As the president traveled Monday to a North Carolina light bulb manufacturer that got federal stimulus funds and opened a new plant in China, a Democratic California Congressman told Chris Stirewalt on Monday's Power Play Live that stimulus funds should only go toward creating jobs in America.
Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., said the administrators of any project that gets tax money-stimulus or not-should have to purchase American products and hire American workers. But Garamendi wouldn't criticize the president's trip to Cree, the energy efficient bulb maker, saying it isn't clear that stimulus funds went to help pay for the new China factory.
