Obama and Romney agree, RGIII unites Washington

President Obama and Mitt Romney have found common ground. They agree that there is one man who can unite Washington. The two presidential candidates joined together to salute the Redskins’ star rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III, in a pre-recorded video message that aired on a Fox Sports pregame show before the Redskins vs. Giants match up.“RGIII hasn’t been in Washington very long, but he’s already created change,” Romney said of the Heisman trophy winner.Said Obama: “It’s tough to unite this city around anything. Believe me, I know. But RGIII makes it look easy.”The candidates were not afraid of losing any support from the New York area while expressing their support for the Redskins, a popular football team in the battleground state of Virginia.“He’s a great young man, and a heck of a lot of fun to watch, and I wish him all the luck in the world,” said Obama. However, the president, a Chicago sports fan, added one caveat, “except when he plays the Bears.”Romney, a New England Patriots fan, did not hold back when endorsing Griffin.“I wish him the best of luck in New York today,” he said. “When he’s on the field, anything can happen.”
