Brooke Shields found her "highlight of the summer" on an adventure-filled getaway to Croatia.

The 61-year-old actress and model shared highlights from a trip with friends, including Chelsea Handler, that took her from the streets of Croatia to waterfalls and the open water.

Shields kicked off the Instagram carousel with a striking photo of herself sitting beside a rushing waterfall in a black strapless one-piece swimsuit.

Soaked from the rushing water, Shields sat back on a moss-covered rock with her legs stretched out in front of her, closing her eyes and lifting her face toward the sun. Her dark hair was slicked back as she finished the strapless black swimsuit look with a gold chain necklace and bracelets.

"Highlight of the summer: the most amazing trip to Croatia with the best people 🇭🇷😍🏝️," Shields captioned the Instagram post.

The longtime friends appeared to make the most of their time together throughout the trip.

Shields and Handler have been friends for years, with the two previously appearing on each other's podcasts and speaking candidly about their lives and relationships.

Away from the water, Shields traded her swimsuit for a bright yellow dress while exploring Croatia with Handler.

The "Pretty Baby" star paired the loose-fitting dress with a wide-brimmed straw hat, layered necklaces and a brown belt. Handler stood beside her in a white button-down shirt, patterned skirt, navy baseball cap and dark sunglasses as the two smiled for the camera on a busy street.

Shields wasn't afraid to get adventurous during the getaway either.

In a video included in the carousel, she jumped from the edge of a rushing waterfall into the water below while wearing her black one-piece.

The carefree vacation comes months after Shields reflected on the work she has done to remain grounded after spending virtually her entire life in the public eye.

During a July 2026 conversation with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah Daily, Shields spoke about navigating fame since beginning her modeling career as a baby.

"You either become a victim to it and you resent it and then you get angry and you get bitter," Shields said, "or you say, ‘Okay, how can I not be devoured by this? How can I surround myself with people who are grounded?’"

Shields said maintaining that sense of normalcy became particularly important when she became a mother to daughters Rowan and Grier with husband Chris Henchy.

"How can I stay as grounded as possible to be the kind of mom for my daughters that it would very easily be derailed in this industry," she told Winfrey.

Shields' own relationship with her mother, Teri, was far more complicated. Teri raised Shields as a single mother and managed her career from childhood, with Shields telling Winfrey the two became so intertwined that there was little room for her to develop an independent identity.

"There was so much love, but then you couple that with the industry that we were in," Shields said. "She protected me fiercely."

The actress also reflected on how years of therapy have helped her distinguish her own voice from the influence of her late mother and longtime manager, Teri Shields.

"Luckily, I hear — I’ve worked so hard on myself — to hear my own voice in my head first," Shields said. "And that’s years of working on it and therapy and thinking about it and talking about it and making myself sort of freer from this."

DHS boss reveals Oval Office plan to 'withhold funding' from sanctuary cities after aggressive New York bust

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Tuesday the White House is exploring legal ways to withhold federal funding from sanctuary states and cities that refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement.

Speaking on "The Ingraham Angle," Mullin highlighted the arrests of more than 2,100 illegal immigrants in New York and said Immigration and Customs Enforcement will continue deportations despite local sanctuary restrictions.

"Literally 20 minutes ago, I was sitting in the Oval Office of the president, and we were having this conversation about how do we withhold funding legally from these sanctuary cities," Mullin told host Laura Ingraham.

"Why are we allowing these sanctuary cities to still get funding from the federal government when it comes to, let's say, their airport, when we're processing immigration through these international airports? DHS has launched several deportation operations since President Donald Trump began his second term, most recently in New York with an operation dubbed Rotten Apple. Mullin said the operation resulted in more than 2,100 arrests, including people accused of murder, rape, child sexual abuse and drug trafficking.

The DHS secretary told Fox News Trump and administration officials are looking at ways to withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

"President Trump is looking for ways. He had other people that were in the Oval Office with me talking about how can we hold federal funding from these sanctuary cities that are refusing to just simply do one thing: uphold the law of the land," Mullin said, adding that he and immigration agents "don’t pick and choose which laws to enforce."

According to DHS, one of the illegal immigrants arrested during the New York operation was a Ukrainian national with convictions for kidnapping, abduction resulting in death, criminal possession of a weapon and murder. DHS said another suspect from Colombia had previously been arrested for "course of sexual conduct against a child" and acting "in a manner to injure a child less than 17."

George Kittle, Nick Bosa make the flight as 49ers head to Australia for historic opener: reports

The San Francisco 49ers are on their way to Australia to participate in the first-ever NFL game on the continent against their NFC West foe, the Los Angeles Rams, to kick off the 2026 season.

And two specific passengers have fans hopeful heading into next week’s matchup down under.

Tight end George Kittle and defensive end Nick Bosa, two very important pieces of Kyle Shanahan’s roster, made the trip with the rest of the team, according to multiple reports.

This is encouraging considering both have been dealing with their own recovery from injury.

Kittle suffered a torn Achilles in the Wild Card Round against the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 11, while Bosa tore his ACL in Week 3 last season. Bosa, specifically, has been battling tendinitis for most of the 49ers’ training camp.

But with Kittle and Bosa heading out to Australia, it could mean that reinforcements are on the way to start the regular season.

"I would assume so," Kittle said last month when asked if traveling to Australia would indicate whether or not he’s playing in the game. "I mean, that probably makes the most sense. I would assume."

After practicing on Wednesday, the 49ers took flight to Australia, where they’re expected to land on Friday due to the 17-hour time difference. It’s that time difference that the 49ers are making sure players get accustomed to it before they take on the Rams on Sept. 10 at 8:35 p.m. ET.

For both teams, it will actually be Friday morning at 10:35 a.m. That’s when kickoff will take place at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In the days leading up to it, the availability of Kittle, Bosa and the rest of the 49ers should become clear as they hold practices and gear up for a team many believe are Super Bowl favorites this season. Police officers among 'multiple victims' shot in downtown Minneapolis

Two police officers were shot Wednesday after gunfire rang out in downtown Minneapolis, officials said.

Minneapolis police officers were at the scene of the shooting, which involved "multiple victims," the city said, including the two law enforcement officers. The officers were shot in the shin and abdomen, sources told Fox News.

Their conditions were unclear.

The suspected shooter was down, sources said.

The shooting triggered a large police presence.

"My public safety team is responding to a shooting that took place downtown Minneapolis this afternoon," Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz wrote on X. "State officials are on the ground to support local law enforcement and we will share more information as it becomes available."

In a subsequent post, Walz thanked law enforcement for "working to ensure the safety of our neighbors" in the area.

"Minnesota is praying for our first responders," he wrote.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in nearby St. Paul were responding to the scene.

Rogan shreds supporters of Lindsay Clancy, says they wouldn't rally if a father were on trial for same crime

Podcaster Joe Rogan scorched the supporters of Lindsay Clancy, who is on trial for murdering her three children, on the "Joe Rogan Experience" Tuesday.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse from Duxbury, Massachusetts, is on trial for killing her three young children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — at the family's home Jan. 24, 2023.

She faces three counts of first-degree murder. Clancy does not dispute that she killed her children but argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and is not criminally responsible.

One of the most salient aspects of the trial is how many women have rallied on social media and formed groups to gather and share support for Clancy or suggest conspiracy theories about her case.

Rogan responded, "This lady killed her kids and everyone's like, ‘Oh my God, she needed help.’ Imagine if a single father killed his kids. Do you think there'd be any dads out there? ‘We get it. We understand. I also get sad!’"

He also blasted Clancy’s supporters, saying, "If those ladies could see the crime scene and see those dead kids with their f---ing vacant eyes staring up because their mother took their life, the last f---ing thing that they saw was their mother standing over them, choking them to death, I don't think they would feel so bad."

Rogan lamented the state of modern politics and the world in general, saying this controversy and the social media phenomenon around it is yet another news story that is absurd beyond belief.

"People are out of their f---ing mind right now. She's out of her f---ing mind. The world is out of its f---ing mind. It's like more of these things come up where you're like, ‘This can't be real. This can't be real.’ And it is real," he said.

"More of these things where, like, people are showing up in support of a woman who killed her children. I don't care how rough it was. The ability to kill your children is crazy."

Rogan contrasted this sentiment from Clancy's supporters to the common understanding that parents would do anything to protect their children from harm.

Later on in the podcast, Rogan argued there is a growing radicalization of people, particularly among childless liberal women, that cannot be ignored.

"I don't want to generalize, but it seems like it's Republicans too, but it's a lot of liberal women," Rogan said. "Liberal women with no children want to turn the world into their children. They want to, like, scold the world like they're doing the wrong thing, and they're worried about the environment.

"And they're worried about the future. And they're worried about voting. And they're worried about rights. And they're worried about immigrants. They're worried about this, and they're worried about that. They're taking care of the world like it's the child that they don't have."

Fox News Digital spoke to various experts about Rogan’s comments.

Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring, a board-certified psychiatrist and CEO and medical director of TaperClinic, warned that social media popularity indeed has added a grim spectacle to this case.

"Rogan is right about one thing: People can turn cases like this into teams. That is not healthy. Lindsay Clancy should not be treated like a hero or celebrity. Three children died. And some of the TikTok commentary around this case is just dumb. People are defending her for reasons that have nothing to do with the evidence or acting as if her husband must somehow be the real villain," Witt-Doerring said.

"That is ignorant and deplorable. It reminds me of the Luigi Mangione case, where people rushed to turn someone into a symbol before they even understood the facts. If you are going to defend Lindsay, defend her based on the actual medical and legal evidence, not because of some viral narrative.

"I think this is where a lot of people misunderstand what the support for Lindsay actually represents. They see a few extreme voices online and assume that is what everyone supporting her believes. Most women supporting Lindsay are not saying, 'It’s OK that she killed her children.' They are saying the postpartum period can be extremely hard, and many women understand the anxiety, lack of sleep, financial stress and pressure to return to work.

"They are also angry at a mental health system that often seems to rely too much on medication. Lindsay was prescribed 13 different psychiatric drugs in the months before the deaths, and there is evidence that those medications may have played a role in making her worse. Would a father get the same sympathy?

"Probably less. But if a father came home from war, became depressed, trusted his doctors, was put on drugs that pushed him into psychosis and killed someone while unable to understand what he was doing, I would make the same argument for him.

"I also think it is wrong to say that if Lindsay is found NGRI [not guilty by reason of insanity] then anyone with mental illness can commit a crime and avoid prison. That is not how it works," he said, adding that cases like Clancy's are "rare, extreme cases."

Mary Marslender, a former GOP consultant, agreed with Rogan that there is a clear double standard regarding how a man would be treated in a similar case.

"Joe Rogan is spot on. Would there be a supporter rally for a father who committed the same act? Of course not. If a man mapped how long his wife would be gone, sent her out for takeout and then violently strangled his three children in the basement, no one would be posting 'I am him,'" Marslender said.

"There would be no GoFundMe campaign framed as solidarity. He would be labeled a monster, and these same women in pink would be the first to condemn him. The double standard is not a surprise; it is the hypocrisy of feminism."

Marslender concluded, "It is possible to acknowledge that Clancy was ill and that our psychiatric system is deeply flawed, while also refusing to idolize someone who brutally killed her own children. This is not a story of misplaced compassion; it’s one of deep moral confusion.

"These children were not merely statistics or a talking point; they were a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old and a baby. A movement that needs to be reminded of these children’s humanity clearly is not to society’s benefit."

Burning Man murder mystery deepens as new details emerge 1 year after desert festival killing

A year after a man was found stabbed to death inside a tent at Burning Man — the annual weeklong art and music festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert — his killer remains at large, and investigators still cannot account for the final hours before his death.

Vadim Kruglov, a 37-year-old Russian-born man who had been living in Washington state, was discovered in a pool of blood at the wild festival at about 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2025, as the iconic "Man" burned. And with this year's event already underway after kicking off Sunday and scheduled to conclude on Labor Day, no arrests have been made.

But new details about the killing and Kruglov's final days are now emerging through KTLA and a yearlong investigation by SFGATE, which interviewed more than 80 people connected to Kruglov, or the sprawling desert festival which draws up to 80,000 people known as "burners."

Investigators said that they believe Kruglov was killed inside the red-and-white tent where his body was found, Pershing County Sheriff's Sgt. Nathan Carmichael told SFGATE.

A knife remained lodged in his neck, and an autopsy found no defensive wounds, suggesting he had little or no chance to fight back, according to the outlet.

"When you get stabbed in the manner that he was, you’re going to be out in seconds," Carmichael told SFGATE.

The weapon was recovered at the scene and yielded several DNA profiles, then-Pershing County Detective Josh Nicholson told SFGATE.

Kruglov's cellphone was also recovered, but had not been unlocked at the time of Nicholson's interview, the outlet reported.

One of the largest unanswered questions centers on the roughly four hours before Kruglov was found.

Black Rock Rangers — fellow burners who assist others in need — reportedly took him to Rampart, a temporary hospital on the festival grounds, where he spent much of Aug. 30, and received medical care, Nicholson told SFGATE.

He was released at about 5 p.m., but investigators have not publicly accounted for his movements between then and 9:14 p.m., when he was discovered with the fatal neck wound.

Earlier that morning, at about 2 a.m., Kruglov had reportedly been seen DJing with two men at a camp on the outskirts of the festival, not far from where his body would later be found.

SELF-DESTRUCTING PHONE CODE SPARKS FEDERAL CASE

Authorities have not identified those men, despite receiving hundreds of tips, according to KTLA.

Friends and campmates also described troubling behavior in the days before Kruglov's death. They told SFGATE that he became increasingly paranoid after using cocaine and what may have been methamphetamine, at one point saying people were watching him and wanted him out of the camp.

One campmate, Alex Barnov, told the outlet he believed Kruglov's paranoia was drug-induced and said Kruglov appeared fine after waking the next day.

Another campmate said Kruglov was focused on getting an Apple AirTag to work on Aug. 29, so others could track him, though the remote location made the device difficult to use, according to SFGATE.

Kruglov's death unfolded as tens of thousands of festivalgoers gathered for the burning of "The Man," the signature spectacle at the annual nine-day gathering dedicated to art, community and self-expression.

His death marked the first known homicide in Burning Man’s history, Carmichael told SFGATE.

A man initially alerted a deputy after finding Kruglov on the ground, according to the Pershing County Sheriff's Office. Authorities secured the area and established a perimeter while the celebration continued around them.

An anonymous witness later told The Hollywood Reporter that she and her partner were leaving Black Rock City when an older woman in a red dress flagged them down and calmly said a man inside her tent was "bleeding out and might be dead." The woman reportedly said she had not checked his pulse because she "didn’t want to touch him."

The group contacted a Black Rock Ranger using Starlink, and the information was relayed to law enforcement, the witness said.

Kruglov, who was originally from Omsk, Siberia, was identified through fingerprints by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office days after the killing.

His father, Igor Kruglov, later released an emotional video from Russia calling for justice.

"Words can’t express my feelings," he said. "I’m proud of my son, now known worldwide. He felt injustice deeply and fought for fairness always. I believe a similar situation occurred here. I want those responsible to face consequences."

In the days after the killing, the sheriff's office appealed for any information that could identify a suspect in what it called a "heinous crime."

Stan Kroenke's record-setting LA Angels purchase should make longterm MLB lockout less likely

If there were any remaining doubts as to the viability and earning potential of Major League Baseball teams, this week's news should end it.

Out of seemingly nowhere, Stan Kroenke, one of the wealthiest people in America, agreed to purchase a majority stake in the Los Angeles Angels from longtime owner Arte Moreno. It had been rumored in recent years that Moreno was considering a sale, but a deal never materialized. Until now.

The price Kroenke paid for the Angels was estimated at a record-breaking $4 billion, representing an enormous return for Moreno who purchased the franchise for just over $180 million from the Walt Disney Company back in 2003. It was also, at first glance, a significant price for an organization that has the longest postseason drought in baseball. Despite having Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani on the same roster for several seasons, the Angels have not reached the playoffs since 2014.

The immediate question, then, is why? Why would Kroenke, an eminently talented and successful businessman who's already principal owner of organizations like the Los Angeles Rams, Arsenal FC and the Denver Nuggets, now turn his attention to, well, the polar opposite?

And the answer explains why so much of the information coming from Major League Baseball and the league's owners is misleading, at best.

With the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and MLB Players Association expiring at the end of the season, it's widely expected that the owners will lock the players out until a new deal can be reached. The largest point of contention between the two sides is disagreement over a potential salary cap.

Players have, for decades, said a salary cap is a red line they will never accept. While owners are hoping to take advantage of widespread, and inaccurate, fan sentiment believing that a salary cap is necessary for the league to achieve competitive balance.

Another key aspect of their argument is that the business of baseball is not as strong as it should be. That franchise valuations have lagged behind the NFL because that league has a salary cap, ensuring relatively fixed costs for players. As well as that the collapse of the local sports television networks have negatively impacted their bottom lines.

Here's the problem with that, though: there have been two MLB organizations to sell in 2026: the San Diego Padres and now the Angels. Both set records for the largest ever purchase price of an MLB team, and neither organization has a local broadcast partner, like say, the Dodgers do with Spectrum SportsNet LA or the Yankees do with YES. If the loss in revenue from those television deals was so catastrophic, why are these two organizations worth so much money?

MLBPA Interim Executive Director Bruce Meyer told OutKick that it shows the "overall health" of the industry is outstanding and that owners are realizing "huge profits."

"Arte Moreno bought the Angels in 2003 for $183.5 million, and now the team is in the middle of the longest playoff drought in MLB, with 11 consecutive losing seasons," Meyer said. "Despite that record — and Moreno’s complaints about profitability — yesterday, Moreno sold the team to Stan Kroenke for at least a record $4 billion, netting a multibillion-dollar return on his purchase. It's a perfect example of the overall health of the industry, and the huge profits owners realize from owning baseball teams—value which is generated by the talents of players."

Kroenke's not one to make bad investments, nor one to rush to judgment on a $4 billion purchase. So why'd he do it? Because, as Meyer says, baseball is booming.

The Angels are a potential gold mine waiting to be taken advantage of by competent ownership. Even without a competitive team, for more than a decade, the Angels still rank 13th in baseball in average attendance with nearly 33,000 tickets sold per game. Already, reports have suggested Kroenke intends to build a brand new, multi-billion dollar stadium to take advantage of a fanbase ready and willing to support a winning team.

Trout, the long-suffering franchise icon, said as much.

"I'm excited," he said Tuesday after the news broke. "Look, the track record — it's there."

"Seeing the reaction from the fans and some of the guys and the whole vibe, I think it was needed for a fresh start," he continued. "The biggest thing is getting that feeling of getting that winning culture back and having that vibe in the clubhouse."

The problem from the players' perspective is that when the league says they want to base a salary cap on the revenue they bring in, they exclude this ancillary, connected, income from the calculation.

Kroenke bought the Angels for a gigantic price because he doesn't care whether a salary cap happens or not. None of the owners care about a salary cap, at least as it pertains to competitive balance. They want to limit spending on players and retain more profits. That's it.

The jury in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial spent a fifth day deliberating Wednesday, reported for a second time that it was deadlocked, received a rare instruction from the judge urging jurors to keep working toward a verdict and ultimately went home without reaching a unanimous decision.

The latest developments brought the closely watched Massachusetts murder trial a step closer to the possibility of a mistrial, though jurors are scheduled to return Thursday to continue deliberating.

The panel of nine women and three men resumed deliberations Wednesday after telling Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan a day earlier that it could not unanimously agree on a verdict.

When jurors again reported they remained deadlocked Wednesday, Sullivan delivered a Tuey-Rodriguez charge, a formal instruction encouraging them to continue deliberating while reminding them not to abandon honestly held beliefs simply to reach a unanimous verdict.

Jurors continued deliberating for several more hours after receiving the instruction before Sullivan dismissed them for the day without a verdict.

Named for two Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decisions, the Tuey-Rodriguez charge encourages jurors to carefully consider one another's views while preserving sincerely held convictions. It is generally considered the final procedural step before a judge may declare a mistrial if jurors remain unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

"The reasoning is that it often works," retired Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Thomas Drechsler previously told Fox News Digital. "It encourages the jurors to rethink their own feelings in light of what other jurors feel, reminds them that no one's ever going to be in a better position to decide this than them."

But if jurors again report they are deadlocked after receiving the instruction, Drechsler said, "I think there's a high likelihood that it will end up in a mistrial."

The jury must determine whether Clancy was criminally responsible when she killed her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — inside the family's Duxbury, Massachusetts, home Jan. 24, 2023.

Clancy, 36, a former labor and delivery nurse, does not dispute killing the children. Her defense argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should be found not criminally responsible. Prosecutors contend she carefully planned the killings, knew right from wrong and concealed disturbing thoughts from medical providers because she understood they were wrong.

Wednesday also brought developments outside the courtroom after Dawn Light, the woman accused of filming jurors as they left the courthouse Tuesday, was arraigned on a witness intimidation-related charge. She pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors said a video recovered from her cellphone showed Clancy jurors leaving the courthouse, while Light maintained she was trying to catch a glimpse of Clancy and did not realize she had recorded jurors.

A judge released Light on personal recognizance and ordered her to stay away from the courthouse, have no contact with jurors or witnesses and refrain from sharing any images.

Before jurors resumed deliberations Wednesday morning, Sullivan also reminded those in the courtroom that orders protecting jurors and other participants are "being enforced and will be enforced," though he did not specifically reference Light's arrest.

Transgender actor Elliot Page revealed Thursday on the "On Film... with Kevin McCarthy" podcast that acting offers had dried up after appearing in Christopher Nolan's blockbuster "The Odyssey," suggesting casting had become more difficult because Hollywood viewed him differently after his transition.

Page reflected on the difference between his career before and after publicly coming out as transgender in 2020, suggesting he may need to take a more proactive role in developing projects and approaching filmmakers.

"I was seen in a certain way before, and it’s different now," he said. "So maybe there is something to reaching out to people and trying to create projects that way. But it’s a little tricky for me to get cast now, for obvious, pretty obvious reasons."

"No, I was not a fan."

The president added that he "had a very good relationship with the queen. Really good. I got to know her very well."

Super Bowl-winning coach Charles "Kippy" Brown died this week at age 71.

His cause of death is unknown.

Brown began his football career as a quarterback at the University of Memphis from 1974-77, becoming the first Black quarterback in school history. The school inducted Brown into the M Club Hall of Fame in 2016 and he was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. He also was honored with the Billy J. Murphy Award.

The Sweetwater, Tennessee, native then began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1978. After spending time at Louisville and Tennessee as a wide receivers coach, Brown transitioned to the pro ranks.

With the New York Jets he was the team’s running backs coach from 1990-92. He returned to Tennessee for two years to be the team's wide receivers coach after his Jets tenure. Brown then returned to the pro level for the rest of his career, except for one year in 2009 when he went back to Tennessee to be a wide receivers coach.

Brown coached for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. He spent one year as the head coach of the Memphis Maniax of the XFL.

He was the Seahawks' wide receivers coach from 2010-14 when they made consecutive Super Bowl runs. Brown coached Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate, Jermaine Kearse and Sidney Rice and was beloved by his players and fellow staff.

"He was a great friend to everybody, because he had such a positive, good, fun-loving spirit," former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told the team's website. "Everybody loved being around Kip. And he had a light about him, he wanted to have a good time and have fun and make things pleasant for everyone around him. That's why so many people have rallied around him in this last month or so and reached out to (his wife) Deon, being supportive and loving. He was a wonderful person, and my heart goes out to Deon and the family. It's a beautiful family."

Baldwin credited Brown with helping him become the man he is today.

"Kippy was the perfect person for us, for our group of guys who came in at that time—myself, Ricardo (Lockette), Jermaine, Golden, Sid," Baldwin told the Seahawks website. "For me as a young person to have him as my rookie coach, I know I would not have been the player I was if it wasn't for Kippy. I owe a great deal to him as a coach who helped me develop as a player, but also the man that he was, the way that he held us accountable as young men, doing it in a way that was considerate, and we knew he was only doing it because he loved and cared about us, I wouldn't be the man that I am today without Kippy Brown."

Brown is survived by his wife, Deon, and his two children, Jennifer and Jeome.

Influencer banned from Hard Rock Stadium after incident with security during Dolphins game

Miami Dolphins games and any other event at Hard Rock Stadium, for that matter, will take place with one less influencer in attendance. A permanent ban was handed down following an incident with security on Friday night.

Tough news to hear, I know. The influencer and OnlyFans model Celina Powell was kicked out of the final Dolphins preseason game, reports TMZ. She was then banned after getting into it with stadium security.

The incident occurred after she was asked to move her feet off of a wall that was located in front of her seat, witnesses told TMZ. She allegedly replied to the request, as one does, by saying, "Shut the f*** up talking to me."

That's one way to handle the situation. Sheriff's deputies reportedly showed up to assist security with removing Powell for a little disorderly conduct.

The 31-year-old confirmed to TMZ that she was escorted out of the stadium and banned. She also told them that she was informed that she could go to court to appeal the permanent ban if she wanted.

She doesn't plan to do so and you can't blame her. Who wants to attend games at a stadium where security is going around asking people to take their feet off the wall? That's not a fun environment.

Suburban Illinois boy dies in suspected domestic homicide as neighbors fear another Lindsay Clancy case

A 2-year-old boy died Tuesday after police were called to a Frankfort, Illinois, home, where officers also found the child’s mother attempting to harm herself in a case that neighbors feared could be similar to Lindsay Clancy's.

Officers were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. to the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court after receiving a report of an unresponsive child.

When they arrived, officers found the boy inside the home and began CPR before he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Police said the boy’s mother was also found at the residence with injuries believed to have been self-inflicted. She was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation points to a domestic-related homicide, police said. Authorities have not disclosed how the boy died, identified the mother or said whether she has been accused of a crime.

You never think it's going to hit so close to home," she said, NBC Chicago reported. "And so yeah, that absolutely makes us think of that. And again, just more people I think are struggling than we realize and so we just need to be there for one another."

Anna Wintour found herself at the center of a fashion firestorm after plans to celebrate disgraced designer John Galliano at the Met Gala unraveled.

Scrapping the planned 2027 exhibition devoted to Galliano's work did little to quiet the criticism, with fashion industry insiders telling the New York Post that Wintour should face greater scrutiny over her role in the project.

"I wish Anna would take more accountability," an insider told the New York Post.

"She is the person who wanted this to happen, never fully considering the consequences,’’ the source said. "She is the public face and reaps the benefit of the gala and the surrounding coverage.

"Why does she only get to reap the rewards and not face more criticism?"

Red carpet expert Melissa Rivers told Page Six Style, "Anna Wintour is brilliant, but people rarely say no [to her]. And, in the past, she’s made some mistakes of not reading the room correctly."

Rivers said her late mother, Joan Rivers, "would have hated" a Galliano-themed Met Gala but admitted she was a fan of his designs.

"He was such a force of nature in fashion and design. … Is it a great time to honor his work? Unfortunately, no, not a great read of the room," she said.

At the heart of the Met Gala backlash was Galliano’s troubled past. Galliano, long recognized as one of the fashion world’s biggest talents for his creatively flamboyant designs, was at the pinnacle of that world for years as the creative director of Christian Dior.

He was fired in 2011 after a series of racist and antisemitic remarks he made in 2010 and 2011 surfaced and went viral, leading to his conviction in an antisemitism trial in France.

Among the remarks Galliano made to bar patrons and circulated on video was the statement, "I love Hitler." He also told Jewish patrons that their mothers and forefathers would have been "gassed." He also made derogatory comments to an Asian patron.

After he was dropped by Dior, Galliano spent several years working to rehabilitate his image and career. He made a comeback in 2014 when he was hired by Paris fashion house Maison Margiela, where he remained for a decade.

However, putting him at the center of the Costume Institute's 2027 exhibition brought new scrutiny for Vogue's former editor-in-chief. Others defended Wintour, arguing the decision had extended far beyond her.

"People seem to think she’s the sole person [making decisions about the Met theme]," a source told the New York Post. "It’s a huge amount of people on the Met board that signed off on this. She’s a piece of that.

"It wasn’t her decision alone, by any stretch of the imagination. This exhibition … people have been speaking about it for at least a couple of years," the source added. "It was a big group decision. It’s a team effort. Not just her."

Responsibility for approving the exhibition may have stretched well beyond Wintour, but Galliano appeared to make one thing clear: The decision to kill it was his.

"After much reflection and discussion with The Met and all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time," he said in a statement shared by The Met.

"I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry for it.

"I understand that meaningful atonement is not achieved through an exhibition, institutional recognition or a single public gesture. It is a continuing responsibility, demonstrated through listening, learning and one’s conduct over time."

The Costume Institute's curator in charge, Andrew Bolton, also addressed the controversy, saying he supported the decision after extensive discussions.

"I believe deeply in the responsibility of museums to examine difficult histories with rigor, candor and care," he said. "I also recognize the pain and concern this exhibition has caused. After extensive discussion, I support the decision not to proceed. I remain deeply grateful to my colleagues and to the advisors, lenders, collaborators and community leaders who contributed their knowledge, trust and perspectives to the project."

Galliano took responsibility, and Bolton acknowledged the pain the exhibition had caused, but some fashion industry insiders continued to criticize Wintour. The longtime fashion power broker released her own statement, which did not include an apology.

"John's decision that the exhibition devoted to his work should not take place at this time is very courageous and a measure of the man he is," she said in a statement released Monday. "I believe this is the right decision, and both he and the Museum have my full support."

"It’s too late for an apology – she should retire," one insider told the Post.

Wintour "doesn’t understand what people are talking about and thought she could shoulder through this, and it would blow over," another source said.

"Anna’s lost her touch on the zeitgeist," the source said.

Yet insiders said Wintour’s backing of Galliano grew out of her belief in redemption and second chances. Her support for Galliano as the original choice for the 2027 Met Gala wasn't necessarily a surprise.

"It comes from a place of love and forgiveness," an insider told the outlet. "She really believes in people’s second chances and becoming better people and learning from mistakes. It came from a good place. She considers him a friend and wants what’s best for him."

NBA levies astonishing penalty against Clippers over cap circumvention involving Steve Ballmer, Kawhi Leonard

The NBA stripped five first-round draft picks from the Los Angeles Clippers, fined owner Steve Ballmer $30 million and suspended key executives after a yearlong investigation found that the team circumvented salary-cap rules in connection with Kawhi Leonard.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Clippers will forfeit their first-round picks from 2029 through 2033, which absolutely guts their draft capital for the next decade.

It’s a punishment so severe that the NBA has rarely, if ever, dropped the hammer this hard.

The NBA cited "a pattern of misconduct and multiple significant rules violations," determining that team officials systematically coordinated off-the-books arrangements rather than making an isolated error.

Lady A's Charles Kelley is sharing how his life has changed since starting his sobriety journey.

In an Instagram post shared Monday, the 44-year-old musician shared photos from before and after he began his journey with sobriety, crediting his decision to stop drinking with his healthier appearance.

"My best filter is just…not drinking," he wrote in the caption. "Swipe to see my before 😬 my wife asked me if I ever look at a photo of myself before I was sober and think 'who is that guy?' This is the one 😃."

The before photo shows him looking dazed as he posed for the selfie, while the after picture shows him posing for a photo with his wife while out on the water.

"I’m 1,148 days sober today! So proud of you! I know it’s hard but so worth it! 👏👏👏" one fan wrote. Another added, "Ahhh yes, the puffy drinking face! 4 years sober and I hope I never have to see that puffy face ever again! Proud of you 👏."

Kelley's journey with sobriety first became public knowledge in August 2022, when Lady A shared with its fans that it was postponing its Request Line Tour to support him.

The musician shared that as his drinking continued to become concerning, his bandmates brought their concerns to him, but he pushed them aside. He ultimately decided to seek help after his wife threatened to leave him if he didn't quit drinking, leading him to fly from his vacation in Greece to a treatment center.

"It just makes me feel so grateful at how close I came to losing it all," he said. "And I think the thing that’s hard is to know how much it affected Cassie the most, and my band and the people around me. And how much it emotionally kinda wrecked them for a while. And that, I can’t really say I’m sorry enough. And it’s just gonna take time to rebuild that."

Kelley shared that he had attempted to quit before but didn't think he needed rehab because he believed that was for people with more serious problems with alcohol.

What he learned, however, is that there are different "degrees of alcoholics" and that "just because you're not living on the street, or you're not waking up in a bush" doesn't mean there isn't a problem.

Ultimately, the musician stayed in rehab for one month and credited group therapy, a case manager and a blood alcohol detection device that he would blow into twice a day for aiding his recovery.

"I went to treatment for a month in Utah, and I really didn't know if I was ever going to be coming back home to my bed," Kelley told People in June 2025. "And that was tough. I'd written a lot of songs about heartbreak, but I don't know if I ever really knew what heartbreak felt like until I was there and had that moment."

Lincoln Riley dismisses empty seats controversy as a 'false narrative' after low-attendance USC home opener

The USC Trojans started their college football season on the right foot, defeating San Jose State University 42-26 in Week 0, as expected given their No. 14 ranking entering the new season.

However, some college football fans were concerned by the turnout at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after seeing many empty seats for the team’s home opener.

The Trojans are one of the top teams in the country, and though they were five-touchdown favorites entering this matchup against SJSU, pictures of the empty seats caused a stir on social media.

The stir doesn’t matter to Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley, though.

"This is USC, right? People are going to pay attention," Riley said in his latest press conference session. "People are going to have an opinion. It’s part of being a blue-blood school. I don’t buy into the false narrative. I think that comes from a lot of people that don’t follow our program. And most of those who have never set foot in the Coliseum.

In Riley’s defense, and USC fans for that matter, it was a 90-plus-degree day out in Los Angeles. Considering USC was a heavy favorite, and the West Coast is known for enjoying its summer days in various capacities, perhaps fans wanted to forego a visit to the Coliseum expecting their Trojans to win.

USC will be right back home on Friday, this time against Fresno State, where the high in Los Angeles is expected to be around 87 degrees. The game will kick off 6 p.m. local time.

The "false narrative" comment from Riley will likely come to fruition for other games this season, especially against ranked opponents.

USC will be taking on No. 2 Oregon at the Coliseum on Sept. 26, while hosting No. 17 Washington the following week. Also, a matchup against the current No. 1-ranked team in the country, Ohio State, will be on Halloween.

Pabst CEO has blunt message after thieves make off with truckload of PBR in brazen beer heist

The brazen theft of an entire truckload of Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) has taken another wild turn, with the beer giant's CEO personally calling out the thieves and putting a reward on the table to get the stolen haul back.

"Someone had the (nerve) to steal it," Pabst Brewing Company CEO Greig DeBow said in a video posted to TikTok. "I don't know. Kudos to them, perhaps."

But DeBow quickly made clear that he wanted the beer back.

"I'm sure they look cool with a garage full of PBR," he said. "That's actually not cool, though. But we want it back."

DeBow then revealed that Pabst is offering up to $20,000 for new information leading to the recovery of the stolen beer and gave whoever has it until Sept. 9 to return it.

"We want it by Sept. 9," he said. "If you don't bring it back, well, we have no choice. We're going to offer up to $20,000 for any new information leading to the lost goods."

The public appeal is the latest twist in what Pabst has dubbed the "Great American Beer Heist," which began when 1,602 cases of PBR, roughly 40,000 pounds of beer, disappeared from a warehouse in Montclair, California, Aug. 17.

"It's that simple," DeBow said of the reward. "There's been a hell of a lot of support thus far, and we really appreciate it."

The $20,000 offer raises the stakes in Pabst's increasingly public effort to track down the massive shipment.

The oddly specific countdown appeared to be a nod to 1844, the year Pabst was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Pabst later insisted the bizarre disappearance was not a publicity stunt.

"To clear up the confusion, this story is real," the company wrote on social media, urging anyone with information to come forward.

As the deadline ticked down, Pabst joked that the "beer is getting warmer" while the trail got colder and asked anyone who spotted the truck to take a photo and contact the company.

Montclair police said in a social media post that investigators were looking into two cargo thefts reported Aug. 17 at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center that could be connected.

In the first case, a shipment worth approximately $45,000 and bound for Tucson, Arizona, was picked up for delivery but never reached its destination, according to police.

About an hour later, police said, a company claiming to be a subcontractor used fraudulent paperwork to arrange the pickup of roughly $25,000 worth of Anheuser-Busch and Pabst Blue Ribbon products.

Investigators found discrepancies with the trucking company information, drivers and vehicles associated with the pickups, leading police to believe the cases could be part of the same fraudulent cargo theft operation.

"As many of you might've heard, a great deal of PBR has gone missing," DeBow said. "How much, you ask? Well, 1,602 cases. That's a full truckload of PBR."

One of the most exciting parts about college football is the possibility of massive upsets.

On more than one occasion each weekend, a team with a bunch of future NFL Draft picks will line up across from a team of future accountants, and every once in a while, those accountants, through sheer force of will and the power of friendship, will shock the college football world and hand a roster full of five-stars a giant L.

Maybe it's not always that dramatic, but every college football season offers the opportunity to see shocking losses from teams who were supposed to win by four or five touchdowns.

SEC LAWYERS, LANE KIFFIN AND DEATH VALLEY: COLLEGE FOOTBALL’S WEEK 1 IS SET FOR FIREWORKS

Apparently, this coming Saturday is no different, at least if ESPN's Jordan Rodgers is to be believed.

Rodgers was on SportsCenter earlier Wednesday to talk a little college ball, and when pressed to give a big upset pick in the vein of Appalachian State over Michigan in 2007, the former SEC quarterback and Bachelorette contestant gave a shocking answer: Tennessee.

The 20th-ranked Vols are breaking in a lot of new pieces, sure, but they're also playing Furman, an FCS school that went 6-6 last year and got dog-walked by the only FBS team they played in 2025 (45-10 vs. Clemson).

Now, to be fair to Rodgers, he did kind of get put on the spot, and honestly, kudos to him for even being able to give an answer here while keeping a straight face.

This one falls at the feet of the SportsCenter producers for putting him in a position to even have to make a prediction like that.

Tennessee is favored to win this game by nearly seven touchdowns, and frankly, I'd be shocked if Furman even covers.

The Vols have weapons all over the field, and Josh Heupel's fast-paced, wide-open offense absolutely feasts on lesser-talented teams.

Again, I'm not knocking Rodgers for this answer. It's more of an indictment on the producers for trying to drum up a headline (which I bit on hook, line and sinker, obviously).

However, I did see a few in the comments section mentioning that Rodgers is a former Vanderbilt Commodore, so perhaps this was intentional on his part.

Maybe he didn't want to miss the chance to throw a little shade at the Dores' biggest rivals, and the producers and host just threw him a bone.

WHICH TEAMS ARE OVERRATED OR UNDERRATED IN NEW PRESEASON COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACHES POLL?

Either way, don't expect too much from this game.

I admit I had a lot of fun picking some intriguing potential upsets earlier this week, but I can't see this one being competitive for more than a quarter.

If Tennessee wins this game by less than 28 points, I would be shocked, and it would probably mean Volunteers fans should start finding some Saturday hobbies this fall.

More than two decades after becoming a box-office hit, Mel Gibson’s "The Passion of the Christ" is returning to theaters nationwide as the Oscar-winning director prepares to tell the next chapter of the biblical story.

Gibson spoke exclusively with Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo about his upcoming two-part follow-up, "The Resurrection of the Christ," reflecting on stories of real-life crime confessions and faith transformations he said were inspired by the original film, as well as the pre-release pushback it faced.

"And previous depictions of it had been pretty much sanitized, and they made it look easy, and it wasn't. So, I wanted to emphasize that this was not easy. In fact, he didn't want to do it."

"The Passion of the Christ" is a biblical drama depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in excruciating detail. It starred Jim Caviezel as Jesus and focused on the final 12 hours of Jesus’ life, with dialogue mainly in Aramaic, Hebrew and Latin.

"It didn't do that at all, which I was pleased with," Gibson said. "Because people were like pointing at me and yelling at me, and it didn’t spawn any violence."

Liberal Atlantic writer Jemele Hill doubled down after suggesting that capitalism was linked to White supremacy, during a heated clash with another panelist on CNN on Tuesday.

"It's one thing to not think capitalism isn't working ideally. It's another thing entirely to insist that it is oppressive, that it is bound up with White supremacy," Kmele Foster, a podcast host, said.

"How is it not?" Hill pressed.

The panelists were responding to newly unearthed 2020 comments, first reported by CNN, in which Texas Senate candidate James Talarico described capitalism as an "oppressive system" that is linked to White supremacy and climate change and needs to be dismantled.

"I've always preferred Adam Smith's description of capitalism as the natural system of liberty, the idea that people can own property, that they can exchange it freely with one another for profit, that they can find ways to put their resources to good use, those private property," Foster continued.

He added, "And profit in a way that is actually beneficial to everyone else, that there can be gains from trade that are mutually beneficial. These are foundational ideas that have created more wealth than any other system in human history. That is what capitalism is, that's not White supremacy."

"Do you think capitalism has always worked that way?" Hill asked Foster.

"I've actually just described the basic facts of economics," Foster responded. "Slavery is an institution that is older than writing. It predates capitalism. The notion that White supremacy and all these other things are bound up with capitalism in an intrinsic and fundamental way is so absurd and laughable, it barely needs to be defended."

Foster asked Hill to substantiate her argument and asked multiple times about the "the White supremacist dynamic of private property."

"But you're talking about capitalism in the purest form of how it was intended to work versus how it's actually working. It's not working," Hill argued.

Hill was called out on social media by other media commentators and hosts.

Political commentor Mary Katharine Ham said, "Kmele: ‘You actually have to articulate what the connection is.' Hill writes for the Atlantic and has years of TV experience, but it didn’t occur to her she would ever need to, and she isn’t prepared to."

Podcast host Stephen Miller noted that Hill worked for the Atlantic and wrote, "She is a staff writer for one of the most prestigious neoliberal publications in the country and she's never been once challenged on any of her ideas like this."

Liberal commentator Leigh McGowan also made the case that capitalism was not working during the exchange.

"I think that's the problem. I think the problem is it's not working well, today. I think for a long time that is a great way to describe it. Adam Smith capitalism, if we had that, that would be totally different," she said. "We have got to a place where we have deregulated everything so much that only a certain handful of people are actually succeeding in this version of capitalism."

Socialism has gained popularity among younger voters, according to a Fox News Poll from March. The survey found a record 38% believed it would be a good thing for the United States to move away from capitalism and in the direction of socialism — up from 32% in 2022, the last time the question was asked. In 2010, a low of 18% backed socialism.

Hill appeared to double down after the exchange.

"America was built on the institution of slavery. It is how America became a world economic power — the buying and selling of people being tied to the economy. That is effectively White supremacy, since it was a race-based system. Fast-forward to other economic policies that were guided by race — housing, employment, etc. There were rules that prevented Black people from equally participating in the free economy. In fact, one of the most glaring features of American capitalism is racial inequality. The racial wealth gap exists because specific policies were put in place to suppress economic participation. So yes, capitalism is tied to White supremacy," Hill said in a post to X that followed the CNN panel debate.

Hill did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for further comment.

Talarico made his 2020 comments at the Austin Sierra Club during a virtual candidate forum while serving his first term as a state representative. His answer came in response to a question about what lawmakers could do to address climate change in communities of color, according to CNN's K-File.

"I am so thankful that you asked this question and also thankful that young activists have really drawn the link between climate change and White supremacy and capitalism in our country," Talarico said. "And I think only ending the ways that all three of those oppressive systems work together are we gonna be able to begin the process of dismantling them."

During the same event, Talarico said the oil and gas industry was not going to last.

"We all know that Texas has been a leader in oil and gas, but in many ways that’s like being the leader in cassette tapes in the 1980s," Talarico later said, responding to another question. "That industry is not gonna last. And if we wanna ensure we have an economy that’s gonna work for our children and our children’s children, we gotta be ahead of the curve and Texas has to lead instead of follow on this issue."

Ennis' statement also said Talarico is a "proud capitalist," and "agrees with the majority of Texans that racism, natural disasters, and a billionaire-controlled economy are all problems we need to address."

Sheriff suing Maryland says sanctuary laws ignore lessons of 9/11: ‘Stupidity at its best’

A Maryland sheriff leading 17 of the Old Line State’s 24 counties in a lawsuit challenging Annapolis’ sanctuary city policy told Congress the lessons of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks are being forgotten as the nation prepares to mark the 25th anniversary.

Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler of Harford County — where local women Rachel Morin and Kayla Hamilton were murdered by illegal immigrants in 2023 and 2022, respectively — is leading the suit and echoed concerns about the consequences of mandated limits on cooperation and communication between local and federal law enforcement.

"There's just many things that [Annapolis’] legislature has done over the past eight years or so, unfortunately, rang into that bell. But when you pass legislation in a world post-9/11 – in 9/11 we learned that we need to communicate with … all federal partners to keep our community safe," Gahler said when questioned by Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, as to why he called Maryland’s sanctuary laws as "pro-criminal."

"Yet, we in our state see fit to pass legislation to say we can't communicate with this law enforcement or that law enforcement," Gahler added. "It's stupidity at its best."

Gahler also told lawmakers that Maryland’s law has changed what his deputies can do when federal immigration authorities want to take custody of someone being released from local detention. He said the restrictions can require deputies to release people they believe could pose a danger rather than hold them for federal authorities.

Seated behind Gahler were several of the other plaintiff-sheriffs in the suit against the Moore administration.

Gov. Wes Moore, who is locked in a gubernatorial rematch with former Del. Dan Cox, R-Frederick, signed Maryland’s ban on 287(g) agreements earlier this year while allowing a broader bill to become law without his signature.

State Sen. Clarence Lam, D-Elkridge, authored the bill, called the Community Trust Act, which prohibits "Agents of State," law enforcement and corrections officials from questioning immigration status, detaining suspects to investigate citizenship or immigration status, or detaining them because police believe they committed a civil immigration violation.

The new law also bans law enforcement from notifying federal immigration authorities that a detainee is in their custody unless required by a court order, rather than just an ICE detainer.

Gahler said it is not a burden on his job to honor detainers, contrary to Democrats who have considered whether working with ICE takes away resources from local communities.

He answered in the affirmative when asked by Gill whether illegal immigrants who become "petty criminals" should be removed rather than limiting enforcement to cases involving more serious crimes.

"That’s 100% what I believe," Gahler said.

Moore has said the Community Trust Act advances important goals by keeping law enforcement focused on crime reduction, according to Ocean City’s NPR affiliate, while citing logistical concerns that should be addressed through executive action or during the 2027 legislative session.

Meanwhile, Gahler and the other sheriffs suing the state argue the Community Trust Act prevents them from pursuing those goals in cases involving people sought by federal immigration authorities.

Terrorism, armed conflict prompt stark warning for Americans visiting scenic spot

Officials are urging Americans to steer clear of a Middle Eastern destination known for its dramatic desert landscapes, rugged mountains and picturesque coastline.

The U.S. State Department updated its "Level 3: Reconsider Travel" travel advisory for Oman on Aug. 30.

The advisory was updated to reflect that family members may now travel to Oman to join U.S. government employees stationed there — while the advisory level and risk indicators remain unchanged.

TERROR THREAT LOOMS OVER COASTAL DESTINATION AS US WARNS ATTACKS COULD STRIKE WITHOUT NOTICE

Officials warn that Oman faces a "risk of armed conflict and terrorism."

The advisory also points to an ongoing threat of drone and missile attacks from Iran following the onset of hostilities between the United States and Iran on Feb. 28.

"Terrorism is a concern in Oman," the advisory states.

"Attacks can occur with little or no warning, especially around holidays," it adds. "They can involve knives, firearms and vehicles."

ROBBERIES, ASSAULTS AND RAPES SPUR NEW US TRAVEL WARNING FOR POPULAR CARIBBEAN GETAWAY

The State Department said terrorists can target tourist locations, transportation hubs and places "visited by U.S. citizens and other foreigners."

Tourists are also urged to keep their guard up around markets, shopping malls, entertainment venues and government facilities.

"Terrorists may use violence to respond to direct attacks against them or other military operations in the region," the advisory said.

Additionally, Americans are told not to travel to the Yemen border area due to terrorism and armed conflict.

While Oman has a smaller travel industry than some of its Gulf neighbors, its tourism sector has been growing.

The country received nearly 4 million visitors in 2025, according to Oman's National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The country is home to numerous historic sites, including Nizwa Fort, as well as Muscat's historic forts and waterfront architecture.

Officials are urging Americans who decide to travel to Oman to enroll in the State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).

Additionally, Americans are advised to purchase travel insurance and to have an emergency departure plan that does not rely on U.S. government assistance.

Fox News Channel continued its dominance of the TV landscape in August, topping NBC, ABC and CBS in weekday primetime for the second consecutive summer while crushing cable news competitors in August.

Since the start of summer, Fox News has averaged 2.6 million viewers during weekday primetime programming to beat NBC’s 2.5 million, ABC’s 2.3 million and CBS’ 2 million.

While Fox News is outdrawing broadcast networks, it is also leaving other cable news outlets in the dust. In August, Fox News averaged 1.4 million total day viewers, while MS NOW managed 599,000 and CNN settled for 439,000.

It was much of the same during the primetime hours of 8–11 p.m., as Fox News averaged 2.1 million viewers compared to 940,000 for MS NOW and only 624,000 for CNN.

"Gutfeld!," "Special Report with Bret Baier," "Hannity" and "The Ingraham Angle" all finished with larger audiences than anything MS NOW or CNN had to offer as Fox News delivered 13 of the 15-most-watched programs on cable news.

The highest-rated MS NOW program, "The Rachel Maddow Show," which only aired four times the entire month because its namesake host is on a Mondays-only schedule, finished sixth.

Republicans fail to ease one of Trump's greatest fears as Supreme Court measure collapses

House Democrats are nuking Republicans' effort to assuage one of President Donald Trump's biggest concerns about the future of the federal government.

A vote on a constitutional amendment to cap the number of Supreme Court justices failed on Wednesday afternoon after the vast majority of Democrats voted against it.

Trump has warned for months that he believes Democrats would seek to expand the Supreme Court if they took back control of Congress, something affirmed by top progressives, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.

House GOP leaders sought to head that off with a proposed amendment led by Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., that would mandate that just nine justices can sit on the high court.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., opted to fast-track the legislation past multiple procedural hurdles in exchange for raising the threshold for passage from a simple majority to two-thirds, a maneuver known as "suspending the rules." But it failed to clinch that number, even though the majority of House lawmakers supported the amendment.

The U.S. Constitution allows Congress to set the number of seats on the Supreme Court bench, which is currently occupied by eight justices and one chief justice.

However, the Constitution itself does not dictate how many justices can exist. Republicans argued that changing that could make it much harder for a Democrat-led government to pack the court in the future to stack judicial odds in its favor.

"Here's the question every American should ask: If a sitting majority can change the size of the Supreme Court the moment it dislikes rulings, what happens to the next time the other side is in power?" Biggs asked Wednesday.

"Once you go down that road, the court stops being an independent check on government power. It becomes another political institution controlled by whoever happens to hold the majority."

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., among the progressives calling to increase the number of justices to 13, argued that Congress has changed the number of Supreme Court justices multiple times throughout history and dismissed the current tally as arbitrary.

"MAGA's proposal is to strip Congress of all authority in the matter, to freeze it and cement it permanently in the constitutional architecture for all time with the suddenly magic number nine," Raskin said.

"It's another partisan power grab by MAGA, our colleagues, who fear for the results of the November election as their policies have brought us nothing but war, inflation, corruption, lawlessness and a $40 trillion debt — one quarter of it's supplied by this presidential administration. So, the MAGA party wants to cement into place a profoundly partisan and lopsided ... court that was gerrymandered and engineered by Mitch McConnell."

HARRIS LABELED 'INSTITUTIONAL ARSONIST' FOR PLAN TO FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM SCOTUS AND ELECTORAL COLLEGE

He was referring to former Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and his critical role in helping secure the current conservative majority on the high court.

Progressives have argued that expanding the court to 13 would mean there is one justice for every federal circuit court.

Rep. Mark Harris, R-N.C., attacked the left's push as an effort to seize political power.

"For decades, we have heard calls from those unhappy with the ideological balance of the Supreme Court to pack the court. The alarming rise of such calls should worry all of us, because their objective is not to uphold ethical principles or even to protect individual rights, but rather to consolidate power and intimidate the court," Harris said.

Later, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., said locking the number at nine would only extend the current conservative majority's power.

"I think it would be a grave mistake to dictate how many justices should sit on the Supreme Court in perpetuity, and thereby lock in for a generation or more a right-wing majority, which is engaged in an unprecedented assault on Supreme Court norms and our constitutional order for the past several years," Scanlon said.
