism I could utilize, which was testosterone, to make the results in a much more efficient timeline. So why wouldn't I?"

The decision led Clavicular to secretly acquire performance-enhancing drugs at a young age, he shared.

"I used to have to camp out by the mailbox and pretend to be sick from school," he said, adding that he intercepted shipments of testosterone at age 14 to hide them from his parents.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE HEALTH STORIES

Hannity, a father of two, pointed out that many parents would react with anger and concern, prompting Clavicular to admit that his parents disciplined him repeatedly throughout his teenage years.

"Throughout high school, if I would do a f--- up, I would get sent [to my grandmother's]," he said. "Then, after I got expelled from university for peptides and 'roids, that's where I got sent off to."

Clavicular said his academic career came to an abrupt halt after his public social media posts about his steroid use caught up with him.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"Throughout my entire life, I've kind of been documenting everything in a pretty public way," he said.
House Republican calls for yanking student visas of Chinese nationals

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna issued a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is pressing the State Department to yank F-1 and J-1 visas issued to Chinese students.

"I write today to urge the immediate suspension and cancellation of all F-1 and J-1 student visas held by Chinese nationals currently studying at institutions of higher education across the United States, considering recently declassified intelligence detailing the Chinese Communist Party's efforts to interfere in American elections," she wrote in a July 20 letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Fox News Digital reached out to the State Department on Tuesday: "We generally do not comment on congressional correspondence," a department spokesperson noted. "The Trump Administration is protecting our nation and its citizens by upholding the highest standards of national security and public safety through our visa process."

CHINA DISMISSES TRUMP ELECTION INTERFERENCE ACCUSATIONS AS ‘ENTIRELY FABRICATED,’ THREATENS COUNTERMEASURES

President Donald Trump delivered an address to the nation last week in which he said documents "show that over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People’s Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history — resulting in China’s illicit acquisition of 220 million U.S. voter files.

"That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote, and engage in other nefarious activities, which is exactly what was happening," he said.

TRUMP RELEASES DECLASSIFIED ELECTION INTELLIGENCE, SAYS IT REVEALS ‘SHOCKING VULNERABILITIES’

In her letter to Rubio, Luna wrote, "As I stated publicly following the President's address: every single Chinese student visa needs to be canceled immediately.
This is a necessary and proportionate response to a documented state-sponsored effort to undermine the integrity of American elections."

‘SHADOW GOVERNMENT’: TRUMP CLAIMS INTEL COMMUNITY BRAGGED ABOUT HIDING CHINESE MEDDLING

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

"We urge the Department of State to immediately review and revoke all active Chinese national student visas, and to halt the issuance of new visas to Chinese nationals pending a full accounting of the extent of this infiltration and a comprehensive review of vetting procedures at our institutions of higher education," she wrote.

Chicago Cubs fan slaps younger fan for not standing during National Anthem in viral video

The older fan told the younger one to 'stand up' before the Jersey Girls' performance at the Cubs-Twins game.

Who says patriotism is dead in this country?

America's 250th birthday has had plenty of moments where citizens have shown their country some love, but on Sunday afternoon, one patriot got a little too physical.

Before the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins game, as the Jersey Girls were belting out a performance of "The Star Spangled Banner," fans rose to their feet, as is customary during the singing of our national anthem.

50 YEARS AGO TODAY, CUBS OUTFIELDER RICK MONDAY SAVED A BURNING AMERICAN FLAG AT DODGER STADIUM

As nearly everyone in attendance stood up and removed whatever headgear they were wearing, one fan remained seated, which didn't sit well with the man sitting directly behind him who decided to take matters into his own hands.

"Stand up," you can hear the older fan say to the younger one before he leans in and says something inaudible.

Then, he hauls off and smacks the kid right across the back of the head.

PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG GETS INTO UGLY, CURSE-FILLED SCREAMING MATCH WITH FEMALE WHITE SOX FAN

That must have worked, because the younger fan stood at attention for the rest of the performance.

And the older fan, to his credit, could be heard thanking the young man after he stands up (after telling him to "shut up," of course).

Now, look, I don't condone violence, but this is an all-timer of a video.

BLUE-HAIRED WORLD CUP FAN BREAKS SILENCE AFTER HIS EMOTIONAL REACTION GOES VIRAL

It doesn't even look like this is the first time our elder Cubs fan has pulled a move like this, either.

Or, at the very least, he's considered doing it and this is the first time he let his intrusive thoughts win out.

It seemed to be a fairly popular move, judging by the reactions in the comments section.

No one in the stadium seemed to be too opposed to the move either, other than the guy in the aviators who gave a half-hearted shrug and a few words when he saw the smack go down.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

It remains to be seen whether charges will be pressed, and if the kid wanted to he might be able to milk some legal action out of this.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

But for now, it seems like all that will come of this is a hilarious viral moment fitting for America 250.

The smackings will continue until morale improves.

Trump faces Republican rebellion over Daylight Saving Time as Senate bill nears dead end

GOP Sens Tom Cotton, Mike Rounds and James Lankford are among those pushing back on permanent Daylight Saving Time

President Donald Trump wants Congress to pass legislation that would give Americans a break from a twice-yearly nuisance, but the sun will likely set on the push in the Senate, where the issue is deeper than politics.

The House passed its bill, the Sunshine Protection Act, last week to allow states to voluntarily observe Daylight Saving Time year-round, but the legislation is hitting a brick wall in the Senate.

And it’s not the party aisle that’s defining the debate, it’s a horizontal line running through the United States that divides northern states versus southern states.

TIME ENOUGH AT LAST: WHAT'S NEXT AFTER THE HOUSE PASSES BILL TO DO AWAY WITH DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME?

"That is an issue in which there are passionate views on both sides," Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said on whether the Senate would consider the bill.

"So we'll see," he continued. "I mean, the House having acted on it now, we'll see what the interest level is in the Senate. But I know that there are people who are willing to really slow things down over that issue."

Proponents argue that it’s an inconvenience in their states and are hungry for more daylight in the evening, while opponents say that it would force school-aged children to be in the dark for the beginning of the day.

One of the most vocal opponents of the legislation is one of Trump’s own allies on Capitol Hill, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., who last year declared that he would "always oppose" efforts for permanent Daylight Saving Time.

HOUSE PASSES DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME REFORM AS TRUMP SIGNALS SUPPORT FOR ENDING CLOCK CHANGE

A source in Cotton’s orbit told Fox News Digital that the lawmaker was "far from the only one who objects" to the bill, and noted that the legislation is more of a grandfather clause that requires states to have already passed an observance of permanent standard time before the Sunshine Protection Act becomes law.

Hawaii and Arizona are the only two states that, by their own laws, observe permanent standard time, while no states observe a permanent Daylight Saving Time. It’s not the only time Congress has tried, either.

"Congress has already tried changing to permanent Daylight Saving Time before," the source said. "It was so thoroughly hated that Congress reversed course the following year — but almost no one knows that."

In the 1970s, lawmakers did enact a year-round Daylight Saving Time. But Americans rapidly soured on the change, especially parents whose children had to wait in the dark for the school bus. It was repealed about a year later.

GOP CIVIL WAR ERUPTS OVER TRUMP'S LATEST AGENDA PUSH AS KEY REPUBLICANS THREATEN TO SINK MEGABILL

"I can't support a motion to go to Daylight Saving Time, because it means that the kids in South Dakota ended up going to school in the dark for about the first hour of classes for more than six months out of a year," Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., said. "So we can't do that."

Proponents argue, however, that it’s a long-needed change.

Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., who originally introduced the Sunshine Protection Act alongside then-Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., a decade ago, contended the push was "not a partisan issue, it’s a preference issue" that often fell along geographic lines.

Still, he acknowledged resistance from parents concerned about their kids going to school in the dark.

"This is left over from World War I when America was trying to save lamp oil. We're doing OK on lamp oil now, so that's not the issue on it," Lankford said. "With streetlights, with different power and things, we have — we're in a very different situation. And I talk to a lot of folks that say they are just sick of the time change. They want to be able to lock the clock."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

And Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., who introduced the legislation last year, cheered the House passing the bill.

"It's one of the most popular things in my state," Scott said. "You wouldn't believe how much I get asked about this."

Still, he acknowledged the resistance coming from the North. He argued that he couldn’t understand how "anybody could vote against it when the state could make their own decision."

"Give me the chance — I mean, look, in my state, the ability, we want to do it," Scott said.

‘Finish the damn job’: Hagerty tells 'Ruthless Podcast' that Trump will complete Iran mission

The former US ambassador to Japan joins the program

Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., said that President Donald Trump is on track to complete his military objectives in the war against Iran, during an interview with the "Ruthless Podcast."

The former U.S. ambassador to Japan during Trump’s first term compared the current situation in the Middle East to President Harry Truman’s firing of Gen. Douglas MacArthur during the Korean War.

"I think about Douglas MacArthur in Japan," the senator said in an exclusive "Ruthless" interview released Tuesday morning.

"I was fortunate to live in the same residence he occupied for six years when he was stationed there. He executed the Korean War after the rebuilding of Japan. I often wonder what would have happened if Truman had not fired him, if MacArthur had been allowed to finish the damn job," he added. "We wouldn't be dealing with a lot of the stuff that we're dealing with out there right now. And President Trump is going to finish that damn job."

PALANTIR CTO SAYS TECH INNOVATORS ARE BUILDING FOR AMERICA IN SHIFT SINCE TRUMP RETURNED TO WHITE HOUSE

Hagerty cited divine providence in saving Trump’s life as a guiding force to the administration’s approach to the current war.

"You just brought me back to the Sunday morning after President Trump was shot in Butler, [Pennsylvania]," Hagerty said. "I was on the phone with him for about 20 minutes. I told him, 'You can be the most consequential president we've ever had,' and I think he's taken on that mantle; he realizes, but for the grace of God he wouldn't be here, and he's taking on the tough problems. He's not backing away from anything."

"Ruthless" co-host Josh Holmes shared Hagerty’s concerns about Iran gaining a nuclear weapon.

"I think what I am most gratified by President Trump's decision to do it is he's the first president who decided ‘I'm not gonna leave this to another administration,’" Holmes said. "It's going to get worse. It's going to keep getting worse. You get October 7, you get the full funding of Hamas and Hezbollah.
Dem ‘Epstein class’ attack backfires as top candidates funded by Epstein-tied billionaire

Reid Hoffman, a former Epstein associate, donated $11.5 million to a Talarico-aligned political group

Democratic Senate candidates James Talarico and Jon Ossoff are facing scrutiny over significant donations from Reid Hoffman, a billionaire mega-investor with former associations to Jeffrey Epstein, after both accused Republicans of representing the billionaire "Epstein class" over working Americans.

Both Talarico, running in Texas, and Ossoff, running in Georgia, have repeatedly criticized billionaires’ involvement in politics and charged Republicans with being beholden to the "Epstein class" instead of the American people.

Meanwhile, Hoffman, a co-founder of LinkedIn who has previously admitted to spending a night on Epstein’s Caribbean island, has heavily invested in both campaigns. In the Texas Senate race, Hoffman has donated a whopping $11.5 million to the Talarico-aligned super political action committee (PAC), Lone Star Rising, according to the Texas Tribune. The outlet said the billionaire investor sunk $10 million to the PAC in June alone, accounting for nearly 80% of the group’s second-quarter fundraising. In Georgia, Hoffman donated the maximum legal amount, $7,000, to Ossoff’s campaign for the 2025-2026 cycle.

"Democrats like Jon Ossoff and James Talarico vilify corporate billionaires in one breath and accept their cash in the next," a GOP operative remarked to Fox News Digital, adding, "They’re fueling the same ‘money in politics’ gravy train they claim to oppose."

TALARICO TOUTS TEXAS ROOTS AS OUT-OF-STATE CASH POWERS SENATE CAMPAIGN

Hoffman has not been charged with any wrongdoing related to his previous association with Epstein.

Their first known meeting was on July 19, 2013, almost five years after Epstein pled guilty in Florida to state charges of soliciting prostitution and procuring a minor for prostitution. According to Massachusetts Institute of Technology records, Hoffman, then a member of the university’s Media Lab Advisory Council, met with Epstein along with other faculty members on campus.

The next year, Hoffman visited Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James, and stayed overnight, the Wall Street Journal reported. Business Insider reported that in a recent podcast appearance, Hoffman admitted to staying one night at Epstein’s island as part of an MIT fundraising trip. Regarding his visit, he quipped, "Note to self: Google before going."

The Wall Street Journal reported that later in 2014, Hoffman sent Epstein ice cream, writing that it was for him or "for the girls."

'SHE SAW DOLLAR SIGNS': FORMER OBAMA COUNSEL PRESSED OVER YEARS-LONG EPSTEIN TIES

The two continued to maintain contact in the years that followed, with Hoffman and Epstein exchanging emails and Skype calls, according to the Wall Street Journal. Axios reported in 2019 that Hoffman hosted a dinner in 2015 at which Epstein was present along with other notable technology leaders, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Peter Thiel.

The outlet reported that Hoffman apologized for his association with Epstein, saying that "by agreeing to participate in any fundraising activity where Epstein was present, I helped to repair his reputation and perpetuate injustice. For this, I am deeply regretful."

Meanwhile, Talarico has repeatedly criticized Republicans by using the "Epstein class" line. In one interview, he asserted, "The Epstein Class has no place in Texas."

On the campaign trail, Forbes reported Talarico charging that "the only minority destroying America is the billionaires." His campaign website asserts that "billionaire mega-donors aren't just buying yachts and jets — they're buying power, and they're using that power to rig our political system."

Fox News Digital reached out to Lone Star Rising, which has spent millions on pro-Talarico advertising, for comment on Hoffman’s $11.5 million in donations.

JT Ennis, a spokesperson for Talarico’s campaign, remarked to Fox News Digital that "our campaign has no control over contributions to any super PAC," adding, "federal law prohibits coordination between political campaigns and outside entities."

Ennis said that "anyone contributing to this movement is supporting a campaign that will tax billionaires more and limit their outsized political influence."

Meanwhile, he ripped into Talarico’s Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, saying, "The only way to get Big Money out of our politics is to reject politicians like Ken Paxton," who he accused of "want[ing] corporations and billionaires to decide our elections, not Texans."

TALARICO SAYS THE DIVIDE IS 'TOP VS. BOTTOM' — THEN HEADS TO ONE OF AMERICA'S RICHEST DONOR ENCLAVES

"While Ken Paxton works to enrich himself and his donors, James will remain the only candidate in this race fighting to ban super PACs, ban corporate PACs, ban congressional stock trading, and tax billionaires so we can fix this broken, corrupt political system," said Ennis.

Fox News Digital reached out to Paxton’s campaign for comment.

Fox News Digital also reached out to the campaign for Ossoff, who criticized the Trump administration in a news statement earlier this year for having the "wealthiest Cabinet ever."

SIGN UP TO GET THE POLITICS NEWSLETTER

Ossoff remarked in the statement, "We were told that MAGA was for working-class Americans. But this is a government of, by, and for the ultra-rich... this is the Epstein class, ruling our country. They are the elites they pretend to hate."

On the campaign trail, Ossoff has railed against American politics for "running on secret money, corporate money, billionaire money" and accused the Trump administration of taking "American corruption to spectacular new heights."

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Besides Talarico and Ossoff, Hoffman is also known to have donated the maximum legal amount, $7,000, to the re-election campaign for Sen. Cory Booker, a prominent national Democrat from New Jersey.

Fox News Digital reached out to Booker for comment.

Cuba built covert network inside America through spies, activists and universities, State Dept alleges

Marco Rubio says a 100-page report reveals Cuba's decades-long campaign of subversion against the United States

Cuba spent decades waging a covert campaign to infiltrate the United States through espionage and ideological influence, according to a new State Department report that calls Havana the "capital of 21st century communism."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the report is intended to expose what he described as Havana's decades-long campaign against the United States.

"For more than six decades, the Cuban regime has been the leading sponsor of radical leftism and Third Worldism in the United States," Rubio wrote on X. "The State Department is exposing the full history of Cuban espionage and subversion in our country. The American people deserve to know."

TRUMP EXPANDS CUBA SANCTIONS BEYOND US COMPANIES IN MAJOR CRACKDOWN ON FOREIGN ENABLERS

Cuba's foreign minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, dismissed the report as political propaganda.

In a statement posted on X, Rodríguez called it the State Department's "latest fallacy" about Cuba and accused the Trump administration of manufacturing a pretext to continue what he described as Washington's "cruel and criminal economic war" against the island. Without naming Rubio, he accused "that U.S. politician from South Florida" of concocting a "macabre plan" that advances only the interests "of those who have always paid him."

The 100-page report argues that Cuba's campaign reached far beyond traditional espionage. It alleges that Havana cultivated American activists, recruited spies, supported revolutionary movements and built relationships with universities and advocacy groups as part of a long-term effort to undermine U.S. interests and spread communist ideology.

"For nearly seven decades, the Cuban regime has waged a sustained campaign of subversion against the United States," the report says. It alleges Cuban intelligence infiltrated "the top levels of the State Department, the National Security Council, and the Pentagon," while also helping shape generations of left-wing political movements.

INSIDE CUBA’S FOREIGN INFLUENCE CAMPAIGN: FROM THE '60S VENCEREMOS BRIGADE TO A CALIFORNIA UNION HALL

The report further alleges that Havana spent decades cultivating ties to American revolutionary and activist groups, including the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, the Black Liberation Army and Puerto Rican militant organizations. The report claims that this network later expanded to include connections with Antifa, anti-ICE organizations, socialist groups and left-wing nonprofits.

The report argues that Cuba's greatest success came not through military force but through influence. It says the communist government built an international network of activists, academics, nonprofits and political organizations that continued spreading its revolutionary ideology long after the Soviet Union collapsed.

The report points to several high-profile espionage cases, including convicted spies Victor Manuel Rocha, Ana Belén Montes, Walter Kendall Myers and members of the Wasp Network.

ALLEGED CUBAN INFLUENCE OPERATIVE, FAMILY IN FEDERAL CUSTODY AFTER RUBIO REVOKES LEGAL STATUS

It also cites former CIA counterintelligence chief James Olson, who called Cuba's intelligence service "probably the most aggravating intelligence service I've ever worked against," and warned, "The Cubans have penetrated our government… We only know the tip of the iceberg."

The report also claims Cuba viewed American colleges and universities as recruiting grounds, identifying politically sympathetic students who could later move into influential jobs in government or the private sector. It suggests the partnerships between the University of Havana and dozens of U.S. universities are examples of what it describes as long-term influence efforts.

It also revisits Cuba's ties to revolutionary movements across Latin America and says Havana provided sanctuary to American fugitives tied to militant groups. The report names organizations including the Venceremos Brigade, ICAP, the National Network on Cuba, the Democratic Socialists of America, Code Pink and the National Lawyers Guild, arguing they helped maintain pro-Cuba activism in the United States for decades.

The report concludes that Cuba evolved from a Soviet ally into what it calls "the ideological capital of the modern radical left," arguing the regime increasingly relied on espionage, political organizing and influence campaigns instead of conventional military power.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Cuban Embassy in the U.S. for further comment but did not immediately hear back.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Earlier this month, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz appeared on Fox News to warn that Cuba remains a national security threat and accused China and Russia of collecting information around U.S. military bases in Cuba.

"The Cuban regime is not only a threat to its own people, it's a national security threat, and this administration is not going to stand for it any longer," Waltz said.

Viral Masters Girl Aaliyah Kikumoto joining the squad adds star power as the Dolphins chase the Cowboys' content crown

We get the day rolling around here at OutKick with a fresh, new edition of Tuesday Screencaps with Ryan Clark's ESPN career coming to a close, storms overhead and the Dolphins cheerleaders getting dialed in early for the 2026 season.

Let's start with Clark's departure, as reported by the OutKick Big Js who came together for one of the most explosive reports of the year. If you go back to when we started the OutKick Woke All-Star Challenge like six years ago, it was at the height of the post-George Floyd era when lunatic LIB hot take artists faced zero pushback over where they were taking this country.

In 2022, OutKick's Bobby Burack reported on Screamin' A. Smith, Clark and how ESPN allowed those two to dictate editorial direction post-Floyd.

ESPN PARTING WAYS WITH NFL ANALYST RYAN CLARK AHEAD OF NETWORK'S FIRST SUPER BOWL BROADCAST

Based on what happened Monday, it appears ESPN's pivoting (not all the way) out of that post-Floyd era when our Woke All-Star Challenges were loaded with ESPN talent. Will we notice a new direction with ESPN shows? Time will tell. Something tells me Clark will be replaced with younger, cheaper talent that will keep the wokes happy.

Moving along, I want to address the offseason turned in by the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders. Normally, NFL cheerleader groups are rather quiet during the summer. There might be content from tryouts and the requisite 'Happy Birthday' posts, but this summer, the Dolphins cheerleaders made a bold statement during the World Cup.

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders officially have competition on the content front which is hard to even fathom. But there were the Dolphins cheerleaders at multiple World Cup games, including the bronze medal game, keeping the fans fired up.

Add in the news that the team chose viral Masters Girl to the squad and you have the makings of a team to watch this NFL season. Who is Masters Girl? That would be Aaliyah Kikumoto, whose father, Charles, is a BIG OutKick fan. Charles even flew in two summers ago to win the 2-Club Challenge golf outing that I used to throw.

This is how you raise the team profile to compete with the Cowboys. Own Page Six. Get the squad into Screencaps/Nightcaps. Now we have ourselves a real battle.

📩 Email: joe.kinsey@outkick.com Send photos, stories, tips, rants—whatever you've got.

KRISTIN CAVALLARI LETS LOOSE DURING A DOMINANT MIAMI SWIM WEEK, ESPN'S VULGAR HOT MIC & 'BAMA BEER WALL!

📰 Screencaps Page: 👉 Read the latest Screencaps

▶️ YouTube: Screencaps with Joe Kinsey Subscribe for videos, rants, and behind-the-scenes.

🐦 Twitter/X: @JoeKinseyexp Tag me or drop a DM.

📸 Instagram: @OutKickScreencaps You guys need to start tagging me on content you're seeing.

📘 Facebook Page: Screencaps on Facebook

👥 Facebook Group: Join the Screencaps Community

📬 Mail (Thursday Night Mowing League): 27072 Carronade Dr, Unit A 155 Perrysburg, OH 43551

🗞️ Newsletter: 👉 Subscribe here

Eli Drinkwitz gets me. We're on the same wavelength. I enjoy pickleball, but, the first thing that went through my mind was the stress on my knees and how I'd be way better off playing doubles. Is it time for football coaches to ban their players from pickleball?

Are you a coach who has banned your athletes from the sport? Let me know: joe.kinsey@outkick.com

• John H. says: One can confidently predict increased vehicle prevalence in a given geography via identification of contributing factors. Let me explain. In the Midwest, there is a higher prevalence of large trucks due to the widespread farming industry that requires expanded space for transport. Conversely, in urban settings such as New York City, there is a higher prevalence of small cars due to the limited space for parking and travel. And then there is Miami, a space-limited urban environment which has a high prevalence of large trucks due to the high prevalence of small men.

– Chris B. keeps it simple: In Florida on I-75: "Speed Limit 70"

Kinsey: Well played.

– Kevin in Gibsonia has one: Interstate 90 in New York about 20 mile past the PA border..."Correctional facility ahead, Don't pick up hitchhikers."

– Drew in Katy, TX was all over this: My wife and I moved to South Louisiana in 1990 and thoroughly enjoyed living there for 9 years. We loved the people. The food is fabulous. The fishing is fantastic, etc. But the day that we drove from Houston to move to New Orleans on I-10, I saw this sign just as we crossed the Sabine River bridge into Louisiana. The yellow caution sign read "SUBSTANDARD ROAD AHEAD". I had no idea that it applied to every road and street in the state.

– Brad S. gives us a report: We had a party for my son and 16 of his 14-15 year old friends yesterday. We did pizza and hot dogs when the bulk of the pool party folks were there. No issues, except for a few kids constantly f-bombing. We let them know that wasn't welcome. The other kids started 'policing' the foul-mouthed kids, so it stopped.

When the party started to wind down, the six kids sleeping over were hungry. It was 10:45 and choices were limited - and they had cleaned us out of our food. Taco Bell was their choice! I insisted NO LETTUCE!

Two kids grabbed everyone's screenshots and we headed over. We got there before they closed the lobby and the two went in and used the kiosk to order. I gave them my card to pay and an alert came across my phone minutes later for a $120 charge... at Taco Bell!

If I had sent $120 worth of Taco Bell to Ethiopia in the mid 80s, there wouldn't have been the need for a Live Aid concert! I started to wonder if I would have enough room in my SUV to fit all of it! 25 minutes later they came out with four huge bags. I'm grateful to my plumber that my plumbing is in great shape! I hope.

UPDATE:

At 2AM, I had to stop them from going outside to play hacky-sak (still a thing?) I eventually got them quieted down. Mrs. S and daughter are finally sleeping. But the teenage animals are still seeking food.

4AM. They've literally eaten everything: Pasta salad, fruit, frozen chicken nuggets from the freezer, lunch meat... it's all gone. I've long transitioned from finishing work stuff to watching Tom Snyder interviewing Glen Campbell on YouTube, etc. I'm an older dad, but I'm getting too old for this sh*t.

I never thought I'd say this, but I miss the Chuck E Cheeze days.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

SIGN UP TO GET THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS

Talk about an end of an era, Ravech has worked for ESPN since 1993.
Trump's backyard is becoming America's biggest magnet for taxpayer wealth

The president's hometown gained millions in adjusted gross income from interstate movers, the largest of any US county

One red county is emerging as America's biggest winner in the race for people and prosperity, attracting more wealth from migrating taxpayers than any other county in the nation.

The latest IRS migration data show President Donald Trump's hometown of Palm Beach County, Florida, attracted more than $3 billion in taxable income from households moving in from other states, the largest gain of any county in the nation.

Already one of the nation's wealthiest areas, Palm Beach is also home to Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, which has been dubbed the Southern White House. The sunny Florida enclave has become an increasingly high-profile destination for political donors, business leaders and affluent residents, alongside Florida's broader influx of high-income households.

THE RED STATES RACING AHEAD IN AMERICA’S POWERFUL WEALTH BOOM — AND THE STATES FALLING BEHIND

The latest IRS figures suggest that trend continues to favor lower-tax, fast-growing Sun Belt states over many of the nation's largest coastal counties.

The findings offer one of the clearest snapshots yet of where Americans, and their money, are moving. That's important because the migration of higher-income households can have an outsized economic impact. They contribute more than just new neighbors, bringing paychecks, investments, businesses and spending power that can strengthen local economies while leaving behind smaller tax bases in the places they leave.

The migration wasn't limited to Palm Beach.

Neighboring Collier County recorded the nation's second-largest net gain in adjusted gross income at roughly $2.25 billion, with nearly all of that growth also driven by newcomers from outside Florida. Adjusted gross income (AGI) measures the taxable income reported on federal tax returns, making it one of the clearest indicators of how much earning power is moving from one place to another.

Because higher-income households pay a disproportionate share of federal income taxes, changes in adjusted gross income can have an outsized effect on local tax bases, consumer spending and economic growth.

BILLIONS IN TAXPAYER INCOME ARE LEAVING TWO ICONIC STATES — AS A NEW ECONOMIC MAP EMERGES

Meanwhile, some of the nation's largest metropolitan counties continued to lose both taxpayers and wealth through interstate migration.

Los Angeles County, home to Hollywood and one of the nation's largest economic engines, recorded the nation's largest net loss of tax filers, shedding 17,496 returns. Those departing taxpayers took nearly $1.9 billion in adjusted gross income with them as they relocated to other states.

Other major counties in California and New York also recorded significant taxpayer losses. Queens County, New York, lost 17,109 tax filers, followed by the Bronx (-16,319), Orange County, California (-11,618) and Suffolk County, New York (-10,434), highlighting the continued outflow from some of the nation's largest coastal population centers.

One county, however, stood out for a different reason.

Manhattan recorded the nation's largest net gain in interstate tax filers while simultaneously losing about $922 million in adjusted gross income, suggesting many of the households arriving earned less than the higher-income taxpayers who departed.

AMERICA'S TOP DESTINATION FOR NEW TAXPAYERS IS QUIETLY GETTING POORER, IRS DATA REVEALS

The contrast underscores that population growth and wealth growth are not always the same thing.

While Manhattan added more new tax filers than any other county, Palm Beach and Collier captured billions more in taxable income, illustrating how the migration of affluent households can reshape local economies even when fewer people move.

Trump officially moved his main residence from his longtime home of Manhattan to his estate in Palm Beach in 2019, while he was serving his first term in office. At the time of the move, he slammed New York City's liberal policies and claimed he was "treated very badly" by political leaders in the state despite paying millions in taxes.

In the years after his move, many of Trump's wealthy inner circle also relocated to Palm Beach and some surrounding Florida counties. The Sunshine State has no state income tax and levies neither estate nor inheritance taxes, while New York’s top state income tax rate exceeds 10%.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Taken together, the IRS figures suggest America's economic center of gravity continues to shift south.

As billions of dollars in taxable income flow toward Florida, Texas and other Sun Belt states, many of the nation's traditional coastal economic powerhouses are losing not just residents — but some of their highest-earning taxpayers.
