They looked like any other guests at Tuesday night's White House state dinner. The usher announced "Mr. and Mrs. Salahi" and the tuxedo and sari-wearing couple walked into the room, stopping to be photographed by the gathered press, before milling about with Washington's elite.
But the Virgina couple didn't get to stay for the meal because there was no table for them to sit at. In fact, there was no place setting for them at any table because they were not actually invited. Michaele and Tareq Salahi had pulled off the unimaginable. They crashed the first state dinner held by President Obama and the First Lady.
Mrs. Salahi posted photos on her Facebook page saying she and her husband had been invited to the hottest ticket in Washington but they were not on any White House guest list. A spokesman for the Secret Service told Fox News the agency's "initial findings identified a Secret Service checkpoint which did not follow proper procedures to ensure that the 2 individuals...were on the invited guest list."
While inside the event, the Salashi's took photos of themselves with Vice President Joe Biden and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Michaele Salahi is vying for a spot on the Bravo reality show "Real Housewives of D.C." The Secret Service has not said what, if any charges, they will press.
Here's a look at some of the photos posted on Facebook by Michaele Salahi.
