Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer told viewers Monday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that the White House was 'very lacking in information' on terrorist intelligence.
Krauthammer said the U.S. Army’s Delta Forces captured Al Qaeda leader Abu Anas al-Libi in Libya last weekend, instead of killing him, because the administration needed information.
He also noted using drones instead of a boots-on-the-ground operation would have meant any potential information source would be killed.
Al-Libi currently is being held on a U.S. naval ship, the USS San Antonio, in international waters and being questioned by a team of military, intelligence and Justice Department interrogators, according to the Associated Press.
Krauthammer also said the fact the president authorized the Libya raid, along with another unsuccessful one against a top al-Shabaab commander in Somalia, suggested that "no longer is he saying the war on terror is receding. "
