The late Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., was honored by his former colleagues on the Senate floor Tuesday.
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid remarked on his distinguished voice and the unmistakable presence he was in the Senate. "Sometimes he would become impatient with some of the foolishness around here," quipped Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.
Alexander recalled an interview Thompson offered in which the former "Law and Order" and movie actor joked that he missed the sincerity of Hollywood.
Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., added Thompson was the kind of person that made him want to be better when he was around him.
