ATLANTA -- Georgia voters are heading to the polls to cast ballots in a series of wide-open primary contests -- deciding who will be facing off for governor, Congress, all the statewide offices and every seat in the state Legislature.
The most high-profile battle is the race to replace two-term Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue. Seven Democrats and seven Republicans are locked in a fierce battle for their party's nominations.
Every statewide office is up for grabs, as are the state House's 180 seats and the state Senate's 56 spots.
For Congress, three Democrats are facing opposition in the primary. On the Republican side, newly elected Rep. Tom Graves faces five challengers. And eight GOP contenders are vying to replace Republican Rep. John Linder, who is retiring after nine terms.
Polls close at 7 p.m. Eastern.
